GK61 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard – 61 Keys Multi Color RGB Illuminated LED Backlit Wired Programmable for PC/Mac Gamer (Gateron Optical Black, Black)

GK61 is a standard-sized 60% keyboard featuring RGB backlighting, USB-C wired connection, and optical switches . The USB-C cable is detachable for convenience of portability.

Optical switches are much more durable than conventional mechanical keyboard switches and are rated for 100 million keystrokes.

They have a high actuation point of 1.5mm for fast response. Light Strike optical switches utilize a horizontal infrared beam which is transmitted across the width of the inner keyswitch.

The infrared beam is normally blocked from reaching a sensor across from it by the stem. Once a switch is pressed, the switch stem no longer blocks the infrared beam and the beam is detected by the sensor, which activates the switch.

Due to the optical mechanism, an optical switch has an extremely fast response time of 0.2ms, which means faster reactions in those times where timing is critical, such as when gaming.

his keyboard is amazing with a very short actuation point which is very good for gaming but can be frustrating for general use. But the one major issue I have with this keyboard is that three is no real easy way to get a keyboard program/software to fully customize the RGB which I love and is so good and the actuation point which is not ideal for casual typing as even the slightest taps can lead to a mistake. The switches I have are amazing (gateron blacks) but I’ve also tried the yellows and I like them a lot as well. overall it’s a great keyboard and if you’re into gaming I do recommend i

I love this keyboard! Great for gaming. Except the rgb is a little dimmer on the program, only if you use the perfect colors. The built in rgb options are good, and the program is easy to maneuver around! Overall, it is a 9/10 keyboard for its price! The brown switches sound amazing with the spacebar not being all that loud. Great price for a 60% keyboard with custom rgb setting (no moving rgb for the custom setting though, only the base settings). And a plus side is it comes with a keycap puller!

This is my first keyboard to FULLY mod and I have to say.. I’m quite impressed with the switches but the stabs are atrocious… So I had to order some extra but that’s what I was going to do anyway … Over all solid 8 out of 10

Bought it for my brother and he loves it. He’s a beefy one and the keyboard is the perfect size for him I worried it be a bit small. Lo and behold it’s bright, great reaction time, sounds beautiful and most importantly he loves it. I’ll have to buy one for myself soo

I updated the software of the keyboard and as a result my keyboard no longer worked. Support didn’t offer any way to fix it other than replacement.

After lubing the switches, changing the key caps and stabilizers, and filling the inside with foam, this keyboard sounds and feels great. Perfect for anyone looking for a beginner keyboard to mod.

As a stock keyboard, it’s nothing special. Gets the job done. Stock stabilizers are sub par and without lubing the switches it feels like any other mechanical linear switch (a little scratchy but good feel otherwise). The hollow case will amplify the spring sound of your switches so without filling it with foam and lubing your switches it will be audible.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHonestly this is a very good keyboard, has great RGB (Lighting) and just feels good. There are only 2 THINGS I DISLIKE about this keyboard. It is very small in my opinion even though its normal for gaming keyboards to be small this one feels very small. What really bothers me is that it makes so much noise it depends on the switch you get but it was super loud. When my brother would use the keyboard in the morning he would wake me up to the sound of clickity-clackity. In other terms DON’T BUY IF YOU DONT LIKE LOUD KEYBAORDS! Other than that I really like the 18 or something RGB functions from right out the box.
    Thanks for reading

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFirst of all I had to return one lavender GK61 keyboard I got which was faulty due to the equals and plus /f12 (=+) key was triggering the whole top right set of keys ({[]}=+ and enter) so that’s mainly why I gave 4 stars, another thing is that the keyboard feels quite sensitive which can be a bad thing for gaming for example resting my finger on key caps sometimes select that key, this can be annoying when playing a game like Fortnite when your ready your finger on a building key and it accidentally triggers.

Some good things on the GK61. Hot-swappable switches gives you a the chance to upgrade. the typing experience which is smooth and satisfying, the sound of the keys are a little clicky and thoccy ( Gateron mechanical yellows), the color of the keyboard is very accurate to the listing image’s and the rgb is very vibrant and has a lot of customizability with the app.

Overall the GK61 is worth the 69.99 price tag due to the pleasing experience I’ve had so far with typing and performance in long gaming sessions.

Keyboard is perfect for those new to mechanical keyboards – Easy to use and affordable! The rgb has several modes with LEDS that aren’t too bright. It’s definitely customizable and can be modded to your liking. Definitely reccomend this to those who are building their setup on a budget.

he keyboard is great for its budget, but there’s just tiny things about it that just make it pretty bad. This is a keyboard that you mod and don’t really use it stock, like the key caps are noticeably wobbly when you really focus on it and the rgb isn’t the brightest so overall i give this keyboard a 6.5/10

I bought this for my son and he uses it for gaming. He absolutely LOVES it! He loves the loud clicking sound of the keys. It’s something that I don’t understand but one thing for sure, he’s a happy kid. The keyboard is smaller than regular keyboards due to no number keypad. So for gaming, it’s perfect. Looks great too.

Really great 60% keyboard for gaming. Im really harsh on this kb while gaming but it still works great. Been using for over a year&ahalf now. Really sensitive to press, optical yellows . Could be a downside for typing but you’ll get used to it after a while.
    Downsides-
    1) No toggling option for arrowkeys. Have to hold FN key to use arrowkeys. Would be great if there was an option to toggle on/off arrow keys.
    2) After more than a year and a half’s use it has gotten a bit louder and clunky. The space bar is way louder than before.

Would be great if I could get the key sent out.

One thing I don’t like bout the keyboard is how some of the sounds echos through and you can hear some hard key presses which I do a lot but that’s just me being picky. The optical red switches are still very fast but I made a small buyers mistake and didn’t buy the yellow switches but I can add them later on. This is definitely a great budget option for when you don’t have a $100+ to spend on a Apex TKL or a Razer Huntsman Mini. I already see myself getting faster gameplay after only a month in.

The stabilisers in this keyboard are absolutely terrible – super rattle-y any and in general just wildly unpleasant, however otherwise this keyboard is a great form factor for easy portability between computers. if you build a lot of PCs or work around them a lot this is a cheap and handy option for carrying between systems. If you’re gaming, I recommend looking elsewhere, possibly at brands such as Epomaker, or building your own – your keyboard is one of the most important tools in your life so get a good one!

The overall quality is very good, the key caps are solid and feel good, the RGB is amazing, and the overall shape of the keyboard is my favorite.

But after pressing all the keys I found that the spacebar sounded very off (sound in video). The other keys were great but the spacebar sound hollow/airy. Not much I can do about that, it is the largest key on the keyboard so it’s understandable but I believe getting new keycaps will fix it so I am going to try that.

Other than that it is a great, solid keyboard that I am definitely going to keep!

Pretty good quality for the price. There is one flaw though

This keyboard exceeded expectations. Quite sensitive and good for gaming. The spacebar could be a bit better. Seems a bit clunky, unstable, or something…just a very different feel. I can’t say that it hasn’t done it’s job…just doesn’t have the same feel and confidence. All in all, a good purchase.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersEstremamente compatta.

I have been using this keyboard for over a month now I believe. And from my limited experience i can safely comment on a few things

    Packaging
    – Ok the packaging for this is pretty shady lol. My box was all dinged up, the sticker that is supposed to
hold it close was open and lost all it’s adhesive 🙂 But regardless, inside the keyboard was pretty safe
and hadn’t moved or been damaged at all

    Build
    – Sturdy build with no loose parts or rattling’
    – Aluminum switch plate feels premium and gives a good feel
    – Keycaps are decent, not the best but didn’t expect them to be. I would suggest upgrading to PBT
keycaps as this board is pretty much build to be customized.
    – Cable is of decent quality as well, so is the keycap puller and switch puller
    – This keyboard also says “pre lubed” like every other mechanical keyboard lol, but it’s very minimal and
has no effect on the sound/feel even if you wipe it off. I recommend lubing them on your own.
I would recommend Petreplus 2700 if you’re not looking to spend 5k on 10grams of krytox205g0 lol.
I have a review on the lube too, and in my experience, it’s a good lube if used correctly.

    Switches
    – I have the brown switches. Good, fast, smooth, and sound if very pleasing as well.
    – Again, pRe lUbEd, so wipe that stuff off, and lube them yourself, that will just elevate the experience.

    Cons
    – The PCB and switch plate sit very deep into the case, which is good for sturdiness and security, but then
if you want to add foam to your keyboard, that would be a bit difficult. Maybe i didn’t do it right, but
    thats my experience.
    – The software is janky AF. HK gaming really needs to focus on this, otherwise, their brand image will
never be able to get better as their software feels like something from Windows XP. But the keyboard
isn’t very software dependant, so it isn’t much of an issue. There are keys to switch between light
modes, but if you want to keep custom lighting then you’ll need the software, which is relatively simply
to use, even though it looks very very old lol.
    – This board is a 60% which might be small for a lot of people. I didn’t mind it at all, in fact I loved it. I edit videos and photos, and i didn’t face any problems, and I love the compact size. But I know most people don’t, so listing it here as a con.

All in all, I would recommend this board due to its high customizability. You can go for the Keychron V2 hot swap version if you want something bigger than a 60% as well, but this was cheaper than that for me and based on reviews pretty much giving in direct competition as a good budget mechanical keyboard
But I am happy with my decision, hope this helped you in making yours too.

It’s just perfect for the price.

At first you’ll feel a little weird while gaming with it but as soon as you get use to the ‘travel distace’ of the keys you’ll notice a huge difference compared to other keyboards it’s a lot quicker!

The build quality is great for the price and the sound of the keyboard is pretty good right out the box, I’m pretty sure that the switches come pre-lubed. If you are trying to get into the keyboards modding experience this is definitely a good starting point for you.

Hands down this is definitely the budget apex pro.

This is the first 60% keyboard I ever had, therefore, I can’t compare it to a “Good one”. That being said, I think it works great! I absolutely love it. I only wish it had software to control the LED in your computer, maybe be able to link it to Razer/Mystic light, etc.. You still have control of the LEDs and they work great! It is more of a preference for me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPicked up the gateron optical silvers switches. Ive always used blue swtiches for gaming and work but frequently felt they were heavy for gaming so decided to get a new tkl keyboard with red switches just for gaming but I came across gk60 instead and loved the aspect of 60% because it saves me so much space.

I opted for the silvers because they are really smooth and have a very fast actuation response. They are known to be one of the fastest switches after yellows. I’ve tested yellows from a friend and personally didn’t feel like it was the right fit for me. I took a gamble by picking the silver switches and they are perfect. Much softer than reds and slightly heavier than yellows. It the perfect sweet spot.

For gaming they are the beast but for typing we’ll need practice with it because there is a possibility of actuating another key hence leading to mistakes but that’s because they have a really quick key response time and that’s why they are the best for gaming. If you’re looking to write documents or programming and a casual gamer who doesn’t play much fps games. Then I would recommend you pick Brown’s. I myself use blue swtiches for work and silvers just for gaming. ( You can see my desk setup pic)

Now the sound, silver switches are linear so they don’t have the clicky sound that blue swtiches make and tbh I prefer it that way. Ppl you play with hate hearing clicky keyboard coz they miss out on enemy foot steps plus it is very distracting while gaming. Hence I use the blues just for work like typing mails, documents etc. Ive attached a video for sound comparison.

I definitely recommend this keyboard to fps gamers (serious and casual) its worth it !!!

Very good keyboard for fps games (gateron optical silvers)

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe keyboard:
Small, yet functional keyboard. Comes with a long (5ft i guess?) Usb-c cable which I was quick to trade with my phone’s short charger (life hacks). Per key RGB is plenty good, didn’t bother using the software (didn’t recognize my keyboard) for custom key mapping. Everyone reviewing mentions that the ABS key caps are frosted (or matt) finish on top and glossy on the sides, but the one I received has all matt finish key caps. I honestly like matt over glossy as glossy gets easily scratched. Also, there is no microphone under the space bar for music synced RGB (some early reviews mentioned they have it), I can’t be bothered as I don’t use computer speakers anyway.

    My experience:
Despite being all plastic, GK61 has some heft to it. This is my first experience, albeit first in a very long time, with a mechanical keyboard, so I haven’t yet gotten accustomed to the nuances of a mech keyboard. Not able to match the typing speed on my Blade 15’s keyboard yet, all in time until I develop finger memory. Haven’t had issues while gaming (CS:GO mostly), but encountering a lot of errors while typing mostly due to low actuation distance of Gat Silvers and no tactile (pfft, i know right?) feedback on key presses. So, further pressing down the key caps obviously doesn’t do anything, but feels quite odd if not pressing keys all the way (idk probably just me as I’m not used to it yet).

    Minor con:
One minor quality issue I have with my keyboard is that the bigger key caps (shift, enter, space bar etc) wobble when you nudge them longitudinally (tangentially to the plane of the keyboard) at key cap ends. My guess is due to cheap quality stabilisers. I’ll probably look into upgrading them later on.

    Future prospects:
That’s something would great to experiment on this cheap (in comparison) keyboard, modding the insides. My first mod will probably be adding a regular foam inside for a some thoccy-ness (everyone loves thoccy keyboards right?). Followed by stabilisers and then lubrication, perhaps.

    Tl;dr:
    – Good enough for a modding journey.
    – Choose your switches wisely.
    – Less options for optical switches.

    Note:
Attached photo of my humble desk setup lol! High five Poverty!

Reviewing one month later - quite satisfied

    Bottom: This keyboard (RK61?)

I had written out a lengthy review but it got deleted as occurs with technology, so here’s the TL;DR

    Build Quality: 5 stars
    RGB/Aesthetic: 5 stars
    Provided manual: Pathetic
Typing sound/experience: 5 black holes aka best in terrible

I got it with the Gateron red and I’m still pasting my ears back on. I don’t have any experience with higher end keyboards as this is my first one but goodness I thought red was supposed to be quiet. This one is not and my ears still hurt. Another reviewer also said it is unusually loud. Do with that what you will.

I’m attaching a video but I don’t know how to type so beware.

Overall, buy it but be wary of the red switches or possibly the whole thing in general.

My ears are still haunted by the click clacks of death

I bought the keyboard because I got tired of typing with my controller on a console and it was perfect! it comes with a USB that has the other end for like a MacBook Pro (don’t worry tho is for the keyboard) although I wish the color of the connector matched the keyboard…. it came in a light gray color.
The RBG lights look perfect… the colors look nice and bright and sounds kinda like a typewriter.
Sadly that is all I have tested out for the keyboard so I don’t know if it will interfere with games so I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I love the Clicky-clack of my version. The colorful lights are useful for me when I game at night. I like that It came with a key cap remover. Overall it’s a bang for your buck mechanical keyboard. If you just want a decent computer keyboard that’s not laggy like the Bluetooth ones and doesn’t give you finger arthritis like the other ones, I recommend a mech keyboard. Do your research before you buy yours though – the switches are there for your preference – take time before you buy just any old keyboard. Look up mechanical keyboard videos on YouTube for references and a quick rundown on what you’re getting yourself into.

It’s great & also do your research!

I usually don’t leave reviews but HOLY this keyboard is soooo good I mean seriously it’s super responsive I have bought yellow and red optical switches and the yellow ones are super fast it’s the fastest keyboard I have tried and I’ve had a razer huntsman mini and an apex pro TKL but a warning the keys press on accident sometimes it’s like playing on a touchscreen so it’s super responsive but also super easy to press weather that’s good or bad idk depends from person to person but the red switches are absolutely perfect I mean seriously they are super responsive they don’t press on accident they sound so good and they are built to last. So in summary idk personally don’t know about black or blue switches but red and yellow switches are really good I’d give yellow switches 9.5/10 and the red ones 10/10

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought the Gateron Brown ones. The only objective negative I found its the keycaps and its stabilization. The ABS keycaps aren’t as sturdy as PBT ones and the keys wobbles a bit. Doesn’t affect its performance but does feel cheap. RGB is great. Arrow keys can be permanently switched on. Gap between keys is appreciated. Great for gaming and typing.

The subjective negative is that brown switches aren’t good at feedback. The bump you feel is very slight, plasticky, feels almost like annoying pothole on the road rather than a good bump. Compared to metallic ‘click’ from the blues, these feel nothing. My light fingers could only feel them while I typed slowly, not while gaming nor while typing fast. And its not “silent” you will hear the “clack” when the plastic keycap hits the plastic base when pressed hard, present in every keyboard, which does make loud noise. The only silence is there is no metallic click sound.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was a bit hesitant to order this keyboard, First, this being my first 60% keyboard and second, this being my first ever mechanical keyboard xD , and also I’m a software dev, so the keyboard is a thing that you can’t mess with it. If you aren’t comfortable with it then you can’t write code on it; it’s as simple as that. I’ve used other mechanical keyboards, The Logitech and also the HyperX alloy, I know Arrow keys Section plays a big role when you are coding and also even when you are just surfing on the internet and I’m telling you this with my own experience, you will not feel any difference! You just have to give it some time to get your brain used to it. (It took approx 2 days for me) and also it comes with software and some layers so if you’re a computer geek just like me, then you can tweak some stuff there, play with macros, LEDs, and all, but it’s on you. If Hyperx is out of your budget and you are looking for a normal usage mechanical keyboard then this keyboard surely will be the best option for you at this moment.

PROS: everything is programmable., doesn’t have a clicky sound, optical switches, comfy and compact design.
CONS: keycaps can be an issue here, but you can change them if you have some spare money in your hand. that’s the only reason I’m giving it a 5 star Rating, company should provide PBT keycaps at least for WASD keys and also command and other keys for MAC, just like other companies do.

    COMFORTY??? YES IT IS, VERY!!!!!!!!

I’d say, for 65 dollars, this is the best keyboard out there. It’s a mechanical keyboard and has pretty clicky keys. I think the only downside to the keyboard is that the spacebar is a little bit wobbly when pressed down, but that’s not too much of a concern. The white color is very nice and the RGB isn’t too intrusive. I also should mention that this is my first mechanical keyboard, so I didn’t know what to expect, but dang was I impressed. If your looking for a keyboard that is relatively cheap and good for gaming, go for this kb. I also have to mention that I didn’t download the software, because the configuration on the keyboard itself was enough for me.

This is a sturdy built keyboard for the money it costs. At half the price of other mechanical keyboards, you get a compact keyboard with the essentials. If you don’t want many frills but are looking for a mechanical feel and a 60% format, this is a great buy.

I went through the process of lubing each switch/stabilizer and doing some mods. Out of the box, the keyboard sounds just as any other off-the-shelf mechanical keyboard would sound. After lubing and mods, it sounds like a true high-end mechanical keyboard. Taking the keyboard apart showed the admirable production quality. Nothing is high end, but nothing inside is super cheap either. This will be a durable keyboard that doesn’t seem like it should run into any problems unless there is an issue with the PCB, which is unlikely.

The RGB effects are nice and the customization for macros and lighting is nice. It provides the essentials. The only downside to the lighting is that any colour that isn’t red, green, or blue will be an awkward gradient through the keycaps. For example, orange will be a weird red/green mix with only orange right in the center of the key. White is a gradient from blue, to pink, to purple. I find that it looks cool, but it’s definitely not good at replicating solid colours.

Overall, beautiful keyboard that fits all of my needs. Unless you’re a keyboard enthusiast looking to spend $200 on a 60% keyboard, this is your best bet.

I have been through many keyboards, mostly budget, Asceny, Reddragon as well as HCMAN. But I can tell you that this is by far the best for the price. Though unlike Asceny it does not come with extra keycaps for the bottom row keys and escape. My preferred switch would definitely be the reds though because blues are just to clicky, browns are just preference, black switches, are too hard to press for gaming. And then yellow and silver switches are too fast. And reds are perfect, also this keyboard is hot-swappable, so if a key breaks or if you do not like a key, then you can switch it with only a gateron switch. Overall great for the price. THOUGH KEEP IN MIND, SOFTWARE IS NOT TOO GOOD and THERE IS A MICROPHONE UNDER THE SPACEBAR FOR RGB EFFECTS (A LITTLE SUSPICIOUS FOR SPYING USE).

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWhen this keyboard, the white GK61 with Gateron Reds, came in the mail I was beyond excited to open it after seeing multiple reviews on YouTube and Reddit giving the product positive feedback. I am not new to the world of mechanical keyboards so I was more than aware of what to expect. After opening the box I was happy to find that UPS had not failed me and my keyboard was intact, but I quickly noticed the windows key was no where to be found. After ignoring the missing cap, assuming I would find it loose under the interior cardboard piece along with the USB-Type C connector, I was very sad to see that the key was not present. As I am typing this review on the keyboard I have nothing but positive thoughts, it is aesthetically pleasing, while not PBT the key caps are high quality, and due to the heft the board it feels like it has great build quality. While the pros should outweigh the cons of this board in particular, for me they do not. I know as soon as I lift my left hand away from the board, I will see a helpless little shiny black windows key, out of place, and out-numbered, by a sea of white key caps with a clearly dominant aesthetic. After I purchase a new set of PBT key caps this board will become a source of pride for my current set up. For now though, this small problem is corrupting my already OCD mindset. Every time I look down I want to slam the keyboard into the ground and throw scalding hot water on it, taking a professional grade torch and burning the single recycled black windows key cap until it is a small piece of identifiable plastic autism contrasting my bright hardwood floors.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI had never bought a ~60% keyboard before since I work in a pharmacy and the software we use makes heavy use of the nav keys and number pad, so usually I wouldn’t have even considered such a board. In fact I came across this board as I was buying the parts to build a 96 key keyboard because I do game a fair bit so I wanted something smaller to give me more desk space while still have the Numpad and arrow keys so I can lug it to work and be as efficient and quick as I am with a full size or enter alt-codes or do taxes at home.

This board caught my eyes for two reasons: Hot-swappable and Optical switches. The very small form factor is kind of a turn off for me because I can only comfortably use it for gaming, but I figures the hot-swappableness would make it a good test board the packs of switches I’d just bought (more on that later).

The packaging was not impressive, not that I care, I just thought I’d mention it.

I was very surprised by the build and even the fit and finish at this price point, however. The keycaps are the cheap double shots with the stenciled lettering so I’m not a fan of the look, but it’s not too gamer-y and they can easily be replaced if it really starts to bother me. It’s a plastic case, but the keys are mounted in a metal plate, and it’s a minuscule form-factor, so it feels very sturdy; it doesn’t flex /at all/ and is heavier than I thought it’d be. That’s impressive to me for this price, but what prompted me to write this review was the fact that it sounds /incredible/ because all the stabilizers are lubed /out of the box/ and they don’t budge /at all/.

That astonished me as I have bought several mechanical keyboards at various price points: An MK Typist with box whites, a Logitech G Pro with GX Blues, A James Donkey 007 with Gat Browns (smoothest cherry brown clones on the market), a Logi G613, a logi 610 Orion with cherry reds, and a few cheap mechs on top of that.

None of them came with lubed anything straight out of the box and the result, combined with the Optical Gateron Blacks I opted for making this one of the smoothest, best-sounding and most satisfying keyboards I have ever typed on and I’m usually a tactile-switch guy. Really nice bang for the buck if you’re into smaller keebs like this.

–Side note: I get the impression the switches are less complex and therefore, cheaper, which allows more attention to be paid to fit and finish.

    HOWEVER.

The Board /is/ hot-swappable, but /only/ with other optical switches, which means no traditional mechanical keyswitches, whether they’re cherry, gateron, khail, or a boutique switch can be used at all. Period. The switches are basically just little plastic boxes with a spring that when pressed, block an infrared(?) laser to signal actuation, which is why I think the switches are very cheap to manufacture, and it’s also why they are so unbelievably smooth, even compared to a lubed cherry red.

    — The software was confusing and not that great but I personally didn’t feel the need to use it since I don’t care all that much about RGB or macros so it didn’t bother me too much, though your mileage may vary in that regard.

In conclusion, if you are a fan of the form factor and want to try optical switches, buy it. The build is solid and (assuming all boards have pre-lubed stabs like mine did) it’s lubed! For $50! I personally can’t use it for more than just gaming or typing up this review, so it’s not optimal for me, but if you just need a small board with enough keys for gaming or chatting on discord this will be plenty for you.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI just received this keyboard and am coming the perspective of a havit 104 blue switch keyboard.

    Pros:
Small – I wanted to downsize from a 104 key layout to free up my space and it is exactly what i was looking for.
Hot swap switches. – I accidentally ordered the brown switch model and I am actually satisfied with them so I will be keeping this model, but if i do ever get tired of the brown switches I at least am able to easily swap between switches instead of having to buy a new keyboard.
Build quality – The board was surprisingly heavier than I expected and feels more sturdy with almost no flex to the board.
Switches: The brown switches provide a tactile feedback that I find satisfied and the keys produce enough noise to produce an audio feedback that I feel boosts the overall experience of using this product.

    Cons:
Keycaps – When you look at this board you feel like this purchase was worth it except for when you start to look at the keycaps. They look and feel cheap with glossy edges so I would recommend buying aftermarket keycaps to improve this.

    Neutral:
RGB settings – It is better than a havit keyboard but not as good as the keychron K2. Some of the presets are appealing but I feel like more solid color options could be added. As seen in other reviews the software could use some work but as a Mac user I am not able to use it at all. This leaves me with the standard presets only.

Overall for the price I am happy with the initial presentation of the keyboard and would highly recommend i

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis 60% board is great! I would take points away for the software it uses but after spending a few minutes online looking around for an older version of the software (which happens to be the better one) I just set up my board how I wanted it to run using the onboard settings and it’s been great.

I’ve purchases 2 of these so far with red opticals, and I’ll likely end up buying 2 more of these boards simply because the cost is so low and it comes set up out of the box. The initial build quality is great and while the keys may be a bit clacky they’re still much quieter and smoother than any other stock keyboard I own. I ended up buying a set of PBT oem caps with this and I have some SA caps on order, but even with just the oem caps I was blown away by how fast and responsive this board was.

As for modding, I purchases several sets of additional switches out of the available linears (yellow & silver) and currently I’m using the silver ones with PBT oem caps after having spent the time to lube the switches. The feel and sound of this board with the listed changes is amazing!

I have yet to start using the yellows since I’m waiting on a few parts to mod the hell out of my second board but I already know it’s going to be easy to do and I’m expecting the outcome to be AMAZING.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this keyboard and a few others. This is the same as the Asceny One, The Anne Pro 2 but without wifi, and a few others all on Amazon. This brand didn’t try to mask the label. I was going to build a keyboard with the same switches. and a similar PCB and it would have cost me 4 times more. I am super happy with the browns. I have Cherry Reds at work and they are way too sensitive. I constantly mistype. I brought the reds home one day to try gaming and it didn’t feel right. The browns are the perfect blend for gaming and typing. I did try some blues, but my wife vetoed it almost instantly. Way too loud. This is a 60% keyboard. I do sometimes wish I had real arrow keys and functions keys, but I love the same form factor on my desk. The light effects out of the box are enough for me. I have no desire to download the software. I have enough RGB control crap on my PC as it is. For the money you cannot go wrong. The switches are replaceable so even if one dies I can buy a pack for a few bucks. The Base it solid. No flex. The keys do have a little side by side play, but so does my $150 Corsair at work. This is a great bang for the buck, Down the road I may still build my own, but for now this is worth every penny and I love it. I did install the corsair WASD rubber keys on this board and they look decent on it.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersPros: Full RGB, Hot swappable (Gateron Optical switches only), Durable, Switches feel great, Cool lighting effects, Keycaps are ABS but feel really nice, BRIGHT backlight, Comes with keycap and switch pullers.

Cons: Wobbly (Rubber pads misaligned, may only be for my keyboard), Strange RGB lights bleeding into each other, Don’t think there’s any alternative cases, Mic under the spacebar that you can’t turn off, No adjustable feet.
    —–

Just got this keyboard (Gateron brown switches) and it feels great. Everything works, the backlight is super bright (it is also adjustable) and the switches feel amazing. Some issues that I found with it and that some people talked about is how it wobbles. The rubber feet on the keyboard aren’t placed evenly making it wobble when you type, BUT the keyboard does feel pretty rugged. It could just be a defect for mine only, however this is just a fair warning because some people faced this issue as well. The wobble isn’t too much, it feels as if the bottom right feet is 1cm higher or lower than the other, so you can easily put something like a guitar pick under it and it’ll fix it. The keyboard has 3 offline/on-board profiles (Change by pressing FN + W or E or R) that you can customize via their software. These profiles are stored inside the keyboard so if you pack your keyboard and plug it into a different computer, your custom profiles will stay how they are. There’s also one driver based profile (Activate by pressing FN + Q). If you were to plug your keyboard into another computer, this profile will not be useable. For the RGB aspect of this keyboard, each key can be changed into whatever color you want via the software. The only problem that I found with this is that, when you’re using 2 different colors next to each other, they tend to mix. For example, in the picture I posted, the CTRL button is meant to be only orange, however, since I made Shift green, it bleeds into CTRL making the top green and the bottom orange. Overall, those are the only bad things that I found with this keyboard and it’s not really that major if you ask me. I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone thinking of getting a RGB 60% keyboard that’s also hot swappable (Only with Gateron Optical switches). Also, the software is trash. It’s just… trash.

    100% Worth i
