I use this when I just can’t quite empty from nursing or pumping and it was cheaper from Amazon than in stores!

Simple design with only on part, and it works! I gave it 4 stars for suction; it attaches well and stays on, but if you have a strong older baby, they will probably kick it off while nursing, and it for me it could never replace an electric pump. However this is THE BEST for softening the breast during engorgement in the early days while nursing on the opposite side, and as you can see it collects after letdown whatever would have been wasted into a pad while nursing opposite side. Collect may be the wrong word: it seems active, but this isn’t just a container, it does exert good suction to draw extra milk from the breast. Too narrow of a neck for (my) kitchen sponge or bottle brush, so I had to get a little creative, and you’re boiling it after regardless. For $13 this really is hands down one of the best accessories for a nursing mom.

I can’t imagine having to set up a whole pump and stay put to use it. I can use this whole baby’s on other side, while I’m cleaning/moving around. So convenient and easy, I have a $160 electric pump I’ve never opened. I do have to do a little squeezing and pushing on my nipple a bit sometimes to keep it flowing, but just as often can just put it on and forget and next thing I know it’s full. This thing is wonderful

I’m an under supplier who gets clogged ducts and this pump helps me get more milk by doing nothing. I’d skip this one and get the one with a plug and stand though as I’ve knocked it over and spilled my milk a few times.

I pop on the haaka whenever I’m feeding from one side to catch let down. Usually get about an ounce from each side. Stays on during feed times and around the house.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSaw an ad for this on pinterest and I looked it up because I HATE pumping. It’s incredibly painful for me and I figured anything is better than the pump.

Pro tip: it takes a minute or two for milk to start flowing. Once it does, you’re golden.

My baby only nurses on one side at night before going back to sleep and I wake with a soaked shirt every morning. A few minutes with this baby and I’m not nearly as engorged and my shirt stays significantly drier. My chest doesn’t hurt as much either!

I look forward to using this to encourage my body to produce more by attaching it after feeding sessions.

    Best baby purchase EVER.

Does it’s job, but it does not auction as well as the older version. The top seems thinner and is easier for my lo to break the suction when he accidentally kicks it. Good but the original was better.

Where was this item when I had my first child?!? I use this every time I pump and oftentimes when I nurse. We’ve been able to freeze sooo much more breast milk just by using the Haaka. HIGHLY recommend for nursing moms.

My wife already has the medela electric breast pump. She mainly uses the haakaa pump just for leakage when she is feeding the baby on one side. It’s a good nifty product and we’ve always bought a new one for each child.

Such an amazing way to catch your let down. Especially if you aren’t able to pump in the moment. It’ll allow you to get some release while breast feeding.

However keep your hand near the cup in case you don’t get a good suction. It’s heart breaking when the bottle falls and you lose all the milk.

This product was absolutely amazing. I did spend quite a few on wireless pumps that did not work out at all and the manual pumps take a lot of time. However this product was extremely helpful and I always placed it on the opposite breast when feeding my son to get at least 2 to 3 ounces of milk which benefits tremendously since you won’t have to pump as much as you think you will!

I purchased this because so many videos and mothers would push this on breastfeeding mothers.. at first I used it to express myself and collect then I figured out the right way to use it by squeezing the top and inserting nip then letting it sit on you while milk let out comes out.. I normally collect at most 2oz this way. I dont use it as I nurse due to my baby he loves to kick!

It’s super easy to clean and easy to use. I love that it catches the drops that otherwise go down my stomach or on my sons legs, but I see women getting several ounces and I get maybe a fourth of an ounce even when I’m engorged. For me it’s not enough to take the time to use unless it’s clean and right there handy. I don’t go out of my way to use.

Im so happy I decided to get the Haakaa.
I put baby on one side and the haakaa on the other and it collects all the let down. It has a few different placement options and they all affect the suction power differently. I’ve had an increase in supply since adding the haakaa to my breastfeeding routine. I definitely recommend.

An absolute must have for breastfeeding moms..

I struggle to pump a good amount and hate assembling all the parts each time. In my first use of the haaka, I got an ounce holding baby and watching TV in the same amount of time I normally get 2 ounces from a double pump. Definitely gonna get a second and take advantage of the suction during showers…. !

I love this product. Like I use it all the time. my child is now 14 months old and I still use it because I usually have let-down from breastfeeding. It’s bendable, dishwasher safe, and easy to clean, it’s amazing and easy to use. I absolutely feel this is a must, and I usually buy this for baby showers. and friends who need this. I even bought a couple for myself.

If you are pregnant, plan to be, or already have your baby and you plan to breastfeed THIS is a product you need.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product didn’t let me down during those let downs. It’s convenient and easy to use. Nurse on one side and place on other side to catch all that let down. You’ll be glad you got this to collect that liquid gold that can come out as a lot and leave your shirts damp etc.

Has a good suction, too good I’d say. If not placed correctly, it does hurt like a pinch. But just be mindful of placement and you’ll be good. Hands free once placed. If done correctly it stays in place. Slowly, but surely collects milk from any let downs. Easy to clean. No need to disassemble. It’s all one item. Spout shape makes it easy to pour that liquid gold into bottles. Super easy to wash. Soft silicone touch. Recommend since it’s easy to use and functional

This is amazing. I can get several ounces out in a matter of minutes without any effort. It is awesome for oversupply because you are not stimulating your body to produce more milk. I don’t think it would be a good option if you were struggling to maintain supply though

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI think this item is an absolute must have for milking mommies. I say milking instead because it is great for moms who breast feed and pump.

For breast feeding, I like to keep this in my other nipple to catch any fallout. If baby needs a break I will stick it on both sides until they’re ready for more. Whatever baby doesn’t eat, I properly store for another feeding or freeze.

For breast pumping mommas, I think this is great for those experiencing mastitis. What I will do is add an ounce or 2 of hot water and bath salt in the pump, suction it to my boobs and it loosens my ducts. This is just something you can’t do with a mechanical pump.

I will say however, this is not the easiest thing to use. It doesn’t fall off all the time, but it does require some coordination to stay on. It can be knocked off, which can be frustrating, so I always stay aware of potential accidents.

Disclaimer – I absolutely hate pumping. It makes me feel like an actual cow being milked. I hate waking up early and making time out of my day to sit down and do it.

With this product, I am able to breastfeed on one side and put the Hakka manual breast pump on the other side. I easily get 4-6oz on each side per feeding without messing with my supply and I don’t feel like I’m actually pumping.

    10/10!

I really like this in theory, but putting it on can be tricky to get the right amount of suction to stay on without hurting. I also feel like it ends up collecting too much milk when feeding on the opposite side so by the time I switch sides the breast it was on is almost empty already. It could just be me not using it right! If I only feed on one side and just use this on the other then it does an amazing job!

I’ve purchased so many things with some not really knowing what I’m doing but hoping for the best. A friend told me about this little gadget and I purchased and I’m so amazed best invention ever. I’m not a person who just drips but with this I get at least an oz each time I put it on. Love!

This is an absolutely MUST HAVE item for breastfeeding moms. I’m a first time mom and was advised to get one for using on the breast baby is not feeding on to catch let down. I easily collect 2-4 ounces of milk every time I feed my baby, that otherwise would have just been leaking down my shirt. Truly a MUST have! Also great for relieving clogged ducts!!!

This product works great for catching let down. The suction is uncomfortable for me at times but can obviously be adjusted. My main complaint is that the base is so narrow. I have knocked this thing over and spilt milk so. many. times. It’s extremely frustrating and seems like a major design flaw to me.

I feel this thing either suctions so hard your nipple hurts or if it falls off. Couldn’t find a happy medium. I mostly use it just to hand pump when I’m engorged so baby has an easier time latching. Was really hyped for this but too many times it just falls
Off and spills milk. No fun in the middle of the night 🙁

I was having a hard time pumping. Number 1 because I’m breastfeeding and tried to pump with the machine at same time was hard cuz attached and couldn’t move far and number 2 to find the time to get on a hands free pumping bra and to setup the machine takes so long. I was not good about pumping regularly because it was such a daunting task. Number 3 I also wasn’t pumping too much milk. However, the haakaa is amazing! It stays on so easily hands free. Also, super convenient don’t need a whole setup. And, much easier to do while nursing since not attached to any wires. This morning I grabbed it and put it on to see what it could do and and didn’t think I was going to get more than a few drops. However after 5 min I got 1oz, which I struggled to get aftwr 15 min of being hooked up to electric pumping machine. I definitely would and have ready recommended the haakaa. Very happy!

I have seen so many reviews on this. I wanted to try it because I liked the idea of it. Seems hassle free. No actual “pumping required. I really like them! You do kinda have to play with the suction to get it to where it’s comfortable. Otherwise you could end up in a great deal of pain! Very easy to clean. They do stay on pretty good but I do still wear my pumping bra for support. What’s in the picture is a rushed pump at work lol. But this is not far from what I expel with my Motif Luna. Definitely a good purchase!

This is a great little invention. When my baby is nursing on one side I attach the haakaa to the other. I can express up to 2 ounces sometimes. Be careful not to leave it on too long…I accidentally fell asleep with it on once and my nipple swelled up from all the suction. I would’ve given a 5 star rating… but I’ve lost milk on several occasions because the haakaa does not balance well and it tipped over spilling my milk. So now, I set it inside a cup after I’m done using it if I can’t get up and store it right away.

I read over and over these are for let down. Guess I didn’t know what that meant. It seems it is mostly for milk that would would drip out. If you want to create more milk, I suggest a breast pump. These are awkward to wear, but do catch milk that would likely be wasted otherwise. They stay on better than a breast pump when you get them on properly.

I’ve read people using these as a manual breast pump but I’ve had no success with that. I do love it for catching my let down while nursing on the other side. Can’t say it fully empties the breast but gets out 1-2oz for me. This is my 3rd baby and I wish I had this with my other 2. A total game changer for breastfeeding moms. Helps build a stash without feeling the pressure of squeezing in pumping on top of exclusively breastfeeding. Super easy to clean as well.

I’m a first time mum with a 7 week old baby. This is the best pump I’ve bought. I’ve bought a 15 manual hand pump before which hurts your hand after a while and takes longer to get the milk out. I also have tried the medala electric pump in the neonatal unit which I had to hold them on my breasts. This pump is easy as you don’t have to hold it if you suction it well enough. It doesn’t Hurt If you attach it correctly. It removes the milk well and for the price it’s worth it. I’ve also got the ladybugs which are great to use instead of pads which just waste the milk and also saves you money! Buy it!

I ADORE this pump! I have a hard time calling it a pump but it’s helped me out so much! I use it on the opposite side he feeds on and it collects usually 2 oz for me now! At first it was just around one but over the last week or so it’s increased (frequency makes more supply). I would use my baby Buddha pump on that side and it wouldn’t even get an ounce after 30 minutes of pumping! I recommend wearing in the shower to collect supply then too! I only wished I had gotten the one with the cover, but I usually bring a collection bottle with me wherever I’m using it. And it does work if you’re bigger chested like me (36G).

What I love most: No wires. One piece and so easy to clean. Nice thick silicone gets a great suction! Easy to sterilize. No extra parts! I just put in a sandwich bag with a collection bottle and throw in my diaper bag or purse on the go.

This Product was a game changer for me. I only pump breast milk for my daughter and I was looking for something to break up electric pumping all the time. I needed another option that required no thinking or work and then I came upon this product. I use it when I feed her, sit on the couch, want to move around etc. It lets me have more mobility without spending a ton on money on a portable pump and it does a great job. As other reviewers suggest watch a You Tube how to before you use them for the first time to have the best luck with product. Also I would recommend emptying often (I keep a empty bottle to fill up around me when I am using them) which will prevent losing milk. The only downside to these is they are a little awkward and will come off if hit just right but its such a small downside. I went from barely pumping 26oz a day to pumping almost 40oz a day. I only pump 6 times on average a day and I am on mth 3 of 12 so fingers crossed these help me go the whole 12 instead of quitting at 6 like I did for my son. I have 2 sets (so 4 total) and highly recommend.

Love this product and have recommended to breastfeeding friends.

I used an electric pump with my first baby but ended up using formula when I hadn’t pumped enough milk (mainly down to not having time to clean, sterilise, sit there and hold the pumps for 10 mins!). A friend told me how good the Haakaa is and I’m now pumping an average of 5 ounces every day. It’s so easy to use, I’ve used it whilst feeding my baby but also had it on whilst getting my toddler ready for nursery!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI got my first Haakaa while I was pregnant. I started using it early on and loved it so much that I bought another. I think these are so easy and cheap that every nursing mom should try one.

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because my two Haakaas aren’t exactly the same. One of mine is much firmer silicone than the other. It’s a stronger suction and a little more difficult to put on one handed (like when trying to put it on while holding a baby). I have to remember to squeeze the firmer one a little less as well or the suction can get a little intense. I don’t actually have a preference between them but I feel like the product should be more consistent since some moms might prefer a softer or firmer silicone.

Overall, I highly recommend and if you’re reading reviews to decide if you want to buy one, go ahead and do it.

This is going to increase supply so be mindful of that when your milk is coming in.
I think I had oversupply with using this because I was all about ‘must catch all let down to build freezer supply’ so started using it a few days after starting breastfeeding.
Once supply was established it just made not getting milk everywhere less hassle.
Needs a lid – so many times a full haakka was spilt.
Truth: baby refuses bottle and only wants boob so don’t be so hard on yourself to with whole ‘ build a stash’ mantra if it stresses you out.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAuf Empfehlung meiner Hebamme habe ich mir diese “Pumpe” bestellt.
Was soll ich sagen? Mega!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLo uso per tirare il latte finch la bimba attaccata all’altro seno.

My health visitor recommended this product to help with engorgement. I use it to capture let down from the breast I’m not feeding from, to fully empty a breast or just to release a bit of pressure. The pump is gentler than me electric pump which is helpful if you’re not trying to stimulate more milk production.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m so surprised with this pump! I would never expect that much of effectiveness from such thing. You don’t have to pump at all! Just suck it on a breast while feeding with another breast and that’s it. It holds by itself cuz of vacuum and your milk gathers inside the pump. It took me 5 min to collect 30 ml. Amazing.

This pump works so well. I’m so impressed with it and thankful I purchased it. The suction works very well and it’s comfortable. It’s also a time saver and very easy way to build up a stash of frozen breast milk. Highly recommend this product. Definitely worth the price.

Great pump to collect the let downs and you do not have to face any pain in washing and sterilisation like the gazillion parts of manual and electric pump. Dropping one star as it does not come with a cap which would have enabled the milk to be stored in i

Not the same as the photo, this is the gen 3 with is heavier than I wanted and so sometimes losses suction and comes off hence one less star but it is easy to use and I would recommend

I can’t tell how happy I am to find this product. This catches the let down milk and I have been using this product ‘n number of times . This has solved my issue of milk wetting my dress , the pain of not letting off and used if u have oversupply in one .

Never had pain while attaching it . Over suction to attach causes pain. See few tutorials and do some trial and error . It’s worth it.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersGood product.

About the usage, the suction is quite good for my purposes, sometimes it takes a few squeezes for let down to start. But otherwise fine.

I use it for 3 situations
    1. I was asked to make sure baby gets more hind milk then fore milk. So started expressing to get 10 or so ml out first. Kind of time consuming when done by hand. With this, I attach and get it working and within a minute or lesser It pumps out 10 to 30 ml (based on engorgement). Takes no time at all.

    2. When engorged and in pain. To remove the excess.

    3. When I’m having random let downs when baby doesn’t want to feed. I just hold it in place to collect the letdown.

    Speaking generally though
So far for me, after it suctions out the initial ounce it’s difficult to get the suction going. I have to empty out the initial 30 ml and attach it again and only then does it suction out more milk. So I’m not sure how well this will work for exclusive pumping or deliberately pumping to save for later. It might get time consuming.

    Other points to note
    1. Literally only a single piece, so easy to travel with and use.
    2. Generally speaking easy to clean and sterilise.
    3. So far, no change or reduction in suction power or anything.
    4. The advantage this has over a manual pump is its hands free. Don’t have to physically pump.
    5. The disadvantage would be that manual pumps can probably pump more and in a efficient manner for more quantity.
    6. There’s a measurement in ml on the pump. Convenient.

Rating it 5, since it’s extremely suitable for my purposes. Bought it 760 or so. Worth the price at that rate.

Golden Review Award: 597 From Our UsersThis is the best $12 I’ve ever spent. I am an exclusive pumper (by necessity, not by choice), and I have heard many people say that they’ve had better luck with manual pumps than electric ones, so I started researching them. I had heard and read so many wonderful things about this Haakaa that I really wanted to try it, but I was not sure it would work for me because the only people who seemed to review it were those who are able to put their babies to the breast; they report feeding the baby on one breast and using the Haakaa pump on the unoccupied breast, which I obviously cannot do. I was hesitant to buy it because I was afraid that this model would not work for an exclusive pumper (everyone describes it not as a “pump” per se, but rather a “milk catcher” of sorts), and that it was only meant for those who could breastfeed their babies straight from the tap. But I figured, hey, it’s only twelve bucks, and if it doesn’t work for me, I can always give it to someone else who can use it. Boy, was I wrong! This thing is awesome!

As soon as it arrived, I washed and sterilized it, and immediately stuck it to my breast. Within seconds, I was collecting drops of milk. At first I thought, “Oh boy, this wasn’t even worth it, it’s just a few drops,” but after about ten minutes, I had collected about a half ounce. And let me be clear here: I usually have to work hard for my milk. I am not one of those leaky women who can’t keep her milk from spilling out; I rarely have to wear breast pads, and I usually have to sit at the pump for a good minute or so before anything starts to happen. So if it works for me, it should work for anyone who’s producing any milk at all.

The cool thing about this Haakaa is that you don’t have to sit in one spot to collect milk; you can put on a big tee shirt and walk around the house and do whatever you need to do while you’re discreetly collecting milk (okay, so maybe it’s not that discreet–it does protrude in the shirt, but still!). I collected about two ounces just from wearing it around the house for about twenty to twenty five minutes! I am ordering a second one so that I can hopefully double my output and cut down on the time I have to spend tethered to the electric pump. Oh, and an added bonus that I didn’t expect: I think the Haakaa has actually INCREASED my output, and I’ve only used it one time! I took it off earlier, and I immediately started leaking milk and soaking the front of my shirt–something I have NEVER had a problem with before (but hey, it’s a good problem to have if it means feeding my son)! Hooray!

I do recommend what other reviewers have said in that you really should fold the flange down (invert it) before suctioning this cup to the breast. It makes the suction much, much better. I’ve seen where others complain that the measurements are just a tiny bit off, but WHO CARES?! Unless you plan on giving the milk to your kid straight from the Haakaa (which I doubt), you’re going to be pouring it into a bottle or freezer bag with accurate measurements anyway. I plan on using this in the shower tomorrow because I often find myself crying over spilled milk when I watch my letdown happen and that precious gold goes down the drain!

Bottom line? This thing is $12. Just get it. You won’t be sorry.

ATTN: EXCLUSIVE PUMPERS! OMG, OMG, OMG!

I love it & got 90ml the very first time, but now that my supply & let down are regulating I’m lucky to get 20ml. It almost doesn’t seem worth the effort now, but I do like that milk doesn’t go to waste if I use it.

Golden Review Award: 719 From Our UsersA little background. For the first month of my daughter’s life I exclusively pumped due to early on nipple confusion and inverted nipples that made breastfeeding a painful and stressful. Now hear me out I LOVE my Spectra2 electric pump, but after exclusively pumping for a month I realized quickly that it wouldn’t be sustainable (AKA it was miserably time consuming). With the use of a nipple shield I am now able to successfully nurse. From pumping all the time I had a consistent oversupply that lead to some serious engorgement. As much as I was happy to keep my supply up to build a freezer stash I was looking for a more comfortable and less time consuming way to collect milk- in comes the Haakaa.

    Pros:
    1) Can be used while nursing OR pumping on the opposite breast.
    2) Consistently pulls 2-3 oz per feeding/ pump/ let down.
    3) When applied correctly it is VERY comfortable.
    4) Compact- great for travel or use in the car. It takes up very little room in the diaper bag.

    Cons:
    1) If you have a squirmy baby they may be able to kick the pump off.
    2) The measurements are about .5 a ML off. If you are freezing or storing that milk be sure to measure separately to get an accurate amount.
    3) Totally worth it to buy the lid or flower stopper. I have only ever had it tip once but it is still disappointing to see liquid gold go to waste.

Final thoughts- I have spent in upwards of $400.00+ to find a breastfeeding solution that works for me and my baby. If I would have known a $15.00 pump would be that solution I would have bought it a lot sooner and saved myself a lot of headache, stress, and painful boobs. Seriously even if it doesn’t work for you what is $15 in the grand scheme of things? Buy the pump, build a stash, and love nursing your kiddo.

Golden Review Award: 421 From Our UsersOver the first 24hrs of having this I’ve pulled over 10oz of otherwised wasted milk! I can’t believe how well it works! Initially I was concerned that it wouldn’t work because I do not leak that much at all. If you are one of those people…rest assured the suction totally changes this! I have the 90oz 1st generation haakaa and am glad I went with this one just because it’s the smallest one. There isn’t a ton of room to use it when feeding your baby so this size worked well for me. Also cleaning it is very fast compared to pumping parts. I am still electric pumping once In the morning as well, but overal this will help me double my milk stash quickly. Get it ladies…you won’t be disappointed!!!
