A big hi
Absolutely wonderful and received with excitement as I gifted to my other half. BBQs this summer we’re a weekly occurrence! Bring in Summer 2024.
Food was cooked to perfection just make sure you keep the phone close so it doesn’t lose connection.
Enables you to cook roast beef exactly as you want. Dead easy to set up use. No more constantly opening oven door and taking roast out in the middle of all your other preparations to check temperature, no more error. Worked really well through the thick doors of my old Aga. I am looking forward to trying this gadget out on other recipes.
Perfectly cook roast beef
Just purchased on the other day on prime day and just tried it for the first time. My roast beef was cooked perfectly. The product work like the say. The only downside is the slighty steep price.
Really accurate giving first class results
Have now used this product a few times, for steak, chicken, salmon fillets and baked potatoes. Each time the results have been excellent. Rare steak, moist, but well cooked chicken & salmon and fluffy potatoes. No need to weigh items or use guesswork to get fantastic results everytime Meater
does all the calculating. Great buy. Highly recommended.
Good produc
We’ve had this product for over a year, it is more a case of user error as opposed to hardware issues with a few cooks not being what I was trying but can’t fault the equipment! It really is a neat gadget and I wouldn’t ever be without one. 15 thermometers haven’t lasted and can’t be used whilst cooking with BBQ/Oven. it really is a kitchen essential and well worth the price.
Fantastic bit of ki
Perfect for rotisserie cooking or bbq cooking. Really decent for those long, low and slow cooks.
If I was buying it again, would probably invest in the Wi-Fi block one so you can leave the house and still keep an eye on the food.
Smart heat probe for meat cooking
I bought this product to cook my first ever Christmas turkey and it was effective in this regard. Setting it up and what not is relatively easy, as is getting to grips with the app and how it works. After using it for a while, I get the feeling that it slightly underestimates cooking time if the probe is not properly inserted, this is the most difficult part of using it, and has required googling the profiles of various cuts of meat to understand the thickest parts. That’s said, I am happy with the product, and I have had a number of great outcomes.
MEATER probes
Great temp probes from use on the bbq to cooling chicken in the oven or steak in the pan. I would like to be able to differentiate between the probes I have when they are inserted in to meat lol as it would be easier when cooking several steaks. If I could name them I would know which steak was the ready one without effort
But I use them a lot and love them 5/5
This is, somehow, a very American product – and not in a completely good way. Its box, which doubles as a charging station for the probe and a retransmitter for the signal to your phone feels like cardboard with a faux-wood finish and can get grubby very quickly.
The phone app is ludicrously gaudy with alarms, flashing lights and vivid graphics.
How well does it work? Well, turn off any power management on your phone (or the app will throw a tantrum) reduce the minimum suggested temperature by 10 degrees C (or your meat will be cooked to a ‘safe’ temperature = overcooked) and the Meater works… OK.
The fact that the probe can cope with (reasonable) oven temperatures is impressive, but the dire warnings about exposing it to direct flame makes me wonder how long it would survive on a charcoal bbq or wood-fired grill.
It would be a much better product with an elegant, practical, kitchen-friendly German-crafted recharging receptacle and some good French understanding of how to cook meat properly without cremating it.
Would I buy another? Not at full price, certainly, but maybe when it is, once more, heavily discounted. Verdict? Meh.
Useful for BBQ and replacement for oven probe.
It doesn’t like changing temperature targets after cook start that’s not so good. On the plus side I slow cooked a large joint of beef on a Weber charcoal BBQ 8 hour cook never had to lift lid or add charcoal brilliant accessory. Wish they were a bit cheaper. Even long range version lost comms a few times. They should make a web based version so we don’t have to use Bluetooth.
Perfectly cooked everytime
Great product, im pleased we have these devices that enhance our ability to perfect every meal.
Cooked chicken breast, pork chop and rump steak so far, all with great results.
The rest time is equally as important as the cook time and it even tells you this.
Simple set up and great app.
It really has taken my cooking to the next level.
Will try with larger joints in the next few months.
No more guessing
If like me you rely on Voiceover to interact with your phone, the accompanying App for this thermometer is very accessible, and the safety notch up to which the probe must be inserted in to a piece of meat can clearly be felt.
If you decide to purchase one of these, you’ll be able to consign either the touch test, asking for sighted assistance or guess work to history.
I’ve used mine on both the Barbecue and in the oven, perfect results thus far at least.
A couple of cautionary notes:
I can’t speak for the accessibility of the accompanying android App.
I haven’t yet tried to connect to a smart home assistant.
There is a fair amount of probe which needs to be inserted ahead of the aforementioned safety notch, it will take some getting used to for a smaller piece of meat, persistence is the key here.
If you’re totally reliant on a screen reader and are thinking that more than one probe might be handy, do not buy the meter block. To the best of my knowledge, some functions of that device need to be performed via the inbuilt touch screen, to the best of my understanding as said, I don’t want to risk buying one only to find that I can’t use it. Wait for a deal to come along and buy an additional Meater Plus.
It’s happy days from me, happier still next deal when I can buy another.
Awesome bit of kit bought this as an aid for my offset smoker to monitor meat and ambient temp at the same time. When set up, very easy to set up as well, you can set alerts for when the temperature falls bellow and rises above a certain temp, allowing me to get on with other jobs knowing my brisket was safe.
The app was easy to navigate and full of useful tips, info and video’s.
After a seven hours in a smoker the probe was pretty black and I was concerned about getting it clean but it rubbed off with warm water and a spouge scrubber, happy days.
This little device lets you know how long your cook will take, what temp your meat is, what the ambient temperature is in your oven and when to take your meat out and how long to rest for.
Highly recommend the Meater+.
Used a few times now. Good results. Small niggles:
1. Range. Phone disconnects if I move too far away and the fact you need the box near the MEATER as well is a bit weird but have learned.
2. Estimated cooking time. Took about 20 minutes to give me an estimate on yesterday’s roast. Not expecting instant but maybe 5 – 10 minutes?
3. When you first get it, you need to charge it. Meant I couldn’t use it for its first planned cook.
On the plus side:
1. Results are good
2. You can add in alerts for other things (e.g., turn the meat after x minutes)
3. It works on the BBQ too.
I was sceptical about this MEATER but it’s great the only problem I have Is it times the meat for any poultry or meat your cooking as they would in a top restaurant so since I came out of my cancer treatment they always advised to cook my meat all the way through now we all know when we go to a restaurant and order say a steak they ask how would you like it very well done I say but it always comes back bloody in the middle and so does the MEATER it cooks great but I like my meat cooked all the way through I can hear the people say but that’s not how they cook in restaurants if you visit a top restaurant these top chefs have their meat reared on a farm they know and and how it’s been treated and what they have given it not the meat we buy is from anywhere in the world and false fed god knows what so why would you not want to cook the meat all the way through to kill off anything that you don’t want to digest, they are always telling us to cook our food throughly because the meat has probably been genetically modified food which we all know has properties in which we eat and can change our genes if you think this is wrong look it up for yourselves, now I’m not saying that you should cook your meats a certain way do what you like but me I want it fully cooked and the MEATER doesn’t accommodate this, but all in all it’s great.
Bought this for slow roasts and BBQ cooks. It definitely works although the ambient temperature seems to be a few degrees off.
Also although this states it is Wi-Fi it’s somewhat hidden that you will need another device running the software to enable to cloud side of it over Wi-Fi otherwise you are limited to Bluetooth, was ok for me as I had done my research but nothing on Amazon explicitally states a 2nd device aside from your mobile phone is required so be aware.
Love the ease of use of the app and the recommended cooking temps for each type of cook, Estimated time a bit hit and miss but much better if the meat is has warmed to room temperature prior – as it should be.
Best of the bes
My cooking has never been better since i started using this thermometer. Works brilliantly. No more overdone meats! Easy to use and easy to clean.
Wonderful gadget for the chef who has everything.
This is a great gadget that really makes a difference to cooking meat. It really take the uncertainty out of cooking poultry and helps those tempted to over/under cook. It’s expensive but.. it’s great to use and is easy to clean and store.
Perfect Cooking Every Time
Why have I never bought a MEATER before. Perfect roasts! Beef. Wow!
Sunday roast perfec
Husband dead chuffed. No need to guess when beef is medium rare and sends up dates to your mobile.
I have lived in fear of cooking roast beef or lamb for a long time. NO LONGER! The MEATER is officially my new best friend. It was simple to set up and very user friendly. The most complicated part was making sure I selected the correct cut of beef that I was cooking! Not a problem. I read the label! Pop the meat in the oven… and, well, do as you are told. Take it out when notified. (Breathe) Rest. Eat. Sorted. Perfect beef. Hoorah. No longer scared. Thank you!
I recently purchased the MEATER Plus 50m Long Range Smart Wireless Meat Thermometer and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.
The setup process was quick and easy and the app is user-friendly and provides detailed cooking information. The thermometer provides accurate temperature readings and the long range feature allows me to monitor my food from a distance, which is great for outdoor grilling.
I also appreciate the sleek design and compact size of the thermometer. Overall, I would highly recommend the MEATER Plus 50m Long Range Smart Wireless Meat Thermometer to anyone who wants to take their cooking game to the next level.
Game change
I can’t praise this enough. Improves roasts 10 fold. I have never had gammon, beef or chicken as good. Not enough is being said about this produc
What a game changer.
Bang it in the meat, tell the app what is it and how your cooking it. Gives an estimated time and I’ve not had a bad bit of steak or chicken since.
I bought this primarily for use on my BBQ rotisserie as my wired temperature probes can’t be used here for obvious reasons. The pairing to my phone is seamless and the cooking times are very accurate.
One word of warning. The probe does not like high heat so steer clear of searing a steak with the probe in place. It’s better to use the reverse sear method and remove the probe before finishing your steak over extremely high heat.
Saw a friend using a Meater before I bought one, so knew what to expect and had good insight into how to use it. The device is much more accurate than I have suggested but the reality is that you have to become more involved by understanding exactly how you want each joint cooked, and how each joint will cook; you don’t just plug and play. The end product is not as simple as deciding on your required temperature, you need to get to know how you like your meat. My first attempt undercooked a lamb leg very badly, my second was better with a chicken and I think I’ll get better as I gain experience but we don’t cook joints that often, so it will take a while. That said, this is a hugely pleasing and high quality gadget.
This is really easy to use
Once you get it set up it’s easy to use. Needed a wee bit of help but I got there. Good device
MEATER magic
It works so well, easy to use. My meat is going to be so good going forward No over or undercooks.. must have
Amazing transforms how you cook
WOW, I love cooking and this has removed all previous ways of cooking meat from a time based method to believing that the heater plus will be accurate; It is totally accurate and enables meat to be cooked so well.
Very accurate
Very easy to use and I did a beef joint medium rare and is was spot on.
Great produc
Does what it says on the tin. Just keep an eye out for deals
Excelle
Excellent thermometer. Easy to connect to your phone via the app and Bluetooth. Had the best steak ever using this
Amazing bit of ki
Used it for the first time yesterday on a filet. Absolutely perfect medium rare. Really easy to set up and use with iPhone. Way, way better than the wired Thermopro I used to have. The old adage is true – “buy cheap, buy twice”.
Great piece of equipment.
Never under/over cook your food again.
I bought this on prime day so was quite a bit cheaper. Works great, there is a little bit of set up but not complicated. Make sure base is near the probe so no connection issues. Makes bbq a lot easier & tastier when cooked right.
Perfect meat probe
This probe may be expensive, but once you have it you will understand why and know it’s worth every penny. Forget all those tangled wires and switch to this truly wireless probe. Another great feature is it’s TWO PROBES IN ONE! The pointy end is the internal meat temperature sensor and the handle end is the external/ambient temperature sensor. The accompanying app is a real triumph and takes all the guesswork out of cooking and so far has not put a foot wrong since owning. Your cooks are also stored for future reference and notes can be added. All in all, this is the best cooking device I’ve ever owned.
Superb device!
I cooked a pork loin joint for the first time in my newly acquired airfrier.
I also used my Meater for the first time.
I programmed my Meater on my iPad and watched everything from my living room.
The joint was cooked to perfection!
meater for the first time.
Incredible Accuracy
I have been wanting one of these for so long so took full advantage when they were on offer.
Downloading and set up of the app is really easy, connecting via Bluetooth is also a doddle and you can be cooking in 5 minutes!
The thermometer itself is literally just a metal stick on a wooden block (which requires batteries to charge the device) but don’t let that put you off! The magic is inside and it really works wonders when cooking meat. I have done Pork, Beef Joints, Steak, Chicken and lots more and its been spot on every single time. I have even tested it with an older thermometer that I owned which is from another well known brand and they echo each other with temperatures.
It can get a bit scary when first using if cooking a Sunday dinner for example for the app to give you a estimated finish time so you can plan your other dishes, but don’t let that put you off, it does reveal it eventually and gives you plenty of time to get the other components ready for your meal. It also allows you the correct amount of time for resting which is also very accurate.
The only thing that I do check is the UK recommended temperatures and programme them manually for my required temperate on some meats because I believe it’s set for the American market, which is largely the same as ours but I think their pork is “ready” at a lower temperature than what we have in the UK, so it’s worth keeping that in mind.
It’s also worth noting how high you can cook with the probe inserted, for example you are likely to damage it in a Pizza Oven at 900 degrees.
The range is good but definitely not 50 metres so try not to be too far away.
I would absolutely recommend this, so next time it’s on a deal, try to get one!
Easy to set up and use.
The App was easy and intuitive to set up and select the right cut and cook time for a large joint. I used mine the first time on a silverside joint for 7 people which I hadn’t tried before. Not one to get wrong! The MEATER helped me cook it to perfection with minimal monitoring. I already used a thermometer to measure the internal temperature of meat but this still requires estimated times and a few checks towards the end of the cook requiring lifting the lid and disturbing the constant temperature of the BBQ. This takes all the guess work out. My son recommended it to me as a “game changer” after buying one and I fully agree. Highly recommended if you do serious cooking on the BBQ probably not required if you are just an occasional burger and sausage kind of BBQ cook.
Finally got one before the wife found out!
Not sure what I did before getting one of these. Amazing product, great range and accuracy.
Works on my iPhone, Apple watch and Alexa show
Takes the guesswork out of cooking times and should reduce energy costs in the long term.
Easy to set up and use. Finished cooking 3 minutes quicker than the time I’d set on the air fryer, so will help saving energy.
Better than the inkbird IMO
It’s more expensive than the inkbird wired thermostat but the software makes up for it. It’s much better at finding what you’re cooking and handling rest times.
I used it on my rotisserie in a lump of beef, it worked fine and was very easy to use.
There are cheaper ones around but this one looks good and works. So easy to set up and use.
Set and forge
Works really well – app is easy to use and probe seems accurate against my thermopen.
Superb
I got this on Prime day and so it had about 40 per cent off the list price. Fantastic value. And it works superbly. I am so happy with it. Cooking joints has never been easier. This is such a smart piece of cooking kit. Very impressive.
Miles better than a standard meat thermomete
A game changer as far as accurate cooking goes. Able to see the oven temperature is 10oC lower than expected. Being able to watch the graph of meat temperature to not just know when it is done, but being able to accurately predict when it will be done so I dont overshoot.
Only criticism? No way it is good for 50m connection to my phone. It struggles over 20m but so far, this has not been a limitation.
Nifty little gadge
Love this thermometer, works great and makes cooking much easier, the app has some great features too
Love it! I'm just waiting for Meater to produce a UNIVERSAL FAN CONTROLLER for kamados now. ❤🙏
Faffing with wires is no fun, and Meater have designed a quality product!
I do hope they produce a universal wireless fan controller for kamado BBQs before anyone else as I love there app integration and usage. Excellent UX!
Very impressive
Very impressive, but it seems to overcook everything by about 2 degrees so I recommend taking off the heat 7 degrees before the target temp rather then waiting for MEATER to tell you to take it off the heat 5 degrees before finish
Irritatingly expensive but works really well
Perfect for BBQs and Air fryer, I didn’t want to like this one because of the price. But honestly, some of the best joints I have ever cooked with the cooking time and resting time function with the app.
Brilliant.
We had a professional BBQ chef come to our home for a demonstration /cookery lesson & she used one of these. It works really well, together with an app & makes life so much easier. There are no trailing wires to a monitor to tangle with which is especially useful of you are cooking on a spit. It takes all the guesswork out and is equally brilliant in the oven which will be great at Christmas , as when the whole country are roasting turkeys the oven temp & timings never quite work out.
When you identify the piece of meat (Only US cuts are listed ) then the cooking part is easy.
The connection to the probe worked perfectly even though my BBQ is solid steal, and the lid was closed.
Meat choice can be difficult because only USA cuts of meat are listed on the app. So identifying a UK cut can be a bit of a guess.
The results have been very good.
Magic
So easy to use and ensure good results it is like magic – amazing!
I have used this just twice – once with a whole chicken, once with tomahawk steak.
The chicken was great, but no surprise and it’s not so hard to get good results anyway.
The tomahawk though proved the value of the Meater. As a thick steak with bone in I was nervous of judging readiness by finger prod test as I don’t cook these often enough to judge well.
I was surprised to find tomahawk listed in the menu of set up options so set up (to medium rare) was easy. I cooked it at high searing temperature so could have had little margin for error in timing.
Results were bang on in terms of cooking time (prediction and finish alert) and also of doneness. The MEATER also gave a resting time reading, but that seemed a bit shorter than I would normally have allowed – so I gave it a bit more (as was still prepping sides).
It certainly gave me confidence for the trickier cuts
Almost perfect, poor instructions
The concept is great, the form is great, and the function is great, once you realise the limitations: TLDR you’re paying a lot for the wireless function.
The initial setup is straightforward, bear in mind the recharging process is derived from a AAA battery. Pairing the device is easy over Bluetooth, and providing you realise that the range between the probe and the receiver is quite short, especially if you’re using an oven. If like me, you’re fridge is close to a built in oven, then it will attach magnetically to it. The meater + has a good range from the receiver to your phone or tablet, and unless you live in a castle or your grill is on the ground floor of a high rise block of flats you’ll have no problem connecting it all up. In use, it’s ridiculously simple, the app is intuitive and easy to use, and the UI is perfect, ideal for a tablet set up on a kitchen worktop. However the confusion arises over the extended range option, which uses the meater cloud connection. You’ll need to register your app account with their cloud for this to work, but you’ll need more than one phone or tablet to be able to roam away from home and still access the data. So big -ve point #1 is you need more than one device, so if you don’t, you’d need to add the cost of a tablet or phone to use this! Issue #2 is that the instructions fail to mention that for Android users, this remote feature is automatic, ie so long as both devices are logged into the cloud account, and the device left at home is connected to your WiFi network. I discovered randomly this feature from a YouTube reviewer, meater’s own instructions on their website are confusing, or rather missing this important point!
Other than that, it’s worked well so far, and wireless is great for outdoor cooking!
Must have meat thermomete
After hearing about Meater I did my research and eventually opted for the Meater plus. Glad I did as I’ve cooked a few joints on the bbq and in the oven and it has been superb. Most notably was a joint of beef cooked on the oven which I normally overcook and kill but setting it to medium rare my phone sent me a notification with 5 mins to go. Then it stops the cook several degrees before the idea temp allowing you to take the meat off to rest with the meat continuing to cook to the desired temp. Amazeballs
Absolutely accurate innovative produc
I bought this Meaterplus thermometer to test against a cheaper non wireless thermometer from Amazon, to test on the Easter Sunday Joint. It was on special offer.
We’ve been getting tired of over cooked expensive joints of meat as the result of a variety of chef recipes. So we decided to use these thermometers to see if the perfect Sunday joint was possible in our home.
We followed the set up instructions for both products. Why is the writing on the paper inserts SO small? We ignored our usual recipes with their timescales, except for the oven temperature, and went for the thermometer recommended internal temperatures as our gauge of ‘done’. Both thermometers were inserted into Turkey and later beef rib joint.
Downloading The Meaterplus app was no problem for iOS or android. It is really easy to use despite all the additional information that comes with the app. It recorded more than just the internal temperature of the meat. It measured the ambient temperature too. This was a revelation as my oven is electric. I was unaware that the oven adjusts its temperature in order to maintain a consistent temperature. This is important as I bake and sometimes the results are not as expected. I knew about the cool spots in my oven and would turn my cakes accordingly but this app actually showed the oven cooling over several periods during the cooking of both the turkey and the beef. Yes, we really did spend an awful lot of time looking at that app I’ve read some reviews where the range of the app was an issue. This did not happen for us. I do agree that there needs to be a design rethink with the black top on the probe. I do not think that will last but I have only just bought it and I do not believe that we will be cooking at temperatures over 250C.
Both thermometers agreed on the internal temperature of the meats, and when the joints were done, the thermometers alarmed in unison. The meats were rested and the results were stress free perfection.
So I would recommend either of these products – choose depending on your budget and your ability to embrace wireless technology used with an app (which my family loved watching for ages!!! )
Absolutely brilliant!
I’ve tried a number of different meat thermometers in the past but this is next level. Stupidly simple to use with a superb accompanying app and has delivered the very best medium rare steak I’ve ever cooked!
Despite their videos tending to demonstrate larger joints of meat on the BBQ or in the oven, this can be used on the hob to cook a “normal” size steak (normal for UK anyway) and as long as the pan doesn’t go over the maximum ambient temp, it won’t damage it.
I’ve also found it useful for monitor other dishes. For example I used it to monitor the internal temperature of a lasagne I’d made earlier in the day and was heating up. As long as the probe goes in far enough (to the line) it tells you what’s going on and I was able to look up what temp lasagne should ideally be and set up a custom cook to monitor it. It was brilliant.
The Meater cloud function to extend the range of the MEATER + to 50m is really easy to set up and use and is definitely worth the extra 10.
Overall both product and app are absolutely superb and something I will continue to use for a wide variety of meats and dishes
BBQ your steak with confidence!
A good friend of mine used this when making steaks for us and used the Meater to make them on his green egg. The minute I took a bite out my steak, I had Amazon open and was ordering within minutes!
As soon as the weekend rolled round, I had my smoker all cleaned up and ready to go. Optimal temp was set, the Meater was all set. I reverse seared a rump steak with several spices and Cajun, and it absolutely rocked!! The Meater was super accurate with timing and after searing and cutting the steak open, I was back in heaven! It’s so easy to setup when following the instructions and even easier to clean when finished. The App needs a minute or two of your concentration but there are plenty of videos to help guide you. This is an absolute must for any BBQ perfectionist!
Ignore the people who are putting this device down, especially the one’s not happy with the range lol How much range do you really need when cooking a piece of meat?? 10 miles??? Hey trust me it’s a perfect piece of equipment when cooking meat I was always very nervous when cooking chicken, but not anymore It was perfect And as for my steaks Perfect Hey seriously guys, ignore the hater’s and just go for it my friends You won’t regret i
Good gadget takes the stress out of roasting
This is an expensive toy, however if you have a spare pile of cash it is good fun to use and results also good.
Steaks very good, although knowing thickness to grill or roast is still important.
For roast beef and such, it is important to realise how many degrees core temp increases during test periods. The meater doesn’t seem to calculate that quite right and it can be overdone.
Rule of thumb for me presently is apx 10degC per kilo after four attempts.
Gets perfect results every time.
Cooked a few roast joints with the meater. It’s been great. Only down side was you have to charge it for 4 hours before use (no good if you open Christmas presents an hour before you want to put the turkey in the oven.!!! Yes that happens to us and couldn’t use the meater on Christmas Day )
It’s quite expense, but very worth it. It’s helped cook the meat perfectly every time. Even displays the resting time before carving.
Another gift for the gadget guys Christmas
“Absolutely brilliant” “perfect cooking of meat” “Strange when charging that the light is off as it makes it seems like it isn’t charging, it doesn’t flash like most devices when they are charging” – actual feedback comments from o/h.
You need to install an app, booklet provided with step by step instructions.
It comes in a wooden case for storage, the case is also used as a bluetooth receiver. You get updates to your phone and can follow progress of the food cooking. It tells you when to take out the meat, how long to rest it for.
All feedback from o/h, he is a very geeky gadgety guy and he really loves it and is impressed with it (not an easy feat to be fair). It is pricey but if you are into your gadgets and cooking, win win.

Brillia
Bought as a gift and declared excellent. Accurate information on cooking meat. Saved an expensive cut of beef from being overcooked!
Absolutely brillia
This is beyond amazing and far exceeded my expectations. Its so easy, just sits in its little charger base (battery powered) and you remove it and insert into the meat, set the meat you are cooking (has everything from ribeye steak to lamb, chicken and loads more) and it then tells you the internal temperature, target temp and temp in the oven along with how long to go. When its done it even tells you the resting time. Its incredibly accurate so cooks to exactly what you want, be it rare, medium or well done. Blinding bit of kit that will delight any cook, can’t speak highly enough of it.

This is the third thermometer I have tried, and it is by far the best one. It is easy to use, no wires to get in the way. You track the progress on your phone or tablet, even tells you when resting time is over. I am not one for so called smart gadgets. So it was a suprise how good and well thought out the App is

A highly accurate meat thermomete
Bought this to avoid another rather dry Christmas turkey.
Checked on a range of YouTube videos on cooking the perfect turkey, taking note especially of the internal and ambient oven temps for a perfect cook. Popped in the prepared turkey joint with Meater probe inserted in the deepest part. It was cooked to within around 5 degrees of the set temp when alarm sounded to take out the bird. Resting allowed the temp to rise to my desired setting and another reminder that the turkey was ready.
The turkey was perfect. Moist and delicious. Best ever.
Did the same with a roast of beef – again check a number of chefs approaches to decide on perfect internal temps and ambient oven times – don’t just jump to official USDA temps. Invariably they are over cautious and over cook meat.
Once again a perfectly medium cooked roast, which I could never quite attain.
Final attempt was a pork tenderloin. Again a perfect result.
Meater will suggest a range of temps for different cuts of meat and has really informative videos to which you can refer, but I strongly advise doing your own research as to internal temps for your meat to suit your taste.
The design is quality. Connection was fast and cooking times really accurate. Its great to see how long you have before your meat is ready to get the rest of your prep done.
I also checked Meater ambient temp of my oven with a heat thermometer gun and it was accurate to +/- 2 degrees.
Meater Plus is an expensive piece of kit, but its not a fancy kitchen gadget. Its the real deal. Cooks accurately and pairs to a great, app on your phone. Connection range is long. Thoughtful design, with magnets on the wooden base station to connect to your oven door.
Will it pay for itself? Undoubtedly yes. Looking forward to using on the BBq.
Meat cuts are not cheap and to have them perfectly cooked is a good measure of Meater’s value for money.
Take the plunge. You won’t regret it.
Fantastic
Really changes the way I think about cooking meat now. Have used it on many meat types with great success. It is the sort of product you’ll wish you bought sooner. I have even bought as gifts for family.
If you don’t have one yet buy it!
Great thermomete
Got this to cook the Christmas turkey on a Kamado Joe with the rotisserie
It worked well and estimated the cooking time which wasn’t far out.
Perfect Meat every time
Got this a month ago for Christmas, and so far we have used it for Tomahawk Steak (twice), Roast duck, Chicken Parcels and stuffing. Every time the meat has come out exactly as we asked – even thought the duck took half an hour less than the time on the packaging, it was spectacular and juicy! For sausage-meat stuffing we used the ground pork setting – although a setting for stuffing or meatloaf would be easier. FA brilliant piece of kit.
Impressed
Some of the negative reviews had me concerned but wow I’m so glad I bought this thermometer. Connection was simple & the MEATER app is the best I’ve experienced. The ambient temp was showing higher on the thermometer than the KJ Grill but after 15mins this stabilised nicely. If you’re debating to buy, trust me you’ve made the right choice.

Wonderful help with Christmas cooking
Worked like a charm. We discovered we have been overcooking the turkey in the past. Loved using the Meate
Cooked meats done to perfectio
Easy to setup, needs a little practice in positioning to get anywhere near 50m but once you get it it’s perfect. The meat is done exactly as you request albeit sometimes what you think you want needs adjusting. Love it, no more guesswork or dried out meat / poultry.

Great device, great app. Shame you can't browse the app ad-hoc
There is no doubt I am pleased with my purchase! this gives you such accurate readings and I love the fact it has two sensors – internal and external. The internal sensor gives accurate readings from inside the meat and the external gives ambient temperature readings directly around the food you’re cooking. This dual sensor functionality is what sold it to me and I’m glad I bought it.
A few things I would not – the length of the probe is great, but the ‘safety’ line is quite far up, so for smaller or thinner joints like ribs, it does make it harder to use.
Additionally, the app can only be accessed when you have a probe connected – this means removed from the charging block. As a result you can’t set the cook up in advance or browse the different possible cooks ad-hoc. I suspect this is done to stop people without Meater probes from using any functions of the app, but it inadvertently blocks genuine owners from using the app as they see fi

If you haven’t got one GET ONE!
By far the best thing i have brought in a long time this changes the game for cooking steak! I have tried it out several times now on different meats and it’s spot on.
If you are after a temp probe for meat and are worried about the pricedon’t be it’s worth every penny!!
Absolute Quality
This is the best BBQ Gadget Ever. I mainly use to BBQ Tomahawks and T-Bone’s using the Reverse Seare method and it’s amazing. All you have to do is place the Probe in the Steak and follow the instructions on the app. Perfect result every time. Bit of faffing around sometimes to get your phone connected to the Probe to start with but that’s it. Quality Product. Very Happy.!
Stunning chicken!
Imagine being able to save 20% on your cooking time, wow!
Cooked a whole chicken last night. Packaging said to cook for 1hr20, AEG oven said to cook for 47 minutes, MEATER said to cook for 40 minutes.
Pulled it out after 42 minutes to check and it was perfect and succulent.
Makes sense that suppliers need to be more careful to cover all kinds of ovens and cooking methods, but now I have complete confidence that the meat is not underdone or overdone— and it tastes AMAZING.
Highly recommended.

Great piece of ki
I had an Inkbird thermometer and it was fantastic, but the Meater+ is a next level game changer. If you have a rotisserie there really is no better product as it’s completely wireless. App is easy to use and very clear, temps are accurate against my Inkbird and Weber thermal pen. I really am struggling to fault!
Excellent Steak
I bought this to replace a cheap meat thermometer as I found it difficult to get my steak cooked as I wanted. On my first attempt I got the steak just right. The app was easy to set up although it took a few attempts to find how to set it up for the kind of steak I was cooking.
