Fab padlock very heavy duty and secure. Those moaning about the packaging need to go to the gym. I’m a lightweight grandmother and 2 seconds with scissors and it was out! You cut the tab holding the keys on first then use the key to open the padlock and slide it out of the tab. Easy peasy! Great item will buy again for the other shed.
I was looking for a strong lock to replace a combination padlock that had seized up and had to be sawn off. This fits the bill very well.
Excellent padlock – I am using it for securing my indoor self-storage unit, and it looks stronger and better than everybody else’s there. The packaging, as some have reported, is tricky, but it does tell you how to remove it on the back – snip off the plastic toggle holding the keys in place (requires some force so use kitchen scissors), then use one of the keys to unlock and remove the padlock itself. Simples!
I’ve owned four of these locks since 2016. They’ve been used externally on my tool sheds in UK weather. All locks still function great. Haven’t had any issues with the bearings seizing and I’ve not needed to lubricate the cylinders. I’ve read reviews about the rubber lock shield being loose, just heat it in hot water and bend back to the right shape. I’ve also read reviews about the cover warping on the joints – this is cosmetic and doesn’t affect the functionality of the lock. I’d recommend these if you’ve got equipment and tools you need to keep secure. I’ve just bought another one for my gate, and will continue to buy these over equivalent brands due to the strengthened hasp.
The lock has been made well & seems sturdy in its construction even the little cover over the lock entry is good. Yes I’d recommend.
After practicing lockpicking for a few weeks, this lock stopped me and then laughed at me!
So far so good. It does the job. I haven’t had it long enough to see if it’s weatherproof. It is being used on a lot outdoors. It feels like a sturdy lock and I can’t complain.
Se ve fuerte y resistente. Tuve que pedir un reemplazo porque el primero que llego no funcionaba. El servicio de Amazon muy bueno y en un par de das tena ya una unidad que funcionaba perfectamente. A ver si dura
I’ve found that you generally get what you pay for with padlocks and comparing the prices and pictures is a useful indicator of how good it will be. This is case with this item. No complaints
A good size, well made lock. Bought for the garden gate. The shackle is a good size for the job and the rubberised exterior looks like it will withstand the weather for a long time. The key operates well in the lock.
Good quality and work well. I’ve been using them out doors for a few months now and not one mark or rust. Works good quality and great price. Perfect combination.
We are using this on our outdoor shed very strong and sturdy, good value for money. I’d definitely recommend it.
It’s weatherproof and very strong also good value for money, i will be ordering again.
I was curious about the 1 star reviews and why so many
The amount of people who actually tried to cut the lock from the packaging ffs
I read 1 or 2 then I was hooked and had to scroll right the way to the end
Someone was even not happy getting 4 keys he only wanted 3
Thats made my afternoon fair play
Bought this for use on my bike shed to replace a previous Master padlock which still works, it seems very sturdy, needed a bit of drip oil to loosen it up, all seems fine, the packaging is robust but the trick is to release the keys and then unlock the padlock to release – easy when you know how!
I bought this a few months ago for our store shed, and so far it’s doing everything I’d ask of it. It’s sturdy, easy to open and close and so far has resisted the elements. Will report back if it stops doing any of those!
I’ve had a few “weatherproof” padlocks over the years on my shed and garden gate. Different brands and costs, and ALL have rusted and ceased up over time. Was starting to give up. Thought I’d give this padlock a go given the good reviews and I’ve been really impressed so far. It’s been about 6 months and many rainstorms and frosty spells later, the padlock has stood up to it all. Feels like a solid mechanism when you put the key in. So far so good.
This is a good item. I struggled with the weatherproof rating though. This is replacing an older one that secures the gate to my back-garden and so is exposed to the elements. The rubber covering is good against the worst of the weather, however, there is little protection from water running down the “posts” into the mechanism. As a result, within a year the “spring” release didn’t work and after a couple years the “posts” needed oil and lubricating spray in order to release — hence the replacement. The product could be improved, but for the price (or even for a higher price) there really isn’t anything else that I am aware off that can reasonably compete.
This lock was frustratingly difficult to open. Scissors were too large to fit through the bar to cut, and not strong enough to cut through the tab that hold the keys. I had to saw the keys free using a knife, which then allowed me to open the lock!
I eventually got to use it on the lock-up I am renting, it fits perfectly, and seems to work well. It feels very sturdy, so far so good.
After the disappointment of numerous other cheap locks for a garden gate that rusted or seized up, I settled on this one.
The mechanism is smooth. I’m not convinced the rubber flap covering the keyhole is completely weatherproof, it is a bit flimsy. But this is a good lock.
So here’s a tip if your lock is going to be outside in all weathers:
Get a small ziplock bag, and cover the lock with it. Yes, it really is as simple as that. It keeps the rain off, and you won’t find yourself cursing at not being able to open the thing.
I’ve done this for two months now in wet autumn conditions — the lock has stayed dry, and is working perfectly.
If you don’t want to do that and are fed up with ‘weatherproof’ locks that don’t work, buy a marine grade lock instead. There’s no guarantee it’ll stand up to freezing temperatures, but it should protect against water ingress. I bought one for the second lock on the gate, and covered it with a ziplock bag too. It’s stayed dry and still working nicely.
Firstly this appears a sturdy, secure and well made lock. It comes with four keys. I’m using it to secure a rear gate. It’s difficult to get excited about something functional.
Secondly, if the lock appears unsuitable upon first inspection don’t fret. Instead simply use the packaging instead as it’s so strong and difficult to remove the lock from I’m pretty sure it’d deter the potential thieves! It took me and my wife 15mins to remove the lock from the packaging. I had to use a saw.
Good quality lock. Packaging is hard to remove as some reviews mention but I was able to get the lock off in the end. Comes with 4 keys which is super handy.
Maybe the protective surface could have been more robust, only the winter will tell. Otherwise nice quality.
In the spring I may add another star, and purchase more.
To release the lock use a small sharpe knife or better still a junior hacksaw to cut through the stem of the plastic pin holding the keys in place it’s about 4mm in dia and very tough, open the lock job done.
PS If the Locks half as good as the packaging there will never be a break in.
Seems sturdy and will at least make it difficult to remove if someone attempted to cut it.
Lock was perfect, secure packaging. Needed a very secure lock to protect a historical building and enough keys for everyone on the project. We chose this lock as previous lock had to be angle grinded off due to weather damage. This one is nicely protected and I feel for the duration of use will continue to stay that way.

As you can see from the photo I’ve attached, the chrome is starting to oxidise after 3 months of external use.
The padlock still works well and is used daily, but doesn’t look as nice as it should after such a short time outdoors.
I’ve had lots of Masterlock padlocks in the past. They don’t last forever outside, and can’t be expected to, but I’m surprised this one is getting tatty so soon.
Good weight behind and a decent deterrent.
I’m knocking off a star as the small rubber piece that covers the keyhole fell out. By no means a deal breaker. Two sets of keys and a nice feeling mechanism.
Very well made heavy strong, I would highly recommend this lock.Good with a strong chain to lock my bike up with..Also its water proof. Abit expensive.
The padlock itself is hefty and solid, I trust it to stand up to some punishment.
The rubber/plastic casing though has already started to come off so that’s not great, but to be fair it has nothing to do with the padlock mechanism or anything, purely cosmetic
Delivers exactly as advertised. A feature I really like is the little rubber guard over the key lock. Should last for years.
strong and sturdy padlock had one on my other shed for over a year been out in the weather and no rust got this one because my other lock of another brand was locking up with rus
Sturdy padlock with plenty of keys and waterproof, ideal for the garden shed
Well made, affordable, strong, and should resist the Scottish winter weather. Looks incredibly durable. The 4 keys are a handy thought: we now have spare should the need arise. Thank you.
Needed a lock for the new Keter box bought to store my small garden tools and pots. I did look at some of the combi locks but the reviews for those didn’t fill me with confidence, so decided to look for a simpler option. This fitted the bill nicely. Comes with 4 keys so little chance of losing them. Opens and closes well. Very pleased.
Bought this to lock my garden shed, very sturdy, manages the rain without getting rusty, would recommend
I’d read the customer reviews about the impenetrable packaging, and I was a bit sceptical, but my doubts disappeared when the lock arrived! I used a large scissors to prise off the small circlip securing the 4 keys, then used one of the keys to unlock the padlock from the packaging. TBH, the circlip removal would have been much easier with a “needle nose” pliers, but mine was in my toolbox in the garage…
The lock looks and feels very sturdy, and it is now securing the “padbolt” on my garden gate. My only quibble is with the keys, which have an oblong cut-out on one side, instead of the traditional hole at the top, so they stick out from all the other keys on my key rings.
The lock has a limited lifetime warranty, which is reassuring, but only time will tell if it as reliable as the 25-year-old Yale model P75 brass padlock it has replaced. In fact, the Yale lock was still functional, but whatever secures the shackle inside the lock had worn out, and the shackle had a tendency to spring up and out of the body of the lock – inconvenient if I fumbled the catch and the shackle disappeared under the fence into my neighbour’s garden!
This item is great value for money it’s weatherproof sturdy and easy to use.
Although I’m a member of the Vine programme, this was a personal purchase.
I have Master outdoor padlocks on all of my gates and sheds and they have performed exceptionally well for several years.
One of them, which I brought with me when we moved into our current home nineteen years ago, is becoming difficult to close, so I had no hesitation in purchasing a similar lock to replace it.
This lock is very strong, is rubber coated and the key hole has a flip cover to keep water out. It’s supplied with four keys.
Perfect!!
Being used for my storage lock up so very pleased as sturdy and comes with 4 keys so happy with purchase
Can’t speak to the durability or how waterproof of this yet as have only just purchased but wanted to comment after reading other reviews who mentioned how hard it was to remove from the packaging.
You do not need to saw, cut or break the thick plastic ring attaching it to the packet, you simply need to unlock the padlock and thread it through. Easy
This is a brilliant lock it is smooth on action and built for the job.
I worled the way I wanted it to and is good for outdoor use.
A solid padlock that has shown no signs of seizing or corrosion in the few months of use so far.
Only issue is that the plastic flap that covers the lock is very rubbery, it came off very easily and if i push it back in it place it doesnt stay for long.

This is a pretty decent lock for my needs but I don’t understand the need for 4 keys. Even locks for front doors only come with 3 and that’s enough. But aside from that it’s a pretty sturdy lock.
I don’t quite understand those having difficulty getting the lock from its packaging. You just snip the plastic bit holding the keys and then use a key to unlock the padlock from the package.
The lock is very sturdy and of good quality and would recommend
Used to lock a bike shed and seem secure so far. No problems with this lock, the key fits nicely, and it has held up nicely against the wind and rain with no rust.
After trying many padlocks that rusted quickly even though they were regularly treated with wd40 I found Master locks. This is the third one I’ve purchased. The other two are as good as new after several years even though they are outside exposed to all weather. Thoroughly recommended.
Very good this is my second one for my shed as my 1st one is on my gate and had for many years and still going strong great thank u
I like that the key hole is covered, no chance of that area rusting out. The whole lock is solid & well coated. Great quality.
Seem very sturdy. Have held through some of the recent wet weather. Can’t comment further on longevity as I only recently purchased.
So far so good.
This lock is sturdy and has given me peace of mind in protecting my mobility scooter.
Great lock! Use this on my studio door and it is perfect. Just what I wanted.
After reading the reviews I was mixed about purchasing this. The padlock is superb, and has been in place as extra security for the lock on the garage door for several weeks now. It is accessed daily and is still as good as day one in all aspects, this padlock therefore was a great buy at great value, It gives great piece of mind. As in previous reviews it was a little tricky to open the packaging but after reading the instructions it was accomplished quickly.
Needed a padlock for my gate and this heavy duty lock is perfect.
Sturdy decent size padlock. Hasn’t stiffened up in some seriously wet weather. Key cover seems a bit flimsy, so not expecting to to last long. Only time will tell.
Very sturdy. Feels secure. Comes with spare keys. Trusted to keep garage safe.
eally good quality padlock, sturdy construction and weatherproof, overall very impressed.
This is a sturdy lock. Used for garden shed, the key turns no problem even when it went below-3. I would recommend
Excellent product. Good quality service. Arrived on time. Would recommend.
just what i wanted for my front iron gate. weatherproof. locks easy. ( just snaps to)
Has been out side in the shed for many months now and performing well.
Just remember to use the keys to remove it from the packaging!
Great, sturdy padlock that has been weatherproof so far. I bought 2 to lock large garden storage boxes and they are perfect for that. Easy to open and close.
Strong, secure bullet proof. Noone will get into my storage shed now.
Excellent heavy duty lock for outdoor gate. Previous one did eventually seize up with rust inside the lock. but it took 10 years so I replaced it with the same.
Great padlock, very sturdy and I like the flap that covers where you put the key in as it stops moisture entering the lock. Bought this for my shed.
The last one i brought from Screwfix as an outdoor padlock just let the water in and rusted quickly, this looks to be of superior quality, locks easily, comes with 4 keys, which is handy and suggests it may be built to last hopefully a few years out there
Warmth?! Why does Amazon ask me to review the warmth of a padlock?! I guess its warmer than an ordinary padlock thanks to the rubber casing, if that’s important to you!
Weatherproofing looks good and is certainly pretty sturdy. Definitely in the middle security wise, not easy to break but I expect bolt cutters or a hammer would get it open eventually. All good and as yours expect from the descriptio
To big for what I needed. Couldn’t send back as opened!
Really good padlock. It’s sturdy and completely weatherproof. Really pleased.
I’ve only had the lock for a day , it looks and feels sturdy , which is what you want. For longevity and being weatherproof , only time will tell
This padlock was recommended to me by my daughter. She’s had it for some time now and hasn’t had any of the quality issues others have had. The lock is sturdy and I think the weatherproofing will be much better than the one I’ve just replaced.
As regards the the packaging issues some are having I found it easy to remove if you cut away the keys first. Cut the black plastic strap holding the keys from the back of the packaging with a pair of scissors. Then turn the packaging over and cut off the black plastic “mushroom” shaped strap that is holding the top of the keys, I used a Stanley knife for this. Take the keys off and then simply unlock the padlock from the packaging.
I was looking for a waterproof padlock for my side gate. This was just the job for what I needed.
This lock I find endlessly entertaining – its strong as an ox, but relatively easy to pick. So my advice is, don’t lock up your valuables with it.
If you know what you’re doing, you can pick this open in a couple of minutes – but this was the first lock I ever practiced picking on, and I managed it by accident in 20 minutes, so that should give you some idea as to what you’re buying.
This was the third padlock I bought for my garden shed and finally I am happy with the lock. The others promised to be weatherproof but didn’t last very long. Happy with this one.
Top quality well made lock. One of the best locks I have ever purchased. Fast delivery 5 star plus product.
Only just received and fitted to shed. Seems a really good quality padlock. Worth every Penny. Solid, robust and hopefully very durable. Comes with 4 keys. Would buy again.
Nothings been nicked yet, hasn’t rusted. Feels solid and strong
Very sturdy padlock. Bit bigger than I needed but I’m not complaining
Very good quality lock I have used it for my outside storage box
Only had a short time but seems very sturdy. Lock is at the bottom and covered which is good. Good padlock.
great padlock , only negative seen the exact same one in B&M for 3.99 so if you have time I’d shop around before buying
Very strong padlock and rubberised for outdoor use. I have used it to lock my garden shed. I do struggle with opening it and closing it but that’s my age!
It feels strong, I bought it for my keter shed fits perfect, comes with 4 keys which is handy. Very happy with my purchase would buy agai
Excellent value. Strong and sturdy with plenty of spare keys.
Looks and feels strong also came with 4 keys. Very fast delivery
Solid quality padlock just a shame it’s a bi too short to be suitable for my outdoor Keter storage shed
Great once you managed to get it out the packaging, needed a hacksaw !
Fantastic heavy duty lock. Shank wasnt as long as I needed but just used it as a replacement for shed and works great and plenty of spare keys.
Excellent delivery and a really good looking padlock- and it is ideal to use on my gate. A bonus, too , to have four keys in case of loss.
I liked the way the opening for the key has a weatherproof flap. It is very sturdy, four keys also good. I feel that now my garden gate is very secure.
Not that much you can say about a lock, however I bought this to lock a storage container in the garden. Does the job and seems very solid. Only been in use a short time, but no sign of rain getting in and affecting anything. Very pleased.
Fantastic lock and much cheaper than all the other stores I looked at.
This padlock is sturdy and well made. I like the flap which protects the keyhole from the rain. It fits well on my garden gate and should deter intruders
Good lock looks good a little expensive but perfect for what I need it for.
I originally bought the Masterlock M115EURDLF (48mm wide) and whilst this will go through the side lock of the Keter Max, it will only go through the lid lock upside-down – even though it’s water resistant there’s a small hole in the plastic cover over the lock mechanism, so it’s likely to have some water ingress in sustained rain. The M515EURDLH however fits very nicely in the lid lock the correct way up (54mm wide) and the smaller lock still fits on the side bolt area (although it’s not really required as a single lock will secure the qhole unit. Good price, although having had rhe lock for less than an hour only rime will tell if the lock is as durable as it initially looks and feels.
Good seller (GiftCo) who responded to my enquiry* very promptly and delivery was also very fast.
* The headline product description for the M515EURDLH states 48mm width, whereas it is in fact 54mm width (the M115EURDLF is 48mm).
Main quality: it looks tough and is though. Tough enough to scare the opportunistic petty crim trying to nick my bike. On occasion this lock has been dragged, after it fell inadvertently still attached to the cable, for several miles through puddles and muck, and it still works without fail (although it looks the worse for it)
Really can highly recommend this lock. I’ve tried others but they rust and cease up very quickly, the Master Lock really does what it claims to do and we’ve not had any problem with them.
