I decided to check back on this model to see if a new version was made and noticed the poor reviews. Im gonna be real here because im a huge gamer and I love my quality for sound. With that being said these headphones have provided and impeccable sound experience in gaming. I can actually spectate my friends games and tell them where enemies are for them because these headphones are that good. I hear better than the huge group I play with. I see a ton of reviews complaining about durability. I gotta tell you, i drop these things twice a day, on a carpet floor mind you, but from 4 feet up almost. Never has this headset broken or malfunctioned. Dont be a ragey gamer and they might last ;). I think the worst experience ive had is every blue moon they just shutoff. Its pretty rare, but i just turn them back on. Comfortability is also big need for me because I game all day sometimes, but I hardly ever get ear aches from it. I have big ears and they fit great honestly. The audio software i never dabble in. Audeze is interesting but i just set 3D Audio to “On” and LEAVE IT ALONE. Its all you need. Yes these are expensive. I wont lie there, but hey. 2 1/2 years later and still going strong. Ps the ear muffs have gotten slighty worn but nothing horrible. Its expected.

Love these! The HyperX Cloud Orbit S headphones sound fantastic to my ears. Like most gaming headphones, they aren’t the best for music, but having said that, they are miles better for listening to music than any other gaming headset I’ve owned (and there have been a lot!). If you want the best sound quality in your games for this price range then go no further.

    Some minor niggles:

    1. The Orbit software is pretty lame. Also I can’t see any way to expand the size of the window so it’s a struggle to see clearly on my 4K monitor. Although there are several EQ pre-sets, there is no option to be able to custom adjust EQ. This is a real pain, even though it’s simple enough to adjust the audio EQ via a 3rd party app, but then again, when you pay so much for a set of headphones, I shouldn’t have to do that. I’d describe the Orbit software as “just about adequate”.

    2. The clamping force of these headphone is quite tight. Sure you can loosen them a bit by some careful manipulation of the headband, but an adjustment to do this would be so much better.

Those niggles aside, this is easily the best sounding gaming headset I’ve ever used, and audio quality is far more important to me than extra features I’ll never use.

This is far by the best headset I’ve ever had, the sound is great and it is amazing for fps games especially on the 3d audio which allows you to pin point where other players are very accurately. There is one downside to the design, in the images I uploaded you see they snapped off after about a year of use, the point where they snapped is not smooth and It seems it was intentionally designed this way to compromise the integrity of the structure, whenever you put them on the point bends slightly and eventually it will snap or fracture, I am disappointed with this as they are expensive and would have expected a much more sturdy design.

Very good for for gaming but the construction has a weak poi

Bought this because my old Senheiser headset’s mic had issues. TL;DR Overall great, 4* because it feels a little tight.

    Pros:
    – Sound quality was great even without an amp. (Coming from someone who’s been using amps with gaming headsets)
    – Interesting 3D sound features based on the position of your head to your monitor/sound system. (I play on desktop so I don’t use it much, but it’s there and it exists!)
    – Multiple options to connect your headset to your devices: to USB type B, type C and 3.5mm audio jack.
    – Detachable + malleable mic
    – “Mic Mute” switch (which was the main reason I bought it)
    – I received comments from my gaming buddies that my mic made my voice exceptionally clearer and “better” in general.

    Cons:
    – Haven’t used an overear headset in a while so it feels kinda tight and the drivers drop too far down if I loossen the headset.
    – Rare complains that the headset bleeds sound into my mic.

Massive improvement over Cloud 2, at first they clamp onto your head and you might have a headache but don’t worry, few hours and the grip loosens.

    Few cons:
Software – very amateur software with very little customization, you can input your head dimensions
so it works better for you which is great! Although you are limited in terms of EQ. You cannot use any other software or eq as the Orbit software overrides anything else.

Bass – lacks in bass, I found that Hi-Fi with the Music preset still lacks that great bass that I know these headphones can produce.. Very weird thing happened where after installing Nvidia HD Audio Driver (which is made to enable audio through hdmi) it made the sound feel more real and warm (more bassy aswell) which is great.

Product quality. just like every pair of HyperX headphones I ever owned (5 pairs excluding the orbit).. .. the build quality is um .. .. VERY FLIMSY inside, after a week of using the right driver got loose, a lot of people have that problem too, where either static noise or driver loose, as always the inside of the headphones is in my opinion, made to break.. Cloud 2 were super easy to fix, all pairs of cloud 2 I owned (3 pairs) had the same problem, badly soldered wires. So the trend continues

Read reddit before buying, the static problem is non existent, the only time there is static is if you have the volume too high or too low while not playing any audio at all at the same time. If you have any kind of audio playing even on 1% there is no static. The static only appears on specific volume range and realistically you will never have them on 60%, static is caused by how the headphones are built, amplifier and mic are super close together, very tight build. Mobius from Audeze (bluetooth version of these headphones) have it worse, because of extra batteries, static is an actual problem on mobius but Orbit is fine.

Maybe I overexplained these problems, don’t get thrown off by this, these are really a great pair of headphones, just with a couple little flaws. A lot of people mistake the sound the cushion make if you press on them as static, which sound very similar.

Man HyperX and Audeze colab on these is literally the best thing since slice bread!
Those 100mm drivers are NO JOKE… Owned a LOT of gaming headsets and as a PS5 / console player we’re limited because 90% of the time on so called high end headphones settings / tweaks don’t carry over from PC…and these work RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX no software needed to change settings and audio is LOUD & CRYSTAL CLEAR soundstage really elevated my game since I can now pinpoint exactly where enemy footsteps are coming from… Even got called a hacker today because I prefired at someone who was in a hallway coming towards me and I could hear him perfectly as he approached

    BEST GAMING HEADSET PERIOD.

I upgraded from the hyperx cloud 2. It wasn’t a night and day difference like many have suggested, but it is definitely better (in hi res mode and 7.1 mode). The improvement is especially more noticeable in the low end. It’s not as comfortable as the cloud 2 though, and weighs more. It was a bit too uncomfortable at first but gradually gets more comfortable. The mic isn’t great; I think the cloud 2’s mic is better but others think I sound better now, so take that with a grain of salt. Only the 2 channel/lowest quality more works on PS4, so I wouldn’t recommend it for console gamers. The gimmicky 3D audio mode which I didn’t care about at first is actually a nice touch; I like tilting my head to the side and letting the sound pass over me as it recenters (but I don’t think it helps with positionality). Overall I think it’s about 40% better than the cloud 2, in terms of audio quality, but when I got it at first I would have said about 20% better. It’s not worth full price though, so you should wait for a sale.

If you have any doubts about buying this headset don’t, it’s the best gaming headset available. It’s incredibly immersive, has one of, if not the best positional soundstage and sound quality available, music on hi res mode is a delight and it’s on another level compared to my previous 990 Pro and F5 Pro. The 3D head tracking works but adds little to gaming, alto it’s left on (manual) and fun to have, highly recommended.

Where do I start? This headset has so many functions and features I installed the software and immediately got a bit overwhelmed. I had to look up a YouTube tutorial on what settings I should be using to make this headset sound the best. After I had everything configured, I must say this is definitely one of the best headsets I’ve used.

I would recommend them to anyone seeking sound quality in a closed design form factor. Be warned that this headset isn’t joking around when it says it’s noise cancelling. It makes your ears feel like they’re in prison.

The leather earpads are rather firm which also doesn’t compliment comfort that greatly. But I understand that’s very much a preference thing and not something I can critique the headset on overall.

They sound awesome, but they don’t feel great.

Oh and having to turn them on even with a wire plugged in is really annoying. They should automatically turn on and tell you they’re in wired mode. Turning off when you unplug the USB cable.

I have had a lot of expensive gaming headphones, with my favorite one being the Asus Centurion that is true 7.1 surround sound in the cans and these headphones blow the surround sound out of the park when compared to those through just simulation. Some people say the 3D space tech in the cans are a gimmick but I find it to be the best way of doing surround sound. It just makes sense to have the front of the sound to always be coming from the screen and not be tied to the cans. I mean, it’s just obvious that would work best especially since that’s how it works when you sit down on your couch and use your standing surround unit. And the details of the sound utilizing the 100mm planar drivers make a massive difference from your typical 50mm diaphragm drivers of other headsets.

I was torn between this model and the Audeze Mobius and am glad I went with this one. The only real difference is that bluetooth is not an option with the hyperx but I wasn’t planning on using it for that. If bluetooth is important to you, look at the Mobius. If not, these two headsets are otherwise identical.

Very good product, had an issue with the first one as it was having some distortion issues. Amazon quickly replaced the unit with a new one.
This one is working as intended.
The memory wire in the mic got a bit loose after a while (few months of use) which is a shame considering the price tag.

I have no issues with the software on Windows 10 and have not had any hardware issues so far. Works as intended.
The bass is accurate and precise, the sound is simply amazing for gaming and movies.

The top matt rubber coating is peeling off from the headband, so that is something to keep an eye on.

    Otherwise recommended!

Didn’t realize this was basically an Audeze Mobius headset with a Hyper X label on it. The ear pads are super squishy and comfy but didn’t make up for the small form factor and the top headband cushion was kinda narrow and didn’t feel great. Tested some music on it, sounded solid but nothing life changing. Wasn’t a fan of the “orbit” feature that just makes sound change it’s direction as you move your head; I can imagination cool applications for it in gaming but it wasn’t doing anything for me listening to music. If they fit my big head I might have kept them and tried gaming with them. Why don’t any of these companies make sizes for their damn headsets?? *shrug*

The 3D audio is gimmicky, but the planar magnetic drivers are orgasmic in Hi-Fi mode. The gimmick, however, is simply a nice-have. These headphones are incredible quality, and definitely worth the price – IF you can afford it, that is. (Credit cards and/or saving money are options worth considering!)

    Pros:
    -Comfortable with glasses.
-Head band is very soft, yet very strong. Like a patient Russian mother. Definitely pushes your hair down though.
-Planar. Magnetic. Drivers. I hear things in my songs now that I never heard before. Unreal.
-Extremely good frequency response. (Just because you can’t hear it, doesn’t mean you can’t feel it. There’s a VERY noticeable difference.)
-Head tracking works way better than expected.
-No noticeable delay in audio, even when tracking your head.
-Have I mentioned how good they sound? They sound really good.
-Detachable microphone is shockingly good for a headset. Not studio quality, but comparable. Perfect for streaming though.
-Uses USB-C, but can plug into USB-A.

    Cons:
-Holy sweet mother of mine are these expensive.
    -Expensive.
    -Not budget-friendly.
    -My wallet is still screaming.
-Proprietary software required for optimal use.

    Unknown:
-Potentially wireless. Tried unplugging them to restart them, but they stayed on. I don’t have a wireless card to test it.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWell, I’ve had this headset for about 8 months now, so I think I’m ready to give it a final verdict.

I LOVE this thing. Just wanted to say this first. It’s hands-down the BEST sound I’ve ever heard from a “gaming” headset, this is truly on par with some audiophile headphones at 3x the price. The planar drivers deliver some really special sound.

Secondly: This is a PC-FIRST headset. You will NOT be able to take full advantage of it’s feature set using current-gen consoles like the PS4 or XBOX One. The most efficient use for this headset, I would argue, is for high-end VR content on a PC.

But well… I had to get it replaced initially as there seem to be some issues with build quality among others. Don’t be surprised if you need to RMA at least once. There are all sorts of confusing issues related to firmware updates (DON’T DO IT, THIS WILL POTENTIALLY LEAD YOU TO AUDEZE FIRMWARE [if you don’t pay attention to the small print] WHICH WILL _BRICK_ THE USB PORT ON THE HEADSET SO YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO CHARGE IT — this is NOT fixable except by the manufacturer once you do it!) as well as some wonky wiring where the right ear will just cut out completely. Perhaps this has been addressed by now, I certainly hope so.

It takes a little bit of tinkering with, like actually measure your skull and enter those values into the software and it’ll do wonders for the positional audio (if you want to hear things coming from “above” or “below” you, this is an absolute must). The big gimmick here is the hardware-driven positional audio — which has 3 different settings, a manual mode where you hit the 3d button to calibrate the “forward” position (good for… let’s say, “adult” VR films where your head is on a swivel), an auto mode which gives you a sort of slow positional lag (a nifty enhancement for things like action movies, but generally useless), and the standard 8CH 3D mode that turns off the gyroscopes (for gaming, or you know… normal stuff).

Then there is the “High Res” mode which really does what it says and adds incredible fidelity to the sound, pushing the planar drivers to their 5-50,000Hz range limit, and the standard 2CH stereo mode which you’re restricted to if you use these with anything other than a PC.

The “comfort” of this set is a bit of a negative for me, as I also have a HyperX Revolver S which is less than half the price but feels like a virgin’s inner thighs strapped to your ears. This set you have to “wear in” as it’s a traditional “head clamp” + memory foam design and it’s quite tight at first. This creates a lot of air pressure inside the ear cups early on, which not only messes with the clarity of the sound but can also damage the film covering the planar drivers — These days, if I move my head too much while wearing them it sounds like a rustling plastic shopping bag. From what I’ve been told, the only way to fix this is to replace the drivers completely. Luckily I’m not very “kinetic” most of the time, and it’s not an issue during “normal” use.

Another build quality issue is the mechanisms for switching between the headset’s various “modes” — the volume control wheels need to be clicked inwards and then turned in order to toggle all the options. This would be fine and well, if they weren’t made of CHEAP plastic with LOOSE contacts. You’ll see what I mean once you’ve owned these for a while. Often, you can’t tell whether you’ve turned the wheel enough to register, or indeed too much and overshot your intended goal. “Did I just turn my microphone up? I thought I did, but it didn’t register, or “I didn’t get any feedback — now I’ve adjusted the equalizer and turned off USB charging accidentally… huh?!?” It can be pretty frustrating in the heat of the moment if you need to adjust things on the fly in a game or something.

10+++/10 sound (seriously the best sound you can get with a “gaming” headset right now, hands down)
    7/10 comfort
    5/10 build quality

PS: The microphone is NOT good. Like… at all. If mic quality is a major factor for you, you will need to replace the standard one. You can get decent quality sound out of it but in order to do so you’ll need to turn it all the way up and place it right up against your mouth, like literally touching it. It’s VERY sensitive to distance. People will recommend the V-Moda BoomPro to you, but DON’T get that one, it only works in the AUX port (not the dedicated microphone port), which disables the USB connection, thus shutting off all the nifty features. You need something with a fairly long 3.5mm plug as the port is quite deeply recessed, and something WITHOUT in-line volume control/etc.

This is an all-around great headset. This headset is on its own tier when it comes to sound quality. The bass response is fast, and the sound separation is awesome, and the detail is very high. Really good for shooters like Warzone or valorant when you’re trying to hear footsteps etc… With that being said you can tell the clear sound comes from the processing that happens within the headphones (Hard to identify if you’re not into the whole audiophile hobby) .The 3D sound feature works really well although I usually have it turned off when gaming. One minor annoyance is the mic which tends to be very quiet at times. I have to check to make sure my voice is projecting close to it. Overall happy with the purchase and if you’re looking for the top of the line gaming headset without wireless, then this is a proper solution.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI thought that I would write a review for this product as I was very impressed. I (like most of us) am isolating currently and I thought I would treat myself to a new gaming headset to better enjoy the experience (and not annoy the other half – which is equally if not more important). The Hyper-X Cloud Orbit S… or Audeze Mobius with branding, was… NOT this headset. I originally bought a SteelSeries Arctis Pro + Game DAC… however I can categorically confirm that this headset is plagued by a bug which causes it to randomly disappear from your devices when not in use (making you have to unplug and re-connect the headset); I reached out to the good folks at SteelSeries and they said this is a known issue (and has been since last year). Anyway – I digress; after returning the SteelSeries, I took a plunge on this (HyperX Cloud Orbit S), a considerably more expensive headset… and I am glad that I did. I actually did the research and bought it… before realising it was a re-branded Audeze Mobius… which caused a bit of panic as HyperX is a part Kingston and Audeze is well… Audeze. But in the end, I am glad that I actually got the HyperX one and I will cover why later.

Reviewing the headset itself; I would cover the sound as exceptional for a gaming headset of it’s price. I like expensive earphones and this hasn’t got anything on them… having said that they are not gaming headsets, a lot of them are open back and none have a microphone or USB connectivity. This does what it is designed for and it does it really well. I think the sound signature is tight, it has a decent amount of bass (I have never been a bass-head) and it is not too bright (I personally hate a lot of unnecessary highs everywhere). The detail is good (it makes the SteelSeries Arctis Pro + DAC sound like a late-night purchase 4 pair of “off-license headphones”).

If we look at design, there are things which could be improved on; I would not use this headset if you want to change settings 700 times in a live competition scenario – the buttons are largely small and not massively quick-use friendly. On the flip-side, it is comfortable; I have a large head and some headsets are either too tight due to clamping force or in the instance of the SteelSeries the damn headband was too small even on max setting. This WAS quite tight initially but then I saw online reviews which said just stretch the band out by opening it up with your hands (carefully) – I did this and it is now fine. The headband height adjust is also more than ample for even my big head so I would assume most folks would have no issues although if you have a particularly wide head, you may be in trouble with the clamp forces. The microphone is annoying… you either plug it in… or you don’t; you can bend it away from you but it typically lives in your field of view (this is a far cry from the SteelSeries Arctis which has its mike either in or pulled out of the headset itself… which is FANTASTIC). Lastly the pads are leather (or letherette but they feel like proper leather either way and they are soft, plush and comfortable. I must say I actually preferred the more “airy” pads on the SteelSeries but the HyperX/Audeze still does well. Another benefit is the pads are VERY easily interchangeable, they basically clip off/on complete with plastic mount points so no having to thread leather over plastic ridges etc; HyperX doesn’t tell you this but the Audeze Mobius pads fit (I have bought the gel/cooling for the Audeze Mobius pads and am currently using them on the HyperX now. Lastly, I would say that the headset is on the mid-heavy side… if you are expecting to throw the term “featherlight” about… you need to shop elsewhere; I have no issues with it at all but I don’t have any neck/back issues etc.

So considering the HyperX Cloud Orbit S is essentially a re-badged Audeze Mobius… why did I say I prefer the HyperX? In a nutshell it’s the service… Before I officially confirmed that the Audeze pads fit, I reached out to HyperX to ask where I can buy replacement pads for the headset, to their credit they replied and said you cannot yet (note the Audeze pads fit so its fine) but that they will send me out a set free of charge… that was it – I was impressed. On the flip-side, I wanted some bits from Audeze, who ship from the US; I wanted a replacement mic at $15… the postage was $52… I asked if they can just pop it in an envelope and send it via normal letter post and I received the reply that so much was being lost in normal mail that they only offer the $52 courier service… but note this is not to protect the consumer nor are they subsidising these costs. Anyway the features and drivers are identical on the headsets – even the software for the HyperX has Audeze branding in it. The main difference (for those who are interested) is that the Audeze Mobius HAS bluetooth connectivity – the HyperX does NOT. I don’t care about this as I don’t tend to use wireless headsets and a lot of the functionality is USB-only anyway, however if you absolutely must have a wireless headset then the Audeze Mobius is the way forward for you. On the flip-side, if you do want to use the Mobius/HyperX with your Android phone (and I wouldn’t as its bulky for outside use, but that’s personal preference), I CAN confirm that simply plugging it into my Galaxy S20 USB-C port, it just works… and even the virtual surround and head tracking (see -S model) still work so that’s useful.

Overall, I would say that if you are prepared to spend 300 on a gaming headset… you will be hard pressed to find one with better sound than the HyperX Cloud Orbit S/Audeze Mobius, that is not to say you cannot buy better sounding headphones for 300 or around that mark… but if you want an actual gaming headset, the drivers in the HyperX/Mobius will take you to a whole new place which stands resolutely above whatever dynamic drivers 99% of the competition use.

Lastly – as you are already considering spending close to 300 on a gaming headset if you are reading this review, I would suggest that you DO go for the -S (head tracking) version… the price difference (currently) is nominal in relation to the overall price… and it may be a gimmick (not denying that at all) but it is FUN, I have been using it for over a week now, even when listening to music and I have yet to disable it. If, on the other hand, you are going for the Audeze Mobius, then I believe that has this feature as default (there is no version without it) so you do not have to choose.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought the Arctus Pro + GameDAC and oh boy was it a let down. after two days the speakers were already crackling, and couldn’t handle the high gain their pathetic “DAC” puts out. the Hi-Fi gimmick is pretty funny and you’re paying mostly for that, and it’s advertising. Anyways, this is not an Arctus Review…thats a whole other pile of Sh!t.
That said, these Orbit S headphones are a beast. There’s an on-board sound processor (do not plug these into a DAC or you will break them), and they did an amazing job with this lower end version (material, not sound) version of the Audeze Mobius. As a former pro musician and hobbyist recording artist, I wouldn’t let my grandma listen to music over Bluetooth or any other form of wireless. Something is lost in wireless technology, no matter what they tell you or throw at you marketing-wise. It’s like…a zombie. It’s body works, but it has no soul lol. No, you cant mess around with a full spectrum EQ but they give you enough settings to keep 90% of people happy. If you’re in that 10%, then why are you even buying gaming headphones?
Their 3D tech is the best I’ve used (Thanks Audeze!) and these 100 mm drivers….damn son. I’ll never use dynamic again after these. Beware though, the only place to go from this level of sound is electrostatic Vaporized Platinum membranes lol. I’m kidding, there are a few levels in between, but for most people out there, the amount of money high end stuff costs will happily buy an average person a decent car haha.. no jokes.
If you play games and have half decent sound perception, just buy them, stay away from Arctus pro and its ridiculous proprietary connections…

So I ordered these headphones for when my husband is gaming on his PS4. He already has a headset for gaming but it’s always nice to have another set for when our children or his friends play the PlayStation with him in multi player mode.
The first thing to note is that they come at a premium price, but from opening the box that they are contained in the higher quality becomes apparent.
They are heavier than the ones that he already has, and I think this is due to the intricate earphones themselves, that are obviously made to a higher standard to allow for the features included.
My husband says that they are extremely comfortable despite the added weight, as the earphones themselves are very padded, which allows them to sit comfortably on the ears, and they are adjustable to allow them the perfect fit to your own head. There is also padding on the upper band of the headphones, to ensure you are not having hard plastic sitting on the top of your head. I’ve included photos of him wearing them so you can get an idea of how nicely they fit.
They operate via plugging them into your gaming controller. It’s just an easy to use set up- no tuning, multiple wiring, password encrypted nonsense. Literally plug them in and they are ready to go.
The sound quality is exactly as described- you feel as though you are immersed into the game once you are in game play mode, blocking all other noise and sound out, which means you are not distracted by outside noise. It gives a complete experience, 3D almost. A number of times I attempted to speak to my husband whilst he was gaming with them, and he couldn’t hear me at all. Frustrating for me, but brilliant for him!
They are fitted with a volume adjuster, so you are able to have them as loud as you like, or you can quiet them if loud sound is not your thing. You’ll still be just as immersed into the game, as they are fitted with noise cancelling technology, so outside noise will be drowned out regardless.
They also have the added benefit of being fitted with a microphone, which allows you to talk to your friends whilst playing in real life, or online. It is easily removable if it’s not a feature that you wish to use, or you can of course add and subtract it depending upon what you want to do at each gaming session.
They really are an impressive piece of technology, that aids in bringing gaming to life.

I hope you find my review helpful:

I bought this headset as a replacement for my old Stealth Nighthawk headset with a battery that was giving up the ghost. I wasn’t too interested in picking up another wireless headset, so I began doing my research and came upon this headset and I have to admit I’m so so impressed with his!! The sound quality is absolutely out of this world and offers a load of bass down low if that’s your thing. In terms of the build quality, it’s a headset which has a substantial feel to it (a little heavy) but not overly so — you can wear these for hours on-end without an issue.

The microphone pick-up is great and no longer do I need a separate, stand-alone microphone for my gaming needs. This headset also offers a “3D sound” system which effectively recreates a 7.1 surround system with head tracking. This means that sounds in front of you will play to the left of you if you turn your head to the right. I turn this feature off when listening to music as it’s not optimal for that, however, for games and movies, this is a brilliant feature.

When it comes to gaming headphones these must be at the top or very near as they have exceptional sound quality not heard on any of our previous headsets.

The bass is so refined and strong, the mid range are clear and the highs are of a clarity my partner hasn’t heard in a gaming headset before. The planer magnetic speakers seem to bring a lot to these headphones. Playing games is such a pleasure with the 7.1 surround sound directionality being so precise, it’s very very impressive.

While they are a bit heavy you don’t notice. In fact the earcups are so comfortable that he wore them almost the whole day with no complaint, I doubt he’s going to let these go anytime soon. They do have a battery in them but this is to ensure the same functionality is present when connected to say a phone or MP3 Player etc.

They have a few cable options USB B to USB A for the PC, USB C to USB C for laptops or phones and finally 3.5mm for phones and with 10 hours battery life (at 50% Volume) it should keep going till you get to a charge point.

You can control these headphones via the left ear cups as the volume and mic volume are also buttons which when pressed control whether they are 7.1, 2 channel or hi-res. Hi- Res is really fantastic when listening to music: practically audiophile quality on a gaming headset.

The noise cancelling microphone is quite good providing a clear and natural sound from the recordings no thinning of the voice at all. As a whole package it is well thought out and executed and even has a nice bag to carry it in when on the go.

I do have a few nit picks though with the software as it is quite slow and often just crashes. When working it can set up a 3D mode where the sound source is held in a middle position and as you turn your head they get louder either in the left or right hear. It is a bit gimmicky and possibly aimed at VR games later on and as such I prefer to turn it off. I hope the program will be updated to improve stability but it does provide a visual way of changing sound profile quickly such as music and several game profiles.

All in all these headphones really do deserve the 5 stars I am giving them and the price is somewhat justified in this case.

    Superb sound and functions

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are moderately heavy headphones, which to me says something positive about the build quality. I will divide my review up into a few sections below:

    ====================================
    SOUND AND MUSIC QUALITY
    ====================================
The sound (and music) quality is exceptional. We have multiple pairs of Bluetooth and wired headphones in the house ranging in price from very inexpensive to several hundreds of pounds in cost. I think that these HyperX headphones produce the best sound quality of any headphones I have personally experienced.

I like a lot of bass when playing games, watching films or listening to music – I like to almost be able to feel explosions on screen. The bass is usually the thing that is somewhat lacking in headphones – perhaps there can be some thinness to the bass or the bass is too pounding and distorted when the volume is turned up loud. However, the bass on these HyperX headphones is strong, distinctive and clear. I give 10 marks out of 10 for the bass as well as the sound quality overall.

    ====================================
    HEAD TRACKING FEATURE
    ====================================
The head tracking feature works well. When I turn my head to one side or the other, the orientation of the sounds definitely changes. Just make sure when you power the headphones on that you are facing straight at your screen – otherwise the headphones will detect ‘forwards’ as wherever your head happens to be turned at that moment.

The head tracking feature works even when listening to music on my phone. But to be honest I find it distracting for just music, so I turn it off.

    ====================================
    OTHER FEATURES
    ====================================
As I mentioned at the very start of this review, these are moderately heavy headphones. This is not a complaint at all – they are not at all uncomfortable. However, to me, the heaviness says something about the build quality and the weight of the drivers within the headphones. The headphones feel substantial and as if they are robust enough to last for a good few years.

The headphones come with three cables for connecting to either a traditional rectangular USB slot, a USB-C slot, or a headphone jack.

As you can see from the photos I uploaded, the microphone is detachable. The microphone picks up my voice very clearly and I’ve had no complaints about my voice being at all muffled or unclear.

The headphones also come with a thin cloth bag which is roomy enough to contain the headphones as well as all three cables plus the detachable mic.

    OVERALL
    ====================================
I’m very impressed by the quality of the sound on these HyperX headphones – whether listening to game sounds, movie soundtrack or music alone. My only slight disappointment is that these headphones require a wired connection as opposed to being operable via Bluetooth – but perhaps that is a limitation imposed by the head tracking technology. But that is really a small issue as the sound quality more than makes up for the small inconvenience of having to be wired.
