First of all the cons
– this only takes the vertuo pods so if you want to use the regular Nespresso pods that you can get from everywhere then you’re out of luck. Nestle has a patent for 10 years on these Vertuo pods so no other 3rd party can make the pods so you buy Nespresso Vertuo pods from Nespresso or you can’t use the machine
– this machine operates in the premise of a “coffee subscription” so you put in how much you drink, e.g. 2 cups a day and it works out how much you top up each month. For me personally it’s costing 25/month which equates to 50p / cup on average, depending on which pod you choose
Now the good;
– Makes a fantastic cup of coffee and is so easy to use. Open the flap at the top, insert a capsule and when the light is green, press it. Job done. Wonderful coffee
– the range of pods available from Nespresso is excellent so you can get long and tall glasses but I tend to get the pods that makes a “mug” (230ml). There are a while host of flavours and intensities that you can choose from so sometimes you’re really spoilt for choice
– the machine looks great (if you’re into that)
TLDR; you’ll need a coffee subscription to Nespresso and you can only use the Nespresso Vertuo pods. But if that’s what you’re after it makes a great cup of coffee.
Good quality product and makes fabulous coffee. It comes with a good selection of coffees and the machine looks good and is very easy to use and keep clean.
Perfect size for keeping in the bedroom for the first coffee of the day! Have larger machine downstairs but this one is perfect for that quiet start to the day!
Bought the Nespresso Vertuo plus and 100 free pods for my daughter who is at uni and spends most of her time in her flat. This was a gift for her Birthday and the 100 free pods would of been a nice start for her. Unfortunately you don’t get the pods. So if your persuaded because of the free pods then don’t bother. Machine itself she’s very happy with. Easy enough to use and clean.

Makes various different sizes of coffee, even a large mug if you buy the right pods. The coffee is pretty nice. Seems to have a feature of producing an excessive amount of foam which might not be to everyone’s taste, it’s not really cream just aerated foam from the centrifugal force the machine produces. Also don’t buy the pods off Amazon they are a rip off go to nespresso directly.

I would be absolutely lost without this machine. Easy to put together as it’s literally just the water holder and tray to attach. Best coffee machine Iv had, best present Iv bought myself. A cappuccino in the morning is just the perfect start!
I gave this to my daughter-in-law for Christmas. She loves the product and so does my son (who doesn’t drink coffee) because his wife no longer needs to spend money in Starbucks! I don’t drink coffee either but my d-in-l is a coffee connoisseur and says it makes the perfect cup of coffee.
I upgraded to this machine from an old Nespresso capsule machine. This big draw for me was the promise of bigger coffees which was a bug bear with the old system as you had to use a couple of capsules to get a large cup unless you only drank espresso. With this machine you can choose various sizes of drink which is great as it actually ends up being a bit cheaper than two capsules as well.
The quality of the coffee here is really good as the machine reads the coffee type and size and does the rest, even down to temperature which is really impressive. You also get a proper crema every time and with a big range on offer it’s really easy to get a good selection. Even the decaf blends I tried are very good.
I bought this as a black Friday offer with 100 free capsules which was a bit of a bargain but would recommend this to any coffee lover.
The first machine we had leaked after about a week – so “Doesn’t leak” is actually a feature!
These machines are on discount very frequently, so make sure you wait for the discounts, and for any other special offers like free pods.
This is our first Nespresso machine. It looks really good and easy to use. Great coffee every time and a good price on amazon.
