After doing some extensive research on what cabinet would work best for my Quilter Superblock UK I decided on this one considering the cost and the quality. I was not disappointed! The Laney Cub 112 is a great sounding cabinet and I’ve really enjoyed it. The quality of tone when playing clean and overdriven have great clarity. I would certainly purchase this again in the future. If I had some more funds, I would have even considered getting the 2×12 model.
I was using a Bogner mini ecstasy but I couldn’t get it clean enough when needed. I watched some reviews and tried the Laney coupled with an Orange cab I already had. Using it through the 1 Watt option at home I am loving it. It takes pedals really well, very pleased and would recommend. It does go dirty as well on its own, in case that’s what you’re after.
Does what I need but it has a bit of a growl that you need to dial everything in to smooth out if you want a clean tone but on over driven sounds it’s great. Nice and light and since you can stand it on end it takes up a small footprint on stage.
Light weight, lovely and chimey with the gain rolled back, but with great break up with gain up high.
Boost function flexible and useful, shame that I had to buy the footswitch separately.
Lovely genuine valve sensitivity and Laney quality at an amazing price!
I can only really echo what others have said here (and elsewhere)/ I did a hell of a lot of research before going for this amp, as I have had many similarly spec’d amps that have, quite frankly, not been the answer. This one most definitely is the answer – especially if you’re looking for something of this wattage that you can actually use at home without blowing your windows out or p*ssing off other residents/neighbours! In fact, it was the 1-watt channel option that sealed the deal for me, and it works even better than I was hoping. I took advantage of a Boxing Day deal on the Laney 1×12 cabinet, which again is better than I was expecting. Build quality of amp head and cabinet is excellent, and the sound is to die for. Lovely warm, clean tones, and a few turns here and there gets things breaking up beautifully. (AND it has an FX loop!. AND superb built-in reverb). The built-in boost is another bonus, and all combined you have a huge amount of tonal options to select from the pallete on offer by fiddling and twiddling with the various knobs. For the money, I can’t think of anything better.
I bought this tube amplifier to begin to explore tube amp sounds/tones again after about 40 years hiatus using only solid state amplifiers. I can say with certainty I have not been disappointed. The Laney Cub Super 12 is super easy to use and understand how to change the tones one gets from this little marvel. I have even gone so far as to upgrade to their 2×12 cabinet for this model and it makes it only sound better/bigger. I would certainly advise anyone looking for tube amp sound quality to investigate this little gem….you will be happy you did!
Great speaker, typical Laney quality. Lovely bright sound.
Relatively lightweight, I carry it in a large bag for life from a well known Sports retailer making it easily transportable.
Note, I did have to return the original order as the speaker and box it came in were damaged but was replaced with no problems
I have been looking for ages for a no nonsense simple all valve guitar amplifier with an fx loop and built in reverb. This Laney fits the bill to perfection. I have it connected to a 1 x 12 cabinet with a Celestion Vintage 30 speaker and it sounds sublime. The full 15 watts is good enough for small gigs and can be miked up to the PA for bigger halls. The 1 watt setting is great for the studio. Having the built in boost gives the opportunity to get a wide range of tones by balancing the boost, gain and master volume. The amp has good clean headroom and matches up well with fx pedals. I have owned lots of amps such as Marshall, a number of Fenders, Peavey, Bognor, Hughes & Kettner etc. and this Laney is up there with the best. Great value for money and a great sound.
It brings back memories from the late 60′ s early 70’s it was a cracking amp then plus if it’s good enough for Sabbath enough said ah my old 4, 4×12’s, 2 reflex bass bins 2×15’s and 2 midrange horns happy days eh
Really nice little single Chanel amp. Smart looking, but Fairly dinky for a 12″ speaker.
I bought this for home practice. It’s a bit too big really, but on the 1w input and with either the gain or volume fairly low, I can get a pretty big sound without annoying the neighbours.

Super fast delivery and very well packaged. Also, it’s a fantastic amp, thank you.
Home practice. I like the tone and the flexibility of the laney amp
Absolutely amazing amp. I’ve owned many apps over the years and this one is definitely a keeper.
Sounds like pure sweet awesomeness

Open back design so big bass but lots of clarity still, really lightweight and compact. Only thing to improve it would be if it had a carry handle.
