I have an earlier basic static Netvue camera that has worked flawlessly for many years. I use it to keep an eye on my dog when we are not at home. As the existing camera is static it is not always possible to find him in the room. This camera has a tilt and pan head so it’s much more suitable.
When the product arrived it is well packaged and comes with good installation instructions. As I was already a user of the Netvue app I was confident the installation would be a breeze. Unfortunately after a few failed attempts I realised the camera is only compatible with 2.4ghz WiFi, and not the 5ghz my phone was using. It does state this in the spec, but who reads those?
After switching the phone onto the 2.4ghz network the rest of the installation was straight forward and works brilliantly with the pan and tilt of the camera.
Picture quality is a 10 out of 10, but sound quality is only 6. For how I use it it is perfect.

Great 2way camera to keep an eye on the dog when you’re not at home. We have 2 of these, and 2 people can view at same time also highly recommended.

I now have 5 Netvue cameras and I absolutely love them. Both outdoor and indoor cameras are superb quality and such good prices.
The Orb is slightly larger than I expected compared with my other Netvue indoor cameras however, the sleek design means it looks more attractive and looks nice and neat.
The quality of the video is amazing and the night vision is perfectly clear. The video motion detection is great and can be changed in the app if necessary. Although this camera is currently watching our new hamster I like the fact that the camera can be controlled via the app and move to view the opposite side of the room. An ideal pet cam.
Installation was straight forward and the app is very easy to use.
The camera comes with free video motion detection recording for a trial period. The other good point is it is still really cheap after the free trial ends.

Affordable, great video quality, sleek design & easy to use

I bought this camera over 6 months ago and I can recommend it. Once memory card inserted and setup, working without any problems. Video quality great. Just in landscape mode view bar could be lower because you can see full picture.

I already have one of these cameras and been using it happily for long while. I got this one for another room mostly just for monitoring our kids playing as it’s easy to just pop on the iPhone/iPad a few rooms away and listen out as well as then look if it gets noisy.

Also the motion detection recordings are very handy to see if any of them are fibbing lol 😉 The other one I have is still also in good use and has been very useful for security and once been helpful in confirming the time of a local incident (from the motion detection recording).

It is great that the camera can rotate – the only extra feature that would be nice is if the camera could automatically ‘follow’ upon motion detection (although I understand this could be complex – what to follow if there are 2 or more moving things).

Once you have the NetVue App – it’s very easy to add a camera. It pairs it to your Netvue account so whichever device you are using – any cameras in the account are shown (handy if switching between phone / tablet or one on each).

Overall great product and for the price is a great indoor camera that can easily cover a well sized room OR through a window (with night vision switched off so the IR doesn’t reflect on the window at night) onto the street with a good wide angle.

in the past, i had a few home cameras to checking up my dog and for security as well.. but many times when i wanted to check while am abroad, i couldn’t because the connection was offline, and it was very stressful not been able to see from those cameras, ( thats why i had a few different ones), thank God that i come across with netvue orb cam ( i have 3 now in my premises) and am so relieved. it does more than you expecting from a indoor camera, the night vision is amazing, and the picture quality as well, especially the option that i could chose from the grid, which grids to get notified in case of a motion detection, instead of other cams that become annoying with their non stop motion notification that i used to received before … with this cam , you get free a such a piece of mind . thank you netvue for your existence

I got this to keep an eye on our pooch when we’re out. Great budget camera, very easy to setup. Image is crisp and clear. Sound is very good too, when using the voice function to chat through cam the sound came out very good on the cam speaker.

Great cam, perfect for watching the dog

This is my third Netvue camera I like the way all are available in the app on both Android and IOS. The picture is clear and the Pan and tilt are very useful. I use this on for my chicken coop to make sure my girls are safe and sound.
Great price for a quality camera. Better than others that are twice the price.

I ordered and used the camera so I could keep an eye on the house while we were on holiday.

The camera was very easy to set up, the instructions on the Netvue app are intuitive, and all I needed was my wi-fi name and password. There is a QR code on the side of the camera that helps the app find the correct camera model, and the app generates a QR code to show to the Netvue camera (I guess to send the wifi access details)

The only improvement I can think of would be for Netvue to add a LAN connection for hard wiring, that said I haven’t had an issue with the wi-fi connection being lost.

I received an alert on the app, when friends checked the app and it was great to be able to chat with them quickly through the camera.

All in, I’m really happy with my experience and would definitely recommend this product.

I’m just about to order a micro SD card for local 24h recording and I’m looking forward to trying the AI detection to see when the neighbours cat is visiting the garden.

Really easy to set up, great to be able to keep an eye on the house while we're away.

I have had Netvue Camera’s both inside and outside for a few years. I recently purchased another indoor Orb Cam. As usual, the packaging was of Netvue’s high standard but not over the top (Let’s help the planet). Everything you needed was in thee box, including easy setup and how to download the Netvue App. Installation in the App was flawless, you even get videos of “how to’s” — Within 5 minutes (maybe less) the Camera was on my network and I was able to view.

The Netvue app is easy to use, even the “go back in time” has many options to take you back to where you need to view. You can use local SD cards or cloud for playback. But even with the local SD card, the playback speed is fast, even away from home over mobile data !

Notifications are also excellent, they are quick to hit the phone (both iOS and Android which I have tested both). I feel safer away from home that I have these Camera’s … Well done Netvue (again!) 😉

I can honestly say, it ws a great purchase and definitely exceeded my expectaions beyond belief. Best descibed as amazing. I can now leave home with the addded confidence that I will be instantly alerted of any unwanted “guest”. Not only does it give a very clear video of events, I can also remotely pan the camera in any direction, theres even a voice control where I could notify any intuder to “smile your on camera”! A 5* camera with 5* suppport. Thank you NetVue!!

I bought 4 of these. It does the job. It does work only with 2gh so not compatible with the modern 5gh wifi. Thankfully mine is dual and allows me to select which bandwidth I want to connect my devices on.can confidently keep an eye on my children and all rooms in the house and instruct the nanny over the camera. Pans and tilts great except for one faulty one I received that doesn’t tilt or pan. Good night vision. Can be hung on the wall. Although you have to pay for the app, you do get more options like continuous recording which you could play back, motion detection alerts as well. I wish it wasn’t so big or so obvious as a camera as I have 2 canary cameras and they just blend in wth my tv devices and look like speakers

I bought two of these for internal security, in the event of a break in. It came with 1 month free cloud account which I used when we went on holiday. If you’re out of your house for long periods of time (going to work etc) it’s worth having the cloud account, so you can be notified real time of movement in your home.

With or without the cloud account, you can still log on and view your home via the app.

    What I like:
    – Great picture quality
    – Built in speakers and mic to communicate (scare a thief and hopefully limit what they steal)
    – Take a picture, so even if they unplug the camera, you’ve already taken a photo of them which is now stored on your phone.
    – Ability to move the camera removing the app
    – For motion detection, you can determine zones, so if you have a pet at home, they wont keep triggering an alert
    – with the cloud account, you can playback recordings, so when you get an alert, you can playback to see what happened

What I didn’t like / could be better
    – the motion detection is very sensitive, I kept getting alerts when I was on holiday… when I played it back, I found that if a big cloud covered the sun, the shadow was enough to trigger an alert!!
    – It only connects to 2.4ghz networks, lucky I have 2 networks and one of them has this otherwise connecting would have been a problem.

Overall, I’d recommend them for the added peace of mind and security

I bought this to monitor my dog and bar ONE thing its ace.

Everything is great and works fine besides the camera not having the ability to pan downwards.

I find this to be a huge design flaw. If you were to be able to pan down you could put this on a flat surface and wouldn’t have to screw it to a wall. But as you cannot pan down you cannot view things below the field of vision, and so you have to either stick it on the floor, or screw it to the wall. Poor design choice and inconvenient.

Besides that i am happy with it, but if i knew this before hand i would have bought a different camera.

It’s a bit of a faff to set up. But please excuse me I’m a techno idiot. Once I had it set up thought it was excellent. Primarily using it for keeping watch on new pup – not after high spec pix, but think both day/ night vision quality excellent. Great for watching dogs while we nipped down pub for an hour.

The pros: Good camera, decent quality pictures, good night vision (better in dark than low light I think), was easy to set up. The app is easy to use, too.
The cons: The app tends to crash; though at least it comes back immediately. Not sure if the slow motion effect is because of the app, the camera, or the device I’m watching on.
Overall, recommended; especially considering that any issues are mostly because of the app, that will get updated, rather than the camera itself.

I ordered two of these cameras as I wanted one for each of my children’s rooms. I previously had a BT baby monitor which was good but cost 125 and it only had one camera and I didn’t want to pay the cost again and have two parent units to see the rooms. This little camera has far surpassed my expectations, the quality is fantastic the night vision is much clearer than my previous monitor – the set up was really easy and the fact I can see both cameras on one app means I can look at each room and also if we are out and have babysitters I can check on them to make sure they are asleep at any time. I would highly recommend using these over a conventional baby monitor.

Overall a good study camera with a bracket for mounting if needed. Very little delay from motion detection to alert. Only negative is that if you don’t mount it your line of sight is limited as while the camera pan is excellent it won’t move down if sitting on a table.

Over very good for the price

    Well worth i

Golden Review Award: 43 From Our UsersWe’ve been using this camera for approx. 6 months now, so I feel this review is fair.
This review is based on using this camera as a baby monitor.

    Pros.
Excellent HD picture quality – predominantly used in ‘night vison’ mode
Fantastic range on pan and tilt and remotely assessible.
Brilliant zoom feature – we could see out babies chest rise and fall as she was sleeping
Remotely accessible, while we weren’t using as a security camera – it is accessible on your phone as long as you have wifi/4g.
Two way speak – though that one really does freak your baby out !
Incredibly easy to set up – the camera scans a QR code generated by the app on your phone and its connected.
Reconnects to wifi very easily too – we disconnected when not in use and it automatically reconnected to the wifi everytime.

    Cons
It drops out an awful lot if trying to view a continuous stream – we had to turn off wifi on the phone to be able to connect to the video stream quite regularly.
There is a delay – depending on the device you’re viewing – on the phone maybe only 5-10 seconds.
It is ‘technically’ compatible with echo devices. We bought a fire tablet to use as a video display – it is not compatible (it is also not compatible on any tablet – the netvue app is not available on playstore while on a tablet). We bought an echo show to use instead – technically it does work, but you are using a ‘skill’ rather than the Netvue app – and in such the delay can be anything from 1 minute to 10 – and that’s if the stream successfully loads – we found it to ‘buffer’ or ‘waiting for netvue’ far more often than actually seeing the stream.

Edit – Now a dog monitor
Overall – is it a cracking piece of kit for the price.
We are now using for the dog instead of a night monitor for the baby. And for that purpose it is absolutely ideal. Logging on every now and then while you’re out, just to make sure they’re ok. And the two way speak helps calm them down/ tell them off when they’re misbehaving.

I wouldn’t recommend as any kind of monitor requiring a constant video stream.
Would definitely recommend as a security / dog camera – requiring video stream as and when.

Edit 2.0 So the power connection has slackened and consequently will not stay in place without ‘strategical positioning’. Ontop of this, it now no longer connects to our router. We have had sky fibre installed which operated on 5ghz frequency, where as this is only available on 2.4 so worth baring in mind. I believe there is a way for you to amended your router to allow this connect, but not being techy enough and with the now faulty power connection. We’re buying a different brand as unfortunately Netvue have no camera available on a different frequency.

Bought this little nifty indoor camera to keep an eye on my two dogs whilst out of the house.

Firstly, the picture quality in HD is brilliant for the price. It beats some other models that range from 150 upwards so this camera is a steal.

The only downside and why I gave only 4 stars is due to the power cable not staying securely in.

The camera keeps going off on off on if you don’t place the cable in a certain way.

I haven’t tried another cable yet so hopefully I just got a dodgy one and yours is fine.

All in all – it’s just a – nother bargain for all!

I use mine inside a window looking out and for my needs it’s perfect.. I have had to format the memory card a couple of times as occasionally it hadn’t allowed me to view some playbacks but there is the netvue cloud solution. Having the ability to control and move the camera around remotely is a nice touch.

I was looking for an indoor security camera for my home and stumbled across Netvue on Amazon. I’m glad I did! I was a little sceptical at first as the camera claimed to have some pretty good features but was relatively cheap. I needn’t have worried! The camera arrived well packaged and was easy to set up out of the box. (Just make sure you select 2.4ghz on your router – most modern routers will let you split between 2.4ghz and 5ghz anyway)
The camera is well made and looks premium. It works perfectly as does the app. No issues at all for me. I’ve also recently bought a micro sd card to put in to the camera so now it records video footage as well as saving motion detection photos. You can select the precise date and time to review a particular bit of footage with ease within the app and then save the footage or photos straight to your phone. Image quality is very good and the night vision seems to work well in a medium sized room. The microphone is relatively clear and the speaker is very loud and can be adjusted. All in all I would definitely recommend the Netvue Orb Security Camera. In fact I’m considering purchasing another one myself! 8/10

This is a great indoor camera with easy access via the app. My only criticism is that as the room gets dark the camera flicks between day and night vision and continually clicks. This also happens if the room is dark but the TV is on.

I bought this camera to keep an eye on my cat who sleeps in the shed at the bottom of my garden. It works great and no problems with the signal which is about 40 yards from my router. Bought for additional security, installed in corner of hallway, high up with power from loft (very small hole needed in plasterboard), very easy to set up, and can rotate image so can install “upside down” to hide wires closer to roof. With the Netvue app can immediately use. Talk through it, rotate and move around remotely, set up through motion control and messages photos when movement detected. Never had an issue, so easy to operate, exceptional imagery even in total darkness due to infra red. Does exactly what designed for and left review for 6 months to ensure fully meets requirement; you will not be disappointed. In general setup turn off sounds following power cut so doesnt wake you up when power variations due to storms etc. Always reconnects to router no problem. Simple review – BUY IT; YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.

The picture quality is good and the app works good, the only flaw I have is the camera does not pan downwards, so unless you use the mounting bracket (supplied) you cant use the camera to look at the ground without something underneath to tilt.

  42. SeanFbeafdxntj says:

I wasn’t sure what to expect from such a modestly-priced device but I’m hugely impressed. Image quality is excellent both during the day and at night, with the latter offering pretty much perfect clarity – something I was concerned about but needn’t have been.

Set-up is extremely straightforward, although it’s well worth reading the instructions first. I didn’t, so was initially unaware, for example, that the SD card needs to be formatted by the camera before it can be mounted. Got a bit frustrated there until I realized where I was going wrong. Wifi connection is a breeze, aided by step-by-step on-screen instructions from the app. Speaking of which, I use the Android version, and it’s great. It doesn’t have the best rating for some reason, but it enables you to do everything that you need to: checking live feed from the camera, panning/tilting the view, activating the speaker etc. I have yet to encounter any issues with it.

Other things I’m pleased about: the app and the device firmware are both being continually developed, so are inevitably going to improve. There’s an online forum, so you can head over there to get questions answered (or offer advice if you’ve got any). Finally, there’s a range of subscription plans available for cloud storage, beginning at only $19.99 per year (which is way less than a decent quality and/or high capacity memory card will cost you).

The one niggle I can think of is that, although the camera can pan left, right and up, it can’t pan down. This might be an issue for monitoring pets on the ground unless you’ve got a low location to place or mount it. Other than that, I’m thrilled with it. Excellent value for money and top quality results. I have no problem recommending it from among the sea of similar devices.

Looking for a product for my baby’s nursery and through the minefield of security cams, came upon Netvue.
Straight of the box, this feels like a quality product, it’s modern robust and a little weight to it.
It’s stylish and went for the white option so it blends into environments.
Mini SD card is supported on each cam (at least for this model. It would have been good to have a mount that was rigid than the plastic provided.

Getting the camera up and running is a little tricky. USB plug is fine however the cord supplied wasn’t really that long so I had a spare one and ran that instead. Good infra-Red and colour pictures in HD and night vision is surprisingly clear. Motion & Human Detection is spot on as you can select separate zones and highlight the intensity of the sensor.
Full control of the camera in 180-degree mode up and down is spot on.
Messing around with QR Codes on the back of the cam and ID numbers – but once this is done you shouldn’t need to do this again for installation.
Download the App and push notifications are sent directly (Keeping an eye on the little one is paramount) – also the sound feature for talkback is welcomed and choice of Standard Definition and HD mode is a plus.
Cloud storage and other features on the app explore additional preferences.

Pros: High-quality camera, features and scale for newbies to the security eco-system.
Cons; doesn’t support dual-band signal so runs on 2.4ghz which I guess is standard at the moment and probably reflects the price.
Synced to Alexa – for the Echo Show but has buffering issues – but we use our phones to get around this.
The click of the shutter on the camera every time there is a motion that needs to be sorted..
    Longer USB Wired
    Sturdier mount
No PC support to view streams online…sort that out ….

Using as a deterrent, placed indoors facing outside which can be easily seen through back garden window, esp at night when night-vision red leds are on. So cheap am really just using as an ‘active’ fake camera, as not interested in any online or memory card recording. Like any CCTV camera placed indoors and viewing outside through a window, works well during day time, but at night glass can turn into a mirror and if placed closd to glass night vision LEDs will reflect back from the glass/window making vision useless. Good build quality and set up easy.

You can see the red lights on the camera when in night vision so not very discrete but it’s not a spy camera after all!

    *Update*
I’ve now put a memory card in and the quality of the picture is great! The sound is perfect and I can even talk to the pets while I’m out of the house!
It detects my cats (and people) walking in and out of the room well – during the day and during the night.

For the price this is an outstanding little unit. Set up is easy. Picture quality night and (especially) day is fantastic. Remote adjustment…. (as in from my place of work) is still doable and precise. Audio too, both ways, is excellent quality. I can hear my dog bark and speak to the wife from my workplace.. The motion sensor function is excellent.. Sensitivity can be adjusted and alerts are almost instant with excellent quality stills of the cause. Mine has captured birds passing the window. I have 2 of these units as a temp until I can get a full system. They cover my back garden, 1 from upstairs, more than adequately.
    Highly recommended..

I like this camera. Its very good quality. It was very easy to set up. I like that it catch the movement and it actually turn and continue to catch the movement. I didnt try the night vision as I have just received it. I already receiving the notification as there is movement and I can see live video as well. I can move the came to the subject by arrows in the app. I can talk as well and I can hear everything from that room clearly. I input SD card inside so I can save recordings.
I am already thinking more cameras and one outside to protect my house and family.

A very neat unit with excellent build quality. It took only a few minutes to set up with my BT WholeHome. The app allows you to control the camera and stream live video. I couldn’t try out the motion detection as this appears to require a monthly paid subscription which I don’t have.

I ideally wanted an external camera. But for location reasons and not wanting to install cabling outside I decided on an internal version.
I initially purchased a different camera but it was extremely unuser-friendly and I returned it.
Then along came this one. At the price I was willing to accept some short comings, but in the end didn’t need to.
It’s a good substantial item. The instructions on paper are minimal, but what there is felt as though it was written by an English speaking person. Unlike my previous purchase.
Further written instructions weren’t needed as the installation is simple and the available facilities are easily found on the app.
I didn’t want to fix the camera to the wall until I was sure of the best location. So I used the supplied bracket and fixed it to a neat piece of wood which gave it a secure base. Although left alone it is perfectly ok left standing on its own.
I bought it to keep a check on my external house frontage.
I was aware in advance that it will not operate through glass due to the infrared capabilities.
However the daylight hours are perfect and fully take care of a good wide angle. At night it’s not so good due to reflections. I fully accept this and further manipulation may improve it further.
I have inserted a 64gb disc and I calculate it will take around 6 days before recycling. Perfectly adequate to go back over any suspicious views !!
My only issue is when going back to an estimated time there is no fast forward/backwards.,You have to keep guessing until you find it or leave running until you find it at normal speed.
A small price to pay (literally). After all I hope never to go back, because in my case there has been a problem outside.
I have paid this very small amount for a sense of security, just in case.
For the price it’s a no brainer.
    EDIT..
The following is based on the price and the fact that I am using it inside to monitor outside. I thought an update would be useful.

The quality of the recordings from inside is very good during the day. The night-time recording less so. But this is not surprising and is not a complaint, especially considering the price.
With my purchase they inserted a card offering free cloud recordings. I investigated this and assumed it only recorded static shots not the continuous recording. As I had a card installed I can’t see the point. I contacted them to clarify and they have not responded. Therefore I am left with my conclusions right or wrong. Additionally they take credit card details for payment in following years.
So it’s a no from me.
Additionally I have problems connecting it to Alexa, apparently it is an issue. Although I’m personally not very bothered.
So basically, for the price it’s still good value.
If you use it for internal recording and add a card it’s even better value.

I have bought just bought my second camera, for the price they are excellent value. The cameras are easily set up and connected to WiFi. When monitoring in real time you can zoom in (using touch screen) and scan left, right, up and down. Sound is good, you can talk both ways via them, not perfect, but this isn’t their main use and is just one function of several. You receive notifications of movement on the app and I get these on my phone, iPad and Apple Watch. You can link by Bluetooth to most devices (I can only speak for mine and a Samsung phone), and even listen/talk through your car radio. Notifications can be recorded and rewatched, I have bought an SD card to record. I use the camera to check on my dogs. The camera also captures with night vision which I haven’t needed to use, but movements are detected. You can alter the level of motion detection and mute the sound when watching in real time. Since I bought my first camera two months ago I have not had any issues with it. I definitely recommend these cameras if you are looking for inexpensive monitoring options.

I use this Orbcam as a baby cam for now. In the picture you can see it next to the Home cam for comparison. I chose this as have had such good experience with the home cam features and can keep one app to use from phone or tablet. The night vision appears brighter, the only thing is there are red lights on night vision that stay on. On the home cam I could turn these off. I haven’t tested the motion sense notifications yet, but the home cam was very good. With an sd card you have the option to record and playback video. The picture quality is very good and at a wide angle that you can zoom in too. The main benefit of this one being you can move the camera from app and if hanging upside down you can invert the picture and controls too. The downside to this is that you almost have to hang it as it cannot look down when upright, I suppose you could attach it and tilt it slighty with the wall bracket. It does also have a tap to speak function.

Good baby cam that controllable, with good picture/sound quality.

This product was really straightforward to set up, can be controlled really easily from the app, and offers a good quality image. I have it set up with motion detection, which was easy to do, with good options to choose when it is active, what areas trigger an activation and so on. Again, all easy to control and adjust from the app.

Control of the camera movement is really good – a wide range of movement, and the camera comes with everything needed to wall or ceiling mount as well.

Ideal product – we will be getting more.

For the price this camera is really good value! I am very pleased with the product so far. Set up took a while but now it’s all up and running easy to use. On delivery the product was rattling (like something was loose inside) so I thought it might be broken but seems to be working fine which will hopefully last but we shall see if not for that would be 4 stars.

This is the second orb we now have.
We needed a simple solution to provide occasional remote help to an elderly relative.
We knew the quality of the picture is very good and easy to set up so it was an obvious choice to get another.
Using the mounting kit provided we have fixed to the wall in kitchen so can see appliance controls and they can hold up cooking instructions for us to read and explain using the built in intercom speaker.
We’ve left the light on the unit so they know when it is active.
For emergencies, the intercom option will be useful should they have a fall and are unable to answer their phone too.
NB – not rated the motion detection as not using this feature. But it works fine on our other external Netvue camera

I bought this product originally because I couldn’t hear people at the front door so I kept missing deliveries and I’m not allowed to install a proper outside camera, its definitely done its job so far. The the motion detection pings me when someone gets near the front of the house so I’ve seen some interesting things and spotted the amazon delivery man before he’s knocked.
The night vision doesnt work too well because the IR Ray’s glare off the window, but it still works well with the rest of the room.
The quality is great, very clear pictures.

Great product with clear pictures and playback available if you install the SD cards (sold separately) I am usin These to keep an eye on my elderly parents, with their permission, who both have dementia. The camera also has the ability to speak directly to my parents which is very helpful if they are confused or looking for something they have misplaced. There is no monthly subscription unless you want to use cloud space. You can also add other users to the app which enables my brother to also check in weekly.
***Warning*** please remember that elderly parents with dementia can occasionally forget the cameras are there and so you may risk seeing them walking around the house in their birthday sui

Purchased because WEMO decided to discontinue support for their cameras. I had three of those. (Their loss!)

The Netvue Orb is a lovely piece of equipment. Straight out of the box you notice the quality of manufacture and
the simplicity of design. It is subtle and fits in anywhere without drawing attention, particularly in Black which I chose for my first one.
Setup is particularly easy, as long as you remember to plug in close to your router! (I didn’t).
Start by downloading the app, sign up / in and then plug in the orb, switch on. Couldn’t be easier. (Note for dual frequency routers – you need to use 2.4 GHz for this item.) You’ll also need your router password – we all remember that, don’t we?.
The setup menu is blissfully short, and tuneful, and you’re set in no time at all.

The app works well, the range of vision is impressive, and while the sound quality on mine is indifferent that’s probably because of my connection speed more than anything else. Not yet tried – video recording, I need to get a Micro SD card for that.

Netvue have a web app but it’s not fully operational, you can sign up to various schemes for cloud services. That will be useful in due course for greater security.

I will definitely purchase another one or two.

Haven’t tried the night vision yet, the camera quality seems decent though. The only annoying thing it that it doesnt tilt down unless you nail it to a wall and have it pointed at an angle. If you simply sit in on a table it wont point into a crib, or in my case my guinea pig enclosure to watch them more closely. I had to lie the camera on its side which means I can’t use the camera movement feature which doesnt bother me too much.
What I like about this over other cameras is that the app is easy to use and you can share it with someone else providing they create a free login and give you their email address.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this camera is fantastic, especially for the price and deserved a review!
I live in a cul de sac with designated parking spaces and was a little apprehensive leaving my car in the street. I purchased the camera so I had reassurance through the night due to an increase in disturbances in the local area. I read some reviews explaining the reflection of the infrared – yes this was an issue, however I turned off night mode and the street lighting is enough to give a decent image. I can move the camera around using my iPhone, not only can you tilt it and pan direction using the dials, but if I Move my phone from side to side it expands the image. It is well worth the money, it was extremely easy to set up and portable so you can change the location or room. Definitely recommend. I’ve given it 4 stars due to the night vision through the glass but this can’t be helped as you could purchase one for 200 and still have this issue.

We were humming and awing about purchasing a camera but after we caught our neighbour cutting down our plants outside our front door, we decided to take the plunge. We figured it was better to have her antics on camera next time, so there’s evidence if we need to take further actions. But we were literally standing on the other side of the window as she was doing it! But so happy we bought it as it’s proving useful for deliveries as well to see who’s at the door before answering. The night vision doesn’t work through the glass, but will likely purchase an outdoor camera from the same company so they work in same app. Just regret not getting one sooner!

    Very Useful!

We have a few of these cameras located in our aged Mum’s house strategically placed in hallways and looking out into the garden to monitor her movements in case she falls while protecting her privacy elsewhere The motion detectors have saved her life on more than one occasion when they alerted us on our Mobiles and Tablets and we viewed accidents on the stairs and have recordings of them. They have been reliable and versatile for over a year now. Works well with Alexa. We have purchased the 360 Orb cam to monitor our mischievous cats movements and it is a great asset. The only drawback is that while sound can be muted the video cannot be turned off which would be beneficial at times but presume that for security reasons it maybe not such a good idea. These are well made robust units, simple to install and set up with good recording facilities.

I am not techie nor use a lot of apps. The camera has many nice features and I am slowly mastering its use. I do have difficulty with syncing to my phone in the morning and again when I return to my Wi-Fi from data plan. Up to 10 minutes for it to find each other. Other issue is the sound of my voice through the camera which is garbled. My intended use is as an indoor security camera when we travel. It works well for that purpose and seems to be a good value for the price. I wish there were computer apps for this device.

As a security camera, the quality is very good, and the pan & tilt feature is great – although it could be smoother. Setup was very easy, and the App is very easy to use. Would also be great to turn off the night vision on the camera, to allow you to place it inside a window.

For the price, I would highly recommend this as a security camera.

I like the help desk and the picture clarity. I needed it to monitor the activity in my small shop for security day and night. I could have opted for the sd card but couldn’t be bothered with hassle so opted for their cloud service. Its mains only which is fine but i guess if it had been charged up it would have been slightly more flexible. The extra arm for wall mounting was also good. Overall great value for what I need. Only negative was on a chat I thought it was $20 a year for monitoring but that was activity only offer, so had to accept other option for ongoing monitoring.

Camera is high quality and works as advertised during the day and night, successfully identifying the cat it was bought to monitor. There is a free motion capture trial, but I am concerned that all motion capture functionality will cease without a subscription; detection and recording. I only need detection so we shall see. This reduces the value for money as it will cost $20 a year to maintain the on the box functions.

Used it for two weeks so far, incl a week away. The camera gives a good image in both normal and IR modes and works well as designed. However, I would have thought a rechargeable battery would have been an essential for a security camera, to prevent intruders easily disabling it, also it is quite annoying to receive motion alerts, when the camera is being remotely rotated.

I decided over last Christmas after some tampering with cars in my street that it was trime to get hold of a Camera or two.
The first one I picked works but ties you to the app and even though it states “works with Alexa Show” it wont. My next step was to look for a better unit and thats when I saw the NetVue orb camera.
Now the other one was 3.00 cheaper but the build quality of the NetVue is 1000 times better, instantly connected to Wi-Fi with the app and actualy works with Alexa Show 5, it took about 5 min to set up, comes with a 10′ cable and power supply, has great sound quality and the picture quality is clear and sharp.
This is my first Netvue but it wont be my last, next is a couple of outdoor units and then the same for my daughter who lives close -by.
Have set it up on my I-Pad, I-Phone, PC and Alexa Show 5 all work great.

I bought this to keep an eye on my cats while on holiday (and general security / peace-of-mind). Functions well. Easy to set-up and gave good notifications when there was “activity” in my house (cats and the friends I got to feed them). I’ve since bought a second as a nanny-cam to keep an eye on an elderly relative. It’s really nice looking. Place it on a shelf next to some ornaments and it doesn’t look out of place. The app works reasonably well (albeit it, a bit clunky interface) and image quality was decent.

The ONLY criticism is that lack of down-tilt! It will NOT look down (past horizontal). So, if you want to put it somewhere high up (ie. top shelves overlooking a room), you will need to use the bracket and manually point it downwards at an angle.

    4 starts because:
    1. security info are a little thin on the ground
    2. tilting/panning is not smooth and partially controllable (i.e. fixed positions only)

Update: testing positively completed. If I could assign a 4.5 stars now I would do it.

Can control movement of the camera via the app, personally would have liked to pan down a little further but camera comes with fittings to hang upside down and then view can be flipped 180 degree in the app. Works perfectly with amazon echo show once set up. Quality of picture is perfect, the night vision is fantastic and the motion detection works better than imagined with notifications sent to your phone. Great bit of kit, especially for the small price!

I bought this camera as a form of internal security for home. I have a separate CCTV system for external security. This camera needs the Netvue subscription to enjoy some features, also there is room for improvement on the mobile phone app. Setting it up was a breeze.
    Some points;
    1. You need a subscription to receive motion detection videos. Without subscription you will only get 3 frame grabs.
    2. You cannot control the length of the video that you receive or number of pictures that you get. (note that you can still see the video recording on playback)
    3. It does not track a moving object (unlike some others)
    4. It would be useful to have an app that runs off a laptop
    5. A 16GB SD card will give you approximately 46hours of recording

In conclusion, the Netvue Orb Cam is great for keeping track of what goes on at home.

Got this as a replacement for a Foscam, 1/3 price, looks more elegant for a camera, much easier setup, was fully functional in about 15 minutes, most of this time reading the instructions on how to seup.
Make sure your router is in 2.4g mode, my router has a setting in the router app for this.
I like the way the timers can be setup to sleep on a pre set schedule, this will be useful when the cleaner is in while i’m away. Turning it off is a simple slider switch in the app and switching off does not delete the schedule.
This one is set on my front door, the motion detection area has allowed me to deselect the window in the door, so postman wont set it off.

The OrbCams fit in beautifully to their surroundings, are pleasing to the eye and record just what you need whether this is continual or just when something happens. I am currently using 128GB storage cards with each device however their is a cloud service given free for 14days. The only downside is that the cloud service offered is per camera and not per account and there are currently no bundle options which does make it quite pricy depending upon the number of cameras.

Works as expected, saving to an SD card so far and not had a problem with that. Live preview is not at all reliable, it will stream for a couple of seconds and then freeze – camera is by router and has perfect wifi signal, I suspect the bandwidth is too high for a 1080p stream. The android software is ok, nothing special and could do with some work on the UI.

Will try the cloud subscription when I have the time.

The camera is easy to set-up. I downloaded the app on my iPhone and connected my iPhone to wifi. On the bottom of the camera there is a wifi setup button. There was no need to consult the manual of the camera or the wifi router. The app only asks you to scan the QR code label on the camera and confirm that the camera is in wifi set-up mode. The settings to connect the camera to to the wifi router and the app on the phone are detected by the app automatically. This is one of the few gadgets that exceeded my expectations in terms of adding the gadget to the network without fiddling with firewall or network settings manually. The camera worked was fully set-up and accessible via the app in less than 15 minutes. No need to call tech support or go through manual settings. The camera provides perfectly good video and sound quality for my requirements and it is possible to add 24/7 cloud recording services ($6.99/month). This might be very useful to keep track on deliveries or check up on your pets or plants while you are on holiday. You can use the audio function to get in touch with your pet-sitter or neighbour and maybe ask them about their favourite item from the duty free shop so that you can get them a little gift to show yourt appreciation for looking after your cat/dog and the house while you are on holiday.

I bought the netvue Orb camera just before a holiday and used it in the house at a place and angle where I could rotate and tilt it almost any direction with all the views I wanted.
The motion alerts and notifications work smoothly. You can get them either with an image of the moment captured or if you subscribe, you get the video clip recorded and stored. I have used the free subscription that came with the camera to try it (you get once per new camera). That worked great and was useful as we left keys for our painter so we could see the progress and make sure all safe.
I must say I’m impressed as I’m working with enterprise cctv cameras and NVR systems and this little orb camera is very easy to use and does not lack of any good feature you will find at more expensive cameras. The picture quality is great both day and night with the strong infrared led.

Some other things I tried or used it for so far and can say that work nicely,
    – Show camera on FireTV
    – In the evening it becomes baby/child monitor. Works great to talk back as it’s two direction talking via the App. Or just for intercom at any time.

A tip for anyone who wants to mount it, use in the app the “Device Wi-Fi Analysis” to make sure you get good WiFi signal at the location you choose. It’s quite handy to find it from the app and move the camera if required before let’s say deciding to mount it permanently with the optional mount that is included in the box.

I have 2 netvue cameras and am about to buy a third. They are really good, very clear image and the motion detection is great as you can select particular areas to ‘ignore’ and change sensitivity too. The night vision is great, very clear and effective immediately when the lights turn off. There’s also a facility to talk through the camera, e.g I’ve been alerted at 6am by my son setting off the motion detector in the kitchen, I could say ‘get back to bed!!’ through the camera 😀

Finally, I really like the playback feature, and use a micro SD card to store the last week or so, then can flick through anything I want to review.

This is my latest purchase , having already purchased 5 other cams from the same company . My whole house is now covered for less than 200 ( due to buying some of them in the sale ) . I can now access my cams from anywhere in the world and can keep an eye on things , including pets when I am not around . Invest in decent Micro SD cards that can be inserted into the devices and record the footage 24/7 . The bigger the card , the more it records before re recording on top when it runs out of space . No subscription needed unless you decide to have everything sent to the netvue cloud . You still get notifications when the cam is triggered by the motion sensor and you can then play the recorded footage back to see what has triggered it . The orb is bigger then the usual indoor cam but has the added bonus of being able to move it up and down and sideways from anywhere in the world , which is ideal when trying to locate where your pets are in the room if they happen to be camera shy ! . I cannot recommend this device enough .

Having tried a few cameras to keep an eye on pets whilst out and about, this one fit the bill with the added bonus of being compatible with Amazon Alexa, the view is clear and appearance pleasing. It is quiet when rotating and maintains its connection. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is:
A Because you don’t seem to be able to turn the sound off by default when watching live view so can hear it rotating
B To get the full view down to the floor when mounted on a shelf I had to screw it upside down which wasn’t the case with previous similar cameras

The camera works beautifully, extremely good colour picture with lots of detail, very sensitive to motion and was notified on Alexa dot of any movement which is very useful. I had no trouble setting this up and I’m in my seventies. The only improvement I would make would be a switch to turn off the night lights to stop window glare when using through a window at night.
Update there is a facility in the app to switch light from auto to all day, which is excellent. I have also linked camera to my echo dots, Alexa informs me If there is motion in my garden. An absolutely brilliant camera

I purchased this 1080p Netvue Orb Camera specifically to monitor my dogs as they have now moved to a new area in the house to sleep.
There are similar cameras available, but I specifically wanted the 1080p quality, pan and tilt, and the integration with “Alexa”.
I have used the camera for around a week now, and am not disappointed! The range of features is great; motion detection recording and alerts, night vision, wide angle lens and 2 way audio, all perfect for my needs.
The pan and tilt is amazing and, with its supplied mounting bracket, allows you to position the camera almost anywhere.
Picture quality is excellent, and a simple “Alexa show me the kitchen” (mine is called “kitchen” in my Amazon Echo setup) shows a clear image, even at night, on my Echo Show and Spot.
Very easy to install and setup, and simple to add to the Alexa app through the “Skills” if you require.
Will certainly be looking at other Netvue products in their range now that I know of their quality.

I bought this security camera to keep an eye on our cats while we are away from home.

The camera came in good quality packaging, reminiscent of the unboxing experience from Apple or Amazon products.

After figuring out where I wanted to put the camera, based on where it could see the majority of the room and where there was a power supply close enough, the set-up was a breeze. After downloading the companion app, connecting the camera to my wifi was as simple as following the instructions in the app. One thing to note, the green flashing light that you need to see before you can connect to the wifi takes about a minute to show up after plugging in the power.

The camera works well with the app, both at home, via an external wifi network or via mobile. You can use it intuitively in portrait or landscape mode. You have the option to subscribe to cloud backups of your camera streaming and motion capturing, as well as being able to set up a pause-mode to turn the camera off when you are at home and don’t want the camera recording or streaming your daily activity.

The camera comes with the power supply, which has a micro-usb cable. You can plug the camera into another handy piece of equipment with a USB socket for power if you want, which is a handy bonus if you want to use the supplied bracket to mount the camera on the ceiling. The software allows you to flip the picture so that you can mount the camera up-side-down for a better range of angles you can use.

    Overall, the camera is;
    10/10 for build quality
10/10 for app ease of use
    10/10 for app abilities
8/10 for Alexa show / spot integration. Only missing thing is touch screen panning of camera.
10/10 for picture quality and night visio

Excellent quality, very good app with simple installation and setup. Now have 3 of these cameras on the app which is well designed, user friendly and reliable. Human motion detection setting stops cars and trees triggering alerts, night vision is clear and switches automatically. Cloud storage service is a great idea, no point filming a thief if they steal the camera but cloud storage means you still have the footage if camera is stolen. My camera already caught a scumbag thief. Also we use the camera to keep watch on my dad who has Alzheimer’s, saved our lives when he nearly set fire to the house but we saw on camera and prevented disaster.
Overall these are the best of the many brands available that I have tried. Other brands have had complex installation and app binding process and poor quality apps that are not well designed. Netvue has been an excellent customer focused company to deal with and are constantly looking at how to improve the cameras (human detectionode is latest upgrade) and they update your existing camera no need to replace for new features.

I purchased this to check on my dogs when I am out and I am delighted with the standard of video – it’s wonderful to be able to view my dogs in real time. Netvue have obviously put a huge amount of thought in to how new users get the cameras set up in the simplest way. However I had no idea what my home wifi bandwidth was and – being lazy – just jumped in and hoped for the best; no suprise that I initially encountered a connection problem. The in app instructions reminded me to check that my wifi bandwidth was 2.4GHz rather than 5GHz . I didn’t have a clue so I put in a quick call to Sky who immediately split my home wifi so that I had the option to select 2.4 or 5 from my iphone. Hey presto – the camera connected on 2.4 and thereafter I went back to using the standard 5GHz with no further problems. Very very pleased. Having a doggy cam has given me great peace of mind and don’t know why I didn’t do it earlier! shared the feed with my husband who downloaded the app too and we can now both watch them from wherever we are. Brilliant!

I am very impressed with the build quality and overall performance. The SD card installation is very easy and setting up on the App is simple. It comes with a wall mounting kit if required and again, this is of good quality.
The picture quality both day and night is very good and as claimed. Also the two way communication is very good and clear.
Adjusting the camera is responsive and again easy to do via the App. You can see what’s happening anywhere in the world, subject to network connection needless to say. You can also share with others if you wish by registering them.
I also have three of the outside cameras which are excellent also and all easily interface with Alexa. They work brilliantly on my Echo Show 2nd Gen.
Would recommend and would buy again…
