Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures. Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armour to fend off the dangerous mobs.
This was a Christmas gift for my granddaughter who got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas.
She is an avid player of Minecraft on the pc and loved having it on her new handheld
Great version of minecraft for playing on the go. The gameplay is more or less identical to the other console versions, and it includes a set of super mario textures so you can create levels in the style of Mario64. The free ‘bedrock’ update allows you to add cross play with players on other systems like PS4 or similar.
I personally don’t see the appeal of Minecraft but my son loves it and would play it all day every day if he could. Controls were easy enough for him and his 6 year old sister to pick up and so long as they have the imagination there is no limit to the amount of content they can get from it.
Very much would recommend for any parent looking to keep their kids occupied for any amount of time (or yourself if its your kind of game).
We all know that playing games on PC has better storage and graphics, but does PC have a portable system. NO! It doesn’t. But playing it on the switch is pretty much the 2nd best way to play Minecraft because you can play this anytime and anywhere. Also, if you want a game that has no rules and gives people the freedom to build whatever you want, then I would recommend Minecraft. (It’s also one of the best selling video games of ALL TIME)!!!
Well what can I say! One of the best games made for all ages! My boy absolutely loves it. Good game to be able to play online or offline during long journeys.
This game is truly amazing! I’ve been playing for a solid few years, and the Nintendo switch version is by far one of the best. It was easy to set up, and would be amazing for first time players! My daughter (14) was very pleased when I bought us both copies, although, it’s suitable for any age range! Would definitely buy again!
My son saved some of his Christmas money and badgered me to purchase this (he had already received the Minecraft Dungeons version for Christmas).
I finally relented and got this for him, and I must say he loves it! Can’t get him off of the game without a threat to restrict access. He is constantly building houses, crafting new equipment and objects… and telling me about it!
If you want a game to captivate, engage and entertain your child (or inner child) then buy this game.
If you want to spend time as a family unit spending fun times crafting #happyfamilymoments, this game will steal your offspring away from you!
I can recommend it as it enables me to effectively work from home, when I’m not having to homeschooling.
I’ve played this game on many different platforms phone, pc, ipad, xbox and now switch and i loved the switch one just as much as some platforms and more than others. i definitely recommend it to anyone wishing for a good game to play alone or with friends
Fast delivery, got as a Christmas gift for my 6/7yr old she is constantly on it it does require a little research online for some hacks on how to build things ect but my little one has figured alot of it out quite quickly, 5star for the pure fact that my little one loves it and keeps her occupied.
My 5 year old loves it. I’ve had to make him play it on creative/peaceful mode as it’s a bit intense for his age. I do have to trust he doesn’t change it back though! Worth checking out videos for inspiration on what to build – depending on your imaginatio
Bought this from Amazon as it’s much cheaper than in the shops. Kids love it and such a fun creative game which is a lot more educating than most other games out there due to the building and creating side of it!
As a non-gaming mum there’s only so much I can say here but yes my 8yo loves it! It keeps her occupied and engaged and allows me time to drink my coffee while hot so it’s a thumbs up from me!
Yeah good product and fast delivery. Bought as a gift so I’ve not opened it yet but looks like the real deal and at a decent price. I’d buy here again and recommend to others.
Bought for kids nintendo switch, loved by children and adults. Helps with creativity as you can design and build anything you can possibly think of. We’ll known game and loved by e eryone who plays it.
Its minecraft, you dig and build. That’s about all I know. A present for my sons birthday, he’s been buildi g and digging for a while now. Seems to be good value for money.
Ok, I’m an older gamer, have been gaming since the 90’s, spend a lot of time looking at latest gen high quality games with beautiful graphics and smooth game play. However.. My kids just don’t want to know about these. They love this blocky, square, clunky game…. And I can see why… It looks bad, but it’s quite good fun to sculpt and build different things from the huge array of blocks and pieces you can get.
There are a couple of different modes, but we prefer the creator mode which basically gives you access to everything so you can build what you like. My kids have been building their own little world, starting with houses, and every time I join them for a few minutes, they’ve got something else cool added, like a little animal park, a rollacoaster, a working shower, little pet cats and dogs.
When I take into consideration the cost of the game (I paid 25) they’ve used it lots so it’s probably good value. However I do have a slight grip that it’s far cheaper on other formats, I actually have it for free on xbox, but switch always seems to price games high, the game has been out for quite a while so I don’t see why it’s still so high.
All said and done, the kids love it to the point where i actually have to ask them to come of their switch (which I don’t have to do if they play mariokart or something else as they get board after a few games). So I can’t complain and would recommend. I’ve removed a star due to the cost vs other formats.

Gamer daughter has Minecraft on every console so when we got the switch, she had to have Minecraft to go on it. She loves the game and switch games are super sturdy.
Good game but very hard for beginners and if you are new to it..7 year old struggled at first and I had to Google how to do it, took forever and I’m still not entirely sure he knows what he is doing or the aim of the game (if there is one)
Got this for my sons 8th birthday, he already has it on X Box, iPad, amazon Kindle but he wanted it for the Switch as it’s cross platform compatible, it also had a Mario mashup as part of it which is quite cool.
He will open it for his birthday next month, I know he will love it!
This was purchased as a gift so I can’t comment on the game itself, however I can say that the product arrived on time and was very well packaged. Great value for money as well
I have played minecraft myself in the past and enjoyed it. My cousin was given a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and so I decided to buy it for him. He absolutely loves it and plays it nearly every day (he is 9, but the game would be suited for a child of any age really). I am very pleased with the result. I would recommend this to people for both personal enjoyment or as a gift. Cheers.
Such a simple game yet so addictive.
Completed it so many times yet I keep going back to it when I’m bored and even better when playing with friends online!
This must be excellent. Not seen my thirteen old son since Christmas Day, when he unwrapped it and scuttled off upstairs to his bedroom like Gollum with the one ring. He must still be ok though as food keeps on disappearing from the fridge.
So my son loves this game so much, hes only 3 and it has improved a lot of skills for him, he’s more into building now, if your going to get your kids a switch i highly recommend this game.
I didn’t think I’d ever get into this game, but the switch is the perfect platform for it. Sunk many many weeks into this game, at a time when I thought I was done with games!
I do wish there was a bit more to it, like challenges/quests etc., but it’s still 5 star as it currently is.
My grandson loves it hes 11 so hes really into the construction side but showed his Nan – me – I got stuck in with him I enjoyed it. Hes a very happy young man ordered it 1 day here the next well pleased with Amazon thanks
I have this game for the PS4 which my son pretty much lives on so I had to buy it for my switch so I can actually get a game in every now and then! The controls are basically the same which helps a lot, the graphics work well on the screen and I have no problems.
My partners 7 year old loves it. It baffles me been a 80’s child on how big the game play can be from a game like this. There is certainly lots for him to explore, build and collect on this game. He is always coming to me showing me new things he can do on it. Can’t comment on playing it on the web as he doesn’t do this yet… to young…
Its minecraft! Buy it! Iv bought it on all the consoles. PS3 PS4 PC WiiU and now why not the switch! I cant stop giving them my money, this game is thar good! Definitely the best way to play it on the go! Also pewidpie plays It so you know it must be good!
Bought this for myself (Yes, i am a big kid). Before having it on Switch I played it on my iPad! My nieces (Aged between 8 and 11) introduced me to the game and its great fun playing it all together. Being a grown woman with a full time job and house work, I haven’t actually had a lot of time to play it properly. But from what i have seen it is a lot better than playing it on the iPad.
There is something for everyone in this game. I love the fact you have a choice in how you play the game. Either in creative to create your own world with unlimited possibilities, or survival where you work your way up, make things with what you find and fight off monsters. I really do think that my nieces have benefited from the creativity of this game!
It’s a very solid port, draw distances are a bit rough but expected. I just wish they offered more updates like the rest of the console ports, it’s a bit behind (although still getting the odd late hand-me-down)
8 year old son had asked for this for Xmas. Apparantly the in thing at his school is minecraft. Well I can only review on the fact this game is all he talks about and when he has Switch time this is always his first choice. So if your child is into minecraft this is the game. He definitely enjoys it more than the story mode edition that is also available.
I couldn’t possibly review this game correctly- mainly because I’m a 34 year old woman- and as a 34 year old I couldn’t possibly tell you how to even play this game??
I watch my 11 year old and 4 year old play it with ease- and I sit there all confused wondering why I spent so much money on a switch- with magnificent graphics- for them to play a game that looks like it came out in the early 90’s?
That doesn’t even really seem to have a point or story line or even a goal to work towards?
What I will base it on- is the fact that it keeps them quiet, makes them happy and they actually get along while playing it together.
We like the new version of Minecraft on Switch. It is much more up to date than our old xBox Minecraft with some nice new features and crafting bits. Really like the flexibility of different playing position options with the Nintendo Switch, a great new way to play.
Bought it for my kid, had to spend time to register an account for this game, just to find in the end that you have to pay something else so you can play online – minus one star for this. It’s still ok to play offline, but you’re playing alone then. Plenty of interesting worlds, even Mario world. Kiddo is enjoying to play this.
Been waiting for ages for Minecraft to come out on the Switch! When it was delivered (which was quick) I spent 8 hours on it with only one break! The graphics look amazing when hooked up on the TV but on the Switch console the display is quite small. When you first play the game the start up menu is a bit hard to navigate but I’m used to it now.
An Excellent and addictive game!
Well what a brilliant way to waste a few hours! If like me you loved Lego as a kid, then I highly recommend this game. In creative mode it is essentially digital Lego, in survival mode it’s more of an adventure game with monsters etc. Go on, you know you want to see what the fuss is about! P.S. buy a game guide as well.
This game is exactly what you would expect. It runs well on switch docked and undocked and has cross platform play with the bedrock edition. The render distance is pretty good and graphics are what you would expect. The only problem I have with it is that once in a blue moon, whenever I open an inventory, the the cursor will move upwards constantly.
Other than that, it’s flawless
Having owned Minecraft on 4 platforms since it’s alpha years ago, there’s not much to say here. Great game as always though, and especially pleased with the fidelity on Switch which was pleasantly suprising considering the hardware here (60fps too!).
Also, it’s a no brainer to buy the cartridge version for the same price as the e-shop
I originally bought Minecraft years ago for my laptop back when it was an independent release still in Beta. I loved it for a few days but then never went back to it. Since then, I’ve owned a version on my xBox 360 (which I lost when I moved over to a PS4) and now I have the Switch version (which is by far the priciest version to date).
My main reason for buying this again was basically due to my five year old daughter. She’s itching to play games but all of the ones I’ve purchased so far have been too difficult for her to fully grasp on her own. Minecraft has been perfect, in a short space of time she was showing me features I didn’t know existed (its come a long way from its humble beginnings).
The negatives for me is you’re paying a premium for a version that is probably the most technically inferior. The draw distance is okay, and probably akin to my old 360, however, I would expect the Switch to do better. There also seems to be lots of extras that are locked – not sure if you earn these or if you can only buy them (I’m guessing it’s the latter). That being said, it does come with a free Super Mario themed world which we haven’t tried yet.
The positives are seeing my little girls face light up as she plays, watching her improve her dexterity and getting to build things together with her in 2-player mode. For me, these factors far outweigh the negatives and have prevented me from becoming bored as I did during previous iterations.
Great fun, my son has this on his switch and wanted to play multiplayer over the Nintendo network, hours of fun , strangely addictive
This was a Christmas gift for my granddaughter who got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas.
She is an avid player of Minecraft on the pc and loved having it on her new handheld
My three children all asked for mine craft on their switches. They all enjoy the game and I love how creative it is. Brilliant game highly recommend
The classic Minecraft game. Keeps the kids amused for hours.
Great version of minecraft for playing on the go. The free ‘bedrock’ update allows you to add cross play with players on other systems like PS4 or similar.
It’s minecraft so yh one of my best buys. Package arrived in excellent condition and is still in working order.
Bought for my little boys birthday. All he plays at the moment, hours of creative fun building houses, bases and exploring.
Very good value for the money I can not get my daughter off i
Although I bought this for my partner, she has yet to play it. But it is the game that it says it is. Obviously it works. Done and done.
Our son loves his new game. After months of watching youtubers playing, it is great to see him enjoying the game itself!
Perfect present for my nephew. Loves Minecraft and building. The game is educational and great for using imagination.
Love this version great fun .
A must for Nintendo Switch owners.

Great game, we just didn’t realize you needed two full to work
Well what can I say! One of the best games made for all ages! My boy absolutely loves it. Good game to be able to play online or offline during long journeys.
I bought this game for my grandson for Xmas and he loves playing this game
Does what is says on the tin, kids love it and its a good price compared to others online.
Perfect game for a mine craft fan. Son loves it and played it all half term

I can recommend it as it enables me to effectively work from home, when I’m not having to homeschooling.

Had to return as I bought the wrong game my fault, but delivery was fast.

Absolutely brilliant. My daughter has hardly been away from this since Christmas day

Bought for someone else for Christmas so can’t rate ye
My 5 year old loves it. I’ve had to make him play it on creative/peaceful mode as it’s a bit intense for his age. I do have to trust he doesn’t change it back though! Worth checking out videos for inspiration on what to build – depending on your imaginatio
Brought for young son who loves Minecraft,he said it’s brilliant and kids know
Bought this from Amazon as it’s much cheaper than in the shops. Kids love it and such a fun creative game which is a lot more educating than most other games out there due to the building and creating side of it!
My Son wanted this for Christmas . It’s a good price and fast delivery. I will add to this review after Christmas
As a non-gaming mum there’s only so much I can say here but yes my 8yo loves it! It keeps her occupied and engaged and allows me time to drink my coffee while hot so it’s a thumbs up from me!

Bought for kids nintendo switch, loved by children and adults. Helps with creativity as you can design and build anything you can possibly think of. We’ll known game and loved by e eryone who plays it.
As a long time player of Minecraft I can recommend this to anyone.
I’ve not seen my son much since he bought this… so I’m assuming he likes it!
I love the creativity this game allows kids to have, my son can spend hours creating worlds adding in all the details.
My children they are lovet, good quality game for 8 years old children.
Great game and another great way to play it. We love the fact you can play this on a full console anywhere you feel like it.

Bought as a birthday present for a six year old who was over the moon with it.

Well packaged.
He absolutely loves this game.
Also good price

Keeps people entertained during the lockdown.

Great, bought it for switch lite which it works on too.
I bought this for my son for his birthday he is 6 and it is great for him. I would recommend this game!
Bought fir my grandson for Christmas. He loves it. Efficient delivery service
Just as great as it is on other platforms, love this game!

That doesn’t even really seem to have a point or story line or even a goal to work towards?
What I will base it on- is the fact that it keeps them quiet, makes them happy and they actually get along while playing it together.
Its a miracle!!!!!
Our grandson says it is perfect – who am I to argue. At the end of the day it is just a small data card in a big plastic box with a colourful cover.
