I love it. My wife uses this amazing light to pai
There are superficially similar but much cheaper lamps on Amazon that appear roughly the same as this one, but trust me, they are not. I already have been using a NeatFi lamp for five years, and so when I got this, the magnifying equivalent of the lamp I have had for so long, my hopes were up. I was not disappointed.
The lens is really big and ultra clear. The light is so even. Its handy having that dimming function too, as the full brightness is a tad too bright for continuous use.
Two things I would have liked though: a replacement lens (even if it is a seperate purchase), because I can see this lens becoming scratched at some point in the future; but also I would have liked to have seen is alternative magnification lenses, because some of the work I do demands higher magnification. They went through the trouble of designing the lamp to have the lens easily removable, but apparently (somebody correct me if I am wrong), they do not supply alternative or replacement lenses.
I’m a scale modeller and sometimes the detail involved in painting requires magnification and cold white light. This item delivers both to an excellent standard. The desk grip mechanism is robust and the whole build conveys a sense of quality
Great product. Does exactly the job I need it to. Swings easily to the distance/height needed and doesn’t strain my eyes
Time spent researching
Fount this to be the best on the market to date.
Money well spent.
Cant really compare with others except that this works well.
Good size lens. Nice and bright. Good reach and easily adjustable
I got this for use working on electronic projects. As I wear vari-focal glasses the wearable gizmo I had (the kind with the set of different magnification lenses that looks rather like a baseball cap) was a pain to use.
Apart from the misleading specification I am more than happy with this magnifier, which also doubles as a rather nice desk lamp.
I’ve just finished soldering some seriously fiddly stuff and have to say that it was a very relaxed process.
I’m just printing a cover for the lens. The manufacturers could, at minimal expense, have included a simple bag to cover it.
Overall opinion?
Well worth the money if you do a lot of close detailed work.
Recommended.
Bought this for my husband and he loves it. He has been able to clear all the other lamps and gadgets away from his desk as this lamp/ magnifier is everything he needs. This is an excellent product and is well worth the money.
Had to return it not because it wasn’t working but because the magnification wasn’t strong enough. Aunty going blind and this seemed to be the solution to free up here hands so she could measure her blood glucose herself. Unfortunately it just wasn’t strong enough.
I use it for reviewing architectural and topographic surveyors drawings.
It has clear magnification and is bright and is easily adjustable.
I’m using this for close electronics soldering work and I’m finding the light brightness and large size of the magnifier just right for my needs.
This is a nice quality magnifier with a good magnification level and nice brightness including a dimmer. The cable is integrated into the mechanism making for a neat looking solution. Bottom clamp mechanism needs a piece of wood or foam to prevent it marking the desk but other than that very good. A little more expensive than others but I suspect it will last longer.
Firstly let me say I am very pleased with my magnifier. I’ve only had it a few days so my review may be limited. Lovely big space to see your work using the 7″ lens. Light is good.
There are a few things that I think they could improve on if they want perfection, but it wouldn’t stop me buying it again. The item appears to be well made and pretty well designed.
Here are some minor gripes.
1. The lens is plastic, so if working with items that become static such as when sanding polymer, it did draw some of the dust to it. I may try some anti static spray on the lens as I don’t want to scratch it.
2. It doesn’t come with a lens cover, so I like to keep something over it when not in use, as I managed to burn a hole through my curtains once with a magnifying mirror (duh, don’t want to do that again!)
3. Whilst it holds its position well, it does take a bit of tweaking to get it in the optimum position. I do think they could improve a bit on the swivel of the head.
4. Keep your had well away from the arm when positioning it as I managed to pinch my hand between the bars. (By now you’ve probably figured out I’m accident prone).
I hope that helps someone. I would have scored it 4.5 if it had been an option. It’s a good piece of kit.
Well made LED illuminated lamps with four levels of brightness. The big lens area is a great asset and is exactly what was needed.
It has been such a useful addition to my sewing room. Great for seeing in detail what I am sewing and probably more importantly being able to undo mistakes with out destroying the fabric e.g. undoing button holes! It felt extravagant to spend this type of money but I have no regrets.
Order execution was like a machine!
High Quality finish. The Structure, the variable Light Setting, and themagnifyin glass are all superb.
The magnifying glass is HUGE! See photos for an attempt at showing this. I actually considered sending it back when I opened the box. But then I set it up- and I’m totally sold on it. The light is superbly bright (OK, you have to hit the power button multiple times to turn it off, as the power button is also the dimmer button, but that’s not a problem). And the mechanism is very well balanced and smooth. The clamp needs padding if you don’t want to make a circular groove in the underside of a wooden table, but a piece of left over cloth did the trick. I’m using this to sew with, and it’s perfect for both general illumination of the sewing space, and magnifying my working area when I need to unpick or hand sew something.
I thought I was going to need another to cover the full working area (80cm by 170cm table). Nope, one is fine.
Used this to replace my many years old magnifier.
Not found an angle I cannot get.
More than bright enough, and can also be dimmed.
Lens nice and clear.
Certainly recommend it for bench work, soldering etc.
This lamp is large and my desk small so was a little worried it would be a bit much. Also, my desk is glass, so I thought that might cause an issue. But I need to see detail and with more light as I paint so I wanted to give it a try. I needn’t have worried and am so glad I put it on my wish list for Christmas. It’s perfect for my desk, does the job well both for magnification and for lighting. I couldn’t ask for anything better. Also it fit to my desk really simply. I cut a small piece of felt / cloth just to protect my glass desk from the clamp. I fit it all on my own and didn’t need any help – it was that easy. I’m chuffed to bits with it. It’s worth the money IMO and I would recommend it. 5 stars from me.
Use this for hobby electronics and soldering. Always need to magnify and light the subject. Massive lens and great bright light almost perfectly diffused.
I love this lamp, I am partially sighted and this enabled me to start doing some of my hobbies again, I just wish I had realised that it wasn’t on a stand and so it has to be clamped to the coffee table
Extremely good build quality. Feels overpriced at 110. LEDs coul be brighter. Overall happy with purchase.
The angle arm is good and easy to adjust and lock. But the worst feature is that the lens/light unit does not have a ball joint and simply will not go to any angle, sometimes you have to move the attachment point on the base.
Only just received this and the extended warranty requirements forces your to add a review. Not good Neatfi, give the extended warranty on your belief in the quality of your products, not on a forced review.
Great Product very large glass great leds sturdy stand good magnification…..
Just started paint figurines and wanted a magnifying lamp with sufficient brightness and good magnification for painting miniatures. The 5 diopter lens is perfect as it has enough magnification, good depth of field and enough room to work on the figurine with a brush. The stand is sturdy and strong, and the head has a nice ball joint allowing you to set the lamp at the angle you need it.
I did take quite a while deciding whether to buy this lamp due to the price, as there are lots of cheeper alternatives. I am so far really pleased with getting this lamp and feel happy that I’ve paid more to get a premium product.
Good lens, light is bright enough, easy to move around.
Absolutely great product. I would like slightly more magnification but this is one of the largest one of it’s kind me that extra viewing space makes it so much better than any one I’ve had before.
I like to cross stitch and I stitch photo cross stitches on 22ct hardanger. Doing it without magnification is possible but I wouldn’t recommend it. I have used this magnification daylight lamps for years but the ones I have used have the 2.25 magnification (like this one) but have 4.5-5 inch magnifier. Meant I was having to adjust quite often and would also mean things would go out of focus (which was hard on my eyes) because I was moving across the canvas. This has made it so much clearer and easier I spend hours stitching. I tried the Daylight XL but had to send it back because it would not stay in position. The magnifier was too loose and gravity would pull it down. I did have to put tape around the end that pushes into the clamp as there was a little movement there and the weight would drag the whole unit round. But that has solved this issue and I can happily move it into any position I want.
Basically, I would really recommend this product.
Works great exactly as expected. Really sorry to say that I would only recommend it if you really need a huge , powerful, bright light magnifier, which I do (asI am registered blind) but is so big it would take over a small lounge
Nice, solid construction. The lens is massive (I did read the description but it still surprised me). The lamp is very bright and gives a nice all-round light. I’m not sure how useful the 20 diopter bit is going to be though – I was hoping it would be a bit bigger. As it is it’s a bit hard to line the work up with it.
I am very impressed with this product!! For me it works very well, well balanced arms and the four lamp brightness modes are great. In a workshop environment it doses the the job well , the magnifier lens is very useful for electronic engineering works. I am in the process of purchasing the task light for more light in precision work, where more light is required for engineering. Again it has adjustable light mode from 6000k LED
bright white to warm 3000k. I think these lights are value for money.
I’ve just started botanical illustration and at 52, my eyesight isn’t what it was. This lamp is brilliant for both magnification and illumintation. I looked at a few, but this one is deifnitely the top pick and pretty reasonably proced for what it is. Very happy.
Only had it one day but yes it’s good especially if you have bad eyesight I use it to see inside the radio transmitters it makes life easier and faste
Very useful light with magnification to help elderly dad read his newspape
So far, no dislikes. It is everything I hoped fo
Very pleased with this manifying lamp, I bought it for the extra large
magnifying lens, and its perfect for my requirements
So far so good. Bought it for my office as I need really good lighting conditions for soldering work and other fine detail work. It is very bright, measured with calibrated white light meter and it gives about 1380lux @ 38cm (15 inches) (not sure why Amazon turned the photo sideways), so it is adequate for fine work. Magnifying glass good quality and really big. When ordering, I never realised it is that big lamp stays in place where you need it, but sometimes it is hard to get the right angle, but probably because my desk is quite small.
Cons:
1) manual says that it has memory, and when you turn the lamp on it should switch to the brightness setting which was left, but it isn’t so. Every time you switch the light on, you have to choose which brightness you want.
2) no base. Only clamp and when you put lamp into that clamp it is a bit wobbly, but nothing to worry too much.
3) price. There are way cheaper options with smaller magnifying glass and less brightness, same arms etc, but different name.
It has a wide lens which is easy to manoeuvre.
Used this for my cross stitch projects nice big magnifying glass and light that you can adjust the brightness of but it’s damn heavy with a strong spring action so as you are trying to get it into the right position watch your face because it springs everywhere ouch !
I needed a large lens with bright, daylight LEDs for working with electronic components. This unit ticks both boxes. The angle arms and head are fully adjustable and stay in position whatever angle they are set at. The lens can easily be removed for cleaning and the 20 diopter inset lens can be positioned as required. My only concern is acrylic lenses are softer than glass and scratch more easily. However, a glass lens of this size would be much heavier, require more bulky arms and be more costly. I take the simple precautions of keeping it covered when not in use and wipe it with the soft cloth provided. Great product.
