Adoro questa interfaccia audio. Tanti ingressi, tutti limpidi. Facile gestione in/out.
Easy to use and set up. Sound quality is great.
Product fine, but warehouse description as very good packaging maybe damaged is flakey
Just an empty box, no holding material
rattled around like a pea in a colander
No docs or anything
Poor first impressio
I am late writing my review for my products bought. I must say that this system is 1000% percent amazing. It has helped me make some of the best vocal productions in my life. I have the clarity of an actual studio in my eyes. I really do appreciate the love for the fast and safe shipping that was provided, and definitely the snug fit that my items were packaged into. It means a lot to get EXACTLY what I pictured out of a project. It was my brother who had recommended me to this product, and you can definitely look forward to seeing more purchases coming from me soon. Thanks!
Good product. Confusing web page for it and bad tech support and timing is worse. The support team member I got basically not responding after she gotten back once after her initial response. A total of two without further contact.
Bin wirklich zufrieden.
I am getting very louder output from my Mac mini (2014) through my Yamaha HS8. While watching movies I hear intermittent clipping, especially during the “entering the black hole scene” form Interstellar, which had the maximum bass (low-end) frequency. I tried every possible way to fix it. Replaced the interface. And the cables LOL then,
I found this on M-audio troubleshooting website that said:
“The AIR Series interfaces were designed with a slightly hotter output than your garden variety audio interface. If you are experiencing unwanted audio artifacts in your output when setting the USB/Direct knob all the way to USB, simply back the knob away from USB slightly to give your signal more headroom.”
Another VERY IMPORTANT thing! Also, you need to decrease the system volume to 20% and best to keep it at 80% on Mac. It indeed gives “HOT” output. Now I get it!!! The Bass sounds a little bit distorted and not very cool. When I decreased the volume to 20% on VLC or iTunes or Safari or whatever. Now everything sounds PERFECT and COOL.
Does what it claims to. Of course you cannot hear the 192khz. It’s just not possible. Unless you got some rediculous ears. But this is connected to a powerful system with 2 studio monitors. And it sounds fantastic. My ONLY issue so far is using software like guitar rig 6. And trying to play along ro music makes it crack alot. But i think that’s because rig 6 is outputting at 192 kHz and the music at 44k and it just clashes so much. I found a workaround however. Regardless great device
I was very pleased with this product as it came on time, well packaged and well…everything was included. The headphones have a great sound for the price range, maybe even better quality for price. The interface is beyond exceptional and honestly I would 100% recommend this product!
Does what it’s supposed to. Pretty much impossible to find something with this many outgoing IO connections at this price range. I’ve been recording at the 96k resolution and at maximum realtime sample block size and it works great still. Sometimes it sort of decides that it’s going to revert to 44.1k and it kind of locks up and won’t let you change it back but if you just close down your DAW or change the output from Windows to something like the internal speaker and then back again it usually resolves the issue.
It doesn’t have midi inputs and outputs though, so that’s something you might want to consider.
We are a smallish church, new to livestreaming and ordered this product “hoping” that it would work to connect our old existing soundboard to our new livestream software – and it did just that! The connections were easy to make, the instructions for downloading the driver were easy to find, and the quality of the sound is very good for the money. If you are looking for a way to bridge your existing in-house sound system to your livestream software, this could be the answer.
When I submitted my activation code I realized that someone had the code 9 months earlier, which only allowed me two other activations. I had to reset my codes with the software publisher.
( Ryzen 3700x in meinem Fall )
Zum Gert selbst:
Mikrofon Endstufe ist super, sehr armes hintergrundrauschen. Kristallklare Stimme. Funktioniert einwandfrei mit meinem Marantz Professional MPU – 1000
Monitoring funktioniert super ohne Latenz !
Alles Luft bestens. Audio Qualitt hervorragend!
I really like this interface, but it seems to have some issues with Windows compared to MacOS. Initially I had this hooked up to my speakers that were part of my mac set up. It was quite literally plug and play. Whole system showed up immediately and worked great. Then I made the decision to move it and my speakers to my gaming setup, because I don’t always like to use headphones. It was not plug and play like MacOS at all. Windows recognized the device. Would not output any sound. Made sure drivers were correct and downloaded the interface software. After watching some YouTube videos turns out the frequency needs to be changed and its needs to match windows settings. Started working. Thought we were all good. Nope, not really. Any time Windows updates it messes everything up. That’s not really the products fault per say, more of a Windows issue, but you shouldn’t have to be messing around with settings to get it to work. I really like the product itself, just seems to be kind of flawed and it’s disappointing
Awesome piece of equipment. Very sturdy and well built. The control knobs, switches, buttons, inserts, connections are robust and high quality…equipment is often rendered useless due to a cheap components. The sound is amazing, the ASIO driver ensures very low latency, plug and play out of the box, three types of inputs and assignable extra outputs are perfect for my studio recording needs. Well worth the money! Works great with OBS and Waveform 11.
Was looking to upgrade from my old Focusrite and fancied a change. The M-Audio stepped up to the plate and is all round a great audio interface.
I love the sleek black style, only downside is the mic level LEDs having a big jump (-20, -6, -2), would’ve been nice to have a tighter measure, but I use a DAW to manage my levels so not the end of the world! Just something that crossed my mind

Excellent. Guitar inputs have attenuators. Clean audio. No issues with drivers with Ableton. I did replace unbalanced speaker cables with balanced to resolve pc noise breakthrough issue using Intel NUC connection on usb. Manual says they should be trs but I’m used to either /or being ok. So Not a fault in this product. It is a tad larger than it looks in pictures , over twice size of my NUC.
It’s built like a tank, a very professional piece of gear. As others have mentioned, the gain knobs have to be turned way up to get any response which seems weird to me. I love being able to run my guitar through pedals and straight into my computer or to headphones or to my speakers or all of the above at once. It’s costly but totally worth it.
Sonst gibt’s da Probleme undzwar so richtige!
My first audio interface and have to say I love it. The large dial at the front is great. It also powers my 80ohm DT 770.
It is larger than most audio interfaces so maybe not ideal for someone who needs it for travelling.
Bought as a gift. No complaints. I still can’t sing hahahaha

Einige andere Anbieter bieten zumindest weitere Einstell Optionen an (z.B. Kompressor/Limiter /EQ Features)
Anmerkung fr Einsatz bei folgender Software:
Voicemeeter: ASIO funktioniert nicht ! -> Es soll in VM gepatcht werden (stand Februar2021)
Der Einsatz von VM mit “Standard” Betrieb funktioniert tadellos.
OBS: ASIO Frequenz max. 48Khz einstellen sonst funktioniert Wiedergabe/Mikro nicht. Alternativ ASIO Plugin verwenden ( google Asio obs)
Discord: ASIO Frequenz max.
LED`s gut sichtbar
Haptik: Knpfe fhlen sich gut an, Reagieren sauber. Gehuse aus Metall, passt alles.
Inhalt: Kurze Anleitung, Download Hinweise
Betrieb: USB-C ( Kein Separater Netzbetrieb), luft bei mir ber ein USB-C Hub mit Netzteil.
1 Stern Abzug fr:
Mittelmiger Treiber
Easy setup. Came with two usb cables (usb-c to usb-c and usb-a to usb-c) I have a ryzen system and did experience some cracking after I installed the m-audio software from the website. Uninstalled and just running the driver is working great with no issues. The trouble with the driver is the only reason for 4 star instead of 5.
I’ve only had the opportunity to use it once for a vlog panel via facebook meets. My sound was clear, I had the option of adding an additional mic or sound device. It worked straight out of the box, but it also came with some additional software packs for free. I bout it because of the built-in crystal pre-amp & phantom power. Will add more updates as I use it more.
I’m enjoying, it’s my first interface so far and it does the job.
Been singing since I was a child & I got this to hook up to my programs at home as I produce & engineer. I use a limited addition Aston Origin with the M-audio interface w/ my laptop device. This increased the ability to record clearer with my audio driver as well as accentuate the power of the gear itself. It boosts the ability for the computer to process while recording & producing. M-audio improves the dynamic range of the microphones sound & it is able to contribute deeper lows & elevated highs. Completely helped and wipped out a tremendous amount of latency as well. Love my gear 🙂
I love this thing! The sound quality is lights out. Phenomenal! I’m a music teacher and typical use my interface to record guitar, bass, vocals and sometimes my electronic drum kit.
I downloaded the free Abelton software that came with the purchase of this unit and haven’t had any latency issues.
With my past interface, my recorded sounds always sounded dull. My guitar solos came in kind of buried. Since switching to this M-Audio interface I can’t believe the upgrade in my sound.
This is really built rugged. It’s not too big but it’s got a little weight to it. Metal housing and the faceplate looks like glass. The volume wheel is large and it turns and feels like a professional-grade unit.
I probably would have paid triple for this unit considering the sound I’m getting. Very impressive.
I’m not a pro, but have been using a MOTU traveler 3 for 10 years or so, which is now struggling with 64bit. This M-audio unit has a nice finish and appears study. All up and running out of the box using Macbook Pro and Ableton push, midi keyboard, mics etc. Very happy with this purchase.
I got a new Windows laptop recently, it’s a 10th gen I7 which is fairly respectable so I was surprised to find that the audio-processing latency was horrendous out the box (with the builtin wsapi device). I improved it a bit by switching to ASIO4all but I was getting a lot of crackles and quality degradation when I switched to low-latency settings.
This little audio interface solved all those problems. I actually wasn’t even expecting it to, since I only bought it for the purposes of recording, but it ended up killing two birds with one stone. Even if I don’t use either of the recording inputs on this, just the fact that I route my computer output through it dramatically reduces my latency when doing effects processing in Ableton or modular synth in VCV Rack.
As for the recording itself, well I can’t speak too critically about it because I am not a pro recording engineer or anything. But I will say that I haven’t noticed any problems at all in terms of hissing or anything. On the other hand, the 8-input Tascam interface I bought before this crapped out super quickly and stopped registering any input at all. So, as long my M-Audio continues to just work, I am happy with it.
The drivers were updated as of 4/8/21, and I haven’t had any problems since! This took much longer than it should have, but at least it happened.
Original review:
When this interface worked, it was great. A little larger than I expected, but that’s on me for not checking the dimensions.
Then I upgraded my system to a Ryzen 3600. Unfortunately, this caused issues with the interface that only appeared months after I upgraded where both inputs started intermittently going out. Now, input has totally stopped working and output crackles and pops frequently, especially when I’m working in my DAW. This has made it nearly impossible for me to work on any projects.
When I contacted support on Feb 24, 2021, I got the following message:
“we have received reports of customer’s having issues with AMD processors and that the development team is working to resolve the issue. We will have an update for AIR interface users with computers running an AMD processor very shortly. Thank you for your patience while we attempt to resolve this issue.”
I asked for a more specific time when the update might be available, and I was told it is “a high priority situation for the M-audio team.” Hopefully this is fixed soon, but considering there is a review from June 2020 reporting the same problem, I doubt it will be. In the meantime, avoid if you have an AMD processor.
I’ve been mostly happy with this purchase. I had a fringe use case for this device with using it for a VFIO setup. I know libvirt can make things that function fine in Windows all screwy when in a VM so I went in knowing it might be an issue but ultimately have had it working pretty soundly for about a week. If I run into any other issues I’ll update review.
Pros:
– Great price for a USB DAC with nice built in preamps and XLR out.
– I like the design of it. The knobs are not crammed on the front so if you have the room on your desk it’s a nice layout.
– The preamps specifically are nice because I have a Shure SM7B and wanted to avoid adding on an extra preamp if possible and this DAC boosts enough to not require an additional preamp. It seems like you can run most dynamic mics raw with this mixer and get appropriate levels barring the quietest of whispering.
Cons:
– Drivers suck. It’s been said before in other revuews but holy hell the M-Audio drivers that Windows pushes are terrible. I was getting crackling audio from my speakers and my mic was disconnecting every few minutes when I was using this mixer in my VM. Tried a whole bunch of fixes between switching ports, changing sound virtualization, and fiddling with sample rate and buffer size. Finally figuered I’d just try reinstalling the drivers which I didn’t expect to be the problem given the mixer worked fine in baremetal windows. With no drivers installed the mixer worked flawlessly. I don’t even.
– The control panel is threadbare and the GUI looks half functional between all the options grey-out for any given reason. It’s a glorified hotlink to visit their tech support site.
– Pre-packaged software and demos is 100% wasted on me. Could be some really good offers for Protools in there but my eyes glaze over when I see this stuff as I just assume it to be demos looking to push a purchase on you. I bought this mixer because I needed a mixer, not because its Protools certified and comes with a trial version of an extra plugin to make farts sound wetter.
Overall, the hardware itself is nice and navigating the quirks can give you a nice mixer. It’s just navigating the quirks that can turn owners into refunders.
I compared this to the Scarlett Solo and this has much better features. Along with everything the SOLO has, you also get, a) dedicated mixing dial to control whether you are monitoring from your daw, direct from your recording source, or any blend of the two. b) Independent volume control for headphones, not affected by the main monitor volume control. I use these two extra features constantly, and would miss them a great deal with the other product. I also find, personally, that having all the controls on top makes everything super easy to adjust, and positions clearly visible after adjustments are made. An extra large monitor knob makes very fine adjustments of monitor volume effortless. The solo is probably a good device, and I almost picked it just because everyone else does. I am SO glad I got the M-Audio with the design and features being much better in my opinion.

It arrived a day early, cones with a great recording program and very easy to set up and use!
Great quality recording, using with windows pc, no issues with software, very clear, shame it doesn’t include a mic stand would complete the set up
Really simple to set up and very low latency noise free recording. Good amount of inputs, very versatile.
This is a superb piece of kit for the price , I use it for recording guitars both into Logic on a MacBook and also via Usb C to an iPad Pro . It functions really well as an interface For webcam lessons as well . Guitar and vocal mic into the interface then into Skype or Zoom etc.

Excellent piece of kit. Perfect for a home studio setup. USB-C connector is an excellent touch, and the multiple input options and direct/usb fade dial is perfect. No fuss to install.
Sound quality appears to be better than my old scarlett, but might be a placebo!
Have it for about a month now. Amazing sound and material quality. just plug and play with the Mac. only reason I gave it 4 stars its because it drains the battery of my computer, and I’m not sure if there is a way to power source it otherwise. but over all its a great product, and would definitely buy it again.
This item is great and everything works well but at the beggining the set up was very very hard about the drivers. I have to reinstall it like 5 times until my pc recognize them. apart of that, everything is cool and very clean!”!
Really good audio interface for a beginner does what it needs to do and has got the option on so many things for as cheap as this I have had no problems with it at all the connections are XLR+” TRS combo input. I would recommend 100% to new producers that need a interface that goes with a their monitors for music productio
I use it solely for recording spoken words: online meetings and screencasts for my online classes. It is connected to a Windows 10 PC and has been working flawlessly. The driver is stable during long online Zoom meetings (longer than 1.5 hours).
I used EVO 4 and returned it due to the RF interference with a cell phone and low mic output gain level. M-Audio Air 192|4 is excellent in these two regards. I find that it does not have the RF interference issue and that the maximum gain is higher than EVO 4. At the maximum level, I can clip the recording with Rode Podmic at my normal voice level, which was impossible with EVO 4. (I have a low-pitched voice and speak rather softly.)
The gain level is currently at about 9. The peak level during the recording is between -18 and -12 dB. I was about to buy Fethead when using EVO 4, but I don’t need one with M-Audio. The noise level is so low, and it is a non-issue, even at a high gain level.
The dial layout is excellent, and the dials themselves are of high quality. (Since I do not use studio monitors, I wish I can use the main dial (the biggest one in the middle) to control headphone volume. )
All in all, an excellent audio interface, especially if you use low sensitivity dynamic mics!
Space it takes up:
I was hesitant to purchase this interface due to the size. Many YouTubers said it was bulky and took up a lot of space. This may be true when comparing it to Focusrite Scarlets or other interfaces but as my first interface, I can’t imagine it being any smaller. It fits perfectly on my desk and doesn’t take up much space.
Build quality:
This interface is light weight but feels very solid. The knobs are this very nice quality plastic but have resistance you would find on a professional mixer. The main frame of it is metal. The only cheap feeling thing is the large knob used to control it’s output for studio monitors.
Ease of use and features:
This device offers you a ton of control in terms of it’s monitoring. You can adjust the headphone volume as well as balancing the audio from your computer or the direct monitoring from the interface. The headphone amp is powerful enough to drive my ATH M50Xs. I’m not sure how it works with higher ohm headphones. You can have a guitar/bass plugged in along with an xlr mic or something that uses line input. The Air driver you can get once you register it on the M-Audio website works excellent for FL Studio and other DAWs I’m sure.
Overall:
This interface has a great feel and works as advertised. I have no complaints about it. The headphone amp paired with lower ohm headphones and lossless audio quality music can make for a good HiFi audiophile experience. Also, I found the serial number for my product on one of the user manuals in the box rather than on the box. You’ll need that to get the plugins and driver.
This thing has flat out worked and done everything I’ve asked of it perfectly. I has all the features I want for a small interface.
-2 mic pre-amps so duets can be recorded simultaneously
-MIDI in/out for inputting virtual instruments/drums using my old MIDI keyboard
-low noise floor for clean recording
-adequate gain for gain hungry mics (Shure SB7-B)
-very low latency
I love the form factor. It’s not tiny. But that means I get big knobs on the top of the interface that are easy to adjust accurately. No tiny knobs on the front of a tiny interface that almost require tweezers to adjust. I use this interface on my desk and it mostly stays on my desk. If you constantly move your interface, there are smaller ones available. But I still like the features and ease of use of this form factor so would move this slightly bigger interface.
I like the VU LED meters with multiple levels. Much preferred over just “Signal” and “Clip” indicators. I can more easily tell when my gain levels are where I want them to be.
I love the USB/Direct knob for mixing how much direct (zero latency) sound feed and how much USB sound feed you get back from your computer. It helps to nail vocal takes while still being able to hear the track you are building on from your DAW. Much better than a switch between 100% direct or 100% USB like others interfaces have.
As for ‘popping’ and noise mentioned in other reviews, I’ve not experienced this at all… EXCEPT when someone used a low quality mic or instrument cable. Good cables and solid connections gave perfect pop free sound every time.
I use Reaper as my DAW so had no need for the ‘lite’ versions of DAWs that came with the interface. But those DAWs could certainly get you started. But Reaper @ $60 is almost free and it’s way better than what’s included in the box. (Even the Reaper “demo” is a fully functional version you can use as long as you wish… although they will nag you to buy.)
Included are some really good VST FX plugins that can be used in most DAWs. There are also some great virtual instruments and drum machine plugins. Plus 2GB of samples and loop tracks. All these are worth the price you pay for the whole interface.
If I had any wishes, it would be for ‘pad’ switches on the channels to drop down the input level of hot instruments, but this can be handled easily enough with the gain knobs.
I highly recommend this interface.
I did quite a bit of research before opting for the M-Audio. I personally prefer the layout of the knobs on the top, as I don’t need to reach down to figure out what is what. It lives on one side of my desk and I use it not only for recording, but as the main sound card for my PC. The 192-6 has two inputs which allow me to record vocals in stereo (coming off an effects pedal). Most importantly, it has a blend between direct monitoring and USB sound, to deal with any latency. It also has MIDI ports in case I need to hook up a MIDI keyboard/pad in the future. The quality and build are excellent. The only issue I faced was not getting any sound from my PC (e.g. playing mp3, YouTube, etc.), although I got the sound from the DAW. I found out that to fix this, I needed to select a sample rate of 48000 in the M-Audio applet. It might also be worthwhile to try different USB ports, and finally make sure you’re not using any USB hubs, which can interfere with the memory allocation. Now, everything works perfectly. The 192-6 is hooked up to my desktop speakers through two TS>RCS cables as RCS are the only inputs on them. Although the 192-6 monitor outputs are TRS, this doesn’t damage the interface, but you lose -6dB. In the future, I might invest in some proper studio monitors which have TRS and/or XLR inputs.
Overall, the 192-6 offers more features compared to more expensive 2i2o interfaces, has very low noise and latency. Strongly recommended.
Plugs in and works straight away. Fantastic ease of use and build quality is excelle
Solid and it has a big knob, sounds clear and crisp
I found this unit to be an excellent performer. The detail coming through my monitors via Studio One is astounding. Even the headphone outs are beautiful sounding and can get to extremely loud levels, which is useful when tracking. Lots of features for a low price makes me a very happy customer!
Windows 10 user here and no problems with drivers or audio glitches so far. Just make sure to install the interface Driver BEFORE connecting it to the PC. Then, set the Sampling Rate in the M-audio control panel the same way you have it in your windows audio settings. I’m using REAPER and no problems at all. Latency is really low and recording guitars with this box is amazing in sound accuracy and warmth. Definitely recommended.
Great interface on a budget. Does the job.was for a friend in jamaica and he was happy with it .

The M-Audio Air 192/6 allows you to record 2 channels at the same time through two 1/4″ jack inputs. Phantom power provided by a crystal preamp enables a condenser mic to be used, and the USB Audio/MIDI interface lets you record into your DAW (I’m using GarageBand) on Mac/pc. Virtual instruments galore through a ton of software that comes with it, including Ableton Live Lite and Pro Tools.

So this works as should, it looks really smart on my desk, all the volume controls work very well and I’m pretty much very happy with it.
My problem with this is not the audio interface itself but the cables that come with it. They are VERY short, now I understand shorter the better for audio quality. But they are so short that I have had to use an extra USB extension (which is not the best quality) to reach my desktop computer and still make the Audio Interface reachable. So if you are not placing this next to your computer you will have to also purchase a high quality usb-c cable in order to reach the port to plug it in.
Once again I would like to point out that this is a good quality audio interface and I’m a big fan of the crystal pre-amp, but I would think a cable of atleast 2m length should have come with this.

Its such an easy to setup kit that’s so minimal. The mic quality and headphone quality haven’t left me wanting any more. Its so worth the additional money from the other lesser manufacturers out there. If you are searching for an audio interface around the 150 mark id suggest save your money until you can get this, its bang on!
I hope this helps to everyone who’s on the fence!

Risposta:” You need to setup the 3+4 output in your DAW by adding in the I/O hardware setup or by adding it manually into Audio/Midi setup”.

I would buy it again.
I must say indeed that I had made a return of the product (lucky who bought it at used price) because I immediately thought that the 3-4 outputs did not work. To these Line Outputs 3 and 4 (non-mainstream) I had connected a headphone amplifier, a case that is also covered on a diagram in the manual.
From the manual: “Outputs (3-4): Use standard 1/4″ (6.35 mm) TRS cables to connect these line outputs to a headphone amplifier, external signal processors such as a compressor, etc. Their levels are automatically +4 dBu”.
In addition :
“Headphone source switch: These switches select which outputs (at rear panel level) are also sent to the headphone outputs: Main outputs 1-2 (1/2) or Outputs 3-4 (3/4)”.
But I couldn’t hear anything.
After contacting “amazon experts” who could not know any more about it than I could, and secondly desisting from opening a ticket to M-Audio because I was asked to register the product online, and I feared problems for a possible return, I opted to return it directly to Amazon, but requested the same product.
Having tried the second product the behavior was similar to the previous card so I had to understand what was wrong.A generalized defect, a lack of understanding about the set up, a lack of clarity in the manual?
M-AUDIO SUPPORT:
(Obviously in English but this is not the problem).
I registered the product but for support on the M-Audio website I was asked for a phantom Support Code.
I lost a good half hour to understand how to get it or where to look for it, both physically (box or documentation) and online, from one page to another in loop…, but not even a trace of the Support Code. (Nebulous procedures). Therefore for exhaustion I filled the requested Support Code space with a random letter on the keyboard and… it worked: the Support from UK answered me!
Answer:” You need to setup the 3+4 output in your DAW by adding in the I/O hardware setup or by adding it manually into Audio/Midi setup”.
Therefore, to listen to music outside of Daw you must use the headphones located on the front, while the aux outputs (3-4) output signal comes out the signal configured in Daw.
Also, when I lower the monitor volume from the center knob (a.e using Logic), I can hear it from Outputs 3-4 as this signal is not affected.
Let’s say that the Manual, rather detailed, could have been written more clearly, especially about this aspect.
The access to Support must be improved.

I’ve been using this interface for most of 2020 now. For me everything feels placed right. Having everything laid out flat is nice opposed to my focusrite. The volume knob is a bit plasticy but very smooth. Having 2 headphone ports with dedicated volume for each on the front has been a blessing, as well as having the 2 instrument lines right there. decent amount of gain on all the preamps, nice control for switching from USB to direct audio. Honestly one of my favorite things about it is the clicky power button, seems superficial but it has been so nice just being able to switch it on and off like a mixer. if you’re a mac user looking to upgrade from a 2 input interface, look no further.
Do not expect volume kill , sound quality is correct and is solid but the faceplate have a texture that is open for many scratches, usb type c is fine but the cable is too short , the knobs are great with solid construction , this also have phamton power for mics , is working perfectly with OBS FYI
It is very heavy duty. But I thought the plastic layering was a removable protective covering and ended up picking at a corner a little but, also a few air bubbles.
So far no problems recording music. I was using a behringer um 22 and it could ONLY record in 44.1 kHz which I didn’t care about or understand a thing about until I saw this. The ability to record at 192 kHz sounds AMAZING. That’s a pro quality in some cheap hardware.
Most people wont go up to 192 kHz sample rate recording though due to it being more intensive on computer.
Upgraded from a Scarlete 2i2 after the usb C port broke on me. This thing is amazing!! Very well built. Plenty of inputs. Sinple readouts for clipping and finding the right balance. Love the power switch to turn it off when not in use. 2 stereo lines in. 4 phantom power channels. 2 i said 2 HEADPHONE outs! Thats a game changer!! The dedicated guitar inputs are awesome. The 3.5mm midi works great. Overall for the price I think its The best on the market for what you get. The preamps are strong but dont hiss if you find the balance with your mic. All mics are different. If i had anything i wish was added itd be a built in di box for the guitar channels. But overall very very very impressed. Had this 2 months now for a live set up and its great.
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the free software included? Great hardware.
Very pleased with this interface once you download the driver it connects up almost instantly
Sound quality is excellent no unexpected noise or anything when you are using you’re daw
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an audio interface
Thanks again m- audio
When this guy works it’s great. The audio capture, the meters, everything fantastic. I think it’s one of the best looking interfaces to leave on your desk without having microphone cables shooting out on your desk. The built-in DAC to the headphones was noticeably better than my other DACs.
Only issue was that I get crackles and pops when running this thing on Windows 10. Also countless driver issues, so I just couldn’t comfortably hold on to this. I ended up returning but if someone has an Intel and it’s compatible with that I would definitely recommend this one.
item received in quick time from seller. The M-Audio Air 192/14 is a well made, very well built sturdy little piece of kit. On first inspection everything is in order and upon first use it’s clearly a worthy investment. The unit I purchased did come packaged with an EU 2pin plug, however after contacting the seller I have been sent through an adapter at no extra cost.
I look forward to testing it to it’s full potential with the enclosed software ASAP. But after my first four channel XLR (inputs 1-4) recording (drum set, 4 mic set up) I found the Air 192/14 simple to use.. all good so far.

I used to use an M-Audio Profire 610 from ~2009 and it still works to this day. However, in that time I have transitioned from a mac user to a Windows user, and having only firewire connectivity is limiting for me. Since my Profire has served me so well for so long, I wanted to stick with M-Audio instead of jumping on tp similar Focusrite products. Some of the reviews here were a tad limited or negative from my perspective as a potential customer, but I still thought it was worth a try to see how M-Audio’s quality has stood the test of time.
So right off the bat, I was all excited to start using it and in a rush I downloaded the 192 | 4 driver instead of the 192 | 14 driver like a dumb muppet, and was wondering why the app said no hardware was connected. After I got that sorted, everything else integrated smoothly.
I like how the headphone outputs can drive my 300 ohm Sennheiser HD 800s with ease. If you turn the knob to 3 o’clock, it’s loud enough that you’ll feel your hair follicles vibrating. The mic quality and latency is sublime with my MXL 990 condenser. While the VU meters do work well indicating the volume levels of my turntable, I found that they are not very helpful when plugging in my mic. It’s better to rely on your DAW in this case. I am very happy with the guitar inputs and really enjoyed noodling around with Guitar Rig and experimenting with different audio formats and sample rates.
I suppose that thing that stood out to me about this device is how much it can do. I can route my vinyl to it, use a mic, have my monitors bumping, plug in two sets of headphones, jam along with my guitar, poke notes on my midi keyboard with my nose, all while listening for any notifications that may come through on my computer. I like that.
One thing I miss that the Profire 610 had was a more robust computer interface. I could name my tracks for inputs and outputs, and I could control it on my computer. However, that device only had two gain knobs, two headphone audio knobs, and a master knob. I suppose it’s nice to have a more physical interface and it takes me back to my guitar pedal collector days.
As far as build and feel go, I am pretty happy. It looks very appealing and the metal chassis seems indestructible. My two slight complaints would be that I wish the main volume potentiometer had a little more resistance when I am turning it. It is super smooth. Also, the right side where the power goes in can get quite hot. I found that at a 192000 kHz sample rate it was much hotter than at 44.1 kHz and it kinda worried me about the longevity of the device if I were to be always running it that hot.
When it comes to using it as a media device, I have been using it in conjunction with Voicemeeter Banana and Light Host. This allows me to have a lot of control over the inputs and outputs and I can also patch in VSTs if desired.
All in all, I suppose my needs are a little odd, but this does the job at a reasonable price. Hopefully, this M-Audio interface will last me 11+ years as well.
With my AT2020 I’m getting a much clearer sound than my old Beringer UM2. And the amp and dac for headphones is decent enough to put away my Schiit stack, so I can have a cleaner aesthetic. Very fitting for the black and white theme I have going.
The rear port for the XLR, knobs on the top of body are the reason I chose this over the Scarlett Solo. The headphone amp/dac is just a huge plus. Albeit, it doesn’t sound as good as the Schiit stack, it’s good enough for what I play, watch and listen to.
Over-all a great product. Will definitely be looking for another M-Audio product when in need.
It looks great and sounds great. There’s essentially no monitor lag at all, which is awesome, especially for the price. Really glad I picked this up. The first time I plugged it in to both my PC and MAC, it took about 4-5 minutes to be recognized. Startled me a bit before I figured it out, and was frustrated to find that technical support required a support code, which is a one single-use code you get upon registering your product. I registered and never received a code, and really had nowhere to turn for help. I eventually got a response via their social media channels, and they were great. I haven’t experienced any delay with the device being recognized since that first attempt.
This is my first music interface. I bought this to use with an old iMac (2011) with Sierra iOS. I’m using GarageBand and an M-Audio Oxygen keyboard.
This unit was easy to set up, iMac recognised it straight away. I’m recording drums through it as well and this too has been a breeze.
The unit is nice and heavy (doesn’t feel cheap and flimsy) which is reassuring.
Vet happy so far, I would recommend….!!
didn’t realize how many connections i would have, so it was immediately too small for my needs.
For the longest time I wanted a simple and affordable way to connect my electric guitar to my computer.
The module feels solid and the connection to Ableton & Reason is literally plug and play.
I wasn’t able to install The lite version of Protools because of compatibility issues with the update of Catalina.
It’s my third product from M Audio and they never disappoint by their quality product.
I’ve been quite pleased with the M-Audio Air 192|14 so far. It’s worked flawlessly with my Mac (I use Logic Pro). Construction seems to be pretty durable too. But what impresses me the most is the sound quality. Compared to my previous, old Firewire interface (Presonsus from over 12 years ago) there is so much more clarity in the high end. Wow. And the preamps are super clean. I need the gain to go up almost all the way for the Shure SM7B — which is well known to need a lot of gain — and there is zero hiss. Absolutely clean gain. I’m very impressed with this unit for the price!
The hardware works as most do easy to use good sound no real delay or lag. The software may be ok, I don’t know as I bought a new MacBook pro for testing and most of the included software does not support Catalina (the current version of the mac operating system). Also keep in mind that these are all lite versions comparable to bloatware on a new pc. The companies are trying to sell you the pro versions.
Ausgepackt und angeschlossen. Direkt per Plug and Play nutzbar.

I am very pleased with this little device. I no longer have a dedicated studio for composing and producing music so need to be able to quickly set something up in the dining room, connect to the keyboard we have set up there and make music. I also want to add vocals so audio/mdi was required. I use logic and a MacBook Pro and all it takes is about 2 or 3 minutes to set up and the same for packing away. I just plug in the midi lead from the keyboard, then the USB C lead to the Mac and some headphones. That is enough for programming drums and keyboards. If I do vocals as well that is just a case of plugging in the mic! It even has phantom power for a condenser mic! Sound quality is fantastic and it is simple to use. I love it! The only irritation, which isn’t enough to knock a star off, is the USB C sometimes disconnects! It only seems to happen when I am changing settings, never during a recording, so it is no bother really and is easily fixed by pulling out the lead and reconnecting it.
Very easy to set up, very quiet. Plenty of ins and outs for most small studio setups. Makes using apps like Helix Native worth while as there is virtually no latency, very happy with my purchase. Only 4 stars for value because a month later a retailer is selling it for 60.00 less. Even so, very happy, still worth it at full price!

I’ve just received my m-audio air 192/4 and it’s exactly what I was looking for. I previously had a focusrite solo which was an “upgrade” from my m-track plus and while the focusrite worked as intended I was not so pleased with the direct monitoring that it offered. I loved my m-track plus because I was able to hear myself with the direct monitoring capabilities. Being able to switch between my computer and myself made making recordings and general communication so much more cemented in the moment. The focusrite didn’t really provide that for me. But this m-audio air interface brings me back and I’m very happy with it and glad I’ve upgraded from the focusrite. M-audio has been good to me. I will revise this review once I have more time with it. If it doesn’t break within a year, it will definitely be getting 5 stars.
