What do you think you use a fridge freezer for? This one is excellent and a very good buy.

The fridge freezer was delivered around three weeks ago and is working well and quietly. However, I just registered it online and got quite a surpise from Hover. The sticker on the door was quite large and clearly states “Register Now for a10 Year’s Guarantee on Parts” but when registering Hoover said I now only have 11 months left of a 1 year guarantee and clearly stae that I only get one year of cover on the parts. As I went through the registration it constantly asked if I want to buy cover at a monthly rate. No matter how many times I declined it would ask if I am sure. Even at the end it asked why I declined and then asked me how I would pay if I change my mind? Hotpoint et al do come with a 10 years guarantee on parts but it appears Hoover say that to get a sale then don’t honour the offer. So, I have knocked one star off the rating as everything else in my review still stands.
I got this Hoover Fridge Freezer to replace my seven year old Hotpoint as it was on it’s way out. The Hotpoint struggled during last summer and recently the thermostat wasn’t working correctly thus the fridge in particular kept losing temperature.
So, I decided it’s time for the old Hotpoint to go and a new fridge freezer to be purchased. I am a fan of Hotpoint but sadly just couldn’t find a good one but I did see this Hoover and decided to buy it.
When the Fridge Freezer arrived the delivery guys made a comment about it being big and they were so correct. After they left I looked at it closely and it is much taller than my previous Fridge Freezer and only slightly deeper. The unit did come with a very slight dent on the fridge door but it is hardly noticable and it’s cosmetic so it won’t affect the performance.
As I opened the fridge door I was rather surprised at the internal capacity that the fridge has. I also noted the rather large crisper drawer as it has at least 5x the capacity of my previous product. Next was a quick look inside the freezer and again I was rather surprised at the capacity.
After leaving the unit to stand and settle a few hours I finally plugged it in and put the food that was removed from the old Fridge Freezer inside. Then my daughter and I went and did a bit of shopping and added some. There is still room left in the fridge for a little more food but the freezer is now quite empty considering what went in over 1/2 filled the old Hotpoint. So there’s another shopping run to do to top up the frozen foods.
Whilst the unit was cooling it was a little worrying as even on the highest setting the bunit was so silent. I had to put my ear to the side of the fridge freezer to check that it was working. Due to the internal capacity it took nearly a full day to get the temperature to my liking and it has remained that way since.
On the outside this is a little larger than my previous fridge freezer but it is huge on the inside, a bit deceptive like a TARDIS.
I am certainly recommending this fridge freezer as it is a bargain at the price it sells for. I checked many products and nmone could match this in the same price range and this is the largest one. It is well built and comes with a 10 year guarantee on parts. However, one must be aware that a parts guarantee means the parts the fridge freezer needs to function and does not cover the breakage of glass shelves or any breakdown caused by the misuse, negligence or accidental damage. The parts are only covered if they break down from normal wear and tear. This is a very good value product, it is so silent and it is energy efficient which given the increasing energy prices is a welcome bonus.

It’s much nicer than I expected and includes a wire bottle rack that I didn’t see in the photos. It cooled very quickly and it’s quiet. Can’t fault the delivery service.
