Helly Hansen Women's W Aden Insulated Coa
Helly Hansen
From our home in Norway, Helly Hansen has been making professional grade gear to help people stay and feel alive for more than 140 years.
It all started in 1877 when sea captain Helly Juell Hansen found a better way to stay protected from the harsh Norwegian elements. Soon thereafter, Captain Hansen and his wife Margrethe launched a business producing waterproof oilskin jackets, trousers, sou’westers and tarpaulins made from coarse linen soaked in linseed oil – and the legend was born!
1877: Captain Helly Juell Hansen Launches A Legend
Norwegian captain Helly Juell Hansen wanted to find a better way to protect his sailors from the harsh, Nordic weather. By applying linseed oil to cotton canvas, he created supple, water-proof apparel. Soon after, he and his wife Margarethe started producing “oilskin” jackets and pants in Moss, Norway. Their waterproof gear was an immediate success, landing our first product award at the World Expo in Paris in 1878.
1970: Lifa – The Birth Of Technical Baselayer
HH’s LIFA revolutionized the industry with the introduction of the first technical baselayers. LIFA moves moisture away from the body allowing users to stay warm and comfortable. It has been used by professionals on every ocean, many of the world’s tallest peaks and was included in Outside Magazine’s list of The Most Influential Gear of All Time in 2012. LIFA remains the cornerstone of what we believe is the best technical baselayer available today.
1984: Helly Tech – The Waterproof And Breathable Solution
Helly Tech waterproof and breathable fabric was launched in the 1980’s, winning awards and setting the new standard for performance and protection. It also provided the final layer for the 1986 introduction of the Helly Hansen 3-Layer System, an industry-first program educating people on how to dress for the outdoors. Today, Helly Tech fabrics are engineered to deliver the specific demands of professional’s skiers, sailors, and at workplaces around the world.
2012: H² Flow – A Better Solution For Temperature Regulation
Helly Hansen introduced the new H2 Flow Technology in 2012 with the H2 Flow Jacket, which won an Award for Design Excellence from the Norwegian Design Council. The patented H2 Flow Jacket features an airflow venting system and a protective barrier. It allows adventurers to efficiently regulate their body temperature.

LifaLIFA is our best moisture management base layer that is great for light insulation all year round. Made from a light-weight, two layer fabric that is excellent in moving moisture away from the skin; it enables the user to feel warm and comfortable. The Lifa technology works best when layered under another garment, as the more garments you wear, the further the sweat and moisture will be transported out of the fabric and away from your skin. | Helly TechHelly Tech is the waterproof and breathable outer layer between you and the elements. Its unique membrane will keep water molecules out, while allowing sweat vapor to pass through – keeping you dry from the outside and comfortable on the inside. | H2 FlowH2Flow is a temperature regulation system that was developed together with mountain professionals to provide skiers with versatility and comfort in changing weather conditions and fluctuating activity levels. The technology keeps you warm by storing hot air, and also allows you to cool down through ventilation zippers. | LifaloftLIFALOFT is an insulation revolution that will keep you warmer with less weight and bulk due to the unique LIFA yarn technology. LIFALOFT insulation is based on a yarn technology that traps more air vs polyester at a lighter weight. The fiber doesn´t absorbs water and has inherit water repellency without the need for treatment due to the hydrophobic properties of the Lifa fibers which makes this insulation technology ideally for year around adventures in any condition and keeps you warm even when wet. Less carbon and water footprint vs comparable polyester for a lower environmental impact. |

This is the second Helly Hasen jacket I bought. It keeps you warm and is 100% water proof. The jacket is not heavy to ware and fells light weight. I ware the jacket for going to my kid football games and walking the dog. I know have a black and white jacket. I am 5foot 5 and the jacket comes down to about 1inch above my knees. I’m between a size 16/ 18 and bought xxl. I can get a top and cardigan under jacket , I’ve also worn a thick jumper and still have a little room. Would definitely buy again. Hooe this helps other buyers.

Lightweight but keeps you cosy in winter.
I love this jacket, had three Helly Hansen belfast jackets in the past and was looking for another black one. Didnt have the belfast in black in my size but the aiden jacket had my size so purchased one. The aiden is a fantastic jacket and although feels lightweight it holds the heat in better than some heavier jackets I own, its also windproof and waterproof. I then treated myself to a navy belfast jacket so win win for me. Both of these jackets are beautiful on and can be worn everyday or on a night out with casual attire. Delivery was very quick, would reccomend both the seller and both jackets to anybody. They are a bit expensive but the last for years and still look brand new. All in all very happy with my purchases. If you have been looking for a perfect rain/windproof/warm jacket, these wont dissapoint.

I love the length of the jacket and that it has double zippers. It keeps me warm and dry in the rain, a perfect fall/spring jacket.

Wore Costco thermals, t-shirt, and jeans. The coat kept me warm while having to walk through wind and snow to and from work. Never overheated, never got too chilly. A good investment. Simple, clean look. I really hate puffer jackets.
