You need to fill the water reservoir up before switching it on and before it hears up. There is a safety feature that stops you unscrewing the nozzle when the cleaner is hot.
The cord could be longer as t the floors can be a ake a little while to dry and you don’t want to walk on them to unplug and plug in another room.
Buy extra cleaning pads as they get dirty very quickly. I bought them in ebay for a fraction of the price.
I have also used the cleaner with the nozzle attachment to clean the grouting on my floor tiles and it did an excellent job. I wish I’d taken before and after photos.
All in all a really good quality steam floor cleaner that does a very thorough job. Really pleased.
This is a fantastic steam cleaner. It looks a so much better than my old vax one. It is amazing how much dirt it picks up and how clean it leaves the floors looking. There are a few things mentioned in other reviews that ring true.

Love this and it’s versatility. I can’t think of anything negative apart from one small but very annoying thingthe tubes and cords do not tidy away easily. Apart from that this is a genius gadget! Makes cleaning easy and fun!

It works! I cleaned my entire bathroom (obviously not the loo!) and it was so, so easy.
I cleaned bits of my cooker and it was so, so easy.
My kitchen floor looks better than it has since we bought the vinyl and again, so easy to push the steam cleaner over it. The occasional sticking bit only required a couple of extra blasts of steam and firm sweeps of the cleaning cloth to be removed.
In fact, it’s made me quite excited about cleaning! I’m getting on a little in years and certainly struggle with arthritis, but this has really taken the effort away. Wish I’d bought one ages ago!
The tank holds way more water than most of the competitors so your steam lasts longer. There was an occasional wait of a very short duration to allow the water to reach the correct temperature, but I’m talking 30 seconds.
Really pleased with this and would reccommend.
Seems a good solid made item, not the most powerful I’ve used but a good all rounder for the money.

Great for making our tiles shine. Used once per week and it’s definitely easier than a mop and bucket as it dries faster.
Recommend buying additional cloths, we use 2-3 each time we use it as it looks filthy after 1-2 rooms.
Arrived yesterday in good condition. Lightweight and easy to set up and use, with a variety of useful accessories. Did a fantastic deep clean of the bathroom. Looking forward to doing the kitchen next. Will update in a few months, but so far so good.

It’s incredibly easy to use and the build quality is what you would expect from this brand, have used throughout the house on floors, shower screens , windows, basically any hard surface with impressive results.
The only slight irritation is the lack of cord storage, but otherwise excellent product.

One of the best gifts I have bought for my wife, It has made cleaning so much easier. She not only uses it for floors but the inside of the windows, also to freshen up the beds.
Great little machine and does the job, not for big job but great to have around the house so small stains etc
This unit does an excellent job so highly recommended. If there is one issue it’s the time to get up to stream from switching on. It seems to take around 5 minutes but in practice if you allow for this then it’s no real problem.

Easy to manoeuvre around like that it heats quickly. Have used it on my carpets and it cleans and freshens them well. I was happy with this cleaner till it suddenly stopped working. Red light wouldn’t go off even when water tank was filled. Bought new filter but that made no difference. Have done everything it says in manual and on internet to no avail. Will now have to replace it but not with a marcher I’m afraid.

Happy with cleaner and fairly light to move around. I would have preferred some kind of method for securing electric wire and tube etc when storing.

I’m using this for a month now, and satisfied. Does what’s in the description. Other reviewers say it leaves water, but obviously it will you put water in, and the same comes out. However, much hotter, so dries quickly.
I have only given it 4 stars as with all Karcher products there is nowhere to store the cord. COME ON KARCHER I DOUBT IT WOULD BE THAT EXPENSIVE TO ADD A CORD STORAGE FACILITY. The other problem I have is the floors cleaning clothes, they only come in WHITE making it difficult to get them gleaming white after washing the floor, I prefer the blue clothes which are easier to wash.
Yes this steamer does everything it claims. Very easy to use lightweight so can carry it around if necessary. I can steam clean curtains, windows, walls, tiles and floors. I also steam cleaned my leather sofas.
I like this steamer my previous one of a different make, which I have had for a few years, was more difficult to change to use other attachments which meant I rarely used them and just used it to wash the floor. The Karcher model takes longer to heat up than my last model, but I can live with that.

Very pleased, my house has seldom been cleaner. It is slightly unwieldy and the flex and hose are not easy to store.
Great machine this is my second one had the last one for years
Very easy to use stores away neatly, the only fault if you call it that, is you have to wait for it to cool down before you can open the safety topper to top up. There is no top up place like an iron to allow you to top up while cleaning all the house.
Am very impressed with product ,easy to use .Very good on any tiling and glass .Have used the tools for bathroom and around tight places germs can spread .
Cleans well on floors & shower screens haven’t the window attachment so unable to say how it cleans windows .Would have benefited from somewhere to store the cable & also some way of knowing how much water was in the machine as it’s difficult to tell & could be overfilled
Found this product an excellent addition to the carpet cleaner in our house. Stains that have been there post the carpet cleaner have now gone with the steamer. Glad we bought the unit.
I went on a bit of a cleaning frenzy and steamed my carpet, kitchen floors and then changed the nozzles and did my microwave and oven. Although the steam removed some coating on my microwave. Great product and easy to use though.

It doesn’t pick up as much as i might have expected but its a cleaner not a vacuum cleaner. There is a knack to getting the best out of it, which i am finding for each surface. Another owner said that they put a couple of drops of essential oil on the cleaning cloth and the whole office smelt wonderful (depends on your oil / taste i guess) which I like the idea of.

I love this cleaner – far more than the upright I had previously. We have dogs and the kitchen floor tiles have cleaned up beautifully. I like the fact you can buy extra attachments. It’s really easy to and move around.
Brilliant product, absolutely love it. Easy to use and put together. Cleans almost anything. Works really well. Not to big or clunky easy to move around.
Brillian has an amazing powerful jet of steam ive just renovated with a extension and the dust and dirty seemed never ending the more u cleaned the more it came. This makes a huge difference. Made our floors look amazing highly recommended.

Blitzed my kitchen cupboards, windows, tiles and floor. Also steamed my dog beds. Love this wee gadget! Slightly confused as to when it needs refilled though. Also be careful when refilling it’s hot! Info in manual is a bit sparse. There’s more languages than info! My shower cubicle is next on the hit list.
Powerful, easy to use, effective way to clean. Fantastic for disinfecting food and deliveries when they come into the house, as well as high traffic areas of floors, and soft furnishings. Great investment and a fantastic brand. Everything we’ve had from them is properly made.

Love this cleaner. Have used it on tiles, floors, kitchen work surfaces and the range cooker. It was fantastic on the range cooker.

Wow, had fun steam busting the whole house,floors,doors,carpets curtains, bathroom toilets etc,I added a tiny amount of Disinfectant, house smells lovey and clean. Definitely recommend.
My other daughter has one so thought I’d even things up. Seems to be a good item except for only having one cover for the head.
Bought to try and keep cat fleas down. Does clean well.

It is very efficient. Easy to use and does a perfect job.
Bought it mainly to do the floors, but before I knew it I had also done all the kitchen unit fronts, the oven door & bathroom – effortless cleaning using basically just water!
Only gripe is the cord doesn’t have a holder or anything, but I expected this based on other reviews.
Hopefully this will last longer than other steam cleaners I’ve had in the past, but would fully recommend to anyone as a great multi purpose steam cleane
We bought it for detailed cleaning. You can use it almost any place e.g. bathroom, oven, window frames, floors etc.
I am pleased with the performance of this product. However, because I have weak wrists I found the opening and closing of the water inlet very difficult. I do realise that this may have to remain in order to keep the necessary pressure of the hot water in place.
This has changed my house cleaning habits. No longer is it a chore to get my house cleaned to my high standard. It takes less time to steam my rooms than it does to talk myself out of it so I might as well steam which I now do to my heart content. Everything is done so quickly. Take care with the amount of water you use as too much water causes excessive water release. Find your right balance according to the size of the room. I would rather half fill the chamber twice and have perfect steam than fill up once and have excessive water. I love it.
Works like a charm, cleans well, and the pads etc. just pop in the wash, put on the airer and they are good to go again.
Well built unit, that does the job I bought it for nicely.
This does a great job on my semi-gloss (lappato) floor which my previous steam mop left streaks on. The only reason I give it four stars is because I find the handle is not the most comfortable to hold for long periods of time – my downstairs floor area is quite large and i get a sore patch on my hand when using the steam cleaner continuously. Also the lead could do with being slightly longer.

Heats up really fast and ready to go. Can run out of steam on long cleaning sessions but just enough of a wait to justify a tea break. Wear gloves to protect your hands from the grip as well as stray steam.
I’m going to get my initial gripe out of the way. When i received this, the castor wheel at the base of the machine was damaged; one plastic wheel was missing and the other cracked. It would appear that it was broken in transit, and given that the item comes pretty loosely packed in the box, Krcher could do with adding some better internally packaging in future. Anyway, I contacted customer services and got a replacement in the post. I had to yank out the old castor and pop-in the new one. Gripe over.
The overall thing is basically made of plastic, so it’s not that heavy to handle, although don’t go dropping it. The tubes, etc, fit together easily well (much like any vacuum cleaner you’ll have used). However when used on the laminate floors in my flat, the steam does clean them well, but also appears to leave some water behind… maybe i need to move the steam-head quicker across the floor, so maybe I need more practice with it (despite having it for several months now) or maybe it’s just how it is when hot steam meets cold laminate. This is less of a problem in my fully tiled bathroom – and that does do a good job at cleaning all those tiles — and in the kitchen. My kitchen has a bog-standard stainless steel sink and draining board, and it comes out shining after using this.
Given the size of my flat (a modest 2-bed home), and the limited number of surfaces I can use this on, this cleaner is pretty much as good as I need. If you have a larger home, and predominantly hard-surfaces (e.g.: not carpets) then you may want to looking the SC3 or SC4 models.

This is my first steam cleaner. I liked the idea to clean without chemicals and without touching dirt and still kill 99.99% bacteria.
So far I have used Karcher SC2 once and it cleaned tough dirt, limescale and mould quite well.
I wish the original package included more tools and cloths. I have already bought extra cloths and looking to order more brushes.
Not used yet but used a friend’s and they are brill
You will need to give the floor a quick dry as you go along but on the whole so much quicker and cleaner than a conventional mop
I am very impressed with this especially as I have had problems with steam cleaners before. This definately seemed more powerful than others that I have used. It works and that is not always true of steam cleaners. Is it an essential purchase. No, not at all unless you are running a commercial kitchen or something similar. Will it get your kitchen floor really clean? Yes it will.
It is a slight faff on to use but I think it is worth it. It really isn’t that much of an effort to use especially if you plan your time.
This makes quite light work of mopping the floors and can also be used for walls and cupboards.
The unit is easy to fill and then needs a few minutes to get up to temp and be ready to use.

Since it just uses tap water, no consumables to worry about – though I suppose the micro-fibre cloth set would need replacement eventually. being not all that large, packs away quite neatly.
This does a good job. I have only used it once so hard to tell about how good the product is long term. I have used various different brands in the past and am impressed with this one compared to the others as it does not leave the floor waterlogged. I cleaned everything from the floor to the kitchen cupboards and tops, worked fine and good results. I always wipe dry everything afterwards just to get a better finish. Some people have complained that the floors are not wet enough, that’s probably because they are using it like a hoover, take your time and do it slowly and you will get decent results, and the floor will be slightly wet, just not totally waterlogged as mentioned before.
As steamers go this is quite a large one even though it is probably small for this brand. Comes will lots of handy attachments for around the home. It takes about 5 minutes to heat up and does emit lots of steam. I did notice that my floors were left a bit wet after use but this dries off okay without streaks. It’s good and works a lot better than my previous steamer. I like it but it is a bit bigger than I expected.
Pleased with the performance of the product and the price. Much cheaper than the high street. The only negative comment in my opinion on the product is that the handle/trigger assembly is made of cheap hard brittle plastic so how robust it will be in the long term is a conce
Well hands down the SC2 wins it for me.
The main difference between the two is that the SC2 is a pressurised system which can’t be re-filled without using up all the water and depressurising the unit before re-filling and it has a long heat up time until you can use it (around 6 min). The SC3 can be re-filled during use and can be used after about 30 seconds.
So why do I think the SC2 is the better machine?
Well the SC3 has a major flaw – it dribbles water. Mine may just have been a faulty unit but other reviews have said the same thing. Basically the first burst when you depress the steam button is pure water and then the steam starts. Which means unless you have a handy basin or bucket handy to catch this, it creates a lot of mess. Periodically during operation, the SC3 sucks up more water from the open tank and then dribbles water again.
The SC2 on the other hand – takes longer to warm up but gives pure steam and at virtually the same pressure (3.2 versus 3.5bar). The 1litre tank lasts for about 25 min and is enough to do my bathroom and kitchen and hallway floors. Yes its a bit of a faff having to depressurise the machine to empty or refill it but thats a minor inconvenience.
The SC2 comes with a nylon brush head, a larger scrubbing head and a floor attachment. Would be nice if it came with a few more attachments but to be honest the 3 included attachments are all I really ever use.
So for performance and price the SC2 wins hands down. Save yourself some money and get yourself one!
Makes light work of a variety of tasks and a really good investment.
When the unit arrives there is an instruction book in a bazillion languages but it’s actually pretty simple. You just need to pop all the wheels into it, affix the desired head and away you go. There’s no On switch as such, you just plug it in and wait 6 mins for the light on the front to turn green. Then you can unleash the steam by pulling the trigger on the handle.
The handle has three steam settings, one being a child lock.
I found after a few seconds of holding down the trigger the mop was ready to work. The head left the floor damp but not wet and, when it was all done, it dried in minutes as it was a very hot day.
There was absolutely no leaking or spillage at all.
The unit is small, light and easily portable. Another good bit of design is that most of the attachments can be affixed to the unit when not in use so they won’t get lost.
All in all, this is the best thought out steamer I have ever used and seems to do its job very well.
