A little bit of a faff to empty initially but you get better at it! Very good suction both on carpets and hard floor. Reasonable amount of time on Eco before needing to be recharged. Great that you can separate it to a smaller hand-held vacuum. Quiet in use and having used over the last couple of months would recommend.
Compact and light to use, great cleaning ability, easy to use across multiple surfaces as it adapts its power to suit during use. No regrets here
I must admit I am a bit OCD when it comes to housework, I already have 2 Miele vacuums & they are firm favourites. However this machine is just amazing, I could not believe how much dust & grime it picked up.
It is easy to clean, it has amazing suction & just brilliant, buy it you want be disappointed.
This is a very well made and really effective vac.
The manual is clear. Operation and cleaning is simple.
It is powerful and has cleaned our carpets and parquet as never before!
Head adapts to surface.
Good range of accessories for stairs, seats and nooks.
A first class product. Clearly Miele has raised the bar with this new model.
On offer at Amazon.
As you would expect it works brilliantly. Expensive …. yes… Worth it… yes. I would recommend. I use this for commercial purposes to clean a block of apartments and its works really well. A bit much for a small flat or house . A case of you get what you pay for.
The product is good but although it had not been used, the box it was in had obviously been opened and torn and one of the batteries had the safety sticker removed, I assume it was a returned product, I was not impressed. For the cost of it I expected a pristine produc
I was amazed to read the negative feedback on this product and decided to share my recent experience and thoughts . This stick cleaner is not a lightweight machine but there are 2 different options for assembly, the traditional working parts at the top where you hold your hand or it can be assembled with the working parts lower down the stick moving the weight downhill as it were !
Anyone with wrist elbow or shoulder issues should try before you buy as The dust receptacle is small and requires frequent emptying with a wrist twist movement easy enough if you have full arm mobility but not if you do not .That said, I like the design and the solid feel of this stick cleaner. It lasts for the charge period and offers great suction.easy to assemble and after first lengthy charge has kept up with suction. I will update after 6 months
Sucks and cleans well, but heavy for us to use, especially with motor in upper positio
Good hoover, but heavy at times but depends on carpet thickness, but it’s not the item that is heavy but the suction is so good it’s difficult to push.
However, depends on your reasoning for this item, but it’s a good hoover and need to empty the canister often, but that’s down to good suction and what it picks up. Best empty often than not, as the longer you leave it as with larger canisters the more the smell. Each to their own preference really, the item is good and does what it says….
More or less the price should be arround 300 , suction is good , a second battery would be advisible although with one battery which is still new I can clean a large 5 bedroom property . Its okay but not standing up to miele reputation.
Very pleased with the suction power and quietness of this cleaner compared to the Bosch model it replaced, and am also happy to pay extra for the continued European manufacturing used by Miele. The easily swappable batteries are also a hugely useful feature, meaning it isn’t necessary to throw out the entire cleaner when the battery capacity inevitably reduces after a few years.
The flexibility to reconfigure the cleaner in handheld or stick modes is also useful, although we tend to mostly use it with the motor unit at the bottom due it being able to self-stand in this mode.
The only negatives so far relate to the dust canister, which due to the suction power of the cleaner requires emptying after every significant use and could do with being a bit larger. The canister has a relatively complex opening mechanism which can be fiddly to start with, but is fine once you get used to the three ’11, 10 and 9 o’clock’ positions for rotating the locking mechanism.
All in all, very pleased with this so far after a month or so of use.
LIKES; lightweight, easy to use, adaptable, long life batteries, light on brush head, powerful suction, no over suction on lowest setting, so great for curtains and delicates.
DISLIKES; dust collection container is ridiculously small for such an efficient vacuum cleaner. It’s more like a children’s toy.
COMMENT ON OTHER REVIEWS; others have said it is difficult getting fluff completely out of the dust container because it collects around the filter and space is tight, some have resorted to pulling it out with their fingers or a using a stick, however there is an easy trick; remove the filter body from the top of the dust container by an anti-clockwise twist and click of the lid, the filter cradle comes out of the top attached to the lid and the trapped dust/fluff drops out of the bottom trap door without any fuss. Simple and no need to touch the dust at all.
FINALLY A NOTE TO MIELE; include an option to add a flexible hose to make getting into tight spots and cleaning the car easier, just like the Vax Blade 4 Pet & Car cordless. Then you would just about clean up on the competition (excuse pun).
FOLLOW UP; it appears my old Dyson wasn’t picking up dust very well as the dust collection container on this machine was filling up quickly. However having used it for a few weeks the amount of dust and fluff has dropped off, not because of lack of suction, but because it has sucked out the bulk of the residual dust from the carpets.
My apartment is 120 m2, and 1 time charge is more than enough to clean the parquet floor at the highest speed, providing I have no any carpets at home. Highly recommended!! The only issue is that it is a little heavier than was expected.
A superb vacuum that is lightweight, easy to maneuver and powerful. Works well on even deep pile carpets. Highly recommended.
I’ve used and struggled with many Dyson models over the years, including the V range, but until I came across this wonderful Miele I hadn’t realised what a ‘handheld’ is truly capable of. It is well designed, incredibly powerful suction. (I think some reviewers are writing about a different product!). With this unit, I can actually vacuum thick carpets and not just hard floors. Battery life is very good and allows me to vacuum throughout my three bed house, with more to spare! It copes well with dog and cat fur too!
I love the ability to fit the unit on either the top or bottom of the handle, which has eased my back pain! The unit was very easy to put together – no screws! The ability to easily change batteries easily is also welcome.
The negatives? Sadly, it does need emptying.
Highly recommended.
This is great, suction is great for a stick vacuum, especially with the powered head it sucks up everything. It’s a little fiddly to empty but it’s ok once you have the knack. It’s heavy though, probably too heavy for someone elderly. Also it’s expensive, the model I have is listed in mid 500 quid range, I purchased a “used acceptable” which supposedly had major scuff and scratches but it had one mark on the handle which I think was crayon as with a bit of a wipe it’s gone and I saved about 250 quid.
I read quite a few wildly contrasting reviews of the Miele while trying to decide if it was worth the extra cost. We bought this one from Amazon Warehouse so the cost was much less, but either way it is an excellent machine. Great suction, good battery life, very manoeuvrable and easy to empty. We got the version with two batteries – a good idea if you have a larger area, but one is enough for a good whizz round. Bear in mind that these stick vacuum cleaners can never replace a good main powered machine for a thorough whole house deep clean, and are not intended to. But they are excellent for a quick clean of a room or two, stairs, hall landing etc. without having to wheel out the big machine. I am impressed with the suction and battery life. It is easy to reconfigure – but once you find your favourite configuration you are unlikely to change it often. The clips can be stiff, but that’s because the engineering tolerances are tight to ensure good suction. No point having loose connections! The dust bag is plenty big enough. If you are filling it on less than one battery run then you have the wrong tool for your amount of “dust” and your carpet must be a right mess!

I managed to get this as a Warehouse deal so it was half price, absolute bargain! It is always a risk with a warehouse deal, this was described as new and repackaged, it came in a plain brown box but all still sealed parts. I was replacing a 20 year old Dyson hand held and this is a million times better compared to the Dyson, even to what the Dyson was like when new.
I have a Miele cat and dog cylinder vacuum so wanted to try their handheld. I am not disappointed at all and think the handheld might even take the place of the cylinder.
This is a really good quality vacuum, and it’s really good to use on all hardwood floors but because the head isn’t adjustable it’s really hard to use on carpeting, so if you’ve got a lot of carpeting then it’s probably better to look for something else
This is an excellent pet vac. Strong suction, the light on the brush head is brilliant to see the pet hair on the floor and the emptying is easy peasey. Really splendid job, Miele.
. A little bit difficult to change parts as the buttons are abit hard. If you work it on the lowest power then yeh it last you three/four rooms . On full power barely lounge and another room. Suction is good
Great cordless vacuum cleaner
Runs rings around Dyson.. Yeah it’s not cheap but neither are Dysons and they are like Fisher price toys compared to this Miela
i like it as it’s help me to clean without back pain , light easy to clean and compac
I have two of these now because they are so good. They are heavy, but are robust. The suction from them is fantastic. I have the ordinary one and a Cat and Dog both are worth the money. Look out for deals to make this an exceptional buy
Exactly what i was looking for, really powerful suction on cordless vacuum and once is engine down, very lightweight.
I want something that cleans Powerfully and doesn’t take up too much space.
THIS IS IT. 🙂
HOWEVER.. The designer of the Battery had
HUGE HANDS and HUGE OPPOSABLE THUMBS
Making us mere Gals having to struggle to change it…. and I mean STRUGGLE.
Its disappointing.
Excellent design with easy swop to spare battery which charges on a freestanding plug.
Suction brilliant ;don’t worry that dust container is small as it’s so easy to remove and empty.
The tools are stored on a useful rack.
Love this vacuum Cleaner. So much suction, spare battery, long running time. Completely knocks the rival Dyson,Vax etc. Out of the running. It cost a little bit more but so worth it!!
Love it!
Having stayed at a friend’s home and having deep jealousy at her dyson animal, I decided to buy a cordless myself.
I settled on this miele as I didn’t really like the idea of having the vacuum air being blown all over my hands (as the dyson does). With this miele model you can have that part much lower down.
but …. the dust collection container is so small it needs emptying after hoovering a room anyway and that is slightly messier than the dyson one… and so hands got dusty anyway.
I love the light that lights as you hoover. i didn’t think i would care for it, but even in summer with on a bright day it highlights all the crumbs and dust on kitchen floor and on wooden living floor. it is v good. (dyson animal doesn’t have a light).
the weight of it is ok. lighter than a regular hoover, not as light ad the dyson. BUT its suction is so much stronger than the dyson animal. really.
I like that it standa by itself (with the main head on) and can be pluggedbin to recharge anywhere. you don’t need to out up the wall mount.
Dyson you mount it easily, clunk it on the wall mount and it is automatically connected to the charger. This one you have a small connection to put into the battery. a touch more fiddly, but not much as parking it is easier.
I really like the light this miele had to tell you the battery status. dyson aninal didn’t seem to have that.
overall I am very impressed and happy with it. The design is so slick. (makes dyson design look like a primary school toy in comparison).
It may have a small dust collection bin but it’s easy to use great at picking up and well balanced when the main body is down low like an upright . Really pleased with this cleane
The charger needs to be slightly pulled out from socket to allow the switch to be off. When fully inserted into socket the switch is permanently on. Just a small detail that Miele should have dealt with by slightly reducing the width of the charger. Overall I am very pleased with the Triflex Cat & Dog especially at the Amazon special offer price of 395.
Fantastic suction power I find the actual hose length rather long for me as I am only 4’10” and a bit heavier to handle than other cordless I have purchased but the suction power is the best I have ever bought so yes I would definitely recommend this Miele
Costs an arm and a leg but compensates in that it works very well. Very easy to used and well balanced when in use.
I compared this with a Dyson V11 on carpets and lino. I went over both areas with the Dyson. It picked up some dirt.
I then went over the same area with the Miele a few minutes later. Despite having just vacuumed both areas with the Dyson, the Miele picked up up MORE then the Dyson on a second pass. The Miele is a bit heavier than the Dyson, but no where near a game changer IMHO. Plus, you can put the Miele motor near the floor for better handling.
QED
This was bought to replace our cordless Dyson. Yes, very much more expensive but on a completely different level when it comes to suction and manoeuvrability. Absolutely superb machine, we are delighted with this purchase.
Nothing to dislike. Battery has lasted far longer than I perceived.

Best hoover ever. Cleans like no other I’ve had, a bit heavy but the suction is superb
I’m shocked at how great this vacuum was in just one use! I got Persian cats during lockdown one in the uk and as they’ve got bigger so has the amount of hair they have! My shark just didn’t pick up anything when it came to cat fur. My carpet feels new, and I could see every single tiny bit of dirt disappear from my concrete floor and my wooden. Having no wires to lug around just makes the job a million times quicker and easier. I am so damn happy.
Decent overall performance with excellent suction. I have cleaned my small 3 bed semi-detached house on one battery charge…albeit with several bin changes.
Disadvantages of this product have to be the bin capacity, however it did not stop me from buying it, and the battery charging obstructs nearly all my electrical sockets.
Benefits definitely outweigh the disadvantages. I cannot claim to have tried other leading products but a distinct step up from my DC04!
yes, so I do have 24 days still to try this and return it and No, I don’t need to! I’ve gone over my 1 year old deep-pile carpet, cleaned religiously with both Philips speed-pro and dyson small ball since purchase and the stuff this triflex has sucked up is disgusting. If you love trackmarks in your carpet the triflex is for you. if you struggle with heavy stick cleaners its for you.
Some reviews have said it’s heavy in stick mode, however I found it very well balanced and, due to the wheels on the brush head, much easier to move over carpet than my old stick cleaner. Even with severe breathing problems I have coped with this – whereas I had to sit on the floor to manage my old stick hoover. It was pricey but god I love this triflex.
If you have hand mobility problems you might find the bin tricky as it requires you to twist the lid to remove and then another twist to open, and the bin fills quickly. Again you might also find it tricky to reconfigure it (standard cleaner, stick cleaner, hand held) which requires some hand strength. However you do always have the option to get it on the 90 day trial and give it a go, before committing to another cleaner that won’t give you that option.
Vacuuming our wood, tiled and carpeted floors. A little difficult to clean filters
Vacuuming our wood, tiled and carpeted floors. A little difficult to clean filters
Suction power is exactly the same for the ones with cords no difference…. also is easy to use and the battery is exact as they are saying….
Quality design, quality feel and the the pulling power (suction) of a locomotive. VERY impressed.
Just unpacked it great quality , great every thing no problems at all. Brillant, makes a change.
After a couple of years of owning the Dyson V8 and putting up with a number of frustrations with it (including getting through 2 batteries) I decided to do a bit of research on an alternative. The Miele had a good rating from a number of sites, and having a good impression of other Miele appliances we’ve had, I decided to buy one.
Good Points:
Suction is impressive, even on the low setting. Seems considerably higher than the Dyson and the speed with which it fills the bin with (mostly) dust is amazing.
Flexibility is good from the point of view that it has 3 modes. As the main unit is quite heavy, we favour the mode where the unit is at the bottom rather than the top – it’s much more balanced this way. As a handheld, it’s quite bulky for things like cleaning the car but it’s powerful.
Battery life seems very good, we haven’t managed to exhaust the battery pack in a day of cleaning.
Storage of the unit is great for us as it will stand up on its own when the motor unit is installed on the bottom. We haven’t tried the wall mount because it can be so easily free-standing. It clicks into an upright position and can stand in a corner somewhere. One of the big issues we had with the Dyson was that it was so unstable and top-heavy. It was constantly falling over and the plastic body was seriously cracked from this.
It’s a good looking piece of kit and I favour its classic style over the Dyson’s more futuristic look.
Bad Points:
The collection bin is this sweeper’s Achilles’ Heel. It’s too small for one thing, and fills up quickly. Detaching it from the unit when it’s full is also fiddly and stiff. Turn the top cover too far and you’ll dump the contents all over the floor and your feet as you take the bin off the motor unit. When you come to empty it into a waste bin, it always requires raking out – there’s nothing to push the contents out and it’s too small a space to allow the contents to drop out, because they’re always relatively tightly packed. This is something of a pain. Then, putting it back on the unit is likewise fiddly and stiff.
The standard brush head is quite big and too big to go under a number of items of furniture in our house (which the Dyson went under without a problem).
So far though, these are the only negatives and we’re very happy with the Miele.

I really love this hoover. It has more suction power than my old corded Miele cat and dog. The battery life is brilliant, more than enough to clean the whole house. (Unlike the Bosch cordless I just had to throw away. Recently out of guarantee and having had several parts replaced it was useless and bits fell off regularly, they’re really looking after the planet.)
I use it with the motor at the bottom of the stick so it stands when not in use, it’s perfectly balanced and hasn’t made my back ache at all which is a miracle. It’s just like everything else Miele make and proves the adage ‘you get what you pay for.’
Picks up like a corded vacuum, but the dust compartment could be bigger!
Looks pretty with it’s black and rose gold trim
Excellent vacuum cleaner. Easy to use and very effective vacuum cleaner. The combination of its suction power and its electric brush is very good on carpets and hard surface floors. The right tool to make vacuum cleaning lean – at least 20% compared to a normal vacuum cleaner. It can be a bit tricky to empty the dust container in the beginning but once you have tried it a few times it is easy. It is recommended to read the manual to get it right from the beginning – also the filter cleaning.
The light in the brush head is an excellent additional feature. Very good value for the money.
Only one negative and that is not much space until drum is full. Otherwise very happy.
Only one negative and that is not much space until drum is full. Otherwise very happy.
This vacuum is heavy, but not unusable. The battery is fine for short uses but it isn’t going to last long on carpeted floors. On hardwood floors the powered and motorised brushes aren’t draining the battery, so it can be used to quickly rush around a 3-bed apartment. Charging the battery takes ages and for no reason I can fathom the wall plug is huge and obstructs adjacent sockets in a multi-socket extension and when flush with a wall socket it pushes the socket power toggle switch!
Was a bit sceptical about moving away from the conventional corded vacuum but so far this vacuum has proved to be a great purchase.
The vacuum can be formed into different sizes to suit requirements. This is easily done by interchanging the various component parts. You can build it into a long handle or short handle variant and vice versa as the cleaning situation determines. The parts connect well and are fairly intuitive but over time I don’t know how robust the connections will remain. The dust collection cylinder is transparent and you can easily see the contents and decide when to empty , although capacity does seem quite small. The majority of the contents empty freely but some assistance is required to clean it thoroughly – we use a small metal peg / wire to ease out any contents remaining.
The vacuum is light and easy to manoeuvre ( a lot lighter than the traditional cylinder) and there is no plug / cable to get in the way when working.
The battery gives about 15 – 30 mins use before it runs down. There isn’t much warning ( a couple of lights begin flashing as a warning – before lights out).
We bought an additional charger and battery to cover this eventuality.
All in all a great vacuum, expensive but so far so good – Miele are known for there quality and resilience, no reason to believe this will be otherwise.

Lovely powerful vacuum but with Ltd battery life on full power. It’s great for in-between proper vacuuming, so will still keep my mains powered Miele.
Love the suction power. It’s great on hard floors and carpets. The three power levels are good and the battery indicator is an advantage. The dust bin can be put on two different levels. I found if I left it at the top level then the vacuum wouldn’t stand up as the weight made it topple over. It means it has to really be at the lower level for charging.
Emptying the dust bin is a bit of a challenge. The actual removal from the vacuum is easy, but it gets harder from there. To actually get to the filters to clean, you have to pull really hard on the top of the canister. It’s a shame they couldn’t put a release button on top. The instructions tell you to just keep knocking the filter against the bin to dislodge the dust. Great. You get covered in dust as they say not to use a brush. Sorry Miele but I use an old soft toothbrush (I’m out of warranty now so it’s ok) to dislodge the dust. I find it works really well. Putting it all back together isn’t too easy either.
To be honest I’m really happy with the machine. I have three dogs who shed hair every time they move so I vacuum around 4 times a day. If it wasn’t for the emptying of the dust bin, this would have been given 5 stars.
Battery life is very short and the brush on the head keep sticking you need to use scissor to remove the dirty hair so you can get back the vacuum cleaner working
As my personal view my old Henry much better just only problem it’s with the cable and you need to plug i

This machine is excellent. Does exactly as per ad. Very light and versatile. Really good suction. As good as my cylinder Cat and Dog Miele. Easy to install on the walk. Easy to charge. Very nice hoover to use around the house and on the stairs. My wife also impressed. Before we had a dyson and the motor at the top too heavy. This has been very cleverly designed by Miele to allow the motor to be at the bottom making it very easy to use and no aching hands/wrists. Very nice machine all round snd the best stick hoover there us – by design.
I just received my Miele hoover cat and dogs yesterday 8/11/20 and to be completely honest I have had Dyson for many years the last Dyson was a V11 and it wasn’t as good as my other Dyson’s so I went for a Meile cat and dog it has fantastic suction unfortunately I have two sore wrists and had to put support straps on. I will move the Motor to the bottom and see if that is a lot lighter and I will give another review once I have had it for a while longer. I am a bit of a clean freak and I tried out lots of hoovers. I love Meile and I have a washing machine and tumble dryer and they are fantastic wouldn’t have anything else. My next purchase will be a Meile dishwashe
Not easy to empty but other than that it’s a well made quality item. It’s much quieter than similar other makes that we’ve had in the past.
I ordered this product on the basis of a Which? review which praised it very highly. I wasn’t keen on a Dyson as I don’t trust the firm and I hated any Dyson I used in the past. This is easy to use and the customer service is great. It works, it charges, and the manual is helpful. Thanks people.
This is a great product from Miele, much better than previous Dyson, which was fiddly to clean, this is vastly more superior and battery can be changed and lasts longe
Bought this model because of extra battery producing a total 60 mins use time. certainly picks up well. my only issue is the size of dirt collector, needs very regular emptying, probably 4 times an hours use, but similar vacs seem to have the same issue
This hoover is great at picking up compared to the corded Miele corded Cat & Dog we had previously and far easier to manoeuvre. It seems to give the carpet a really deep clean. The hoover when fully assembled is a little heavier than I thought it would be and I prefer to have the collection canister at the top as it is easier. I found it easy to remove the canister and open it for emptying. I do need to put my hand/some implement in to empty it fully as the dirt doesn’t just all drop out. We have a dog which sheds and the dust mixed with her hair needs help getting out of the canister. Aside from that minor point, I love this hoover and highly recommend it. On full charge and on maximum power it hoovers for around 15-20 minutes and then needs another charge.

Pleased with my Miele, cleaning job is more pleasant now. Solid machine.
I’ve been using this for about two months now and I still love it.
It’s standout feature really is being able to put the motor at the bottom which is the configuration mine spends about 99% of its time in.
The waste bin thing seems clunky at first, especially if you’ve ever used a Dyson equivalent, but by day two you’re used to it. Being able to swap the batteries during use makes this a super credible plug-in replacement.. I’ve not missed my reasonably performing mains powered vacuum once since I’ve had this.
I do wish it would charge on the dock without having to lean around and plug the adaptor in. If you get this version with the separate charging cradle (which seems to charge the batteries really quickly, by the way) then you might not be that bothered by it.
The accessories feel a bit old fashioned but on the flip-side don’t feel gimmicky and do work well enough. We’ll call them classic.
The light is good. Having a power switch instead of a trigger is great.
Overall I’d say it’s just worth the money (it really is quite expensive). The performance is brilliant, the looks are classy (not…. gaudy (Dyson)) and I think it will age really well.
I’m really happy with it and expect to enjoy it for many years to come.
This is an easy vacuum to use. It’s surprisingly powerful and copes very well with the many hairs shed by my dog. My only difficulty is that, with arthritic hands, emptying the dust out is a little awkward.
Incredible suction on this lightweight cordless vacuum. I bought it to replace a heavy corded model from another manufacturer and I am delighted with the Miele performance. The most demanding setting lasts for 12 minutes of battery power – more than enough to finish the task throughout our 3 bedroom bungalow. The medium power setting is also very good and extends the battery by another 30 mins or so. You do, of course, have to work out how best to cope with dust disposal from the bagless canister, but that is true of all bagless vacuums, I guess. 5 stars for suction, weight and manoeuvrability. So why not 5 stars overall? Because I had to send it back after 5 weeks of fairly light use for what turned out to be a faulty battery. Not at all what you expect for 500. Miele replaced it fairly quickly, but the whole thing was an unnecessary hassle and involved a robust telephone exchange with Miele about whether it was Amazon’s problem or Miele’s. Miele accepted the problem and the machine has now been returned with a new battery. It’s all working again as of today, but if it goes again in another 5 weeks – or even 5 months – I will be re-visiting here to radically downgrade the product.

up to now used only for floor cleaning .The machine is extremely quiet. The light is a real plus too.Briefly tried the hand unit.Found it very heavy to use and to disassemble the machine in the above position.I wonder now whether I should have bought a vacuum and separate handheld with abetter range of tools.Overall it is brilliantly engineerd As a big fan of Miele Ii shall persevere.
After spending weeks and weeks of considering what vacuum to replace my heavy and loud old dyson – I settled on this one and couldn’t be happier that I made the right choice. I wanted a light, quiet, flexible, cordless, bagless vacuum cleaner to work for all the rooms in my normal house – mostly carpets, some laminate and some tile – and most of all to be able to do the stair carpet easily. Some reviews said that emptying the dust is a problem – no – it’s really easy – easier than both my previous dysons. The cannister is really easy to take off and open. Havent tried to clean the filter yet but I expect that will be easier than some of the reviews stated too.. Definitely worth the money and no negatives. Super fast delivery too in 2 days
I’ve had this Miele for over a week now and used it several times. I bought it to replace a Dyson Absolute and a Miele corded Cat and Dog. The Pros: the suction power is incredible. It picks up so much in comparison to the Dyson. Great that you don’t have to change heads to go from hard surfaces to carpet. Unlike some reviewers, I love the light. I don’t think it’s a gimmick at all. It really helps you see what’s hiding in the corners and around skirting boards. I’m getting plenty of power from one battery to do the whole apartment (we’re on three floors) so may not have needed the extra battery. But I don’t always do all the vacuuming in one go. The Cons: the price, of course, but you are getting the quality you’d expect from anything by Miele; it is heavier than the Dyson; the dust container seems quite small so I have to empty it several times when using but that does show how effective it is; I’ve also found it hard to release the tube, etc – I have to put my foot on the head while pressing the button; it doesn’t go as flat as the Dyson so while I can vacuum under the bed, I’ll keep the Dyson to get under the sofas. Rather disappointed that I’ve had to spend even more to buy the small head for doing the stairs as the main head is too unwieldy. Is it worth the money? On the whole, yes, just for the incredible suction. My corded Miele has been a trusty workhorse for years and this is a definite step forward.
Love this hoover. 3 hoovers in 1. Easy to carry u and down stairs.. lifts up lots of fine dust too.

I have had a Dyson stick vacuum for years and so it was good to be able to compare the latest Miele offering.
Immediately there is a plus point – there are lots of ways to connect all the parts of the vacuum, but in one configuration it can stand up on its own. There is no need to bolt a charging point to the wall and so it is more flexible. You will have to find a home for all the spare pieces of the vacuum that you are not using though, which is always a pain.
The next big plus point for the Miele is that the power is controlled by a push switch (off plus 3 settings) rather than a trigger. That means that you do not have to grip the handle tightly to hold the trigger in place when using the vacuum.
The battery might last 45 mins at the lowest setting but at maximum power it lasts less than 20 mins – not enough to clean the whole house. The capacity of the vacuum itself is rather small as well – it managed the carpeted living room and one bedroom before it needed emptying. That is a bit smaller than the Dyson which is annoying. It is also a little awkward to empty – when the container is at maximum capacity, I had to pull some of the dust and dirt out with my fingers as it did not drop straight into the bin. It was also a little awkward to slot the dust container back onto the vacuum.
The light on the vacuum is useful for spotting crumbs on a tiled floor, and there are lots of attachments for the hoover for different cleaning tasks. The machine is flexible and pivots to turn corners easily. The main attachment (the one that you use if you want the vacuum to stand up on its own) is a bit taller than the main attachment on the Dyson and so it does not fit into as many tight spaces.
If it had a better battery life and larger dust container, I would have scored the vacuum more highly.
The first question, is this a great Vacuum Cleaner, YES, Is this worth 664? That’s slightly harder question, as it is the best Vacuum Cleaner I have every used, but not sure at 664 an vacuum cleaner could every do anything to be worth 664.
Firstly the positives
* Easy to assemble, you will need to follow the instructions as there are several ways you can put the cleaner together
* The suction is incredible especially for a battery powered vacuum cleaner, you have 3 levels, the top level will leave lines in your carpet and pick everything up. Level 1 is ideal for tiled floors where less suction is required and will save your battery (see negatives)
* You get two batteries so you should need to wait to charge. You can charge on in the docking station provided and one direct to the vacuum cleaner when the batter is connected to the cleaner
* A sturdy and easy to put up rack to hold the hoover in
* Easy to use, moves really easily, around corners, is a little on the heavy side when used as an upright vacuum cleaner, but our 8 year old can use it easily.
* It breaks down into a handy hand held device, again you can use different suction levels. It comes with attachments to do stairs cars etc
* Battery life is good if you use is it on level 1 but reduces considerably as you move up the suction levels
* Easy to clean the brushes to get rid of hairs etc.
* Looks modern and stylish for a vacuum cleaner
Negatives
* Small dirt container, its small and you can only fill it half full before it needs emptying. Fills up really quickly especially if you carpet is relatively new.
* Not the easiest emptying system, can be a bit clunky
* The held device is extremely heavy, and hurts your wrists after a while.
* Battery life on level 3 is very short I would say around 25-30 minutes. However will go for 2 hours on the lowest setting level 1
I can’t comment on how long the Miele Triflex will last but I have seen no perforamce drop off in a month. Overall this vacuum cleaner is amazing and would recommend if you have 664 to spare. Enjoy it actually makes hoovering more barable.
This has been my first experience of using a cordless vacuum and I must admit I was fairly sceptical that they could compete with an mains-powered model. When reading my comments, bear in mind I’m comparing against one of Dyson’s older Allfloors mains-powered vacuums which is approximately a similar size.
Pros:
– It’s difficult to explain how much difference not having a power cord makes. I didn’t expect this to be particularly significant but it was only when I started using it that I realised how annoying I’d found a power cord previously without realising it!
– Significantly more suction than the Dyson. This was the thing which surprised me the most! Even on its lowest setting it seems to clean better and pick up more dirt than the Dyson does.
– Despite being a similar overall size to the Dyson, it’s about half the weight
– It’s also a lot quieter than the Dyson
– Two different ways to set it up in an “upright” configuration, although only one of them can stand unsupported so I haven’t used the other
– On the low setting you do genuinely seem to get about 60 minutes out of the battery and since it’s supplied with two batteries (and an extra external charger) you’re not going to be short on runtime.
– The design is well thought out, and build quality seems good.
Cons:
– The dust compartment is fairly small, which means you’re going to have to empty it after doing each room in my experience so far.
– It’s not as easy to manoeuvre as the Dyson. In particular, if you need to lift the front to go over a threshold, rug or similar then you have to lift the whole vacuum whereas for the Dyson you could just tilt the handle backwards.
– Not having a fixed flexible hose is a disadvantage. When you’re doing corners / upholstery you have to disassemble then reassemble the vacuum into the configuration you want. This means you need to plan what you’re doing a bit more than you otherwise would, to avoid repeatedly taking it apart.
– Whilst it’s lighter than the Dyson, it’s still heavy to use as a handheld vacuum. When you’re lifting it to do cushions or anything above knee level you’ll quickly find it tiring! This is another area where a flexible hose would have helped, so that the motor unit could remain on the floor.
Lastly, perhaps the biggest disadvantage: price. It’s hard not to mention that this retails for more than 600, more expensive than even the top end Dyson equivalent. Do I like the performance of the Miele? Yes. Would I personally ever choose to pay this much money for a vacuum cleaner? No.
If you can justify the expense then this is undoubtedly a very good vacuum which should keep working for years. If you can’t, I suggest sticking to modern corded models which should have similar performance and eliminate some of the disadvantages.
I thought it might be tough to justify the price of this as it’s almost a couple of hundred more than the cordless Vax we got around a year ago, which I’ve been incredibly happy with, and so was expecting this to be pretty special, and can honestly say that it absolutely is – prior to the recent Vax model (which is very powerful and easy to handle and charge etc), we had an older Dyson model which was also incredibly well made, had great suction and put in a good few years, but this is far superior than either of them on most every front for me and I think worth the extra outlay – it’s an amazing price of equipment, makes everything so easy and quick and is astounding what it drags out of seemingly very clean carpets!
Once fully charged I was pleased with how relatively light it was to carry up stairs and get going – it’s very portable and easy to handle, and less cumbersome than the Vax. Going straight in at the highest suction setting (there are three power settings which is great for when you need less juice just for a light sweep, on hard floors etc as it saves battery charge – and is also an extra setting compared to the two on our Vax) I was seriously impressed by the incredible suction power at full whack – in that first moment when you turn it on you wonder if it’s actually going to pull the carpet up! And despite having hoovered less than 48 hours before I was blown away/concerned by how much it was pulling out of seemingly thin air and how quickly it was filling up – my mother-in-law would have been horrified if she’d seen what just one room had surrendered to this! Suitably impressed, hoovering suddenly felt very exciting and I attacked the house from top to bottom – honestly wouldn’t like to say how many times I emptied it as I don’t feel it would paint a fair picture of my fairly good housekeeping ethos! The three power settings and auto-switch for different surfaces along with how easy this is to handle make hoovering incredibly easy, quick, lightweight and actually enjoyable – there’s a perverse sense of satisfaction watching just how much otherwise invisible hair and dust etc this unit will reveal.
But beyond the impressive power capability one of the real winning points for me is the handheld – I didn’t have this on the Vax and changing the head attachment on the main unit to achieve similar results was a pain, time consuming, annoying and only partially effective with the result being that most of the time I wouldn’t bother – once again, the Triflex put me to shame and showed the consequences of having done that for the past year or so and on top of this it came in incredibly handy for places I wouldn’t usually consider attempting to hoover and would instead use a brush, polish etc – it’s perfect for all those awkward and difficult little spots, espeically if you attach the two for extra reach and scope.
This, along with the main unit and the third Transformer-like hybird-mode, the ease of use, good battery life and capacity and easy wall storage (I opted to have this on a dedicated wall in the utility – displayed like a piece of art, compared to the spot the Vax got behind the cloakroom door) all make this the perfect machine for me. Completely in love with it and don;t doubt all my friends and family are sick to death of hearing about it now as despite having used it for a good couple of weeks now I still get excited when I convince myself that our rather spotless house could do with another quick hoover.
Absolutely love it, 100% happy with it and not a bad word to say about it. The true test will be how long it lasts but with good product cover along with the fact it seems incredibly robust and well made this isn’t something that I think will ever be an issue. An absolute winner and brilliant contender for more well known brands.
This is one heck of a vacuum! The only negative aspect of this machine is that you cannot mount the tool rack and holder to the wall with the power adapter to charge the item without having to then plug the cable in seperately. Personally I find this somewhat of a design flaw, the ability to swap the weight of the main part to be lower or higher is pure genius.
After using this to vacuum our long pile rug I was staggered to see what the vac had pulled out that our mains powered Miele hadn’t! I really love the fact it has a light built into the main brush head like I recall vacuums had in the 1980’s. It also detects carpet vs wooden / tiled floors and turns off the extra power to the brush head as this is only required for carpet. Again great idea.
The battery will clean all the floors and cobwebs on one charge in an average 3 Bed Semi. Charging takes a couple of hours and is visible by an indicator on the front. As I say the unit drops a star as I’d like the mount to be where the power goes in to save having to plug the battery in each time, yes you can disconnect the battery and charge it this way but it removes the convenience aspect a little. Overall far more impressed than I thought I would be and it’s more powerful that anything I’ve every used with a plug.
We have a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner which is quite heavy and as we’ve got older it’s becoming more and more difficult to clean the stairs and carry it upstairs to clean the bedrooms. We therefore got this cleaner to leave upstairs to avoid all the carrying and faffing about. However, although this is of the ‘stick-style’ cordless cleaner it is quite substantial – not as heavy as our Dyson but not as light as some of the cheaper stick cleaners.
This is a very well-engineered and designed product (easily on a par with Dyson) and it can be assembled in three different ways to give different cleaning options. It has three power settings accessed from a switch on the handle and it is powerful with excellent suction – on our first couple of cleans of the lounge and bedrooms we quickly filled up the see-through plastic dust cylinder. It also has a light on the front, like an old Hoover we used to have. In working the cleaner is not too noisy (compared to the mega noisy Dyson) and it handles easily both on carpets, the kitchen tiled floor and on the stairs.
The cleaner comes with a a wall bracket and three cleaning tools which can be mounted in a rack on top of the wall bracket. It also comes with two batteries (1 spare) and a battery charger with charge indicator. The batteries reportedly last for two hours and the cleaner has a battery life indicator.
I must admit that since we’ve got this cleaner we now use it upstairs and downstairs in preference to the Dyson, although it isn’t quite as light or as quiet as we’d hoped. The other downside is the smallish dust cylinder – it is in proportion to the size of the cleaner but if you have a largish house you’ll probably need to empty it quite often. It is also VERY expensive at over 600, so more than high end Dyson and Bosch cleaners.
Wow! I never expected to be overwhelmed by a cleaning product or to get excited about a vacuum cleaner – but hey, you live and learn.
When I first opened the box, I was seriously impressed – really, a “hoover” could look this good and be made of such high-quality plastics – this is a statement piece of technology that deserves to be in a display case not kept under the stairs!
I have been using it daily for the last ten days (not because my house is dirty or unkempt) but because I love using it. It does a great job of vacuuming carpets, rugs and wooden floors. It is fairly lightweight, has a powerful light on the main vacuum head and is easy to maneuver but is quite long. Having said that, both my wife and I fight over who gets to use it. We have been impressed by the battery life too, far better than a similar Dyson we have owned for the last three years and a dreadful Samsung model we have had for the last 18 months.
What’s not to like – THE PRICE!! – you will have to dig deep to afford the Miele Triflex, hence just four stars.
The unit came well packaged and was very neat to look at. it has excellent suction power, far greater than our current Vax cordless. one of its main features is the ability to shift the weight of the motor from one end other unit to the other which makes it easier to use around covings when going for cobwebs etc in the air. Equaly, when motor shifted to the bottom it enables it to stand up right with a low centre of gravity, nice for manoeuvrability. The battery lasts a good 45 minutes on full power and comes with the plethora of attachments to suit most environments including car, mattress and skirting/coving, with a nice little wall bracket to hang set attachments to. We don’t have cats or dogs in our house but do have several moulting female humans that leave hair everywhere. It picks these up with ease. One criticism is that the size of the waste cylinder it’s not very big and it’s not the most straightforward of things to empty. Although not difficult it requires a little bit of dismantling and precision. Our current cordless upright is made by Vax and the Miele unit really shows it up. But then it is nearly 700 so you would be aggrieved if it didn’t. To summarise , it’s a good vacuum cleaner with lots of attachments and a lot of different configurations for doing most vacuuming activities. But is it 700 good…………
This is a really powerful cordless vacuum cleaner. I am very impressed with it. I thought the light was a gimmick at first but it’s actually really useful as you can spot crumbs under seats. It is also very flexible, and easy to fit under couches and chairs. It is relatively lightweight considering the power that is has. The suction is very good, and it works very well. I find it easy to hold and comfortable to use. I really like the cordless aspect of this, and I think it would be difficult to go back to corded vacuum cleaners after this. It is easy to move around rooms, different furniture layouts and you don’t need to worry about plug points. It’s also useful to use for the car, you can clean the interior of your car easily as you don’t need to worry about the cord.
You can hang it on a wall bracket, which is included, and a handy addition, and means you can charge it quite easily. You get two batteries, which is very useful. I live in a relatively small house and one battery can do me for several cleans (up to two hours). The dust collector is small and fills up quickly, but it is simple to empty. It feels sturdy, solid and well-made, which is good. The three-in-one feature is really good as you can adapt the cleaner for what you need.
Highly recommended!
First thing to note about this unit is that it is a bit bigger and heavier than a normal stick cleaner. This makes it a bit more difficult to manoeuvre around, but it does have some advantages.
The unit has 3 different layouts that you can swap between, but I ended up just putting the weightier part at the bottom as it allowed the unit to stand upright. The suction you get is very impressive and the light is very good and really shows up dirt on a wooden floor. It does have 3 different power settings which does make a noticeable difference in suction and in noise. It seemed to work well on both wooden floors and on carpet, and battery life is way beyond a normal cordless cleaner.
Assembling it was a little bit clunky, but it wasn’t too difficult. And the same goes to emptying out the cylinder with it being ok if a little bit cumbersome.
Saying that, everything on this vacuum cleaner feels high quality, and if you are willing to pay the price I think you are going to get a unit that will last you for years.
It’s a Miele !! Well designed, well executed, well packaged, good looking, very functional and worth the money!
I have a Miele C3 Cat & Dog ~ mains powered, floor based vacuum cleaner and its the best vacuum cleaner we’ve owned! One star feature of this machine is the sealed bag waste system and this is the only point of the Miele Triflex HX1 Cat & Dog that I dislike.
The Miele Triflex HX1 Cat & Dog was beautifully packed, everything protected and very little space wasted in the box. Unwrapping and assembly was simple ~ two ways to assemble (all in the instructions) with a long handle and the short up the stairs system with no long pole.
The pipes and parts carry the power to the two main cleaning heads. Its really well designed and its a classy vacuum cleaner. We prefer the power down low system, at the moment, but it’s simple to change. Miele are quite right in saying its a powerful as a mains machine. I can’t fault the suction, even at the lower powers. The photographs show the efficiency of this machine.
My only complaint and I can see why Miele chose to design it the way they did, is the plastic waste box!! It’s like going back to the D**** when it come to emptying ~ open the box let the muck fall out and very often bang the filter to clean it. Exactly one very good reason for getting the C3 machine!
The waste box is well designed, you unlock, take it off, twist the locking system again and the bottom opens and the muck falls into the bin, onto you and I ended up poking out the remains with a long pencil!! I realised the I had overfilled the waste box, but when you look at the size of it, that’s not a surprise. On my not very dirty carpets the waste was full after one carpeted room. This is not a Miele failing ~ it’s being compact and easy to use.
The charging system is very simple and unsophisticated. Although there is a well designed base unit to keep the cleaner and three tools on, the charger is just the usual wall wart and piece of cable to manually plug into the cleaner. A base unit with a built in charger and contacts would have been more suitable for such a high-tech machine.
I really do think that the Miele Triflex HX1 Cat & Dog can replace a conventional vacuum cleaner, but be prepared to empty the waste box frequently if you have a cat or dog!
A top quality machine with power and battery life a plenty, good tools and an excellent storage system that can be screwed to the inside of a cupboard (as long as there is power to charge it in there).
Wow very easy to assemble I didn’t need the instruction manual it all made sense to me. I love the set of tools too all more then useful attachments that are very easy to attach without too much effort, very good for older users, the brush tool I found great for upholstery and my PC grill for sucking out dust that builds up around the front panel, the crevice tool for those skirting board area’s and around the door entrance and fridge door etc In the kit you also get a wall mount, this is for hooking the unit on the wall so its sturdy and wont fall over while charging. its very easy to attach to wood with screws supplied or you can drill them into the wall with plugs also supplied but you will need a philips type screwdriver and drill for this. I have shown in the picture the phillips screwdriver (not supplied) its got a cross (X) type head. I am very very impressed with this whole Vac kit its very well made and no plastic flexible tubing its all solid thick strong tubes so no more breakage and expensive repair bills. You can use this on any type of floors and it has two interchangeable heads for this. The pick up suction is amazing for a battery vac the best I’ve come across it almost took my carpet up too never mind the dust. I found it pretty lightweight but for some it may differ but the vac has a stairs/car carpet de attachment for this type of carpet too and its not too heavy at all for the older folk/vulnerable types. This definitely deserves all stars but its rather way too expensive the only reason I have to give it 4.
My heart sank when an enormous box arrived from Amazon – I was really looking forward to a light, neat vacuum that wouldn’t be a pain to use on the stairs. Naturally it was just to accommodate the length of the Miele box, which was much slimmer than the Amazon box! Bonus – lots of paper packaging for the cats to play with.
This is really, really simple to put together and operate.
There are essentially four moving parts:
– the battery pack, which clips on and off the suction unit;
– the vacuum cyclone suction unit;
– long extension;
– floor roller thingy;
– handle
They all clip together easily, and rather brilliantly – for ease of general use you can set it up so that the cyclone unit is near the floor, with the extension above it, meaning that the weight is at the floor end. The power on-off (three settings) is still in your hand. You can also set it so that the cyclone unit is at the hand end, making it easy to lift the other end if required. OR you can just leave the extension out completely, giving you a small but powerful handheld sucker-upper.
I tested this on my carpets – cream carpet, black cats – and was really impressed by the power. OK so it isn’t QUITE as good as my corded Shark, but then I wouldn’t expect it to be (that’s a beast that also tugs up the carpet!).
In short, I’m incredibly impressed at this lightweight and handy cordless vacuum. You may pay a lot for it, but if you want a cordless, this is for you.
4.5 stars
Miele Triflex HX1 Pro 41MML031GB, 3-in-1 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, Infinity Grey Pearl Finish.
This is the first time that I have used a Miele vacuum cleaner and I am very impressed, it put my Dyson to shame with the amount of dirt, pet hair and fluff that it picked up. I’ve used this on both wood and carpet surfaces; it automatically adapts to all floor types.
I like the light on the header brush, think headlights for your cleaner, as it shows up the dirt in dark areas. There are 3 power levels which can be adjusted using the slide button on the handle, I used the lowest one on a loose hand woven rug.
The 3-in-1 option gives you a cordless handstick, a cordless handheld (with 3 accessory heads) or cordless upright with just a few easy assembly clicks.
The dust container is easy to open with a twist motion, my only negative point is that the container is small and quickly fills up.
It comes with a wall bracket for either low or high position storage and charging. The device also has two batteries and two charging options. The batteries give you up to two hours of cleaning time; you’ll find a battery life indicator on the cleaner and one on the charger unit.
Overall, good suction, good cleaning performance, reaches small areas with its flexible head, lightweight and easy to assemble.
These cordless vacuum cleaners have now been around long enough to make honest and informative comparisons with. From the lightweight cheaper models to the more robust, and when I say robust I am referring to this Mighty Beast, the Miele Triflex HX1 Pro. It is indeed mighty as compared with others.
First of all, this is a heavy cleaner and not for the faint hearted. It feels and performs like a high quality corded vacuum and is as powerful as one. Being cordless, the amount of suction power is quite simply, stunning. In use on carpets it does exactly what it should and does it with ease. On longer pile carpets it can be a bit of a problem, but by turning the power to 1 (out of 3) it makes the job easier – best of all, even on lower power it still works brilliantly.
At first, all the fitting together is somewhat tight and a bit stiff, but after a few days of use and having emptied the dust etc out, it all soon becomes easier (and friendlier) to use. The ‘heads’ that come with the cleaner are OK but come nowhere near the usability of the carpet one. This head is wider and flatter than most and does the job better than most corded vacuums I have ever used. The extension tube is straight, heavy and very well made. It is long enough to be helpful in that you don’t need to bend whilst cleaning – good for back sufferers like me.
The ‘motor’ unit can be placed at either end of the extension tube, giving it more versatility. Although it is best fitted low down for carpets etc as it becomes much more comfortable to use – it can be quite top heavy if you fit the motor to the top of the extension tube.
As this is such an amazing cleaner the dust bowl fills very quickly (my wife says it is, like most of these cordless cleaners, too small) and it can be quite fiddly when emptying it, meaning you often need to pull out the bits, especially if like us you have a small dog that tends to leave hair all over the place.
Of course there are a couple of negatives, such as the dust collector being too small and the whole thing being very heavy for a cordless cleaner, but these are not enough to lose even one star,
This is a Miele product and like all Miele products, it is designed and made to a very high standard and should last for many years. Yes the battery charge does not last long (although with this cleaner you do get TWO batteries), but it cleans quickly and efficiently. The whole unit is heavy, possibly too heavy for some of you, but the weight is necessary to perform as well as it does. The unit can be lifted onto a charging plate for ease of storage and keeping it fully charged – it can also charge the second battery in its own special charger (GREAT IDEA MIELE). Finally it is an amazing cleaner that does a brilliant job.
In my opinion you will be hard pressed to get a cordless cleaner that actually does the job of keeping your carpets clean and looking good with any other cleaner. Yes it is expensive, yes it is a bit heavy, but if you want quality in a cleaner and you (like us0 want your carpets to always look the best, then it must be Miele all the way.

The packing is large as expected but inside the component parts arrive well protected in separate partitions. I am amazed to see two chargers and two batteries that according to the specification will last for an hour each following an initial four hour charge. I charged both batteries in the main charger unit for the specified time. The main charger is a quality item and has a three pin moulded UK plug attached. The batteries are easy to click in place once you figure out which way around they go and charge automatically. There are three white LEDs that illuminate during charging to show progress. The batteries are huge but reasonably lightweight, imagine cordless drill batteries and some. Assembly of the unit is very intuitive and connecting all the parts together, you can feel the German quality coming through.
Every part slots together nicely and simply works. Button presses are a positive action. Following assembly, take a step back and admire (if that’s the right word to describe a vacuum) the grey colour scheme and contrasting striping they look amazing together. Assembly instructions are provided but they aren’t strictly necessary.
The instructions are clear. Anyone reading some of my other reviews knows I hate picture instructions but these are consise and somehow better than others I have come across? Emptying the machine is just a twist of the top and the container comes off. It is perhaps the hardest thing to do on the machine, the top is a very tight fit and doesn’t store that much dust before it requires emptying. It does however claim a maintenance free hepa filter on the product page. This I don’t understand as there is an outer filter and fine dust filters in the dust tank that require monthly maintenance? Maybe it means they last a lifetime?
Storage of the machine, It can be broken down but if left fully assembled it can be hung on an equally well made wall hanger (screws supplied) along with the accessories. The machine is tall and you will need some height to hang it.
Operation is via a sliding switch, there are three speed positions. On the lowest setting the speed is adequate to suck up fluff from a medium pile carpet. The motor is very quiet, the machine is very light. The suction power is very good and I love the light on the front and swivel head action. The head is automatically adjusted for hard floors too.
I vacuumed all the rooms upstairs and the stair carpet. The machine indicates one third of the battery spent following its first charge and run. I will expect a recharge will not be required for some time to come during normal operation.
The hand tools are basic and limited, I would have liked a longer crevice tool. There are loads of additional accessories to be had and all the part codes are in the user guide book including one for another crevice and radiator tool.
The vacuum has a two year guarantee once registered with Miele. There’s not too many component parts to go wrong.
Overall impressions, I love it, my daughter has another brand that performs really badly and with this by way of comparison. I can only upload one video of the machine. Take a look. I would consider crowning this, the current king of stick vacuum cleaners.
This hoover is really good, even better than good actually. Before using the batteries ( 2 included) need charging for 4 hours before first use. A battery charging stand holds 1 battery at a time for charging, however the second battery can be charged via a plug directly from the hoover to a socket. So you can charge the 2 batteries simultaneously.
The hoover is very easy to assemble and the instructions are very clear and easy to understand. I assembled it as the full size hoover that would be used for the floors and it took about 2 minutes to set up. The hoover also has a light (see pic) for hoovering under furniture so you can see any bits you may of missed. It’s nice and bright as you can see. I thought I’d just try it out on my wooden flooring just to get a feel of the suction power. It has 3 different levels which you can adjust very easily with your thumb whilst hoovering. I was very surprised to see so much pet hair and dust in my hoover considering I had only vacuumed my house with my Dyson the day before. It works really well on hard floors and it didn’t leave any marks.
After trying it on my hard floors I thought I’d remover the long tube and fit the head directly to the tank for the stairs. The suction was very strong and I could instantly see how much dust and pet hair it was picking up, it was almost embarrassing. I thought my lovely carpet was nice and clean and this hoover revealed it was not. The firm bristles agitated the carpet and it looked like it did when it was first laid. Very pleased with the results on both carpets and hard floors.
Monitoring battery level is easy as it is shown by lights on the front of the hoover so you can see when battery is low. Battery time is OK and 1 battery will last roughly an hour depending on the usage (using on a carpet will use more than hard floors)
The tank which stores all the dust etc it picks up is quite small, it did fill up quite quickly on our first use but that was because the carpets and floors had never been hoovered so well before. It did need emptying around 2-3 times. This however was just for the first use. Going forward because the carpet is now properly clean, it doesn’t have as much to pick up therefore doesn’t need emptying as much.
The hoover can be wall mounted above a plug to be charged every time it’s not in use however it can also just be mounted and batteries charged in the charging stand elsewhere. The hoover comes with 3 extra attachments, a furniture head, a crevice head and a soft bristle dusting head for skirting boards, ceilings, shelves etc. The hoover does have a bit of weight to it, it’s not overly heavy but it’s not light either.
Overall it is a very good hoover, the suction is unbelievably good. It’s a nice looking hoover and doesn’t take up too much space while being stored. As for the price (670) I think it’s a little steep. It is a brilliant hoover, it really is but in my opinion I’d day 400-450 max would be about right.
