my old k4 went bust so i ordered the new k4 compact . it arrived today so i set it up and tried it out with all my old k4 accessories worked great .i have read all the complaints about the black pressure hose storage the simple fix is to get a bungee elasticated cord place it around the middle of the machine and hook it together then making sure it is the right length .it should be tight then wind the hose up so it is in a circle then put the bungee away from the front of the body and force the hose in side the bungee cord and it will stay securely also you can tuck the power cord in there to and will make everything secure hopes this helps.
This is a great machine for cleaning drives, patios, cars etc. Bought this to replace our old one which was left in the shed over winter period and it ruined it, only because we forgot to pump out the water before storing it. The water obviously froze and split the tank and seals. Remember to drain the machine completely if you leave it outside or in a shed over the winter period.
Works well when working but I had to return it for repairs after a few uses. Seems to be very fragile. Hope it lasts longer this time. Overall not a bad purchase
This my third Karcher pressure washer and I’ve never been disappointed always improving their products and this one is no exception in my opinion the best pressure washer on the market at an affordable price which offers the service required definitely recommend this produc
Quality product, works well, the only grouch would be the hose from machine to spray gun, I know it has to be armoured hose but this feels like a plastic material and is impossible to straighten, afraid have docked a point for that. The biggest bonus is it is not made in china.
Great quality, nice and compact easy to use for washing the car, its still quite heavy but is compact so easy to move around and not bulky
I had a Karcher 330MH for about 25 years and when this finally gave up the ghost I bought a Karcher K4.
A good effective machine but with a few annoying minor design defects:
a) The water inlet is VERY exposed and liable to damage – on the 330MH it was shielded inside the machine case, a far superior design feature.
b) Pictures show the hose wrapped around the front of the casing. You can’t actually do this since there is a lip at the top of the casing but none at the bottom.
c) there is no lock to keep the trigger on. There IS a lock to keep the trigger OFF – who needs that??
These defects aside, it’s basically a good efficient machine, easy to use, easy to carry and easy to store and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another if needed.
The only thing that lets this down is the lack of onboard storage for the hose and power cable. The hose does not sit neatly like it does in the picture! The washing capability as always with Karcher is second to none
Once connected its up to the operator how forceful the water jet that is needed. This machine is versatile and can produce power at various levels.

I knew this in advance but as per most of the reviews here. The photo by the seller shows the cable wrapped round the lip but in reality this is impossible to do. Makes no difference to the quality or power of the jet wash, hence I still purchased the produc
The Karcher Name once again stands up. This machine appears to be a robust and reliable operator. Solid construction, does mean that it is slightly heavier than my previous model, but hopefully should be even longer lasting.
2 small gripes, firstly no clip to hold in the hose in storage, and the position of the water inlet.
But that said, a solid performance

It is surprisingly small but as other reviews mentioned the hose does curl up and difficult to mantle as shown on the Amazon pictures.

This was to replace an older version that was well used and started leaking. After doing a bit of research I came to the conclusion that this would do the job and I didn’t need to pay more for all the bells and whistles!

I had looked through the different models of karchers and went for this one based on the reviews.
Pros – It’s easy to set up. Easy to use. Tackles dirt pretty well on the highest setting. Makes a good job of cleaning the car.
Cons – I wanted something that would tackle weeds. This will get rid of smaller weeds but doesn’t touch thicker ones. Gives them a good wash though. Based on this alone I wish I’d gone for one of the bigger models.
Sometimes if you put it to the higher pressure setting too fast it will start going a bit weird, as if it’s not getting enough suction – if this happens just back it off slightly and increase the pressure slowly.
The length of hose is pretty short. I invested in a 20m hose reel to attach between the outside tap and pressure washer.
Been using it plenty and it runs for ages no problem.
Love it loads more power than the k2 the Lance pipe is ok but I use a 10m one of eBay 27 other than that it’s fantastic be careful the spinner is very powerful will damage the clear coat on any car 10/10

It was a little heavy for a small woman and the lead is too stiff so awkward. Cleans brilliantly (old brick terraces) and I like the gentleness of some of the settings and am sure with the power nozzle it will be brilliant on the concrete terrace. Thank you.
Excellent product did exactly what it says on the box very pleased.
Previously had a 12 year old K2 used mainly for cleaning patio which is fake stone paving. It is better than the K2, much quicker to finish the job (although is was rushing) and cleaned well just using the standard spray not the rotating one.
Its heavier than it looks because its a big pressure washer in small casing but still easy enough to lug about. I’m happy.
As mentioned by other users the hose will not coil around the machine as pictured but can be coiled around the handle. Another issue is the twist lock lances will not come apart. I fixed mine by using a twist drill to open out the hole were they join. Make sure you use a bit that’s only a fraction bigger than the existing hole!
I liked the product just one thing i would change and that is the hose from the washer to the nozzle. It is the plastic hose always twisting up not good to get back into decent storage a rubber hose would make it perfect.
Works well and has a good range of spray fierceness. We use it to remove weed and slime from our boat before anti-fouling, clean mud off bikes etc and even clean salt and dust off our windows on its softest setting so pretty versatile. The only criticism is that the storage of the cable and hose could be improved.
It a good power washer only used for three hours so far.
It’s just as good as the standard k4 but far easier to manoeuvre.
However the picture of the pressure hose wrapped around the front is possibly a bit misleading. No that is wrong it’s a fantasy image.
That is my only gripe.
It was bought as a present for my husband, he has used it for cleaning deck boards, paths,still waiting for my car to be washed!
I purchased this K4 Karcher Power Washer on Amazon after my old washer had given up. I have used the washer and I find it to be an excellent piece of kit. I use it for the yard an patio area, very good power for the cleaning. I would recommend this product.
Very impressed. Purchased as an upgrade from a K2. Perfect power for car washing. As mentioned in other reviews, slight downfall is hose and cable storage (don’t expect to wrap around as shown on the pictures!). Perfect size to store in a garage or shed. Recommended.
I moved from a K2 to the K4. Good power and enjoy washing my motor. Only issues are manoeuvring is not that easy so I lift it most times. Also there is no cable tidy for the power socket. So I just wrap it around the washer. Can be annoying. Otherwise a good pressure washe

Bought this to replace old leaking model. Really cleans well, block patio cleaned of weeds in less than 20 minutes. We also use it to clean the pipes of our fish pond of algae, makes quick work of it.

Yep, this rips. Wayyyyyy better than my old Karcher (which was actually pretty good too but now very old). Turned a 2 hour job into 30 min.

Excellent compact pressure watcher – will probably need an extension lead for most outdoor work.
Previous jet washer (different make) was good but did not last very long – only used max 10 times before problems started.
Very pleased with new Karcher (K2) – bought at a fairly good price and so far only used once. However very pleased with results on a very dirty back garden – brought up the slabs much better than previous washer. So Far so good
With occasional tools like pressure washers, lawnmowers etc I tend to overspec the tool and get the one that will do everything…… they tend to be overly large and then I need to store them. I already have the K4 full home pressure washer and this is that little bit smaller but does everything I need just as well. Personally I would get this rather than the larger version in future and save my money.
Been very good so far , now had for three months. Easy to set up and use . Patio cleaning nozzle works well.

Easy to use if a little heavier than my old one but it does the job well!
Did the job as described, pleased though only used twice so far. Only problem is fighting the high pressure hose that is wound tightly for transit. Just store the unit with the hose loose or straight if you can. Hooks on the unit to wind the cable would be nice.
The car park was covered with moss and the karcher pressure washer cleaned it. Ideal for car washing, cleaning alloy wheels. We have no water faucet outside; therefore we sourced a 20 l water conatiner. If you want to use the pressure washer with a water container, you will need a karcher suction hose. We have one and it works amazing!
Had an older model so knew the product passed that one on to our son still in perfect working order just needed a lighter model

The only negative, is that the photos show the hose stored around the front of the machine, but in fact it doesn’t stay in place there, there is no lip on the bottom of the storage to hold the hose, it just keeps coming off.
Had the k2 but this is much more powerful and better build. The hose can be wrapped around the hand as can the electrical cable. Heavy but that proves it is well built.
This neat machine is more than capable of tackling very dirty paving. It comes with two lances and a generous 6m hose that are quickly push-fitted. The hose easily wraps around the machine for storage. There’s an excellent facility that allows you to draw water from a bucket or water tank if you don’t have an outside tap. Easy to move as it has wheels and suitcase style handle (telescopic). Highly recommended

It’s worth paying the extra money to get this rather than a cheaper unit in my opinion. And the compact version is cheaper than the full size k4 whilst offering the same power.
Need a hose with this. Had to purchase separately which delayed being able to use it.
Despite being called ‘compact’ it isn’t actually much smaller than its full-size counterpart. It still has the same capabilities, but it’s built a little smaller and could be a better choice if your storage space is limited. There is still space to store the lances on board the machine and even rubberised lugs at the bottom to hold them in pace. The hose can be stored on the front of the device but I find it best to loop it in my hand and then place it over the holder, and not to try to loop it around the machine itself. The electrical cable hasn’t got a storage position so I’ve just got it looped over the top. I’ve attached some photos so that you can see how a stored item looks in the real world.
The complete machine is lightweight compared to some pressure washers but still very sturdy, with a solid feel to it. I like that it is easy to manoeuvre thanks to its wheels, but it is still stable enough not to topple over when the hose is pulled during use. It is more powerful than I’d expected too, being easily capable of great results. As well as using the lances which are supplied (a general-purpose lance and a dirt-buster) I’ve been using it with the Karcher T 350 Wide Area Surface Cleaner which is the big patio cleaning tool. Using my snowfoam lance with it gives great results too, making car washing a doddle. This machine has surprised me with how capable it is. I didn’t expect it to be so powerful, nor so easy to use and I can certainly Say that it has impressed me.
The Krcher K 4 Compact Pressure Washer is a really easy to use and effective pressure washer.
I used it to clean an extensive patio area and some staining to a rendered wall. The two wands that are included make for light work albeit time consuming when covering a large area. I cleaned up the patio really easily and a few passes of the strained wall also cleaned it up. It easily shifts muck and moss.
The K4 is not the most powerful but it worked really well for me, no problems at all. You might want to consider a more powerful model if you want to use it frequently and for lots of tough jobs; no doubt the K6 and K7 models would make for an even quicker job.
I did use the instructions to set up the washer but it was really quite easy and intuitive. Having had a cheaper washer in the past I can see the quality difference with Krcher and do think that it would be a false economy to go for a lesser model.
It almost makes cleaning enjoyable! It was certainly satisfying to see the results.
I’ve used Karcher for a long time and was delighted with this new light weight portable version. I say light weight and portable but it’s only a little smaller than a full sized one and only a little lighter, but if you are strapped for space this is a great alternative.
It is missing some of the features my old Karcher had like the liquid soap bottle dispenser you could plug directly into the machine but to be perfectly honest that system never worked very well. Kept going everywhere and the machine sometimes wouldn’t allow the soap into the mix. This one has a little suction pipe and to be frank is a better system. Just don’t knock the bottle over.
You get the basic lance and triggers but all the other attachments like the patio cleaner etc. work just as well on the portable system so don’t worry it’s fully backwards compatible.
Everything fits where it’s supposed to and is neatly stored and due to it’s size you will find it’s the attachments you’re looking for places to store them not the machine.
Any scepticism over a compact K4’s performance compared to a full size machine. was however eliminated by comparing the specifications ( no difference in power or cleaning ability) and actual use. The new compact K4 is quite simply a great washer in a compact body. It is light enough to carry (or pull) easily and the retracting handle makes storage so much easier.
Drawbacks? Missing the larger plastic body of the full size version means that if you use supplemental cleaning fluids, they have to be accessed from the fluid’s container sitting on the ground into which via the K4’s siphon tube is dipped. If you do regularly use additives, this will be much more inconvenient if you need to move the washer around. In such a case, I would recommend the full size K4. Wrapping the hose around the front of the body is okay and is meant to keep the overall system size compact. If you take your time, it is possible to wrap the hose correctly….rush it and I found I was left with too much hose sticking out…..note to self, more patience.
Comes with the two standard lances as per the full size K4 and a found both to be very effective. In terms of noise, I think no pressure washer could be described as quiet but I think the water cooled compact K4 is about what you would expect…certainly have heard much worse.
If, however, you rarely use additives, the compact K4 will I think meet the average domestic user’s needs without any significant issues. Certainly now my favoured pressure washer and easily recommended.
The compact nature, makes it easy to store and the built in wheels and expandable handle allow for easy maneuverability . The only drawback in this respect is the weight of the product, which is substantial, but I think this is the nature of the beast as all pressure washer are pretty weighty. Being able to keep the attachments directly on the unit is also a great bonus as it makes it harder to misplace things.
The quality seems to be very good, with everything appearing very solid and well made, it’s pretty much built like a tank, so I expect it to last a long time.
Overall, I can’t find anything to complain about with this pressure washer and have no problems recommending it to anyone.
There is a suction tube which can be used to interact with a bottle of detergent to give you more power and the layout of the model is ergonomically good. My only gripe is that the detergent bottle is free standing and it would be good if Krcher could think of something foldable to secure the bottle to the washer body.
It’s lightweight and easy to put away with everything in the right place. The tools supplied are basic but sufficient for most jobs (2 lances and a pistol type gun). With this Compact model the bar pressure has been improved to 130 (it was 110 on previous models) and the high pressure hose has been lengthened from 4 to 6 metres (larger models go up to 10). However, I don’t see that as a problem. It’s horses for courses and you buy the model for the type of job you want to do. Every device has pros and cons. This is for lightweight, low level pressure washing, not industrial scale work. It is compact and can be packed away easily and it’s an improvement on the previous models. That’s it.
In the pack you get the K4 compact, a trigger gun, and two lances – a ‘power’ lance and a dirt blaster plus around a 6 metre hose and a detergent suction tube. You also get some brief instructions, and some even briefer instructions! In terms of power the K4 produces 130 bar which is exactly the same as the larger full-sized K4. In addition Krcher suggest that both models can clean the same area in the same time. This model, as with the larger Krcher models comes with a three-year guarantee.
On the face of it therefore this model has a lot going for it. It is certainly more manoeuvrable and easier to carry around. It also occupies a lot less space. This will be less case if you need to buy a full range of accessories which include a car washing brush, power scrubber, a range of patio cleaners etc etc. There is one significant let down compared to the full-sized K4 – detergent in the large model plugs in to a receptacle in the machine making it easy to use. The smaller machine only has a tube which connects to a bottle detergent on the ground so as you move about you need to move the detergent as well although this is mitigated a little by the 6 metre pressure hose. Otherwise I see no significant issues in selecting the compact K4 compared to the full sized one.
So a machine as powerful as its larger model, with the same accessories available, and a little less expensive. Despite the detergent issue this is a five star machine.
The water pressure is powerful enough to allow you to write your name in the dirt on your patio- the dirt you didn’t even realise was there in most cases and still gentle enough to wash your car quickly and effectively.
From the box to up and running takes 5 minutes, using it is child’s play and actually pretty fun, the only additional items you need are a pair of wellies and you good to go.
Having made light work of my decking, swing bench and flag stones I have only good things to say about this Krcher and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a pressure washer.
This K4 Compact also comes with the brilliant vario power lance which allows you to regulate the pressure right up to 130 bar so you can use it for heavy cleaning duties and also for tasks such as rinsing off a car whilst cleaning, and also watering flower beds. It also comes with the extremely powerful dirt blaster lance which just blows away just about anything it hits. The detergent suction tube is a handy feature to have even though I don’t use it because I have a foam gun attachment.
Given it’s compact size and relatively light weight I can see me using this more often than my larger K4 Full Control Pressure Washer.
