The interconnections of moving parts on the model was a delight to child, parents and grandparents. 8yr managed with just a little help.
Great build to keep the kids focused and quite for a bit and they got a real sense of achievement once completed. They enjoy playing with it to and seeing the moving parts.

Got this build with my son and it was enjoyed by us both.
The whole build took us over 2 hours although we did make a few mistakes as I failed to read the clear instructions provided..

When I was younger, Technic was a step above my meagre building abilities. While Lego was fun and imaginative and all about creating my own escapist world, Technic felt like School. Now that I’m older I can appreciate the work and skill which goes into creating these products, and the sense of accomplishment which comes with building one.
To get the obvious questions out of the way – no, don’t try to use this on water or launch it out of a window. The propellers and fans are for show only, spinning as you manually push the thing. This has great value for money being both a hovercraft and an airplane, depending on how you build it. Even after building one, it doesn’t take too much effort to switch to the other, and not additional parts are required. Both craft are impressively made and look great, and the moving parts inspire a sense of achievement and may give your child a love of construction and engineering, the set building confidence in your child as they realise and see what they have been able to build. we love these 2 in 1 sets, they are a great challenge to build and once up you can either keep it as your favouite model. in our case the plane has been displayed in all of its glory! the hovercraft felt harder to build but was still completed in a couple of hours. a great set to challenge a lego lover.

This 2 in 1 set can be used to make a hovercraft or a plane. The set contains printed instructions for the hovercraft but the plane instructions are digital only. The hovercraft took our 7 year old about 2-3 hours to make- broken up onto smaller ‘concentration friendly’ chunks of time across a day, but he is just under the recommended age for technic so we weren’t surprised he needed a little support to make this. Some of the pieces were a little stiff and he needed an adult to fit these for him. Once made he absolutely loved the set. The hovercraft has a pair of wheels underneath that allows the craft to be pushed across the floor easily- as these wheels turns they makes the two fans at the back rotate, through a series of gears. There is also a yoke style steering column for a minifigure to steer with- if you turn it then it turns wheels under the craft to control movement, but also alters the direction of the two fans at the back of the craft (to simulate the reason for the craft turning). He loved seeing how the gears interacted with each other and try to work out what they would turn on the completed model. This is a lovely technic set- probably best as an introduction to the more complex technical models. Recommended.
I love the Lego Technic range and this hovercraft set is no exception. The Lego 42120 is a 2 in 1 set, which means you can build an aircraft and a hovercraft from the 457 pieces that are included in this kit. Like all the 2 in 1 sets, you can only build one at a time, which is great as I love to dismantle and rebuild.
The rear fans and warning light move when the hovercraft is steered along. This is an amazing feature and the aircraft has moving rudders. I would say that this is for intermediate Lego builders.

Endlich wieder einmal ein Set mit Technic-Funktionen und B-Model.
Mir gefllt, wie die Steuerung und der “Antrieb” beim Bau ineinander fliessen und sich gleichzeitig auch noch die Lichter drehen.
Das Boot fhrt auf dem Boden und kann gesteuert werden, schwimmt aber nicht.
Nach den (lizenzierten) Auto-Gurken von 2021 (unterirdischer Ferarri, Buggy fr gefhlt EUR 50 pro Teil, Jeep Wrangler mit gerade einmal zwei Zahnrdern, Monster Trucks mit zu kleinen Reifen, lediglich der Senna ist okay) erhlt man hier ein Set, das sich endlich wieder einmal wie Technic anfhlt. Ein frischer Wind im Tal der Finsternis.
Einige neue Teile sind auch dabei. Aber auch hier zeichnet sich ein Trend ab, zur Dekoration klassische Lego-Teile zu verwenden. Man kann es mgen oder nicht.
Fr EUR 20 kann bedenkenlos zugeschlagen werden, sofern man Lego-Technic-Sets erwgt und lieber Funktionen als Lizenzen und Handy-Schnick-Schnack hat.

Dependent on competency and dedication of the person who will build this, you are looking around 1+ hour.. The resulting finished set is good as a set piece for playing with by appropriate interested individual. We all love our Lego me included. Its nice attention to detail, quality Lego toy and for the appropriate individual this is sure to please. Lego is not cheap but what you get in return is nice quality product. There is the alternate construction rebuild available to turn this into twin-engine aircraft. For the appropriate individual this is either a nice finished item for display or for play once built.

This is a bit different from the usual LEGO sets. Part of the Technic range, your first objective is to make a rescue hovercraft. Put it together right and you’ll have turning fans, rotating lights but it doesn’t go on water, so don’t even think about it. When you’ve accomplished that task (or decided to disassemble it), you can use the pieces to turn the hovercraft into a twin engine aircraft. Not only that, the rudder and ailerons move.
Because it’s part of the Technic series and therefore aimed at slightly older users, any younger experienced LEGO users will also get plenty of enjoyment from this ‘2 in 1’ set.

My Lego obsessed son is so impressed with this! He makes the items with his dad as adult supervision is recommended as he’s a bit younger than recommmended age but he still loves it!
Lego Technic has always fascinated me – I wanted more of it as a child, and now am indulging myself whilst pretending it is for my kid!
This is a great set, and represents surprisingly good value for this notoriously expensive line. In part that is because the moving parts are quite simple – just the fans and steering on the hovercraft, and the ailerons and undercarriage on the plane. Still, the mechanics of putting together the gears etc is wonderful, and this is a great introduction to the Technics world at a reasonable price. Recommended!
A cracking good 2in1 model rescue hovercraft to aircraft toy suitable for girls and boys aged 8 plus . We have one stationed in the bay near us so our grandson particularly was looking forward to putting this together . Not only is it a lifelike rescue hovercraft it turns into a twin engine aircraft with moving rudders , turning fans , cockpit and rotating warning light . A fabulous looking model and great fun to put together , comes with the usual LEGO excellent clear instruction booklet . This would make an unusual birthday present .

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow.
This set has a number of cool features. As the hovercraft when moved the fans rotate along with the warning lights. As the aircraft the blades rotate and it has moving rudders and ailerons.
