You can simplify the controls without making the game super easy or too difficult because you don’t know all the tricks. Couch co-op too.
It’s like a Mega Drive sports game with current gen graphics.
If you don’t care for current rosters and just want so fast old skool Ice Hockey, this is for you. Go to the options, tweak the setting of speed; Hit power; Shot power etc and put it the arcade controls…….its awesome fun.
Looks amazing when compared to 2017 game. The physics is so different too. Poke-checks seem a bit OP and same tricks from 2017 don’t work here.
You can pretty much only score a one-time or an odd man rush one in one with goalie. Anything else requires crazy amount if momentum.
Takes a bit of getting used to, but it is pretty fu
Brilliant game, the graphics are great and in both Season and Playoff Mode, you have a calendar which informs you when your next game is, who it’s against and where. The calendar coincides with the actual real life season which is a great touch.
I first got into ice hockey when I lived in Canada and I’ve recently got back into it over here but even if you’re not a fan, this is a really fun game. It’s very lifelike, the interactions between the players is realistic and it is really fast paced; just like the real thing. You can even have a fight on the ice which is another awesome touch.
Unfortunately there are two negative points that should be mentioned: the goal songs are inaccurate and after the update, neither of my two favourite teams even have one now (Canucks and Maple Leafs). Secondly, there isn’t a dedicated training mode. This could prove tricky if you haven’t played one of the recent installments however luckily this wasn’t the case for me as I still have NHL 21 which does have a training mode if I’m feeling a bit rusty.
Finally, and this isn’t a fault with the game, but this wasn’t available in any local stores. Normally I purchase my PS5 games from my local toy store or Argos but in this case I could only purchase it from Amazon.

Order arrived on time, great game, fantastic graphics, very playable, hockey games can feel very difficult and inaccurate but this is very good
Highly recommended. Took the NHL 21 gameplay and upped it to the next level! Highliy recommend
Speed & skills are excellent. Goaltending is much better too. Franchise mode is boss.
