Great bright light for a bathroom but as other reviewers have mentioned the fitting system is not good on a textured ceiling, I had to fit a spacer between the bracket and the ceiling before the lamp would attach to it.
Light arrived on bang on time great stuff. Gives a very good bright light absolutely fine for our downstairs shower room worthy of five strs but there is a little humming noise which merits 1/2 star being taken off. Other than tht Well pleased
Needed to upgrade my ’70s globe light in the bathroom, so bought this. It looks sleek and slimline, but it is a pig to fit. Very fiddly, so if you don’t have much patience, or your neck/back won’t handle an hour craning up at the ceiling- avoid. It is very bright, too bright for an average bathroom, better suited to a medium sized kitchen. It ranks ‘F’ on the eco scale, one up from the bottom, so not very eco friendly. But hey, it looks good, and if I have to don my sunglasses to use the bathroom at night after switching on, so be it!
I needed a waterproof (bathroom) light and this was at a reasonable price. The ‘bulb’ cannot be replaced so it is disposable which I don’t like, but it should run for a good while. I did have a little difficulty fitting it to an artex ceiling, but a couple of spacers sorted that. It is working well, no problems, and at a good price. Very pleased.
Super bright but could do with a bigger pocket for cable routing
The cable pocket space is very narrow and shallow, does not give much room for chock blocks or wago’s
its a tight squeeze when there are more than the usual 2 cables
I bought two of these for my dark windowless L shaped hallway and I’m amazed at how powerful the strength of the light is coming from them. It’s literally like having real daylight in the house. At 15Ws I can have them on all day and not notice anything extra on my energy bills. I can definitely recommend this product.
Bought one these as a single light to replace 7 old spotlights in a bathroom. It’s made of plastic and not heavy so could just screw the mounting plate directly into ceiling plasterboard. Easy to wire in due to screwless wiring terminals. Whole installation took about 10 minutes. Very easy to fit. Quality of the light is very good and even. Nice, white and bright, easily lights the whole room (approx 4m x 2m). I bought another for a second bathroom. Good value for money. The only negative is it is not rated super high efficiency but still way better than halogens or traditional bulbs.
It is easy to install and very bright, not only lights up the bathroom but the garden too, first few times I thought it was the security light coming on in the garden, then realised it was the bathroom light.
It’s early days as I only installed this last night but here are my thoughts.
One important point to note is that the details for this on Amazon has measurements in CM. They’re actually Inches.
Installation was straight forward and, for the small bathroom where fitted, this is more than bright enough. In fact, I’d say it’s so bright, I can now see the decorating that needs doing…more work to do…
I’ve replaced an exiting spotlight. As another reviewer pointed out, you need sufficient wire to reach the fitting. It was fine for me but I could imagine that some people might need to extend, if replacing an existing fitting that had a short wire.
The fitting clamps to the wires rather than screws. This makes it apparently simple, I guess, but I prefer the screw type, especially when you have four wires to try and connect.
It seems to have instructions / fittings for wood or brick, but not plasterboard. Odd. I used some plasterboard fixings and simply screwed it in to those.
This was not a difficult job to do and the light seems well engineered for the money.
This is a good looking and bright light fitting. The reason for the four stars is that there isn’t much room to hide incoming cables if there are more than one.
I couldn’t find a decent review which deals with all the points an Amazon’s permissions are too invasive for video and pics, unfortunately.
The sealed lamp unit comes with rawl plugs and screws. All screws have Philips heads.
In order to refit the electrical casing cover (which gives if the IP66 rating), at least 6″ or 150mm of wire is needed. The lamp could have been much better engineered to make it easier and need a smaller length of wire. It can be connected when wire length is only 100mm but it is harder and the IP66 cover may also be difficult to refit. The IP66 rating is dependant on wires making an effective seal with the cover. If they do not, then an IP32 rating is more accurate.
The mounting bracket mechanism is poorly engineered. It should be push rather than pull lugs but reasons for removing the lamp are decorating (properly) or replacement.
The lamp gives a strong white light. For those who don’t know, think of the whitest LED car headlamps. It outperforms my 28watt CFL bathroom lamp. First impressions of the light are it is nearer a 150watt bulb but the CRI means the luminosity is really 100watts. I judge the flicker to be less than my CFL bathroom lamp so the voltage rectification and smoothing is quite good. Do be aware that it will give people a rather pasty complexion rather than a healthy one.
How long it lasts is a big question. The quality of semi conductors is a major factor as is the fact that most consumer LEDs are overdriven (too much voltage and hence current) which means too much heat which reduces lifetime to a fraction of the advertised which is best case scenario of constant use which discounts early and mid life failure units. Advertising LED lifetime is one of the biggest marketing cons because the is no regulation of real world usage conditions. I hope people update with failure data to be realistic though.
In short, it seems good but cannot be any more than that.
Personally I would have preferred a bit softer light for the bathroom, but there it is – I really don’t know about easy to install or efficiency – but the electrician came to do it – seemed to find it straightforward and it seems to work perfectly.
This light is amazing! Ordered on a Sunday, delivered on a Monday and I fitted on Tuesday in 10 mins. Seriously bright white light which has transformed my home office. Very low profile design which sits nice and close to ceiling. One thing to mention is obviously only a live and neutral so if you are replacing a standard ceiling rose just make the live loop connections in a wago connector or a bit of choc block. As a builder this was quite obvious to me but reading the reviews a few people seem to be a bit confused. I just made a slightly bigger hole in ceiling so these connections could tuck up in ceiling and just bring out a live and neutral. Even the bracket fitted to the same screw holes as the old rose and then the new light just clips on to this.
I can’t comment on the realisability of this light yet but pretty confident it will be good-
So this light has been installed for a few weeks now and its working very well.
Most important at the moment is that energy use is low, but brightness is good !
I decided to purchase this as I needed to replace the light in my utility room as the old light was one of these that requires 3 GU10 LED bulbs and they kept failing and at a few pounds a bulb it was getting costly, I figured that investing in a 15 LED light would be cheaper over time.
If your good with DIY and electrics then you should have no problem installing this light, if you have never done it before then maybe best to get an electrician to do it for you.
This new 15 watt light is very bright, a lot brighter than my old light with 3 x GU10 bulbs in it.
The power connector is a bit fiddley, and the manual does not do a good job on how to connect it up, you press the plastic bits down to open the connector inside and you slide the wires in then you let go and this grips the cable inside the connector. I guess this is some sort of improvement instead of using standard screw terminals ! anyway it works well, once you get passed that bit.
I aim to get some more of these lights to replace other lights in my house later this year.
Item appears robust and well-made. Gives out very bright light. I’m pleased so far with it. Two points to note:
1. The bulb is not removable/replaceable, so when the bulb eventually fails, you’ll have to replace the entire product.
2. The unit has a simple pair of terminals and space for single positive and negative wires – it does not include any of the extra connections that a traditional ceiling light fitting includes (loop to switch, earth etc), nor does it have space for any of those things. So you’ll need a separate junction box and that will have to be recessed into the ceiling or mounted somewhere else.
Bought and fitted this in my Brothers Kitchen. The light is small and neat very bright so all good. Installation is just using 2 core wires inserted into a toolless clip connectors, the only problem with that is if you have any connector blocks as we did, there not much room to incorporate these in the light and it was problematic trying to get this sorted, so as to get the light to fit flush into its bracket. The lens seems sealed to the light. Looked nice and surprisingly bright in a small 10ft by 12-foot Kitchen. Good value for the money but consider your connections before purchase.
Excellent bright LED light for my 2.5m x 2.5m bathroom, also low profile. My old strip light had two wires looping it with other house lights, so a bit of a problem as the new light will only take one like in the photo, flexible multi strand cable would not be suitable or impossible to insert into the lamp tool less connector. My property is a bungalow, so I was able to gain access above the light to rewire with a round junction box, I used a 30amp one with lots space to add a drop down wire as shown in the photo, job done, very pleased with light. Light design could be changed, but would not be a low profile one. I will buy a spare as the bulb is part of the lamp assembly, sealed for life, hope fully at least 5 plus years?
This is my 3rd light. I purchased 2 soft warm lights for living room and this brighter light for the kitchen. These lights are very well designed and easy to install. They look great too. However on this occasion I feel I have been sent a referbisher light as the box looked like it had been opened and re sealed. The light unit had marks as though it had been taken apart and not put back together correctly and also has debri in the light visible when the light is powered on. This is anoying. Great brand though, and great lightsand a great price. Would definitely use again.
This light was bought as a replacement for my in-laws bathroom light.
It had used 2 bulbs and 2 starters in 18 months at 9 for a bulb and starter quite costly!
This replacement was very close to the fitted size so no painting needed on the ceiling.
Fitting the wiring was very easy with a clip lock wire attachment rather than the usual screw up chock block.
The bracket is well made and solid easily screwed to the ceiling. The lamp then fits by 2 push buttons either side of the light once released it is solidly locked to the bracket brilliant easy design again!
Light wise it is very bright which is excellent.
Highly recommended and I bought this and have no association with the company.
The span of the installation mount is narrow, and therefore was a little trickier than it could have been to install. But other wise, there are good design features to aid in installation.
Mine has a short (quarter second) delay before powering on just FYI
When on its bright pure white light. Probably 5k Kelvi
The light works perfectly well and we’re happy with the results. Our only issue was with the installation process: the light kept popping out of the ceiling unit and it took a few attempts for it to clip together.
This is a terrific and powerfully bright white LED bathroom light. Would happily have given 5 stars or 10/10 if not for the very awkward fittings that made installation a bit of a hack job. Wiring was so tight that I finally gave up and had an electrician complete the job. Light itself looks great and am very impressed with the brightness.
No connections for modern UK wiring. Should have terminals for looped negative so difficult to install. Could be better designed for Sale in Great Britai
Bought for a utility room which is a small enough area.I thought the light looked small but it’s ok when up yet I would pay attention to it’s size depending on where you are putting it as it has the potential to end up looking like a pimple on a larger ceiling. In saying all of that it gives out great light, small and powerful. I have no idea of ease of installation as a trades man did it for me, he had no complaints. Happy with my purchase and I have got used to it’s size.
Read previous reviews in regard to installation and thought those were harsh. BUT, they were correct. Yes the install is straightforward but the positioning of the wiring connectors made it impossible to use the existing wiring from the ceiling. Luckily I ws able to connect a longer cable to the light fitting, replace the capping and then connect the longer cable to the existing wiring with a terminal connector and push this up into the ceiling recess. The light sits very flush to the ceiling and am very hsppy with it. Just be aware of the potential of needing to extend the wiring. There is no space for a terminal connectors inside the light fitting. A revision of he wiring connector in my opinion would make this light a 5 star review.
Perfect size and brightness for a average size bathroom or other similarsize rooms or outbuildings. Slimline design and easy to install. Very pleased with my purchase.
Seems well made.
Reasonably easy to fit in place of previous spot lights.
Casts a bright even light over a wide area, so considering buying more for other rooms.
I’ve bought a number of other LePro items before so when I saw this unit went with it for that reason.
Very simple to install; a simple bracket screws into the ceiling or surface being mounted onto. Connect up the unit unit to power, then simply click the light onto the base. Fast release catches allow it to be removed/reattached very quickly and easily if needed.
Illumination is bright, and more importantly, it’s a well diffused even light that disclose to daylight white in colour temperature.
Overall; Easy to install, bright even illumination, reasonable price. RECOMMENDED
Really bright light. The light fitting is flush to the ceiling so you will need to ensure the wiring can be recessed into the ceiling and you will need some form of connector block for the lighting ring main if typical UK light wiring.
I bought this for my bathroom, where I like to have a ‘blue’ white, daylight vibe, and I’m delighted with it. The design is simple, modern and unobtrusive, and as another review pointed out, there’s a sprung fitting which makes it easy to pop on and off the ceiling for decorating purposes.
I gave it three out of five for installation – I put this up by myself, and wiring this in while managing the waterproof seal was really quite difficult. Find a second pair of competent hands and another ladder if you don’t want to get cross!
I purchased this light for my bathroom. It very bright and is great for a bathroom. I found fitting it a bit fiddly as the buttons on either side you need to push to to locate it on the bracket are difficult to line up. But once fitted it looks and works well.
Wow – so bright! I didn’t realise just how dull our previous light was until we installed this one. In fact, it shows up every bit of dust, cobweb or tired patch of paintwork – I had to repaint my bathroom ceiling! It’s great – you can see yourself in the bathroom mirror very clearly now as the light doesn’t cast shadows. I fully recommend. And the price is great too.
I purchased three of these led lights for my bathroom and the hallway and they work fantastically. However, the latching mechanism is a bit tidious and could be changed to something a bit better. Once you’ve mounted the light though, it looks great.
I read a few reviews and some were complaining about the difficulty to fit this light. It’s honestly not that hard. Being doubly insulated there is no earth and the spring-clip electrical connections (everywhere these days) aren’t huge – so it might be a struggle depending on your wire size. The height your are at when fitting any lights makes a huge difference too. Use a proper sized stepladder and don’t be doing everything at arms reach.
There is nowhere really to put any connection box, so if you are replacing an older light you’ll need to connect up separately and put that in above the light only leaving the L&N coming out of the hole.
Upsides: it’s bright, good looking and cheap.
Downsides: be aware that the rubber ‘cable entry’ comes off with a pull and if you put it on backwards (like I did) the lid won’t fit – just turn it around and you’ll be fine. Also, the (genuinely good) idea of the clipping system that holds it on to the ceiling can only really go in one orientation – due to the cable entry this really limited where I could place the fitting and it ended up being closer to my window than I would have liked – I could have moved it, but it would have meant more faffing around and I was on a time limit. Maybe I’ll go back to it later.
All in: great product and I’d certainly buy again.
Does what you’d expect. I’ve only actually seen the light once.. I was staring at it as the misses turned it on for the first time and I haven’t seen much since that day. I hear its still working which is great news. When my eye sight returns I’ll double check the installation.
Very little tolerance on the fitting the stippling in our ceiling artex was enough to prevent fitment so had to pack out the fitting slightly otherwise very easy to fi
Very bright light – seems well made apart from the mount – just too much slack in the fitting – it’s fitted now and I’ll see how the snap in mount performs –
A Great Bright Light, But Not Easy To Connect To Standard House Wiring.
It is supplied with no wire & tiny push in connectors. To connect to your current ceiling fitting you’ll need 2 core lighting cable & connector blocks.
Once done though it’s a great light. It’s made a big difference in out utility room
This is a decent light for the money, the 1500lm gives out a nice, even, bright light for a medium-sized bathroom. The ‘cool’ colour temperature is more appropriate for a bathroom than the ‘warm’ colour you want for a bedroom or living room.
It’s a bit fiddly to install, but that will always be the case for a close-fitting light near the ceiling. If you have a ladder, some basic tools and basic DIY skills you can do it no problem. Just follow the instructions – yes amazingly there are some instructions included (often not the case with cheap items).
The IP54 rating means you can install it in Zone 2 of a bathroom, and the Class 2 rating is very useful. Of course it’s inexpensive Chinese-made stuff so you can never be totally sure the ratings are truthful.
When I installed this light in our bathroom and switched it on it made me realise that I’d never really noticed how dull the old light was! What a difference! It’s a great light and easy to install. I had a bit of fiddling about trying to get the cables into the contacts, but got there in the end. Thinking of getting another couple for our rather dull staircase, too.
Bad stuff first…….Rubbish instructions……and be warned, the worst connection set up ive ever come across, to fit on you ceiling you have to get enough cable to fit the connecters and they do not have conventional screw fittings.
You have to push down on the plastic fitting which then creates a hole to put your wires in, then let go and hopfully it stays in.
To do all this my tip is connect your cable to the light fitting first, then connect to your power supply, serious pain in the arse, bad design.
Good stuff………very lightweight…….and wow, its like we have been living in the dark for years, its super super bright, its so good, dispite the connection problems I will be buying more of these.
The light is very bright and ideal for my bathroom which has no windows.
Not easy to fit, my ceiling is artexed and because it’s not smooth the quick fixing setup didn’t want to work. I got round the problem by fixing a flat round board to the ceiling but this created extra work.
Ordered for the bathroom. A bit fiddly to install – a third ‘dummy’ connector to tuck the supply cable earth out of the way would help – but looks good once in place. Light output, a cool white, is good without being too bright and is nicely even. A decent purchase.
I don’t like the wire attachment point. This should be improved to be like WAGO lever clips.
Top tip for installing.
If you have a ceiling rose then replace that with WAGO clips.
Use a 10″ piece of new wire connect to light then connect that wire to the ceiling wire.
The product is very good. So good in fact that I’ve replaced7 of my lights around the house with it.
Light works great and is super bright and mounting mechanism is fantastic. Have a small kitchen 3x3m and this is the only light but entire room is fantastically lit.
Only problem is the mechanism for hooking up wires. Has some sort of clip system but not sure if terrible design or faulty but couldn’t get mine to work, ended up breaking this part off and adding a basic screw terminal which took an extra 5 mins but works fine
If you have a ceiling rose fitting you will need to remove it and re-wire, or alternatively just mount this light next to it and run the wire across.
The bulbs can’t be replaced, however it might last a good while being LED, so fair enough.
Fitting a light with your arms above your head is a pain, but it’s doable. Minus one star for having clip in terminals, would prefer good old fashioned screw in for the wires.
The light is good and bright, and should keep my home office looking bright through the winter months.
We bought this to replace our pretty dim light iftting in our front porch. The light itself is fine – pretty cheap plasticy material, very lightweight, but it’s sleek and easy to clean, so for the price I’m happy enough with that.
The bracket fitting was a little finnicky though – the lightitself clips on to the bracket using two plastic hooks on either side – this is a neat little solution BUT the hooks are so tight that getting them to clip on to the bracket is very frustrating. Changing the fitting took us about five minutes – getting it to actually connect to the bracket took us another fifteen.
That’s a pretty minor point, but worth bearing in mind if you don’t have time or patience for it!
Overall though it’s a good budget light – really bright white light which I want for my entryway, but probably wouldn’t work well for more comfortable settings like living rooms or bedrooms.
I think this is a great light. it would be best if it could be dimmed. It feels a bit like being in an operating theatre, I suppose it’s great for high precision stuff- like shaving and make up. But it made my bathroom look so filthy, I’ve had to paint it since I got this light. A dimmer would be great. Electrician found it a bit fidgety, but he managed to put in all the cables in the right place.
Have put 4 stars for each question as its not been put up yet all i can say its not really big feels quite light, excuse the pun, expect it to be fitted in next couple of wks so i will comment then. Its now november the light has been up a couple of months now and is brilliant a very bright white light my bathroom has come alive when the light is on i just can,t get over how bright my bathroom is now so chuffed.
Neat/compact. Bright: really gives good light in an otherwise dark (windowless) passageway.
Awkward fitting for the UK although it can be installed. Easier (so I’m told) for European style set up with electrics, which I guess is why there are mixed messages about ease of installation in the reviews. UK Tenants would have to take that into consideration to comply with terms.
The light was a little fiddly to install on our bathroom ceiling. Once it had been attached the cover clips on quite easily. The light itself is really bright perhaps more than I expected. Our bathroom is not very big only about 4metres square Overall good product for price
Looks good, is lightweight and I liked the method of attaching the fitting to the bracket.
It is ultra bright even though it is the 15 watt version albeit in our small utility space.
The only downside for me, and this not the fault of the design, was that I had 4 cables coming through from above and was quite tricky to get them all connected up correctly with limited space available in the recess above the light fitting. Managed it in the end with some perseverance I like the end result.
Having tried the smart version of this light and failed miserably to get it to connect to the router I returned it and ordered this one instead. I am happy to say it works as it should and gives off a very bright light. I am not sure if I should have gone for the warm version over this one but it’s up now so a mute point. Installation is a bit off a faff trying to get the bracket to engage into the light but once mastered it holds up nicely. I would advise not trying to connect the light directly to your ceiling wires but to make a short extension using Wago connectors to connect it to. There is sufficient room in the depression of the light base to fit the extra wire and connectors into so that the light unit is still flush on the ceiling. I shall be trying to fit a smart device into the wall switch in the future to make the light work with Alexa.
Really decent little unit. Appears well made unlike some of the cheaper options I’ve seen. Easy to install. Really bright and the diffuser works well meaning the produced light is even (you cannot see the individual LEDs). Purchased the 15W version and this is more than enough light for my girlfriend’s small bathroom (roughly 7 square metres). Only ‘problem’ was that this light is significantly smaller than the old light (a circular fluorescent style unit) which meant having to touch up the ceiling paint. Overall, would recommend.
Needs quite a bit of loose cable to install though the installation itself is relatively simple.
Pleased we went with the 24w version as it is just about bright enough for a small bathroom.
It’s advertised as daylight but is actually 5000k daylight is generally regarded (at least in photography as 5600-6500k) so it has a slight green tint to it.
Overall a decent light but I would have liked a slightly whiter light with a bit more power (and would have been happy to pay a bit more)
The first thing I’d say is I’m very impressed with the light output, the fittings look okay & they’re cheap.
However, as can be seen from photos on other reviews, installation isn’t always straightforward.
Part of the fitting’s specification is its water resistance. There is a gasket around the terminal cover to assist with this. If single insulated cable (or stripped flex etc) is used, the gasket won’t seal the cover. A correctly sized & stripped flex needs to be used to maintain water resistance – which is where we come to issue number 2.
Most uk lights are wired using the ‘looped in’ method. This means you will normally encounter a minimum of two cables, each containing three wires. On most fittings there will be three cables (nine wires) and occasionally there may be a looped supply to another lamp, totalling twelve wires!
These fittings have provision for a maximum of four wires, two ‘live’ (switch wires) & two neutral. That’s assuming you use flat 2-core flex, or you’ll be back to losing water resistance.
This leaves you with a couple of problems – firstly you’ll need some flex, which isn’t provided. Secondly, you’ll need to make the other wires off safely. The usual solution is to stick them into connector blocks, joining the switch wire & neutral connections onto your flex & stuffing the blocks into the ceiling, leaving the flex dangling to connect to the fitting. This doesn’t comply with the wiring regulations though & definitely limits the water resistant qualities.
Assuming you find your way around that issue, there are another couple of minor niggles. One is what first appears to be a good idea – the metal bracket the unit clips onto. A sensible design would have clips that disengaged when pushed, but the designers went for the easier ‘disengage when pulled’ option. There isn’t much space to do this, so unless you have thin & nimble fingers you may end up having to use a loop of string or a long nosed pliers to pull the clips back.
(I notice that on the newer model, it comes with attached flex & the clip bracket has been abandoned).
Finally, the lamps aren’t replaceable. They’re supposed to last 20,000 hours, which is around the same as a standard LED lamp….. in my experience, LED lamps don’t last 20,000 hours in the real world. When they fail though, I just swap the lamp. When one of these goes, the whole fitting is shot & needs replacing. They’re cheap, but not as cheap as replacement lamps.
Overall, I think they’re a worthwhile buy, especially if they can be wired in flex from an accessible joint box. Very bright, so ideal in many situations & good value as long as the lamps don’t burn out too quickly.
I bought this for our family bathroom. I did not realise quite how bright it is.
First time I walked upstairs after installing this I thought that my time had come and the heavens were opening up to take me.
Now that I have got over my near death experience I like the light. It has also meant I could highlight some areas the wife hadn’t cleaned properly. This ironically led to another near death experience…
I bought this lamp to replace a dim, energy saving bathroom fixture. Initially I tried to fit this myself but found it to be quite complicated. After removing the old light and expecting 2–3 wires I found that the previous light had a few more and the colours didn’t match what I was expecting (later learned this was a 3 plate). Wired it in best I could but then the landing light stopped working so I ended up getting an electrician to finish the job! The installation was an additional 40 so it ended up being a bit more expensive than I was expecting.
The quality of the light itself seems really good, it’s a bright white light which is great for feeling like you’re bathing in natural, bright sunlight. Time will tell on the quality of the LEDs but so far so good.
The main detractors for me were the complications installing it with my setup and it doesn’t have a CE mark.
What can I say it’s like a new bathroom! I’ve never had so much light in there even with the window open in the hight is summer, super easy to fit! Looks great.
You can quite clearly see the difference in the pictures, the darker image beleive it or not has been taken with the old light fitting turned ON! would definitely recommend
I love it! It is so easy to install and has a great securing mechanism as you can see from the photos. The beauty of this is that you can detach the light in 5 seconds if you want to paint the ceiling, which, is very infrequent. However, I’m in the process of repainting the bathroom ceiling right now and it’s so easy.
The light is lovely and bright and is so much better than the previous 4-pin square light and nowhere near as bulky and s lot more stylish. The reduced power consumption is also a massive bonus.
I’d def
Our bathroom is large’ish at about 8 feet by 10 feet and it always has a shadow area whatever lighting we’ve had. This though, wow. I am buying the smaller one now for the utility room and the same size for the other en-suite bathroom, as I’m SO impressed. Beware though, it will show up every little bit of dust and grime, so you’ll have to up the cleaning regime in your bathrooms with this. Highly impressed and buying more of the same.
The product arrived fast. It is small as expected, ideal for fitting in my downstairs toilet.
I was fortunate as my original fitting had the same wires as required by this light. Brown for live and blue for neutral. No need to screw in the wires either, the light fitting has 2 spring loaded clips to push the wires into nice and securely.
There is a bracket attached to the light fitting that you just unclip and then mount to your ceiling, very easily. The light then clips back onto this bracket and your done.
I turned the power back on and and the light shon a brilliant bright white. Fantastic much brighter than before and only 15w. No more changing light bulbs and expensive running costs.
Cannot go wrong at this price plus the build quality looks good and the finished product on the ceiling looks really nice. I want some more now for my other bathrooms and possibly a few other poorly lit areas.
Brilliant little light this.
Very clever design makes it a doddle to put up. The bracket mounts to the ceiling and has slots rather than holes so it can be moved around to fit flexible existing holes in ceiling, mine went into the same holes from my previous bracket. The bracket then clips into the metal pins on the light so no screwing after the bracket is up, Even the neutral and live wired go into the light with push pins so no screwing as well. Very clever, very easy, very bright white light, excellent value for money!
The reasons I bought this light were –
To brighten up my room.
To have low energy lighting.
To not have to keep changing bulbs.
To have a light that is easy to install.
All reasons were a success. The brightness has transformed my bathroom to a very bright white appearance compared to my previous rather dull yellow. The wattage is only 15 watts, so it’s good for energy saving compared to my previous 75 watt bulb. The fitted LED lights have a 50,000 hour life span, long enough to see me out, and it was the simplest ceiling light I have ever installed.
This is a well constructed, generic LED light. Due to its generic design, you are likely to need some form of junction box to correctly (safely) wire the light as it does not have the same terminal points ( line, neutral, earth and loop) as you will find on a UK ceiling rose to support the way that most lights are wired. Also if you do not know what that all means you should do more research on wiring before you start. How hard it is to resolve this issue will depend on the wires in place and the amount of space available to place the junction box.
Again due to its generic design the light makes no claims about meeting any British Standards, so for use in a bathroom, it is best to consider it something that can only be installed in unzoned areas (which was once called zone 3).
Now installed – I purchased some WAGO wire block connectors to allow all the connections to take place. They are also small enough to push the resulting connections back into the ceiling space after making the hole a little larger.
This is a super light. Big output for a small power input and has brightened up an en-suite area so much even the wall tiles look whiter!
I am very pleased with this light fitting. It is neat and looks good in a bathroom/ toilet/ en-suite situation especially the colour output (classed as neutral/daylight white). Not so sure it would be all that attractive in the likes of a dining room for example – not to my taste anyway.
One of the best features as regards fitting is the wiring. Trim the wires as suggested and it is then a simple matter to push the live and neutral (no earth require) into the appropriate slots and, bingo, the wires are secure. No messing around with screw type connectors which can be a bit fiddly sometimes. Probably the most difficult part of the fitting process was getting the best orientation for the mounting bar so as to ensure the cable was hidden from view – but having said that, it’s not that difficult.
I thoroughly recommend this light fitting and I’ll be ordering at least another one for a similar location in my house…..can’t say more than that.
UPDATE: I’ve just spent the best part of 4 hours trying to find out why this light has started to flicker when it’s switched on. After a while it seemed to settle but, annoyingly, it would repeat the flickering at random. I won’t go through the whole 4 hours but eventually found the problem to be with the connector between the light and the house lighting cable. For some reason the connector was not gripping the wires sufficiently tightly though it’s been running perfectly well over the past 20 months or so. My solution was to replace the connector with a double cable connector strip with screw down fixings. Very easy to do once you have literally had to break the original connector to get it out! Light is now flicker free and I have no doubt will continue to be so until the LED gives out.
WARNING – do to attempt this solution unless you are fully competent in wiring procedures.
These can be tricky to fit. This is only because you need your L and N cable to be around 4″ long after it comes out of the ceiling (which is not often the case and will need extending with 25amp block connectors and some 1.5mm twin & earth cable – preferably rigid). You do not need the earth because it is double poled and not a metal casing. If your earth is there in your existing wire then place it into a block connector and took it away. Fit the mounting bracket first because the light just clicks into place and becomes secure. However, before you place the fitting in its final place, you have to connect the L and N. This is done by pushing the little lever which opens up the entrance of the L and N to place the wire inside. Once the cable has been placed in the hole, let go of the lever and the hole closes, trapping the cable. Once the this has been done, make sure the seals that are in two pieces fit around the cable mounting area (you will see what I mean when you see it) and refit the L/N cover plate which is held secure by two screws, then place the fitting on the holding bracket and pull the small lever at the side of the light and it clicks into place. This is waterproof and let me tell you it is bright and I mean BRIGHT. This gives off a white light, it is not a cold light and it is not a warm light but it is a white light. Myself and my Wife think it is great and you soon get used to the brightness. I would recommend this to anyone because the low profile fitting is not bulky and is a nice addition to our bathroom.
These lights are superb design.
Novel way of connecting wires took a while to work out, but very efficient method, once learned how.
Is the 3rd light have bought. VERY bright.
Lights my bathroom beautifully, with minimal shadow.
Put one in my garden workshop shed, 12ftx10ft. Lights all up brilliantly.
Overall, best of type, I have to date enjoyed.
Very easy to install. Time will tell if it has longevity
Brilliant for bathrooms and even my garage. Very efficient..easy to fi
Very bright from the moment it is turned on. Perfect for what we wanted.
Excellent light! We went for the brighter one. It is a colder white light but that’s stated. It’s really easy to install and works perfectly.
The brightness- its to early to say how reliable it will be.
Great value for money l recommended this product to others
Does what it says.
Want light ?
It giveth.
Looks better than those crappy D bulb things too
Love this, looks nice and minimalist and has a lovely even light spread.
Previous LE 22 watt wall ceiling lamps had a soft plastic diffuser, these are a much improved design featuring a hard plastic diffuser sealed unit.
Light serves the purpose and hope it will be working for sometime to come.
RECOMMENDED
A bit cheap on the construction but serves its purpose well, easy to install and very bright. Glad I didn’t go with the brighter option.
Really bright light. The light fitting is flush to the ceiling so you will need to ensure the wiring can be recessed into the ceiling and you will need some form of connector block for the lighting ring main if typical UK light wiring.
his is an excellent light, but fits flush to the ceiling and I found it tricky to
join with the looped in installation wiring.
It was very easy to fit giving a very bright output. Will buy more for other bathrooms.
A very good product almost daylight .
Electrical snap fittings removed for terminal
Block for safety
Good light and easy to install, but light is very brigh
A bit fiddly to put up but the end result was well worth the faff. Lights the Kitchen up nicely.
Purchased on recommendation to replace older light. Light source brighter and cheaper to run.
Very happy with purchase easy to fit, lightweight and very bright which is what I was looking for. Looks good too.
Overall a decent light but I would have liked a slightly whiter light with a bit more power (and would have been happy to pay a bit more)
Worth the price.
Very happy!
