There are no aspects of fault with this bag, JUST ensure you select the right size ie S,M,L etc

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWanted a pack for longer hikes with room but compact. The Talon 33 fit the bill perfectly. The Airscape system allows air to your back to you don’t get too sweaty. Hip straps very comfortable and both them and shoulder straps fully adjustable. I didn’t know what the stow as you go system was when I bought it but when I discovered it – it’s awesome. I don’t use poles all the time on a hike so being able to put them away without taking the pack off is so useful. Hip and shoulder pockets are decent to have quick to access small items like snacks, garmin, phone etc. Also fits a 2.5L hydration bladder perfectly with a clasp to hold it in position.

Just did a 2 day, very steep, hike in Greece with this carrying everything I needed for the trip. I did use compression packing cubes to save space but everything fit and the pack was very comfortable throughout.

It’s not cheap in the slightest. But to be honest it’s worth the money for comfort and design. You do get what you pay for.

One warning – there is no raincover – it’s sold seperately and have to pack it in the bag. Other, cheaper, bags include one tucked away in a base pocket. I’d drop a half a star for that but it’s all or nothing with Amazon.

Overall it’s an excellent backpack and I’m going to get the 22L one for shorter hikes too. The raincover I bought separately will be used for both.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis back pack is great for lengthy or short day hikes.
Easily holds what’s required, warmkit, waterproofs, food, water and first aid etc
It has a specific place for a water bladder, I use 1.5 litre but it could fit a 2 litre bladder.
Comfort and weight of the pack is second to none. The materials are strong and even though the dainty appearance of the strap and buckles may look like they could break easily this is not the case, even the mesh pockets are of good quality and strength.
The price tag may seem steep to some but this is well worth the price and is my go to rucksack for hiking now!

    Best backpack I've had.

Bought my first Osprey rucksack for Search and Rescue duties and am very pleased with it. 35litre is good size for all the kit without being too big.

    Everything is a great design.
Space, access, great comfort, pole storage, all brilliant. Spend a bit more you won’t regret it.

Good size , plenty pockets , easily adjusted to suit , very comfortable pack, do not understand why it’s not waterproof, I bought the lightweight 33l rollsack , for inside the pack to keep my kit dry , I feel this should come as standard, as I don’t like the waterproof cover.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been very impressed so far with the build quality, comfort and attention to detail of Osprey rucksacks, and in particular their Talon range. The back system is very comfortable and manages to strike a good line between ventilation and a close secure fit when scrambling. The mess side pockets easily accommodate a 1L nalgene bottle, and the mesh front pocket a laminated OS map. The top pocket is also a good size for a small first aid kit, hats & gloves. There is also climbing rope compressor under the lid. The materisls feel pretty sturdy, although I probsbly won’t use the sack for climbing given the large areas of mesh on the outside which could easily get snagged. For general hillwalking, hiking and scrambling this sack is hard to fault.

This new version of the Talon 33 is simply superb. It fits so well and is so well balanced that it really is possible to forget that you are wearing it. This strikes a perfect balance between capacity and weight. You can carry a fantastic amount of stuff or not very much depending on the type of hike you are undertaking.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve been into hiking over the past years but real gotten into it more since the beginning of lockdown. Started with a few cheaper no brand bags as I could never justify paying over 50 for a backpack. I then upgraded to a 20 Berghaus bag which I loved, but started to get a little uncomfortable during the Summer & if I hiked long distances. I finally decided to invest in one of these & boy it was worth it. Build quality is second to none. The comfort, although it took a little fiddling around with all the different straps & adjustments to get it just right for me, is perfect. I’ve since hiked all of the Lakes, Snowdonia & planning on the Scottish Highlands next & don’t know what I’d do without this!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLove be it, have the old 22 version, this one is better as it’s almost same size for the main compartment top to bottom.
The new straps are more comfortable, I am yet to find any backpack, other than a trampoline style back, where my back doesn’t sweat, al I can say is this one if comfortable, for me comfort is more important.
I think I will avoid using a bladder, reasons, it impedes space in the main compartment, where as the side pouches less so, plus on a hot day a cold bladder is nice until you warm up the contents with your hot back.
I’m yet to use the in earnest, ie fully ladened but so far I’m very impressed, really nice quality built, love the fact this is a larger fit than the old versions, about time!
Best bits are the large hip pockets and the comfortable straps.
And yes the lifetime guarantee is invaluable and I used it no issue on the last pack for a emplacement buckle.
May be back for an updated review but so far give it 5 stars.

Really impressed after a couple of uses in hot weather, very useful features like the stretch pockets for drinks on the side and the stretch pocket on the back. Very comfortable to wear although it does help to keep your back from sweating it’s not as good as the ones that sit off your back completely.

Very light rucksack. I bought for my wife, she’s tall and it’s light and comfortable. Lighter than my Alpine Lowe bag of same size. Osprey make good quality products but could have included a rain cover given price. Product arrived quickly as expected.

This is a replacement. Perfect size for overhead plane locker for adventure trips abroad. Great fastening for winter Express. The bladder doesn’t take up any room inside when fitted. Good wieght distribution and can take a fair bit of punishment. I only changed mine because it looked like it had been to war and back.
    One disadvantage no rain cover
Overall great back well worth the money

    Pros
There is much to like about this pack, it is lightweight, slim, and very comfortable. As it is adjustable, it is worth taking the time to measure your back and get it set correctly.

    Con(ish)
The pack is not waterproof and there is no rain cover. This is easily solved by buying a separate rain cover and stashing it in the top pocket.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove the brand. Had the same model from about 7 years ago. New version is lighter but finer details and some signs of quality dropped. Probably for cost saving. Bit of a shame as it’s the finer details for me that make it stand out. Still a nice backpack but cost should reduce if quality reduced really.

As expected from Osprey a Great Rucksack for day hikes, loads of room for a pack of this size and really light wight. Like the well though out design of pockets for phone etc on waistband.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNot used this in anger yet but a few people I know who know these things recommended Osprey and for my purposes, this particular model.

It appears to have sufficient pockets and attachment points to allow you to carry a variety of things including your trekking poles, camelbak, mobile phone, maps… – the list goes on.

It looks perfect of going on long walks and far better than using my current laptop type backpack which hurts the shoulders after a few miles.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis has been a great purchase. The numerous pockets and straps allows for versatile packing options. It is cool to wear even in hot weather. It was not as suitable for my wife in how it sat but it has been great for me: the adjustable back means even at 1.95m it is a comfortable fit with good weight distribution.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersNeeded a new rucksack for a Kili expedition, and I was very picky. After a lot of research and visits, I settled on the Osprey Talon and was not disappointed. Very comfortable, easily adjusted, and lightweight, all essential to serious hikes. My only complaint is that the cords and straps are a bit “stringy” if that makes sense in that they snag on things instead of being tight and flush to the rucksack like other brands. But all in all, there is no better brand than Osprey when you need to pack your life with you for an adventure. Made a successful summit, now on to the next adventure!

So decided to buy a quality one and so glad I did, as the quality is superb
