I’ve had a quite a few lawnmowers in my time, this has got to be the easiest and best value so far. It comes with a handy strimmer and is light enough for my wife (with arthritis) and me (with sciatica) to handle. Thanks for a great package
Great lawn mower but the assembly does need two people.
Attaching the two orange tops to the handle can be taxing as the threads on the bolt are not the best.
Great for my small lawn. Because it floats on air it is really light to use, no bad back. Use regular to keep grass short no effort required.
Mows the lawn in one sweep and stores away easily
Easy to put together, Light and Quiet, Great neat and tidy cut lawn, Love my New Mower am glad I chose this..GREAT PRICE TO..
It does the job fine, it’s a bit plasticy, if that’s a word, and if I’d spent 10 more I could have had the more solid flymo and probably should have, as my biggest complaint is unlike the flymo, you have to completely dismantle the handles to fold it away, which is a bit of a pain to say the least. If you’ve got the extra 10 my advice is to go for the compact flymo.
The mower works well. However the design to enable the handle to fold is poor and lack of integral hooks to wrap the cable around after use is a deficiency.
It works and cuts well but it’s not that great to manoeuvre I have to say
All good for me, but, I have been using hover mowers for many years. They don`t suit everyone like every thing else.
IT is OK but a very disappointing mower to use !!
Have electric cylinder, mower which i sfine when grass is quite short but as soon as gets a bit long eg. after holiday away or start of season first few cuts, it doesn’t cope too well. This hover mower has met our needs completely, so pleased with purchase.
Really happy with this lawnmower, it’s very easy to use and gives a really good cut, cut height can be adjusted with attachments that go under the blade. It’s great value for money
Having used a Flymo all of the time I was very disappointed when my last Flymo’s ring came out of the top where the spindle for the motor was. It became that bad the guard for the ball bearings became visible. This began to break up and it snapped causing the ball bearings to come out. Eventually it lost that many it effected the way that it worked to a stage where the motor would not spin any more. This was a month after it’s 2 year warranty expired.
This unit on the other hand has a cap that screws over to protect the motors spindles ball bearings. It is very easy to move and cuts the grass even better than the Flymo. Adding to that, it picks up the grass a damn sight better than the Flymo too. It takes less moving of the mower and picks up the cut grass straight away making it a dream to use. Flymo have missed a trick by not putting a simple cap over the top to protect their motors spindle and its components. If it happens to your Flymo its a case of you buying a new motor and for the price of a new motor, you might as well buy a new unit as the motors are very expensive. The shop that repairs lawn mowers told me that this is a regular occurrence with Flymo’s and happens to most of the Flymo units. I was advised to stay away from a hover type of lawn mower due to this flaw with their design, but this company has taken notice about the flaw and have addressed it, so that their units work perfectly.
So far so good. Used it twice. Set up was easy, the bolt for the spacers was a bit tricky to budge, I had to use WD40. Good size grass box and nice and light weight. It left quite a lot of grass cuttings compared to my previous Flymo hence only 4 stars
I only have a small patch of lawn so this mower is perfect. With a small lawn the ability to strafe the mower (move it sideways, only possible with hover mowers) trumps a larger bag size
This mower was relatively easy to assemble but took a little time. The manual is actually quite innovative. It has your standard pages of text-based content in terms of what to do, but at the back are all the ‘figs’ (images of assembly, e.g: “figure 1”). The back sheet of figs folds out long-ways so you can reference it whilst also reading the main manual’s content. Might seem like a small thing but made assembly a breeze
The manual shows that the mower comes with three spacers for adjusting cut height. When you first look at the adjustment / blade-removal spanner you might be confused, as it ‘appears’ to only have one spacer. Rest assured you get all three!
The single spacer on the spanner is actually two snapped together, so there’s one and two. The third one is actually inside of the mower and you need to remove the blade assembly to take it out
This mower is a hover mower, but I’d still recommend running it with NO spacers. As the grass compartment fills it gets heavier and rides slightly lower, so be sure to remove the spacer which is pre-installed in the mower. Adding spacers makes the cut lower (shorter) and removing spacers makes the cut higher (longer grass)
For the price you can’t really argue. Blades are great, small grass compartment can store a surprising amount. Easy to assemble, a breeze to use
Light as a feather, can be lifted even with one arm
Really good. I needed something lighter and easy to move about as I’m getting a bit older.
This fits the bil spot on.
Halved the time that my old push rotary took and was easier to move. Grass collection is very good, no throwing out clippings to the side.
Easy to set the height although I’ll stay on the shortest from now on.
The front wheels for moving it around when not mowing could be a bit more prominent to make it easier but not really a problem as it’s so light
Really pleased with performance.
My Flymo went bang overwinter when this came up, I was tossing up between a Flymo EasiGlide Plus which retails at 150 if you are lucky and this one that’s 120.
30 difference in the day and age is huge.
Comes already built just with the handle folded over. This is much better then Flymo where you need to assemble some bits together.
Build quality, well it flexes a little when you twist it but you cant really complain at this price.
Its nice and lightweight, when turned on it makes it more or less weightless on the lawn. You’ll be able to tell when the box is full cause it wont be so easy.
1500w will mean that you cant go chopping down forests but if you are good rutting the lawn every other week then you wont have a problem with this.
Handle is just what you would find on a flymo, pull lever, press button to start.
4 cutting heights, i’ve left mine on 2nd from lowest and it seams to be the right length for spring.
Collection bag works quite well and sucks up about the same as my old Flymo did.
Nice little buy
I quite like cutting grass but my trusty (and rather aged) Flymo was retired and recycled at the end of last year. I tried this newer (and slightly larger) Flymo on my lawn a couple of weeks ago for the first cut of the year and it did really well. The grass collector is a decent size so I now empty it less and it’s really easy to clean. It’s all pretty effortless and I was done in a little over an hour (it’s quite a big garden). No grass cuttings needed raking up and it did fairly well along the edges, although I finished off with the strimmer. All in all, I’m quite happy and would recommend it.
The mower was reasonably easy to assemble. I likes how easily the handle folded back for ease of storage.
The machine is lighter than my previous machine of comparable size. The grass box cover is made with thin plastic and I don’t think it is a very good fit. The mower is meant to hover as it cuts but I don’t think my grass is flat enough. I think any machine would struggle on my lawn. Again because of the nature of my grass it is not that easy to push. The motor speed stayed constant as the length and thickness of the grass varied.
A good enough machine, but it does not stand out in a crowd.
Easily assembled, I was mowing withing twenty minutes.
It has a little roller on the front which helps in dragging it about, and works best on a level patch of grass.
On a slope it veers of a straight line and behaves like a cheap car on ice.
Good value, and very easy to empty to grass collection box.
The tool to fit the spacers for a closer cut attaches to the frame, but there is nowhere to wind the wire onto. other then around the handle.
LawnMaster 1500W electric hover lawn mower with grass collection box and 33cm cutting width, ideal for small to medium sized lawn, 2 year guarantee
In the box.
The mower with easy folding handle, grass box, fixed able and instructions. It comes with a replaceable fixed blade which is reversable. It has a hight adjuster. You also get a 2 year manufactures guarantee.
Set up.
It is ready assembled and the handle folds up very easily. Just plug it in and you are4 ready to go. You will probably need an extension lead as the lead is no long enough unless you have an outside plug.
In use.
It is light to use and the grass box holds a lot of grass. It is easy to remove and replace. It does a good job. We gave our lawn a light cut on the minimum setting. It gave an even cuit and dropped no grass. It is easy to manoeuvre and quiet in operation. The folding handle makes it easy t0 store.
Overall.
It is nicely designed and made. Operation is easy and it does a great job cutting the lawn. It is a bit expensive compared to other models out there. However, I think it will last well.
Amazing that I’ve got to my late 50’s and never used a hover mower in my life, but there you have it. This is my first experience with a hover-mover.
Assembly was simple enough, a lower handle to screw into place, followed by an upper handle wicch locks in place with large wing-nut handles, which undo to allow the handle to be folded over the mower for storage. I’m a little over 6’4″ and I found I didn’t have to stoop to use the mower, thanks in part to the ample play (by design not poor materials) of the handle. It adjusts to the height of the user automatically, without you having to think about it. You can adjust the height of the cut with spacers, and 4 cut lengths are available. 33mm (no spacer), 26mm (as supplied with one spacer fitted) and 19mm & 12mm with two or all three of the supplied spacers in use.
If you have a very smooth and flat lawn, this mower is going to glide over it like an air-hockey puck. I found on the one or two flat areas on my front lawn, the mower suddenly got some wind in its sails and became very light to manoeuvre around. However, a lot of my little lawn is quite uneven, and so the front rollers proved very useful for ensuring I could move the mower around without digging into the lawn.
That said, with the 26mm setting used, I found it cut my lawn pretty well, and picked up cuttings reasonably well, though nowhere near as well as my existing roller-mower, which really seems to vacuum up cuttings. Nonetheless, it did a pretty decent job and the grass-box is easy to remove and empty. I found the electric cord was a bit short for my needs, and I needed to use my extension lead with the mower, but at 10m, it’s actually a fairly decent length.
Build quality is unremarkable, in that it’s what you’d expect at this price point: Nothing unpleasant, nothing badly-fitting, but no “Ooh! That’s good!” moments either. I’m pleased to say there were no unpleasant motor-related smells, or any unpleasant vibration, which bodes well for longevity.
I can’t say I’m going to swap from wheeled mowers to hover mowers, but I could certainly live with this hover mower.
I received this electric hover lawnmower through the Amazon vine program
This is a reasonable all round electric hover lawnmower, nice and light weight easy too assemble and looks too be well made
I have used it on our lawn and adjusted the cutting length by using the adjustable spacers on the blade this I found works quite well, as you do get a plastic spanner for this purpose,
Like most electrical appliances you do have a lock button to press before you can start it
It runs reasonably quite for a hover mower and has a good cutting width (33cm ) and a good length of electrical cable (10 m ) which is very good
The grass collection box is a decent size and easy to empty as it just lift’s out
So on the whole a good electric hover lawnmower with
1500 W motor, 4 Cutting Heights , Easy to Fold and Store
I hope you found this review helpful
I found the LawnMaster hover lawn mower easy to move around on my lawn. It was nice not to be constrained by the direction the wheels are pointing like when I’m using other mowers. It’s good for a small lawn, like mine, where there isn’t too much to do.
Turning on the mower seemed more difficult than it should be as the foam rubber grips on the handle were a bit in the way of the orange power handles. I had to make sure I was squeezing enough to allow the lawn mower to run.
The mower itself feels like it has plenty of power although it didn’t catch everything on the first pass. As a result, I found that I frequently needed to go over the same areas more than once. The collection box worked well, it just needs emptying frequently as it doesn’t hold a huge amount. The mower has window to see just how full it is so it’s easy to keep an eye on it.
I used the highest cutting height, 3cm, and it seemed to be the appropriate height for me. It’s easy to adjust down if needed using the included tools and spacers.
All things considered, the mower works well and is easy to store when folded down. I’m happy with it and hope it provides many years of service.
