A bit sceptical about these cameras, but in use for almost 2 months now, ouside in rain and winter condition.what i needed was a cheap and working camera. This is the product.First:easy to install on camhi app,no need to be specialist to do it with both wifi or cable.good wifi, anyway to avoid any hassle i instal it via ethernet cable.very impressed with mic and speaker(you can hear clear from long distance and speaker loud and clear)
Picture quality hd witch is great(no lags).Colour night vision is a great feature as well,is very clear i ll never come back on black and white 🙂
I put on it sd card, and i have no trouble to access recordings.App never crashed, camera never crashed.
Finally and important in my case,as i need a working budget camera, this is the one.
Bought this camera more to observe what wildlife was coming to our garden rather than a security camera. Early days but my views so far:
I was a little daunted by the setup process but as it turned out I needn’t have been. I followed the limited printed instructions and downloaded the cloudedge app. It then took me through step by step and in no time I had a picture. Considering the light level I was suprised at the quality. I was hoping for a bit more resolution when I zoomed in but it might be better in full daylight. It is very easy to operate from my tablet and have also connected it to my wife’s phone as well. assuming all continues to be OK I will purchase another as a security camera for the rest of the house.
Really impressed with this camera. Night vision is great too with light. Picked the solar panel and it has kept good battery life even in winter.
Can have a good look up and down the street via the app. when needed.
Easy to connect and use. Amazing value but can’t imagine it lasting for years.
Dislikes: there is a delay in recording the video once an object is detected by a couple of seconds. Needs to have a percentage battery indicator. could have better picture quality. Could have had auto tracking feature, 30 cheaper on EBay.
Seals on the camera do not look that great so not sure how long will last . Cables are not the best design for outside installation but much cheaper than the battery operated units. Took a couple of hours to set up using a waterproof box as I already had power to outside light.
The camera is worth every penny as the features are good. Picture and video quality are spot on. Great camera for a reasonable price you can not go wrong as the camera is also user friendly. The battery file is good and the solar panel does it’s job keeping camera battery life topped up.
I have no complaints regarding this product. Easy to install and set up. Picture clarity is brilliant (night and day). Robust and easy on the eye when fitted in place. Once you have the hang of all the controls then it is easy to handle. This product has surpassed my expectations and would recommend it to anyone. Very happy with my purchase.
Bought two cameras upon recommendation from a friend. The cameras were delivered on time. Packed excellently and with clear instructions, they were extremely easy to install (90% of the time was spent on drilling holes in the wall). They came with their own set of screws and wall plugs, which were a perfect fit.
Cameras are easy to connect to the Wi-Fi and the IeGeek app. Takes only a little bandwidth. Initiates immediate response and alert when somebody approaches it, irrespective of day or night. Picture quality is good enough to identify a person at 15-20 feet (depending upon light). Have abundant options for setting alarm levels, battery management, and recording (only with Cloud service or SD card).
Strongly recommended for purchase.
This is the best battery security camera available at the right price. The camera is easy to setup and has multiple options available. You can select quality of video, set up siren/sound alarm, set detection zones and talk to a person on door.
Wow, these are great ,everything about them, 5 mins to put up..screw plate to the wall and the camera slips over I. DONE , connected to WiFi in 2 mins and phone app. GREATwhile your away from home. We bought 2 there that good….we had 8 of another brand and have since got rid..the fa t you can move them is so cool. Zoom..speak..alarm ect ..
seems a decent build quality easy to set up EXCEPT fitting micro sd card a nightmare inaccessible and cover snapped 128 GB New 318 card rendered useless
Very easy to setup, takes 5 mins quite literally, just need a small spirit level to ensure bracket is ‘square’ on the wall and not lob sided
I found the yellow drawing area useful for setting the trigger area for the alarm identify exactly where you want the trigger area.
Very easy to move the camera (pan / tilt) from within the app and to delete unwanted recordings
The battery appears to drop a 2-3 percent power per day so battery life so I would estimate would be 2 to three months depending on triggering of sensor and how long you set the recording for.
I set mine for 30 seconds
I really like this camera in the first week I have used i
Solid camera and well made, little bit bigger than what I was expecting. Very easy to install the app and connect via the Wi-Fi with easy user functionality.
Mine is set up outside on the garage about 20m from the broadband hub and the signal strength is good.
Cons. The sensor needs to be set to 10 (max) to pick up any movement which is about 6m from where it’s fitted on the garage to pick up anyone by the back door..any further could cause issues and not detect anything.
Also the unit is secured onto a fixing plate with 4 plastic screw fixings (2 in each side) that can easily be unscrewed and tampered with, it would have been better if the product was supplied with anti theft screws or fixings.
I love this camera works great only problem is the auto alarming function if you live on a busy road the automatic detection sense the reflection of light on your own car and notifies you as moveme
I like the picture quality it’s not brilliant but good for the money the big problem is the WiFi it’s range isn’t great I had to get a WiFi repeater for the playback to work properly
I like the user interface on the app and I have also tried a few other cams where the “alarm area” doesn’t always work.
With this cam’s software, you simply highlight specific areas of the image you wish to have triggered by motion sensor. This works well if you have an area within your cams frame that you do/don’t want to be monitored. For example, if you live by a road, the passing cars will trigger the alarm constantly, but if you select a certain area only, you won’t get constant notifications.
Also, a little tip: when in live view you can pan/tilt by simply swiping left/right/up/down. Which I think is handy.
I only wish it had a sort of “park mode” where if you pan around, you can simply tap “Park” and it goes back to default instead of having to move back manually.
Definitely worth the money.
Excellent camera for the price vision is brilliant motion detection and picture quality is very good definitely would buy again would recommend to anyone looking to buy one
Fantastic cameras highly recommended i have six cameras round my property
Iegeek customer service from Lisa has been 5+ star, she has been polite, understanding and very nice to interact with. on the strength of this i would not hesitate to buy from Iegeek in the future. 1st class service!
Installed inside my conservatory high on the wall looking at my back door. It scans the rear of the property from the inside. Easy to install using the App on my mobile phone. Plugged in to a local power point. Very pleased with my ieGeek security camera.
This is a very good camera. I already had Iegeek camera for my house and bought this for our office. This is every easy to install and link it to the app by just scanning the bar code. The best think is the 360 degree view on this camera.
Easy to install excellent quality night and day. Easy to adjust settings and distances from a mobile phone.
This camera is brilliant. I can’t praise it enough. Easy to use. Easy to adjust. We have recommend it to lots of neighbours we have a few on our street now. Thank you for the great product.
Camera work good but app is horible not working properly. All the time is problem
Instructions are not easy to follow if your not tacky minded
i used this product to go under my carport to cover the car. I was having problems connecting to WIFI and i emailed the manufacturers but had no reply and you cannot phone them as the only telephone number is in China. If i had known it was made in China i would not have bought it.
Really happy with my purchase the only issue i have is the recording that is not recording for the few days back, i have tried to configure it but it failed maybe i am not technical enough to do it, totally relly good canera best image quality
Best camera on the market can move round to cover the front of the house sends alerts to your phone right away no lag between the camera and recording and the picture on it is brilliant there customer service is excellent reply to your emails nearly right away no waiting for days on reply’s 5 star well done
Perfect camera for a first timer,
Motion detection works great, as soon as someone enters the garden the camera stays on them, so it works as a great deterrent.
Got this for eyes on the work van mostly, but it will work a great coming up to Xmas.
Keeps any potential burglars away.
Look, it’s not the best camera on the market, but it’s certainly not the worst.
Took 20mins to install and have it running,
And there lots of good features on it, I like the 2 way mic system, and alarm system.
Perfect for your 1st camera, get use to using them and then you can always upgrade.
Also a good support team too, which is always handy.
very nice camera, easy to set up and good picture quality
The camera is perfect you can turn it with yr phone and go up and down, zoom in and out if I had one issue and that’s it’s very sensitive at night and the illumination is so bright it’s blinding but in a fort yard that would excelle
Bought this after an attempted break in while we were asleep &for the money it’s great!
Good points -cheap, easy to set up, excellent night vision, siren/barking dog alarm when triggered, mobile phone app to access both live feed & recorded playback.
Bad points- even turning down the sensitivity the alarm is easily triggered! Short power wire which restricts placement. Even setting the system time several times its usually hours out when checking the recordings.
For the price its a cracking piece of equipment.
We have found the best thing ever!! Not for professional users. Very easy to use and very helpful. In my opinion maybe was more easy to fix it on the wall/ window/ door etc with a very sticky thing Than screw. Anyway very good product !!
Excellent camera at a reasonable price. Excellent night vision which can be set to colour, black & white or Auto. Works with the old CAMHI and CAHIPRO APPS.
1) It works just as good as the blink camera which is much cheaper and works just as well if not better
2) its not a 360 camera but it is close. it goes up, and side to side but it doesnt go downward which is really strange
3) it picks up sound really well but if your too close to the camera with your phone the static is unbearable so remember if you mute it to turn it back on
4) the battery life lasts around 3 months and i check mine multiple times daily
The quality of the product is good it’s very easy to set up and does what it says overhaul excellent produc
Had IeGeek cameras previously but they did not have audio so upgraded to these ones really happy with them easily installed and love that they have 2 way audio and that I can move them to look around through my mobile phone wherever I am picture quality is really good all in all a very happy customer who recommends these cameras
The product is a all round good piece of kit. Auto tracking n spot lights on. Easy set up too
My item arrived but it was faulty, the seller agreed to replace it for me and it arrived within a week of informing them of the issue. I’m very happy with this product, bit most of all I’m happy with the service I received from customer service.
Use for Outside Front of House…….Much better than previous two YCC365 (nightmare and customers service a nightmare. So far so good after 2 weeks……Fast and sharp, responsive…..Good app too.
Bought this for my dad. He put it outside high up on his shed. The app is typical for most of these Chinese budget cameras but it is well laid out and easy to navigate.
The camera has some great functionality. It can track people as they move. We tested this and it works perfectly. Motion detection and notification through the app works well. I haven’t seen the night vision myself but dad tells me it’s great.
The camera being outside and some distance from the router in the house (about 15m) was a concern as we thought signal might be an issue. But it has never been a problem. The antennae on the camera for WiFi are as big or bigger than most routers so can handle a weak signal well.
It’s a great piece of kit and a bargain, highly recommended.
We installed two cameras, one on the driveway and the other by the front door. Once set up with the WiFi, it’s ready to resite for wireless use in its intended place.
The phone interface is great, the memory card is essential to play back video and view photo stills taken.
Sends push alarm messages to your phone and has intelligent tracking, which puts your neighbour on alert!!
Voice communication is good also.
Good piece of kit but a bit on the large side for me
Bought this to monitor my back garden whilst away. The camera is very responsive to the Camhipro app it allows you to move the camera with almost no time lag. The camera is quite big, bigger than expected. It comes with three leads attachef, power, Ethernet and a reset, a lot of these cameras come like this and it’s a nuisance to have them trailing. On this camera it is possible to tuck them up into the bracket arm of the camera so they are out of sight..them image quality is good, especially the night vision. The colour might vision relies on the spotlight function which is very bright, I found it a nuisance due to false triggering so turned it off but it would be a good deterrent to intruders.. Overall pleased with it and found it easy to set up.
The install for the camera was easy and all functions work straight out of the box, if I can do it anyone can. Picture quality is good, crisp clear pictures and two way audio you can easily hear. The night vision and alerts work well and you can fine tune them so you are not constantly looking at your phone to see what’s going on.
I did run into a problem with the camera but this was dealt with quickly by the iegeek team who offer outstanding customer support they are very knowledgeable and can usually resolve your issue in no time at all. I have recommended this product to a number of my family and friends telling them they can buy with confidence from iegeek.
This unit is quite remarkable considering the price. It includes infra red night vision, LED motion activated light’. 360 degree viewing, recording to an SD and wireless connection to WiFi. PLUS – a ‘follow-me’ function that work amazingly and is quite eerie having it track you around the garden. A great deterrent.
However, it does have a few annoying flaws:
– As with most of the cheap network devices, the software is disappointing. Counter-intuitive and a little buggy.
– The motion detection is way too sensitive. Even in it’s lowest settings it’s picking up moths/midges, plants gently swaying, etc. You definitely don’t want to activate notifications on your phone!
– The follow-me function is great and it does return back to a setting of your choice. However, it does get confused and not always return back. As a result, you end up with endless notifications as it’s pointing at something moving or at the wall behind it (which it doesn’t like).
That all said, I would strongly recommend it. It does seem to have settled down recently (maybe a software update) and I may turn the ‘follow-me’ function back on.
Arrived on time, setup booklet a little vague with some setup information missing ( in translation I imagine! ). The screws that come with it are too short, as has been mentioned on other reviews, and is also a little fidly to fix to a wall, marking the holes then fitting screws to the lower holes. The software used is easy to follow and setting up the camera is not too difficult, am not a techie. I have two of these cameras and are working well from initial fitting, a few neighbours also have them too. Overall am pleased with this camera after nearly two months use.
I’ve got 4, our road has 5 others
These are terrific cameras that hold footage and send alerts. I’ve got top of the range dark-fighters 4K POE and compared for value and what they do,I would say these are superb That’s my opinion on this version only I think they are changing the design? Not sure I keep an eye out for bargains in price for other people in our road because they are well regarded here Appols I forgot to say
1 With a memory card and set up you not only get motions detect pictures and recording but regular recordings as well
2 notifications on your phone with the app 2types , your phone and the app notifications
3. I’ve only found out. You can share with somebody else or more-really easy. With the app
4 This is a Wi-Fi camera and I was out off range so I used a very long Ethernet cable I made up to go around the house to a Wi-Fi extender in the house and plug in the bottom
My router is full
The pick up time is a slight bit longer to view on the phone but it suits me
I hope this helps and two other things. Don’t forget to connect the small Ethernet cable whilst setting up(including your Wi-Fi information Hope this helps
Set up not too bad considering it’s got lots of options.
Instructions are written in English but it’s a bit Chinese English
Wifi connection is only ever going to be as good as your system, I found it worked fine for weeks then struggling to connect, then okay again.
I ended up hard wiring a 10 meter patching cat 5 cable to it because Sod’s law says it will always make it fail when your away.
On the up side the camera will keep recording even if you can’t access the video, so you can review it when you get back on line.
A 128gb card record’s around 3 weeks of video.
Also you have to go through the options over and over again until you find out all quirks.
Easy to review alarm and other recordings.
Easy to set alarm area, by reducing the activity area. Also the sensitivity is set at 4 out of 100! So it’s super sensitive and needs careful setting or it will be sending continuous alarms.
App works fine, use the CamHipro. When using the app, you will need to refresh it by touching the video showing, or touch in the blank area and pull down. Yes it sounds weird but if you don’t it’s frozen from the last time you looked at it. Check the time in the top right corner to see if it’s refreshed.
Update 18th may 2022
After installation of hard wired Ethernet cable, no issues with disconnecting, also play back and live stream is quicker and smoother.
So although it’s sold as wireless (WiFi) (wireless does not mean no power supply), if you can hard wire to your router it will be much quicker and more stable.
Also with the sensitivity of the alarm trigger, you probably need to reduce the setting to about 4 (out of 1-100) and also reduce the area of detection to just where you want, it works well.
I live in a converted Bank (was Natwest) with mirror glass windows to the highstreet. As such, we see everything that goes on out there, except at night.
As a move to brighten the view of the Island when Royalty visits, troughs of flowers have been installed.
Apart from an egg thrown at Father Christmas a few years ago, crime is rare. However, we have lots of visitors because we are Covid free and they bring crime and bad behaviour with them.
As a deterrent, I fitted this camera so it is conspicuous. No one has noticed it…
The detection is remarkably efficient. It does record all humans and excludes passing vehicles, dogs and the occasional tumbleweed sized piece of litter. I was impressed.
The sound quality during a two way conversation is clear enough to be practical, even though the camera is 10 metres from the door. The sound feature is of no interest to me other than scaring the bejeebers out of children messing about with the flowers. They hear this very loud, God-like voice and that cures them of all mischief.
As you will notice from my screen shot, I have angled the camera in an unusual way. I wanted the whole overhanging frontage captured. A normal angle doesn’t work. This is not a fault with this camera.
Setting up was very simple. The only anxiety I had was, I don’t have a WiFi password, it is an open system. The field accepted gobbledegook so problem solved.
There were some issues with camera positioning and image delay. I contacted the manufacturer and after providing some info, a firmware fix over the air put matters right.
Their response was very prompt and thorough. They sent the firmware fix, it wasn’t directly available because it was about to be released, all I had to do was agree to accept it.
All issues solved within two days. Great service.
The camera was well presented and it had a manual. The instructions might be sufficient but I thought more detail and clarity would be helpful.
The app gives me the impression it has been added to and adapted rather than designed. It takes some getting use to and is far from instinctive. None- the- less, it does work well.
For the typical user, looking to secure their front door, this will be ideal.
In my case, because of the huge number of detections, the battery will last only 10 days before recharging. I have to provide external power to solve this. Not a fault, just a consideration.
The app will drain your phone battery. With normal use, my phone lasts 12 hours before a recharge. With the app running in the background, it needs power all day and night so it has power when I am out with it. This will happen with any app that runs continuously, so in a sense, this isn’t a fault.
I have set up the app on a second old phone and rely on the SD recording to deal with culprits if they cause damage. Also in my case, the constant beep warnings of detection is annoying. This is a quiet street but not as quiet as your front door. I accept the issue as being unavoidable.
Image clarity over the frontage means HD has to be used. Typical front door installations will only need SD.
Night vision is quite adequate and provides identifiable images.
I am pleased with this camera and service.
UPDATE: Seller was very helpful and offered to send out replacement. When this wasn’t possible due to Brexit legislation, they issued me with a refund.
Despite the poor instructions, it was relatively easy to set up and connect. It’s very sensitive, even with sensitivity turned down, so will record with every dog barking, pedestrian passing by, cats entering the garden and even insects flying past it. In itself not a bad thing, but we had to turn the notifications off because of it, making it very labour intensive to search through the recordings after an incident we wanted to view back on. The image and sound quality is amazing, as is the reach. Unfortunately it stopped working completely after five months (dead!) and sadly it’s not the power supply or socket it’s plugged into (tried replacing them all), and Amazon unable to send a replacement- so we have to return it and await a refund
This is my 3rd IEgeek outdoor camera the first 2 are fixed and have worked well for nearly 3 years.
This 360 camera is for the garden so I can see the whole area and the colour night vision is excellent.
I use the recommended HiP2 Client app on my desktop and CamHi app on both tablet and phone. The CamHi app enables you to monitor your cameras anywhere you have an WiFi internet connection.
All my cameras work off WiFi and are no further than 20 mtrs from the router. I have experimented with a direct (cat5) connection using power line adapters and they work OK if the WiFi signal is weak.
Overall I’m very happy with these cameras and would recommend.
Good value camera. Pictures are so clear and camera very easy to control. Nothing seems to interfere with the camera, heavy rain, hail or sleet it stays very stable. You can control it with your phone (android) or PC.
You have a choice when to record, for how long and where to record it to. (memory card or online storage). You can set up to record at certain times and also to record if picks up on suspicious activity. It can sound an alarm or just notify you. This camera is unbeatable for the price against functions. Highly recommended !!
Overall, the camera itself performs okay but ………..
It took an age to set up and get connected, not helped by the inadequate and confusing instructions. Why do manufacturers get their manuals written by people who know how the product works. Much better to get a novice to write them so a novice can use them! The PC software is next to useless, basically allows you to view but no PTZ control as far as I can find. The motion detection is way too sensitive, constantly triggering on rain drops and even worse with IR mode at night. Insects and even reflection from the IR lights cause triggering with the sensitivity set low. I had to stop getting notifications to my mobile because it would be going all day and night. The detection area has very limited scope, essentially left screen, right screen or whole screen. There is no facility for setting smaller individual areas.
The connection ‘tails’ are way too short and bulky. If you need to pass then through a wall then you had better have thin walls and prepare for a large hole. The mounting screws with mine were far too short, barely long enough to get through the mounting with no length left to screw into the wall plugs. I had to dash out and purchase longer screws.
I found the camera very difficult to set up, particularly trying to work out FTP settings, which I still haven’t been able to do. I’ve ended up installing an ethernet cable extension.
The camera is very good but the tracking is way too sensitive and I’ve been bombarded with notifications which turn out to be caused by shrubs blowing in the wind.
Not quite sure how I’ve managed it but at last I can view events on my PC as well as on my smartphone.
There are loads of good features so pleased with the purchase. Currently experimenting with narrowing the trigger area for tracking and notifications, which I found among Amazon questions and answers.
ieGeek very quickly got back to me to try to help me set up the camera. We got it working but I think my level of expertise is not good enough to get it working exactly as it should.
At the end of the day I wanted a camera that would give me some peace of mind and the camera has provided that at a reasonable price.
The set up was relatively easy, using the broadband router. The camera itself is great, good motion detection and picture quality. It needs to be plugged into a power supply so we had a friend drill into the garage and fit a new plug socket for us. Day 1 we were so happy, the app worked fantastically. Day 2 not so good, a constant issue with connection. I’m purchase a WiFi booster to see of the issue is the camera proximity to the hub, rather than a poor app. So for now a poor rating. I’ll update my review, if its an issue our end. Day 3, since connecting to a wifi extender everything seems fantastic. I have updated the review as promised. We have no issues connecting with this device remotely either, so I’d suggest the other reviews with connection issues is due to the proximity of the reuter to the camera. You can purchase a wifi extender on amazon for 30. Not far off 5*. I’d just say the lack of forewarning about wifi reach and the need to have the camera plugged in and the work required to faciltate that let it down so slightly.
When this camera arrived, it was a few days before I set it up. However I now have it outside in my back garden when it gives me fantastic coverage of my garden and my back door. The picture is clear and when it gets dark it change from colour into black and white. I highly recommend that if you are looking for A cheap camera, then this one would be ideal for you
This is a superb bit of kit. Put it into auto tracking and it will follow movement spot on but just imagine it follows a hedgehog tjen stays looking at the area below the camera them an axe wielding murderer comes onto your property from the camera blind side so you get my point. We leave the cam in manual so it hets the full view of the garden.
The review function is great if you know precisely what time you want to review but it would be super cool if there were a fast forward function for quicker reviewing now that would be great.
But overall this is a great quality camera and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to you.
Brought this as a replacement after our previous one packed in.
This one is much better than that, obviously having the benefit of a few more years development helps.
I saved a bit of time fixing it to the side of the garage as there was already a hole from the previous. So yes you will more than likely need to do some drilling to fit it. Not overly difficult to mount overall.
Firstly, if you use a sd card (128gb max) format it first then fit into camera. Download the required app, turn the camera on and it’s fairly easy to initially set up.
The camera rotates pretty quickly using the app.
Picture quality is reasonable for the price. Night vision again, is ok pretty good up to 20ft I’d say. You can have 3 night settings I prefer ordinary so the lights don’t show on the camera.
Motion detection hmmm I have found it overly sensitive despite having it set to 1 and shrinking the detection box. Even at 1 rain seems to set it off. So be prepared for lots of notifications.
You can set preset positions for the camera. If you decide to have motion tracking it should return to a preset after it has moved. I’ve played around with this, felt it worked ok but have left that setting off. Some people have complained that it doesn’t always go back to the preset position.
In the app find Sd card plan recoding select the enable recording then go to advanced settings, click quick editing select all the days and them empty day. If you don’t it will literally record all day long. I just wanted motion warnings to be recorded. The Sd card will fill up then start overwriting itself.
I also have it on my windows pc before I realised there was actually a proper app to use I used a program called Blue stacks an android emulator. The correct one to use is called HiP2P and is simple to set up.
Overall pretty happy with the camera especially taking in the price it’s a cheap alternative for a bit of peace of mind. Would certainly recommend it.
Just to add that I had to make some of my ‘footage’ available to the police recently. They called today and wanted to know what camera I had! They said the quality of the images and clarity of the sound was exceptional and were amazed when I told them I’d got it from amazon for about 60. They said that they’re not allowed to recommend cameras etc to people but aske me to send them the URL anyway!
I bought this camera after problems with neighbours and to provide general security to my home. It is absolutely brilliant! So easy to set up it took me by complete surprise! I’m 70 and not the most computer savvy person in the world ((!) so I sat down expecting a long and frustrating afternoon but within about 5 minutes I was up and running! Two other excellent features are i) the ability to ‘hid’ the attached cables up inside the mounting so no need for a junction box (I’m using Wi Fi so no cabling to router) and ii) the fact that you can move the camera left, right, up and down and zoom in or out. To comply with police guidelines I usually have it focussed on my drive and the pavement outside my house but if I want to check further afield its easy to ‘tweak’ it up or down a bit! I was away in Cornwall a couple to weeks ago and was really impressed that I could still do this 150+ miles away. I don’t use the motion sensor facility also I can’t comment on that but all in all a brilliant camera and incredible value for money!
The camera is good, the automatic tracking is flawed as it is impossible to get the camera to return to a home position after it has detected motion, meaning if a person walks past your car, the camera will spend the rest of the day looking down the road unless someone walks back. I’ve disabld the cameras tracking and use third party software (blue iris) to handle the tracking and camera positions. The camera quality is good, and I’ve had no signal issues. The app and web interface are basic, but ok. I’ve ordered another (fixed position) camera from the same brand, so it can’t be that bad
So, if you only want to view this camera through your WIFI network (phone or computer) definitely 5 stars, but if you need to view it remotely through the telephone network when you are away from home, then it doesn’t rate any stars at all. Shame because the camera is great but let down by the mobile software and I cannot find any other software that can connect to the camera remotely.
A previous camera of mine failed for reasons unknown, so I decided to pick up a new one & decided to try a 360 degree one – I wasn’t really expecting much for the price, but I thought worst case scenario I’d leave it in 1 position and use it like a normal camera.
Much to my surprise, the camera is very easy to move around and with its tracking features turned on will automatically rotate the camera etc to follow a target, not to mention the ease of setup when all you need to do is bolt it to the wall & thanks to the 360 you can set the position via app which is much more convienient than normal cameras that need quadruple checking before you take the ladder down & even then isn’t absolutely perfect.
Personally mines wired into the network and recorded 24/7 on my NAS and so far it hasn’t skipped a beat.
So far so good. Proving to be a good purchase.
Only issue I have is , like most security cameras I’ve had, the Sensitivity on motion is far to sensitive. Doesn’t matter if I turn the setting right down, it still over sensitive. But I can live with it.
Because the rest of the security camera is great…
Update. 1.10.21.
I’ve had this camera a couple of months now.
And I can say without doubt, it is a great security camera.
I’m very impressed with just how quickly it alerts your mobile phone that someone’s at the door.
Compared to other cameras I’ve had, this one is very good.
It hardly ever drops the WiFi signal.
Sometimes it has, but it never takes long to reconnect…
Altho it does alert me on my mobile phone, it doesn’t send me a million pictures.
That might be because I haven’t got round to putting an SD card into slot. I’m not sure though.
So it alerts me quickly. So I can check straight away, but it doesn’t send me a multiple pictures. Which I’m fine with.
Sensitivity is like most other security cameras. Very sensitive.
Mine is right down to no 3… and I have a certain area zoned…
It does react to wind, fly. Birds. The odd cat. And it will alert you . But minus the 80 pictures….
I can put up with all that, because it’s so quick at alerting me to some dodgy human at my elderly mums door.
Overall, so far. The best security camera I’ve had in that 55 price range.
And yes there’s probably other good cameras out there.
But they’d have to be very good to out do this igeek camera…
I bought this camera to replace a more basic I-geek camera (which hadn’t caused any problems but was fixed to one position). It was very easy to set up, I added it to the app before it went onto the wall incase of any issues attaching to the wifi, and it came up straight away. It was larger than I expected, but when it was up on the wall it isn’t obtrusive.
The camera is easy to navigate in the app and can pan around to see up and down the street. I’ve played around with it for a few days, setting the motion detection, trying the intelligent tracking and comparing the night vision with and without colour. My old cameras picture could only get within a couple of feet on the front door (it is mounted above and to the right of the door) but this one can see the door itself. The picture during daylight is excellent, and at night can be seen in black and white or colour, which is a bonus! I have had the intelligent tracking set on, which enables the camera to automatically follow anyone it picks up, which is great on a passageway or drive.
The picture is clear both during the day and at night, and I would definitely recommend this camera for the price. It is definitely worth the spending a little more than the entry level price for something as packed with features as this!
I have tried the two recording options of pre plan and alarm event. After trying the later, I have gone back to having it record all the time. Alarm event recordings were being triggered by birds flying across the field of view during the day and insects at night attracted to the IR lamps. I made changes to the sensitivity and also the areas of detection that reduced the number of false alarms events but not down to what I considered a reasonable level. So I never set up the external audible alarm function to avoid disturbing my neighbours. Note (1):- HiP2P gives more options for selecting detection zones within the field of view can than the App. Note(2) The auto tracking function is called “smart moto” in the PC softwear and “intelligent view” in the App software. Note(3) if you want to set up a default position for the PTZ to return to from auto tracking, it can only be set on the App and then it will not remember the zoom position.
Overall the camera is now working ok with good video recording quality and auto tracking with certain selected zones and sensitivity settings within the field of view. I have not activated the audible alarm function as it still generates too many false ones. It also still has regular unexplained software issues such as the clock time changing and it forgetting its default position. I have an open mind as to its longevity.
I like IeGeeks cameras as I was using since 2 years for my house security. I purchased this one now for my mum&dad’s house.
As always it arrived securely packaged in a sturdy box with bubble wrap tubing around the camera.
It comes with power adapter however I used another method of wiring to be able to connect it outside of the house. The simplest connectivity to a home network is via wifi. And I would admit that it has really good antennas to get the signals as I put far end of house and it easily connected to wifi.
Installation is really simple. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I tested the camera inside our house and also outside of the house at night. Picture quality is really good for both indoor or outdoor use.
IeGeek uses CamHiPro or CamHi apps for this version of camera, it is a free both for Google play and Apple store. I use Iphone and I downloaded CamHi as my other cameras are using the same application.
The camera app has useful features to use and it is really easy to use. If you additionally purchase SD card which I have done, you can set to record clips to local SD card or to the cloud if you would like to purchase subscription.
The electric motor which is in camera is really quiet and it allows the camera to turn and pan up and down. One of the most important features is tracking when motion is detected which is really a great feature.
At night, if you set the camera for auto picture it uses in-built light to colour picture.
I highly recommend this brand and its cameras as they really sturdy and reasonably priced.
The camera arrived within a couple of days. Only gripe there, delivery person left it on the doorstep. The product was well packed and appears very solid. Regard myself as very tech savvy, but the instructions were not particulary clear. Recommend installing via hardwire then move to wi-fi. As with all these cameras the leads are always too short. Having said that the power supply cable was plenty long enough. Clarity is also good. Only had it for a short while but on the face of it would recommend especially on the price. Mounted mine on a weatherproof box so that I had plenty of space to contain the cables.
REVIEW UPDATE – In addition to my original review below, that I gave three stars, IeGeek contacted me to resolve my issues. I am now a happier customer and have changed my review to four stars based on the customer service. The camera was difficult to set up, other than that it is working fine.
ORIGINAL REVIEW – Camera works ok but interface is poor. I had a previous IeGeek camera with amazingly easy set up, so I payed extra and bought another IeGeek camera. Shouldn’t have bothered. Set up was a mare with poor confusing unclear instructions. I’m sure this is the same camera and software as the cheaper ones. It also needed a different app than my other IeGeek camera to view on my phone. But it works ok now it is set up. No more IeGeek stuff for me, I will stay with the cheaper stuff.
HOWEVER trying to follow the directions from the enclosed manual was very confusing as the manual glossed over basic functionality e.g, no direction as to reducing Audio / Motion Sensitivity , no guidance as to how to insert SD card, no guidance as to how to Search Video Recordings (I’m still not sure whether I should activate ‘Planned’ Recordings to SD card??) – indeed all the screen shots used in the manual were of the more upgraded CamHipro App – so not much use in setting up the basic CamHi App!
Also not sure how I install the upgraded the CamHipro App now that I currently have the camera operating using the basic CamHi App!!!
Audio and Motion Alarms far too ‘sensitive’… I get loads of alarm notifications just from bird song, wind/rain or slight movement of shrub foliage!.. Additionally there is no guidance as to how to delete all these ‘false’ alarm notifications +40 a day!!! (I have been doing this by ‘formatting the SD card each day as I can’t find any other way of doing this???)
On the plus side the daylight picture quality is very good and the fact you can change the angle of view from your smartphone app is excellent. The motion recording at night is OK but not great (don’t even consider using colour night vision as picture is so pixelated as to render it useless)
Overall this is a good quality security camera at this price point (59.00) but it has limitations, the Audio and Motion Sensitivity means you get loads of unwanted alarm notifications and the manual as supplied is not helpful in explaining the basic CamHi App functionality.
Update:
Having contacted iGeek Customer Service I have since changed to using the CamHipro App. This is certainly an improvement over the basic CamHi App and was relatively easy to switch – just needing to input the camera’s UID code into the new APP. The advantage being you can dial down the Video Motion Sensitivity.
HOWEVER even taking it down to around 5% I still get lots of false alarm notifications from rustling leaves / branches from nearby shrubs and rain showers. At night it’s moths that trigger the Alarm notification! After further contact with Cheryl at iGeek Customer Service I have now been informed that I need a camera with ‘Smart Humanoid Detection’ to significantly reduce false alarm notification – which this camera does not have….
On the plus side Igeek have agreed to refund my purchase price of this camera in compensation for all the frustration I have experienced with this camera!
Refund has now been processed so have now uprated item to 4 Stars at Igeeks request…. but future buyers still need to be aware of this items issues.
I have used ieGeek cameras since first choosing to add some security to our house. I am not the greatest technically so I was pleased that setting up the camera was so easy to do. I chose to buy this camera due to the extra features now available such as auto-tracking and smart motion. The pan and tilt will also add a great deal to the appeal of this camera as I won’t be frustrated by the limited coverage that was once a problem with static cameras. I have found the interface on my iPhone to be very good and often check in on my house and sometimes my pet from elsewhere, even abroad on occasions. This is very useful and reassuring. I have found customer service to be very fast and efficient when I was getting to grips with installing a second unit and wondering which memory cards are best to install. Overall an excellent product and a very responsive company to deal with.
This is the second camera I have purchased from ieGeek, I was using their older model which wasn’t suitable for 2-way audio conversation. This camera has 2-way communication & you can connect it via wifi. it gives great vision during day or night & is quite easy to install as well. It also has advanced features such as tilt which can be controlled via the app camhi or cam hi pro. It also looks nice after installation so I would highly recommend using their service. The ieGeek as customer service is great & they respond pretty quickly over an email.
In addition to the phone app, free PC software is available to download which can monitor, view and control several cameras allowing the E20 PTZ camera to become an integral part of a full security system.
The camera can be connected via an Ethernet cable or wirelessly and if the latter, the unused connections can be hidden in the base out of sight. WiFi connection has proved very stable and, probably helped by the twin antennae, the camera is capable of maintaining good signal strength over an extended distance from the router.
The camera itself seems solidly made and although not particularly small it can be discreetly installed if required or left in clear sight to serve as a deterrent if preferred.
I feel confident that this camera will give good service and in my opinion, the E20 PTZ Security Camera represents great value for money.
This product offers a pan and tilt which is useful. It’s quite big which works well as a visual deterrant but makes it less suitable for putting next to your front foor at eye level.
I would have preferred a longer power cable. I will look in to buying an extension. Also note you’ll require a microSD card but the camera comes with an offer to get one. Card is installed in a side flap – much easier than my other cameras which require being taken apart to install the card.
I used the wireless option to connect. All the unused connectors can be easily hidden in the camera arm – leaving jus the power cable coming out the back of the camera.
Overall really good value with quality images, would recommend ieGeek cameras to anyone.
But this is in my situation and I appreciate most people will likely prefer the deterrent of a security camera being obvious so my rating reflects that.
Very easy to physically mount and set up with the HiP2P software if you are familiar with it (use the latest version!) although the terminologies take getting used to and some settings are unintuitive and hidden, most importantly the “quality” setting which is on “minimum” by default — it makes a huge difference. The wi-fi range is excellent, this camera works perfectly in a location I previously struggled with using one of the older ones. The image quality looks better to me although it is seemingly the same resolution.
Where this camera really scores for me is the pan/tilt/zoom. Forget the zoom, it’s digital, not optical, so would lose definition if used (it doesn’t seem to work anyway on the HiP2P software) but the pan and tilt are excellent. It’s billed as 360 but in practice, unless it can see round corners, it’s 180 if it’s mounted on a flat wall, still perfectly adequate. I haven’t tried the auto-tracking yet but intend to thoroughly check this out in time as automatically covering a wide area with a single camera will be very useful to me.
The night vision is very good too, again seemingly much better than the older models. I won’t be using the colour option for the same reasons as wanting my cameras to be unnoticeable.
We get some ferocious weather here (in France) so I’ll have to wait and see how this lightweight plastic camera fares. Hopefully it will be just fine, the older but metal models have stood up well.
This is a relatively inexpensive camera so I’ve taken that into consideration. It is remarkable value for money and I can’t fault its functionality.
The main thing is, it works very well and I’m very pleased with it, so much so I will buy a couple more for areas a fixed camera couldn’t cover adequately. I have areas that have power from 3 different houses and it’s impractical to run network cable and impossible to use CPL, so the wi-fi range is a significant plus.
Optional information one thing I have disliked about ieGeek cameras is their inability to record in e.g. AVI format that can be shared and viewed with normal software, instead using a proprietary 264 format that nothing except the HiP2P application reads. You CAN convert from this rubbish to a useable format using the mobile app but even their customer service (very good by the way) couldn’t find a way round this on a Windows PC. Well, there is a way! You can’t from the files stored on an SD card but you can save video as AVI if you save direct to a hard drive in a PC (the SD card still works). The problem is of course, the computer has to be on to do this and gobbles up disk space but if it matters (and it does to me) it is possible. I wish I’d known this before because with (now) 9 cameras each with a 128Gb SD card at 22 or so each, that’s 200 I could have saved, enough to buy 10Tb of dedicated external drives. Also, saved to my computer the recordings are safe and readily available rather than going through the slow and clunky HiP2P application.
Pro’s
– Was easy to add the dome camera onto my existing network of ieGeek camera’s and easy to add the dome camera onto the app (CamHi).
– Picture quality (day and night) is much better compared to the old ieGeek camera
– Auto tracking and night colour mode can be enabled / disabled
– Value for money
Con’s
– If colour night mode is selected then four bright LED lights are permanently switched on the camera, these are very visible. Not sure how long they will last….
– Would be nice if you can set a ‘default’ position for the camera so that it reverts back to this default position after it has finished auto-tracking
Overall, for a marginal increase in price (from the original ieGeek bullet camera) I would definitely recommend this camera
The night colour and mono vision are clear, and the picture quality appears to be improved. Setting up is fairly easy to do and the existing wiring and power supply all fit the new camera, so no need to tread cable trough again. The tracking system appears to use a stepping motion which is a good touch for tracking movement.
One thing to be aware off, if you install this device never anything that moves like a hanging basket, this will be detected when the intelligent tracking tracks another item, even if its outside of your selected area, the camera goes back to its default set position once tracking is done.
What this device does lack is the Humanoid alarm, which helped reduce accidental alarm triggers, and only one picture can be send on alarm recording as opposed to three.
I have several ‘static’ ieGeek cameras but for the back garden needed a 360 one. I got this camera a few days ago, but it took me a couple of days to find and prepare a right place for it. To get the few I wanted I needed to put it on a small mist – thankfully with an antenna mist a little DIY I got a perfect few I needed.
The camera is really well made, feels robust yet not too heavy. Installation is strait forward – I normally plug in camera with a cable to my router when setting it up, then use wireless. You can add a mini SD card and it will record and provide you with historical videos going back a while (subject to size of your SD card). You can subscribe to cloud base storage, but I don’t have such need. I have use CamHipro software for my cameras, and it does what I need. Just don’t forget to use a strong network password (if you are using WiFi) and change the admin password of your camera.
The picture quality is superb, camera is very responsive (when controlled remotely). If you want a 360 degree quality camera with a price that won’t break a back look no further. The only recommendation I can give to the manufacturer is to make it also in black.
It took me five minutes to integrate the camera into my network.
The only procedure prior to powering the camera on is to remove the cover of the compartment and press the small rectangle button (next to the SD slot) to reset the camera. This should clear any configurations, if any, and allow a straight forward install.
I would advise using a LAN cable rather than configuring it through wireless, as long as your system has a DHCP (in your Router) service enabled, it should be a walk in the park.
Using Linux, there are third party apps (like Xeoma) that will allow you to configure the camera with a static IP Address, connect to a FTP server, Email notifications and more.
I specifically scoped out this camera and was delighted at how easily it was to install within Linux.
And that is a big deal for Linux users.
Thinking out of the box.
The camera is fantastic, you can use the app to move the lens around and have complete sight of the whole street. I moved the camera I had before to the back of the house and placed this one at the front of the house.
The image quality is great and definitely good enough for the purpose it serves, and also considering the price range which is really good for this type of camera.
Installation was very easy, a few screws and then I ran the cable down the side of the window, drill a hole into the room, fed the wire through and then filled it in with filler, easy peasy. The app setup was very simple too, quick tip here, most wireless networks run on 5GHZ and this camera only works on 2.4GHZ, if you cant connect it to your WiFi this is most likely the cause of the problem. Simply login to your routers admin page and enable dual band, this will create both a 5GHZ network that your devices connect to as well as a 2nd 2.4GHZ channel for the camera, then simply login to the 2.4GHZ connection on your phone and pair the camera with the app, once you do this you can log back in to the 5GHZ wifi on your phone and carry on as normal, the camera will continue broadcasting on the 2.4GHZ network with no interference.
Great camera for the price and for the features it has.
The item arrived well packaged as you would expect from ieGeek which contained the main camera, a usb lead, backplate wall mount, plugs and screw, easy turn fixing screws for the camera to be connected to the wall plate and the manual.
Setup is via the app and already having the app, it was a case of scanning the product QR code so that it could be connected to the network. Once it recognises the QR code it’s really fast to setup but the sequence of turning on and reset button took a few attempts to get going.
Its WiFi connection is only 2.4Ghz which although not the highest connection speed provides better range of connectivity. This was much better when connecting outside since there is a great deal of dense and obstructive material to get through and it had no impact of the reaction speed and connectivity performance, more than happy with this.
The app includes animated inline help which is extremely useful.
For the purposes of testing, I fixed the unit high on my external blockwork (as per picture). This was an extremely useful position and will go back in exactly the same when the house is finished.
This product requires a USB power connection to charge the battery initially. I left this plugged in overnight and it was completely charge by the morning (the instructions suggest 10 hours to fully charge). If not using a solar panel, it needs to be installed high enough to be out of vandalism reach but easy enough to access in order to periodically plug in USB lead for charging. Since this is more of a semi-permanent fixing, it’s probably best to install near a window in order to get a suitable lead out to it without needing to climb ladders each time. If not, the unit is easily removed using the four easy-turn fixings to take the entire unit down for charging. The backplate itself was very quick and easy to secure to the wall. I use a solar panel for my smaller camera which is great using the robust and ‘free’ solar panel from ieGeek (superb, compact and free).
General SD mode is very good but HD mode is better (as you would expect) although has more battery drain. I haven’t been using the camera long enough to determine this exactly.
The night vision is superb as is the triggering which can be set up for defined intervals as required.
The remote movement functionality is very reactivate and precise and the movement is extremely quiet.
The speaker and microphone are also very useful and can be heard at a decent range from the house if need be.
I haven’t used the product long enough to comment on battery life but if it’s supposed to be an improvement on the smaller model, then I am very confident that I won’t be charging up too often.
I have recorded video for playback on both SD and Cloud service which works extremely well. The only comment I have on the cloud service is that you have to dig to find more information on costing and would be better to include such information in an FAQ.
I’m otherwise extremely happy with this product and will be purchasing another for the front of my house.
***UPDATE March 2021***
I take it all back! As thought, it turns out I had a faulty camera… ieGeek reached out to me and sent me a brand new one – WOW what a difference! Crystal clear picture and strong WiFi (no drop-outs like the previous one) and the colours are true-to-life – much more along the lines of what I was expecting (basically the same performance as my IG62 but at a higher resolution/better definition)
Experimenting with the motion detection at present – think some of the issue was caused by the poor image quality of the initial camera as does seem a little more responsive…
Thank you ieGeek support for your support and service… 10/10!

Initial review posted:… Disappointing performance and very poor WiFi
Well, I have to say I just do not rate this camera… Initial setup is easy enough and the app is fine but I feel let down by the camera itself…
Like others, I seem to be experiencing WiFi issues – constant drop-outs and slow speed even with the camera placed the other side of the wall to my WiFi access point! It was so bad that in the end, I hard-wired it using CAT5 but still find I am experiencing random dropouts (although far less than when it was on WiFi) – the main reason for buying this model was the enhanced aerial! (also have a cheaper IG62 camera which connects by WiFi and is 10x the distance away and through 2 walls – get a rock-solid connection to that one!)
Image is also a little disappointing – one side of my picture seems to be very pixalated and lacking detail (the right side in the photo) – contacted support who, although polite, were of little use – after first asking if it had water in it [how could it, it is factory sealed – unlike the cheaper units, you don’t have to take it to bits to install an SD card] they then advised that it is ‘acceptable’ but I should try repositioning my camera to point it to somewhere a bit lighter – erm, ok, all very well but the very slight flaw with that is then it wont cover the area I want it to cover! I know it’s not a 5MP camera but again, image quality from the cheaper model is far superior… [Did also raise the WiFi issue with support who basically said it could be my network – erm, did you not read the bit where I explained that another of your cameras 10x the distance away has no issues at all – and, quite frankly, when placed the other side of a wall to an access point, there should really be no issues]…
I also have an issue with the colour rendering – it’s almost like the IR cut isn’t right – the colours just don’t ‘pop’ – purples and greens are a funny shade (they still are purple and green but nothing like the actual colour – again, the cheaper IG62 seems much better in this respect)…
Motion detection is pointless – even rain sets it off – yes, I know it’s not the easiest of things to do in the processing power you have – but I’m not talking about rain in general – if the rain drops are big enough and are within a couple of feet of the camera, I just get constant alerts to say ‘Motion Detected’ – ended up switching that off!
Night vision does seem good though (allowing for the previous comment re image quality but at night the image wont be as sharp anyway) – the ring of IR LEDS is not particularly noticeable and does give illumination…
I find myself in 2 minds – do I return it or keep it? I will probably end up keeping it but will relocate it to cover another (smaller) area and buy a 5MP camera to replace this one (although alas, not an ieGeek one)
I bought this camera a year ago largely because of the reasonable price and good user reviews but only got round to putting it up in November 2019.
Positives
1. Build quality seems good. Compact and solid
2. Picture quality is good especially on the HD setting
3. Power supply has a long lead (3m) so no extension cable required
Negatives
1. Despite the IP67 rating, my camera let in water to the extent that it stopped working. Water behind the lens and in the SD card slot (see photos). Maybe I put it up in a too exposed position. So my advice is try and install it somewhere that is a bit sheltered e.g. under eaves.
2. The reset switch and power cable connector need to be housed in a dry place e.g. a waterproof connection box. (A waterproof connector is supplied for the Ethernet cable)
3. PC Software Hip2P is quite slow and clunky and not very intuitive to set up. Later versions of the software are a bit better. They can be found on the Iegeek or IPcam websites. The mobile phone software is a bit easier but is more limited.
4. There is no option for secure encryption (like most cheaper webcams). This will make the camera easier to hack.
5. There is a customer service email address, but I got no response when my camera failed.
Conclusion
Installing and connecting up an IP camera can be quite a time consuming business, so my advice is don’t waste your time – avoid this camera and spend a bit more on something more reliable. I’ve had my Foscam camera out in all weathers for several years without problem…
Follow Up – 4 February 2021
=====================
I got round to taking down my failed iegeek security camera today. Opened the SD slot and orange coloured water dribbled out. It looked like my Sandisk Extreme Pro 128Gb SD card was trashed – stained with the orange gunge – but it dried out and cleaned up and is working fine in my new camera (an Ezviz).
Recordings on the card showed that the camera worked OK for a total of 10 days until it got too wet. So the moral of the story is don’t assume that an IP camera is OK just because it works fine out the box. Put it up outside in the rain. Then at least you can get your money back if it fails straight away as a result of water damage. Interestingly I could not find an IP67 rating anywhere on the packaging or camera despite this waterproof rating being advertised.
Update 12 March 2021
=================
Customer support reached out to me following this review. Looks like the email address I wrote to was the wrong one which explains why they didn’t reply to my previous emails. They advise that they have resolved the security problems that were around a couple of years back and this model is no longer at risk of hacking. It is still a good idea however to change the default user name/password from admin/admin to something unique.
Failure caused by water penetration does not appear to be a common problem with this camera judging by the reviews on Amazon, so maybe I was just unlucky. As a gesture of goodwill, Iegeek have offered to refund me or replace the camera despite it being out of warranty. So given all that, I have changed my review rating to positive.

Top tip: the box i used is this one IP66 Black Weatherproof Outdoor / External Junction Box Complete With Connector https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DHHMJOI/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_OszoFbH0E96EM
Pass the cables in one if the bottom holes, you will need to open the hole out with s Stanley knife to get the massive network connection in so you won’t be able to fit a gland. Just leave it open, water will drain. I have used the boxes like this for years without a problem.

I set the camera up in my living room first to test the functions. At first I couldn’t get the software on my phone to connect to the camera using a wifi connection. So I used the supplied ethernet cable to plug directly into my router and it connected fine. After I set up all the configurations such as wifi settings, date and time etc. I then unplugged the ethernet and it then started using the wifi automatically.
I then moved the camera outside and after it started up it connected to my phone OK. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that I can access the camera even when I am not at home – I thought I’d have to be on wifi to do this, but it works on 4G wherever you are. The 2 way audio might come in handy too.
I used a 128GB micro SD card to give plenty of recording space, and I also set snapshots to go to an FTP server. I highly recommend this camera – unlike the grainy footage you see on TV programmes, this camera would be genuinely useful in identifying people.

So I used the supplied ethernet cable to plug directly into my router and it connected fine.
