Brushless Cordless Top Handle Jig Saw
The DJV182Z is a top handle jigsaw powered by 18V Li-ion LXT slide type battery (not included) to produce 800 up to 3,500 rpm. The brushless motor efficiently uses energy to match torque and rpm to the changing demand of the application, and eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and efficiently for longer life.
The Jigsaw has a variable speed control dial to enable the user to match the speed to the application for optimal cutting performance in a variety of materials. Tool-less blade clamp for easy blade attachment and removal, trigger switch with lock on button and change lever for 3 orbital settings and straight cutting.“Soft no load” function to automatically reduce the motor speed during idling to suppress the vibration of the machine body.

Seriously good
Definitely class piece of kit. BUT beware! There are dozens of different blades available and selecting the exact right one is a nightmare. Luckily the general purpose blade is fine for almost everything.

I spent a long time deciding whether I needed a jigsaw or not for my portable workshop setup, but since buying this I’m a total convert. The slow start action makes it very easy to get things lined up before it ramps up to full power. Robust Makita feel as always and feels like it’ll go through anything like butter provided you have the right blade. Not too noisy either which is always a bonus. Super simple quick blade change but still seats the blade very firmly. Basically a very good sturdy bit of kit you won’t regret buying.
Great jigsaw
My old jigsaw was a cheap mains one. Upgraded to this and it a whole new world. Very pleased with it. Shame it didn’t come with the cutting guide.
If you have been looking at this jigsaw you may see reviews saying about how they don’t like the soft start on it. Well it can be turned off by a combination of button presses (just Google it). Personally I like the soft start function. The built in dust blower keeps the work line clear of debris and you can fit the dust tube and a hoover to it. ( for me that just defeats the whole point of a cordless tool to then attach a hose ). It has plenty of power and very easy to use once you get used to pushing the top button 1st before you can pull the trigger. It came with an anti splitter plastic fitting, the anti scratch plastic base pad and the dust attachment. Very happy and recommended.
Excellent piece of makita kit. All my kit is makita and it never lets me down. I’m a tradesman and this jigsaw is very accurate and very easy to use. Some reviews don’t like the safety button that you have to press before cutting but I soon got used to it and is a good safety addition.
Well, its a Makita!
Not sure how useful my review is, as i am a Makita fan, and from my point of view this jigsaw doesnt disappoint in any way. The biggest problem i had was deciding between the traditional D handle version and the more radical (perhaps) barrel handle machine. I dont think there is a wrong choice, but i decided to stick with the traditional style i am used to.
Its a Makita…says it all for me.

Excellent jigsaw
I bought this for work, it does what it says on the tin. Only slight annoyance is that the anti splinter plate vibrates off frequently, getting caught around the blade and scuffed up by it. It isn’t very secure.

Good weight, you don’t feel exhausted after a few cuts. Very nimble and also not to talk so you can get in difficult spots.
Very durable and very solid.
The blade changer makes life a lot easier and quicker without much hassle or messing around.
Also has a slow start feature which allows you to get your cut going

Handles and cut really well so very happy, but out of all there tools i have, drills, sander, circular saw etc this tool sucks my 5.0ah batteries the worst, still a lovely bit of kit though and would recommend.

Softanlauf kann manchmal nerve
Die Stichsge als Akkugert war nicht meine erste Wahl, da ich auch oft von unten sozusagen ber Kopf arbeite htte ich lieber eine Form ohne den Bgelgriff gekauft – aber die Makita DJV ist so klobig, dass ich sie nicht sauber greifen kann – hab keine kleinen Hnde und bin ber 1,90m gro. Also doch diese und es ist ok! Der Sanftanlauf ist manchmal nervig, wenn mann nur schnell was ablngen will – ist jetzt aber wohl Vorschrift- insgesamt eine gute und zuverlssige Maschine- Spanreischutz top!

Cuts well, well made and lighter than the previous version, however the lack of a variable speed trigger is annoying and has been replaced with a dial. The soft start can easily be turned off which is a good thing as soft start is a terrible idea anyway. It is a great tool but to be honest, the previous brushed model is a better all rounder in my opinion, also the lock/unlock button is kind of pointless really.

What a beast!
Finally replaced my wired jigsaw with this. Massively impressed. Love the safety button and slow start mechanism. The light and blower really do help though the blower can only do so much so don’t expect miracles. Cuts are perfect every time and the included blades have made me want to only ever use genuine Makita ones in future. I have been finding any reason to use this. Perfect weight to it too.

To reject slow start: set up speed to no 6, swith off top button, press the trigger ,scroll speed to one and back to 6, after that tool flashes ligts twice. Swith top button to on. Thats it.

Para el uso hay que presionar previamente el botn que est en la parte superior delantera, poco o nada hergonomico ya que siempre intentas hacer las cosas rpidas y giles. Cuando te acostumbras a esa pega la mquina es buena aunque se le podra pedir un poco ms de fuerza. Yo la devolv por qu tras compararla durante varios das de uso con la caladora DEWALT XR 18V pude comprobar que Makita se qued atrs en cuanto a la potencia y facilidad de uso por el botn de seguridad ya dicho y por qu la base para cortar a diferentes ngulos es necesaria una llave Allen ya que DEWALT no le hace falta llave, no se usa mucho pero se agradece para las pocas veces que tengas que cambiar el ngulo.

Was besseres habe ich noch nicht gehabt. Habe mich fr fr eine Akku Stichsge entschieden weil ich es Leid war, mit diesem elenden Kabel. Skeptisch, aber guter Dinge machte ich mich ans Werk. Die Stichsge ging wie Butter durch das Holz! Meine letzte Sge von Bosch (Kabel) vibrierte beim sgen. Diese jedoch liegt echt gut und ruhig in der Hand und macht genau das was sie soll! Ich bin in sehr begeistert.

I’ve got a circular saw and a table saw but haven’t owned a Jigsaw in over 10 years. I bought this as I wanted to cut some curved corners on some diy projects I was doing.
I was put off by memories of weak performance and battery power on my previous Jigsaws. I eventually went for this based on the reviews and the fact I could pay for it through the fantastic Amazon five payments scheme.
I was a little concerned when it arrived in a slightly tattered cardboard box, but any concerns I had quickly disappeared.
Due to this being a bare unit, I added one of my charged Makita batteries and started trying it out. Incredible ease of use. Very light weight. Easy to change blades. Cuts through wood like butter. And LOVE slow start feature.
Fantastic cutting ability and nothing like the jigsaws of old.
In summary, an incredible saw at an excellent price. One of the best power tools I’ve bought.

As soon as you get the know how to properly use this saw, it’s excellent.
Extremely fast cutting or heavy timbers.
I crosscut 9×2 etc using it and a Stanley 12 speed square.
No need to reach for my circular saw.
Brilliant also for scrolling.

Habe mir die Sge hauptschlich fr die Arbeit mit Holz gekauft. Liegt gut in der Hand und sgt leicht durch die Bretter. Die mitgelieferten Sgebltter bleiben lange scharf.

Sin duda ,el no usar cable de corriente es su fuerte. Para cortes varios se hace cmoda . No creo que sea tan potente como la que va con cable , que tambin utilizo para trabajos mes exigentes La uso 9 de cada 10 veces . Es mas verstil.

Great cordless jigsaw
I’ve always preferred Makita kit over other rival brands, and this did not disappoint. I’ve used it several times, for various different jobs, along with the other Makita tools I purchased. Never had any issues with any of them!
Brilliant with one tiny flaw
Love it. The only flaw is the mini Allen key that comes with it.. it will fall out and you will lose it. You’ll replace the key… and you’ll lose that one too.
