We have two small kittens and wanted to block off the spiral staircase we have as they decided it was great fun to play on, however, as you can see by the photo, the stairs have open risers and a drop down a whole floor below so we preempted any possible falls by investing in this gate. To be honest I was going to make a fabric gate with fabric I had and elastic but after faffing with measuring and pinning and hand sewing (Only about 10 inches) I thought I would look for an alternative. This does the trick perfectly. Please bear in mind that the kittens are only 13 weeks old and lightweight. They haven’t figured out (yet!) that they could probably climb up the mesh or push the mesh at the base and get under. For the moment it is providing a barrier for them which is the exact intention! And for our peace of mind it is worth every penny- (which is competitively priced)
Nb. We did choose to use the Command style hooks that have a tab release as some feedback on reviews advise that the hooks pull paint/wallpaper off – this is also mentioned in the instructions that the hooks supplied with the mesh gate have strong adhesive.
This is the cheapest small pet gate I can find on Amazon, but I use it as a infant gate, because I only want to use a few months, so I just want to buy a cheap one, the quality does not need to be very good. Unexpectedly, the quality of this small pet gate is really good, I think after a few months will certainly still be as new. It is super convenient to use, as long as the universal stick hook fixed to the wall, two telescopic iron tube installed to the pet door mesh, mesh four corners hang on the universal stick hook. It’s easy to disassemble, light and take up no space. It’s so simple that I don’t have to worry about the kids running out of the room. Recommend it.
