These were a gift for my other half and she loves them. Easy to use, handle fits her hands and they stay sharp.
These are really good knives, very sharp have been using it for past 6 months every day and it is my favourite knife now.
I got one long time ago…well two, the first one I broke it I did not know how to take care of it. We have to be careful, but they are great cutting, chopping, pealing…Just follow the instructions about how to take care of them and you are going to have them for long long time! I cannot use another kind of knifes anymore!
I never knew how dull my knives were! These are fantastic! You have to relearn how to use knives so you don’t cut yourself (I cut myself) because these cut like butter! I have to train my brain to view them as very sharp and to be more careful than I was with my others because these have the look and feel of being plastic and dull. The only thing they didn’t cut well was a spaghetti squash. I actually broke a blade trying to do this.
All-purpose, easy to use, and remain sharp. As per instructions, avoid bones. When I accidentally damaged the large knife on a bone, the company repaired it at a minimal fee.
Great knives, extremely sharp, comfortable handles. Have had them for a few months now and they are still as sharp as the day I got them. Like other reviewers have mentioned, they are meant for slicing, not chopping or sawing through bone. Handle with care. Even a light touch will slice through skin. The only negative is that I wish they came with sheaths.
I have owned these knives for about three months. I use them several times a week for slicing and dicing produce. They have remained sharp. There is a brief learning curve to using these knives. The usual rocking motion used with a classic metal chef’s knife won’t work with these. These are a useful kitchen gadget. These ceramic knives are not essential and are not a replacement for a good quality metal chef’s knife and paring knife.
I wife is cutting a piece of meat and a piece of this knife chipped out shipped it back to them haven’t heard a thing since.
In a timely manner the Company has made good on their guarantee so I apologize for slamming them.
Something to know about ceramic knives – they will chip if you try to cut a bone. These knives are very sharp and cut beautifully.
Excelente producto! Totalmente recomendable.
I was skeptical when I first bought this.. it looked fragile. When is used it cut meat and fruits.. I was amazed.. it cuts so well I was shocked … I would recommend this to everyone
Love these knives— they stay sharp!— but be careful: they break easily. Still worth it for the price. I buy a new set once every few years
These knives are my “go to” knives. We have a couple very expense knives, but I like the way Kyocera knives cut though whatever I am preparing.
he knifes are very sharp and cut great but the blade is too thin that it is easy to easy, in fact, the smallest one already came chipped on the blade.
Great set of knives. You do have to be careful when using them and what you are cutting. They are ceramic so can easily crack or break. Easy to clean and stays sharp. I am a fan of the brand.
I love ceramic knives. I purchased these for a friend, (I already have a few) and she agreed that once you go ceramic you can’t go back. They are so easy to use and light, and cut fruits and vegis beautifully. Once you use ceramic, metal starts feeling overly aggressive. They do chip though. We’ve had to replace them over time due to chipping, however, they hardly dull. At least not for us.
These knives are ideal, and sharp. I purchased this set to replace a friends, center size 6″, that I had broken accidentally.. I brought the remaining 2 knives in this set home with me and find myself reaching for them when I need a knife. They come with a lifetime sharpening service should you ever need it.
When you use one of these knives your mind is awed thinking that prior to this exact moment, “What have I been cutting with?”
I would like another set of these knives.
I liked these, but when I realized my spouse ordered them I started the return. They appear nice, but I just did not want to spend that much at Christmas on myself
Imballaggio intatto e coltelli in perfette condizioni. Consiglio l’acquisto. Consegna Amazon puntuale
hese knives are really nice to use in the kitchen. They are sharp, light weight and a pleasure to use.
I bought this set to replace an old Kyocera knife I already had. I love that knife and this set is great. I went from 1 knife to 3 in different sized. Be careful, if you are not good with knives or are not paying attention you will cut yourself.
As with any ceramic knife, do not try anything where you slightly bend the blade… it will break as it did for me. But! If you use these knives as intended; they are amazing. Love all 3. I was not sure what I’d use sweated knife for; but it’s great for bread.
I just ordered a knife block for these knives. The only improvement would be if they automatically came with sheaths to protect them.
These are REALLY sharp. Still have my fingers, but even a slip will take a chunk of you if you are careless. These are not quite as durable as steel, I’ve chipped the tip of one being stupid. Be sure to clean properly and don’t learn to juggle with them and you should have a lifetime of use from these.
First, these knives are great….super sharp! I love them! I bought the sleeves for them as well and I highly recommend to do that!
I am writing this review 7 months later for the simple fact that I had a great customer service experience! The 5″ knife got a big chip in it and I emailed Kyocera about it. At first they said I could send it in to be sharpened, but would have to pay shipping. When I emailed back and said I was disappointed and that sharpening would not fix this issue as there was a big chunk out of the blade, I then received a reply stating they would just replace it at no cost and ship me a new one immediately!
That is true customer service and I truly appreciate them standing behind their product as I love these knives and recommend them! Thank you Kyocera!!
I LOVE THESE KNIVES!!! Oh man I love a sharp knife. I keep my metal knives sharp as can be. These ceramic knives are off-the-hook sharp, like surgically sharp! The tips are rounded so you don’t draw blood. They are an absolute dream to use. I accidentally cut my finger with one and it was such a clean cut it resealed and healed almost immediately, it was crazy.
These can chip easily, had to buy this set to replace a friends that chipped while I was using i
This is the second time we have bought these knives because we love them. They are better than any fancy knife sets we purchased in stores. Well worth the price. Purchase the knife block when getting this set to help keep them I good shape.
Super sharp. I’m a chef and Im used very sharp Japanese knives. This thing is amazing. The only reason it doesn’t get a 5 star review is because the are fragile and can break very easy.
Great knives, worth the price, but for most people one knife is actually enough, so I would recommend the single knife from the same brand
I love these knives — they’re razor sharp, easy to use, dishwasher safe, and very durable. I bought one of these years ago and have been universally pleased with the quality, so buying this three pack was a no-brainer. The little paring knife is great for small jobs, the medium knife has a little serration that helps for easier cuts, and the big chef’s knife is just excellent all around.
First time owning and using ceramic knives. Great price and great addition to the kitchen. These don’t completely replace your metal knives as ceramic knives are great for slicing vegetables, fruits, and meats, but not good for anything that might require or cause torsion which can cause them to snap (cutting butternut squash or bone joints). Also if dropped they may chip. With those two cautions I can say I have never enjoyed food preparation as much as with these knives, light in the hand and cut so smooth and easily. You may have seen that Kyocera offers similar knives with black blades. The sale person at the kitchen store indicated that the black bladed knives were made with higher or an additional heat process and which made them stronger. He said also that the edge of ceramic knives hold up to 10 times longer than metal blades but do need sharpening and you will need a ceramic knife sharpener.
Some of our favourite knives. Nice fit in the hand and very sharp.
I bought these for my fianc for Christmas. He loves to cook and has a set of high-end knives that he loves, but he’d heard about the ceramic knives and wanted to try them out. He LOVES these!! Any time someone comes over to the house, he has to show them how sharp these knives are. He’s a big fan!
Estoy fascinada
I’ve purchased these exact same knives years ago but was in need of a new set. These arrived super fast. Got an excellent deal and these are my favorite knives!
I was over at a friends house making a stir-fry and she offered me her Kyocera knife and said,”Try this knife. It’s the best one I’ve ever used.” I took the knife and what she said with a grain of salt. I’m a chef and have opened 58 restaurants around the world. She was right! I left her house and bought myself a set the next day! They are without a doubt the BEST knives I’ve ever used. Not only are they razor sharp, they are light and that provides a far easier experience for your hands when chopping large amounts of anything. Best knives EVER!
These are my go to knives for everything. I have been using this brand for years. I give these as Christmas gifts every year. Everyone loves them. Its the kind of thing you may not even know about or are afraid to try it. I cant explain how sharp they are. You will need to see to believe.
I Love Kyocera knives. The serrated tomato knife is especially handy. Handled with loving care and respected for their sharp edge they will last a good long time.
These are fantastically sharp. They do feel very brittle though since it is ceramic not metal, so do not go prying stuff or smacking it against things in the sink.
Wash them right after using, store them seperately, and take care of them. If you do that they are amazing at slicing fruits and vegetables, and boneless meats.
We received our first Kyocera knife as a gift from a friend from Japan. The first time I used it, I was cutting a large about of potatoes and would have expected my wrist to be a little sore by the time I was done but it wasn’t. We’ve been very happy with that knife and finally decided to invest in this set which includes a chef’s knife, a paring knife, and a serrated knife. We cook a lot and this set fully meets our needs. There’s really no need to by an expensive 20 piece knife set. One caveat: these knives will chip if you use them to cut meat. This is a non issue for us because we’re vegetarian and they are excellent for everything else
Love them so much I bought everyone I know these knives. Cut through one tomato and you’ll ever use another. Lifetime warranty and lifetime sharpening.
These knives are great for cutting. They never dull. But you have to be careful with them as they can chip really easy. So, be careful when washing or putting them around dishes so they don’t get damaged.
Cutting the random food items is a little easier for my wife with these, Even after only a few weeks, they have had a lot of use. I don’t think they will last years though, one of them already has a few small chips in the blade. My wife is far from dainty on them though, so your results may vary.
Update: ended up sending in the larger knife for warranty review/replacement. Received a new knife in a reasonable amount of time without a hassle. Wife and I are happy. Happy to see good customer service.
i started cooking when i was 5, and did it professionally for a decade as well as take culinary arts. Im an advocate for having the proper tools for the job, and as such am a bit of a knife connoisseur. while i have a complete set of hand-forged steel knives i still purchased these ceramic knives, as there are many tasks they outperform steel knives. You may be thinking ceramic knives are a joke. have you ever seen how sharp the edge of a broken plate is? now imagine how sharp it would be if it were purposefully crafted to be the ultimate cutting tool. thats what these knives are. my first experience with ceramic knives was about a decade ago when a cook i worked with bought one. they were far more expensive then. that Kyocera knife impressed everyone in the kitchen as easily as it chopped through herbs, making us all envious. When i saw this set for just over $60 i pounced on it.
the handles are solidly attached, comfortable and the weight and balance of the knives are great, they are much, much lighter than steel knives and therefore not as tiresome to use. the size and shape of each of the knives in this set is perfect for the tasks they are meant to perform. these knives have become my quick task go to knives for a herb chopping or cheese slicing in day to day meal prep. when im in full on cooking mode i break out the steel knives.
why buy ceramic knives if you already have great steel knives?? steel blades have little imperfections in the edge that work as little teeth, so when you cut you need to slide the knife through to get it to cut. thats why a steel slicer knife is so long, so you can drag it through the food for a clean cut. ceramic knives dont have these imperfections and can hold a sharp edge far better, so when you cut you can just press straight down without needing to drag your knife through the food to get a clean cut. this makes them ideal for many tasks, such as chopping herbs, slicing mushrooms etc. However, the ceramic blades are more delicate and can chip or break if mishandled/dropped, and dont handle having twisting force applied, remember, they are rigid like a plate. Kyocera has lifetime warranty so they will replace if the knives go dull or become chipped.
you may see other ceramic knives cheaper than these, but there are differences. if you are going to buy ceramic, buy Kyocera for 2 reasons. first is that they have a special patented formula for the ceramic blade which makes it better than others, and cant be copied. second is the lifetime warranty to replace chipped knives and sharpen dull blades, combined with the backing of a company that will most likely be around in 30 years to back their lifetime warranty.
these knives are seriously sharp, and will easily cut and slice into things, even the cutting board, that you may not expect. as well they are not as hardy as steel knives. to prevent accidental cuts and breakage i highly recommend getting sheaths to protect yourself and the blades. i bought these, and they are perfect for this set of knives: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00OCVLJ8K/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_8
if you know someone into cooking they will surely appreciate these knives, or even if you have a full set of steel knives these knives will easily find their way into regular usage in your kitchen. everyone should have at least one ceramic knife, and once you do, youll wish you had more, so just start with this set.
Excelente calidad!
lames cramiques peuvent s’aiguiser.

I LOVE those knives ! It s not the same as a regular knife , it feels better and for sure healthier !
I am so happy to have made this discovery ! Looking forward to getting all sizes they make ! Lol
Hyper lgers, donc hyper maniables !
A flte!
Knives are nice but chipped almost instantly and we still don’t know why. They are sharp but we have a chipped knife! Dang. I think they are pretty fragile even with care
I can never seem to sharpen knives successfully. Over the past few years I have solved this problem by buying ceramic knives. The Kyocera knives are by far the best we have ever owned, and they come with a life-time warrantee!
I am not new to ceramic knives. I have purchased another brand of ceramics before so I knew somewhat what to expect when the Kyocera set arrived. Compared to another no-name brand, I felt the Kyocera set had some advantages. This set quickly bites into tomatoes, peaches, fruits with zero slippage along the sharp edge. The blade has no hesitation cutting into soft fruits and veggies making paper thin slices super easy to do. My other set of ceramic blades are thicker on the backend of the blade much like stainless steel knives. But the Kyocera set measures the same uniform thickness on the sharp and dull edges. Why is this important? It makes cutting those paper thin tomato slices easy because it removes the ambiguity of whether I am holding the blade at the precise angle to cut even slices. At first, this uniform thickness makes them look like lesser quality than my other set but in actual performance, they worked better. The set also comes with a serrated blade for when you need that kind of application.
The only con are the ergonomics of the handles and because the Kyocera set doesn’t include sheaths to protect the knives. I felt, if less expensive sets include sheaths, then the Kyocera should also. The handles don’t feel firm in the hand like other ceramics so that’s a downer. But nevertheless, they do perform extremely well.
I do wish they came in all black or gun metal gray. I don’t get why ceramics come in fruity colorful colors. But that’s just my subjective feeling about them. On the plus side, Kyocera offers a life-time sharpening service included with the set. I haven’t used their service yet because I just bought them but if they stand true to their promise, I would think Kyocera blades provide a good value. But having a second set of these knives would make sense so while one set is back at Kyocera being serviced, I would have another set to keep using in the kitchen.
One tip I would like to pass on. If I had to buy again, I would still buy Kyocera. However, I would pick a set with only longer knives. The smaller knives aren’t as useful and don’t get used often. So it’s wasteful if you think about it. You don’t want to use ceramic blades on ceramic plates so the smaller blades aren’t very useful for the dinner table either. Ceramic blades should only be used on wood cutting board to prevent them from chipping. I use a bamboo cutting board because of their natural antibacterial properties.
These were to replace an old set of the same exact manufacturer my wife had for at least 10 years. She had dropped one on the kitchen floor and it broke. They have a lifetime guarantee but we felt it would be unfair to claim it after all these years and the fact she dropped it on a tile floor. She loves them.
Great knives, although the handle is slippery if your hands are greasy. I understand they have now a non-slip grip.
Love these knives! They are unbelievably sharp! Ordered a second set since I broke 2 of the knives while cutting something that was too hard; was not because the knives were bad though, I was just cutting something that was too hard and then dropped the other knife.
The quality of material and workmanship is outstanding. The blades are so fine, near the edge they are almost see through. You can tell who ever designed these knives took pride in his work. Now, I’ve owned the for only a few weeks, so I can’t speak about their longevity, but I’ll just say this. I accidentally bought two sets. I was going to return one, but seeing how well constructed they are, I’m keeping the second set. It’s well worth the money.
I am so happy with this purchase! Knife quality is as awesome as recommended by my friends. Glad I chose the three sizes as I can use them for each of my cooking needs!
Wow! Are these knives sharp! My wife began using these knives in a routine manner and was so impressed she called me over to see how effective they cut. She grabbed a tomato and demonstrated that it was liking using a scalpel. They have to be the sharpest knives we ever used. Granted, they are little pricey, but if you’ve ever priced Cutco knives (or other high-end cutlery) then you know they’re not out of line.
I really enjoy using these knives. they are very easily to get chipped.
These are really useful knifes.
Excellent quality.
They are really sharp, so you gotta be careful.
They are delicate, you have to wash them as you finish using them.
These live up to their reputation. I bought a set because my friend recommended it. They’re wonderfully sharp but easy to control. I especially like on the largest knife the rounded blade. Smooth cut on meat. Slices everything perfectly. Has a bit of a learning curve though, it’s sliced my hand with a mere touch. I’ve never been able to cut tomato slices 1mm thick before. If you want sharp and light this is worth every penny.
Stay very very sharp for along time when used with the proper food item. Also clearly can’t treat them the same way as a metal knife.
This is the second time I have bought Kyocera ceramic knives and I highly recommend them. After the success I have had my parents bought a set and my brother bought himself a set. They are exceptionally sharp, but be aware that they are quite brittle and you should not use them for anything that twists the blade or might chip the blade (such as cutting cheese or cutting meat off the bone). A friend tried to open a can with the knife and the blade shattered (of course!), so be aware of what you are cutting! For cutting vegetables these knives give you amazing cuts.
I primarily use the chef’s knife, and I use the serrated knife for tomatoes (its amazing how thin it will slice). I don’t use the paring knife very often.
Impossible to imagine how good this set is–until you have it in hand and use it.
I cannot speak to long term use or to the warranty yet. However, I can address the sharpness of the knives and their effectiveness in the kitchen.
The three sizes cover the basic needs and for the intended purposes, these are the absolute best knives that I have encountered.
If and when, I need to access the warranty, I will update the review as to the response.
These are great knives and are very reasonably priced. I purchased them for my wife for Christmas and she is very happy with them. I would recommend them to anyone that likes to cook and those that value high quality knives.
Super sharp and stays sharp for a long, long time! But seriously, be careful. They cut you like butter. I’ve resorted to putting all my knives on the left hand side of the dish container for washing. I am the dishwasher so I must be careful. They are worth the cost and make chopping and dicing a joy. I even bought my mom a set of them and she loves them as well, and yes she has cut herself too.
My favorite knives ever. I was given these as a gift by a friend. I was pretty rough on them, and chipped the large one cutting a hard cauliflower and broke the little one when I stuck it in something I knew I shouldn’t have stuck it in (yes they will break). I was bummed out and then noted there’s a lifetime warranty on these. Just load the form from the website and fill out the easy form. I sent them both in and I had new blades mounted to my handles within a few weeks. Impressed with this company, impressed with these knives. I bought about eight sets this Christmas and gave them to everyone on my list.
We occasionally attend cooking classes. One of the instructors recommended these, but we didn’t get around to buying one. Thankfully my brother knew of our interest in cooking and gave us one as a gift. I have fallen in love with ceramic knives as a result.
As a result we bought the set to have a greater assortment.
Let me just summarize it by saying that once you’ve used a ceramic knife you’ll NEVER want to go back!
The edge is remarkably sharp, far better than I’ve ever seen with steel knives.
Only drawback is that you need to be careful when cutting near bones, as you can chip the edge. But, Kyocera offers a lifetime replacement
warranty. We did chip one blade on a bone, and Kyocera was good to their word.
If I understand correctly, Kyocera is the Japanese high-tech ceramics maker who pioneered these knives.
If you cut anything, you’ll love them.
How fine an edge on the Kyocera knife set. I have since learned via advertisement that ceramic knives are next to diamonds in hardness. I am very satisfied with the knives.
I rate them at five stars because of their edge. The serrated edge on the middle knife slices tomatoes and onions particularly well.
The handles are not as attractive as I think the price commands, and the blade is not flexible which hampers their application for fish fillets.
The warrantee is outstanding but doubt that I will need it.
These knives work very well and are very sharp. I have had them for a couple years and they still work like a charm. I cut vegetables and meat all the time with these. The only thing that sucks about white is that they will eventually stain a little or begin to yellow. One day when these need to be replaced I will buy more but get them in black…which I think look better anyways.
I love these knives. They cut through everything with such ease. No smushed tomatoes, no fighting with watermelon, buh-bye brown lettuce. I have bought many knives and never had such amazing results as these. I’m buying more to make a set of steak knives. Only downfall, not even worth star loss, is that the white blade stains.
Very sharp and not as fragile as I expected. The French chef-style knife cuts through 2-lb blocks of cheese easily as well as loaves of artisan bread. You definitely don’t want to just throw these in a drawer with other knives or utensils and then reach in blindly for one. I made a knife rack based on the bamboo one pictured on Amazon – it was pretty quick to do and cost nothing since I used a scrap of clear 4×4 fence post material.
They can break kind of easy so you need to be careful but I love the way they cut vegetables.
Superb blades – sharp and excellent ergonomics.
However, chips easily if not careful.
Place it with metal cutlery … chips.
Cut into bone … chips.
Dishwasher … chips.
Cut into something that sticks and then you twist … cracks/chips.
You have to take very good care of them and they will take care of you. Holds an edge better than any other knife. Period.
They are very light and very sharp — and I have cut myself several times because they are light and sharp. Because they are brittle they are not suitable for use in all circumstances — best for vegetables, avoid bones — but if you are careful they work beautifully. And they clean easily — but again, be careful because they are very sharp!
These have been an unexpectedly-good value. We’d already just bought 5 excellent Henckels paring knifes here to use as steak knives, after the one we had worked much better for that than any steak knife set we’d ever tried. Then, based on advice from a blogger’s daughter, and still needing the other sizes included in this set, I ordered this too.
Since arrival, I find myself almost always using these knifes, over either our Henckel paring knives or our Henckel 8″ chef’s knife. Sharp as the Henckel blades are, somehow these are even sharper, with a micro-serrated edge that makes them my daily choice for slicing tomatoes. These knives also clean even more easily than the Henckels, rarely needing more than a quick wipe under water.
Highly recommended!
My wife had purchased these as a present to a family member last year and luckily I was listening on how much she liked these; got them for her on Mothers Day. She can’t say enough about how easy they cut (I accidentally found out how sharp they are and they are VERY SHARP!!). I now believe that I have used them more than she has as it is really unbelievable how easily they slice.
Great knives, and after a lot of research of ceramic knives, I settled on this set. While I am scared to drop them, they cut through soft fruit and meat like butter. I also got the wood block to keep them in, and the sharpener made for ceramic knives. Get this set if you want to experience your first set of ceramic knives.
This set more than met my expectations. These knives are so sharp and cut so well! We’re very pleased with them.
Bought these for my 17 yo daughter who is an aspiring chef. These knives were recommended by a friend and I am so glad I took her advice. I was skeptical not having used a ceramic knife before. These knives are amazing! I will be buying my own set or a new one for my daughter because I can’t stop using them. They are very sharp. I managed to slice off the very tip of my finger and fingernail cleaning one of them. I was truly impressed and highly recommend them!
Great knives and the service and speed of delivery was just as promised. I gave these as a gift to a friend for Christmas and they were a big hit. The sharpness of the ceramic blades is just too much to believe. The lightness of the knife and the ease with which it cuts course vegetables and fruits is amazing. I recommend the Kyocera knives without reservation, having used them for over ten years myself. BUT don’t drop them on a tile floor of they will shatter. Great knives but they need to be used and protected from shattering or chipping when they hit against hard surfaces.
I purchased my first set of Kyocera knives approximately 20 years ago. They are still going strong. However, I wanted to replace some of my other knives, so I purchased this set. The knives are ever so sharp and comfortable to use. I will purchase additional sets and give as gifts. Kyocera knives are all I now use.
Read tons of reviews before making this purchase. These knives arrived and I was so excited. There was a problem with how sharp the smaller knives were, I contacted Amazon and was promptly sent a new set, which solved the issue. All of the knives are extremely sharp. I must have gotten a bad batch the first time. Ceramic blades are so sharp and cut through most anything like butter. I will definitely purchase this brand again. If you read tons of reviews like I do, stop here, you won’t be disappointed.
Great knives, but no blade protectors/covers. Purchased several CK sets in past, all came with some kind of blade protectors.
We had a 2-piece Kyocera set stolen from our RV. We immediately replaced them (and added another). Super-sharp and easy to clean! We’re hooked on these knives (we have a 3-piece set at home as well).
awesome knives, great set. lightweight and still very strong. I had bought one with a coupon years ago, and hoped for a set like this. Will probably keep being great for a lifetime, unless you do something crazy for a ceramic knife, like cut a frozen corn cob, or try cutting through bone. I also bought the wooden knife block for extra protection.
