Comes fully assembled. Superb quality plenty of storage capacity. No need for bin bags for the recycling- just remove the inner plastic container- empty then replace. Also matches my new kitchen perfectly. Highly recommended.
Great quality, does exactly what you need it to do. Easy to clean and easy to empty the bins
Love the 2 sections and looks great.
Small downside is the catch on the lid, it’s not the best and often pops up..
After trying a number of different makes, this bin is by far the best. Arrived un damaged. And hasn’t broken within the first few weeks.
It’s quite pricey for a bin but it is of good quality, blends nicely in the kitchen and is very practical to use with good space too.
Good sturdy bin with sufficient capacity without taking over the whole kitchen. It is expensive but I’m hoping it’ll last a long time. It says 10 year warranty so I’m guessing that means if anything breaks it will be replaced
Very neat and tidy. The lower recycle bin easily slides in and out and the internal bins are very easy to remove in order to clean. Best bin I’ve ever purchased.
A little on the expensive side but the best on the market for practicality. I was fed up with all the extra space taken in my kitchen with recycling. Now it’s a breeze and a sleek look too.
I bought my bin from John Lewis just in case it developed the issues with the lid that others have mentioned. Part of me can’t believe I spent so much on a bin, but I can tell you, having ME, this bin has really made a difference to me.
– I no longer have to bend over and lift and hold the lids of my two separate bins, I can stand up straight while emptying food in. The lid stays up on its own. That’s priceless for me. I just close the lid when I’m done.
– The shape of the bin makes a real difference. My other bin was rectangular. recycling wouldn’t fit in and had to be squashed or ripped up. Everything fits in this bin.
– With the filter, no more stink because I can’t change the bin often, it’s been full for a week and no bad smells.
– so far no problems with the lid, I do wonder whether having kids at home and people not being careful with the bin can cause problems. For the price of this, I treat it like a queen and I’m very gentle when opening and closing. I actually love this bin so much, I wish I’d bought it sooner.
– the only issue is that it doesn’t really feel very robust. I pull out the bottom recycling unit and the whole bin moves. It’s not very heavy.
– also, the food waste additional container is supposed to sit in the top of the bin, inside the bin bag. This doesn’t make any sense to me as it would get filthy surrounded by food. I take mine out and don’t use it.
It’s beautiful, opens really easily and doesn’t stink. What else can you want?
The mechanism to open the top bin has stopped working after just 8 months. No place on the Amazon site to discuss an exchange, and my return policy ran out on June 21?? Shocking really. Will have to get in touch with Joseph Joseph directly. Looking at the reviews the lid mechanism issue is wide spread.
only issue with the production the food waiste is to small! it yoi use the regular recycling bags you will find the food waiste bin is full but whe you take the bag out its less than half full so yoy are throwing away a lot more bags
I loved this bin. I love the 2 compartments. I love the design and for a year I was very pleased with this purchase.
However at just over a year the lid broke and due to purchasing on Amazon I only received 1 year warranty and couldn’t purchase a replacement lid with this bin.
Very expensive to have only lasted a year.
Wouldn’t repurchase.
Yes, it is not cheap, but it worth it! Really helps to keep sorting the rubbish and keep the kitchen tide in a same moment. It saves place and very comfortable to use.
This is a sturdy recycling bin with a great design that will fit into your kitchen without demanding too much attention. The bottom unit could probably do with some runners, rather than just free-wheeling, but I imagine that would make the whole thing much more bulky. The inserts are attractive, sturdy and easily cleaned. The waste food caddy is ok – I would have preferred it to have an attached lid personally. It is nice that you get a few bags included – this means that you don’t have to buy them before realising that you don’t really need them. I only use the biodegradable ones in the caddy – my cardboard and plastics are roaming free in the spacious units. No bags needed, thank you very much. The soft open lid function appears to be well made and has so far stood up to my 10-year-old’s attempts to break it. Overall – great quality, looks super, and does its job without fuss.
It doesn’t take too much space. The capacity is good for recycling bottles and containers. Easy to clean. I am very happy with this purchase.
Great product from Joseph Joseph. Well worth the money. So easy to use and clean. Very practical piece.
I had researched recycle bins quite extensively following the completion of my new kitchen. I knew I didn’t want piles of recycling hanging around but didn’t have tons of spare space and I really wanted a matte white bin. This ticked all the boxes … except it was 200 which I thought (and still think) is a ludicrous sum of money for a box that holds rubbish. It sat in my “Save for Later” section until the Black Friday sales arrived and it popped up at 125. Still a ridiculous amount of money, but a big enough saving for me to decide to go for it. It arrived the next day in a massive box but once lifted out and packaging removed it sits beautifully in my kitchen without being obtrusive or taking up a lot of space. The top part holds plenty of waste for 3 adults. Not least because I recycle far more of my plastics and cardboard that I used to thanks to the slide out bottom section (I pop a bin bag in one half for bottles/plastics and leave the other half empty for cardboard). I’m not currently using the triangular food recycling part as I don’t have a compost bin yet (Spring project) and our council doesn’t collect food waste separately. I don’t use the Joseph Joseph bin liners as they are also ludicrously expensive, but my trusty old 50l Tesco drawstring bags fit just fine (although a little longer than needed) and don’t show at all. I just use any old bag for the bottom.
It’s a little sad to say I’m thrilled with my new bin, but I am! I’ve had positive comments on how nice it is, so it’s clearly not just me! I still don’t think I’d feel happy paying full price for it and the amount I paid is pretty much the very top of what I’d be prepared to fork out, but it’s a well designed, well made, practical and attractive bin so I’m happy.
Great bin, deals with all my rubbish in one space.
I guess I didn’t read the description properly as I expected the bin to be plastic, however is a very decently weighted metal which gives it a nice quality feel and sturdiness. I like the colour and size, perhaps slightly in the taller side to what im used to but overall very happy
To be honest, I wasn’t sure on spending that amount of money in a bin, but the storage is huge and you have an ALL IN ONE bin, finally I feel I can recycle properly.
Does what it’s supposed to although there are others on the market that look the same and do the same job for less money
I’m a confessed label snob lol
There is nothing not to like. Storage is great practical and it’s so easy to keep clean. Love i
Excellent bin, wish I had bought it 2 bins ago! Great recycling facility. I buy normal much cheaper liners which work just as well.
Nothing to say apart from this is a great bin.
I spent ages debating getting this bin. Over 150 is crazy but here we are!
Quality seems to be there . I went for the graphite, which is darker than it looks.
The bin is 2x 30L. I’ve been using two large kitchen bins, so coming from them this bin looks quite small.
Reason I went for this new bin is I’ve moved and don’t have the room for 2x 60L bins.
There seems to be lots of reviews about the lid breaking, so only time will tell.
I managed to use one of the bin bags I had laying about, so I think I will get some more as the Joseph ones are almost 9!
150 for a bin!!!!!
Update after using it for 2 weeks:
I can use any bag I like. I have council green bags and Asda black bags. They are bigger but just folder over the edges. No need to pay for the custom fit ones.
I am emptying the bins more as they are smaller than the 60L one’s I had before, but I am very happy with the purchase .
I’m also using the included food caddy which I did not think I would.
Space was limited for me, so needed a separation bin that wasn’t side by side. This one so far ticks all the boxes fir a 1-2 person household. I doubt it would be big enough capacity for a large family
I’ve had many bins but always come back to this make and model it looks smart and is so perfectly made
