The graphics and overall set-up of the game is amazing, can’t stop playing it. If you happen to be into Greek mythology, the stories are spot on!

If you like games like zelda breath of the wild you will like this too, some puzzles can be very frustrating but this game is where you have the freedom of going anywhere on the map

I’m an avid loved of Breath of the Wild and this game was recommended dozens of times. I finally pulled the trigger and brought it and couldn’t be happier! Hours upon hours of game play and I’ve still barely scratched the surface of what this game has to offer.

If you’re hesitant on if you should buy – I absolutely you should. You’ll have so much fun.

Similar to Zelda BOW, but worth it to buy it. Many hours of playing, quite entertaining.

I really like this game, I am not a hard-core gamer, I’m a 46yr old wanting to fill a few weeks while I recover after knee surgery.
Having completing ( well to the point of finally got fed up looking for the last few shrines) zelda botw I wanted something similar. This came up as recommended but was initially put off by the amount of negative reviews.

It is not quite as good as zelda… its different but the same style of game. Once you get past the long tedious introduction, that is trying to be funny but not quite succeeding, and figure out the key differences in controls and how stuff works its great. I’m writing this after about 30 hours of play. The game is completely enthralling and positivley frustrating. The initial few hours are not hard to complete, essentially while you learn the controls and gain the required basic weapons and gear. After that it gets harder, just the right amount if difficulty (on normal level) to make it challenging without losing interest or wanting to give up. I initially downloaded the free demo from the nintendo store, which was great. Even better,It was on offer for 17 so it was worth a try.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m not a huge gamer. I’ve always loved the 3D Zelda games and have a hard time getting into other RPG games. I looked for a game like BOTW and this got a lot of love from that crowd. I LOVE it. If comparing it to BOTW, it would be like a little bother in my view. Not quite at the same level. but the concept and game play are, well…the same, to the point that 30 hours in I still keep pressing BOTW wild buttons for the same actions and messing up. This is so like BOTW that I’s assume they took the exact gameplay, threw a different story on, and out of a need to produce it faster had to leave behind some of the more complicated concepts like food recipes and intricate weapons and armor. It’s completely open world like BOTW where you can do anything in any order depending on player skill/patience and acquired gear/skills, but it’s all just your character, no talking to other people that I’ve come across (other than the Greek Gods you encounter). There are lots of side quests to get wrapped up in and the concept of the shrines and orbs is very very similar to building health and stamina.

I’m about 30 hours of game play in and it’s perfect for me on normal mosde…me being someone who doesn’t game much, gets slaughtered immediately over and over in any FPS game, and likes a bit of a puzzle challenge that isn’t too overly hard.

The one major con is Ubisoft itself. You are required to either sign up for and login with an Ubisoft account, or literally turn off WiFi on your Switch to play the game. If you don’t do one of those there is an unpassable screen that Ubisoft has locked your game from. And if you do login, Ubisoft has in game purchasing the is upfront in a lot of the game (I haven’t bothered looking at the store and won’t), and also by default is other peoples screenshots on your map that you’ll have to remove if you don’t want a crowded map and their spoilers. After having to return another Ubisoft game for authentication issues on a different platform that required an Ubisoft account, I will avoid Ubisoft completely in the future if at all possible. Oh, and of course the Ubisoft agreement you have to agree to for an account says they have all right to your personal information that they gather do do anything they want with. So you pay for a game on a console then find out to play it you MUST agree to pass all your data to them unrestricted. What a crap company.

If you’re willing to get past the horrible developing company practices, this is a really great BOTW like game.

This game takes a lot of inspiration from BotW, and that’s not a bad thing. Stunning environments and an easy to learn combat system. Vaults (shrines) to dip into from the overworld. Customise your character and upgrade the abilities and skills as you see fit. This game is difficult to put down and very fun. You don’t need to login to a Ubisoft account if you don’t want to, but doing so enables cloud save and cross platform play. I don’t understand the hostility towards this.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIncredibly fun game! If you liked Breath of the Wild AND Greek mythology… this is THE game for you. Open world, not too easy, customizable character/weapons/armor/abilities/boosts. Cut scenes are a bit long (still funny), so I tend to skip them but you don’t miss any important information that your Quest guide doesn’t fill you in on. Best of all, the tutorial is part of the opening play through so you get to test out the game mechanics as you start rather than *game freezes* “press A to jump” and so o

Really good game. I LOVE BOTW, and have seen there are many comparisons to this game. Though some of the story line is similar to BOTW, this game is incredible, with fantastic storyline, great tools and items you collect, and a real submersive feel to Greek mythology.

The mechanics are a little heavy, and not as fluid as I’d hope, but on the whole a great buy, and would definitely suggest.

Amazing game! I’m so glad I took a chance and bought this. I had heard of this game at the time of purchase but I hadn’t read any reviews or the summary of the game’s storyline. I read it was about Greek mythology with action and I was sold (I love history).

This game is a brilliant mix of action fighting (hack and slash), puzzles and humour between characters. Character appearance customisation is somewhat limited but with clothes/weapons/pets the options are vast! I think I’m nearly finished with the game but there is a DLC pack available too which I may get because this game is honestly amazing.

If you have played and enjoy Zelda Breath of the Wild, Skyrim and love a bit of humour please give this a go. You won’t be disappointed.

I’m really enjoying this game. I’m not a gamer, just a bored woman in lockdown. I completed Zelda BOTW and this is a really nice interlude until the next Zelda comes out.

The graphics are lovely and the open world is great to explore. The quests are fun too! Some of the big bosses are quite tough so I need to get my husband to do them, he’s much better than I am. The storyline is good but I often end up skipping things just to get back to the action.

I’d recommend this game for anyone who likes open world games!

1000000% would recommend love this game! I’m like 30 hours in and nowhere near endgame! (Although I am GOD DAMN AWFUL at puzzles so maybe the reason) love the graphics! And oh my the humour very much like Zelda botw but with a whole new coat of paint like horses? Yes? Well guess what? There’s loads!!! Oh and unicorns and reindeers too

Brought this game as there seemed to be a hype about it and it was on a sale so I thought why not. I wanted to try Zelda but could not part with 60 for BOTW until I was sure I might enjoy it, from what I’ve seen of Zelda it is like it. But thoroughly enjoy it, you ARE able to play this with out WiFi it just means that you won’t be able to do the online tasks, I’ve played for 40+ so far but there’s always monsters to kill, chest to finds and challenges to do and still got the main story to finish yet, just can’t find anywhere that does that DLC for it…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe game is quite good a good story you get lost in the forest And it seriously pushes you to think and thus solve the puzzles I understand why so many people complain that it is a cheap version of law out of the wild But anyway some They do not know how to appreciate good art, it is a good game, they push themselves and then until certain aspects change. You just have to grab the love of the game.

Gaming experience similar to Zelda’s Breath of the Wild and Assassin’s Creed franchise. The levels are challenging and fun, once you finish the story you can replay in a harder mode while keeping your earned abilities; the downside is that the game requires that an Ubisoft account be created, checks for online content (making it slow when turned on) and crashes a lot (maybe it’s not suited for Switch). I do recommend it, the graphics are beautiful and you feel rewarded when mastering the controls in harder levels.

This is a great game and for my money even more fun than Zelda botw. There’s a stupid review that tells the falsehood that you can’t play offline. The bloke is a liar you can. OK you need to sign up for ubisoft but so what, how difficult is that. Its not like they’re asking for a pint of blood for goodness sake. Some people are far too precious.

I would definitely recommend. Some people have mentioned that the graphics on the switch version is not bad in comparison to Xbox and ps5 which is probably down to hardware restrictions but I have not found any issues. This is a game for you if:
    – you loved zelda breath of the wild and want more of that
    – enjoy greek mythology
    – like greek style movies where the gods mess with/cheer on the hero
    – like big open worlds with lots of treasure
    – a great and hilarious story

Fenyx is not for you if:
    – you dont like greek mythology
    – want a linear story
    – hate ubisoft and their open world games
    – had enough of skill trees

Fenyx tells a great tale of a regular joes rise to hero and legend with some hilarious commentary from zeus and Prometheus and being greek theres alot of subtle adult jokes in there that only adults would get too.

Take my advice the whole game is animated and written as if fenyx is a girl so play as a guy trust me you wont regret it 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs someone who has played over 250 hours of both BOTW and The Witcher respectively, this game is a fantastic open world addition. I’ve been looking for a new open world game for AGES but I just couldn’t find anything I enjoyed – I had my eye on this game but wasn’t sure due to some of the reviews, which in my opinion are completely unfounded. I personally wouldn’t compare it to BOTW at all, yes there are similar game functions, it’s an open world RPG after all. I’m 30 hours in and I’ve hardly done any of the main story, there are plenty of interesting and challenging side missions to do – plenty of foes and mini bosses, rewards and extra content. The graphics are beautiful, with great characters (the voice acting is awesome, added humor lightens the whole feel of the game). It’s made me want to research Greek Mythology more in depth and I’m excited to see where this game takes me!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis has been described as a Breath of the Wild clone, and there’s certainly a resemblance, with a very large open world to explore, problem-filled “vaults” to traverse, and lots of enemies to fight. I’m only part way through, but I’ve enjoyed it a lot. The Switch graphics look good, the world is varied (although similar problems occur in the different vaults, as was the case in Zelda). You can vary the difficulty of the enemies, but the vaults remain the same, and some are challenging both physically and mentally, particularly the “god vaults”. Zeus and Prometheus give a slightly annoying running commentary. You can ignore that, but that was the only downside for me. I can’t imagine many people will regret buying this game.

  68. Diedre says:

     United Kingdom

As described no problems, delivery great.
Game wise for the switch Graphics can be pixellated at times due to the lower graphic power of the switch in comparison to trailers online for ps4 etc which is to be expected. Doesnt affect gameplay. Its really enjoyable to play and a really expansive map with lots of quests. More fun than anticipated.
Very fable meets zelda but with olympian greek gods.

I love this game. Is it like a cheap BotW? Maybe, but it is fun and carefree – lots of humour and it definitely has it’s own art and charm. The mechanics are smooth with a decent leveling system. The approach to Greek Mythology is amusing and the kind of thing you find yourself thinking you are clever for knowing. The transmogrification option is simple and a welcome asthetic. The puzzles are tricky but very achievable, the enemies too. I am taking my time and I think I will get at least 100 hours out of it. All in all it is extremely rewarding and fun, I have recommended it to everyone I know.
As for service, it’s Amazon so of course it was prompt and great – I am just a bit ticked off as someone who bought it at release that it dropped 20 within a month of release -.-

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe bad first: a lot of people have compared this to BOTW I agree that some of it does look and feel like a clone…it seems to have only cloned what was so annoying. The stamina bar when climbing and gliding. The open world feels empty with a lack of NPCs…I was hoping to break up the grind by interacting with town people and random encounters to get a laugh and some side quests. Sadly the world whilst it looks good is full of enemies and all work and no play makes Fenix a dull peep. I would have liked more of what worked being that this has taken many aspects of BOTW. The puzzles are a thing it doesn’t do well. The vaults in BOTW were scattered just like the puzzle vaults here but lack the challenge. I haven’t needed youtube cheat walkthroughs once in my 8 hours of play which makes me feel like this is over simple. The exploration aspect isn’t rewarding and there is no surprising things to find…all points of interest can be seen and marked from various high places. It makes the exploration just uninspired and not very rewarding and if you’re anything like me just walking around an open world to unwind and discover is one of the big things of open worlds..not with this one.

The good: this is a good looking game with lots of space to run around in which is also the games weak point as open worlds are now so often empty spaces. The upgrading system has more choices than i’m used to but it is good to be able to choose between upgrading godly powers or your skills. The narration between Zeus and Prometheus are fun. The fighting is good.

Overall an entertaining and good looking game but missed the mark a little for me.

I have certain rules and criterias when picking up a Switch game. Owning an Xbox Series X, I have the luxury of 4K gaming, but I am willing to trade that for portability for certain games. The game has to run smooth and look good on a reasonable level for portability. Immortals is such a game. Yes it looks and takes things from Breath Of The Wild, but BotW also took things from the Witcher 3, it happens in gaming and other media. Immortals is its own thing, on the surface it might not seem like it, but it is once you get into it. Ubisoft has also been updating Immortals and giving it patches making it better and better every time. It’s obviously not going to look like your 4K version on PC or Xbox SX, but portability in such a beautiful open world game with stable frame rate is literally a miracle. Easily Ubisofts best game of the year and possibly the best new IP on Switch this year. I was always going to wait for Immortals to drop in price with Cyberpunk out a week later, but now that 2077 is a disaster, I got to pick up this gem for only 30 two weeks after release! This is a game for all ages, and will last you many many hours like the open world Assassin’s Creeds games!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’ve been playing this for just over 12 hours now and I’ve barely scratched the surface. There’s something to keep you entertained around every corner and lots of puzzles, quests and combats to encounter. Some of the puzzle areas are pretty hard and at times frustrating but the sense of accomplishment when you have completed them is rewarding. It looks gorgeous on the switch. There’s the odd drop in frame rate on occasion but it’s never more than a slight distraction. The story is fun too with a quite funny script to boot. I might be in the minority but I’m actually enjoying this more than BOTW. Hands down my favourite game I’ve played this year.

Only an hour into the game currently but the graphics are great, great tongue in cheek story and narration. And the world is eye catching and detailed and the roaming and battles have been cool, so far so good.

I’d definitely recommend this title, apparently it borrows heavily from Zelda in its open world appearance etc but it differs enough to be a great title in itself.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI can only speak for myself, but this game is one of my favourite games I’ve ever played. I think it is a worthy of comparison with BOTW. Fenyx plays in a very very similar way – but with the art and culture of greek mythology; what’s not to love here? I’m about 10 hours in and I really really love this game. I personally only play it in hand held mode and this feels like the way the game was meant to be played. I love the art style and the culture and architecture which really immerse the gamer into the fantastical world. It is not gritty, it really is a beautiful world to roam and explore. I love the narrative and fresh comical (yet weighty) approach to story telling. This game for me does something a game hasn’t done for 20 years. Bring the massively overused Greek mythology back to gaming, and get it right. This game isn’t groundbreaking, but it has done something which I’ve been waiting 10 years for. For me it fits the bill perfectly. Good graphics which are suited to hand held mode, open world, greek mythology (done well and freshly), solid rewarding combat, character development… This game fills a massive gap for me, a gap that has been waiting to be filled since 2000. An RPG open world, greek mythology game in the style of Zelda BOTW. One of my favourite games of all time so far, only topped by Zelda BOTW, Witcher 3, Skyrim and the classics. Although not a genre defining game this game brings together superb elements from other titles to open world greek mythology. Its not a game of the decade, but for me it is one of my favourite games I’ve ever played.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersWhen I put the game on I was really unsure if I’d continue. The start sequence is long and nothing much happens, interspersed with lots of random dialogue and a multitude of slightly overwhelming features. I am now about 20 hours in and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface. The game looks lovely, the world is enormous, the content seems almost endless and it’s truly immersive. So, it takes a while to get going, but the rewards are worth the effort. The puzzles are challenging rather than frustrating, the combat challenging, not too easy or too difficult and the storylines are involved without detracting from all of the positives that you encounter along the way. A brilliant new title, highly recommended.
