Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy idea for getting such a pair of glasses is to record me making math lectures — mathematics — from the comfort of my bed. Imagine simply grabbing a notepad and jotting down a lecture without having to get up and sit at a desk and get everything hooked up. The further wonderful idea is to be able to film computer and calculator interactions seamlessly — what I see, students later see. If a resource is a written, physical book no problem. To some degree all of these goals are sort of met.

The central problem is to know you are recording and what you are recording. The real ideal would be to have a TV (say attached to a wall in front of your bed) playing what you are recording. This might be possible using OBS and these glasses as a webcam — something they definitely are able to do. The right computer (one with a HD port) might be able to put your laptop on such an external monitor.; so, that might, if you have good peripheral vision, allow this idea to be realized to good avail.

When away from the bed, a little red light embedded in the glasses themselves would be a clear indication you are recording. As it is the remoteness of the left temple blinking light is too much of a stretch for normal peripheral vision.

The other big problem is there is no autofocus feature. You can read something, a physical book, and it will not necessarily be in crystal clear focus. Also it can be jittery. The real wild idea is to have a zoom feature that you can control with — say — a remote. Speaking of remotes, a remote could have a focus button on it that would solve problems — especially with a TV monitor that shows what’s happening, what’s being recorded. A digital camera, like a CANON Elph with video capabilities does have these features, albeit the size goes up a lot. The ideal, IMHO, is to have a remote that somehow houses the electronics needed and allows for all such video recording and camera features — a play, fast forward, reverse, pause buttons, as well as focus and zoom.

Really pushing the technological envelope, imagine the glasses double as VR goggles; you can do a playback and see the recordings.

These glasses from a computer science/cognitive science perspective presage a revolution: imagine what you see and hear is fed into a central database, it’s processed, and helpful life hints are played back in your eyes and ears at the right moment. It would be evolutionary — cf. Borg episodes in the Star Trek series. Is this coming to a theater near you (very) soon!

The video quality is very good, photos good quality.
The glasses are good quality also…
    Now the bad part:
Streaming on the phone works but I can’t see, access or delete my recordings using the phone app, as mentioned in the description.
You can do that using the usb cable included.
Maybe is a problem with the app, or something wrong with my pair of glasses.

Considering the price, these are a decent pair of video sunglasses. The audio and video quality is pretty good considering the camera is built into a pair of sunglasses. It’s nice that the files are stored on a removable mini SD card, making it easy to upload the files to a computer with an SD card drive, or adapter. They aren’t too heavy and don’t feel awkward wearing them. Yes, they are a thicker frame than other glasses, but it would be impossible not to. have that. Being able to record hand free a more bulky frame is a small price. The one downside is that you may not realize the battery is running low while filming. Other than that, these are a cool pair of video glasses.

I say nice because I’m not sure if it’s a flaw or a firmware update or what. The glasses are easy to use, lightweight and do a great job of capturing video. On my set, there seemed to be a yellow tinge in the middle and I don’t think the glasses emit any sort of light. Maybe the image sensor is flawed in some way? All in all, a good product with a minor visual flaw. Captures great jogging around footage as well as martial arts maneuvers. Nobody would know you’re recording them, and a park mugging would be instantly solved for the local law enforcement authorities.

These video sunglasses are cool. By “cool,” I’m referring more so to the technology than the fashion. By necessity, the sunglasses’ frame is fairly thick to support the mini video cam in the bridge and wiring in the temple. I wouldn’t normally wear frames this thick, but these aren’t horrible due to the upside of their video capabilities.

It only took about an hour for me to fully charge these glasses on my first use of them. I didn’t realize that they came with an SD card, so I bought one. As I tried to install the card in the sunglasses, I realized there was already a card in there. Once they were all charged up, I took a stab at recording my first video.

The record button is an on/off toggle. The recording indicator light is inside the left temple. That presented my first and only real problem with these video sunglasses: I can rarely determine when it’s recording or when I’ve stopped a recording. The indicator is a bit easier to see when I’m looking for it indoors under low light. When I’m using them outdoors in the sunlight it’s been virtually impossible for me to get my recordings right.

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wore these video sunglasses to a surprise graduation drive-by celebration. I pressed the record button and started to roll the video — or so I thought. I missed almost 90% of the event thinking I was recording when I wasn’t. On the plus side, the video I did capture was colorful and crystal clear. The audio could be better, but considering that it’s coming in through a tiny camera in these glasses, I think it’s acceptable.

One other thing about this camera that takes some getting used to is the conscious effort it takes me to aim it correctly. I have a tendency to capture video that frames my subject a little lower than I want. Practice helps that, though. The camera battery holds a charge for at least an hour.

Connecting the sunglasses to my computer to upload the video is a snap.

For those of you keeping score, here’s the breakdown:

    Construction- A-
    Design- B
    Comfort- B+
    Ease of Use- B-
    Video Quality- A-
    Audio Quality- B
    Value- B+

    Overall Grade:B+

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersListen, I just received these glasses today and I am blown away! They are truly worth the money I paid and more. The video is definitely 1080p quality and the audio is pretty good. It’s easy to figure and use, especially with the one page instructions. I never do a same day review because I like to see how products work out first, but I had come back and write a review after my initial experience, I was that impressed. If anything changes for the bad, I’ll make sure that I come back and do an update, but if you don’t hear anything else from me it’s because I’m out using and enjoying these bad boys too much! Oh yeah, and they are just as stylish in person as they look on the product page. You really could never tell they were camera specs. I think I may buy more because these are just too good not to share. Anyway, yeah buy them!!

My grandson “scouts” locations for pictures he’ll be taking combining natural settings with commercial products. He loves these glasses, as he can snap pictures of what he sees very quickly, especially when he wants multiple pictures or a video of a particular location. He finds it easier to use these glasses than to use his cell phone, as he can react more quickly. These would make a great gift for anyone who loves the newest “gadgets” – that work!

These OHO Video Sunglasses are pretty cool. They work! Without too much difficulty I had them up and running. I used them for my walk through the woods and it was pretty cool. You can turn them on and off as needed and store the footage on a mini-card. The video quality isn’t bad and I was able to get some deer caught on the footage during my walk. I like them and can think of some various possibilities for using them.

No matter how you cut it, these are a gadget. They can be handy to have for times when your hands are full or you don’t want to be encumbered with a larger, more complex camera. They are also fairly unobstrusive and if you do something rude, like mask the flashing red recording light, you can be sneaky.

The 1920 x 1080 image is better than I expected, though nowhere near the quality of a recent GoPro. In low light, they are essentially useless which is to be expected of anything with small sensor. You need lots of light to get a reasonably decent image.

Angle of view is somewhat restrictive and inflexible, but usable.

Sound quality is poor and with the slightest bit of wind noise, you’re out of business.

I found the frames somewhat small and they could become irritating after a while. Construction is okay, but be careful handling these.

Battery runs down pretty quick, half an hour or a little more. Charging takes a few hours.

They say the lenses can be replaced with prescription lenses, which is something I might consider if I really start using these more.

On the whole, they’re a gadget at best, but a fun one.

They hold well on the nose, but do slip some. I use for biking, and when I look down, I have to adjust every 3-4 times.

Quality of video is acceptable, as is the audio…good, not great.

Pretty simple to use once you read the 2-3 instruction.

A little heavy on the nose…for those who don’t regularly wear glasses, you’ll have nose marks for 2-3 hours.

hard to imagine they can pack all this technology into sunglasses, but they do…
image quality is good all things considered…
u get sooo much for your money, its amazing…
    includes the memory card…
so far, i have not exceeded the cards capacity…
all works, charges fast… hard to find a flaw with these….
NOw they even have 4k sunglasses!! wow…
if you need surveillance, this is how best to do it for sure…

It is like having a dash cam for your head.

They work well. You can take pics or video. There are only two buttons – could not be easier to use.

Mine came with a 32GB MicroSD card, pretty nice.

The glasses are comfortable and come with polarized and clear lenses. As sunglasses, they work pretty well.

The video and pic quality is very good. The sound quality is also pretty good. You do get a little wind noise if used outside but it is not an issue.

These video glasses work well for those situations where people act differently when they see the phone/camera come out. They are very non-intrusive and stealthy.

Nifty sunglasses with a hidden camera in the middle. That little camera circle in between the lenses looks like part of these sunglasses’ design and mixed brown color. So, very incognito. As are its Power and Camera click buttons on the left hinge. My kids love these. They can’t tell exactly what they’re video-recording. By wearing these glasses, you just have to gauge that what you’re seeing is what the camera in between both lenses is recording. There’s no way of knowing what the clarity or quality is until you take out the micro-SD card and pop it into your computer to watch the videos. Both clarity & quality are ok. If the wearer isn’t moving much while recording, then both look better. These sunglasses fit a little tighter on me than my older teens.

    Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe only complaint I have of these is that they are conspicuous. Someone knows you have on video sunglasses. I wanted these for documenting life during hard times. For example, empty store shelves, etc .

These are very easy to use. Mine came with no instructions, but you don’t need them. This is very intuitive. There are two buttons. One for video recording, and one for picture recording.

To turn these on, press and hold the video record button until the little red LED inside the left frame piece comes on solid. To record a video, press the video button once quick, and you will see the red video light flashing while this is recording. To record a photo, press the button with a camera on it one, and you will get one blink when these glasses take the video. It all works flawlessly.

To turn off these glasses, press and hold the video record button until the LED goes out. simple.

    summary
These are easy to use and take good quality video inside on a cloudy day. Pictures are a little grainy indoor. I can live with this, because video is actually the feature I wanted. I was not anticipating taking photos with these.

By the way, the reason I took one star off the review is because these are totally conspicuous They don’t look like any sunglasses I would every wear. Good enough for walking around a mall or store, but nothing you would want to use inconspicuously for interviews..

I hope you find this review helpful!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my first experience with eyewear that is capable of recording videos, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. At $70 (as of 2020-03-23), I braced myself for disappointment and underwhelming quality. In reality, the quality of both the video and audio turned out to be way better than I thought.

As expected, however, any photos and videos you take in low-light situations will be very grainy and contain lots of noise. To be fair, the manufacturer did say that those functions work best in bright light so take that into consideration before buying this.

The manual goes over most of the important stuff but it failed to address two things – how to swap out the lens and how to change the time & date. To get my questions answered, I had to read through the Q&A section. This kind of information should’ve been included in the manual.

Overall, I’m enjoying using this nifty gadget and it’ll come in real handy to capture moments when my hands are tied up.
    _____
    *Pros:
    -Light and comfortable to wear.
-MicroSD support for easy transfer to other devices such as PCs and smartphones.
-Very decent video & audio recording capability.
    -Easy to operate.
-Comes with two pairs of lenses.
    _____
    *Cons:
-Why not use the more common microUSB port?
-Time & date were set wrong out of the box. There were no instructions to change them in the manual.
-There were no instructions showing how to swap out the lenses.

    Exceeded my expectations

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersI was skeptical before buying these glasses. I have an action camera and it was bulky for my bike helmet. I wanted the video for safety and vbloging. This product surpassed my expectation in every way, video quality, ease of use, battery life and basic sunglasses,

The only issue I have is to change the time stamp of video files. they all are in 2015. Tried to overwrite but no success.

Wish: There was a bluetooth connection to phone for remote operations.

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersI bought the glasses just in case to have some evidence if unfortunate things should happen while I am out and about. These glasses have a glossy plastic frame which conceals the camera rather well (most other glasses I checked don’t do that). Moreover, the glasses have a bit of a “cheap” beach-bought look, which is good for my use case and does not make me a target. Lots of other glasses are too fancy for my taste and may draw the attention of robbers.

The video quality of the camera is okay, nothing to brag about but sufficient. So is the audio. The camera angle is not wide and a bit upward oriented, so you will not be filming what is exactly in the middle of your view. For evidence purposes it is more than sufficient and can be transferred via USB cable or the mem card onto a computer. There is also a button to take photos. I missed some easy way to time stamp the videos though.

The camera comes with a 16GB Mini-SD-card, which can be replaced (camera can use memory cards up to 32 GB), The insertion mechanism is a bit small and soon developed a damage. I would advise not to take out the card too often. Nonetheless, the company was very helpful and refunded the price after some proceedings, so I bought the same glasses again.

When recording there is a little red light blinking on the left inner side of the frame. Especially in darker environments this light may be visible for other people, which is sub optimal and may make them suspicious. Definitely a thing which could be improved upon with further iterations. Same goes for the buttons. They are okay and easy to use, nonetheless, I would prefer something more thought out and even easier to use, like a simply on-off switch and a button for quick recording. The batteries provide energy for about an hour of filming, I would estimate. I haven’t checked precisely though.

Overall, the quality of the glasses is okay, about what you would expect. For my purpose they are the best and there is not much competition regarding my use case. I do recommend the glasses so far. They leave room for improvement though.

Gave to my hubby as a birthday gift. He has not used them yet, but he likes it.
