I have only used it once so have given 4stars. Never having owned a mixer before, this machine looks premium and solidly made. And the motor guarantee is 10years from Kenwood.
The parts are heavy duty even the attachments.
I’ve made bread using Ikg of flour (spelt, rye and oat flour , yoghurt, ground wild rice, molasses, honey, water, yeast )to give it a workout. I thought I’d have to keep stopping the machine to scrape the sides of the bowl as that what it looked like initially then decided to see what would happen if i didn’t- It just kept going until eventually until every last bit of the dough was gathered together into a ball.
The dough can be left in the bowl to prove.
Washing was easy.
I’ve not tried the other attachments or functions.
This is what I’ve been looking for. Never try this brand cause I’ve always been using kitchen aid. This is another level. It comes with two stainless bowl which it can stack together to save space. The best thing is it has got scales build in. I’m loving i
This was a cracking deal – less than half RRP. This this is big enough for any home baking requirements. It comes with three attachments (dough hook, whisk and the ‘K’ mixer paddle) and it supports extras (which I haven’t yet purchased). The built-in scales and timer function are really useful – I thought they would be kind of gimmicky, but they are in fact really useful. You can just add ingredients straight to the bowl without having to get scales out and use another container to weigh them. Overall really happy with this.
I don’t normally write reviews but felt needed to about this ,I had a kitchen Aid but needed something with bigger mixing bowl ,I am beyond impressed with this mixer ,it not only mixes ingredients allot better ,the accessories or fantastic quality ,built in scales are a dream to use saves on more washing up ,it’s amazing and wished brought one sooner ,only tiny thing is it’s moves when mixing sometimes (wobbles) but it’s only minor definitely worth living with for how good mixer is ,I am a bakery chef and it’s just amazing to work with ,worth the money 100% ,7 litre bowl is just so easy to work with
This is a great quality rock solid stand mixer that works wonderfully. It really take a lot of the effort out of baking. The nesting bowls are great for storage and the built in scale is really handy. The splash guard ensures I don’t cover everything in my kitchen in icing sugar, trust me, that’s not fun. It’s easy to clean & use, and I’m looking forward to what other creations I can make using this. Easily one of my favourite kitchen appliances.
This is not my first Kenwood Chef, I learned how to bake as a child using one and that’s more decades ago than I care to mention – and that particular ageing Kenwood Chef is still in a cupboard somewhere and it still works. This Titanium Chef Baker XL updates the machine but is still very familiar to anyone who’s used one before and for the most part they’ve kept the good stuff and improved the not-so-good. The basic design remains the same and so you get a powerful and capacious mixer with a good range of accessories and therefore tasks it can complete. Our old Chef was made from cast metal, steel I think, and was very solidly constructed and very heavy. This one seems to be cast aluminium and therefore still feels solidly made but it’s much lighter, the only negative aspect is that much of the weight, presumably the motor and gears, is in the top section and so it feels top-heavy especially when you raise the arm to its full height. You get two bowls and they store one inside the other so you don’t need to find cupboard space and it’s really handy having the choice. The smaller one isn’t that much smaller but it’s handy for smaller quantities and tasks, like creaming butter and sugar together more quickly without chasing butter chunks around the bowl for minutes on end. The bigger one has a chunky handle and is great for pouring out your finished mix into baking tins with the provided spatula in your other hand to scrape out every last piece.
You also get a good compliment of attachments including the traditional ‘K’ beater, balloon whisk and dough hook and they’re all huge (compared to standard old-school Chef tools) and very sturdy. There’s also a Flexi Creaming Beater which is a specially shaped beater with a groove along the working edges that holds a flexible silicone blade-edge that scrapes the sides of the bowl as it works making sure none of those pesky butter chunks escape – and it really works! The only issue is that it’s so good at scraping the inner surface of the bowls it makes the whole machine rock back and forth and I discovered mine was walking across the worktop toward the edge. It’s not in a great hurry to dive off onto the floor but it’s worth ensuring you only use the Flexi Creaming Beater while you’re there to watch it.
The motor feels very powerful but hardly seems to strain under effort, it just keeps mixing, beating and creaming, and you’ve got decent control over the speeds using the rotary control. I’m assuming the speed control is now digitised because it’s not quite as direct a control as it used to be, the motor slides up or down the speeds rather than revving into action. You get the additional power points on the top and front of the Chef to attach extra tools and accessories and I discovered the top one accepts the liquidiser jug we already have from an old (maybe 80’s model) of Kenwood Chef, so it seems they’ve kept the same fitting. The covers on the power access points are held in place with magnets and just lift off which is a nice innovation, they used to have awkward latches, but you’ll want to keep little fingers well away from them of course. The whole top plate on the mixer is also removeable and replaceable with one of a range of colour options, so you can colour-coordinate your mixer to your kitchen dcor if you wish. You also get a splash guard which pushes onto the underside of the lift-able arm and covers the bowl, except for a lift-up flap, keeping splashes inside. It seems a bit flimsy but it’s very effective in use and should last as long as you take care of it.
The other standout feature is the built-in scales which lets you add ingredients straight to the bowl without having to weigh them out first. It works and it’s quite sensitive but being built into a moving and articulated mixer means they’re a bit prone to inaccuracy, they’re essentially weighing the whole machine and not just the bowl. So for example the scale is sensitive enough to detect the change in weight as the mixer is mixing and its weight is shifting back and forth. If you’re trying to add an ingredient while it’s mixing, for example folding flour into a batter mix, then it’s probably still advisable to weigh it out beforehand. The scale’s of most use when you’re adding together the preliminary ingredients or when you’ve paused the machine and can zero the scale to then add measured secondary ingredients.
Overall it’s still a fantastic machine for a home baker and feels like it could last for years and probably decades with some care. I know bakers often divide between the Kenwood Chef users and the KitchenAid users and although I like the retro-chic stylings of KitchenAid mixers they never seem as robust or practical as Kenwood Chefs do – so I’m staying on the Kenwood side of that fence!
My first memories of baking are using my mum’s Kenwood – this is the space age and whizzy version and is now being used to bake with my family – it’s a joy. Having an integrated scales with a clear display is surprisingly useful, and every single part screams quality. The fittings and whisks are pure quality and there’s one for every task. You get two bowls which fit together to store – note you will have to remove the smaller one and fit to the base by its self to use. The large one gives you huge capacity – I love the fact that the splash guard even has a little lid on the spout.
I’m not yet using this to full potential as I don’t yet have any of the add on attachments – these could fit on the top and the front and greatly increase the potential of this machine. As it is I use it a lot for cakes, dough and meringue and it handles everything I can throw at it with ease. Little things like the dial lighting up and just the sheer quality of everything make using it just great. The motor is quiet. There’s no getting away from the fact that it’s a big item – measure carefully as you will need a big cupboard – mine stays out ready for use just as my mum’s did!
I’m sure this will last for years. It’s an investment for sure but if you are a serious baker it’s a professional tool for the job. Just a top notch item; I recommend it highly.
I have always wanted a KA mixer but also found them too expensive so being able to order this Kenwood mixer was an amazing opportunity.
The mixer is so sleek and modern looking, with great different mixing bowls, whisk and beating attachments.
It is easy enough to clean, the main body obviously need a wipe with a cloth and everything else can go in dishwasher which is great.
Have used it to make cupcakes with the kids and our own bread. The different speed settings are easy to control using the knob on side of mixer. The digital scales are also helpful in measuring out ingredients. the larger size of this mixer and bowl allows you to make larger quantities and perfect for special occasions, would not be suitable for professional use for obvious reasons of capacity but could still be used to mix icing or make meringues

First of all Capacity of this mixer is more than enough. The bowl is huge,
nearly 7-litre bowl that has one practical handle for simple loading and arrives with a second 5-litre bowl nested inside.
When it comes to this machine versatility it comes with 25 accessories. Which allows you to do everything from blend to grate. Connecting to the high or slow speed hub, they’ll blend, slice, spiralize, shred, grate, slow juice. Just amazing how much you can do with it.
The motor runs smoothly and not too loud. Also the motor digitally controlled so it allows you to adjusts power to whatever you’re making so it only use the power you need.
The lift head is very well made so it lifts up with not effort. Simply press the head realise button.
Of course don’t forget the build in weigher. I like it so much because It saves time as it allows you to weight ingredients directly into the bowl as you go.
Overall this amazing all you need kitchen mixer. Very powerful and versatile.

This is a great mixer. It’s large and very sturdy. There is a built-in scale which is very convenient. The large bowl can make huge amounts! The tools are all heavy duty. The creamer and dough hook are brilliant. The whisk is superb. There are other attachments available if you want to buy them separately. I’ll probably buy the blender which sits neatly on the top. I’ve done lots more baking than usual since having this machine it makes such light work of everything. It’s a serious machine for a serious baker.
This is a lovely looking mixer comes with a K whisk A kneeling hook a whisk a 5 L stainless steel bowl and a 7 L stainless steel bowl and is 1200W.it has built in weighing scales and a timer if you need to mix for any length of time also included is a splash cover it’s not too loud very easy to use and you can put everything in the dishwasher but so far I have hand washed everything because it’s so easy to clean on the description it says the mixer is 1400 W but it marked 1200 W on the actual mixer. I have used the mixer to make quite a few different things and I just love using it very pleased with this mixer and would recommend it in fact I think I’m in love with it.

I was lucky enough to recently review a mixer, having never had one before and loved it but when I saw this from Kenwood, I knew it would blow it out of the water and that it did!
This Titanium Chef Baker XL is AMAZING and as Mum to a young toddler trying to introduce healthy, home made food at home, this will help me no end and is exactly what I needed to not only save time but save space too. It is fairly heavy but not so much it can’t be easily moved around if needed – just care will be needed!
It is fab quality and comes with nesting duobowls, easyweigh scales that measures in pounds and grams and accessories including a K Whisk, Kneading Hook, creamer and a balloon whisk. It’s perfect to get started with and has a splash-guard so no loose ingredients flirting off everywhere when you are mixing! The best thing about this mixer is that you can currently get another 25 optional accessories that can help you blend, slice, spiralise, grate, juice among other things. I cant wait to add more to my collection – though I’ll have to be mindful on my kitchen space!
It runs really nicely and doesn’t seem to vibrate or make a high pitched whine which my other one did. It cleans really easily and the accessories can be placed in the dishwasher if you have one, but to be honest, they cleaned so easily by hand I would stick to hand washing. Easy to use, even for a novice like me, simply click in the tool you are using and turn the dial up for more power and speed!
Overall, I’m SO impressed and have fallen for my Chef Baker XL, it helped me make some amazing bread at Christmas and I can’t wait to get more adventurous as I decide which accessories I buy in the future!

It is sturdy and solid, solidly on the counter, doesn’t vibrate, doesn’t whine, processes reliably at whatever speed we dial in. Powerful motor, with inbuilt scales that measure in both pounds and grams, all of the attachments can be popped in the dishwasher.
I love this machine, it kneaded with ease our dough, whisked eggs and sugar, just perfect for all recipes. I had doubts about how this is going to work with the bigger bowl, but had no issues at all.
As for everyday Baker having good tools is important, so I highly recommend, there is no product like it.

As a previous owner of the Kenwood KM010 of which I was very happy and had many and various attachments, I rang Kenwood before purchasing this machine to find out if my attachments would fit. Yes I was told with an adapter, don’t make the same mistake as me, any attachments that currently fit to your fast speed outlet do not fit this Baker XL an adapter for the fast speed outlet does not exist so the very expensive attachments like the pro slicer grater can’t be used on this model, or the chopping Mill. I was told you need a larger attachment!!!! Had to tell Kenwood no I did not, they were showing that part on their attachment site on a chef XL. Conclusion if you need to use your previous attachments. Don’t go there. You may as well buy a kmix, the only gain is scales and an extra bowl on an expensive machine. After further conversations with Kenwood and after I have returned this machine, they tell me these attachments will fit and they are going to send me a video, if this happens and this is correct and they fit the XL Baker as that is the issue, I will update again.

I had never used a Kenwood mixer before and honestly didn’t really see the point. This was until my mum treated herself to one in order to make my wedding cakes. I loved it so much that my husband and I got one as a wedding present afterwards. Once you’ve used it, you can never go back!
The in-built scales and two mixing bowls save so much faff. The splash cover means I can mix icing sugar without it covering every item in the kitchen with a layer of white dust and you can add liquid ingredients without stopping the mixer. All the attachments are very effective. My favourite is the creaming tool – it scrapes the edges down so well and is amazing for beating butter. I’ve used the mixer mostly for making cake batter, but also used the hook to make pizza dough.
The mixer is very heavy and quite large. It’s currently taking up an entire cupboard by itself and I have to take care lifting it out. I also wish it had the light and the warming feature that the fancier models have, but I couldn’t justify the extra cost. It’s an expensive item, but it is so versatile and meant to be very long lasting. If you bake regularly, it will change your life!

The description is accurate and the device comes with more gadgets than earlier models .Difficult to fault for domestic use .
