As a big McLaren fan I knew I’d love this and I wasn’t disappointed. It took many hours to build and now it sits in a prime position atop a display cabinet. It is fairly large so wouldn’t fit inside it due to the width.
I got this for my partner when he had to isolate due to covid and being a mechanic where he also likes to put his mind to things was perfect in keeping him occupied whilst having to isolate. My partner is very outgoing so doing something to entertain his interest in cars and putting his mind to working things out turned out great for him and the finished project is of good quality being placed as a ornamental feature in our home

I bought this for my husband’s Christmas present and we’ve both been really pleased with it. It proved a great source of entertainment between Christmas and New Year. We were both really impressed with how detailed it is. The mechanism functions properly, meaning the steering wheel is connected to the front wheels of the car. Will definitely buy more lego technic models in future.
Brought this model for my son who is recovering from an injury and he is throughly enjoying building it. The instructions are easy to follow some parts are trickier than others but that’s what makes it more enjoyable for him as a project. Great size model as well.

La bote est bien arrive scelle. Malheureusement elle est defoncee je voulais la monter donc je vais la garder vu que je l’ai eu prix flash mais je suis vert car la bote fait partie du prix et de la collection 🙁 heureusement que ce n’tait pas pour offrir.

Super cadeau mais dommage pour la bote. Il faut savoir que les bote de lego ont de la valeur galement, or la bote est arriv abm, avec une tiquette coll dessus gchent du coup la bote.

So the dining table became an F1 car assembly area for a couple of days
The detail is incredible – build the diff, engine and the chassis, the suspension is a work of art – bit tricky to assemble and be careful any mistakes during this stage add to the fun!
Overall the model is large – great fun to assemble, now has prode of place amongst the collection!
Ennesimo capolavoro LEGO. La costruzione non complicatissima ma come per tutti i LEGO bisogna avere molta pazienza nell’applicazione degli adesivi. Il risultato finale fantastico:la somiglianza con la vettura della F1 impressionante. Come da titolo un’opera d’arte di 65 cm.
I brought this back in March ahead of the latest F1 season. It took my two weeks and four days to completed it in stages by following the instructions carefully. I really liked how the way the Lego mechanical components move the pistons up and down while moving forwards and backwards plus how accurate the steering to the front of the car from right to left.
Can’t wait to give this to my boyfriend for his birthday, he has already made the Ghostbusters car. It’s great because I can read as he plays about building it.
This is a great Lego kit, some pieces are quite complicated but the instructions are easy to follow and makes an impressive model – My son was delighted and spent three days constructing it.

He loves it and built it almost straight away. He said it wasnt easy but he enjoyed building it. Its defo adult age Lego.
He said if Lego bring out another F1 team logo he’ll buy it himself with a view to making a full collection of them eventually.

Ordered this last Saturday and arrived the next day.
This was my first Lego technic build and only took me 4 days to complete and the instructions were easy to follow and the end product was very satisfying.
I’m a big f1/McLaren fan and this is fantastic model car. Just now have to find a display case that fits the large size of this car.

Mir hat der Aufbau trotz der (zu) vielen Sticker richtig Spa gemacht. Es ist vielleicht kein Modell fr echte Technic-Freaks, aber im Regal ist es nicht zuletzt wegen der beeindruckenden Gre und der aufflligen Farbe ein echter Hingucker. Bei einem guten Angebot durchaus zu empfehlen.

Was most worried about what “reduced packaging” meant. Need not have been (certainly for this item) as is the box in what can only be described as a pizza box. So win!

Sieht echt toll aus.
Nur das wir jetzt seit Dienstag 3 x bei Lego angerufen haben und Teile nachbestellen mussten.
Da das Auto ja schon fast fertig ist, ist es schon deprimierend wenn Teile fehlen.
Aber so sieht es echt toll aus.
Nur der Preis ist echt schon sehr hoch gegriffen.
Ich wei Lizenzen u.s.w, u.s.w. egal die Freude unseres Juniors war das beste.

It’s been a good year so far for Lego. I’ve had a fallow couple of years other than the brilliant 1989 editions of the Batmobile and Batmwing, but March 2022 saw a number of excellent models land and the recently announced Back to the Future DeLorean still to come.
And of all of the releases so far this year, it’s the McLaren 2022 F1 car that I looked forward to the most and also the one that I’ve ultimately got the most enjoyment out of. As a lifelong F1 nut, and supporter of the McLaren F1 team, I was excited about this model from the moment Lando and Danny Ric unveiled it across social media a few months back. Excitement rose as F1 testing began and the new season approached.
There was a lot of interest around the model as it is marketted as the 2022 car, and at the time of the unveiling no one knew what the new cars were going to look like under the new regulations for this year, and the liveries also hadn’t been released. Shortly after the unveiling of the Lego model, McLaren presented their 2022 car to the world….and it looks very little like the Lego model at all! The real 2022 livery is very different to the Lego model, and the shape of the components on the cars are ver different too. It’s not that the Lego model is a poor representation, because as you can see in the photos I’ve attached to this review the model is a very accurate representation of the 2021 McLaren F1 car. In fact, it’s a fantastic replica of it. I love it to bits. It’s just not the 2022 car as promised on the box. For that reason alone, the product loses a star in my review.
But, on all other metrics, I adore this Lego model. It isn’t as challenging, or perhaps as detailed, as some Technic Lego sets, but it all works well and looks so good. At 160 RRP it’s not cheap, but it’s around the right sort of level of similar Lego models. The build time was around 6 hours. You get four numbered sets of bags. Each set has 2-3 bags taking around an hour and a half each. The instructions were pretty clear and I only went wrong once through not paying enough attention..
If I have a criticism of the build it’s that there are a lot of stickers. I’ve been vocal about my dislike of stickers on Lego sets in the past, and this must be one of the biggest culprits, but given that a real F1 car is festooned with stickers I can’t really criticise it here can I?
The finished model is brilliant though. I think it looks incredible, and I’ve mounted it vertically on the wall behind my office desk so it’s on all of my work video calls and causes much discussion. It’s on the wall primarily because I’ve run out of shelf space now! It’s a highly recommended Lego model, if you can find one. I bought mine from another vendor on release day as Amazon didn’t appear to have it on their site at the time. It appeared shortly after I’d picked my set up, otherwise I’d have bought it from Amazon.

Der grte Kritikpunkt besteht ja darin, dass gesagt wird, dass der Wagen nicht wie der 2022 McLaren aussieht. Ist auch korrekt. Aber auf der ersten Seite der Anleitung sieht man das “2022” Modell von McLaren und daneben das Lego Modell. Von dieser Vorlage aus, hat es der Designer gut getroffen. McLaren hat einfach auf das “Standard” 22 Modell die 2021 Lackierung gezogen und an Lego weitergegeben. Klar htte Lego auch das Modell 2-3 Monate spter bringen knnen was dann nher am richtigen Auto gelegen htte. So wollte man wahrscheinlich den Saisonstart mitnehmen und dachte so verkauft man mehr, was wei ich.
Die Reifen gefallen mir auch nicht 100 prozentig. Hat Lego keine breiteren Reifen fr hinten im Sortiment? und vor allem Slick Reifen, so sind auf dem Auto heavy wet Reifen.
Preis
180 Euro ist halt bertrieben teuer, aber das betrifft wirklich jeden Formel1 Merchandise. Ich denke McLaren wird da auch einiges mitverdienen. 50 Euro knnte es schon billiger sein, wenn es den Land Rover Defender mittlerweile fr 130 gibt.
Funktionen
Die Aufhngungen sind cool, dann luft noch ein 6 Zylinder Motor mit, das wars. Aber was htte denn noch mit reinsollen? Vielleicht ein Getriebe, oder ein funktionierendes DRS System wre cool gewesen
Aufbau
Als Kind habe ich viel mit Lego gespielt, aber nach fast 30 Jahren ein Set zusammenbauen hab ich mir am anfang doch etwas schwer getan. Der Held der Steine hat es in 2-3 Stunden aufgebaut, ich habe glaub fast 10 Stunden gebraucht 😀
Am Ende steht ein beindruckend groes F1 Auto vor einem.
Ich geb dem ganzen trotzdem 4 Sterne. Wenn man wei dass es jetzt nicht am originalen Auto dran ist und es sich trotzdem kauft, kann man sich ja net spter drber beschweren und der Preis ist leider viel zu hoch. ber fehlende Technik Funktionen kann man sich auch streiten. Wie oben erwhnt htte man sicherlich 1-2 Sachen mehr einbauen knnen, aber am Ende steht das Auto ja doch nur in einer Vitrine oder Schaukasten.

Jttekul. Tog ca 15 timmar, frsta stora legobygget jag gjort. Otroligt tillfredstllande att se bilen ta form. Vldigt bra instruktioner, var endast frvirrad en gng och det var mitt eget fel. Synd att det inte finns fler F1-bilar att bygga!
Jag streck byggde i 12 timmar fr att bygga klart den s fort jag ppnade paketet va jag fast. Grymt snygg hftigt med rrliga dela. nskar dock att det skulle finnas mjlighet till andra lag och ven fler uppsttningar dck utver wets! Typ soft ocks s hade denna produkt ftt 5/5
