I bought this set in March of 2023. The primary 1/2 inch hose ruptured after just slightly more than 6 months of use. I reached out to the seller about a warranty replacement and never heard anything back. So I would NOT recommend this product or the vendor.
Update: 11/16/2023
The seller has issued a refund and is sending a replacement 1/2 hose. They are standing behind their product, and I appreciate the extra effort they’re making to set things right. I changed the rating I gave them to 4 stars, pending the replacement hose’s arrival.
Ich habe das gekauft, um die Pflanzen im Urlaub, wenn ich nicht da bin, bewssern zu knnen. Hat super geklappt. Zeitschaltuhr dran und alles war versorgt. Gute Auswahl an Dsen. Leicht und schnell zum zusammenbauen.
For the first time this year I decided to use drip irrigation. I knew it would take some time to set up but I wanted to be more efficient and stop wasting water with a hose. I found this extremely easy to set up. Although I wish I had some different pieces (which is on me, I had NO idea how I wanted to set this up at first, I just bought a kit) But I still had plenty to work with and set it up for this season. After my first water bill came in when the garden was a full go – I decided there wouldn’t ever be a season that I didn’t use drip irrigation again. Literally saved enough money from one month’s bill to pay for this a couple times over. It was super simple attaching all the nozzles, t’s, and splits. I used a small butane torch and quickly heated the tip of the hose before adding any attachments and I had zero issues getting them on. I have ran them the entirety of this summer and had no failures at any point, and by now there’s a lot of portions completely buried by the elements. I would recommend this to any gardener, beginners to lifelong backyard green thumbs.
Good starter kit for a small garden, seems to hold pressure well. I did not have to put the 1/4″ hoses in boiling water or whatever to get the connections on. Just some hose water for lube and wiggle it onto the barb. Getting the connections OFF the barb to adjust the system is the hard part.
I do wish it came with more 1/2″ hose. No telling what other hose types might be compatible. Be aware that if you have a lot of individual connections, you’ll want to home-run as much as you can to the large 1/2″ to 4x 1/4″ barb junction fittings. You lose far too much pressure if you try to daisy chain the big sprinklers off of each other on just 1/4″ line with t-taps.
Let me tell you about the MIXC 226FT Greenhouse Micro Drip Irrigation Kit—it’s a total game-changer! Seriously, this thing has made watering my plants a walk in the park. I can’t help but rave about it, but I’ll also throw in a small critique, because no product is perfect. Here’s why I’m absolutely loving this kit:
The coolest thing about this kit is the 4×6-Way CONNECTOR feature. It’s like magic! It divides the water into 16 different paths, ensuring every plant gets its fair share of water. No more dry spots or plants feeling left out.
What I love most is the versatility this kit offers. It comes with three types of sprayers, so you can choose the perfect watering mode for your plants. Microdroplets, sprays, or regular watering—you name it, this kit’s got your back! And the best part? You can adjust each nozzle individually, so your plants get exactly what they need.
Now, let’s talk about saving water. This kit is an eco-warrior! It helps you save up to a whopping 70% of water compared to traditional watering methods. It delivers water slowly and precisely right at the root zone, so there’s no waste. Not only are your plants happy, but the environment is too.
Here comes my small critique: While this kit is super versatile, it does have one minor downside. Sometimes, the barbed fittings can be a bit tricky to work with. It took me a few tries to get them securely attached. But hey, with a little patience and practice, it all worked out fine. It’s just something to keep in mind.
But let me tell you, the versatility of this automatic irrigation kit is off the charts! It’s not just for your garden—it can do so much more. Want to mist your patio? No problem. Need to cool down your rooftop on a hot day? It’s got you covered. This kit is a jack-of-all-trades, and it’s made my gardening experience so much more enjoyable.
To wrap it up, if you’re tired of the hassle of manual plant watering, the MIXC 226FT Greenhouse Micro Drip Irrigation Kit is an absolute must-have. It’s easy to set up, versatile in its watering modes, and helps you save water while keeping your plants happy. Sure, the barbed fittings might require a little extra attention, but it’s a minor bump on an otherwise smooth road. Treat yourself to this amazing kit and make your gardening life a breeze!
This system worked great for me.
What you need to know – the absolute end of the tube is for one of the single barbs connected to a mist nozzle.
Use a lighter for a few seconds to heat up the tubing to insert over one of the single barbs or barbed tee.
0) Make sure you are properly connected to a hose and there is enough water pressure for your system.
1) Basically, for the end of the tube, heat it up for a few seconds, put it over the cone shaped part of the single barb. Make sure the mist nozzle is secure on the end of the single barb.
2) Further down the tube, cut it where you want to add a mist nozzle. The part no longer connected to the hose, heat it up, put one part on the barbed tee.
3) Cut off a small piece of tubing from what is left connected to the hose, heat up one end of this short piece for the single barb and mist nozzle, and the other end for the barbed tee.
4) The part of the tubing that is left connected to the hose, heat up and slide it over the remaining section of the barbed tee.
Adjust the mist nozzles for spray as you deem necessary.
Use support stakes as necessary to keep your tubing in place.
You will need likely longer tubing than you think because you lose little pieces of it as you cut these off to connect the single barb with the mist nozzle attached to the barbed tee. Also, there needs to be some extra so that the system is not very tight, unless you know exactly how you will plan it out.
I am very happy with this product and I have no leaks anywhere because I used the lighter to heat up the end of the tubs and slide them on. Thank you to the other reviewers who told me to do this.
So many options and easy to plan and lay out. The small connectors are hard to connect to the pipes but probably have to be that way to ensure they don’t pop off under pressure.
Need to get more things but it look like good to be fu
The large hose works fine and easy to attach and cut, the small tube though is really hard to get on the sprinkler heads and connectors. Seems solid once they are on but, i do not have weak hands and this was still a pain. Not sure if thats good or bad yet. Might meant a really great connection but, really i think its just that the tube is stiff.
The sprinkler heads work good, I connected some other items i had from another rainbird drip system i had as well and they connected fine and are working. I have a pressure limiter on the line as well o be safe.
I struggled for a bit with the quarter inch tubes. But I read a review where somebody hated the end with the lighter. That worked great. I just installed them today, set a time with Bell, but so far it’s working great.
This is probably my favorite purchase of the year. I travel extensively and can’t relay on faulty weather forecasts. This item is simply amazing! It sets up easily and comes with PLENTY of heads for various watering patterns. My only caution which the company does not make note of is water pressure. When I first set it up, the water pressure blew a hole in the feeder hose. I learned to open the end cap just enough to regulate pressure so that it WOULDN’T blow a hole. I love this product and have recommended it to my gardening friends! I have it connected to a WiFi enabled water faucet and it is set up and done for the year!
I really liked how easy it was to set up and run the lines around my yard. I had to purchase 100ft extra of 1/2 tubing. I will buy again in the future!
Relatively easy to install. Only come with 1 end cap, so if you are splitting the run like me, you will need to buy extra end cap to terminate the run.
With this kid I can water almost, every single plant I have, the whole kit is gold for all types of watering depending on plant. I love this kit probably will buy another.
Recommend supplier add more 1/2 inch water line and less 1/4 inch water line.
We set this system up, along with a wifi timer, on my roses and hybiscus before leaving for a week long vacation. We came back to the happiest roses that I’ve ever had. Then we purchased a second set to extend to other parts of the yard. My plants and I are very happy.
I was delighted to receive this drip-line set-up. The instructions are easy to follow.
This kit comes with everything I needed to create a sprinkler system for the flower beds and garden in my back yard. I still have extra hose left over and as long as you adjust each head appropriately then it’ll water everything evenly. You could buy a few extra parts and run two separate lines that would have a wider spray, but I ran everything close to the plants and it works amazingly. If I ever need to do this again, I’m buying this for sure. The pieces fit very tightly, which is what you want so that it’ll last for a long time without leaks. This was my first time installing a sprinkler system and I was able to do it very detailed in a couple hours.
I don’t have a particularly strong pump but there’s plenty of tubing and the nozzles seem to work quite well
Using a programmable faucet timer made irrigating our garden much less of a chore! Saved water and money!
This kit made it so easy to make a custom watering system for my garden, both raised beds and ground level. Now I just want to add a timer or wireless control to fully utilize the benefits of this new system.
Was easy to set up and use, simply measure, cut and put together then turn on.
I used this in my garden bed for the plants if front of my house and it works great. It takes a few minutes to think through a design but once you start it’s easy to install. The pressure is great and a lot of water comes out of each one even at the end. I do wish there were more branch connections to connect the 1/4 hoses to the larger main hose and a longer main hose. I’ll probably buy more to extend it. I was worried some of the 1/4 hose pieces I cut were too long and water wouldn’t get to the end but I’m the end it was fine. There is a lot of 1/4 hose left over at the end. I used the drip hose in my last house and it was so ineffective, had to leave the water running 20mim to get enough to each plant, but this one I’ll probably only need to run a few minutes because it works so well.
I bought this as an Amazon lightning deal. It is performed well and was easy to assemble. Easily less than half the cost of the competition. Great product.
Systematically works great with our setup, so far this summer winter could be a different obstical when that time comes we will figure it iu
I like the variety of drip attachments and compression fittings. Wish it had cut off valves. Had to buy more 1/2″ tubing only because of needing longer main line. I hope the soft tubing does not pop off because of high temp. Will need to lower pressure just right. Overall great system.
Variety of fittings and plenty of them. Seemed quite robust. Take care with assembly ensure hoses are pushed all the way over the fittings or they can pop off. Jets adjustable to get right flow.
Fiddly but needs all the component parts. Get a water/hose timer or you may as well stand there with a hose or watering can. Great, with timer, if you are away on holiday. You may well need longer pipes and more nozzles to cover more areas.
Works very well and I am grateful for the previous reviewer who suggested getting a pressure reducer and showed picture with details. Takes some time to set up as tubing has to be put into very hot water for 10 seconds in order to make it maleable for inserting all of the connecting pieces.
I used this product with a programmable timer to water potted plants. It was easy to install but I needed more of the 1/2″ hose and way less of the 1/4″ hose. I bought extra hose and will be able to finish the install. The only complaint I have is the larger hose is not very rigid but it has worked for what I am using it for so far. Great price for the amount of pieces you get in the kit!!!
Bought two of them for around the house for plants and shrubs when leaving on vacation. Love them. Work great. Purchased programmable timers as well separately.
They work well together. Saves having to water by hand everyday. Add a “splitter” so you can have a garden hose for separate use.
Almost perfect and it works pretty well. I am planning to purchase a second one to extend the system to the other side of the house.
The contents of the kit seem almost like a toy, the pieces are small. Each irrigator is intended to water a single plant, but it comes with enough units to do the job we needed – and have parts left over.
It is easy to assemble, but I would recommend the use of garden gloves when pushing the hoses into the couplers, you can either cut yourself or develop a couple of blisters.
Each sprayer can be adjusted to the particular watering needs of the plant, which is a nice feature.
The kit comes with everything you need, even Teflon tape for attaching to the water spigot and minimize leaks. Plenty of 1/4″ tubing to cover a large area. The 1/2″ tubing, in our case, was just about right.
Recommendations to the user: “measure twice, cut once”. Planning your layout before starting is key to getting good results. The kit includes a model layout using all the pieces, which is useful, but it wastes a substantial amount of material. The same layout can be achieved with a fewer number of couplers and fewer hose segments. A 1/4″ branch can easily handle up to 4 sprayers and save you tubing and couplers. Also, a branch can be terminated without the need of a T coupler, the extra short tube and the plug, just feed the tube into the last sprayer; less work and less material.
So why not a 5-star rating? I think the product can use some design improvements (neither one is a show stopper):
The kit comes with a 1/2″ end plug that requires a short length of 1/2″ hose and a double hose attaching operation. A simple twist cap that replaces the tightening coupler of the 4-way barbed T would have cost the manufacturer less money and would make it easier and faster to install.
The same applies to the end plugs for the 1/4″ lines. They require an extra segment of tubing. A plug that attaches directly to the coupler would make things simpler.
All in all, the system is pretty good. Supplement it with an automatic timer valve, and you have a very good irrigation system for your plants.
My tomato plants on back porch were not getting enough water with me just dumping water on them. This waters them slowly and they perked right up and I got 3 new tomatoes that night. A must have with this drought we are having. Great price thank you. Easy instructions to follow
I am very happy with the Greenhouse Micro Drip Irrigation Kit. I was able to install the irrigation system in my patio in about two hours. Except for the timer, that you need to buy separately, the kit has all the necessary parts for easy installation.
Attaching the fittings to the sprinkler pieces can be difficult but it works well one installed.
This is a great irrigation set. I did have to go out and buy a heat gun for all the fittings. I could not get the fittings pushed in without it. Once I purchased the heat gun, the job went much quicker. I turned the system on and nothing popped off. This will save me so much work every day. I have a lot of potted plants and was always dreading going out and watering them every day. My pots are huge, and I have pots that have side holes. It takes quite a long time to get all the plants thoroughly watered. I would have liked a little more 1/2″ tubing, but I made it work. I will use some landscaping pins to make sure the irrigation lines stay in place, and I have no tripping hazard after the mulch is put down. I’m also going to put some steppingstones down so I can safely walk on the mulch and bypass stepping on the irrigation lines.
5 stars because it is good quality for the price. 3 stars for “easy to assemble” – no matter what brand purchase, this will take a big of patience….and you will 100% be sprayed in the face at least 6 times while testing and thinking you’ve got it perfect. It just take a little patience!
Once it is all set up and you’ve made the adjustments, it works great and is as expected. Great product and happy with the order.
We bought this since I’ve been leaving home a lot to help take care of my grandparents and my husband forgets to water the garden when I’m away. Absolutely love it! We’re about to order more for the plants we are moving to buckets and other pots! I recommend getting this with one of the rainpoint water timers! They work perfect together and have saved my garden!
I still need to get a auto valve but i can connect the hose and walk away for 20 min and everything is watered and much better than i would with just the hose.
I originally bought this back in April to help water the plants in the green house while away. Set up was easy, if you find the tubing is too stiff to push onto the barbed ends then just soak the end in hot water and you’re good to go! So far it’s held up nicely. I love how the 1/2in tubing is flexible though I wish they added longer lengths to the kit or an option to buy more separate.
I recently have decided to extend the irrigation system to water more of the garden for me. I used rainbird 1/2 in tubing to extend it out (my yard is long so in order to maintain good water pressure you need to use the bigger diameter to help). It fit great with the tube fittings that came with this and made it a breeze to add on. I was originally worried because people have said certain brands are different sizes but these still worked just fine.
All in all I love this kit. Only things I would change are longer 1/2in tubing and replace the blue tip emitters to the orange since those actually have a radius for sending water while the blue doesn’t shoot water anywhere.
Works good, one of the 4 main fittings came defective so I am 4 sprinklers short. Other than that its good
I bought one set for watering our backyard flower pots, hanging flower pots, vegie beds, vegie pots as well as flower rows (hostas, hydrangeas, roses etc). What a time saver it is!
Once you get one of these watering timers and set them for 15 minutes early morning that is all it takes to keep my backyard garden veggies watered and all my flowers lively colorful. Thiswatering set I used to deliver water into ~50 spots in my backyard garden. I run out of tubing so I got second set just to get extra tubing and have bunch of spare fittings left, in case they fail overtime, hopefully not for a long time… So far so good…
We used it for a 12X12 Vegetable garden plot in our community garden. It comes with 2 types of sprinklers each of quantity 10 and misting sprayers. The pressures on each sprinkler can be adjusted individually.
Very sturdy and does the job, the reach of each sprinkler is great. We installed it along with a timer so that it helps with the watering schedule while we are away.
Je vais pargner 1h00 chaque jour pour arroser mon jardin! Trs facile installer. Pression gale du dbut la fin ( j’ai 2 kit complet d’installer bout bout ) Les buses sont ajustable en jet ou en brume. J’adore!
I like the adjustable water flow ..I use the mist. Easy to assemble but will take some time to put together. Once I got it going, the water flowed through nicely. On a couple of occasions an orange an tip came off and water spouted up..water flow on the other sections was cut off due to this. Had to heat up the tubing really well and reconnect it. Be careful not to melt the tubing . Now I can be away for days because it is connected to a timer.
My only issue with this kit is that in hot sun the thin tubbing becomes soft and I’ve had nozzles pop off when watering. Solution is to reduce the main valve and lower the water pressure
We used this with the Rainbird Risman1s (Rain Bird RISMAN1SM RISMAN1S… https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W6YV3QI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) adapter so one of our spray heads could still pop up and water a very small flowerbed while allowing a drip line to also water our potted plants. Worked like a charm. No need to hire someone to water our plants while we are out of town anymore and no more stressing about about forgetting to water. Especially loved that the orange nozzles are adjustable and allow us to water some plants more than others. We used all but 6″ of the tubing and were worried about the pressure dropping at the spray head but we’re pleasantly surprised that wasn’t an issue. Easy to install.
This is a very comprehensive system that offers a good variety of pieces. I ordered a few different systems to see what would work the best. This system turned out to be the winner.
I needed a system that could supply irrigation for appx. 200′ of running garden area. Due to the area I needed to cover, I did run into a couple issues. The lengths of both hoses weren’t enough to cover the length I needed. This company offers the 1/4″ tubing and their various sprinkler pieces to be purchased separately, but not their 1/2″ tubing. I was able to purchase 100′ feet of Rain Bird 1/2″ Tubing (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WU5GGQ) that fit the 6-way connectors nicely – though it was more rigid that the tubing in this set. But it actually worked out for the better, as the tubing supplied in this set is almost too soft after it lays out in the sun for some time.
The one thing that would be nice is if they made a 4-way 1/2″ connector (with two 1/4″ connectors vs the four 1/4″ connectors).
We’ve purchased multiple sets of this irrigation system. They work great in our garden. The tubing is tight but it really helps to dip them in hot water before pushing on to sprinklers. These have saved us hours in watering.
I wish I could buy less pieces as I did not need them all. But the ones I need are in the package so all is good!
First of all, you need good water pressure. Most city water systems should be good, but if you’re on a well, peep that PSI before you start.
Second, have reasonable expectations. I ran one entire set through my garden, using every T joint and every nozzle, and with the nozzles set to spray just a bit (i.e. not go full blast) I had plenty of pressure. When I added a second kit, and used all the T joints and nozzles again, I did run out of water about 1/3 of the way down the line. All I did was turn a few nozzles off entirely, and lowered the amount coming out of the others to a trickle. Since the nozzles were right at the base of the plants for the most part, and I’ve got some straw down to help keep the moisture in, they’ll still get what they need.
N.B.: Use a lighter when putting it all together. The tubing has to be warmed before it fits over the various joints, then it seals well when it cools. I had no leaks with this method. If you don’t have a lighter and only have matches, put a small candle in a bowl and hold the tubing over it for a bit to warm it instead. (Also saves you a bunch of butane.)
Comes with a zillion connectors for your hose, so I can’t imagine it not working for whatever setup your house has for exterior plumbing. A great little kit for the price.
We’ll still use it in different area than we originally planned.
Thus was easy to install to water my roses and pots off patio. Adjustable heads were easy to attach and adjust water flow to make the system efficient and not waste water. I will add another one next year when I put in a garden.
Plan out number of sprayer heads needed. Typical city line with mid- pressure allows 4-6 heads per line.. use manifolds to keep lines shorter.. we used 3 lines each on 2 separate manifolds to have 30 sprinklers/misters functioning well.. best to do on hot day tubing easier to work with!! Use boiling water to heat end of tubing to get ‘T’s’, connectors on well!
The set is easy to use. I wish the 1/2 inch flexible pipe would be offered separately for those who need more. The following pipe works, but it is not as flexible.
Raindrip 052010P 1/2-Inch-by-100-Foot Poly Hose , Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007WO8YU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4VA99J2B1MQSCQNS8YE6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I ordered 2 sets, one of them had really stiff tubing that was nearly impossible to install, the other had really soft tubing that was much easier to install. This would be 5 stars if the tubing was consistent and easy to use.
Pour irriguer ma serre. Facilit d’installation et fonctionne trs bien.
I use this irrigation system to water potted plants on our deck when we are away for a few days. There are 16 pots all seem to get plenty of water. Have it set up on a timer to water twice a day. It was easy to setup and adjust.
For the people saying this tubing is garbage, have no idea how to fit tubing. These tubes are meant to be heated to fit on the fittings once heated push it on it’s super easy and let cool down it will take it’s Shape and never come off. Using a lighter does the job and the spray tips usually require 30-60 psi(house water pressure) to work fully and with multiple sprayers.
Too a couple of hours to set up in my polly tunnel, works like a dream
Overall, I liked the product. Only issue I had concerned the 1/4″ tubing. I had ordered two kits— each on separate order. The 1/4″ tubing was stiffer on first order and much softer on second order. Each tubing had its pluses and minuses depending on what pieces were being installed on the tubing. In most cases it was much easier to install pieces using a butane lighter to soften tubing than trying to force unheated tubing on them.
Really easy to install, instructions had great photos and diagrams. Take your time thinking about your layout. I do recommend a pressure reducer to prevent the popping of sprinkler and drip heads. So nice to have water directed to my garden and not have to pay someone to install it.
I ordered two sets; one for my bag farm and a second for the above ground. Assembly took about two hours for the first and about an hour for the second. What I learned from the first was to assembly line the process. I only used the in-ground stakes so attached all the tag lines and precut all the others. Another tip is to evenly distribute the sprayer heads on the main line distribution manifold.
Couldn’t be more pleased the price, setup and operation.
This is a good value in terms of the cost for as many bits and pieces as you get. I also ordered another 100ft of 1/4″ line and I’m glad I did because I needed it. Some of the sprinklers don’t work, but for this price I kind expect a couple duds. Overall it works well. I would buy it again. One thing that the instructions don’t say — use a heat gun or lighter to warm up tubing before pushing it on. That will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I originally hated this product. It was flimsy and didn’t work well. Until I tried some things. Now I really like it.
First of all, you need boiling hot water to soak the tubes in for about 20 to 30 seconds. Even super hot tap water is not hot enough, it has to be boiling hot. I took a stainless steel mug out with me to keep the water warm for longer as I set it up. The hot water allows a better connection, but it doesn’t connect if it’s not hot enough. The instructions tell you warm water, but trust me, you need boiling hot.
Second, don’t hook it to your faucet, find something else that it can be hooked to and that hooks to your faucet. For me, I have a hose splitter that I connected it to, I have multiple things set up on it now so I can choose what I want running. Otherwise you can’t use your hose spigot for anything else. It also allows the 1/2 in tube to go further as you don’t have to run it through the yard. A regular hose you don’t care about would work too.
Third, be gentle once it is connected, it does break easy if you step on a hose or something accidentally. I have this set up in a vegetable garden so I’m always in the garden and have learned to watch my step very very carefully.
With enough work this can be set up and work well. But it is very frustrating to get it to work, it’s not super straight forward.
You’ll need to use zip ties or glue on the tips of the connections because over time heat causes the tubed to expand and not stay onto the connections. I’ve been having to add zip ties every so often. For the price, you get a good amount of equipment.
My son is growing a garden in our backyard, and he loves this drip irrigation system kit. ( not to mention he loves irrigation all the way ) it took him about 30 min to set up, and he is growing tomatoes, peppers, squash, ( squash seeds next to red dripers ) and eventually beans and cantaloupe. Also, the cat loves the garden too!!
This kit was perfect for setting up a garden drip system for vegetable boxes and many flower pots. We had to buy an extra siphon to add it to our Rachio system timer, but otherwise it worked just fine. We’ve already added on some extra pots and needed a few more larger watering pins but they were easily purchased and fit into the system just fine. A great starter kit with everything we needed, much better than an earlier system we tried to use!
Good drip system kit for the money, parts seem well-made but it only has one connector for your timer or garden hose. Would be nice to have two hose connectors for separate installs.
They seem to be fine for the price. Was not happy with the larger tube that was supplied. It was real flimsy and did not want to have it kink so I went to the hardware store and got a stronger tube.
Test what your water pressure can drive on one of the 1/4″ lines. I was limited to 2 sprinkler heads only.
Good kit but if you have a big flower bed, get more of the 1/4″ splitter. I just order another 10 of them to replace the sprinkler system on my deck next weekend.
The kit is more than complete. It will allow any combinations.
Install is ok, dont get fooled by the 226 ft, this is for 1/4 inch tubing but if your faucet is far, you need to focus on the 26 ft number, the main feeding hose.
Install is ok, a bit difficult to fit the 1/4inch on each barb, its get old when you need to plug 40 of them.
It does the job but as you go down the line, pressure goes down so it seems that first plants closest to first feeding line get more water.
Arrived in good order.
Been used on vegetables garden and plants.
I will deal with the company again.
I bought this set of irrigation tubing with nozzles as an introduction to my living off the grid practice. I am currently using my hose spigot from the house until I can purchase a 12VDC pump that can connect to my rain barrel.
Using the hot water in a small cup is the best way to soften the tubing for the first connection. I tried to speed up the process and use my heat gun but that was a mistake since the tubing melts quickly and does not for a great seal on the barbed tee or straight connectors for the heads. I only lost about a few inches of tubing testing that method but saved myself grief in the future with leaks or tubing bursts.
This kit arrives in a resealable bag with another resealable bag for the components. I will save the hose and adjustable clamp for when I attempt to connect to my rain barrel.
I originally submitted a negative review. Now that I have had time to figure it out, this kit works well. The emitters can be a little hard to adjust but once you get the hang of it, you can choose anything between ‘drip, drip, drip’ to a full blown mist that easily covers a 3×3 area. The tubing can be a real pain to connect to the emitters. They suggest dipping them in hot water before attaching but that’s no practical when you are out in the yard. I’m going to try a drop of KY Jelly next. I attached the tube & emitter to a bamboo skewer so tje emitter would face up. That allows a larger area to be misted. For hanging plants, I closed to emitter as much as possible and just let it hang over the plant. Even then, it still dripped too much, but it will have to do. All in all, the kit serves its purpose, but turn your hose on slowly to avoid blowouts. There are a few watering timers that also gradually allow the pressure to increase when they turn on.
