Not quite as user friendly as the previous model only just fits in place
My 8.5kw shower was too powerful for the 6mm2 power supply I have so I was quoted between 550-1000 by a couple of companies to chase out walls, etc in order to upgrade the supply to 10mm2. Before I shelled out all that money and hassle of redecoration, I thought I would take a chance & replace my old shower with this less powerful 7.5kw shower. Works perfectly and we hardly notice the difference. At the time of writing, this was the best looking 7.5kw shower I could find after several hours scouring the Internet. I didn’t install as I got a plumber to do it so I have given it 3 stars as out to him a couple of hours but that included removal of the old. IMPORTANT he did forget to commission it which caused the shower to have erratic temperatures at the slightest touch of the thermostat on first use. To commission, simply go through each setting starting at the coldest temp and slowly turn up to the hottest. After I did that, it worked perfectly.

It can’t be installed if the piping comes straight out of the wall. For no apparent reason. It’s just in the instructions.

My old shower was a mira lasted a long time, this one fits in place where last one was perfectly. Easy to use no fuss with the dials. Did’nt fit my self electrician fitted for me so can’t help with instalation.
Really pleased with the shower, has more water pressure than our old one.

With the flow valve on our 2013 9.8 KW Sport Max starting to leak due to a split in the case, I decided to replace the whole thing rather than repair it due to its age. Had intended to get like for like, however I noticed this more expensive Airboost model was listing on Amazon 30 cheaper, albeit in 9.0 KW (20 saving over the standard 9.0 KW model), so I thought why not.
When it arrived I was pleased to see it was a direct swap, as the case fixing holes were in the same place, along with the electrical and water feed connection points.
Found an error in the instructions, as it indicated you needed to connect and test the water connection first, however on doing this water poured out the hose outlet. Found I needed to fully assemble it and turn the electrics on first before turning the water on.
Noticed while setting up this shower it runs far hotter than my 2013 model, maybe because its new; the old one needed to be on high to get to a decent temperature, whereas the new one gets there in eco mode. However the water flow with this airboost is noticeable weaker, possible to do with the required diffusers for the airboost function in both ends of the shower hose causing a slight restriction. The airboost function itself seems a bit of a gimmick too and a little noisy and not worth paying more for over the standard model in my view.
Therefore I’ve given the airboost 4 stars, as apart from the slightly hotter water temperature, overall its not as good as the standard model IMHO, so I’m glad in our case we paid less for it.
Installation easy even for a novice like me.
Temperature control is about sensitive and hot is scalding, but medium heat is comfortable.
Overall happy with the showe

Good product but could do with a bit more power behind it.
Replaced my old Mira Enthuse. Very happy with the product. Works perfectly.
This was a like for like replacement due to old shower heating element packing in. Could have replaced element, but by the time I purchased that and then get an engineer out to fit, it was working out cheaper to replace the whole shower.

Bought this to replace an earlier version and hoped to refit using existing wall fixings but the manufacturer had tweaked the design and moved the screw holes a fraction. However, with a handy husband and his trusty drill … a bit of colourful language and calming cups of tea … all was well and hot showers have recommenced!
Delivered within a couple of days of placing order, arrived well packaged and competitive pricing.
Great shower, always liked Mira they are so easy to install if you have a existing product. Performance wise it’s great if there was any bad points it would be that they seem to last about 3 years then they fail, overall this one seems superior to the old Mira sport shower.

Was easy to install as it was replacing previously installed with all plumbing and electrical.

Our shower died. It’s a straight replacement. Easy to install.
Great little shower as only 7.5 KW. Had to buy this capacity as cabling would require major upgrade to accommodate a more powerful model. Provides an efficient flow and is ideal for the smaller shower cubicle.

Excellent buy would recommend this shower we always purchase Mira showers
Great shower, heats up quick, lovely and quiet would definitely reccomend
Really simple to fit and use , no complaints so far.
Mira showers seldom let you down in my experience. Although this was a down size (power wise) shower still good.
A very easy to fit a versatile shower with enough power to run a decent flow of water.
Bought to replace an ageing Mira shower. Plumber removed and installed and had working within an hour. It works a treat. Very pleased with purchase.
This unit slotted right over his 10-year-old predecessor. I gave it a free uninstall because I didn’t install it myself but I’m told it was quite easy. The water pressure isn’t great but I think that’s the house as opposed to the shower.

Shower has not worked probably since installed.Amazon tells me to send it back. It has already cost me to have it installed also to have it examined. It will now cost me the same again to have it removed. Have asked Mira and Amazon to have service engineer to check same .Apparently this is not possible.
Replaced the older version of this shower. Easy to install as the connections were all the same. Only needed to drill one extra fixing hole.
Has worked fine since installing so happy with my purchase.

here’s nothing to dislike about this shower, once you get the control’s into position as you want that’s it, easy to use and operate.
Bought this to replace a 15 year old Mira Sport. Works really well, and is so much nicer to look at than the old one. Shower head is great, with all the settings I need.

Excelent shower so easy to install and works a trea
The shower unit is so easy to fit. Though the water inlet was on the opposite side to my old unit, the actual fitting was no problem. Excellent temperature and water control range.
Very happy with product and delivery.

3rd one we have had so far. I keep buying the same or similar version. That says it all I think. Great piece of kit. Recconended!
Shower very good with nice controls and was very easy to replace the old shower with the new one.
Brilliant quality shower. Plumber had it fitted in a few minutes and been working great for over 6 months now.
Lovely looking, good strong flow and easy to use.
Only thing to mention is can’t seem to reduce the flow rate.
Easy to use and does exactly what we want, a good shower.
Easy to order in sale, quick delivery. Easily installed by electrician. Temperature control not as gradual from warm to piping hot. Would have preferred thermostatically limited heat setting. Possibly why was sale item as usually find this a VG make.

Previous shower: Mira Sport 10.8 model J92C manufactured 02/01.
Our new shower functions very well, and we like it (function-wise) (so far). But…although their insides look almost identical, this new one is not quite the same as the old one.
1. NONE of the mounting holes lined up with those in the wall. The J92C had 4, for either three holes or a two-hole stud wall option.
2. This new shower’s water inlet is about 3/16 of an inch closer to the wall and a bit off to one side, relative to my J92C installation.
3. My supply pipe has an isolation valve located about an inch below where the bottom of the old shower was. Its upper nut falls inside the supply pipe opening in the bottom of the new shower, where there’s a some necessary structure. Mine requires a new pipe about an inch longer (not necessarily the new shower’s fault) and, if I could have done it, bent to fit precisely.
But, I am not tooled-up for bending 15mm copper tubes accurately and without damage, so I mounted our new shower roughly 3/16″ proud of the wall with three tap washers (extending all the other points of contact equally with soft non-porous stick-on chair leg feet). I made a new supply pipe about an inch longer than the original. I was careful to snug up the compression fittings with the new section of pipe aligned at both ends, and without straining the soft pivoting connection between the inlet elbow and the flow valve assembly, all the while making periodic adjustments to the shower unit’s position as and if required. No sealant was used in the gap behind, by the way – heed the manufacturer’s warning: NEVER seal around an electric shower!
Bottom line: It wasn’t a 10 minute job.
Knocked off a star for the flimsier and cheesier front cover with its chromed plastic and Hong Kong toy-style melted rivets
EDIT: restored the 5th star. Got used to its cheezy “design”. Also, I wanted to add that this shower works brilliantly with our old single spray shower head. I have also reduced our mains pressure at the tap (for another reason) and it still works brilliantly. Those negative reviews on Amazon that mention how you can’t have hot water and high pressure at the same time show that the reviewers do not understand how electric showers work. The water heaters have either one or two heating elements and whichever one is chosen will always just be full on. You cannot adjust their output. The only means of controlling the output water temperature is by the rate of flow, which you control with the control dial marked with hot and cold markings only. The water heater element is always either full-on or full off.
If you increase the “heat” with the dial you are actually turning the water down to a lower flow rate. It flows slower and so is exposed to the heating element that much longer. The reverse is true for reducing the water temperature. The faster the water flows through, the less is picks up heat. The water comes into your house plumbing at a warmer or cooler temperature depending on the seasons. I labeled my old shower’s medium and high buttons with summer and winter Dymo labels, and it was handy. It saved the whole bathroom from being sprayed in the summer. On this one, they have changed the labeling on the top control dial for the two heating elements (high power and medium power) with the Eco and High. The Low position still means “off”, i.e. no power to the heating elements.
Hope this helps people confused by the complaints in the negative reviews. You can’t complain about something that is physically impossible.

Just needed a direct replacement for an old Mira sport so went for this so that I didn’t have to change the plumbing or electrics. Hence it was easy to install and is working ok

Had this make before and just as pleased with it!
Fitted really easily and makes a great replacement for my old shower. On the down side the water pressure does not seem as good as with the old shower but nevertheless still fine.

Lovely shower head with variable massaging sprays. Regular and steady flow with steady temperature!
Bought this to replace a previous Mira Sport which would have almost as much to repair as the new one cost. so no brainer replace. The new one is a lot better than the old model. A really high quality item. Happy to recommend the Mira Sport 10.8 kw.

Superb shower – properly powerful, and looks less “plasticky” than many (even though it is clearly made of plastic!) We’ve only just installed it, so hopefully it will continue to be as good as it seems in the first few weeks’ of use.

My previous Mira Sport shower had done me well, lasting for 10 years, so I replaced like-for-like. It was installed without any additional holes in my tiles and looks fresh and clean. The shower head has more choices in flow. Overall very pleased.

Very nice shower, easy to use and a great shower every time.
great styling with a classy look, it was easy to fit onto my existing fittings, the water flow is perfectly adequate even though it is connected to my downstairs combi boiler,It heats the water well enough for my familys requirements and the head has a varety of settings although I’m not a fan of the angular style of the head itself. The riser works well. the soap dish again not a fan but I dont tend to attach them anyway. The phased shut down is essential for an electric shower in my opinion and we can only detect a slight drop in water temperature when sink taps are used, thats better than getting a hot blast.
Not bad for the money, not as good as a power shower but acceptable. Easy for plumber to fit due to multiple entry points. Look clean and modern.
Excellent product with all the quality that is expected from Mira. Easy to install as a replacement for a failed shower, Performs well.
I love this shower, my previous Mira Sport lasted 8yrs and hopefully this will be as good and for as long.
The shower works well on Eco with no problems; it does have problems when the setting is set to High
Excellent shower that has multiple settings on the head. There is plenty of pressure, as there was with the older type; one that lasted over 15 years, and was only changed due to a complete bathroom refurb. The plastic that it is manufactured from is different than previously, the new one has a “ivorine” look to it, perhaps this is to stop yellowing which the older one had. Much more modern looking than the previous one, and up to now no problems at all.
This is a great shower I bought it to replace my old Mira shower, I have been using Mira showers for over 20 years, very easy installation Mira are great because they don.t change the water connection so you are not having to change piping etc also the holes in the wall remain in the same place so no re-tiling. Shower performance is very good, good temperature control, good water pressure and constant.
This shower was a great price when I compared to others the two year guarantee is also good so I am a happy customer.
Seller is very good the shower came well packaged and arrived on time so I would recommend and use this seller again.
Hot Tip: Amazon price is a bit steep. I went direct to the Website of the supplier Amazon was showing (plumbworld.co.uk at the time) and it was priced 26 less (including the delivery charge).
Replacing existing older Sport unit. Existing top two fixing holes line up. Unit is longer so an additional hole will be required for bottom of unit.
Plumbing lines up exactly. Works well, but the description of the “storm” setting of the shower head is a bit optimistic, more like “standing under a hot tap”
I found the old shower head and rail to be better quality than the new one so kept those. Hose fittings are interchangeable.
Works very well as a direct replacement.
Has now worked for several months but it does get little use as it is only used for guests and I do not have any friends.
I was unable to comment sooner due to unexpected delays with our bathroom re-vamp. However it is all completed & this shower is fabulous, best shower we’ve used!
Does what it says on the box, looks nice too
I have always bought Mira showers and will possibly continue to do so. However, the soap dishes on the latest models (I have seen ‘Jump’ as well as ‘Sport’) are complete rubbish. They are nowhere near as robust as the old ones. They are flimsy and, I believe, poorly designed – obviously a cost-cutting exercise. After less than 18 months, one of mine has already broken and I have had to wrap tape round the tubular inset into the bottom of the pole to try to keep it in place.
excellent shower. Fitted a lot if these now for customers . Early ones had a couple of issues but have now been sorted by MIRA.
Great and easy for son to use independently. Even seems to have improved water pressure compared with previous shower.
Looks clean and smart, does the job. Nice range of sprays from the shower head. Simple set of controls: three heat settings (‘Eco’ is just included, as always, for people with the opinion that having a cold shower will help save a planet that needs saving) and a dial to control the force of the spray (which of course also affects the heat).
There’s also a separate power button. After powering the shower off, it continues to pump out warm water for a few more seconds – apparently a health-and-safety feature to avoid scalding if the shower is immediately turned back on again.
The shower head is enabled to slide up and down the pole easily with the push of a lever, then locks in place when the lever is released. Easily operated with one hand. A plastic soap dish attaches to the bottom of the pole.
That’s about it.
Bought this Mira sport to replace the old Mira sport model, great product, good price, fast delivery definitely recommend.
Arrived promptly. Shower head has four settings and gives a powerful spray. Heat settings easy to use and respond quickly when the knob is turned. It has a simple on/off switch which lights up when on, but no light on the unit to show that the power is on when the shower is turned off. This means I have to remember to pull the power chord as soon as I finish showering. My previous shower had a little red light to indicate that the power was on. Otherwise very happy with this shower.
excellent best mira we have used and this is our 3rd
exactly as stated. arrived within 3days well within the estimate.
I have had a mira shower before and I changed it when I had to replace it with a cheaper model but no good I had to go back to a mira
This was a replacement for a 12 year old Mira Sport 10.8kw shower. We were happy with the original shower and the replacement, if anything, seems slightly better. So no complaints about the shower.
My only concern is that the plumber who fitted the original had connected the water supply straight into the back of the unit, whereas Mira recommend fitting a bend so the water is either rising or falling into the shower unit. However, this would have been a major job to accomplish when fitting the replacement. Therefore, I have not fitted it in compliance with manufacturers recommendation.
Mira were very helpful when I asked why this was the requirement, and they said it was to relieve strain on the pipe work and connection point. In my opinion, the plumber had aligned the pipe work so the strain is very minimal, so I’ve taken a chance with keeping it the same (maybe famous last words, and I will get a new wet room instead).
Mira are just simply a better made shower with over run so the elements don’t burn out. Even the on/off button is better quality. The water pressure is quite good for an electric shower however the only negative point is the soap holder as this is not nearly as good as its competitors.
I have always had Mira sports showers, the last one was used everyday by my wife, myself and on occasions by my grandchildren. When after 12 years of continual use and it went to the big shower in the sky I had no hesitation in buying a new 9kw shower. I am very pleased in the looks & design, I only hope this one lasts 12 years
I had very quick delivery and the shower is very good, very pleased with it. Only had it a couple of months but it is working well.
Very pleased with the shower performance. However a part was missing which caused me to go to a supplier and het the part ehich enabled the plumber to install the item. Albert Trebilcock
This was a replacement shower as the original was no longer available. Easy to fit , only one new hole to drill.
Delivery time excellent from this company. Would have liked a more powerful shower but our cable didn’t support that so just replaced like for like. Looks much more modern though and we are pleased with the product.
Very pleased with the shower, it was even better than I thought it would be. It looks good too. Not very powerful, however this is to be expected from a 7.5kw shower. Would definitely recommend to anyone that needs to get a 7.5kw shower.
Bought this to replace exactly the same shower previously fitted in 2005. The main body casing is slightly longer than the old version, so had to drill one new hole in bathroom tiles (‘old hole’ covered by the unit). That was it – easy to fit, fantastic performance !
It was a like for like replacement . Our old sport lasted 8 continue use, this one has a slightly larger head, great showe
I’m a plumber and i fit showers all day and miras are by far the best…this was is a newer model and is just as good as the old one…
Love this shower it is so simple to use and keeps the temperature of water level .. great product .
Had to change our shower but didn’t want the mither of upgrading cables etc so was limited to 7.5kw and this shower is one of the best around. Service from tap world was exceptional, ordered Monday p.m and arrived Wednesday p.m free delivery and best price I could find anywhere. I have a maintenance background and still couldn’t source it any cheaper anywhere else!
