My bike got stolen and I got it back because of this…
It was spot on accurate, it has time stamps of events, and they called me at the time but I was sleeping and had my phone on no-disturb.

If your bike isn’t chained up it’s SO easy for someone to steal it. They just snap the steering lock and cut the ignition cable to touch the wires… They can get it going in 15 seconds if they know what they’re doing. This is a must have if you park it on the stree

Easy as hell to hide in ur bike, works how it should and had no issues, I feel a lot more happier having it in my bike as in the local area bikes go missing all the time and police don’t do much to try prevent or help people. We have had multiple bikes stolen in the past and I recommend this to anyone who has the same problem

Thankfully I have yet to use this tracker in a live situation, however on test it calls my phone very quickly and seems to track well once it has found the first signal.

The sim subscription is a reasonable price and the batteries seem to be good Having bought it in august.

I like the notification feature which you can set for daily, weekly etc notifications. This lets me know the device battery is good and it is ready to be pit to action.

Once fitted the product is great, but setting it up is not so good. The manual gives no indication as to how you open the product, the answer is brute force pulling the two ends apart. I had to find a video only before I could set up the tracker. Once paired it works well and does what is expected of it but, the App could be better and is not that intuitive. The alarm call to your phone comes through promptly and gives you the option to confirming that the bike is in your possession. Fitting the tracker without the need to wire it up is great and allows you to hide it in a number of places that would otherwise be impossible. The toggle that confirms you are near the tracker works well but I have no idea about its battery life. I definitely recommend this product but it could be better.

Slightly large tracker but once you establish a discreet space on your bike, it’s fairly easy to install (except actually opening the device to insert batteries) and works well. I have tested on several occasions and the device always immediately alerted me on my phone of any movement of the bike. The app as well is easy to use, and you can set it up so it alerts you each day that the tracker is still live. Great for piece of mind if not near the bike!

My bike was at the dealers getting work done. When work was finished the key (which has the fob on) was left in the office.the bike is wheeled to the wash bay. The alarm alerted me that the bike was being moved without the key. Great bit of kit.

The tracker is really easy to set up and link to your phone. It has a sensible range of the paired “button” so it does not continually set off an alarm when the button is in the house. The alarm is only set off when the tracker moves maybe 20m away, which is sensible.
The Live Tracking feature links to Google Maps, and is accurate to within a few meters…
All in all, great value for money….

Sooo, if it wasn’t for this I would not have a motorcycle right now, was watching a movie, phone rang, ran down the stairs, and found the idiots trying to steal my bike. Thankfully everything is OK now.

Just this morning, in the early hours, I got a call from my MoniMoto device to say that movement had been detected. First the phone call came through and then the alerts, all very prompt, accurate and smooth. I ran down to find two men attempting to steal my motorbike. Luckily the police were here in minutes and caught them red handed. This device just prevented my brand new motorbike from being stolen. I honestly cannot rate this product high enough! If you are thinking whether to buy this device or not, buy it!! Very easy to install, excellent quality, app is easy and straight forward and the customer service from MoniMoto is fantastic, they were a pleasure to deal with and sorted out something for me very quickly and friendly. Hopefully you will never actually have to see it in action, but if you do and it prevents a situation like it prevented for me today, it will literally pay for itself a hundred times over after first time. Works exactly as described and saved me a huge headache. Well done MoniMoto on creating such a brilliant product.

I purchased this after a string of motorcycle thefts near me. It’s easy to install and works a treat. Peace of mind is priceless. I would like to add that on the day of delivery I received a small box of some wireless ear buds with a note explaining that my item would be two days late, and to please accept the ear buds by way of an apology. That’s great customer service!!! Highly recommend both product and seller…thanks!!!

Really good product easy to install, and perfect for tracking my motorbike. App is easy to navigate, just make sure device doesn’t tough metal surfaces on installation for best reception.

Works in a stored garage in a blind spot for 3g and 4g.

This device operates on 2g, so only as good until they switch off the 2g network.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWas sitting at home on Saturday, 2pm in Central London and suddenly my phone started ringing me and saying my bike was being nicked, I was like this MUST be a mistake.

It wasn’t. Two idiots had stolen it and were already a couple of streets away. My wife and I jumped in the car and sped after them, simultaneously tracking via the Minimoto and talking to 999. We gave them co-ordinates – VERY accurate if delayed, and then about 5 metre accuracy when it has stopped, for the corner of an estate in Brixton, and by the time we had arrived (10-12mins after the theft) so had the Met (including: about 8 policemen, four vans and shortly afterwards two dog patrols). They had arrived just as the criminals were hiding the bike, and leapt over some garden fences. Sadly they were not caught, but the Met had a good go so fair play to them.

Bike was a bit bruised, panel cut off and hot-wired, and so we limped home but will live another day. I think the most important thing is that this is an EXCELLENT product, which worked EXACTLY as described, and is well worth the few hundred quid outlay versus the cost of a replacement bike.

Congrats guys! really appreciate you putting this product out there.

    Great value for money,
The tracker itself is quite large so finding a spot to place it in your bike is difficult.
Basic model is 2G so signal is quite weak in a garage or covered car park.
Not connected to the bike battery so won’t drain your battery.

So I’ll start by saying that I think that having averts for the Monimoto on social media can be detrimental – when I see those kinds of adverts I usually assume that the product will be cheap and nasty or some kind of scam!

After reading some reviews of this on motorcycling websites I was convinced enough to get one though, and it is indeed a great bit of kit. So easy to get up and running and works exactly as advertised. I’ve tested it out and it notifies me if my bike moves within one minute with a phone call. The best thing is though it doesn’t need to be wired in and can be easily moved to any vehicle. It definitely gives me peace of mind when my bike is parked up.

Bought this for extra peice of mind

Pros: Easy to setup and mobile app very simple
Online app chat function great and get back to you very quickly
Works exactly as it should after testing, phone rang within less than 1 minute.

Cons: GPS top cap was very very difficult to get off to take battery tab off
Keychain module didn’t have battery tab in it, no idea to know how long it’s been using power
Takes a little bit of time to give GPS coordinates once alarm goes off

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is one of my favourite gadgets of 2020. I actually use it to keep track of my car. It’s small and discreet enough to fit in multiple places around the car.

It works well too. I went away in early 2020 and left my car in Heathrow. I ended up getting stuck abroad due to the covid saga…

One night my phone started buzzing and I saw that my car was travelling about 5 miles outside the airport and was stationed next to a park.

I immediately called Heathrow and it was confirmed the car was not there… It turns out one of lads took it to move it to another carpark… They were shocked when I shared that I had evidence that it was in a different location. I choose not to make a big deal about it and the car was returned safely.

I would definitely recommend this a cost-effective way to track your vehicle.

I hope you found my review helpful.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis kit works so well. I have piece of mind that my bike is protected. Let’s be clear, security is about differing layers. I am happy that I’ve got to a reasonable level of security with the following:

    1. An alarmed garage that will alert me when it is opened.
    2. An alarmed disc lock that sounds when it is being picked or the bike is moved.
    3. A monimoto that will ring me if the bike moves without the key.

I think in those three items you have a reasonably cheap high level of security that can easily be moved to my next bike.

I have already had an experience of the Monimoto saving me hundreds of pounds that my insurance wouldn’t have covered. I dropped my keys. I was faffing about on the roadside with some luggage and dropped my keys, close enough that the keyless worked so I didn’t notice. I rode off and for whatever reason the bike never flashed up “key not in range”. About 400m down the road I got a phone call from Monimoto saying bike had been nabbed and I immediately guessed what had happened, rode back picked up my keys and went on my way. BOOM!

Bought this for my bike easy to set up easy to install all round excellent.

You can reduce the amount of time you get the notifications to tell you that the alarm is up and running which I found was really good so if you are away you can say to update you once a day or if you’re at home maybe once a week or longer.
There is a subscription fee which needs to be paid after the first couple of months but it is extremely cheap and well worth it for the security of the bike can’t recommend it highly enough I think if you looking for a tracker it should be the one that you go far as it does everything that any other will deal with the exception of automatrics Which works on short wave radio as wellThis unit does not have that function

It’s recommended that you don’t keep the fob with the keys although I found that if I don’t do that I am forever walking away without the fob so my recommendation is keep the fob with the keys

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOn the whole the product works great. It’s a tracker and sure as hell it will track your bike and it will notify you if it moves. BUT…the quality of the fob is tragic and a replacement is a whopping 30.

I’ve eaten tea soaked custard creams that have more structural integrity than this fob. It’s pathetic.

I strongly suggest that if you buy this, don’t put the fob on a key ring that gets knocked about a bit. Put it in something that you always carry when you ride, like in that pocket of your jacket you never use, or in a bag you always carry.

It would be great if they had a credit card shaped fob, like tile, that you can just pop in your wallet or phone case and forget about.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI got this tracker after the one I had broke down.

The setup is very easy, the only reason I give it 4 stars is because there’s issues upgrading the firmware on Android.
I contacted the support through we chat and they were very quick to respond.
Their answer however was that it’s and android problem and they can’t do much about it.
The way I found to solve the issue was using an IPhone and the firmware was updated.

Took a few tries to find a good location for the tracker, the first 2 times I couldn’t get an accurate gps position but then it was just great.

I recommend this compared to more expensive options like Biketrac and other options that won’t last long.

Test them properly and got 2 calls after just 40 seconds and with the last software update you can see the vehicle on the map in real time if it gets stolen. Great product and great value. First 2 or 3 months are free I think and then I top up the sim care with 26 for the whole year.

It has given me great peace of mind and I can confidently recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersGreat quality tracker at around 50% of the price bracket of thatcham models for easy install. Probably wont get you any insurance reductions, but the features are perfect for peace of mind.
A couple of tips would be:-
    1. Before even setting this up on the app make sure you update the firmware as you probably wont be removing this device for 1-2 years and lots of better features have been released. Plug into your computer (with batteries removed). Its as simple as downloading and dropping the new file onto the memory on the device. If you do this after setting the device up you will have to remove it and do it all over again.
    2. The user guides go on about testing the device by having the key at a distance over 10m, but in reality you can just put the key inside your microwave to block the signal to save messing about. Probably turn the power off and unplug the microwave before doing this for obvious reasons.

This is really good tracker i bought from bike shop not on here but thought i would post review as i have tested the product against datatool which there isnt a claim this product is miles better at much better price than datatool, yearly costs for the product is around 30 but if you have your own sim card the costs are just to buy the product on the other had datatool has subscription service of round 80 a year its no brainer cost wise, the product within 2mins has notified me of movement when i have left fob in house by accident when moved bike and its tracker is within 10m of location, however there are couple small details that could improve product that are looking at possibly slimming product down so can fit in more tighter areas which would take longer remove tracker if stolen, and this is personal thing i would love have some stickers included rarther of company or saying that there is tracker active so its warning people not mess around near the bike

Why not for the price. Works as its described – maybe could be improved with a on-the-spot location update of the bike on a button press, but they have a good argument for why they haven’t done this feature.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersUPDATE: 1yr ownership:
After a year of ownership and in combination with owning and using the TK905 and a vibration audible alarm (both from Amazon) I reckon I have good experience to update this review…

So, it’s been nearly a year and I still stand by my original comments (kept them all below). MoniMoto is the best subscription-free tracker out there, I still wish it had nudge alerts and an audible alarm because I have the two additional devices on the bike to achieve those missing features, believe it or not. But it still works out more cost-effective than going with one of the big boy subscription services, although I am sure I am missing out on even more features provided by those services but arguably ones I don’t need.

    1yr tips
    – Set the MoniMoto contact in your iPhone as an “emergency bi-pass” as well as a favourite and I also bought a custom crazy loud tone (App Store), this will ensure you don’t miss any calls night or day.
    – As mentioned, I combine my Monimoto with two other devices: a TK905 and a cheapo motion audible alarm (both off Amazon, 40 and 12 respectively). The TK905 texts me if anyone breaths near my bike and the motion alarm tells the person to stop! It’s a bit crazy to have three devices on a bike, but apart from anything else it means a thief may miss one and leave my Monimoto or the TK905 onboard – the TK905 also tracks, but it’s not as slick as the Monimoto.

    1yr Pros
    – Consistent and solid, the Monimoto just works, had no problems with it at all.
    – Renewal of the included SIM is seamless and at 35pa – if I remember correctly – it’s not bad, but this year I will be changing to a classic PAYG SIM – from o2 (get them while you can, you already cannot buy them direct from o2 but they can be found elsewhere because as of November you’ll never be able to buy a SIM anywhere that doesn’t make you pay what is effectively a monthly fee – and believe me, I spent a lot of time researching. Based on 35 being nearly 3pm with MoniMoto’s SIM (still not bad) I’ve now got it down to 10 that will last several years, again because it’s a true classic PAYG – no expiry of your top up)
    – In-app support (by a human) is exceptional, their help and manner is second-to-none.
    – Calling your phone as the Monimoto does is, as I have learned, much less likely to be missed than a text.
    – Text/app notifs are used for battery warnings, and the Monimoto always keep you updated – I love the daily message I get telling me all is well.
    – Battery life is exceptional, my fob alerted me last week that it’s CR2032 needed changing after almost exactly 11 months of use and today two weeks later the main unit told me it needed two new CR123A batteries. Bear in mind during this time I must have had less than ten alerts (due to me moving the bike without the fob, luckily no real-life uses). And let’s say I ride the bike once a week as an average across the year *at most* to give an idea of fob use and unalarmed use of the unit, presumably they talk to one another periodically during each ride).

    1yr Cons
    – I’d have to still stand by my original wish that the Monimoto had a nudge alert (perhaps a text then escalating to a call) as well as an audible deterrent. If they made a new version with this I would buy it. I have three bikes and held off buying two additional MoniMoto’s, instead in the other bikes I just have the TK905 and the vibration audible alarm I mentioned earlier. I want so much to buy two more Moni’s.
    – Battery changing at 1yr was a bit fiddly, it’s not as easy as it should be to remove the batteries. I had to remind myself how the case opened too, and searching the FAQs for “change battery” didn’t give me any results. Eventually I found it searching replace battery I think it was. Also, the battery change reminder doesn’t tell you what model you have and I think some older models require a different battery. I had to ask their support, which of course were their usual helpful awesome selves!

    Original review:

Just gone through the set up and it’s as slick as any Apple product installation.

Did a test and my phone rang within a minute.

Fantastic piece of mind. Will update full review as I use it.

    Well done Monimoto.

    PROS
    – NO USER/PASS NEEDED: I love that you don’t even have to create an account and annoying password, it’s just linked to your mobile.
    – NO SCREW DRIVER NEEDED: No screws to undo, just pop stuff off and take the tags out.
    – HANDS FREE: Put the tracker and fob near your phone and after some self-tests it’s operational.

CONS (I am nit picking here)
    – SIZE MATTERS: I wish the tracker could be a little smaller, but it’s still a nice size to squirrel away.
    – BELLS AND WHISTLES: Would be nice if there were a few more bits and bobs to mess about with in the app. You have to be stood next to the the tracker to play with its settings (a minor thing).
    – MOVING VS. NUDGES VS. IN-TRANSIT: When nudging the tracker you don’t receive a call, it doesn’t seem to differentiate between being actually moved and nudged. Even when I know it’s not moving – eg: I went out and nudged stood the bike upright – clicking on the GPS location (once it’s available after the ‘delay’ (see next point)) a message pops up telling you that the tracker is moving and location updates will follow in 5 minutes. I can imagine if I were some distance from the bike this would be pretty scary, not knowing if it’s a false alarm/someone nudged/touched the bike and decided against moving it or if genuinely someone has made off with it! I hope this can be refined and slickened up a little so the tracker can differentiate between a nudged, being moved ‘on the spot’ or actually in transit.
    – GPS DELAY: The GPS tracking location takes some time to arrive after an alert (it says 5 mins but appeared after 1 minute for me). I am sure there is a valid technical reason for this but it’s a shame the location doesn’t accompany the alert in the first instance.
    – SENSITIVITY SMARTNESS: I have seen reviews that say the sensitivity is too high (it can be changed in settings) however my experience of it set to ‘normal’ is that it is very docile. I have a cheapo motion sensor on my bike (8) and it does a very good job of differentiating between wind and a nudge – it never gives false positives, ever (owned it for a year) and it is far more sensitive to being touched. I hope Monimoto can work on this somehow if of course it is possible and in scope for the product.
    – GROUPING ALERTS would make it a little easier to see alerts that are related to an overall event being grouped together in the app.
    – KEY FOB WEAKNESS – The fob has a very small and thin piece of plastic to hook to a key ring, I connected a mini cable tie to it instead of on the key ring, I expect connecting the fob to metal will break the plastic (I’ve seen a review where this has happened and I can see why).
    – PHONE ONLY – because the tracker already knows when your phone is nearby through Bluetooth it would be great if instead of the fob you just needed to use your phone.

I should have checked more carefully before buying my Monimoto tracker, but I am a little disappointed that the tracker only gives exact coordinates when it is outside?

So consider a ‘theft’ scenario? Someone wants to nick my motorbike? Can they ride it away, no, steering lock is on and they don’t have the key. So unlikely to be stolen by riding/pushing the bike.

Next option would be to pick the bike up and put it in a van and drive it away, then remove it from the van and put it inside a building of some description. This means that the GPS is not going to be able to kick in and exact coordinates of the bikes location are not present.

When no GPS the GSM coordinates were out in my case by about a mile, in an urban area this could mean that the bike is anywhere really?

So it is a usefull thing as it will tell me if anyone moves my bike, but not able to give accurate cooridinates unless the tracker can get GPS signal?

Tracker gives a daily update notification to your phone to say it is working.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI didn’t want a wired in tracker as thieves will just cut the wires at the battery.

So I chose the Moni Moto as it has its own battery and can be hidden somewhere, on the bike.

Set was easy enough and if you shake the bike, you will receive an alarm phone call and GPS location.

Luckily none of it’s features have had to be used.

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersMy scooter alarm (disc lock) went off about a minute before the Monimoto logged movement and tried to call me whilst I was on the phone to 999. Having seen two blokes manhandling the scooter into the back of a van.

I was able to update the police on its location with the GPS updates and it was found by police exactly where it said it was.

The alarm reset when I arrived with the keys (thinking they may have found and dumped the tracker and it’s better I confirm that than waste police time telling them the scooter is there!) And they were on scene with scooter, offenders vehicle and police dogs etc.

This just saved me having to replace my scooter...

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAmazing product. Easy to set up and install. I have had it for 7 months so far and it works great. Keep the FOB with you, put the tracker somewhere in your bike and that’s it.
    What I like:
    – simple – it does what it should – keeps an eye on your bike, if moved then it sends a notification on your phone and calls you
    – daily status check – send you a notification telling you if it works ok
    – small – both the FOB and the tracker are very small and well designed
    – install and forget
    – subscription – annual for 30-ish – you won’t find a cheaper one; you can use your own SIM card if you want
    – relays on both GPS and GSM signals – if GPS is not available it will provide location based on GSM but will keep trying GPS next time
    – Runs on batteries – no need to connect to your bike battery so it doesn’t drain nor relay on it.

    Issues so far:
    – about once a month it gives an error during status check. All you need to do is either to wait for the next one next day or just go to your bike and open the app.
Other than that no problems at all.

An amazing unit. So simple to set up and start monitoring. Installation is as difficult or as easy as you want it to be depending on where you position it. Accuracy as long as you have clear site to the sky is very accurate. What can I say best money I have spent in along time

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery good product. No real problems thus far. Testing facility is very reassuring as is the accuracy of the GPS tracking. Battery life is impressive and the tech is easy to use.

Only downsides are how bulky the tracker is and how cheaply made the plastic key fob is.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our Users…where I’ve hidden mine. But it is where the sun doesn’t shine. Still gets GPS/GSM signals though so if my new bike gets stolen, I’ll be coming after whatever little scrote nicked it…

[Update Feb 2021]: Almost 2.5 years in on this product and it is still going strong. It pinged my genuinely once when someone did attempt to steal it, so the system works well. Unusually for products such as this the support remains excellent. I had an issue with the tracker not connecting to the cellular network but a few back-and-forths (and a device reset later) everything is working again. Great product and great suppo

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI have this for two months now. It is right in the sweet spot between no trouble and inexpensive installation, and still providing enough alarm and tracking features.

    First the limitations:
    * It works with GPS, not radio. So if the bike is hidden in a covered area like a garage, tracking it is very imprecise, since it only uses the GSM signals.
    * During tracking, it only reports its position every minute or so, so no real time tracking.
    * GSM SIM card only.

    Now for the good things:
    * Relatively inexpensive when compared with other trackers. That includes the monthly fee for the SIM card. Comes included with 3 month fees, and then it is just a few pounds a month. In addition, you can use your own SIM card, if you have a better deal. And includes roaming too.
    * Good sensitivity.
    * No need to splice the wire harness. Simply drop it under the seat and you are done.

All in all, it gives me peace of mind knowing that I have a tracker just in case of theft, without having to attach it to the electric circuit of the bike or worry about expensive monthly fees.

Would buy it again any time.

Perfect for my electric bicycle. I have tried at least 4 diferent products before i found this. And im amazed. Perfect idea, not needing to track unless in alarm mode. This allows me to keep the device for months before needed to charge the battery. The technical support is fast and helpful. The device is well made (except for the keyring) in general im very veey satisfied.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersProduct arrived on time and in good order. As the setup will not work on an Apple Mac, I had to use my PC Laptop. This worked OK and the installation was straight forward and successful. The instructions as supplied with the unit are not very helpful and you have to go and look at the tutorial online.
I have tested the operation and the system works well in my local area. I have yet to trial the unit further afield and when touring in Europe.
The only down side is that the unit is rather large and is difficult to fit on the bike secretively.
Consider the Monimoto to be good value for money, simple and effective and would recommend its purchase.

The best tracker on the market today, easy to install, easy setup, works with an app, can be quite sensitive but that very adjustable with the app.

A great tracker/alarm for your motorbike. Had it a few months so far and run some test to see how it works. Perfect, gives you peace of mind protection.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersAfter seeing a lot of good reviews I Bought this instead of more expensive trackers and I have been very impressed.
Easy to set up and manage. It takes a little effort to work out how it operates (activated when the Bluetooth key is out of range) I would recommend this to anyone thinking about getting a tracker but not wanting to spend huge sums of money.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFitted this to my motorbike after the tracker I had consumed alot of power from the battery. This one has its own battery and is independent from the bike. It is requires no effort to use, as long as you have the key on your person. I did a 20 mile journey without the key and was able, with the phone app to track where and when my bike went. I have Thatcham approved devices for my bike, but it is reassuring to know if it is stolen, I have a good chance of getting it back.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHad two faults with it and only had it about a month, first key fob was faulty but they did send me a new one quite quick. Then app kept saying data error, took two to three days to keep trying inbuilt fault rectifyer but overall seems to be quite good so far . Had to put fob in a tin as it was to close to bike and therefore not activating alarm as it thought you were near it .

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThis is my first ever tracker.
I’ve been looking to get one for some time, but complicated installation and expensive monthly fees put me off.
When I heard about MoniMoto I was immediately hooked — diy installation and minimum monthly fees (just 3, you can’t get a cheaper SIM).
I had mine easily fitted with double-sided velcro in the tail fairing, though dissasambly was required.
I tested the device and it is very quick to respond to motion on the bike and call me within 30 seconds. GPS location followed shortly in the app.
My only issues with the Monimoto are:
    * Keyfob range is too big, alarm is deactivated with bike in the driveway and keys in the house; I wish there was an off switch on the key fob; I ended up using a Faraday cage key box to block the signal;
    * If I change my smartphone I will have to reset the device in order to be able to connect to it again with the new phone, though the alarm and tracking will continue to work as normal.
    * I wish it also had an RF beacon police could use to further narrow down the location if no gps is available;
    * I wish this was Tatcham and police appproved in order to get an insurance discou

    Simple and efficie

Golden Review Award: 60 From Our UsersVery pleased with this so far. The setup was simple and only took 5 minutes or so to get up and running. Once I found a suitable place to hide the transmitter on my bike, I gave it a short test run. I left the key fob in my garage and rode off without it. Within about 20 seconds I received a phone call from the Monimoto, alerting me that the bike had moved and when I stopped and checked on my ‘phone, the GPS location of the bike was being accurately reported.

I have now put the key fob in the zipped waterproof trouser pocket of my bike trousers, so it’s always with me when I ride the bike. Keeping the keys separate from the fob means that if somebody steals the keys to my bike, they don’t have the fob, so the alarm call will alert me and GPS tracking will help me retrieve the bike. The monimoto will arm and disarm itself without any further intervention from me (unless I wear the wrong trousers), and I have complete peace of mind that I’ll be called within seconds if anyone else moves the bike. The batteries should last for about 2 years, according to the manufacturer, and the app on my ‘phone will warn me when they are getting low.

The tracker looks to be suitably robust and waterproof, so hopefully should provide many years of good service. When I eventually swap my bike for a new one, the device can also be swapped over to the new bike for the cost of two new cable ties. The other great selling point is that this does not need to be wired into the bike’s electrical system at all, so installation is easy and it does not risk damaging the bike’s wiring loom. It’s also completely inconspicuous when installed, so any thief is unlikely to find and disable the device before I have tracked down the bike’s location and informed the police.

I would heartily recommend this product, based on my brief experience of it to date. This is due to its ease of use, quick and effective notification of a possible theft and GPS tracking of the location of the bike to maximise the chance of quickly recovering it. Running costs in the longer term are 3 Euros a month for the GSM SIM card with European roaming, or I can replace the SIM with one of my own if I can find a lower cost deal.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersThis is a great alternative to the more expensive integrated GPS systems I have seen around. The unit fits under the seat of my sportsbike or comes with cable ties so you can tie elsewhere. The app is easily downloaded and I was able to set it up fairly quicly. Have been using for several weeks now. The sales pitch says that you will receive a phonecall and text updates if the unit notices movement and cannot detect the fob. The gardener in my block fell into my bike an gave it a fair jolt, happened to see by chance out the window, few seconds latery phone rang and the app indicated movement on the bike just as advertised. Puts my mind at ease that I will know if anything happens to my bike and i can track it. Very much worth the money.
