1st one had a damaged box and was faulty, I ordered a replacement and it was with me the next day, brilliant service and I am pleased to say that it works perfectly
Great for someone that have low mobility and want to get on thee feet it helps to get the blood flow going again and you can do a long as you want and even sit and watch tv well worth the buy
Brought for my 94 yr old mum, would definitely recommend, my mum can’t get out much due to her age so this is brilliant for her to use every day just to keep her legs moving! She has it on setting 3 and it’s just right for her! With its gentle motion back and forth she still feels like it’s doing some good for her legs.
This was bought for my 91 year old father, his mobility is getting very bad and he is very unsteady on his feet now.
We thought it was a good idea to keep his joints and muscle moving.
It’s absolutely brilliant and he loves it, he says that he can feel the muscles in the back of his legs working and he doesn’t have to worry about falling over while he just sits in his chair.
It is good, only bad thing was it didn’t have a 13amp plug only a 2pin plug.
We tested this machine with respect and it is helpful to use, hence it helped, actually improved the blood circulation! Now my circulation is even better! A trusted review.
Good value and easy to use. My dad and mum love i
All seems OK not had it long enough to judge how effective it is to strengthen legs or help. Mobility.
It doesn’t move as fast as I thought it would but it’s ok
This item has been great to use and has helped my surculation when i am unable to get out and abou
I have multiple cirrhosis, I woke up one morning and I couldn’t walk I had lots of physio to help me walk again From the hospital, but when home sat in chair watching TV or reading this replicates walking steps although you don’t have any pressure on your legs but for me it worked magnificently would 100% recommend this especially if one suffers with what I did.
I use this for 30 minutes each day and it seems to be helping my lower let circulation as the calf aching is definitely reducing
Hoping for great things from this. Arthritic knees make walking tiring and painful. With this I can exercise whenever I want without going out in bad weather. Would have liked a slightly longer foot travel on the 3 setting though.
HoMedics Leg Exerciser, easy to use , just the job for onder pc desk, keeps legs moving while sat at pc fo hours
like it all took my swelling down on my knee easy to use and remote control is good
Got this for my mum, she say its really good and helps her legs alot.
Very easy to use. Much better than I thought it would be.. very relaxing. I feel it is helping me.
The remote helps with the ease of use so not too much bending to turn settings on and off
Helps my father to move his feet more. As he’s not walking much anymore. Twice a day.. and it has 3 levels.
This is really great, I bought this for my dad and he has regained strength in his legs. He feels a lot more mobile since he started using this device. I recommend for all grandparents or parents who need that extra leg strength
Bought this for my 89-year-old mum who is unable to walk very far. I honestly thought it would sit under the table and not see the light of day – but she absolutely loves it! She uses it at least once a day and finds it very relaxing as the rhythm helps to calm her anxiety too. Well worth the money – highly recommended!
This helps with my circulation after exercise and I use at a warm down routine
good priced product but not said where it is made like many items from.
Love this machine it’s helped my legs highly recommend i
Good product and much cheaper than reviteive massager and very sturdy product. 🙂
3 gentle step walks that seem to help from the word go!
Worth every penny.
Very good. For my dad as he’s not walking as much as he should.
Very good made a big difference to stiffness in legs
get exercise for elders father who has swollen ankles and legs – helps greatly with circulation and overall movement in a seated position….wish had seen this a few years ago
got this for a friend whose very poorly and it helps her a lot.
Wow bought for my sister who has problems walking this has changed her life.
Thank you
So simple to use. My 92 year old mum loves it. She uses it regularly and I have seen an improvement in her walking.
A little disappointing as I thought it had more functions. It is very limited in what it does, but I suppose it does what is advertised.
Very strong and sturdy in construction.
imt’s rubbish it broke down doesn’t work anymore can I send it back
Easy to use but have not had it longenough to say how effective it is.
My Mum enjoys using it each day. she is still using the lowest setting and finds it easy to use
Bought for my dad who cannot get out and about as much as usual now. Easy to use and good for his circulatio
If used very regularly is a very good addition to provide some leg exercise in bad weather.
I have been in hospital with cellulites and have arthritis in my knee it has been brilliant the leg doesn’t swell like it was wouldn’t be without it use it three times a day great result..
Very easy to use, and so good having a remote control.
I bought this for my parents and it’s very easy to use, it’s just they said it’s a bit noisy
Suitable for anyone that can’t do or has difficulty doing normal excercise. It very gently move the feet back and forward
Without the need of any effort from the user
So in effect it is manipulating the leg joints. Ideal for those recovering from operations etc.
My husband has limited mobility but I can see an improvement after using this machine
Machine seems to be doing the job.I can’t really tell much of a difference between no.1 speed & no.3 hence only 4 stars.
Easy action and I haven’t had cramp in my calf muscle since using it “touch wood”
I bought this for my grandma who has been suffering pains in her legs and joints since being stuck indoors. Its really good to get the blood circulation flowing and easy to set up and use. My grandma loves it especially the different levels as they aren’t too exhausting for her. Prompt delivery too.
I use a wheelchair full time and this is an easy way to get blood travelling through my legs.
Bought for my 84 year old mother in law
She is delighted with it. Says the swelling in her ankles has gone and her calf muscles feel firmer. Definitely a good buy
This product has helped my 96 year old mother to get more mobile.
Excellent machine, was brought for my mother to help her exercise
It helps my partner and me to do a bit of exersize on our legs , we have both had leg problems and we find we can sit
In a chair and do some exersize , we only do light exersize as we don’t want the problem back again , Ideal for what we want to do .
Very easy to use, you can sit & relax while my legs are exercising.
Like it very much,I’m sure it is helping my Edema excema.
…great goods, super value, arrived on time – recommended A+++ Mum had a stroke, this was a quick buy after some research ( via Amazon reviews ), it really is a great buy, used all the time -following the instructions of course and we haven’t had any problem at all…although initially, Mum needed to have someone else there to set it up…
This Is An Absolutely Fantastic Machine. I do a lot of writing so I have it under my table And use it at least Once a Day Twice if I can.
I find that it does better than my Circulation Booster
I Would Highly Recommend HoMedics Leg Exerciser It certainly gives you a new Life.
I am 82 Have a left hip replacement Right hip a bit out of kilt A few Torn tendons. But Keep Going
I must STATE many times I could not feel My toes No Problem Any More thanks to this Great piece of equipme
love this leg exerciser as cant walk very far these days
Husband seems to be using it as he sits at a desk all day. No problems.
THIS HAS PROVED TO BE SOMETHING I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT BEFORE
Arrived the next day. Easy to set up and use the 3 different settings. It looks good and I can’t wait to give it to my elderly Father for Christmas. It is very useful that it is eligible to return until 31 Jan 217 as this allows my Father to properly try it out. So far it has been an excellent purchase.
My HoMedics Leg Exerciser has already arrived!!, it arrived by almost return post!!, & its fantastic!!, I’m very pleased with it so far!, I’ve already noticed its helping my circulation!, & I’ve had it less than 24 hours!!, a few reviews say the product is heavy, yes its heavy but the heavy part is the motor, the rest of the product is plastic & is not heavy at’ll, plus there is a remote control that comes included with the product, so once you’ve found a comfortable sitting area, just put the leg exerciser on the floor!, put your feet on it switch on & away you go!!, the whole unit comes with instructions, & batteries for the remote control, so if your a wheelchair user with circulation troubles like myself, or just finding your legs could do with a bit of movement after sitting or whilst watching tv, then give the leg exerciser a go!!, one word of warning for people who are pregnant or have pacemakers, then even before you buy or use the product, then please consult your Doctor!!.
A total must if your disabled or elderly, as it helps improve your circulation whilst sitting for long periods!!.
This is being used by my father who is 82 and has mobility problems due to having suffered several strokes and suffering from Parkinsons. Firstly he was able to set this up himself with no assistance, so first positive is that it is incredibly easy to use. We had his visiting physio take a look and she gave this the thumbs up. The unit itself is sturdy and appears to be well made. Having gone through a few cheaper circulation booster type machines there appears to be a lot of tat out there, I suspect this will last longer. One point, and this is by no means a negative, you need to be in a fairly upright position to use this comfortably. Overall a good piece of equipment and will hopefully help to keep my father mobile for a while longer.
When the unit arrived I was extremely impressed at how well packaged it was and more care and attention had been given to the fact that the machine is most likely to be used by the elderly so apart from putting the batteries into the remote control unit, there is nothing else to do to set it up. The machine is quite heavy and solid so it would possibly require someone to help set it up somewhere for another person of impaired mobility.
First thing to be aware of is that the unit is not to stood upon, the instructions are quite explicit that the machine is to simply be used to increase mobility by gently working the joints in the knees and ankles. The user of the machine simply sits in a comfortable chair, places their feet on the machine and away it goes. Advice is to use the machine for around 20-30 mins at most in a single session and our test subject ( my father ) confirmed that around that time it started to feel good but also a little achey in places. My father was impressed that something so gentle worked so well and was so beneficial.
The unit is a very well made, very well designed and does the job it’s designed to do very well indeed. The only negative point is one that can’t really be helped, the unit itself is quite heavy and once set up would most likely need to be left in place in order to be available for regular use, someone with impaired mobility may find it tricky to bend down and move the unit around so best to get a friend of carer to set it up somewhere out of the way so it doesn’t have to moved out to be used.
Very impressed and I will recommending it to others.
HoMedics Leg Exerciser Model PSL-1000-GB
This is a useful device designed for HOME use only; it is NOT designed for professional use. If you have any health concerns then it is advisable to consult your doctor before using this Leg Exerciser.
This Leg Exerciser is for home use when mobility is challenged due to age, disability, reduced mobility or illness. I am retired but am active with dog walking, gardening, housework etc. but like a lot of people, can be a bit static in the evenings when watching TV. I love that at this point in the day I can sit comfortably but still top up on leg exercise. I suffer from poor circulation and cramp and I find that using this machine is bringing about good improvement.
I can remember when younger and recovering from illness, that wobbly feeling when trying to get back to normal. This Leg Exerciser would have been a real boon to have at times such as illness. It has so many useful applications for a family that although it is not cheap (current RRP 229.99 but cheaper on Amazon), it is a worthwhile investment as a health and mobility aid.
Importantly it carries a 2 year Guarantee
Gentle, easy to start and you feel you’ve accomplished a work-out. We’ve let two demographics use this, firstly an older lady, whom has had two replacement knees recently. For her, this was a god-send, it was perfect for her to get some exercise without putting weight on her recovering joints, it made her feel better and we believe sped up her recovery. She’s going to be using the unit in the longer term.
The other demographic was a late-thirties desk bound worker… The idea being to give them some exercise whilst stuck at their desk… For him, it didn’t work, the unit is quite large, it make a constant noise whilst working, and it looks a bit daft aesthetically. it could have easily been a more neutral shade of coloured plastic, but turquoise and cream?… It’s almost an embarrassing item to see lying around the home, let alone in the office.
But, this latter is really not whom this product is targetted at, it is; to put it as delicately as one can; for the elderly. For immobile old people who require to get some excercise whilst they sit and relax. For them, it’s perhaps a perfect, the colour for them is good for spotting the controls and knowing where to place your feet, it works…. It works as a device for the elderly. Even on the box are pictures of older people, using it and smiling, using it and reading…
I can’t help but think this would be good for so many other users, whom need to get gentle, controlled leg exercise.
The key feature for this is that is does make you move, without being up and about, there is no need whatsoever to weight bare, whilst still getting an exercise, the immobile, the obese, the elderly, the disabled… If you think you need, or know someone who needs to get motivated, but without leaving their home, or without leaving their chair, this might be a golden first step.
The quality is quite good, it is a strong plastic, but plastic none-the-less.
However, I’m removing a star for one critical problem, to get the right height when sitting was a real chore, our dining tables were just too high, then the sofa just too low. Everyone is built different, but we had a real struggle to get the right and comfy angle with the surface level. If we were too low our knees felt very high, if too high it was almost like stretching down low.
A loved one in our family has been bedridden for a year with very severe ulcerated legs. It is only now that she It’s finally beginning to heal that she is now thinking about starting to learn to walk again.
As you can imagine this is a pretty serious business as a year in bed has resulted in severe muscle wastage.
She has to be assisted to a chair and at the moment her muscles are so weak she really cannot walk or stand unaided.
I couldn’t believe my luck when I was offered this product free in exchange for a review as it seems the perfect solution for her.
This product is a medical device not an exercise machine.
It is operated ONLY while you are sitting. Never stand on this device). simply place your feet on the pedals and either using the manual or remote control switch it on. There is an on off button, and three levels of difficulty. If you haven’t been able to walk for a whole year believe me even the lowest level will help.
My loved one has tried this and says she can really feel the muscles are getting a gentle workout. You must be very careful when using this on somebody that is bedridden or has severe walking difficulties and make sure that you get advice from your GP or medical advisor before using to avoid injury.
There is no way my loved one would have been able to get this sort of exercise so regularly and with such a low risk of harm. This is far safer than her trying to walk when she is at risk of falling over.
We are very pleased indeed so far. This really is a fantastic product when used correctly, and of course on the right individual for the right medical condition.
I could not be more happy to see that using this she will now start to make progress safely.
I cannot recommend this product highly enough. We are all absolutely delighted!
This HoMedics PSL-1000-GB Leg Exerciser comes well packed and the immediate impression is of a well made product – in the box apart from the device you get a remote with two AAA batteries and an instruction leaflet. The unit is quite heavy but has a built in grip for carrying and a reasonably long mains cable. This is a gentle exercise device which features three speeds/stride lengths.
In use the two rubber footplates move backwards and forwards at 3 speeds: slow, gentle, steady and there are 3 stride lengths. I’d stress that the rubber footplates only move backwards and forwards, there is no vertical movement at all. You can turn the device on and off and adjust the speed/stride length either via the commendably simple remote or by large buttons on the machine which you can operate using your feet. The setting is indicated by up to 3 blue LEDs which illuminate according to the setting you use. The machine will turn itself off after 15 minutes of operation although you can go straight into another cycle of operation.
Even on the highest setting this machine provides very, very gentle exercise. By co-incidence my 83 year old father is recovering from a leg/ankle injury and I lent him the machine to try. My father’s reaction is that this machine is just too gentle to feel like it’s doing him any good even on its highest setting. However, he did think that for someone who was partially chair bound this machine could be a helpful solution in keeping their legs/feet gently exercised.
In terms of price, particularly given that the machine only moves in a single plane eg. backwards and forwards we think it is expensive at its current price and if we didn’t know how much it was retailing for we’d expect to pay around 100 for it. The design is nice and simple for the target market although the user might still have to contend with carrying it to put it away and it isn’t light weighing in at around 6kg.
In summary, I’d say think very carefully about the specific needs of the user before buying this unit – it will be ideal for some people but distinctly underwhelming and of limited use to others as it is a very gentle leg/foot exerciser.
Does what it claims, quality good, rather slow in starting and noisy when selecting changes.
Lets face it, there are times when you just can’t be botherd to get on your bike, well you don’t have to with this little number. You just plonk your feet on it and away you go,nice and easy, watch tv read a paper.30 min a day, 3 speeds.Comes with remote control, instructios, and is very easy to use.I’m sure a lot of people would find this very beneficial.Recommend!!
Just what my Mother needed, NOT a fast exerciser but a gentle help to her circulation.
Well made and with the well remote is a perfect product.
I have only had my leg exercises for a couple of days, that’s why the four stars and not five. I am really pleased with this product. I am wheelchair bound and suffer with swollen legs and feet. After using the product I can feel and see the difference it has made. Would definitely recommend.
Good exercise for my wife who is recovering from a brokem mback.
Bought this for mum for christmas she loves it says it has helped her a lot so mums happy im happy
A well made and sturdy product. Well designed and user friendly with a lot of thought gone into detail. Very gentle exerciser. Don’t expect anything else! The sounds that it makes when changing from one speed to another are rather unusual. Overall I’d recommend this to anyone who is looking for very gentle leg exercise.
