Really sturdy and powerful. A bit tricky to assemble and very heavy but well worth the money
So far working great, have it for a few months now, my husband is using it for running at the weekends and I am using it for walking as I hate running, but it is a great and sturdy machine. Had some issues with it once but JLL customer support is great and fast and sorted out quickly.
Arrived quickly, good packaging to avoid damage. Seems pretty sturdy once built. Instructions could have been a bit clearer as there seemed to be a lot of areas for bolts that weren’t actually listed in the instructions so assembly is part common sense too on where to put the left over bolts. Easy to use and does the job. Doesn’t seem to log much info but does distance, speed and rough cal count which is all you really need if just looking to shift some lockdown weight.
Easy to assemble and use, only downfall is you have to download your music onto a USB drive to be able to listen to through the speakers. However the drink holder makes a good mobile phone holder so still able to listen to my music. Smooth run and good incline options. Overall well worth the money spe
Good quality product, very robust and stable. The monitor is very easy to use and the folding running track is a useful option.
Excellent customer service and delivered on time.
I found the instructions a little bit unclear when I put it together, particular connecting the arms to the main body, but once I’d figured it out, it came together easily. I run 5k around 3/4 times a week and no complaints so far (1 month in).
This is my first ever treadmill, but I did do a lot of research beforehand. I love how easy it is to put together. I did manage to do it alone, but only just – I would recommend 2 people. The machine is a great size and feels really sturdy. The company have videos on YouTube to show you how to assemble it, which I felt was a great touch. Can’t fault it!
Product arrived on time delivery man was really helpful as very heavy parcel he took it into the hall for me watching my flooring. My son assembled it for me, and had to watch YouTube for some of the assembly but found it easy.
I have been using the treadmill since purchased and find it is easy to use and I am loving it. The instruction booklet on how to use are clear and precise. Very happy with my purchase, however could be better if had Bluetooth.
Bought this product to try and build up some fitness at home and was overwhelmed with the amount of different products and prices out there. We decided to give this one a go as the reviews were good and the price felt like like the middle of the road. It doesn’t disappoint. It’s relatively quiet, you do hear some noise but it’s not disruptive. Really really sturdy and wide enough to run on comfortably. Defo worth the money.
Product is excellent but check with supplier as delivery by DX a nightmare. Will never purchase anything from a company that would use them.
After being very inactive I need to get mobile again, this has definitely helped. I use it for a fast walk but obviously if you are fitter it can be used to run. I can get the same workout as the gym but handy. It has a nice long walking area and being tall 5.10 my stride is long. I would recommend.
Absolutely fantastic treadmill! We’ve been looking at treadmills for months now and read a review about the S300 on a runners’ website.
It came exceptionally well packaged, no damage at all, all parts were in the box and very easy to assemble. Instructions were clear and the booklet is very informative.
The treadmill runs very quiet, we added extra silicone lubricant (included) to the running deck before use as we didn’t know how long it’s been in the box. It’s a very sturdy frame and all parts have been painted and assembled to a very high standard. The incline system adds excellent resistance to an already very quick motor so a good workout can be achieved. My wife is of a high standard of fitness and she uses it at least once a day, even the kids have started asking to use it which makes a nice change from tablets and computers. We’ve noticed no belt alignment problems or slip thus far.
So yeah, 5 out of 5 from us, the hard part is getting rid of the massive box it came in!
I am very happy with the purchase of the running machine. Easy to use. Easy to assemble and folding.
The treadmill arrives flat packed and requires minimal assembly with straight forward instruction and very easy
The treadmill itself feels sturdy and robust and is in daily use for me walking and my daughter as a runner, it remembers our programs, the incline is good and speed rivals if not surpasses the alternatives
Very happy with this purchase, and customer services is second to none
Great purchase
Thanks
I purchased this for my father. Dad loves this piece of equipment. Its sturdy and is able to carry his weight. The monitors are easy to understand, it’s a brilliant piece of kit.
He started off doing 5 minutes, and now hes doing 30 minutes twice a day.
Thank you for your great customer service.
This is my first Treadmill and I have brought this after reading all positive reviews from the Internet and let’s see if it lived up to expectation.
I have ordered this from Amazon and I got the treadmill way before the committed delivery date. If I can remember I got the delivery in 10 working days (with timely SMS and EMAILS on delivery updates), this is 20 days early than the initial estimated date – Order 5 STAR for the delivery.
Setup instructions are very clear and simple. Easy if you have two guys assembling this. I did it with my mate and it took us 30 – 45 mins – Setup 4.5 Star
I have been using it for more than a month, no complaints other than the belt goes sidewise after a weeks of usage, again re-adjusting is so simple and all the tools are included in the package and there are any videos from YouTube for easy guidance. – Product function 4.5 Star
I have set up this in my Living Area and have no issues with the size and the machine is solid and stable which is very impressive. – Stability 4.5 Star
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and recommend this if anyone looking for a good indoor treadmill. -Overall 5 STAR
We loved this treadmill so much it ended up being in our lounge for months! The whole family have been using it consistently now, since January. The belts are easy to tighten, accessibility is great, control panel is user friendly. Would happily recommend.
This treadmill is very good for the price. We did look around to buy a treadmill but others were too expensive as were over 1000 – 3000. Apart from having a few fiddly areas when assembling (thank goodness my husband was able to work it out) we finally put the treadmill together. (you Tube have a video to watch re assembling).
It has the basic readings which is all you need so I would recommend this product.
My wife and myself are extremely pleased with the overall performance of our latest addition to the home.
We have been housebound like many others for the past 10 months and as such daily exercise had become a boring routine.
Since delivery, and assembling our treadmill we have been able to exercise daily without getting cold or wet and enjoyed the experience.
We do find the display and function settings a trifle daunting, but; we are senior citizens as our children reminded us.
Needed technician to assemble. Sturdy enough on flat but once incline is above 5% it starts to rattle a bit unless you hold support arms. No “pause workout” button which is frustrating for how much it cost. Simple machine overall. Fine for walking on maybe not running if you’re of a larger size.
The machine is a great alternative to attending a gym. It was getting used to a narrower machine but I am really pleased that I purchased it.
I needed a good quality home treadmill when lockdown separated me from my Technogym units. This treadmill is a quality product. It came in excellent packaging, without polystyrene (thank goodness) and had all the tools needed for the simple installation and clear instructions. It is easier to install with 2 people, however my son managed it on its own, with care and caution. The look and feel is professional with a large console and a good selection of programmes. The belt is a good length and width with a hard wearing feel. I particularly like the huge amount of incline levels, which was missing from most of the home treadmills. This is a heavy item and I would recommend placing on a good equipment mat to protect flooring.
Great sturdy product , works well plenty of power and speed for home gym , well made . Both myself and wife use it daily no issues at all .
Highly recommend this treadmill. I had to put it together myself and was fairly straightforward. I did have to message customer service with a question about the position of the console but I have to say, they responded very quickly & were very helpful. It’s been a godsend during this lockdown! Don’t hesitate if your wanting a treadmill.
Pretty easy to assemble, with instructions to follow. Big bulky box to move on my own though. Easy to set up and use, just need to keep using it now. Daughter (9) loves it to. Would definitely recommend this item
The instructions were easy to follow but two people are recommended to hold parts in place.
The treadmill itself works very well and has been great to use so far, much better than going to the gym!
On the console there is some minor damage to the plastic film cover and some small dents to the plastic casing. Everything else is so perfect this was a bit disappointing when it should appear brand new.
Not too big, folds, workmanlike. Does exactly what I expected. My husband easily put it together.
After doing a lot of search, I chose this treadmill because of its good reviews and medium price. It was easy to assemble and easy to use. Built in programs are good for a young person but not of much use to me.
It plays music from my iPhone X, but It did not play music from USB. Sound is good.
Incline function is excellent, display is brilliant and useful pause function.
I will recommend this treadmill for home use.
I bought this treadmill in 2015. I cannot recommend it enough!
I have been using it at least 3 times a week for 5 years and it is still going strong.
Very sturdy and long lasting, and also easy to use. It has definitely been a great buy for me, great value for money.
Really pleased this is perfect … easy to assemble ..although when you get to step 7 on assembly .. bringing the monitor forward … this is very stiff so you will need to push hard … it has plenty of programs that are all easy to use …
Ordering, customer service and deliver updates all perfect, the delivery guys also carried it upstairs for me, gents! Only set it up and know that it’s working so time will tell if it developes any problems. Here’s to being fitter on 2021.
We bought this in lockdown as gyms were closed – it’s a great item. We have it set up at all times as in the spare room but if you wanted to have it in a room that was used regularly it is quite big even when folded. It also does 20% incline which is great – I prefer an easier run but my partner uses the harder settings so works perfectly for us both.
Delivery date was difficult but in these times understandable… I paid to have it assembled … Easy to use and glad I have guarantees for parts
Now I’ve used this for a few months, thought I’d post a review. It’s quieter than my last treadmill (Reebok). It does what I expected it to. I sometimes find that I tread on the front guard when running – my last treadmill prevented this due to the position of the console frame. Although the belt is only 1cm narrower than the Reebok, it feels smaller to run on – I find I’m paying more attention to where I am when running. I didn’t pick up in the item description that all the units are metric – would have been nice to have one in miles not km. This will do for now, but wish I’d spent money on a bigger treadmill, as room is not an issue where we have ours. Oh and the drinks bottles holders are rubbish (but I don’t use them anyway).
I have only recently started to use this treadmill.
I had a question regarding delivery and this was answered straight away.
The delivery company emailed me and I choose a date (at no added cost) for delivery at my convenience.
The delivery guy was brilliant and put the boxed treadmill where I needed it to be (while using covid procedures).
My son is an engineer and he build the treadmill for me, he said following the instructions it was fairly easy and all tools came with the treadmill.
I have now used a few times and have no complaints, the treadmill is smooth and quiet.
I like the pre programmed settings, although I’ve not been through all of them and the tread mill has not inclined as stated, but I think that maybe user error. Iam 5 8′ andthe belt allows me to do a full stride without catching my foot on the end. I play my old ipod via the aux lead and the sound is good.
The only thing to note is it is fairly heavy which I didnt take into account when I bought it. I would highly recommended. I will update if any issues as I’ve only owned it for a week.
You may have read my two initial reviews, both of which ar good, and both still apply.
Now I’ll continue onto the music facility. What I wrote last time was.. “This is very basic and the sound quality is, let’s be honest, not great. However I can live with that. What is a bit irritating, though, is that each time you start the machine it begins the music at the beginning again.”
I have an extensive music collection and have two USB sticks packed with .mp3 files. I want to listen to them in a specific order, and have tried all ways to change the file names to determine the playback order. I have to admit defeat. I simply cannot change the playback order…. anyone out there got any clues??
Great treadmill, certainly feels a lot more expensive than it is. It is very robust, particularly important if you are overweight as it can support you up to 120kg which is great. Unfortunately the downside to that is the treadmill is very heavy. We setup in the living room as we would need to move furniture around in another room to accommodate but once you have put all the electrics together, it proves harder to want to break it down again. We’ll figure this out but I’m very pleased with it as I am not getting enough exercise now. Highly recommend, it’s excellent quality.
Works well, effective. Marathon session climbing Everest this week @ 20% and no overheating or dragging. Get plenty of silicon lube to keep the belt running smoothly.
update: this machine is coping really well with 4 daily users! not fast enough for a young man apparently, but 15kph is enough for the rest of us.
This is the best investment I’ve made to stay well & healthy in 2020 when both going to the gym & not being able to go due to lockdown. Brilliant cushioning in my room upstairs & easy to assemble. You need to have 2 strong guys to move it upstairs if it’s going in your home. I would highly recommend it as it’s just as good as any David Lloyd gym machines
Slight problem with delivery but that was quickly resolved by JLL to everyone’s satisfaction – thank you. Easy to assemble and use, and doesn’t take up too much room, pleased I chose this machine as it is comfortable to use too. All in all a nice addition to my home gym at a reasonable price.
I liked the sturdiness and the width of treadmill the programmes and I use it for walking and running on when its raining..
Very good value for the money. It is very robust and the controls are easy to use. Very quiet running.
I have only used the treadmill twice and it does the job. I am however disappointed with the speaker quality as when trying to listen to music the volume goes up and down as the connection is hit and miss. Trying to adjust it whilst running is a little precarious.
Machine arrival date on ordering was the Friday, good, just in time for weekend helpers to build it, then on Thursday I was asked what day I wanted delivery, so had to agree Monday.
Overall I’m chuffed though
WE bought this to replace a rather larger Weslo machine which was 25+ years old and had finally died. The JLL works well, has more features than the Weslo but is rather lighter weight construction. We use it every day for about 5km and after a couple of months have got used to it.
Works well – wonder how long it will last?
My wife and I purchased this treadmill because the local gym is closed due to the Covid-19 lockdown. It was very easy to assemble with the two of us.I am 14+stone and this treadmill is adequate for our needs. This is a very sturdy treadmill with 15 programs,or if you don’t use these you can just walk or jog .There is also the incline control. The speed and incline are controlled by buttons situated on the left and right handles. The display is in kilometres but I just printed a conversion chart. You can plug you phone or tablet into the supplied lead and your music plays through the speakers.
Really good heavily built machine..it takes two people to get it out of the box and position it but after that it is an easy one person put together,,the only small problem I had was getting the console into its working position,,This treadmill is very easy to use and greatly improved my fitness programme. Money well spent .
i bought it for my son, and its great product he had medical condition and its working great for him.only thing it had some extra position to hold for little children for age of 7 would be great, overall its great product to have it at home. using it for more then 2 years and never had any issue.
I use this his treadmill for me to do my walking indoor rather than going out in the cold and I can use it whenever I have the time.
The treadmill is good once assembled. Unfortunately playing music off a USB stick doesn’t seem to work on ours but the Aux input does. A real concern is moving the console attachment into its upright position during installation (stage 7 of installation process) which was very difficult despite following manual instructions and also the JLL video tutorials. The bolts were far to tight for it to move upwards as described and impossible to get access to them with the allen key provided to loosen them. My husband managed to get an “allen key bit” that came with a ratchet screwdriver set into position which was very fiddly but enabled him to loosen the console bolts using the bit and plyers. If he hadn’t managed this, we would have been forced to send it back.
Delivered ahead of time which was fantastic and super easy to assemble and already had my first run. very quiet. Highly recommended. Great communication with company at all times
Good product, easy to assemble but the treadmotor belt take a bit of tinkering after assembly to get right to stop that ‘pause’ sensation.
Easy to assemble, extremely sturdy, super quiet when at medium to fast running speeds; This treadmill wouldn’t look out of place in a high end gym. Living in a moderately sized flat, the JLL treadmill is big but it does not distract from the rest of the flat aesthetic. My partner and I live one flat up and I have been concerned about potential noise disturbances to the tenants below but with its cushioned running surface and quiet working noise, it’s probably the quietest treadmill I’ve ever used. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. A bargain at 499 considering many leading brands for the same level of equipment would be looking for at least 1.5x the price if not more.
Easy to assemble. The console was a little tricky to reach bolts to adjust angle of console. Would of been easier to have left bolts out and put in when assembling. Great treadmill though.
I weight about 90kg and takes my weight well, have had it for 4 years and have used it moderately and still works well, be sure to maintain i
Very nice treadmill, and very quiet and strong as well
Only had this a couple of days & I’m sure I’ll get used to the settings but, so far I don’t think it’s as user friendly as the Reebok I was considering (family member just got one so I’ve had a chance to use it in last couple of weeks). The console appears a bit small & a bit of a ‘oh, that’ll do’ but I guess 400 is baseline for this sort of equipment. The assembly instructions weren’t helpful towards the end & we had to resort to finding a video. The instructions are also not clear regarding the ‘programmes’ but I’m sure we’ll find a video to help. The console doesn’t go to sleep after use & the on/off switch is near the floor at the front so, you need consider this when positioning. Overall, I think I’m regretting not getting the Reebok but, as we’ll mainly use this for incline & power walking (especially in Winter) I hope this one will grow on me.
Ideal for use of all features. Only problem if you’re tall, I’m 6ft 1in, can’t easily reach handles. Can press buttons but, for example if you want to use heart monitor you will have to stoop. Also need to stoop if you want to hold handles while treadmill rolling.
If you step forward to hold you get too close to front, you will find yourself stepping on motor cover.
Excellent Treadmill, works brilliantly, easy to use, folds up nicely. You can play your phone music through the treadmill speakers, worth every penny.
Read lots of reviews about various treadmills and went for this one in the end. Not disappointed at all. It was delivered within the alloted time scale. It IS heavy and it took some effort to get it upstairs to the bedroom where it was going to stay. 2 Man job really. It was worth the effort though. It is used for walking – not running. It is well built and easy to put together. Had it for a couple of weeks and it has proved it’s worth. The longer guarantees that come with it are a bonus.
I bought this back in October and i have to say it is a GREAT machine, I had no problems with it at all. Unitl……my son had one his fits and smashed the screen on the LCD display.
I worte rather more in hope, do you hold spare parts for these machines?, “yes sir” came the reply, so for 76 I got a new part, the whole part happened to be the whole of the upper screen and hand rails.
The new part arrived the FOLLOWING morning, but unfortunately it was damaged so I called them again, they asked me to send some photos which i did, the next day they came back to me, another new spare part is on it’s way out to you.
Where do you find that kind of customer service these days? I tell you hardly anywhere.
I recommend 100% JLL, I recommend this treadmill.
JLL, well done for going the extra mile to keep your customer happy.
I absolutely love this treadmill which I bought to replace my rather basic one which stopped working. Feel really safe when running on it and actually look forward to my daily run especially during this cold weather when the thought of running outside fills me with dread. It was easy to assemble just needed two people to move it into place. I would definitely recommend.
Absolutely love this treadmill. Very sturdy, works well, was easy to assemble and arrived on time. The only downside is that it is very heavy and not easily manoeuverable 9 (as was indicated on the website before purchase), it also doesn’t fold up as flat as I would like. But it does work very well.
The treadmill was really easy to install and came very quickly. Great communication. However its not very stable. …
So the company got in contact with me and i have to say i am really impressed with the way they responded and helped. Thanks so much.
So it turns out it just might be a faulty batch i got. Hopefully we get this sorted.
Bought this for my husband who is 75 years old and was finding going for a long walk very painful. He had tried physiotherapy but it did not help. This treadmill can go at a very slow walking pace which is just what he needed. He started at the slowest pace and has been gradually increasing the speed. It has helped him a lot. Treadmills are not just for runners! The treadmill arrived very well packed using all cardboard – no polystyrene (great). It was not difficult to assemble even for us old people. It is very well made and pleasant to use. We are very pleased with it.
I purchased this treadmill in April of 2016 and have used it constantly. Build quality is superb, you really are getting a lot for your money. The only thing I have had to do is tighten the running belt, which is straightforward. Being able to fold it is a great benefit. As you can see from my picture I have a foldable JLL R200 Luxury Home Rowing Machine, which sits beneath it and takes very little space. Also I must say JLL Customer service is superb, any queries I have had have been dealt with promptly.
Being a curvy overweight lady I need something that I can do each evening indoors with no stress or fuss. This fits the bill perfectly! My Hubby put it together for me as I has no clue. It was delivered on time by 2 chaps- be aware its v v heavy and you will need help receiving it and then putting it together. It doesn’t fold flat which is a challenge as we have to limbo around it in the front room. Its quiet and has good features, inc measuring your heart rate, your weight (ekkk!!) and recording how much you have done. Its just what I need to get the weight off and start to get fit.
I love this treadmill, it feels so much better quality than my last one, and I’m sure it will last longer. The treadmill is very heavy (approx 77kg) and quite big, so required 2 strong people to get it in place. Quite easy to set up, although instructions aren’t the clearest. The speakers on it are surprisingly good as well. Increasing / decreasing speed is smooth and quick.
The only reason this is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn’t fold much, so will barely reduce the floor space when folded, and may need to be dismantled if we need the room.
Lovely treadmill just didn’t have a fast enough speed. Perfect for a beginner/moderate user. Folds away neatly too. Returned and refunded without any problems. Serious/faster runners would need something faster and sturdier in my opinion.
The product itself is brilliant, everything I could need as a mild health enthusiast. There were one or two marks on it, I suspect that this was where the product was ‘checked’ beforehand?.. All in all, decent.
Love this machine. The controls on the side arms are ideal for changing speed at will. Haven’t used all of the gadgets on it yet. The only minor gripe about it is that it doesn’t fold up as much as my last running machine.
I am 66 yrs old and bought this to do some daily walking and exercise. I liked the size as it was slightly smaller than others and fits perfectly where I have it placed. It has lots of programs and options but so far I am only using the speed and incline. Does need two people ideally to put it together but seller advised that. I am very pleased with it.
Very easy to assemble
The machine has lots of extras and is used on a daily basis
Starting with the Delivery – JLL made several calls to set it up – they booked me a 2 Man delivery and this is Vital because I needed to get the Kit to an upstairs room and the delivery guys handled this with No Issue – So very Good Service from JJL – Assembly was straightforward you do get a Lot of Boxes to deal with but No Issues and I was able to Do it myself – The Treadmill itself I would give 5/5 – I have had it for a full month I use it 5 out of 7 days and it is Great Fun and Feels Solid Under-Foot – In Treadmill terms it is a Budget machine and I was worried it might be Weaker than I would want – But it is a Good Piece of Home Exercise Equipment and Performs really well – No Complaints of Any Kind
Had a few problems with delivery date due to error with the delivery courier arrived a week later than originally planned.
Product was easy to assemble and very satisified with it works a treat. I would recommend this product.
This is an excellent treadmill. It is my first so nothing to compare to, but there’s plenty of width and length in the belt to feel comfortable running at higher speeds. It also feels very sturdy once all the bolts are tightened.
You should really have two people to remove it from the packaging and move the base into position. It was a real struggle moving it on my own and in retrospect should have waited until I could get some help.
Assembly was relatively straightforward. However, whether it was the way mine had been packed after being tested at the factory, or whether some of the instructions are the wrong way round, I had to resort to getting some mole grips out to loosen some bolts hidden below the display as the supplied allen key would not fit. There is also no where that I can see to screw the plastic cover onto the frame. Mine is simply sitting on it and does not move, so this hasn’t affected operation at all, but just something to note.
All in all though I fully recommend it. You only need to set it up once after all, and it feels like it’ll last years.
Minimal installation required at home. I’ve been putting it through its paces for a week now and I have no complaints. It is exactly as advertised; it is easy to use. I recommend studying the handbook prior to setting it up and using it – there are some very important facts to understand e.g. not starting the motor whilst standing on the running deck (a habit I was previously guilty of in gyms). Allow yourself plenty of room before diving in to unwrap.
If I had any minor quibble it would be to ask JLL to ensure the handbook was more readily accessible in the packaging – I was knee deep in cardboard before I got to it, and sad as it may seem to some, I do actually seek that read to avoid inadvertently damaging something through ignorance.
Nice treadmill, easy to assemble, good instructions, I was just able to carry the base to were I needed to use it, folds up when not needed to save space, this is a solid bit of kit and looks it. Have only used program 1 back to back to give 4KM walk/run and 7KMH speed for 200M running bursts. Used for 45 mins each session and all works ok, The speed and incline work from the handles aswell as the screen, you can adjust the screen brightness to, when using a program before a speed change you get a bleep just before the change, the walking areas are 48″ x 16″, Using iPhone sound level app at speed 5Kmh gives about 60 decibels and about 63 at speed 8Kmh reading from 5ft away so not to noisy, haven’t tried the audio yet so can’t comment. Not to hard to lift the belt up to apply lubricant, When finished you can lift the base up with one hand and locks in place and just by pushing on the hydraulic lock the base lowers to the floor nice and smoothly enough. The treadmill has 12 orange shock adsorbers under the running area so it’s better on your joints than running on the pathway and less likely to go over on your ankles being perfectly flat. I’m happy with this purchase so far have no complaints, have not had to make any belt adjustments yet.
Relatively easy to setup (although I had problems releasing the screws holding the panel in shipping state, ended up having to take the panel apart) and it works well enough. Don’t need a fancy gym-style one, just need to pound the streets with adjustable gradient and this fits the job. Not sure of the space-saving of lifting up the running deck, the saving you get is negated by the thing hanging in the air!! But even so, I’m happy with it, and it will help in the rehabilitation of my knees!
I wanted a treadmill for health reasons and did all my research and read a lot of reviews and, for a number of reasons, opted for this model. It’s always daunting spending a lot of money with an online retailer for a product you’ve never seen or ‘handled’ but I found JLL Fitness an absolute delight to buy from.
First of all, the treadmill was exactly as described (I had to look at their measurements as I had limited space and they were spot on, so it fitted where I had wanted it) but found some of the paint on the control module had rubbed against the packaging or during the manufacturing, which had left a few minor indentations and the paint wasn’t uniform. A minor thing which didn’t stop it from working, but it was slightly unsightly and, for the money I was spending, I wanted ‘perfection’! I took some photo’s and immediately contacted the seller and they replied that same day and organised a replacement part to be sent out.
I was still able to use the treadmill and JLL Fitness kept me updated with the progress of my replacement part which was sent by courier. I swapped the part and JLL Fitness arranged for the uplift of the return part but it meant I didn’t lose the use of my treadmill at all and the courier dropped off, and picked up, from my home and saved me a trip to their depot. Best of all – I didn’t get any annoying emails asking me for positive feedback!
Now, there’s little difference between this model and the S400. From what I’ve read, it’s mainly down to connectivity of your phone and the ability to utilise multimedia (i.e. stream music and connect to your mobile for apps monitoring your runs) – in my case, I didn’t require anything other than to be able to run, and to have control of the angle of the running slope and speed whilst running – others may find the S400 more beneficial to them but I didn’t need to spend the extra money!
It was fairly easy to set up straight out of the box and, taking things slowly, took me an hour before I was able to take me first run. The instructions have plenty of pictures, so you don’t have to worry about getting things wrong. The power cord is just over a metre long (probably 1.2 – 1.3m), so you have to make sure there’s a socket nearby but otherwise you can put it in most places around the house/garage.
The noise of the motor when it’s running isn’t bad (not as loud as the one’s I use in the gym) and you can still speak without shouting when you’re running – the noise of your trainers hitting the surface of the treadmill makes more noise! Which brings me onto my next ‘concern’. I was worried about the constant pounding of my feet on the treadmill, but the S300 (and S400) have cushioning springs which helps absorb the impact. It doesn’t negate it, so expect some vibration, but it does cut it down quite a lot.
The speed range isn’t as good as the professional ones in the gym, but it’s plenty fast enough for most home users, unless you’re training for the 100m sprint! The ability to change speed and the slope whilst you’re running is what sold this unit to me – in other treadmills I reviewed I had to stop the machine and manually adjust the angle – and you increase and decrease the speed using the buttons on the display console or the buttons on the ‘arms’ at the side of the treadmill.
The display’s not fantastic (i.e. it’s not like a TV where they use pixels – it’s the older style display) but has all the information most users will want/need laid out well. It also has a safety clip which you fix to yourself and, if you fall off or want to stop in an emergency, the clip pulls the attached cord and the machine immediately stops.
I’ve had this nearly 2 months now and it’s been used nearly every day and, so far, it’s been excellent. I deliberately waited until I had a chance to thoroughly test this before submitting a review in case anything ‘fell off’ or broke after a few uses but nothing has – so far!! It seems as sturdy now as it was when I first got it.
This unit has the ability to fold the running surface up, to save space but it only goes up 45 degrees or so, so you don’t actually get the ability to fold it right up (i.e. 90 degrees) which would have been better, so it doesn’t really help me much, other than to be able to get underneath the running surface to hoover/clean the floor.
The blurb has all the functions available (pre-set running patterns, etc.) but for me as an average runner with basic home needs I’ve found this treadmill to be great and the seller to be excellent.
I am a 59 year old who bought this item to assist in my fight against type 2 diabetes (brought on mainly by poor diet and obesity and being a couch potato.) I have waited for nearly 4 months to write my review being as it is a good 25 years since I have done any real physical exercise.
I was 15 1/2 stone when I bought this beauty and now I am 14st 3lbs at my last weigh in and my diabetes is well under control. The item is very heavy and easy to put together but you do have to carefully take the console apart to fit it properly. The controls are really easy to operate and the maintenance instructions are clear and concise.
I do not use the pre – programmes but started back in March doing some light walking and speed walking for the first week or so just to be on the safe side learning how to breathe properly and generally getting used to the machine and its speed and incline decline functions.
When I felt ready I then started some light jogging for 2000m gradually picking up the pace when I felt I was getting stronger and after the first week I began adding 5% incline and increased to 4000m and have increased the distance and varied my speed and inclines. I now do 10000m flat at a brisk pace (for me anyway) and then I vary the next time by including inclines to 15% that takes me longer to complete but I love the challenge.
This machine is really a very good and very reasonably priced machine and I love the fact that I can play my 60’s and 70’s music whilst I am training and I have not as yet found any faults with it. I constantly check the running belt as instructed and have not had to alter it yet but I do lubricate regularly as instructed. I would advise any new or experienced treadmill user to buy this as it has controls to suit everybody. I am not an experienced exerciser by any stretch of the imagination but this item has given me the confidence and will, to push myself a little more each time I use it and it has actually changed my life.
Well built quality running machine. Good size running belt which is not too noisy and really nicely sprung.
I bought this treadmill after doing a fair few hours research and finally took the plunge. I can say it was a plunge worth taking!
I literally had no idea about what I should really be looking for so I took time to read the comments left against this item. It was useful to understand about delivery, assembly and little niggles to watch out for.
Delivery was great – the tracker app showed me exactly what time I should expect the treadmill to arrive, which meant I could go to work without waiting in all day. I’d read from other users that the delivery team would not take the package upstairs (it’s pretty heavy – around 75kg) but I wanted it in my office room on the 1st floor. It may have helped that my girlfriend is 6 months pregnant and they could have took pity on me (lifting the treadmill by myself, not having a pregnant girlfriend ha).
So thankfully I didn’t break my back moving it by myself.
It is a very heavy product so would recommend getting 2 people to do the unpacking and moving. Assembly only takes one person. I found the instructions very basic. I’d been used to putting up a load of flat pack furniture from IKEA (see pregnant gf detail above) and whilst I’m not comparing a high tech treadmill to a 40 chest of low end Swedish drawers, I found the instructions for the treadmill quite hastily put together in comparison. Not extremely difficult to follow but I think they can be clearer.
The only issue I had with my treadmill when putting together was that the console unit could not be moved without getting a pair of pliers to loosen the connecting screws around the handle bar. This is not in the instructions and I’ve seen that point mentioned a few times on here – it should be so that you’re not left scratching your head/worried that you might snap the console in half when adjusting it as per the instructions.
After all that, I ran 5km on my first run and found it great. You get the feel of a real quality product (certainly the base unit) and the nice little touches such as the speakers made it feel more premium.
The buttons on the treadmill arm work nicely and the console and belt respond to them instantly – there is very little lag when turning the speed up which is great when you’re doing interval training.
Would definitely recommend – I had no idea how much I should be spending on a home treadmill but this one feels like it’s perfectly weighted, the quality is present and the price bracket is right.
I also bought this with a rubber mat to prevent my next door neighbor from attacking me.
Thanks and run for fun!

Arrived slightly ahead of schedule and the Arrow XL team were very helpful.
Putting it together was simple and straight forward with the instructions and tools, just added the “handlebars” and the control panel to the base unit.
The treadmill runs well and should help my partners and I efforts to get fit.
My only comment, and it is minor, is that if you are used to using a gyms treadmill, they are slightly wider and therefore placing your feet needs to be a little more accurate.
Overall I would recommend this as a good buy.
Really pleased with this. Delivery was quick but as they make clear it was to a downstairs room only and was a nightmare to get upstairs as it is really heavy. The assembly was quick and easy for 2 people. The treadmill is really quiet, even running on it doesn’t shake the house to pieces, it has a great preset speed for walking and running which is so useful when I am doing C25k. The belt is a little narrower than the ones I used in the gym but I have already got used to it.. Haven’t tried any of the programmes yet. Would certainly recommend.
The treadmill arrived on the day and time arranged. It of course required some assembly, but the instructions were perfectly clear.
This treadmill is great for the price, sturdy build, smooth track running, quiet and give many preprogrammed settings to get you started.
There are plenty speed options, and the changes to incline make this a great piece of equipment.
I was injured in an accent a year ago, and our plan is to aid in my mobility and physiotherapy. Allowing me to walk without the worry of being unable to get back home…
Who knows, one days I might even be able to run again.
So far so good, went up ok. Being used 3/4 times a week to walk on incline and run. Somehow I keep managing to catch the safety cord and turn it off suddenly which is a pain. But I think that’s just me.
Edit March 2021. Still using this at least once a fortnight. Please remember to buy some oil and apply every month or so. I didn’t at first and there was a dodgy burning smell until I did for a while! It also weighs a tonne, took 3 burly lads to relocate it to the garage.
Godsend in first lockdown.
Brilliant! We have waited several months since delivery so that we could give an accurate review. This machine is excellent – quality, robust, a good price and easy to assemble. Have used many running machines in Gymnasiums and this is on at least a par with them. We have 4 adults regularly using the machine for running and walking and have not had any issues at all. When delivered there was a small crack in the front casing – though it didn’t effect any working parts JLL sent a replacement as soon as I contacted them with no fuss and quick delivery.
I nearly made the mistake of not choosing this machine based on a few negative reviews but they must have been unlucky or messed the machine up themselves when assembling. We took our time to assemble, read the instructions a few times (new for me!!) and all was easy. Fortunately I read the positives and its proved to be an inspired decision – this is a great running machine!
I have had this treadmill now for 2 months, I have been wanting to write a review for a while but I have been cautious as some of the negative reviews are due to issues after 2-3 months but my experience is a very positive one.
If you are going to buy a treadmill you need to do lots of research, after all they are not cheap and a large item to have in your home, for me I hate buyers remorse when you realize you have made a costly mistake.
After reading all the Q&As on Amazon, looking at treadmill websites ( yes they exist ) and measuring the space I have to put it in I decided on this.
One golden nugget of information I read about, that I have found to be true is that you must get the largest size running deck your space will allow.
Originally I found a much smaller (and cheaper) machine that looked great but that last point that I read on a runners website stuck in my head and boy am I glad. The size of this deck is great for me, I am 6″2 and the deck is fine for my needs but any smaller and I would have been very frustrated I am sure.
When I was buying I wanted as much information to help me as I could get and I am sure you do too so let me tell you the kind of things I am sure you are interest in.
Firstly when It arrived it was delivered by courier, a massive burly bloke brought in inside my house, I wanted it upstairs and despite the fact that it would have taken 2 mins and been really easy for him and me, he point blank refused, now I know it says all over the site they wont take it upstairs, it would have been so helpful. Instead I had to wait a few days with it blocking up the hall as it is VERY heavy and way to much to do on your own. Eventually when the weekend came my wife and I took it upstairs, it was very difficult but we made it with serious injury. Assembly was very simple, the instructions are straight forward and it comes with all tools you need.
There are a variety of settings, the screen is very clear and the fact that you can play music via the integrated speakers is awesome, if you pop your tracks on a USB stick the controls on the treadmill let you skip tracks, sadly this is not the case from your mp3 player.
The display has all the information you want, it shows time ,distance, calories burned and (not that I use it) heart rate monitor. So far I am not fit enough to use the incline as I am still getting use to distance but being able to do that automatically is a great feature.
Apart from size of running deck and comprehensive display (both of which this has) the other vital thing to think about is speed, I am a big guy, a bit tubby but that`s the point of having it. I run at a good pace but near the end I like to sprint and it has the speed to allow this and I would be surprised if anybody would need to go faster than this will allow. Maybe I could run faster than the top speed but only over 10m I doubt anybody would want to sprint flat out for any distance, as I said I have done my research and this has an above average top speed.
I have to say this treadmill has a real feel of quality, it lowers itself smoothly with hydraulics and is very sturdy when down and being used.It has a big clear display, gives me a great workout and folds away nicely. Most people on Amazon have had good experiences like me as with any mass produced item be that a PC or Car or treadmill from time to time there will be faults and I am fortunate that I have not had one so all I can say is I am so please that I bought this, now its up to me to use it as my wife said if I use it to hang clothes on she is selling it! This could be the best thing I have ever bought.
I delayed writing a review to see if it worked okay over a period of time as other comments suggested otherwise. Mine was a better experience that some other purchasers.
I consider this to be a very good buy and it was relatively easy to assemble, but would not be so for someone who is small framed because of the weight of some parts. However mine was partially assembled (, the console did not need any assembly just putting onto the treadmill).
Instructions quite straightforward but not ideally clearly written.
I use the treadmill every day to do a twenty minute walk to keep mobile and it is excellent for that. The programming is good as you can input a walk that starts of slowly, then you can change the settings ten times to give you a customized walk. This saves pressing the speed and incline buttons as it automatically does this from the programming.
The only negative comment is the difficulty in getting the silicone lubricant under the belt but that’s all.
I would say a very well made product and in view of the price good value.
I’m 6’1 and about 12.5 stone. This treadmill does the job. It wobbles a bit but not much. There is space for me to run and it easily goes at a pace that is fast enough for my requirements. A good buy.
I paid the extra express delivery on this item at a cost of 40, however this was pointless.
The window for delivery was across a 5 day period, and there was no tracking information available. I contacted the seller to ask for at least a particular day (so someone could be around) and I was responded to within 24hrs stating a particular day. Unfortunately the item arrived a day early however I was lucky enough to catch the delivery drivers call (which was made 15mins before arrival) and persuade them to return to my house following one unsuccessful attempt at delivery. One delivery driver arrived – despite the item stating two man delivery – and the box containing the item had burst with wood poking through the cardboard. The delivery driver stated he thought their fork lift drivers were bad but JLL’s were responsible for what I was presented with. I was then advised “This is bloody heavy mate” before having to help the delivery man lift this into my house. Unfortunately the delivery man had just been to a farm and pointed out I “probably didn’t want him coming through the house in his manure covered boots” meaning I was then left myself to push this box through my house. Glad I paid the 40!!!!!!! I will be pursuing my delivery money back for this pantomime, particularly as I injured my arm in the process.
Onto the item…..I was delighted to learn this piece of wood protracting from my box was not part of the set up. I can only assume it’s purpose was to act as support, which it did having been split on route. The treadmill itself is a nice bit of kit. The head unit was a little scraped and worn – making me wonder if this has been used before – but the display is bright and excellent. The actual running surface is a good size and i’m looking forward to see how this holds up through daily use. The instructions are double dutch and it did take about an hour to guess what should be happening, however in hindsight this was fairly simple to set up. I did find the main connection from the head unit to the treadmill a little loose and this did take a few attempts to connect correctly before the treadmill would actually work.
All in all I am fairly pleased with the item, but it’s delivery really leaves a lot to be desired.
It was fairly easy to put together – definitely a two person job. I’m from the US and ours died after we arrived here and needed a new treadmill (due to weather). Looked at repairing the one we had and it was just too costly to repair. I checked a number of places and looked at what each had to offer. This treadmill offered more than some more expensive machines. I love that it is quiet and you watch TV without bothering my husband.
Perfect for me. Delivery came early. Delivery men were curteous and friendly. Treadmill is great. Doesn’t take too much space but does a good job. Am beginning to see changes in my body. Best item I have purchased this year.
Great treadmill so far. Had it a few months and no major issues. Some of the programmes don’t do what they are meant to do but I don’t use em so doesnt bother me so much.
I don’t think the distance is getting correctly measured. I’ve been through 2 Army fitness tests and both times got my run at 10.50 for 2.4km. The treadmill however puts me at 14 minutes running at the same pace. If anything, I’m running a little slower on the Army tests.
I cant add much to what has already been said, but I do agree that this product is worth 400, but I certainly wouldn’t pay more than that in todays market and with the alternatives out there.
We have had it a few months now and it has worked flawlessly throughout. Delivered by a two man team, it is down to you to assemble. The running board and the motor are already assembled, so its just a case of attaching the arms and console. The latter does feel remarkably cheap but the rest is good quality.
It has a sound input socket (3.5mm jack plug) so you can plug in your phone or tablet and listen to music or watch programmes on your tablet etc with the sound coming out of the integrated speakers.
The speed goes up to 16km an hour at a max incline of 20%.
It does have a magnetic trip switch which you peg onto your clothing whilst walking/running. In the event of an incident, the trip switch instantly stops the treadmill and prevents any injury. Just be aware that the peg that attaches to your clothing is so weak that it broke the first time we clipped it on. Nothing else has broken since then though!
A good product for the price.
Excellent product, very sturdy and heavy! Comes with a good manual explaining all the menu settings all in all if you have the space get it!
Most people write a review as soon as they open the box, or at best, a couple days later. I’ve had this treadmill now for nearly 3 years and want to share my feedback.
For context: I run 10k on the treadmill every day, at 13.5 kmph ie close to top speed. I can therefore say that I’ve put the machine through some tough testing.
Headline summary: the treadmill is operationally still as good as new! I.e. the motor functions perfectly, no increase in noise or loss of power. The frame is as sturdy as ever, no creaking. The running track is as tight as new, with no fraying on the edges. The monitor and controls all in good order.
However, you DO need to take care of the machine:
1) the running board sheds a lot of dust. It is very easy to vacuum up from the edges.
2) every 3-4 months, take off the front engine cover – there will be A LOT of dust around the motor. Again, vacuum this up.
3) get some silicone lubricant (NOT WD40!!) and lubricate under the track every month.
These simple steps, and you have genuinely a machine for life. I can’t see mine packing in any time soon. I only hope that once it does, the model will still be on sale to get another one.
My only criticism is for JLL aftercare: not that I needed much, but one time I thought the monitor had stopped working (it didn’t in the end), and I’m afraid that JLL were not very helpful in trying to resolve. However, given the quality of the machine, this is my least criticism..
This machine will definitely suit a serious runner as well as those looking for gentle exercise.
Four stars taking into account the price, nice solid piece of kit but not what you would expect for the RRP of around a thousand pounds.
Been using it for about a month and happy with it. It feels solid even at top speed and the incline is smooth.
There are buttons for speed on the right handle which are easily accessible when running.
It is very heavy as you might expect, it has wheels but is still a bit awkward to move.
Worth being aware that the rubber feet leave marks if you try to move it, so be careful when unpacking.
Some of the English translation is amusing such as the warning sticker “Start treadmill standing on the belt is strictly prohibited!”. But apart from that the instructions were fine.
It is not ideal if you want one that will fold away flat when not in use, but i guess those ones would not support regular use, speed and incline as this one does.
If you can forgive the pathetic translation of user guide, which amongst other things fails to tell you to take a connecting strap off before using the incline (whereupon machine lifts its middle legs off floor trying to achieve the incline and probably does considerable damage), then this is a reasonable piece of kit. Other main problem was assembly due to poorly jigged fixing points, making it very difficult to assemble – in fact I ended up enlarging 2 holes in the frame to make it possible. Seems a little noisy, but I have no other machine to compare to. mp3 playback is quite crude, not able to see USB stick content. Longer length of walking platform a good point, I think shorter ones would be easy to fall off!
Going to give this product 5 stars for these reasons,
Delivery was quite quick to guys arrived at my house at 8:45 at night
we did not know it was coming, which was a bit frustrating until he
told me the phone number that I gave Amazon, it was the wrong number
me bad, totally my fault.
From taking it out of the packaging to using it was only 20 minutes,
mind you I did not read the instructions, there was know need it was
simple to put together and you get the necessary tools to do it, which was
a Allen key and screw driver.
So far it looks a good quality product with lots of features, I like the way
when stored you push on a piston that keeps the running track elevated to
save space it comes down nice and slowly automatically,
The screen is nice and big and bright, the running track is smooth.
so far I would say from start to finish this product rocks for the price
and features.
