Don’t know were to start really. This is fantastic tiny portable can that makes magic moving pictures yes you do need to be in a dark space but it could be in a tent on a beach or on to the side of a van the options yours. Portability is second to none, battery life is about three hours a good movie and a mess about. Add a phone power bank and the skies the limit. Aner have been a great company I contacted them and they help me update the projector to now have Google play. Very helpful and friendly. Cant recommend enough. Combined with my phones Internet snd I have my own drive in movie plus pretty much any flat white surface makes a great screen. Sound is loud and clear, picture looks great. Its a no brainer really. Keep an eye out for a lightning deal.
Very compact projector which packs a punch for the size! Sound is very good, picture acceptable and unit very well built.
The only irritant for me is the OS and Remote both of which need improving! I have resorted to plugging in a firestick just for the access to apps and their UX.
Would I buy again… Probably when on sale yes.
I am really happy with this purchase. My wife wasn’t keen on having a TV in the bedroom and I’m really glad because I’d much rather have the projector. I am already a fan of Anker products so it was a no brainer going for the capsule. I’ve deliberately waited a while to write this review because I wanted to make sure I knew everything about it. The picture quality is great, the room doesn’t have to be completely dark in order to see the screen, the 4 hour play time seems pretty accurate and the sound quality is really impressive for the size. The only issue I have found (and the answer can be found online, I can’t remember it) but the netflix app does not run to a high quality (something to do on netflixs end). It is the only streaming platform I have watched so far that appears pixilated on screen. As much as I hope something can be done about that in the future, it does not change how highly I rate it as the other streaming platforms I use: amazon prime video, disney+, YouTube and BBC iplayer have all displayed a clear, high quality image. I’ve hooked up my PlayStation to it as well and it made for great playing.
FYI, the app store that comes with is not the Google play store, but you can simply email Nebula and ask for a password and instructions on how to join their BETA in order the get the play store. If I’m honest though, getting it has not made much difference for me as the nebula store had everything I needed.
I brought this item for when I go away. It’s portable and plays a great picture. I would highly recommend anyone to purchase one of these.
Amazing bit of kit. Bought as a portable device to take away with me I now use it every night. No need for a screen and projects great on our light grey walls. Children use it when they have friends round for a cinema effect in their rooms, so avoids having to buy them a tv. Easy use and the remote app on your phone is much better than the one that comes with it. Sound is amazing for its size to the extent that I cancelled the external surround sound I ordered. Have Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon prime installed and they play really well. Generally connect a portable charger when I take it away. Bought a decent mini tripod 12 and the storage case 12 off eBay. Don’t expect effects of a 500 full size projector but it’s not far short for the money. Much better than the apeman 90 projector I bought last year!
Its not cheap but its quality and a great projecto
Good sound and picture. Tripod a bit small but happy with it.
Found this so easy to set up, mirrored home videos from my iPhone to the projector. Kids loved it. Hoping to take it to the business events I attend instead of heavy marketing materials.
High resolution image quality, clear sound and good customer service.
Some apps are not compatible.
I had hunted for ages trying to find a projector for my campervan that would work on a power supply like 12 volt cigarette lighter or 5 volt usb charger, and this one finally fits the bill.
Charging is easy and you can run movies on it whilst it is charging too.
My 5 volt 2 amp usb charger ports work fine with this device.
Whilst the projector is charging up using the mini usb port and lead provided, you can still run an hdmi lead to it from a portable dvd player, or stream movies to it via your iphone for services like Youtube.
The picture size will depend on how far away you set the projector from your screen, but the options are very good on how you stand or mount it. There is a tripod threaded screw port to connect this up to a tripod if you want, or you could mount it to the ceiling and set the picture to flip or reverse etc, depending on your setup.
You really do need a dark setting to get a bright picture though. Trying this in daylight or with curtains drawn in the daytime, will definitely be affected by ambient light coming into the van, so don’t expect the 100 ANSI lumen LED buld to give you a brilliant picture in anything less than darkness.
The resolution is lowish at 854×480, but for a campervan setup where it is unlikely you will have the distance to get a picture above 50 inches, this is not a problem, because at that size it looks perfectly clear and bright.
If you are planning to go bigger, then expect a more pixellated effect and lower brightness. This thing is not a 240 volt 3000 ANSI lumen home projectore.
The projector is very compact in size. It really is like a can of soda pop, and the 360 degree built in 5 watt speaker is powerful enough to be heard clearly in a smallish setting. There isnt much dynamic range of course, or heavy bass response, but it certainly isn’t a feeble tinny transistor radio sound.
i have tested this indoors using my wi-fi connection, and got Amazon Prime video working on it fine, as well as You tube videos. I also connected a portable dvd unit to it via HMDI and it worked fine.
Picture was tested from a distance of about a metre, giving about a 30 ins picture, to 3 metres giving about 100 ins picture, and in the dark room it looked fine at either size.
Amazing bit of kit, that can also double as a Bluetooth speaker as well.
I would recommend downloading the Nebula application to your iPhone to control the projector, as the remote can be a bit fiddly when trying to type in mouse mode for searching to movies etc. The phone app makes this a lot easier to achieve.
Very impressed with this little product, it’s as small as described and very lightweight. It’s very easy to set up, the only slight issue is with using the remote / the app. Some apps only work with the app controller via mobile which can be difficult to select the intended programme. Although I think we will get use to it. Overall very good produc
Great projector. We looked at so many but this was the one for us. Portable and has usb charging. Perfect for use in a motorhome
Fantasic purchase. Easy to download tv and movies onto to watch anywhere. Great picture, brightness and easy to use. 10/10 from me
Had this for 1 week now and very impressed! Size, volume, ease of use is all great. The picture quality is good but sometimes the brightness can be a little duller than wanted, but overall very happy with purchase so far.
Wow far better than I hoped for!
Bright enough for inside or outdoors from dusk and with it supporting Bluetooth streaming to external audio (the built in speaker is fine for its size) opens up real opportunities!
Hey all
i bought this for my girls as we are moving house, and they love it its like a night at the movies every time.
Its really tiny for what it is and the picture quality at 100+ inchs is amazing, in day light its not that bright but even in a darkish room its nice and clear, the sound that comes out the unit is clear for how small it is.
it come with netflix and youtube on it which is a plus but you need the Nebula app on your phone to use it as netflix dont surport the remote, it has around 1.5/4 hours worth or battery depending on brightness.
with warmer nights coming up i cant wait to take it in the garden with a white sheet and have a movie night with the family, with a brand like Anker you cant go wrong, good quality and a good price.
Great device-compact and clear images as well as sound. Recently ran into some difficulty with it where it kept turning itself off. On contacting Anker customer services, Marvin promptly responded, identified the potential issue and sent on a new plug with the ability to fast charge the projector. This resolved the issue. I was very impressed by Marvin’s assistance and how quickly the issue was resolved.
I buyer this projector for a video mapping project in the forest, and because it has a long last battery!
The image quality is very good, and for us gas super useful to use with a tripod.
It was easy to use, to focus, and super portable. Although its very small, or smaller than expected, it is also very steady!
Definitely it is with the money
The picture quality is brilliant and it’s has android built in so you can down load Amazon or netflix.
We’ve only had the Nebula for a couple of days but it has changed a seldom used spare room into a cinema room. We can now watch favourite movies on a 100 inch screen. We have put in a blackout blind, as it needs darkness but with this added picture quality is great. We’ve linked it via HDMI to various devices to play games, watch films and live football. The size of a can of coke, it is definitely small enough to be portable. We are looking forward to trying it outside while entertaining although it would need to be dark. Great fun for an entry level device.
Excellent product. Took me a long time to learn and find this but have been very happy with it. Makes a hissing noise but it is worth the money.
Best piece of kit I own. I treasure it. Great for the big games and movie nights. Lockdown heaven send
Works really well as a home projector, portability is obviously incredible, good battery life.
‘Only’ 100 lumens (whatever they are) but as a casual/home user this is no problem. As a previous review said, it obviously looks better in lower light! Can see from the pictures that, even in daylight, it is visible, and it looks better in real life. Or I could have just closed the blinds!!!
The in-built app store isn’t the best, but you can contact Anker to request full access to the Google Play Store, which allows access to iPlayer/ITV/All4/etc. Their customer support was really quick at doing this for me.
Remote is decent although quite a few apps are not compatible with it, so you can only use their ‘Nebula Connect’ app on your smartphone, which functions as a mouse (cursor appears on projector screen). Either way though, it’s really easy to use!
Amazing device, definitely a 5*!
Picture quality is nowhere near a good TV. But very portable with a lovely desig
I really like the product but I have been struggling with the battery. Inventory if I keep it charged whilst watching a movie it seems like it does not charged and just switch off at some point. Any suggestion on how to improve this would be welcomed.
Absolutely love it! I don’t have a TV because I just stream from the Internet, so this is perfect for me and no big TV sat in the room.
Its really easy to use. I use the app on my phone to set it up and use it.
Great battery life. Speaker not too loud on its own, but I just bluetooth to another speaker I have as well.
Its wonderful having my own portable cinema!
It’s good but wish it had zoom in features – picture quality is pretty good and it’s a nice size but it is heavy
Really good picture quality. Can use with a variety of streaming apps.
Only downfall is it’s not amazing in daylight…but then it’s a projector, I wouldn’t expect it to be!
Customer support is amazing so even if you do come across any issues they address it straight away. I had an issue with BBCiplayer and they gave me the steps to fix it right away. They even follow up if they’ve had no response.
Overall we are happy with our Nebula Capsule, it is fairly easy to use and generally has a good sound and visual quality. What could be improved on though is firstly it would be useful for there to be some sort of indicator (a light for example) that shows whether or not the Nebula is connected to WiFi, so that if the WiFi disconnects for whatever reason, you don’t have to check its status via settings every time. Secondly, its batterylife is not very good, so it must be recharged quite often, which can be a bit of an incovenience.
An amazing little device and powerful projection. I couldn’t connect my phone to the device to cast so purchased an external Google Chrome but HDMI work perfectly.
Perfect product, if you can buy higher model with 200 l
Great little device!!
Purchased as I didn’t want to put a tv in the bedroom so this is perfect!
Apps and scrolling on the device take a while to get used to but once you get the hang of it the Nebula is nice and easy to use! You have to auto focus which takes a little patience but again you get used to it!
Really pleased with my purchase even with a larger price tag!
Really impressed and pleased with this mini projector. Bought in Black Friday sale (so great price too!) – the whole family love it. The picture, sound, quality are all great! Fab for home movies and tv – have used it all over the house, even projected onto the wall in the bath! We purchased a tripod for it which I’d recommend doing, as it adds to the stability and positioning when using it. Such a neat, small handy size will probably use on trips too. Most apps work on it (Netflix, Disney etc.) but note some not available currently not a problem though as lots do.
Considering how small this is (basically a soft drink can size), it’s really nifty. It pumps out pretty good sound (though not that much base) and works well as our main projector. It can download and store videos as well as streaming them directly through the apps.
As you’d expect for the price and small size there are some compromises, the picture quality won’t be great compared to an HD TV or projector, it still benefits from being plugged into an external speaker when portability isn’t an issue.
My main bugbear was with the app navigation. The kit is really nearly there, the touch pad functionality on the app is really clever but there isn’t much consistency between when you can use the keypad on your phone vs when you have to use the touchpad to press the keys individually on the screen (time consuming). I expect some of this is because the apps are designed by 3rd parties but the consequence is the user experience isn’t always very smooth. There seem to be some important streaming service apps missing too. Can’t remember exactly but don’t think we managed to find Disney+, AppleTV+, BBC IPlayer, Channel 4, ITV.
Got it as a present for my daughter for Christmas, is perfect for watching Netflix, although needs unlocking so we can use apps like Disney plus but have been informed that we can do that, but she is very happy with i
The projector itself is great and I’m really impressed with the sound quality. Also, the product is the size of a can, so also very good to bring on a trip or move from one room to another. I would for sure recommend it. The only downside is that you can’t control the size of the projection, so for small rooms you might need to buy the Capsule II, which comes with this feature. In our bedroom, for example, a very small portion of the “screen” goes to the ceiling, but it doesn’t really bother us. Also, the seller is great! I had a delivery problem caused by Amazon, but Amazon didn’t solve it, so I contacted the seller directly and they promptly helped me.
Fantastic design combined with excellent build quality. Picture does not disappoint. Software support from Nancy at “Anker” was brilliant!
For its size and price this is a brilliant projector. The fan can be a little noisy but the sound and picture are brilliant. You can connect Bluetooth headphones or sound bars to it. Only vice is you need to download content in the Netflix app rather than stream for it to be watchable (more of an issue with the Netflix app than the projector). I also use it to help me map out photos to paint for commissions I do. You can mirror your phone and flip the projection. Well worth the money. Movie nights in bed are a great alternative to the cinema with COVID going o
Amazing product. Was dubious at first but so glad I bought it. Good sound quality and great picture for such a small projector.
We love this projector. Great picture, very quiet, small and portable around the house.
Would highly recommend
Great and super portable. Works really well as a blue tooth speaker. Doesn’t work with everything but if you want a film from prime or Netflix it’s great.
Very surprised by the quality of the picture is really good. Nice an small, nice sound system. But only thing I would change is the remote control where you point it. It should have one at the back so you don’t interfere with the projector screen.
Brilliant bit of kit … great picture and easy to use
This is an excellent little projector which has come in handy for camping trips and occasionally throwing onto the wall. It works best after dusk in low light conditions rather than in full daylight. The app operation and user interface a really really good. I’ve completed almost everything I’ve tried first time without failure things like playing from apps, casting from my phone and plugging HDMI all very intuitive. It’s amazing to think it’s doing all of this on battery which seems to last a very long time. User interface, battery sound quality and picture are all integrated brilliantly. All in all very happy with the purchase I would consider the next model up if I wanted it for daytime use but this is great for evening home cinma experience while out and about.
Love it!
Great product with solid image and great sound. Another great product by Anker.
portable, easy to set up and use, the pic quality is acceptable when used in a dark room.
the battery goes down very quickly. and the app store is full of the useless app. which why I markdown one star.
This product is great- good quality- Nebula were also very helpful on technical support to upgrade software. A great piece of ki
I did not buy mine from Amazon but hope this review will help Amazon customers.
First impression was a great little device. Picture quality is superb and played back movies from a thumb drive perfectly. I then hit a few issues. Firstly it is not possible to use the internal storage for data. It seems only possible to use it for software. I then found that although it is possible to connect devices such as iPhones and computers and then use the projector screen some apps such as Sky block the projector assuming you are trying to send the programme to a recorder. There is a solution. See later.
The next problem I found was that although the home screen shows Amazon and other logos the apps still needs to be downloaded and every download failed. I contacted Anker and they quickly sent a solution which was a little awkward but worked and soon had Amazon and Youtube playing. Still some problems with downloads though and Anker suggested I try downloading a Beta software which they sent me. This transformed the device.
I now have BBC iPlayer, Sky, and other apps and the Beta also added the Google Play Store for apps which is vastly better than the store shipped plus other Google apps. All run well and by using the Nebula iPhone app everything is easy to control. I now have a usable web browser, video players and other useful apps on board.
The advertised playback of 4 hours is rather optimistic but 3 + is OK and enough to run a film on battery. Using a decent USB charger though means it can run using mains power when available. I have found that battery life drops considerably if the iPhone app is running. It’s a great little app and really useful if you need to type in passwords etc but as it uses Bluetooth it takes a lot of battery power. Use it when you need to but the supplied remote is good enough most of the time.
It has taken a few emails back and forward with Anker but all is now great and I will say that this and my previous experience with contacting Anker has been really good and I have found their product support to be excellent.
Bottom line is that this is a great little product and the only reason for dropping one star is that it took a few emails with Anker to get there.
Small but very good, you need a good WiFi signal, nut watched films and Netflix outside in the evenings. Can not fault this little uni
Great buy! Picture quality is very very good and you decide on the picture size I would recommend getting the stand for it though
No dislikes. Fantastic product loaded up a file then down to the beach to watch
OUTSTANDING! Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Not only is it portable which was one of the main reasons to buy but the picture is amazing! Cinema night has changed forever x
I absolutely love this product! We bought so that we could have a movie night for my sons birthday. We had a few teething problems during the process and some of the apps wouldn’t work at all and could not be installed. I contacted nebula support and was given lots of advice by a lovely helpful lady called Sharon. It took a few emails but I have to say that they responded to all of my emails every day with new suggestions on how to overcome my issues. I followed their advice and was successfully able to install the apps. This product is brilliant and the sound is very clear and loud for such a small projector. We are definitely looking forward to some amazing movie nights!
I love how great and versatile this is.. Took me a while to work out the control on the app haha but when I learnt it was amazing. Google services don’t work can’t load fb etc and won’t download the apps from my WiFi have to connect to my hot-spot on phone but I’m talking to the people who own the product and they are very fast to reply and amazing to help u work it and find a solution etc. Its amazing to use anywhere.. Wall, ceiling any angle it works amazing. It automatically adapts to the angle and its easy to use the slide button to adjust the pic to the view. Definitely recommend but for me took a time to set up and use but the help from email made it easie
Bought the projector for my kids this is the one. As I have bought and returned few. You cant go wrong with this its easy to use perfect in every angel. A very happy custome
Basically all pros:
+ Really small – which makes it portable (not only for trips but also around your flat), nice for someone who wants to save space and doesn’t want to have a big TV as a main decoration of their room,
+ Picture quality is extremely good for such a small device (don’t expect wonders but if you’re not extremely picky it will be more than fine, for sitting up close, choose to have projector closer to the wall, for sitting further back you can enjoy big screen, pixelation should be barely noticeable even when big),
+ Battery lasts for good 4 hours of watching, can also be used while plugged in (I like having it plugged to a power bank),
+ Can be used as a Bluetooth speaker and sound quality is great.
+ Many people were telling me that with only 100 lumens I will need to place it in a complete darkness – well it’s not really the case. You can have a small lamp on and still enjoy action movie. I also use it during the day, with blinds down it’s pretty fine, with blinds up – I wouldn’t use it to watch something with really dark colours in it but for something like Youtube workout videos it is perfectly ok.
Any disadvantages?
– Could be a bit more quiet (the fan noise, but it’s to be expected with such a small device).
Getting Netflix to work is super fiddly and not well explained…but using the projector for zoom calling / video streaming / YouTube is brillia
This is a really amazing product that definitely deserve the Red Dot design award! It is very smart to use just like Apple products: feels solid, great design, good to touch, easy connection, easy to use, and great performance. The battery last quite long actually. I use it mainly for watching Netflix/Youtube on bed. Usually for me to watch 1 hours before sleep, I can charge every 3-4 days. The projection is quite bright even with room lights on at night. It helps neck to relax when I use this to project movies on the ceiling, instead of bending my back to watch on iPad. You can just buy this amazing product unless any if the following really turns you off.
The only cons are:
– It can roll around when you move your body and it is placed on your bed. It takes some thoughts to securely and stably place it to project on the ceiling. I saw some one 3D printed a stand to let it “lie” on bed in an angle, but nothing similar available to buy yet. So you have to be creative.
– The internal sound quality is quite good for the size, but still far from immersive. However you can connect your Airpods or any bluetooth headphones easily.
– The remote control is directional IR only, meaning it only works if you are pointing the remote control towards the projector, which is an awkward situation.
– You cannot navigate the interface at all with the buttons on the projector, so you need your phone or the remote always.
This is frikin awesome? How anyone can complain about this for under 300 is beyond me. It’s got Prime, Netflix, Spotify, YouTube Kids, YouTube & Twitter!…and an entire App Store! Took a couple of hours to charge and then bam. Had it on in bed most of the evening.
For those people complaining about a fan noise?? Unless you have the volume down low, it’s no problem whatsoever.
There’s an 8GB of memory built in. Which I didn’t know when I purchased it. So you can download films to the actual device to watch when there’s no WiFi.
All in all, this is mega…everyone should own one of these!
For the size and cost of this projector it is amazing. Great picture, so small and functional. We all love it. No need for a big TV any longer!
Price is high. But undoubtedly this is a powerhouse of a projector. Superb picture and sound quality. Has very less fan noise. Extremely portable.
I had a problem with the first delivery where the device wasn’t working well. However, the support team from Anker was outstanding, and i got a replacement in a very quick way.
I highly recommend this product.
Surprised at how well it works even when it’s not dark, very portable, a bit pricey but very pleased with it.
Absolutely amazing piece of kit! I use it primarily as an alternative to a tv in my bedroom by installing Netflix and Amazon prime directly onto the device. My room is a small space where a full tv set, wires and a stand would be impossible, making this can sized device that is completely portable and self contained an ideal solution. It has the option of connecting to the speakers in my room via Bluetooth but I rarely find it necessary as the built in speaker is more than sufficient. The main complaints I have seen reagarding this are that a) the fan is loud and b) the battery doesn’t last long. Personally I think the fan is no louder than that of a laptop or games console, so if that doesn’t bother you neither should this particularly if the sounds up loud. The battery will last between an hour and a half and two hours while watching continuously but personally I think given the amount of power required to project an image, play audio etc in such a small package this is a fair battery life and couldn’t be longer without increasing its size which is what makes this device unique. The battery is enough time to watch a film or a couple of episodes of a programme. For me personally as I use it primarily in one spot where it can be plugged in while using it so the battery isn’t too much of a concern for me.
One of the best, I love it is perfect good picture quality the sound is perfect from now I don’t need to go to the cinema the best product I buy this yea
Really good bit of kit well worth it for the family. Weve got young kids so can’t get to the cinema. Now we’ve brought it to the house
I have been looking at this product for a good while now!! Thinking should I shouldn’t I.
Reading reviews etc to learn more about it. They where mixed as expected with any item.
I brought one and would defianlty say I would again.. This little projector is amazing everything about it sound picture the way the software runs without any glitches or freezing.
The apps you can download as aswell as using the USB to install extra .apk files us just great wifi stays connected and never drops screen mirroring perfect for gaming watching films play back tv.
The kids love it as they feel like they are at the cinema and even just want to watch tv through it all of the time. To of the dads in the family have orderd theres as the where pretty impressed with the quality and design etc.
My father has even asked for one for Christmas and he is 70 years old he was impressed on how easy it to use and the portability of it he borrowed mine to watch a film with my mother out in the gardern. With the log fire going.
All in all an amazing product!!…
Great little gadget! You can connect almost anything to it, speaker is really great so no need for additional speakers.
Would recommend buying a tripod as it makes it easier to find the perfect height.
Just what I needed. A tiny home cinema I can bring where-ever. Very good to listen to work music in the background and nice for movies in the evening. This is a small project so don’t expect to work in broad daylight but, at twilight works brilliantly. It has a very good picture quality even though it’s not HD + the auto screen adjust is awesome.
Obviously, the projector isn’t completely silent while projecting, but once the movie (or what ever one is watching with that little thing) is rolling, you can ignore the sound immediately. I love it!
I really like my Nebula capsule. Have been using it for film nights when camping, and it is just perfect for that use and makes for a really fun evening.
It’s ridiculously portable – about the size of the coke can. But what’s so great is that it’s all you need – the built in speaker is great, the battery life really excellent so no need to plug it in, and with the built in apps you stream or download what you want to watch so nothing to plug into it either. Just find a spot to put it and you’re done!
The picture quality is surprisingly good. Yes the resolution is low, and I thought that would bother me, but it doesn’t – you forget that pretty quickly and just get into what you’re watching. The picture is bright enough so long as you are in a darkish place, and you can always shrink the screen to make it brighter.
So all round great. And finally I’ve had some excellent support from Anker – I lost my remote (you can still use your phone as a remote via the excellent app, but when outside it meant hot spotting from my phone which was boring). Emailed Anker support to see if I could get a replacement, and they shipped me a new one from the States and charged me nothing at all. Excellent service!
I’ve bought a telescopic tripod which screws into the bottom and makes it easier to get the perfect position for it.
It’s perfect for cinema nights when campi
I offered this protector to my partner and I can say that changed in such a positive way the way we saw movies and series at home.
The can is really small but so powerful!
It has feactured such excellent sound system, the quality of the image is AMAZING, so light to transport and doesn’t nead to much space to storage.
The only detail that I wish they improve for the next model is the location of the HDMI cable. If you want to see on the movie on the ceiling you have to figure out a imaginative way to old the can because the HDMI cable is on the back side of the projector.
What a smart little machine, extremely easy to set up and obviously very portable. I purchased a camera stand for it to make life easier when projecting on to my screen.
I originally bought this as a simple solution for outside but with its rear projection capabilities I can now have the projector inside. The ability to bluetooth to external speakers was an added bonus as now I can watch on the big screen and listen to the sound coming out of my sound bar. Note that if you are going in from an HDMI external device (Set top box, Console, Firestick etc..) that the bluetooth audio option has lag of upto 1 second and certainly lessons the experience.
However, if you want to add additional Apps, that are not in the silly app store the nebula comes with, go to APKmirror and search for the app you want, download and place the app on a flashdrive. Then use the adapter that came with the system to go from USB to USB C and use the Nebula file manager to install the App. I Installed Sky Go and it works perfectly (you obviously need a legitimate Sky account to use the Sky Go App).
Great Product.
Great product and easy to use but the fan is so noisy it’s almost impossible to Ignore and quite distracting
Even though I knew the device would not be able to load google Play Store , I purchased this projector as I knew about Kodi.
I could not get Kodi to run many of the UK programs so I asked to become a beta tester for the device and once the help desk granted permission to be a beta user, I was able to unlock the full potential of the device and access play store and load Sky Go.
This runs really well on Wifi and will test in the field this weekend while camping on +4g. (using my phone as a portable hotspot), used it to watch Canadian qualifying, worked really well after nine pm, before that it was too bright outside.
It gives me access to all of the sky and ITV channels and all of the sports from Sky, and box sets. (these are only accessible as I have a full package on sky, I can now access movies and sports while on the go at no extra cost.)
I will try and load BT sports next and BBC iplayer next week. With a full package on sky I can now access movies and sports while on the go at no extra cost.
Many thanks to the help team ( [email protected] ) for this help. The password required needed my serial number and proof of purchase, I think that the password is limited to just my device.
I hope that in the future this will be part of the device for everyone.
What a great bit of gear. Easy to set up and a joy to watch. It will be great for outside movie shows with a BBQ. Had to get in touch with customer services who were absolutely brilliant and showed what customer care really means. All in all a wonderful experience and cannot recommend too highly.
I have read many reviews which are mixed on this product but having bought a cheaper smart projector and sent it back within a day I thought in comparison this had to be better. This may not suit everyone, if you want to recreate the odeon feel then spend more money. If like me you want something that you won’t use every day but when you do, you want to enjoy the picture quality and have something that is portable and has the advantage of running off a battery then this is ideal.
Have only tested the capsule and setting up Bluetooth as a speaker on its own is easy and accessing Netflix etc. The general reviews are correct – apps are limited from the store but there are work arounds. The system is buggy occasionally kicking you off an app but all that said it has its place and for me it’s perfect.
Whilst the speaker is acceptable, I connected via Bluetooth to my Amazon Echo and it made a big difference and takes this amazing Capsule to another level. Will be hard to find a budget set up that beats this!
good for use in a bedroom, but best to use in complete darkness and use a screen projector. The sound quality is fine. if you like a better sound quality you can pear with a bluetooth external speaker, unfortunatly the projector has no headphone socket.
Love this little thing. Picture quality is amazing and sound quality is also very good although slightly lacking in the bass department. No regrets buying this projector and use it every day
It is perfect for all case : I travel a lot so that’s awesome to be able to watch a movie as if I was in a theater.
It is also perfect at home: it doesn’t need much space and can easily be placed/stocked everywhere.
I highly recommend it to everyone.
This is a very impressive little power house. I live the Wi-fi connectivity and onboard storage, plus the picture is pretty good for such a compact little device.
The one negative is that the remote control it comes with is so cheap and flimsy and mine doesn’t work at all. Completely dead. It’s a shame they’ve cut corners with a cheap remote. I did write to tell them but apparently I have to take a photo of the remote and the receipt and send it to them before they’ll offer a solution, which I can’t be bothered to do because the remote is so poor I suspect I would never use it. An app on your phone does an adequate job, even if it has an annoying fault when trying to use Netflix.
I have had this product just over a week and have used it in various moments both for myself and for the kids and family. While the performance in a bright room is to be expected (faint), once you achieve a little shadow the projected image is colourful and dynamic. Audio has been as-expected too – ample for watching tv or movies. I have so far managed to pair it with my Bluetooth Apple AirPods for an awesome viewing experience and the connection was rock solid. Likewise streaming through the native Netflix and Amazon Prime apps has been solid. Very happy! Capsule 2 is due in 2019 hmmmmmm
im amaze for this kind of small projector, nice picture good sound and you can connect your phone or speaker without any wire
This is an incredible bit of kit and strongly recommended.
As a long-term home cinema owner, I was really interested to see what a little micro projector like this could do. My home cinema set-up comprises of a bulky 4K projector which is hardly portable, however this Nebula Capsule fits into my bag so I can take it to friend’s houses, take it travelling with me and watch movies in my break at work when I’m on nights. For these purposes, the Capsule is brilliant.
The Capsule itself is made of a sturdy aluminium body, and the finish has lasted remarkably well. Having travelled across many countries in my motorcycle top box and lived in my rucksack for the majority of my ownership, it has very few battle scars. I have even dropped it once onto a concrete floor from standing height (which is not advisable) and it lives on with barely a scratch!
The Capsule has one HDMI out and micro USB port on the outside. I think it would really benefit from using USB type-C instead, as most modern devices are migrating to this new standard. Also, it would be great if Anker could design the next iteration with a microSD card slot, as there are no options for expansion currently. Luckily, the modified version of Android supports USB OTG, so memory cards and USB sticks can be plugged into the Capsule. Even so, a microSD card slot would be a more elegant solution. Aside from this, the Capsule’s heavily modified version of Android is functional and performs pretty much all essential features well. Although the Capsule is not Android Play certified, the Aptiode store has pretty much all the apps you need, including ones which allow you to work around not being able to log-in to your Google accounts. So the need for Google certification is somewhat mitigated.
For picture quality the Capsule is good considering the size of the unit. Yes — the native resolution isn’t HD, but it works just fine for watching movies. You notice it more with a larger picture however even then it is fine. Projector snobs may disagree but this is the price you pay for convenience and portability. One minor annoyance I have is the focus wheel. This works well for the most part, however I have noticed that as the picture gets larger, it is increasingly difficult to have the entire picture in focus. At 80″ or above you can either choose to have a crisp picture at the bottom, top or middle, but not all at once. This isn’t a major issue as when a movie is playing you do not really notice this, but if the content you’re playing back has subtitles, it becomes more noticeable. For this reason, the Capsule is only really suitable for entertainment purposes — as displaying text can be a little iffy. Brightness is adequate for dimly lit rooms however complete darkness is required above 80″. Again, this is the price you pay for portability and convenience. The battery life is great and easily allows you to watch more than one movie, or binge watch a few episodes on your favoured streaming service. Charging the unit is nice and quick using QC 2 or Anker’s IQ 2.0 compliant chargers. Another win, too.
One major merit to the Capsule are the in-built speakers, which even beat those on my much more expensive 4k projector. It is more than able to fill a medium-sized room with reasonable quality audio playback. One of my friends watched a movie on the Capsule and was very impressed that such a small unit could produce such good audio given the size of the projector — and he is an audio engineer! You can also connect the Capsule to external speakers through Bluetooth. This worked well when connected to my Dolby Atmos sound system in my home cinema, but a little lag was noticeable. The Capsule can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker which connects automatically to my mobile when the mode is activated.
One major gripe is the controller. The IR receiver is on the back of the projector, so if the unit is behind you not all inputs are received. To remedy this, the Capsule app can be used instead, which connects to the unit via Bluetooth and has been more useful than the physical remote! The app works just as well on both Android and iOS devices, and even allows you to type text directly to the Capsule which makes free-typing far less time consuming!
So overall I absolutely love my Capsule. It is well made, comes with a great array of features and suits my adventure traveller lifestyle perfectly. I think it is important to remember that bigger 1080p projectors can be bought for less money, so if you don’t need the portability factor, the Capsule may not represent the best value for money. But if you travel, want to watch movies all over the house (or other people’s houses) then Anker’s Nebula Capsule is perfectly suited to this task. Bravo Anker!
TL;DR summary
Pros:
– Very portable
– Good picture quality considering the size of the unit
– Great sound with Bluetooth speaker option
– Runs on Android so wide choice of apps available
– Capsule Control app is a godsend
Cons:
– Focus ring needs further development
– Not Android Play compliant
– A slight bump in lumens would be welcome
– Controller sensor could do with being on the front rather than back of projecto
Small, easily portable – perfect for work or just watching movies anywhere.
Fantastic projector great help line staff are always on hand , brilliant bcakup service don’t buy a large screen TV buy this super product.
Great design, neat, easy to use and good value BUT lacks the power to be useable in anything other than a seriously dark room. If you can achieve cinema level darkness, then the image is fine. But with more than a small amount of ambient light, the picture is indistinct. Even in a dark room, scenes set at night or in the dark aren’t great. While watching, you’re heart sinks when you realise a night scene is coming up. You might end up investing in blinds and heavy curtains.
I have had a lot of projectors before, this is the smallest and most powerful, yes it doesn’t really work in daylight, but really good for the wall instead of putting up a led scree
Great quality for the size and price and a beautiful, compact design to boot. It’s fairly simple to use and connects pretty effortlessly to my computer, and wirelessly too. It has its own application screen that allows you to watch Amazon, YouTube, Netflix without connecting it to a computer, which is pretty convenient. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it is not as crisp and bright as more expensive and bigger models. Otherwise, it’s a pretty neat device.
Great mini projector. I purchased this for a bedroom. I used with a mini ceiling mount. Pros:
– Small size
– Great sound – especially for the size
– Android built-in no need to plug in a fire tv stick or Roku
– Vivid colours good quality 480p picture – up to 100 inch – I use about 50inch
– Netflix, Amazon Prime, You tube, BBC Iplayer, ITV Hub all work great and very snappy
– Build quality is superb
– Bluetooth connectivity- a breeze to set up especially useful with both headphones and speaker
Cons:
– Does not come with a charger only the cable is included, plus it requires a charger with Qualcomm 2.0 / 3.0 fast charge otherwise charging only occurs when device is off. I used my apple charger and as I was watching, the battery still drained. However replenished overnight when switched off.
– Focus is fiddly and overly sensitive, a slight movement results in too big focus adjustment. It works – just tricky!
Excellent projector – portable – automatically has Netflix and Amazon Prime installed – connects to Sky Q – connects to a PS4 etc – worth buying a tripod to get the best viewing angle imo. Customer Service also brilliant team supporting! Cant speak highly enough of.
Works great with built in apps hoping HBO will be added. AirPlay extremely buggy.
I managed to get one of these when they first appeared on indiegogo earlier in the year. The projector arrived in good time and I was pleased to see that it came with the usual high spec Anker packaging, complete with decent quality Fast Charge 3 charger and cables.
The build quality is top notch, about the size and weight of a can of coke. To be fair I wasnt expecting much with the image spec being 480p and 100 lumins however its surprisingly good and useable. Id say the optimum image size is about 60″ from a distance of about 8 feet, however Ive filled a whole living room wall with it in a dark room and its still quite watchable.
This device though is intended to be used mobile. Its built in battery is good for about 3 hours projecting, and with its bluetooth and wifi capabilities I was able to tether it to my iPhone, and using Personal hotspot I was both streaming Youtube direct on the unit via its built in Android OS, or via Airplay on the phone via the iPhone app. It worked a treat.
My only gripe is that you cant log into Youtube on the actual built in version, so always best to just stream it from your phone.
The speaker is adequate but if you want some thump, just pair it with a more cabable bluetooth speaker and stick it below your projection for some better audio direction.
The picture quality is really good, and while its only 480p it will happly play back 1080P footage at full frame rate. you can plug in a USB memory stick via a built in USB port, and play back files locally or you can stream from a NAS, or YouTube as mentioned.
I really like my projector – Its great for use in holidays and hotels etc. I have even streamed my lap top through it.
Very well built and feels quality. Its tiny (The size of a soda can) so its not the brightest projector but a 5′ screen from a few yards away was great in a dark hotel room. The app store is a little limited but Netflix and Prime are the most common places to get movies and streaming and downloading from these is possible. If you want to add storage you will need a host cable so it means you cant charge at the same time. However for a 2 hour movie that isnt an issue. Its punchy on price – I bought it on indiegogo and it was great value but its a neat if somewhat niche gadget.
I was very disappointed with the capsule but after using this for almost 2 months I began to love this little masterpiece… not only me but both my kids love it to..they take it everywhere they go around the house in the garden everywhere they go.
Great image for what it is and the sound is great too…
HDMI slows u to plug anything like ur normal sky tv or cable tv..games console and mainly I use my switch on it and it made it a joy to play games on this…
This is a super little projector.
Supplied in the box with the projector is a bag, a remote control, Micro USB cable, lens cleaning cloth and an on the go (OTG) cable for connecting USB sticks etc.
It doesn’t come with a charger but can be powered by the one that come with your phone/tablet or a USB battery pack (so who needs another plug?).
It is literally the size of a drinks can and has a thread on the bottom to allow you to mount it to a tripod which opens a variety of options (unlike full size projectors where you need to find a suitable place to stand them).
The projector supports the ability to AirPlay and Cast from your devices which works fine other than for copyright content (so for presentations etc it is absolutely fine). It has a full size HDMI port so work arounds are to hook a Chromecast, Apple TV or HMDI adapter cable to your device.
The projector comes installed with a version of Android (it might not be the same as the one on your phone but a modified version such as on Amazon Fire devices etc) which allows you to install Netflix, BBC iPlayer, My5, Amazon Video etc and stream directly from the net. I installed the Amazon AppStore and various other APK installations to utilise any apps I wanted.
In the box is a basic remote control which works in a traditional selection mode and also as a mouse alternatively there is a free app available so you can use your smartphone/tablet which can also help with the need to type.
Picture quality is excellent and can be adapted for the way the device is tilted or mounted, it has a built in speaker which can be used independently through Bluetooth without the screen being on and likewise Bluetooth can be used to stream audio to other speakers you might want to use.
I predominately use mine for presentations, it fits in the case I use to carry my laptop and iPad around without any problems and means I don’t have to unload a massive amount of stuff when I get to training venues.
Absolutely love this little gadget! I received mine through the Indiegogo campaign and was not disappointed after the much anticipated parcel had arrived. Within an hour of unboxing, this little fella was fully charged and ready to go! Within minutes I’d downloaded Netflix and Amazon Prime Video apps and had linked up my accounts. For those capabilities alone I felt I’d got my money’s worth. However, there are also all of the possibilities that the HDMI connection allows. I’ve hooked up games and photos to this device very easily.
Best memory of this has to be a movie night using a bed sheet! I’m going on a trip with my siblings in a few weeks’ time and will be taking this along for entertainment. Turning a youth hostel dormitory into a screening room is an exciting prospect!!
The projector is brilliant, sound is as expected for the sound, Lacks base, but it’s expected considering the vibration could potentially cause image issues.
Got it from the Indiegogo campaign – produces an absolutely brilliant picture on a plain wall – The sound is good but it works even better with a Bluetooth soundbar if you like the audio to be coming from in front of you as I do (no audio sync issues) – Feels good and weighty and has a non-slip bottom so it won’t slide about despite being so compact.
