As the title suggests, I am very glad I bought this set.
I am disabled but still like to be able to pot around in the garden and after moving to a new home recently, I want to plant hundreds of spring and summer bulbs for next year flowering.
Current tools I have are quite heavy and awkward for me to move about. Therefore, I looked first at various cheepy hoe/fork double tool products to enable me to dig trenches to plant the bulbs. However, feedbacks for all of them complained about the tool either breaking in use or spinning in the mount. Then I found this set on Amazon which had very good feedbacks. Boy Were they correct!
The set arrived super quick and immediately on opening I found 2 free items, not mentioned in the listing – these being a pair of smallish rubberised gloves and a kneeling pad. Good customer service that! Maybe not super quality but nevertheless heart warming!
The garden tool set itself is superb and of high quality – well worth the 40 odd price tag. The tools are well made and look to be very durable. I’ve not yet used the set but do not expect any problems.
The tool fixing system utilises a hex fitting that pushes into the handles and CANNOT spin in the mounting. The two oversized fastening nuts ensure the tool cannot pull out in use – fantastic unique and well designed system.
The carbon steel tools look to be covered in a rubberised coating and all plastics are quality heavy duty.
The weight is not as light as I had hoped – thus my 3 star rating – that said, the result is in no way over heavy, especially to non disabled able folk. Anything lighter would result in weak low grade materials being used – the quality to weight ratio is spot on in my opinion.
So far I have no reservation in recommending this set at any price
I bought this because of the long handle and the adze-like tool. Well, the long handle turned out to be a little too short for me and in two pieces which have to be screwed together. When in use the adze is very effective but the handle tends to unscrew. The above may be no problem to others. The tools are well made and more than adequate for the job.
