I personally can’t fault it, the hoop is a nice heavy duty metal hoop as well as the fixings. Decent looking acrylic back board with double sided adhesive foam tape. The ball is small, probably be easy to puncture but for the price it’s a sturdy bit of kit that’s easy to assemble and a good size. I’m happy enough with it.
Got this for my kids to hang on the back of their bedroom door. Fit on there well. Balls aren’t great but perfect for indoors, if you’re wanting it outdoors I’d say buy some different balls. Perfect for a rainy day too.
This is a good basketball set, I’ve had another one before and I prefer this one. In comparison to the other one, this one comes with a good bouncing mini basketball, the other one didn’t bounce as much. The downside to this mini basketball is that the black drawn on lines haven’t been neatly placed into the shallow lined groves of on the ball and there’s a small black pen mark on the ball away from the lines too; which cheapens the look of the set. The basketball is easy to blow up with the hand pump that came with it and once pumped up to the point that it’s very hard, it can bounce well.
The net was easy to attach to the hoop, once I figured out how to, all on my own.
Thankfully, it came with instructions that show how to attach it via pictures, that can be helpful for everyone. I also, took a video of how I attached it, which is attached to this review.
The basketball hoop was the main attraction for me, I really like that it’s transparent and it’s also, good quality; the hoop is metal and has to be attached to a thick sheet of perspex; which is the backboard, that has some pieces of self-adhesive sponge to be placed at the back to protect the door. It also, came with metal hooks to attach to it for it to be hung on a door, that fitted well on my lounge door. Once assembled it’s lightweight and sturdy, easy to place over my door and the hoop has a spring loaded hoop which is a great feature that enhances it’s durability. All the fixtures and fittings that come to assemble this are made of metal.
Overall, it’s good! It’s good quality and selling for the current cost of 23.39, which is a tad higher than, I’d expected.
Fun kind hoop that’s great for inside and easy to put in and satisfying to play
Brill basketball set its really good fun we have it on the door inside so its a great activity when its a rainy day yet the kids still want to be a little active and you don’t want them on electronics! It seems okay in the durability side, net is decent. the ball isnt the greatest but actually works out well for using it indoors so it doesnt do as much damage!
My kids and I love a game of basketball and this one is perfect for a little game literally anywhere indoors or outdoors with its versatility of putting up on a door and the soft design of the ball.
My only complaint is that the holes drilled into the backboard weren’t in the exact right place so it was hard to screw the top holders in place but otherwise an excellent set.
This was very easy to assemble. All parts fitted as they should. Hangs perfectly over a door. Feels solid and robust once made up.
Comes with a small ball you inflate with the supplied pump. Not to hard, quite a soft ball, so less chance of causing damage indoors.
My daughter loves this and has it hung in her bedroom door. Lots of fu
I got this for my grandsons when they come round. We have it hanging over the hallway door so they have plenty of room to run around and play with it. The board is really sturdy and is a bit fiddly to put together but looks like it will stay in place for a good long while. You get 2 mini balls and a pump. The balls are not the best quality but more than suitable for the purpose intended. It was great listening to them shouting goal every time they scored!!! Lots of energy used and 2 happy boys.
My boys had one similar in the past but it broke pretty quickly so this is their replacement and it feels so much sturdier! They love it! Easy to instsll
Got this for my son to put on the back of his door. No drilling which is even better. Good sturdy board and hoop.
This mini basketball set is awesome. As well as the board and net you get 2 balls, and a pump. It is very fun to play and the board is fairly good quality and will withstand play. The only thing that lets it down is the ball as it lacks bounce.
This is so so much fun! It’s a solid structure and fits on the door so we’ll….
This is fiddly to assemble though but once together it’s made very well….don’t forget to remove the film though, like I did! This will fit to any door, my son has already said the toilet door …. I disagree haha
This is a great toy once you get it working. The scoring unit takes 3 AAA batteries which are not included. It fits onto most door frames via two bolts and a metal arm. The doorframe won’t get damaged as it uses foam to protect the door and paint. Once it is set up and running it works very well. Every time the ball goes through the net, the scoreboard lights up and keeps track of the number of balls that go through it.
The height is of course fully adjustable, so it is suitable for children of most ages and heights. The score is clearly displayed. The fitting on the doorframe is a bit of a fiddle until you get used to it, but once you know what you are doing it gets easier.
Overall this is a great product that has generated hours of fun and I am happy to recommend it.
I actually got this for my office to lighten the mood a little with colleagues. It’s intended for kids but I think it makes a better competetive game for the office.
With the hoop and backplate, you get all the tools and fixings needed to put it together, a mini ball and a pump for the ball. The backplate has an electronic display and records the score everytime a ball passes through the net. My experience of this is that it works most of the time but it’s not flawless.
Assembly is reasonably straightforward but this is not something that’s ready to go out-of-the-box. It’s quite good value for money but the ‘cheering’ sound when a point is recorded, can get a bit grating.
Excellent as a gift!
Easy to assemble and great for children!
Recommended it!
So we had an issue with our unit not recognising the ball going through the net which the seller rectified straight away. My little boy loves it and has played with it every day since he got it for his birthday! I didn’t assemble it, hubby did but he didn’t seem to have any issues 🙂
When I ordered this kids game I wasn’t raelly expecting much from it as too many kids products overexagerate everything from the size to what they can deliver. This game exceded what I expected.
The first thing is that this product comes with everything needed, including the small rubber ball and a little hand pump to blow it up.
It is so easy to assemble and it works well.
The digital score display is powered by three AAA batteries and I like that as rechareables can be used but it'[s an area that can be improved by replacing the need for AAA batteries with a USB rechargeable, built in battery.
The basket is very responsive and scores each ball entering it with no issues at all. The score reset button is next to the power switch so it’s easy to get at whenever one wants to reset the score. When a ball goes through the hoopp the score goes up one bhut there’s also the sound of a crowd cheering. The crowd cheering is not impressive for an adult but kids will love it.
Overall, this product has impressed me and will be better purchased as a pair so kids can form teams and compete but it’s still good as a stand alone product for a small number of kids to play with or a parent with a child or two.
I am recommending this product as for a kids toy it will help encourage young kids to excercise whilst having fun. It can help teach them about being competitive and how to be pleased with a win but also how to accept a loss so it’s also educational in life skills. It’s good quality and delivers good value
The Basketball hoop is great fun, the soundboard is encouraging; counts the number of baskets you get, love how you hang it over the door, leaving no damage to the walls, the basketball is smaller than regular balls and My child loves it; I recommend this basketball set.
Pros
– Lots of sound bites
– Basket counter
– Limited damaged towalls
– Improves hand-eye coordination
Cons
– None that i can see
This is such a cute one to have at home for younger children.
The ball is very small, appropriate for little fingers. It bounces (not as much as an actual basketball) but it will bounce and can give the child a bit of practice bouncing the ball. The hoop has enough space for the child to practice shooting.
It’s good for a child interested in sports. Good aiming practice.
It’s a little bigger than I expected. It does require 3xAAA batteries for the effects to work.
I have to say though – this is a cool bit of kit for the price of 36.99. It’s got a balance of light but robust. The solid metal ring, the foam buffers to stop it bouncing off the door when you throw the ball. It definitely feels good and solid.
I thought it would feel much cheaper when the packaging arrived. It’s not perfect, the sensors aren’t for example, but as a bit of fun for this price it genuinely feels well made.
Will it last? I hope so, but right now I can’t speak to it’s longevity.
Five Stars
My son is obsessed with basketball ball he had one outside but it got Ruined over the winter. This one is perfect that it can be inside and he can use it all year round just put it in his room on the back of the door. He love the fact that it has a sore broad So he can have a competition, comes with everything you need pump and our own ball love it.
This game is fun but it goes off when it shouldn’t and does not always number the amount of times that the ball goes in.
The ball and the basket ring are quite small but it’s still quite easy to get the ball in. It is also easy to set up and looks effective and is great for training youngsters with precision and skill. It feels sturdy and solid, the pump for the ball works well and having all the tools included is a big help. It fits the door easily and with the protective bumpers it ensures no scratching or damage to the doors.
Overall the only problems were the cheering sometimes going off when the ball didn’t go in and the scoreboard not always registering, but other than that if it all worked precisely then it would be well worth the cost.
This little indoor/outdoor at home basketball kit takes a little DIY to start with to set it up, it includes everything that you need (even a small screwdriver), except 3 x AAA batteries for the scoreboard, so remember to order those too.
It is well padded with foam under the handles that go over the door, and foam that you fit to the bottom of the frame. This extra shock absorbency is to protect the scoring unit. You remove the protective film from the front and back of the board to start with. You do need a scissors or a craft knife to remove this film from around the scoring mechanism as a little gets left behind, when you pull it off, given it goes behind the screws of this mechanism. Add some additional foam pads (included) to the bottom back corners of the backboard. Next you fix the net to the hoop, which is easy to do following the instructions, and attach that to the backboard. Then pump up the ball (which is a really bouncy plastic ball) with the pump that’s also included. You can add the batteries afterwards and easily change them too – turn on the scoring mechanism and your’re good to go.
As long as you have some sort of barrier behind the top and the bottom of the board where the foam sits, you can easily use this both outdoors and in. Each time you score a sensor causes the points to go up. This is a great game to play alone or with a couple of friends, both young and not-so-young, and would be easy to take round a friend’s house etc.
Note: that the basketball isn’t a real one, but indoors you will need to exercise caution as it could knock over ornaments.
