I love this Ninja Foodi ! Since I got it I have hardly used any of my other cooking equipment. I use it everyday. Made sure, meat loaf, sausages, meat balls and spegetti , crispy chicken wings, curry chicken, slow cook tender beef steak, rice, pasta… I haven’t made a cake as yet, but only because I don’t have the right size baking tin. This is very easy to use and I even my 10yr son uses it to make chops and wings/ribs. One of my best investment in kitchen gadgets. I have been encouraging all my friends to buy. We are a family of four and this is more than big enough for us. Love it !!

This is just the best. I use this everyday to make my food even twice a day. I’ve got rid of my pots and pans and just use this to make pretty much everything. Making a meal before I would use my cooker, oven, pans and steamer. Now I just use this ninja foodie and that’s it. Don’t get me wrong I do use my cooker and oven still but the ninja more. The pot that comes with it is so easy to clean along with the rest of the accessories that come with it. I have to deep clean mine now where the fan is which you can you a brush for and YouTube how to clean. 100% totally recommend this and is worth the money.
So glad I bought this. In my seventies now and wife having medical problems so have taken over a lot of the cooking and this is the machine I reach for first.
So versatile, easy to clean, love it. Would recommend to anyone.

The multicooker has solved the problem I’ve always had with cooking – too bored to engage to it. Definitely a must have if you want proper cooked food but cant be bothered to cook. As others have said it is bulky indeed so if you have limited kitchen top space perhaps you’d need to reconsider. It does seems very sturdy and worth the price in my opinion as you get so many different cooking functions. Do explore the recipe booklet and cheat sheet that is provided alongside the device, as it offers lots of ideas with how to cook various foods – there is practically nothing you can’t cook with this. The only somewhat negative that I found is that it doesn’t have a ‘delayed’ function – it would have been very useful. That being said, not only I do not regret the purchase, I am now a fan and only cook with this!
What a product. Exceeds all my expectations. If your thinking of it, just buy it. Use mine so much. Great product, easy to clean, exactly what it says.
We all very happy to have it , specially me: they because my son is very keen to make a food in there and I’m very happy and I’ve got a little bit time for myself
My husband was very suspicious when I bought this but we love it! I use it loads and although it’s big, I like being able to feed loads of people in such an easy way. Made pulled pork at the weekend in the slow cooker, then just switched it to saut to reduce some of the liquid and thicken the sauce. Everyone loved it.
As with all airfryers these can be a tad pricey… however, for us, the pressure cook facility is a game changer. Ribs and whole chickens cooked through in like 30 minutes. Then change to air fry for about 10 mins. Sorted. Meat falls off the bone. Wipes down very easy too. My gripe is… the internal basket is hard to lift out without burning yourself even with gloves. Also, its attachments don’t stack away so there’s a lot of cupboard space taken up with bits/racks etc. Product is very cool though at the moment.
Having had this for a couple of weeks, I find the hardware is rather capable, but is let down by the controls.
For example.
I have around 3l of tomato puree with onions and all sorts of nice stuff in the tub, and after trying it with smaller quantities, I know it will very slightly burn at 150C in ‘air crisp’ mode.
So, I’d like to run it for perhaps 6 hours at 130C.
This is impossible.
It can run in bake mode just fine at 130C for 4 hours, or dehydrate mode for 6 hours and 90C.
You can’t get both, as there are arbitrary limits on the time/temperature in each mode to stick with the ‘proper’ uses of the mode name. (under 150C will never crisp, and over 90C risks cooking, not dehydrating food).
good for multi cooking meat and veg for example, problem is that any cookbook seems to be for American market, small book with machine is quite good though
Fantastic it really is a game changer. My oven is now defunct. Everything is a pleasure to cook in this thing and I have not tried many recipes but each one is spot on. All my regular dinners are now cooked in the foodi. Jacket potatoes are phenomenal, roast chicken, salmon all delightful. Looking forward to trying more things.

I love everything about it ! Use it daily and have now expended my ninja family and bought the grill.
Its brilliant, rarely use my gas oven or hob any more, I even do a Sunday roast dinner in it in half the usual time, it does take a bit of trial and error to get things right eg if not careful it turns veg into pulp because it cooks so quickly but with practise you soon get the hang of it. Just be aware it is big and heavy. Don’t bother with the Ninja cookery books, they are mostly American and the recipes are rubbish, I just use my existing books and adjust times according. Buy one, you won’t be disappointed.
Ok, so the NInja foodi max 9-1 is an incredible piece of kit. What it cannot do is not worth doing. But, before you buy one make sure you do some reading and research. Because it isn’t just a case of throwing stuff in and hoping for the best. Mainly, the pressure cooker is extremely good, but unless you know pressure cooking times and conversions you might find that you don’t use this function a lot or you are spending a lot of time trying to find information online that isn’t always available. For example, the main selling point of this item is the ability to cook a full chicken to perfection within half an hour. Although this is very accurate and I have cooked a few chickens now to perfection. The instructions provided aren’t always convertible. I.e the recipe in the book provided provides you with a weight of chicken and the instructions for that chicken. But, in the UK, your standard average chicken from a supermarket doesn’t weigh this much so you have to do a bit of maths to figure out how long to put it in the pressure cooker. Not necessarily a fault, but, it would be helpful if Ninja included a more comprehensive conversion guide on how to work a pressure cooker. Especially for newbies like me.
That being said. I have used every function on this and I have not been disappointed at all. Perfectly cooked beef every time, perfectly crispy chips, dehydrated fruits the lot. I have really been experimenting and I absolutely love it. My favourite is risotto rice/paella cooked to perfection in 2 minutes. 2 MINUTES!!! Amazing.
A bit more advice, if you are on Facebook, join the Ninja Foodi group. Loads of helpful people and loads of amazing recipe’s.
Overall, this is an amazing machine. I adore it and I am still finding new ways to experiment with it. But, it’s not a substitute for actual cooking skill, which some is required to truly get the best out of it. A little bit of reading and research and you’ll thoroughly enjoy using it. But if you don’t you might find that it just ends up sitting there.
Hope this helps.
Love love love my foodi. Had for around 5 weeks now. Not used my cooker since! Was scared of the pressure cooker part but once I’d used it there was no looking back. Cooks everything to perfection quickly whatever function you use.
We had debated on getting a straight forward air fryer but the hubby was adamant that we got the Ninja. With it just being the two of us we decided on the mini. It says it can feed two people…let me tell you, I did a shepherds pie and also a stew and it fed 4 people each time. I think it all depends on what you cook and how you cook it.
Everything you cook in the Ninja Just tastes better, it’s madness. It’s easy to use and yes it comes with a very small recipe book but there are plenty of sites online with tons of recipes with step by step guides.
I am so pleased with this product and now I am looking for accessories so I can bake and also do more items at once.
I love my Ninja Foodi! I can make complex meals quickly in one pot with minimal washing up afterwards. It’s so versatile I rarely use my oven, hob or microwave anymore as I prefer reheating good in this as it maintains the crunch rather than getting all floppy. I would definitely recommend this item.
It just replaced my slow cooker, air fryer, and pressure cooker. Yes, it’s big, but I still gained so much space in my kitchen press. Love the versatility and it’s very easy to clean. The best thing I bought in 2020!
Recently became a one person household and it seemed a waste putting oven on – this is just perfect and I would highly recommend it. Air Crisp is brilliant and no oil required so healthy but still tasty. Pressure Cooker & Slow cooker mode both had great results and have cooked a whole small chicken just to try it out – combo of pressure cooker then aircrisp. Also good results on various frozen things, fishfingers & fishcakes especially – crisp on outside and soft inside, I could go on forever. In fact, I wish I’d bought the bigger version before hubby passed away as it would have been just brilliant for the two of us. Only suggestion is that I cook at a lower heat setting than instructions for fan oven.
Followed the instructions and recipes from the small cook book no complaints tasty food. Easy to clea
The pressure cooker speeds up so many dishes, the air fryer best for making chips we’ve ever had, cook a superb curry from scratch in 30 minutes. Breakfast bacon is beautifully crisp in 7 minutes. Can’t praise it enough. The Ninja has very quickly become an indespensible part of our kitchen.
I have had the ninja for several weeks now and I am pleased to say it have used it now for most of the functions and I am very pleased with all of them. As there is use my wife and I to feed it is very useful. Also having the largest size we can cook more and freeze the rest. As stated I am very happy with my purchase.
REALLY ENJOYED USING THIS NEW DEVICE – AND IT CAPTURES FLAVOURS AND SAVES ON TIMED.
LOADS MORE RECIPIES TO TRY : )
We’ve used this a few times now and after the first couple failed attempts, this is just fantastic. Disappointed that we hadn’t discovered this earlier. We have the juicer by ninja too for a few years now and can vouch for the build quality.
OMG! This is seriously the most AWESOME thing I’ve ever owned (for the kitchen!) I’ve cooked absolutely everything in it since Christmas and haven’t turned my oven on once! Whole roast pork, with amazing crackling, and hour and 10 minutes! Boom!
I`m very pleased with my Ninja, there is such a choice of uses. I needed the instruction book beside me for the first few times but I am getting used to it now. The steam setting is as good as a normal steamer. Oven chips are very tasty. I have even done individual yorkshire puds in it. I`m still learning but very impressed with it.
Love the air fryer, yoghurt maker and the hundreds of recipes readily available to make great food
This is my first slow cooker and I love it! There are all possible cooking modes. Convection oven is simply great. Indeed, it turns out very tasty, and, importantly, practically without fat. The controls are simple and straightforward. There is an instruction and a book of recipes. The recipe book gives information about the modes and cooking parameters for different products. Which is very useful at first. In all modes, it is possible to change the parameters of temperature and cooking time.
There are no fully automatic programs, such as rice, pilaf, etc. Keep in mind that it is rather big, so you need to choose a place for it in the kitchen in advance. In general, I like everything so far. I recommend to buy. There are no analogues to this multicooker yet.
This was a gift to my daughter , she is delighted with the versatility of the Ninja , the flavour of the food is really good . Is great for creating good nutritious and balanced meals in one pot .
Had been seeing alot about the Ninja and how good they were and was quite sceptical about them. I enjoy cooking but hate the washing up that comes with it so was tempted into buying one with the black Friday sales.
It arrived within a couple of days and seemed quite a daunting peice of equipment.
A couple of days later I took a deep breath and decided to use it for the 1st time. The instructions were easy to follow and did a test on the pressure setting.
I started with a couple if the basics, chips, baked potato, chicken etc.
I am a convert! The food tastes delicious and washing up is so much easier as you don’t have lots of pans to clean.
I would advise researching recipes online or investing in a recipe book as the one it comes with is very basic.
Overall a great purchase just need to practice and get used to it.
Does almost everything except pizza and pies and does it well, I thought it might have been a lot of advertising blurb but no it actually does the job very well best bit of kitchen kit I bought in ages
All the publicity is true, the Ninja foodi is truly outstanding, the speed, quality and ease of use are all exceptional and it is so easy to clean after use. The ninja foodi produces lovely tasting food and is exceptionally versatile. I was unsure that it would be worth the money, my fears were unfounded, although expensive it is worth every penny
Bought as a a Christmas present to ourselves but could not wait. used all functions except slow cook so far. Turned out some great dishes.
Getting used to it, but great for low cal chips! Tried a silverside joint, which was good, as I could simply lift the lid and check with a food thermometer during cooking. Takes up a lot of room on the worktop. Recommended.
We were looking to replace an old 3 litre slow cooker and thought we would buy the Ninja Mini at 4.7 litres as this should be big enough for just the two of us. Wrong! The Ninja idea is a good one and it can produce good cooked food, however, for the Mini that should read snacks, not food. We tried a 1.6 kg chicken and it doesn’t fit when air crisping. Admittedly, Ninja says a max 1.5 kg but that would be a push too.
We have now sold this one after three weeks and bought the biggest one. The cooking pot is the same diameter but taller. It takes up marginally more space on the worktop but well worth it and only 30 more expensive. I think the Mini would be a good idea for a lone student or someone who doesn’t plan to be ambitious with their culinary skills but not for anyone who wants to try to cook a whole meal.
So, buy a Ninja, but buy a big one!
This is the most useful piece of kitchen equipment I have ever owned. In the month since it arrived I’ve used it nearly every day – making crisp, golden fries, perfect yoghurt, slow cooked stews, pressure cooked soups, grilled chops. On Christmas Day it was in use for the Christmas pudding, effortlessly and silently pressure cooking the pudding in 45 minutes. Later in the week the large pot took the whole goose carcass, making bone broth in 2O minutes. The pot is a dream to clean.
The only improvements I would suggest would be a handle added to the pot and a bigger range of accessories ( eg stacking pots for one pot dinners).
Had this a month and so far so good. I’ve used it for air frying, pressure cooking, slow cooking and dehydrating and everything has been lovely with the flavour locked in.
It’s a large item but we have found it easier to have the one item rather than separate gadgets
Amazing bit of kit had one 3 weeks not turned my oven on once.Once you understand how it works great.
I have been using this nonstop since I received it a month ago.
Pros: fries/ chips, rice, ribs, sauces, soups, sundried tomato, grilled vegetables. easy to clean. Easy to use. Heats fast. Pots dishwasher safe and easily replaced. Lots of add ons if you’re so inclined
Cons: very large. You need to put it where it can steam and heat up. If you’re making multiple dishes or a lot of food you will have to work out things like keeping dishes warm, what needs to be prevented from drying out, and working in batches.
One of the 3 possible things to rate the cooker on is flavour. I can’t see how you can blame a cooker for the flavour or texture of your dish. That seems like something you should control. You will have to consider things like water loss or adding extra water for pressure. I have found the browning to be even and the frying is lovely. I made a tomato soup and the flavour tasted like it cooked for hours after only 20 minutes in the pressure cooker.
Whst can One say, Its just Amazing Amazing Amazing. We only had it a few days and we been hammering it. Lol. Beef jerky dream maker. Chicken drumsticks and thighs in here are To amazing to explain…vegetables in here take 3 mins? Amazing, healthy choices and super safe cooking. Did big bake potatoes in here today, wow. 15 min pressure cooked, the air crisped for 10 mins. They were Stunning moist inside, super crisp outside. We did Chinese steam buns and they were amazing in here. We even proved the dough in it. Cannot wait to make yoghurt in here soon.
Very easy to clean, cooks food brilliantly in short amount of time. The brand should consider supplying something to lift rack out as it’s very awkward and can cause burns.
Otherwise fantastic .
This is the best item in my kitchen ever! Love it. Mostly use the pressure cook function and that’s great. It is pretty big so you need a big space and clearance above for the lid to raise. Great big pot inside too so can batch cook
Was a bit nervous about using it to start with as it looked complicated but once we got going it’s pretty easy and straightforward have made scones toasted sandwich cooked chickens and home made chips really lovely and great to use
Like everything about the ni ja foodie. Easy clean easy use. Have not used the oven since I got it a few months
ago. Got rid of pressure cooker and slow cooker also.
So easy to pop anything like sausage rolls, tarts, quiche to crisp and heat. Cannot say enough about it. The pressure cook is fantastic as it is not as noisy as pressure cookers used to be. Great buy.
I am still getting used to the whole thing, I used a pressure cooker years ago and had forgotten how good they are.
Meats cook to perfection, slimming world style chips are lovely. I haven’t baked yet or tried fish. I am not a keen cook and only cook because I have to eat but this contraption is excellent for this uninterested cook.
My wife is happy with her new ninja foodie .after dropping many sledge hammer hints . food taste good too . & easy to clean .
Only kidding, well not really. My daughter cooked up the potato peelings in the air fryer. 18 mins I think it took. They were delicious, it was just a practice one Saturday morning with the peelings that were left over. It really is a good piece of kit. The whole family can get involved with the cooking. My grandaughter now has a signature dish of roast chicken that she just pops in the Ninja, really tasty
We have cooked lots of things, takes hardly any time at all with the pressure cooker. We are yet to try making yoghurt, but will do that this week
I;m so impressed with it, I am going to buy my son one for Christmas. I do think they are a bit expensive but in the long run they must save a lot of fuel, wo worth the expense. We tried making chips, again really good, so there you go, saves money again
Its a pity though, the families that really could benefit from one of these, are the families that are least able to afford one
This is the best thing if your thinking about going on a diet. It has sooo many options
The quality is the best I mean I have never seen anything with this price and this quality specifically the outside of it I love the new design and it is the best purchase I have made
Only issue is the product itself is large but the space you can cook isn’t as large and yeah otherwise it is a perfect cooking thing, replaces microwaves and ovens it does a fantastic job thank you ninja

The best kitchen gadget I have bought to date, saves on time and energy. Never having owned a pressure cooker before, I was amazed at how tender and moist meat turned out. Reduces cooking time dramatically which is such a bonus. Super easy to clean. Now wanting more accessories for it. Hardly used my hob and oven in the last 6 weeks since I bought this, still bake my cakes in the oven but hardly bake so not a big deal just because I tray bake and that’s too big for the foodi.
Even my husband has noticed it’s not just another fad/gadget thats been put away after a few uses.
It is heavy so I leave it on the worktop but just be aware you have to have space to store extra lid and racks etc that come with it.
Haven’t had to use my hob nor oven since I bought my ninja foodi last month. Everything you can cook on your cooker can be done in the ninja in a fraction of the time. I’ve even dehydrated fruits to make a Christmas display. The only downside is that some of the coating is coming off the crisper basket but I contacted Ninja customer service and they’re sending me out a new basket.
All in all, a brilliant product and I shall definitely be adding to my ninja appliance family soon.
I have used this for several weeks now. I am a genuine purchaser and want to give an honest review.
This machine is extremely well thought out and a delight to use. The cooking modes do all that you can imagine and more. I have not used my oven or hob since I received my Ninja.
I was never able to cook “pink” meat before, now Beef Pork and lamb is cooked to perfection. Chips are straight out of McDonalds best with a couple of tablespoons of veg oil. Dried a load of mixed veg before they were soon to be dumped. Now they are sprinkles (garlic, onions, chillies, spring onions and a tin of pineapple…liquid drained.) A full basket of fresh veg ended as two jars of dehydrated long lasting flavourings. 4 rashers of bacon air dried 6 mins at 200C. 1 litre yoghurt from a litre of milk and one small tub of supermarket yoghurt and some honey.
Brilliant machine and worth the investment for me. Phil Henderso
We tried to get 1 of these during lockdown although they had sold out everywhere. As soon as they were available agin we purchased 1. Most definitely not disappointed at all. It can do almost most things you would use for an oven, air fryer, steam, pressure cook, slow cook, saute. Everyday it is used, worth every penny
This is a review based on the first time I used the Foodi.
I cooked a whole large chicken for a family of 4.
Easy to use, fairly easy to clean and the chicken was delicious.
Normally I would roast a chicken in the oven or use a slowcooker.
Clearly the Ninja was quicker and cleaner that the oven and far quicker than a slow cooker.
Taste was great, moist chicken with crispy skin.
Looking forward to doing something else at the weekend.
I had an air frier before this and wore it out. This thing takes my cooking to whole new level. I’ve not found anything that it can’t cook better than a normal oven.
Bought for my daughter in law and she is extremely pleased with it and making all sorts of new food with it.
Love this item, does a great job, the only downside is having to airfry in batches if you have a big family. Great chicken, fries, ribs, casseroles and hoping to try bread this week. Highly recommend.
Brilliant designed, versatile piece of cooking equipment. It combines so many functions that it replaces many other items of equipment.
I ordered this to replace my Instant Pot and Tefal Actifry that I’ve had for 3 years. It arrived a day earlier than expected. It is quite large but a nice looking item. It cooks very quickly in comparison to my Instant pot, it is a little confusing but I am getting used to it. It isn’t a cheap price but the quality and look there is no comparison. The instructions are OK, but take some getting used to, but still learning what you can do with it. It is easy to clean too which is another plus. I would recommend this Ninja Max Multi Foodie, you can do morethan you could think of. Even dehydrate, fruits, make yoghurt, it cooks very quickly saving on time, it has 9 different cooking modes and various levels of setting for each one. I have fallen in love with this, you could taste the difference compared to the Instant pot and Actifry. So it’s a win win situation in every way!!! update, I have received a replacement now. After very long messages, I received a new one. I still absolutely love it. Neesey Ninja has been installed in pride of place, its only thing I cook with now. Best ever appliance I’ve bought!!!
This even tells you which lid to put on and how much water to add. It truly is a magnificent product. I have used mine for slow cooking, pressure cooking, dry frying of roast potatoes…..and that’s just in a month. You cannot go wrong and the price tag is reassuring considering that it is built to last.
Amazing product should have got one years ago cos everything mush faster and the meat comes off juicy which suprised me I was sceptical have now purchased more Ninja products and more purchases planned
I really like using the ninja for cooking quick and tasty dishes. This was recommended to me by my friend and I’m glad I got one. There are many functions but I use the air fry and pressure cooker the most! It’s easy to clean and a convenient device in the kitchen for my busy lifestyle. I read the instructions a few times to become familiar with the timings for different food so they will be good perfectly. Would be even better if the cord was slightly longer. Highly recommend!
I was sceptical about purchasing the foodi, but after speaking to friends and reading the reviews I thought I’d give it a go. I does so many things and it’s so much quicker than a conventional oven so we are very pleased with our purchase.
Steve
As the title suggests we have used the Tefal actifry for years (10+) and have been happy with it. Our second one recently broke so we were faced with a dilemma! In the end we obviously went for the Ninja Foodi MAX.
We were reluctant at first as our last airfryer stirred the food constantly. How would this one stack up? Well it does an amazing job to be honest. Yes you need to shake the basket during cooking but really only once! The photo I put up was a quick tea before heading out of frozen chips and nuggets. Made in 18mins with one shake! No constant stirring paddle required with better results.
In addition to this the absence of a moving paddle means things don’t get broken up. No longer do we have a lot of wasted crunchy bits left in the bottom of the pan.
Apart from the airfry bit it does a lot more! Try pressure cooking raw potatoes cut into wedges for 5 mins and then crisping them up for 15. They are like you would get in an Italian restaurant.
I have quickly roasted a joint of beef in it in 35 mins! And it was amazing. Rice pudding in the pressure cooker is ace! I have had this product for a few weeks now and there’s still settings I’ve yet to use.
My only slight negative is it’s bigger to wash than an actifry (It still fits in dishwasher easily btw, just takes up a bit more space), but on the positive side you can clean all of the cooking parts in the dishwasher unlike the actifry.
As the price point is around the same for a decent air fryer I would honestly say to go with this one. It does so much more and does it very well.
This is the best investment I’ve made, it does frozen chicken and chips better than any fast food, it’s does meals amazing but of kit I love the mac and cheese recipe too. I was lucky I got mine for 180over 5 months oh and I’ve hardly used my stove since and much easier to clea
I thought long and hard and studied lots of reviews before buying.
Its not cheap so need careful thought.
There is also a Ninja Foodi Grill so dont get confused.
Mine is the Ninja Foodi Max.
It is a pressure cooker, grill, air fryer and more all in one.
There is a small recipe book supplied but I bought others.
I have not mastered all the variations yet. But as an example, here is how I do a 2kg chicken
Put chicken in foodie with 250ml liquid. ( the recipe suggests herbs plus honey plus lemon etc)
Use pressure cooker lid and cook for 35 min.
A digital food thermometer is useful.
Spray chicked with oil, pull down air fryer lid and air fry 15 min.
You have a beautiful tender golden brown chicken.
Easy to use, have made several different recipes and all successful. Still experimenting with all the functions it has.
Food is so much healthier and tastes so much better even potatoes and the crispy bacon is to die for, would recommend.
does everything! great for meals from scratch through to frozen things – cant fault i
Since I purchased this cooking gadget I’m using everyday. Very easy to use and clean. Now in my collection I have other 4 ninja products
Delivered in time promised, well packed easy to use. A full cooked roast meal is ready in an hour from beginning.
Excellent product would recommend to any family much quicker that using oven for meals good energy saver. Food always comes out with a good flavour.
I already had the Ninja Foodi Grill and have been very pleased with it using it nearly every day over a year. I wanted a replacement for my current electric pressure cooker and air fryer, both getting quite old.
I had read that the max size was very large but as one of my photos show it isn’t much bigger than the one it is replacing. It actually fits in the same space for storage except for the extra lid for pressure cooking. It should also be noted that you cannot fit the wire rack and air fry basket in the machine at the same time for storage.
Operation is very easy, if you haven’t used an electric pressure cooker or air fryer before it comes with good instructions. I always test new gadgets with a chicken and I based the timings on my open experience with the 1.8kg chickens I normally buy. The photo shows, before then after 20 minutes pressure cooking then the final result after 20 minutes of air frying. I used a thermometer to keep a check and it came out perfectly.
As can be seen in one photo the wire rack can be used to lift out the air fry basket. This is a tip from one of the many helpful online videos. The red silicone is in fact oven shelf protector available from Amazon.
Cleaning is very easy because of the excellent none stick surfaces. However remember to take the base feet off the air fryer basket as it does collect grease.
There are many accessories that fit including the silicone lid in the photo, this comes in a pack of 5 assorted sizes from Amazon. I use it when I have prepared something and it is resting or when using the saute function as a splatter guard.
The only small issue for me is that it has a fixed and short mains lead. My old electric pressure cooker and air fryer both have replaceable kettle style leads.
Where do I start with this product. I was a little nervous spending 200 on something I thought might end up being a fad! NO WAY! We use this all the time, I have just discovered the dehydrating function and grew my own tomatoes, dehydrated them and then put in a jam jar with olive oil so have my own sun dried tomatoes! The roast chicken came out super crispy and I air fried sweet potatoes which I cut pretty thick and they literally only took 20 minutes and tasted amazing. You literally can’t go wrong as it will tell you if you have the wrong lid on for the particular function you are trying to use and will also tell you if you are using the wrong lid. I literally can’t recommend this Ninja enough and would highly recommend upgrading to get the bigger pot and more functions. A*******
I love my Ninja Foodi Max! Since the day it arrived I’ve used it every day to air fry, roast chicken, pressure cook. I’ve cooked pasta dishes and rice dishes, including risotto. Omelette, chicken wings, ribs, burgers, steak. All cooked quicker and foods come out so flavoursome and tasty! Highly recommend you get this. It’s a must for any chicken. It hasn’t let me down yet. It’s worth the price for sure 🙂
Easy to use once you buy a Users Manual for Idiots(LOL) I made a Beef Stew in 20mins and was awesome!!
Oh my dear god! It has sent the oven into retirement! This thing is AWESOME! literally does everything but serve it up for you – will never be using the oven again AT ALL.
First I need to point out some things. There are people saying this is huge, is not much bigger than other air fryers I have had. It’s just short the size of a microwave. As for noise, it’s not really much noisier than other air fryers.
Now I must say I love this thing, it really is amazing. I have cooked the most tastiest, tender and succulent meat in this. A while chicken full of flavour and falling off the bone. Lamb joint juicy and tender. Pork ribs with melt in the mouth meat and falling clean off the bone. Beef curry with juicy diced beef. I have cooked loads of things in this, even jacket potatoes, fluffy inside and crispy outside.
Admittedly not everything has gone out perfect, but that’s more me needing to practice. I cooked a pork joint with crackling, after cooking for about the time of a slightly larger lamb I saw it was juicy but had evidence of slightly undercooked meat. I then had to cook for longer, this meant I lost those delicious juices since I had cut it, but it still turned out nice.
I tried dehydrating orange and bananas, again it did not turn out right. The banana shriveled and went a bit rubbery. The orange was crispy outside, but soft in the middle. I think I just need to experiment more and nail the timing.
Cleaning the bowl and crisper basket is ridiculously easy, they have really good noon stick properties. Do not use abrasive tools to clean, and avoid using metal utensils inside. I should think these will last a while. The metal racks that come included are mostly easy to clean, the only let down is the welded points, these can be tricky to clean. I’m not down rating for that though, it’s something that can’t be helped and just requires a little extra attention when cleaning.
Certainly get some oven gloves, before I got some I burnt myself a few times getting the basket out. Again not a fault of the machine, just be cautious and protect your hands.
This is by far the best cooking gadget I have had in years (and I have had various air fryers). I use it daily for almost everything. I still need to experiment a little with some things, but the included cook book sets a nice template for a variety of things to cook and make your own. A must have and valuable tool with the price in my opinion.
Arriving late to this party I thought let’s give this a try. A lot of should I shouldn’t I. In the end we went for it. I didn’t believe my oven would become almost redundant but it has. It’s used every day. I don’t keep it handy, I have to get it from my garage utility, but this is not a problem. The Max is a bit of a lump, but it’s good for the arm muscles moving into position. I couldn’t use it on the counter top as I didn’t have lid clearance, so it goes on a large wooden board on the hob. I was worried about heat being emitted and extra steam but this was pretty much non existent. The main metal bowl is cleaned so quickly just in the sink and is really non stick. The air crisp basket and metal trivet all goes in the dishwasher. It’s so quick and easy to use and doesn’t dry things out. We like a lot of vegetable based and nut based food and they cook so well. Chips are amazing. I have to say I believe those now that just say give it a try, you won’t regret it. I’m converted.
I’ve pretty much replaced my cooker with this unit. Putting that in context, I live alone, a family wouldn’t be able to do that in real terms. It’s not large enough to heat a frozen pizza, but I’ve made stews, cottage pies, heated frozen meals, boiled eggs, steamed rice and chicken, and baked a cake – 6 litres or so of a beef stew can be done in about 45 minutes, with the meat being really tender – the unit is a grill, steamer, pressure cooker, saute and slow cooker combo, also has a tendercrisp feature which will brown your food quickly (e.g. skin on a roast chicken). It’s fairly frugal on electricity, a full container of stew used under 25p of electric to cook, compared to multiple hours slow cooking on a hob. You do need to adjust your cooking methods somewhat to accommodate, but there are many useful and helpful recipe books on Amazon, and loads of useful YouTube presentations and recipes online
This makes a good roast chicken. Initial steam (15-20 Min)) / pressure cooking then swap the lid and (12 min) crisp it up. A bit convoluted but it does work and produces a very moist bird with a crispy skin. Times are just a guide
Also makes OK chips, I tried two methods: Steam then crisp (5 + 20 min), (a bit like the chicken) and alternatively just crisp (25min) There was no advantage to the steam step so don’t bother. For roast potatoes I guess the steam would help. But you must dry them before oiling and crisping.
Back to chips. I was using less than best potatoes and had cut them fairly large (chunky) The irritating thing about chips is that they take longer than a chicken to get to the table as you must pre soak the chips for an hour. This has the advantage that old tattys firm up again but there is the time penalty.
The other variable is the oil you use. After drying the soaked chips with a tea towel they are popped into a plastic bag for oiling. Just throw a small amount of oil into the bag and shake it around until they are coated. I tried olive oil and sesame. Sesame seemed to be the better oil but there are many other oils out there, just be aware that you are heating the oil to 200C so don’t use a delicate and easily burnt/denatured oil.
Every 8 minutes or so you need to open the crisping lid and move the chips around, I used a wooden spoon and closed the lid again. After all that the chips are crispy on the outside and moist in the middle. My dieting other says they are fine.
Huge and noisy, yes it is. It throws out heat and/or steam. To open the lid you need a lot of headroom. To release the steam lid I used an old kitchen roll tube to direct the steam upward, protected my fingers whilst controlling the release rate.
Obviously this machine can make a vast range of foods, they claim yogurt too. it is very solid and quite heavy, you need plenty of space to use it and store it. But it does replace an oven, an air drier, pressure cooker, steamer, grill etc…
Incredible bit of kit, bought when I was bored turned out to be the best thing ever lol don’t hesitate they are amazing!
Versatility, I don’t use the hob , grill, rice cooker , slow cooker or oven anymore .
Cooks fast
An amazing addition to the kitchen.
However…..
I had a problem with the unit after 2 years use and was refunded, I bought another but the newer model seems to have a lighter duty pressure lid.
I trusted the old model to switch on and leave but there has been a couple of instances where I have returned to it in pressure cooker mode and it did not seal
Great piece of kit I’ve hardly used any other cooker but the Ninja since I bought it. I’ve experimented with all kind of foods from bread making, baking pies (including the fillings), cooking meats and vegetables, some things do require a bit of trial and error but once you’ve cracked the method the Ninja is brilliant. I would definitely recommend this product you won’t be disappointed and it’s great fun trying different recipes out, it cooks great spare ribs all in one pot, plus many other things.
Amazing machine cooks a Sunday roast in half the time of a fan oven..you wouldn’t need a cooker anymore after buying this..
We use this everyday! Its so versatile, absolutely amazed. The thing is huge and heavy, so you certainly need a decent amount of space for it on your worktop especially as it will live there, and you will most likely need to find a spot without upper cabinets as you wont be able to fully open the lid so keep this in mind. Food tastes great and cooks in no time. There is a bit of a learning curve to it as it usually cooks quicker than conventional cooking. We have uswd most functions apart from dehydrate, grill, yoghurt/slowcook. I only hope it lasts, as it only has a 2 yr warranty.
Amazing. Such an useful kitchen tool. Even my partner loves it – and he did not want me to buy it!!!
Could not be without it now! It’s so versatile and easy to use. Bought as a gift for my wife so the comments are from her.
Gift for my wife, who had wanted one for ages. We use it for most meals either for the entire meal or bits of it. A few functions we haven’t yet tried but it lives up to our expectations.
Absolutely brilliant! I made curry, fried chicken, chips, steamed salmon and asparagus in one go… The best thing, I gave up three items that were taking so much space… steamer, slow cooker and air fryer. To be honest, even some regular pans were forgotten as it’s easier to sautee, make scambled egg and all sorts in the foodi.
This is great product. Reduces cooking time compared to normal oven. Does 2kg beef joint in just over 1 hour. Does not dry out the meat, stays juicy and tender. Dear to buy but we got good deal on Pre Black Friday deal, so well worth the cost.
Best pot I ever used. I make delicious food with it, with much less oil but with the same flavor. Easy to use, easy to clean and everything in one pot.
I also want to thank Amazon for the best service ever. My pot arrived damaged from the delivery, and after sending photos to Amazon, they send a replacement.
I recommend this pot. You will enjoy i
Although I’ve had to rethink my approach to meal preparation, this cooker does absolutely everything. I haven’t used my oven since I received it. I have used every function and can’t complain about any of them. I’ve had to adjust some cooking times for my baking and roasting recipes, but that just takes a bit of checking to see if food is done. It is very easy to clean. I had room in my kitchen to have it permanently on a worktop. If I didn’t have that space I would find getting it out and putting it away burdensome though.
I am shocked at how good this device is. Completely replaced my grill and oven and stop any chance of burning good with the set timer. Would highly recommend.
Great for cooking all sorts of stuff. Downside is not many recipes in the little book, but we figure things on our own. Still haven’t used all the options! Overall we love it.
The Ninja Multi Cooker is our new favourite cooking pot in the kitchen. It is stylish to look at and very easy to use, perfect for roast dinner and making Chinese soup.
The coated pot is easy to wash, even burnt BBQ sauce comes off with a simple wipe. Cooking under pressure cut down cooking times significantly and it locks in all the favour. The air crisping function works a treat with Yorkshire pudding, french fries and ribs. Everything turns out golden brown and not oily like a deep fryer. No mess as everything is contained within the pot.
Roast chicken under 20 minutes! BBQ ribs under 15 minutes with fall off the bones tender meat!
I strongly recommend to get the large size, it will be worth it.

**CAUTION** – This is an in-depth review – Feel free to SKIP to the CONCLUSION to get my all-round summary.
When I received this package I almost fell over at the sheer size of the box being delivered. An absolute unit!
If you’re considering purchasing this you need to ensure you have the space to accommodate a unit of this calibre on your worktop. Especially if you own other gadgets. I’ve set it up between the bread machine and the stand mixer, thankfully I can do away with the risotto maker as this unit can make risotto.
The Contents:
Its a giant unit with a hefty footprint – but one that looks luxe and high end compared to the standard version. With a beautiful brushed metal finish and a chic matt patina lid.
Inside, there is a ceramic coated pot which holds 7.5litres and a larger ‘Cook and Crisp’/Air Fry basket holding 4.7 litres compared to the standard model.
Accompanying it are two lids – a Pressure Cooking Lid which is detached from the main unit and stored separately; and a fitted Crisper Lid which ALWAYS STAYS ATTACHED, even when not used, at 90 degrees.
The trivet (or rack) for this higher spec unit is still reversible, but also it contains a second removable layer for twice the cooking compared to standard.
There’s also a rather fantastic pair of silicon ‘half’ mitts to handle the hot apparatus. Very useful!
The silicon gasket on the Pressure Cooking Lid of this model is dark in colour: this will keep it looking newer as it won’t look so stained as easily as the whitish one on the standard version model.
The digital screen is sleek and polished with a rotating dial -so much more convenient than the push button temperature control, which you seem to have to endlessly press to get to the required function or temperature.
What I Love:
I love the fact that it can cook unto six large portions. great if you have a large family, but sometimes when we have food left ill put in the freezer for a rainy day.
With the multi functionality, it can cook an entire three course meal – of course, with dessert baked in the unit after your main.
There’s an included starter recipe book containing close to 20 good recipes. There’s many more online and on their site.
Buy Separately:
I hope the accessories that are available in the States cross over to the UK too as some of them are rather handy:
* Folding crimping rack to grasp things as this cook, such as a stuffed bell pepper, tortillas to make tacos;
* Extra Cooking Pot – a great idea as I often like to store my food in the pot for a day or two. Id always have an extra on standby;
* A glass Lid – great for the keep warm and serving of food directly from the pot;
* A Baking Sling – I’ve never heard of this – Sounds like some kind of cake removing contraption?!
My Initial Test:
It took 8 minutes to pressures 3 cups of water which is really quite fast compared to my other electric pressure cooker. You then have the option to manually depressurise quickly which takes a minute or two or allow to self-cool which takes 20 minutes. Theres also a ‘Keep Warm’ function.
The Best Part:
Finally!! A UK release to match the US: A dehydrator and yoghurt maker. The dehydrator operates from 26 degrees C to 90 degrees C. Both are relatively simple to operate. You can dehydrate herbs, fruit like banana to make chips, apples and even beef for jerky in this dehydrator, you’re only limited by your own imagination.
What Can I Do with It:
Air Frying
A basket sits inside the main pan so that air can circulate around. Bacon too can be hung to air fry using the supplied racks.
Steam, Bake, Roast, Slow Cook, Dehydrate, Yogurt
These are all made simple by following the guidelines and recipes in the books. Rice is fluffy and soft if you have a little experience. The cakes are baked to perfection – just like our bread maker, you must ensure your quantities are correct. This isn’t a miracle machine. It basically churns what YOU put in. If you don’t like to quantify and don’t enjoy cooking and then expect an amazing meal. Then this unit is probably not for you.
Crisper and Grill
Using the undetachable lid that always stands on the side of the unit when not used, you can achieve a perfectly crisp finish. Be it Mac and Cheese, or a perfectly roasted joint.
Sear, Saute and Pressurise
Searing and sauting are time consuming in this unit and so much quicker on my hob unless I have a large amount to do for, say, a dinner party. Pressuring is a breeze and one worth the investment. You’re rewarding with beautifully tender, succulent cuts.
Negatives:
As oppose to the Instant Pot, the Ninja has a ceramic non-stick coating to the interiors.
I’m not sure if I like this, I am a bit more rough with my Instant Pot, as the uncoated steel is lot more forgiving to those of us that are a tad more “utensily-challanged”.
The Ninja I’ve noticed has a somewhat delicate non-stick coating and I must be careful, even when im sliding the pots back into the main unit. All UTENSILS MUST BE SILICON OR WOODEN for this one.
You will need 24 inches of height space as the crisper lid is not removable and will stand tall to one side, even when not used. The Ninja can’t be put under any units as the pressure of the steam will quickly deteriorate your kitchen units.
It is big (thats no exaggeration) and heavy and difficult/tedious to move a round. I suggest you find a spot and leave it there.
CONCLUSION:
Even though it has a fair amount of negatives (albeit, some minors) as listed in the preceding paragraphs, it really does almost everything and I use this to make all manner of things from cakes (moist and yummy), chicken (juicy and tender), veg (crisp and full of flavour), fries, yoghurt (wonderfully creamy – when good quality of milk and culture is used) and fluffy rice (personal preference dictates the amount of water required).
It takes a little getting used to, some adjustments to recipes are required, to match your personal preferences as this can dramatically effect the outcome.
It takes a little effort to clean, but you must do this after each use so it functions at its best. It disassembles well in order to clean the majority of parts. Use the correct utensils: wood and silicon, as the non-stick is quite fragile.
If you have the room, and “air space” of 24 inches of head height for pressure cooking (see negatives to clarify) then this is a terrific unit to purchase.
A true all-in-one master class!
I try to leave fair and honest reviews, as I myself, really appreciate a genuine review before I decide on my own purchases.
Hope this review helps you decide whether this product is for you. If not, I am happy to answer more questions!
