Bought this for my dad after the old wired nintendo switch controller developed a fault and kept pressing down. This controller has been excellent really good battery life much safer having it wireless then trailing wires across the floor. Was sceptical as it is double the price of the wired controllers but seems fully worth it so far. The controller is also very sleek and has a good weight to it less plastically compared to the wired controllers.
Best controller ever , comfortable in your hands and the controls work smoothly. Delivery great and price is very good. The controller connects to the Nintendo Switch lite in seconds. Well pleased I brought this controller. The battery fast for ages better than the third party controllers.

I already consider the Switch to be the pinnacle of current handheld consoles. It does so much right for casual gamers like myself. This controller makes the Switch feel so much better when it’s docked.
I don’t quite know how I’ve gone this long without getting it. I very much recommend.
Brilliant controller, bought 2 more for my twin girls as all are Zelda fans and this makes playing so much more enjoyable and responsive to in game action.
Will buy again when needed.
I am new to the Switch world and have been looking for a Nintendo Pro controller for ever and found this one at a reasonable price, so after using all the other cheaper brands and dont get me wrong some of the cheaper ones are great but this one is next level. It also has the amiibo function built in so is a great replacement for the JoyCons.
A lot of thought clearly went into the design of this controller. It’s very comfortable and it holds a charge for a long time. There was no noticeable lag. Highly recommended over other alternatives that I have tried, such as wired third-party controllers.
Nintendo caught lacking again in the hardware department, if you disagree just look at how underpowered the switch compared a decent/good smartphone is. But what they lack in hardware they make up for it in software and by that I mean games. Usually..
If you want an Xbox style controller for the switch this is a great option. Great battery life and feel. Just a shame if the price but that can be said about the other consoles official controllers to
I love the fact this product is so ergonomically pleasing, it fits right into hands and is way better than normal switch controllers. I have not experienced any joystick drifting, and the joysticks work just fine, the vibrations feel amazing. A must-have accessory for the switch
I love it. Perfect build quality. It has a nice weight to it and is well balanced. The shoulder buttons are well spaced. A big difference from the puny joycons.. my hands are big and I was getting sore hands from tension holding the joycon. Although I still get it slightly, it’s a vast improvement in comfort, quality and usefulness.
Had mixed feelings about this as I’ve been used to PlayStation and xbox controllers for a very long time but to my surprise its a top pad.
Battery life is long, gyro works well, rumble feature is weak but the pad all feels quality with a good weight to it.
The deadzone is spot on out of the box with zero drift issues. Very happy so far 100% recommend.
The controller is a must have for your switch, it allows more mobility when playing games that isn’t possible on the switch joysticks. The product is well made and I’ve had no issues with it.
So I’m an avid switch player but started to get crampy hands with the tiny joy cons and really didn’t want to send them off for repair yet again, so bit the bullet and got this- and so glad I did! Feels really sturdy, the battery is insane, and it has features like amiibo scanning and vibration. I’ve tried the cheap power A ones and they just don’t compare. Well worth the price and feels high quality
The nintendo switch pro controller feels like a premium controller-similar to the Xbox controller. It connects to your switch very fast and when your switch is docked and connected to the TV its gives for a more immersive gaming experience.
The pad is solid, well built and comfortable to hold. However, the rumble feature is a lot subtler than it is on the usual Switch controllers. It’s a little disappointing that the pad falls down in this area, as there are plenty of decent third party controllers that people will swerve because they don’t have the HD rumble.
Firstly, the battery alone lasts for days (at least, I’ve not charged it yet).
Secondly this is great for people like me who don’t need the mobility of the console and want to use it with a TV and a nice comfortable controller. Also saves on neck/arm pain from mobile use of the switch.
Controller feels very premium, the rumble and gyro controls feel fantastic, and the comfort of the controller is a lot better than using joy cons, definitely worth the purchase.

Epic battery life for a wireless games controller and large enough for adult hands unlike joy cons. Trouble is the kids prefer the pro controller too (8 and 6yo) so it starts getting expensive!
Only 4 stars due to the cost, this is the matt black version not a limited edition which I see have even sillier price points.
The Joy-Cons that the Nintendo Switch console ships with are the best tools for playing some games and an inspired idea for playing the portable console while out and about, but they have some major limitations that make them less than ideal for certain contexts. The Pro Controller is, in my opinion, near essential for extended play of games that don’t benefit much from Joy Con features, like Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing. It’s much more comfortable than Joy Cons, even when they are put together in a grip, and the larger buttons are much easier to use, especially for those with larger hands.
That is not to say that the Pro Controller does not have some limitations of its own. The rumble isn’t as impressive as in the Joy-Con and some of the gyro controls aren’t as accurate as they need to be. This becomes an issue in games like Mario Adyssey, where gyro controls are needed to perform all the actions available in the game.
I would also rank the Pro Controller as not quite as comfortable to use as either the DualShock 4 or latest Xbox controller (I’ve yet to use a DualSense, though I’ve heard it’s practically in a class of its own). The buttons feel that little bit mushier on the Pro Controller and the handles don’t quite fit the hand as well. These are basically nitpicks though and only really relevant to PC players trying to decide which controller is best for them.
I’d highly recommend the Pro Controller to any and all Switch players. It’s a fine Bluetooth controller for other systems, but I personally think there are better options for PC and mobile.

Very well made, comfortable in the hand and in use. Charge lasts for a decent amount of time looks great and will last you a long time. I have 4 of these now and Mariokart with the missus and kids has been improved 100%
You really can’t beat this for build quality! Beats the original joycons and third party by miles and unfortunately makes it difficult to return to them for games that require any accuracy.
Like others I felt that these were way too expensive. But they are good controllers, feel comfortable and are suitably weighted, and are responsive.
As pretty much every professional review I have seen on these states, they are the best controller you can get for the Switch.
Personally I liked the controller except the fact I turns on whenever you press a button and it’s for a potable console which means it’s hard to well use portably

I got it cheaper during black friday. The controller is brilliant and feels really premium, the battery lasts forever with single charge. However the XYAB buttons feels a bit mushy even the triggers. But overall very happy
The controller itself is excellent and very well made. However, as a woman with smaller hands, it caused me quite a lot of pain trying to stretch them to use it. I gave it to my boyfriend and he hasn’t had a problem.
I was very nervous for the product to arrive because there’re so many reviews claiming its counterfeit. But thankfully I got an authentic product with english writing and the nintendo seal of approval sold and dispatched by amazon. Especially since I live in the middle east and the return process can be difficult (but I’ve heard they don’t ask for the product back a lot of the time). Gonna go play xenoblade chronicles 2 on this wonderful overpriced controller :DD
The only reason I gave 4 stars is because, this quality product especially for this kind of money should definitely come in few colours. I was looking for my 7 yo son for great controller,with Mario on it or any other characters from supermario. There is plenty on the market but they are not too quality. So in order to have a top controller for the switch u need to settle for boring black! Remember most Nintendo fans are kids and I’m sure they would love to see they favourite characters from the games they dearly love. Other than this I have no complaints.
I bought this as a 2nd controller for my son’s nintendo switch, so now his sister can play with him too once its hooked up to the TV. Its comfortable and no complaints yet! dont think there will be any, dont see why there would. If you need another controller then this is the one for you
Like the title says, I consider this an essential purchase for Switch owners. Way better than the Joycon, it’s a more responsive and comfortable controller for long term play. Well build and sturdy, you really can’t go wrong. Sure it’s a little more expensive than 3rd party units but it’s genuinely worth the extra cash. I’ve bought 2 over the life of my Switch and don’t regret it. If you’re planning to play in docked mode a lot, I’d seriously consider making this your primary controller.
Pretty damn pricy but really nice. I’ve had this controller for just over 2 years now and has only recently shown signs of wear, the D-pad sounds a little squeaky but is unnoticeable when playing a game with a headset on. It has seen alot of use, I used it for alot of Hades, Guilty Gear Strive, Persona 4 Golden, Various platformers, Animal crossing and all the games on my pc that are better played with a controller.
No signs of drift after 2 years of heavy use.
Really premium feeling product with a pretty good battery life, way more than the Dualshock 4 controller.
I will definitely buy again should my one of 2 years ever fail on me but i will probably look elsewhere for a cheaper listing for the same item.

When I first got this controller, I wasn’t sure about it as it felt slow but then I realised my fingers were so used to the joy con stick being low that it was playing a game with my brain. After 40 minutes, it felt right and natural to play with this. Now I do want to use anyhting else

Pretty much essential if your planning on playing competitive games. The buttons are smooth to press and large enough to not slip away. I used to think the 360 controller was the pinnacle of form and function untill I grabbed one of these.
Got this for my son for his birthday, as he was looking it to use it with his Nintendo switch. Don’t know good it is myself, as I don’t use it. But my son n loves it. He said he uses it to play mario carts and it’s really good. As long as he’s happy – I’m happy with this purchase
It is quite pricey, but a nice controller that makes Switch gaming so much easier.
I am not a console gamer usually, but since getting the pro controller I’ve played almost 100 hours on Skyrim in a few weeks. It is nice and weighty, but not too heavy. The buttons are in a much better position than the normal switch controllers, and are much nicer to use for larger hands. It was really easy to connect. The only negative is the price.
I love this controller! Ive had the Switch since day 1 but the RRP put me off buying the Pro Controller for a long time.
Its comfortable in the hand and is a far nicer controller to use than the joy cons. I also find it more response and less prone to lag.
The battery lasts for long enough for it to be considered witch craft, we use this thing ALOT and have only had to charge it a hand-full of times, i dont know if its a bigger battery or just more efficient but this is by far the longest lasting wireless controller ive ever used and ive owned every major console for the last 15 years!

As a PlayStation gamer since the early 2000s I found the Switch pro controller to be absolutely brilliant. Although it is similar in design and layout to an Xbox controller, the feel of the buttons and the shape of the controller in your hand is great. I would highly recommend for games like Zelda – using the controller has changed the entire experience for me.
This controller has amazing battery life and makes gaming a lot more comfortable on the switch. It also has very nice build quality, feels solid. My only issue is that the analog sticks make a loud clicking sound whenever i move them around, seems to not effect the performance however.
Surprised and very impressed with this controller. Usually, Nintendo controllers get a bad rap recently especially with the joy con drift.
My advice? Buy this controller! Why? The battery life is great, the feel and quality is classy. Honestly, it’s a better controller than the Playstation 4 and Xbox One in my opinion.
My only negative is that some games require the joy cons only so be prepared to be disappointed when you can’t use this controller for certain games. Honestly, when you move back to joy cons you’ll miss this controller. Then again this is not the controller’s fault as it’s down to developers to support this controller more.
Please avoid the knock offs because having tried them you’re going to find yourself out of pocket and needing to buy a replacement. This controller holds up well for even the most hard core time consuming gamer.
I did some mad research for Switch controllers and what people are saying is right – you pay for what you get, and that 10 or so more is so worth it with this controller. Makes TV games way better to play and if you’re a sucker for Hades like I am, you’re in for a world of fun 😉
I have been using the Joycons for two years+ now and I mut say that switching back to an actual controller has been amazing, the battery lasts forever (only had to charge it three times including the initial charge upon delivery in 75+ hours I think), the grip is great and the controller is really responsive. Might not be a must depending on what you play but it makes a massive difference if you play fast-paced games (DOOM and Smash Bros Ultimate in my case are a lot smoother to play with this, for instance).
Purchased this controller as part of a bundle , with an AmazonBasics charger for this controller, as a Christmas present for a friends 10 year old grandson. Both parts of the bundle, were well packed, not vast amounts of packing, but enough to keep both parts of bundle safe. Just as well, as a man in a white van, delivering on behalf of Amazon, decided to drop the , package, over a 5 1/2 foot high side gate. Lucky enough both parts survived, and worked fine on Christmas day. Once opened, my friends grandson had it charged up, and connected up, to his new Nintendo Switch Pro. He was then well away with his gaming. He said the controller was great, easy to connect, to easy use, as the controls fill smooth and quick to respond. He knows more about these things, than this old man . So I feel it was money well spent .
Great additional controller bought for my son at Christmas I feel they are much better to hold than the normal controllers and I would assume they enhance is playing experience as I don’t see him playing with the other ones as much. It also good because an extra player can play if playing as a family.
I’m glad that I didn’t buy one of the cheaper alternatives on the market. This device is easily as well made as the xbox one controller and comes with a rechargeable battery as standard. The device comes with a USB C cable but can also be charged presumably faster using the cable included with the switch.
The thumbsticks appear to be accurate and as someone who wants to have better control over the thumbsticks when playing docked it is a must have. This also means I can use my joycons included with the switch as a second full controller with the adapter for 2 player games. It’s also nice to have the HD rumble that I would have missed out on with other cintroklers on the market.
This controller will get some abuse playing the upcoming Monster Hunter Rise and if I encounter any issues with the product I will update this review.
I loved the feel of this controller. The buttons are so smooth and responsive. It feels comfortable to use. The quality you’d expect from Nintendo. The price is worth paying for a high quality controller. I used pro controller on Luigi’s Mansion 3 – I found it the game needed the pro controller rather than the joy-con controllers. Especially when it came to Luigi’s vacuum! I’d highly recommend buying this controller. It’s a totally didn’t feel to the PS4 & Microsoft controllers.
One or two reviews on here reporting it’s not the official Nintendo Pro controller so I was a little cautious. But I definitely received the official one. No spelling errors like one reviewer has, and Nintendo support contact info on the leaflet. Connects to the Switch easily, and turns the Switch on when you press the controller Home button. Great quality and worth getting if you play docked a lot.

This controller is 100% nintendo- I could tell just by the box alone, anyways opened it and was very well packaged. The controller itself was brand new/unused with clear wrapping on it. A nice weighty controller, toggles feel very smooth, buttons firm to the touch. As I said I’m very happy with this just waiting for it to charge can’t wait to start using it!! Side note:- this did come with an original C USB charging cable (see plugged into the controller in pics) but this is a wireless controller (just so no-one gets confused thinking it’s wired) A++
This is a decent controller that’s on a par with the XBox standard controller. It’s therefore overpriced for what it is. This is really the kind of quality Nintendo should have been aiming for with the Joy Cons, but at least they got there in the end.

Yes, it’s within the price range for controllers of this standard. It may be expensive, but you get what you pay for.
There are popular games on the Switch that support use of this controller, however not all of them do, so if you’re wanting to use this controller for a specific game then check first to see what it supports before purchasing.
This is perfect so much better than the joy cons no drift at all. This is so worth the money as I bought a cheap version and it was awful this was so easy to pair with my switch is very well made and the NFC function works excellent. Improved game play experience for me.
Bought this to use on PC more than switch, as I only tend to use my switch when I go on holiday etc, and it works fine with automatic Steam support on Windows 10. Games still display the colour prompt for the Xbox pads, and the buttons are in a different order (Switch: YX,BA – Xbox: XY,AB) so the prompts base it on the Xbox layout, but it doesn’t matter to me.
On Steam, the ‘home’ button on the pad takes a screenshot, which is about the only difference I’ve noticed. The charging cable is considerably shorter than the cable on my old wired X360 pad, but I’m using it on Bluetooth anyway. Annoyingly, and this might be the norm with all wireless pads on PC, I just noticed that the pad has been turned on as long as my PC has, so there’s no sleep mode for PC, which is stupid, but then I suppose I am using it for a purpose other than intended.
Definitely the most expensive option, but at least the battery is rechargeable
So far this controller is really good. A lot better than using the other controllers. The only thing that you may have to look out for is with the charging cable. You will need a plug as it only comes with a usb to usb c cable. I plugged it into my PC but it wasn’t the correct current etc.
One of the things I have a problem about the Switch is the Joy Cons, and no it’s nothing to do with drifting, (which is not yet present on my Joycons at the time I was wrighting this). But the Joycons isn’t ergonomic as I liked it to be and the D-Pad on the Joycons was….Let’s just say didn’t look like a D-Pad and should just be another X, A, B, Y buttons I can see why Nintendo did this. So you could see how sceptic I would be when I was buying a Pro Controller from Nintendo and boy did it deliver. Currently my favourite controller of all time for me is the Xbox 360 controller from Microsoft but I believe that this Pro controller is very close and may be superior in some places. One thing it’s superior over is the built quality it is well built compared to the 360 controller and it’s made with semi translucent plastic and another thing it’s better, it’s the D-Pad it’s better not just comparing it from the 360 controller but Nintendo’s own Joycons as well and last thing it’s better is the thumb stick I feel it’s more Smoth, when moving the thumb stick compared to the 360 controller. Over all I will always have a soft spot for Microsoft’s 360 controller anyday but the Pro controller is very close and it’s really ergonomic I could play on this controller for days anyone who wants to buy a Pro controller will not be disappointed at all.

I bought third party controllers and they…well…suck. This controller is definitely worth the price.
The sticks are very accurate (although I had an issue, more on that in a moment)
NFC is quite handy for Amiibos.
The battery life is VERY good, mine arrived fully charged and still has over half battery life after 21 hours playtime
The controller in general is nice to hold, its VERY similar to an Xbox controller in both shape and button layout.
Now, the issue I had is very easy to fix, it seems to be common with ‘NEW’ Switch Pro Controllers.
When I first paired it with my Switch I noticed the left stick didn’t center properly and no amount of calibration would fix it. Turns out all I had to do was hold the reset button at the top of the controller until it reconnected and that was it, now the left stick is super accurate and I have absolutely zero complaints.
I highly recommend this controller. It’s definitely massively improved my gaming experience with the Switch.
You really are just getting what you pay for with this one. It’s the most expensive controller you can get for the switch, although its not much more expensive than the official controllers for PlayStation or Xbox.
It feels most like the Xbox type controllers, and is a huge step up from the joycon control scheme. This review is coming after about a month of use, and multiple reviews say how it may start to malfunction after any period of time, from sticks drifting to flat out ceasing to work. I’ve had none of these so far, and hopefully I won’t have to update this review in any time soon, or at all for that matter.
The controller came and it did everything it was ment to however the L and R buttons didn’t respond when I pressed them lightly. Even my cheep 30 controllers don’t have this issue.

When playing with the switches original controls on the handheld device, it can be awkward to hold and move your fingers around to the right buttons. After a while it can feel pretty uncomfortable.
The Pro Controller stops this, it allows you to play with a handheld controller, that’s not only comfortable in your hands but also improves your gaming quite a bit. If you are a competitive player or just the average gamer, you will not be sorry if you bought this product.
To sum up I highly recommend this device especially for games such as Fortnite if you want to be the best of the best.
i did read most reviews on this controller and some people said its a copy of the Nintendo switch pro controller so i was a bit dubious of purchasing this one, i did and when it came i was well pleased with it. its NOT a copy its the original one i received, my box had the Nintendo seal stamped on it and the correct secret message under the right stick. works and performs fantastic, Bargain at the price of 54.99.
My son says he has better control using this on certain games. The buttons are slightly bigger so makes it more comfortable to use and better at playing.
Since buying the switch my son has since been asking for this for his next present. Was a bit dubious as price was a little expensive (what do i know…mum, ha ha. and on my budget). I bought this as one of his birthday presents. He is made up with it.
This controller is 100% Genuine, it came in a box with the Nintendo Seal on, has the Nintendo Logo on the back panel & the USB C-USB A Cable even has the Nintendo Logo on. It can be used as I Wired Controller while Charging which cheap ones can’t do. It also works perfectly & has better construction than the cheap Switch Controllers available.
I ordered it on the Sunday evening of 31/05/20 & it was expected on Wednesday 08/06/20 & it came today 02/06/20 which was a bonus.

Feels really good in the hand, much like an XBOX controller, the whole thing just feels really premium and works really well with PC or android if you have games you would like to use a controller for, I’ve been using this to play Stadia games on my PC and phone! I will say it works much better if you plug it into the usb.

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller comes with a built-in, rechargeable battery as standard! Unlike the Xbox One controllers that come with two AA batteries! Meaning, you either have to have a constant supply, or buy an additional battery/accessory!
Not only that, the feel of this controller compares well with the Xbox one controller and has, in my opinion, a far superior D-Pad.
All-in-all, if you’re looking for a comfy fit to your “too-big-for-joycon” hands, then this is perfect!
Very good controller that makes gaming that bit more enjoyable and takes away the odd frustration you may experience on the joy cons. The Joy cons are great for most games and gaming on the go but when you have those tough gaming experiences this pro controller is the way to go. Feels good in the hand, and with an amazing battery, that gives 30+ hours of gameplay. Decent 3-6 hour charge with a useful led charge light that goes off once controller is fully charged. Great to play with, especially for the more chunky handed, or serious time dedicated gamer. It costs a bit but it’s a very good controller with just the one headphone jack exclusion as a negative. With battery and handle ability this good you can forgive that minor inconvenience.

Joy Cons are a very expansive piece of junk.
Left joy con started drifting badly, on the right joy con the sr sl buttons don’t work anymore ( which means I won’t be able to use it as a stand alone pad considering those are the buttons used to pair it with the console) and I already had to change the right one once.
This is a good standard controller.
It takes a while to charge but the battery life is great.
Not a 5 star for me, also considering it’s very expansive for what it offers, but there’s no compare to those rubbish joy con.
Decided to get a 2nd pro controller so I didn’t have to keep carrying the same one up and downstairs depending on where I play my switch and this did the job perfectly
If you don’t already have a pro controller I would highly recommend getting one as they make your life so much easier when playing in TV mode the buttons are in a better position compared to the joycon controller and it’s a LOT more comftable it’s like night and day! You won’t regret it

I had original bought a cheaper controller from a third party, the battery life was poor with only 6 hours and after an hour of playing there was discomfort.
I decided to spend on the official Pro Controller, and it was definitely worth it, the controller was much easier to pair, simply plugging in the controller to the Switch hub and it paired instantly upon turnning on, vs going into controller settings, which took a while on the previous controller.
This controller even just after unboxing had a much more premium feel and look, and the battery life is 40 hours, that’s over 6 times longer! After several hours of gameplay there was no discomfort.
I highly recommend spending a bit more for this official version than going the cheaper route on one half the price.
Leaving the below for posterity – Switch update 10.0.2 fixed the drift on both new pads that were sent to me.

Ordered one of this as my old Splatoon 2 one was excellent. First one arrived had drift on the left stick that calibration couldn’t fix. Replacement one had drift in the exact same direction. Just checked the most recent reviews and see that a few people have had the same issue. The pad itself is excellent, if it works, but clearly a bad batch has made it into the system.
The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is, in my opinion, the best controller for the Nintendo Switch. Having purchased a stand, I am able to use the controller with my Nintendo Switch Lite, which lacks rumble features. The HD Rumble provided by this controller is excellent, by far my favourite feature of the controller. The controller also feels great to hold and the buttons are large, which is a nice change from what I’m used to on the actual console. I recommend this to all Nintendo Switch owners. Unfortunately, the controller sent by Amazon was slightly defective, however Nintendo was able to provide a free on-warranty repair, so this isn’t a problem.
I don’t always agree with the ‘buy cheap, buy twice’ adage but it’s so true in this case!
What a fantastic controller. Feels good in the hands and perfectly responsive. I bought a cheaper controller, half the price – it was awful so returned and bought the Nintendo pro. It’s a big step up in cost but so worth it, you will not be disappointed.
I just received this controller today and I’m really impressed with it. It is very comfortable to use and feels so much better than using the Joy Cons (either attached to the Switch itself or with using the attachment that came with the console) The buttons are really easy to press and access, they are positioned in a way that is comfortable on your hand. It is a nice weight to hold, not too heavy but not too light either.
I know it may seem overpriced but it really is worth it, I’m not regretting my purchase as it is making my gameplay so much more enjoyable – yes it really is that good!
Overall i’d recommend any Switch owner to invest in this controller as it is an excellent addition to the console and really makes a difference to gameplay.
The controller itself is superb quality. Expensive, but when you open it/use it, you will understand why it costs more than a ps4/xbox controller. Nintendo has alway been in a class of its own. More importantly-Amazon displayed customer service which deserves mention and praise. The item was not delivered by Friday and this was a gift for a birthday on Sunday. On speaking to customer services – delivery was accelerated and i managed to receive it in time. Such customer service does not go unnoticed and avoided disappointment for the recipient on their birthday.
Love this purchase. So glad I bought it as it is much more comfy to hold than the joy cons especially when u play for a long period of time. Battery life is also very good love the fact it charges via micro usb C
Bought this for my dad after the old wired nintendo switch controller developed a fault and kept pressing down. This controller has been excellent really good battery life much safer having it wireless then trailing wires across the floor. Was sceptical as it is double the price of the wired controllers but seems fully worth it so far. The controller is also very sleek and has a good weight to it less plastically compared to the wired controllers.
Best controller ever , comfortable in your hands and the controls work smoothly. Delivery great and price is very good. The controller connects to the Nintendo Switch lite in seconds. Well pleased I brought this controller. The battery fast for ages better than the third party controllers.

I already consider the Switch to be the pinnacle of current handheld consoles. It does so much right for casual gamers like myself. This controller makes the Switch feel so much better when it’s docked.

Brilliant controller, bought 2 more for my twin girls as all are Zelda fans and this makes playing so much more enjoyable and responsive to in game action.

I am new to the Switch world and have been looking for a Nintendo Pro controller for ever and found this one at a reasonable price, so after using all the other cheaper brands and dont get me wrong some of the cheaper ones are great but this one is next level. It also has the amiibo function built in so is a great replacement for the JoyCons.
A lot of thought clearly went into the design of this controller. It’s very comfortable and it holds a charge for a long time. There was no noticeable lag. Highly recommended over other alternatives that I have tried, such as wired third-party controllers.
Nintendo caught lacking again in the hardware department, if you disagree just look at how underpowered the switch compared a decent/good smartphone is. But what they lack in hardware they make up for it in software and by that I mean games. Usually..
Buy cheap buy twice. Don’t save a few quid on a cheap imitation. It’s never cheaper in the long run.

I love the fact this product is so ergonomically pleasing, it fits right into hands and is way better than normal switch controllers. I have not experienced any joystick drifting, and the joysticks work just fine, the vibrations feel amazing. A must-have accessory for the switch
I love it. Perfect build quality. It has a nice weight to it and is well balanced. The shoulder buttons are well spaced. A big difference from the puny joycons.. my hands are big and I was getting sore hands from tension holding the joycon. Although I still get it slightly, it’s a vast improvement in comfort, quality and usefulness.
Had mixed feelings about this as I’ve been used to PlayStation and xbox controllers for a very long time but to my surprise its a top pad.
Battery life is long, gyro works well, rumble feature is weak but the pad all feels quality with a good weight to it.
The deadzone is spot on out of the box with zero drift issues. Very happy so far 100% recommend.
The controller is a must have for your switch, it allows more mobility when playing games that isn’t possible on the switch joysticks. The product is well made and I’ve had no issues with it.

So I’m an avid switch player but started to get crampy hands with the tiny joy cons and really didn’t want to send them off for repair yet again, so bit the bullet and got this- and so glad I did! Feels really sturdy, the battery is insane, and it has features like amiibo scanning and vibration. I’ve tried the cheap power A ones and they just don’t compare. The nintendo switch pro controller feels like a premium controller-similar to the Xbox controller. It connects to your switch very fast and when your switch is docked and connected to the TV its gives for a more immersive gaming experience.
Excellent controller, great ergonomics – unfortunately I’m still the same rubbish gamer!
The pad is solid, well built and comfortable to hold. However, the rumble feature is a lot subtler than it is on the usual Switch controllers. It’s a little disappointing that the pad falls down in this area, as there are plenty of decent third party controllers that people will swerve because they don’t have the HD rumble.
Firstly, the battery alone lasts for days (at least, I’ve not charged it yet).
Secondly this is great for people like me who don’t need the mobility of the console and want to use it with a TV and a nice comfortable controller. Also saves on neck/arm pain from mobile use of the switch.
Very glad I bought this, made the switch 10x more enjoyable to play.

Epic battery life for a wireless games controller and large enough for adult hands unlike joy cons. Trouble is the kids prefer the pro controller too (8 and 6yo) so it starts getting expensive!
Only 4 stars due to the cost, this is the matt black version not a limited edition which I see have even sillier price points.
The Joy-Cons that the Nintendo Switch console ships with are the best tools for playing some games and an inspired idea for playing the portable console while out and about, but they have some major limitations that make them less than ideal for certain contexts. The Pro Controller is, in my opinion, near essential for extended play of games that don’t benefit much from Joy Con features, like Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing. It’s much more comfortable than Joy Cons, even when they are put together in a grip, and the larger buttons are much easier to use, especially for those with larger hands.
That is not to say that the Pro Controller does not have some limitations of its own. The rumble isn’t as impressive as in the Joy-Con and some of the gyro controls aren’t as accurate as they need to be. This becomes an issue in games like Mario Adyssey, where gyro controls are needed to perform all the actions available in the game.
I would also rank the Pro Controller as not quite as comfortable to use as either the DualShock 4 or latest Xbox controller (I’ve yet to use a DualSense, though I’ve heard it’s practically in a class of its own). The buttons feel that little bit mushier on the Pro Controller and the handles don’t quite fit the hand as well. These are basically nitpicks though and only really relevant to PC players trying to decide which controller is best for them.
I’d highly recommend the Pro Controller to any and all Switch players. It’s a fine Bluetooth controller for other systems, but I personally think there are better options for PC and mobile.

Very well made, comfortable in the hand and in use. Charge lasts for a decent amount of time looks great and will last you a long time. I have 4 of these now and Mariokart with the missus and kids has been improved 100%

I got it cheaper during black friday. The controller is brilliant and feels really premium, the battery lasts forever with single charge. However the XYAB buttons feels a bit mushy even the triggers. But overall very happy
The controller itself is excellent and very well made. However, as a woman with smaller hands, it caused me quite a lot of pain trying to stretch them to use it. I gave it to my boyfriend and he hasn’t had a problem.
I was very nervous for the product to arrive because there’re so many reviews claiming its counterfeit. But thankfully I got an authentic product with english writing and the nintendo seal of approval sold and dispatched by amazon. Especially since I live in the middle east and the return process can be difficult (but I’ve heard they don’t ask for the product back a lot of the time). The only reason I gave 4 stars is because, this quality product especially for this kind of money should definitely come in few colours. I was looking for my 7 yo son for great controller,with Mario on it or any other characters from supermario. There is plenty on the market but they are not too quality. So in order to have a top controller for the switch u need to settle for boring black! Remember most Nintendo fans are kids and I’m sure they would love to see they favourite characters from the games they dearly love. Other than this I have no complaints.
I bought this as a 2nd controller for my son’s nintendo switch, so now his sister can play with him too once its hooked up to the TV. Its comfortable and no complaints yet! dont think there will be any, dont see why there would. If you need another controller then this is the one for you
Like the title says, I consider this an essential purchase for Switch owners. Way better than the Joycon, it’s a more responsive and comfortable controller for long term play. Well build and sturdy, you really can’t go wrong. Sure it’s a little more expensive than 3rd party units but it’s genuinely worth the extra cash. I’ve bought 2 over the life of my Switch and don’t regret it. If you’re planning to play in docked mode a lot, I’d seriously consider making this your primary controller.

Pretty damn pricy but really nice. I’ve had this controller for just over 2 years now and has only recently shown signs of wear, the D-pad sounds a little squeaky but is unnoticeable when playing a game with a headset on. It has seen alot of use, I used it for alot of Hades, Guilty Gear Strive, Persona 4 Golden, Various platformers, Animal crossing and all the games on my pc that are better played with a controller.
No signs of drift after 2 years of heavy use.
Really premium feeling product with a pretty good battery life, way more than the Dualshock 4 controller.
I will definitely buy again should my one of 2 years ever fail on me but i will probably look elsewhere for a cheaper listing for the same item.

When I first got this controller, I wasn’t sure about it as it felt slow but then I realised my fingers were so used to the joy con stick being low that it was playing a game with my brain. After 40 minutes, it felt right and natural to play with this. Now I do want to use anyhting else

Pretty much essential if your planning on playing competitive games. The buttons are smooth to press and large enough to not slip away. I used to think the 360 controller was the pinnacle of form and function untill I grabbed one of these.
Got this for my son for his birthday, as he was looking it to use it with his Nintendo switch. Don’t know good it is myself, as I don’t use it. But my son n loves it. He said he uses it to play mario carts and it’s really good. As long as he’s happy – I’m happy with this purchase

I am not a console gamer usually, but since getting the pro controller I’ve played almost 100 hours on Skyrim in a few weeks. It is nice and weighty, but not too heavy. The buttons are in a much better position than the normal switch controllers, and are much nicer to use for larger hands. It was really easy to connect. The only negative is the price.

The battery lasts for long enough for it to be considered witch craft, we use this thing ALOT and have only had to charge it a hand-full of times, i dont know if its a bigger battery or just more efficient but this is by far the longest lasting wireless controller ive ever used and ive owned every major console for the last 15 years!

As a PlayStation gamer since the early 2000s I found the Switch pro controller to be absolutely brilliant. Although it is similar in design and layout to an Xbox controller, the feel of the buttons and the shape of the controller in your hand is great. I would highly recommend for games like Zelda – using the controller has changed the entire experience for me.
This controller has amazing battery life and makes gaming a lot more comfortable on the switch. It also has very nice build quality, feels solid. My only issue is that the analog sticks make a loud clicking sound whenever i move them around, seems to not effect the performance however.
Surprised and very impressed with this controller. Usually, Nintendo controllers get a bad rap recently especially with the joy con drift.
My advice? Buy this controller! Why? The battery life is great, the feel and quality is classy. Honestly, it’s a better controller than the Playstation 4 and Xbox One in my opinion.
My only negative is that some games require the joy cons only so be prepared to be disappointed when you can’t use this controller for certain games. Honestly, when you move back to joy cons you’ll miss this controller. Then again this is not the controller’s fault as it’s down to developers to support this controller more.
Please avoid the knock offs because having tried them you’re going to find yourself out of pocket and needing to buy a replacement. This controller holds up well for even the most hard core time consuming gamer.
I did some mad research for Switch controllers and what people are saying is right – you pay for what you get, and that 10 or so more is so worth it with this controller. Makes TV games way better to play and if you’re a sucker for Hades like I am, you’re in for a world of fun 😉
I have been using the Joycons for two years+ now and I mut say that switching back to an actual controller has been amazing, the battery lasts forever (only had to charge it three times including the initial charge upon delivery in 75+ hours I think), the grip is great and the controller is really responsive. Might not be a must depending on what you play but it makes a massive difference if you play fast-paced games (DOOM and Smash Bros Ultimate in my case are a lot smoother to play with this, for instance).
Purchased this controller as part of a bundle , with an AmazonBasics charger for this controller, as a Christmas present for a friends 10 year old grandson. Both parts of the bundle, were well packed, not vast amounts of packing, but enough to keep both parts of bundle safe. Just as well, as a man in a white van, delivering on behalf of Amazon, decided to drop the , package, over a 5 1/2 foot high side gate. Lucky enough both parts survived, and worked fine on Christmas day. Once opened, my friends grandson had it charged up, and connected up, to his new Nintendo Switch Pro. He was then well away with his gaming. He said the controller was great, easy to connect, to easy use, as the controls fill smooth and quick to respond. He knows more about these things, than this old man . So I feel it was money well spent .
Great additional controller bought for my son at Christmas I feel they are much better to hold than the normal controllers and I would assume they enhance is playing experience as I don’t see him playing with the other ones as much. It also good because an extra player can play if playing as a family.
I’m glad that I didn’t buy one of the cheaper alternatives on the market. This device is easily as well made as the xbox one controller and comes with a rechargeable battery as standard. The device comes with a USB C cable but can also be charged presumably faster using the cable included with the switch.
The thumbsticks appear to be accurate and as someone who wants to have better control over the thumbsticks when playing docked it is a must have. This also means I can use my joycons included with the switch as a second full controller with the adapter for 2 player games. It’s also nice to have the HD rumble that I would have missed out on with other cintroklers on the market.
This controller will get some abuse playing the upcoming Monster Hunter Rise and if I encounter any issues with the product I will update this review.
I loved the feel of this controller. The buttons are so smooth and responsive. It feels comfortable to use. The quality you’d expect from Nintendo. The price is worth paying for a high quality controller. I used pro controller on Luigi’s Mansion 3 – I found it the game needed the pro controller rather than the joy-con controllers. Especially when it came to Luigi’s vacuum! I’d highly recommend buying this controller. It’s a totally didn’t feel to the PS4 & Microsoft controllers.
One or two reviews on here reporting it’s not the official Nintendo Pro controller so I was a little cautious. But I definitely received the official one. No spelling errors like one reviewer has, and Nintendo support contact info on the leaflet. Connects to the Switch easily, and turns the Switch on when you press the controller Home button. Great quality and worth getting if you play docked a lot.

This controller is 100% nintendo- I could tell just by the box alone, anyways opened it and was very well packaged. The controller itself was brand new/unused with clear wrapping on it. A nice weighty controller, toggles feel very smooth, buttons firm to the touch. As I said I’m very happy with this just waiting for it to charge can’t wait to start using it!! Side note:- this did come with an original C USB charging cable (see plugged into the controller in pics) but this is a wireless controller (just so no-one gets confused thinking it’s wired) A++
This is a decent controller that’s on a par with the XBox standard controller. It’s therefore overpriced for what it is. This is really the kind of quality Nintendo should have been aiming for with the Joy Cons, but at least they got there in the end.

Yes, it’s within the price range for controllers of this standard. It may be expensive, but you get what you pay for.
There are popular games on the Switch that support use of this controller, however not all of them do, so if you’re wanting to use this controller for a specific game then check first to see what it supports before purchasing.

Bought this to use on PC more than switch, as I only tend to use my switch when I go on holiday etc, and it works fine with automatic Steam support on Windows 10. Games still display the colour prompt for the Xbox pads, and the buttons are in a different order (Switch: YX,BA – Xbox: XY,AB) so the prompts base it on the Xbox layout, but it doesn’t matter to me.
On Steam, the ‘home’ button on the pad takes a screenshot, which is about the only difference I’ve noticed. The charging cable is considerably shorter than the cable on my old wired X360 pad, but I’m using it on Bluetooth anyway. Annoyingly, and this might be the norm with all wireless pads on PC, I just noticed that the pad has been turned on as long as my PC has, so there’s no sleep mode for PC, which is stupid, but then I suppose I am using it for a purpose other than intended.
Definitely the most expensive option, but at least the battery is rechargeable
So far this controller is really good. A lot better than using the other controllers. The only thing that you may have to look out for is with the charging cable. You will need a plug as it only comes with a usb to usb c cable. I plugged it into my PC but it wasn’t the correct current etc.
One of the things I have a problem about the Switch is the Joy Cons, and no it’s nothing to do with drifting, (which is not yet present on my Joycons at the time I was wrighting this). But the Joycons isn’t ergonomic as I liked it to be and the D-Pad on the Joycons was….Let’s just say didn’t look like a D-Pad and should just be another X, A, B, Y buttons I can see why Nintendo did this. So you could see how sceptic I would be when I was buying a Pro Controller from Nintendo and boy did it deliver. Currently my favourite controller of all time for me is the Xbox 360 controller from Microsoft but I believe that this Pro controller is very close and may be superior in some places. One thing it’s superior over is the built quality it is well built compared to the 360 controller and it’s made with semi translucent plastic and another thing it’s better, it’s the D-Pad it’s better not just comparing it from the 360 controller but Nintendo’s own Joycons as well and last thing it’s better is the thumb stick I feel it’s more Smoth, when moving the thumb stick compared to the 360 controller. Over all I will always have a soft spot for Microsoft’s 360 controller anyday but the Pro controller is very close and it’s really ergonomic I could play on this controller for days anyone who wants to buy a Pro controller will not be disappointed at all.

NFC is quite handy for Amiibos.
The battery life is VERY good, mine arrived fully charged and still has over half battery life after 21 hours playtime
The controller in general is nice to hold, its VERY similar to an Xbox controller in both shape and button layout.
Now, the issue I had is very easy to fix, it seems to be common with ‘NEW’ Switch Pro Controllers.
When I first paired it with my Switch I noticed the left stick didn’t center properly and no amount of calibration would fix it. Turns out all I had to do was hold the reset button at the top of the controller until it reconnected and that was it, now the left stick is super accurate and I have absolutely zero complaints.
I highly recommend this controller. It’s definitely massively improved my gaming experience with the Switch.
You really are just getting what you pay for with this one. It’s the most expensive controller you can get for the switch, although its not much more expensive than the official controllers for PlayStation or Xbox.
It feels most like the Xbox type controllers, and is a huge step up from the joycon control scheme. This review is coming after about a month of use, and multiple reviews say how it may start to malfunction after any period of time, from sticks drifting to flat out ceasing to work. I’ve had none of these so far, and hopefully I won’t have to update this review in any time soon, or at all for that matter.
The controller came and it did everything it was ment to however the L and R buttons didn’t respond when I pressed them lightly. Even my cheep 30 controllers don’t have this issue.

i did read most reviews on this controller and some people said its a copy of the Nintendo switch pro controller so i was a bit dubious of purchasing this one, i did and when it came i was well pleased with it. its NOT a copy its the original one i received, my box had the Nintendo seal stamped on it and the correct secret message under the right stick. works and performs fantastic, Bargain at the price of 54.99.
My son says he has better control using this on certain games. The buttons are slightly bigger so makes it more comfortable to use and better at playing.
Since buying the switch my son has since been asking for this for his next present. Was a bit dubious as price was a little expensive (what do i know…mum, ha ha. and on my budget). I bought this as one of his birthday presents. He is made up with it.
This controller is 100% Genuine, it came in a box with the Nintendo Seal on, has the Nintendo Logo on the back panel & the USB C-USB A Cable even has the Nintendo Logo on. It can be used as I Wired Controller while Charging which cheap ones can’t do. It also works perfectly & has better construction than the cheap Switch Controllers available.
I ordered it on the Sunday evening of 31/05/20 & it was expected on Wednesday 08/06/20 & it came today 02/06/20 which was a bonus.

Feels really good in the hand, much like an XBOX controller, the whole thing just feels really premium and works really well with PC or android if you have games you would like to use a controller for, I’ve been using this to play Stadia games on my PC and phone! I will say it works much better if you plug it into the usb.

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller comes with a built-in, rechargeable battery as standard! Unlike the Xbox One controllers that come with two AA batteries! Meaning, you either have to have a constant supply, or buy an additional battery/accessory!
Not only that, the feel of this controller compares well with the Xbox one controller and has, in my opinion, a far superior D-Pad.
All-in-all, if you’re looking for a comfy fit to your “too-big-for-joycon” hands, then this is perfect!
Been using it for the last couple of days and it’s absolutely great. Does the job perfectly and very sensitive to movement as well.
This is a very good controller. If the original joycon is too small for you, don’t hesitate to buy this one. It’s a bit overpriced tho…
Very good controller that makes gaming that bit more enjoyable and takes away the odd frustration you may experience on the joy cons. The Joy cons are great for most games and gaming on the go but when you have those tough gaming experiences this pro controller is the way to go. Feels good in the hand, and with an amazing battery, that gives 30+ hours of gameplay. Decent 3-6 hour charge with a useful led charge light that goes off once controller is fully charged. Great to play with, especially for the more chunky handed, or serious time dedicated gamer. It costs a bit but it’s a very good controller with just the one headphone jack exclusion as a negative. With battery and handle ability this good you can forgive that minor inconvenience.

Joy Cons are a very expansive piece of junk.
Left joy con started drifting badly, on the right joy con the sr sl buttons don’t work anymore ( which means I won’t be able to use it as a stand alone pad considering those are the buttons used to pair it with the console) and I already had to change the right one once.
This is a good standard controller.
It takes a while to charge but the battery life is great.
Not a 5 star for me, also considering it’s very expansive for what it offers, but there’s no compare to those rubbish joy con.
Decided to get a 2nd pro controller so I didn’t have to keep carrying the same one up and downstairs depending on where I play my switch and this did the job perfectly
If you don’t already have a pro controller I would highly recommend getting one as they make your life so much easier when playing in TV mode the buttons are in a better position compared to the joycon controller and it’s a LOT more comftable it’s like night and day! You won’t regret it

I had original bought a cheaper controller from a third party, the battery life was poor with only 6 hours and after an hour of playing there was discomfort.
I decided to spend on the official Pro Controller, and it was definitely worth it, the controller was much easier to pair, simply plugging in the controller to the Switch hub and it paired instantly upon turnning on, vs going into controller settings, which took a while on the previous controller.
This controller even just after unboxing had a much more premium feel and look, and the battery life is 40 hours, that’s over 6 times longer! After several hours of gameplay there was no discomfort.
I highly recommend spending a bit more for this official version than going the cheaper route on one half the price.
Leaving the below for posterity – Switch update 10.0.2 fixed the drift on both new pads that were sent to me.

Ordered one of this as my old Splatoon 2 one was excellent. First one arrived had drift on the left stick that calibration couldn’t fix. Replacement one had drift in the exact same direction. Just checked the most recent reviews and see that a few people have had the same issue. The pad itself is excellent, if it works, but clearly a bad batch has made it into the system.
The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is, in my opinion, the best controller for the Nintendo Switch. Having purchased a stand, I am able to use the controller with my Nintendo Switch Lite, which lacks rumble features. The HD Rumble provided by this controller is excellent, by far my favourite feature of the controller. The controller also feels great to hold and the buttons are large, which is a nice change from what I’m used to on the actual console. I recommend this to all Nintendo Switch owners. Unfortunately, the controller sent by Amazon was slightly defective, however Nintendo was able to provide a free on-warranty repair, so this isn’t a problem.
I don’t always agree with the ‘buy cheap, buy twice’ adage but it’s so true in this case!
What a fantastic controller. Feels good in the hands and perfectly responsive. I bought a cheaper controller, half the price – it was awful so returned and bought the Nintendo pro. It’s a big step up in cost but so worth it, you will not be disappointed.
I just received this controller today and I’m really impressed with it. It is very comfortable to use and feels so much better than using the Joy Cons (either attached to the Switch itself or with using the attachment that came with the console) The buttons are really easy to press and access, they are positioned in a way that is comfortable on your hand. It is a nice weight to hold, not too heavy but not too light either.
I know it may seem overpriced but it really is worth it, I’m not regretting my purchase as it is making my gameplay so much more enjoyable – yes it really is that good!
Overall i’d recommend any Switch owner to invest in this controller as it is an excellent addition to the console and really makes a difference to gameplay.

The controller itself is superb quality. Expensive, but when you open it/use it, you will understand why it costs more than a ps4/xbox controller. Nintendo has alway been in a class of its own. More importantly-Amazon displayed customer service which deserves mention and praise. The item was not delivered by Friday and this was a gift for a birthday on Sunday. On speaking to customer services – delivery was accelerated and i managed to receive it in time. Such customer service does not go unnoticed and avoided disappointment for the recipient on their birthday.
Love this purchase. So glad I bought it as it is much more comfy to hold than the joy cons especially when u play for a long period of time. Battery life is also very good love the fact it charges via micro usb C
