Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA great microwave, a few weeks in, looks and feels a quality product. It lacks two useful features…
    1. A full power quick start button
    2. A 800w setting. 1000w is great but most packs show 900/800w and the product features several lower settings but jumps from 1000 to 600w.

    I’d still recommend buying it!

We are quite happy with the Panasonic Microwave Oven, now that we’ve had it for a month. It is a bit bigger than our last one, always nice, and very quiet when operating.
The defrost feature, called “Chaos defrost” doesn’t seem to be different than any previous microwave defrost. It will still cook some of the defrosting items, but it works fine.
    We’re happy with our purchase.

At 1000 watts it’s hard to work out the timings. Too easy to over cook items. I mainly use the 600 watt setting and up the timing a bit from my old 850 watt microwave.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this after a lot of research. I just needed microwave to do the basics. It is the perfect size and although the options look difficult it is really easy to use. It has a special programme to clean itself. There were cheaper options but this is sturdy and great value.

As yet haven’t been able to use it. Thought it was good value for money and I’m looking forward to using it when I can get hold of the appropriate glass plate. It looks good on my work top and exactly what I wanted size wise. Contacted Amazon and got no response. Also contacted Panasonic said they would send me the product number to enable to buy another one but as yet, a week later, no response. Would really like to use the microwave but can’t comment on it working as yet.

I’ve always been a Samsung fan but when the rotary dials on my microwave failed I opted for a Panasonic. I’m glad I did, it’s very quiet, has a good instruction book, uncomplicated to use, variable settings up to 1000w (adjust your cooking times down). The only thing that I’m not overjoyed about is the shiny silver is very easy to mark with your fingers but it is easy to clean. I hope it lasts the 9 years that the Samsung did.

We bought this microwave to replace a previous Panasonic that had finally seen better days after 15 years. It is slightly smaller than our previous one but more powerful 1000 watt as opposed to 900. It is also quieter and has the cleaning function but the icing on the cake was Amazon stating delivery on September 2nd and it arrived on September 1s

I have had this microwave for 6 weeks and so far it has been excellent. It looks good. I felt this was the best mid-range microwave I could find.
My biggest problem was allowing enough height clearance above the microwave. It’s under a wall cabinet with about 15cm clearance, and I’ve positioned it so that there’s space round about it for air circulation.

The 1000W setting needs the timing of lower wattages to be decreased which is a bit awkward but do-able. The next lower setting is 600W so the reverse is needed, again an irritation as frozen foods tend to require wattages between these. But overall I’m delighted with this microwave.

Considering this is 1000w, it is quiet.

Only complaint is you do have to select a power level before it will let you input a time, and considering the power level goes from 1000 to 660w, then 300 and 200w, which I thought there’d be more individual stepdowns for like 850w/750w, bit of a pointless exercise selecting power level as I always end up using 1000w anyway.

We’ve had Panasonic microwaves for years now and they’ve all been decent. Our last one needed replacing after a water leak above the kitchen caused a flood which rendered the microwave unsafe to use, so it was time to get a new one, and we plumped for Panasonic again.

This is a nice looking microwave and has a decent internal capacity. You program the timer via a dial which is really easy to use, and it pops in and out so doesn’t always stand proud of the front of the microwave. Each time you use it you have to press a button to set the power level, twiddle the dial, then press Start, and that’s about it. In use it is much quieter than our old one, although the turntable does squeak and creak quite a bit.

The only issue is that unlike any other microwave we’ve had in the past, it generates an awful lot of condensation, especially when you’re cooking something like a baked potato – while it is cooking there are drips of water on the worktop under the door, and when you open it a cloud of steam pours out and the whole interior is wet, so you have to wipe it down after each use. I’ve never seen a microwave generate condensation like this before.

All in all, condensation and creaky turntable aside, it’s a nice microwave.

My only complaint is that the timer will not allow you to set a time between 1.50 and two minutes, annoying because heating a hot chocolate tends to fall between the two times.

This was bought for heating our large microwave kiln. The Inverter gives continual power at the level selected, not the full power on then off like conventional microwave ovens, making it great for glass fusing. Complete 6mm depth melts achieved in 20mins, my previous microwave took 50mins and has now been demoted to heating beans. It is also so much quieter than my previous machine, I am very pleased with our purchase and a great cost!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOur old Bosch microwave had been burning food- literally lighting it on fire–which is impressive given the food was still cold in parts after that… Fed up with it and then thinking it might actually burn our house down, we decided to try a different brand. Also, the Bosch beeped beyond what was humanly acceptable when it finished, which incidentally it kept sounding like it was cooking even after the time was up…faulty? Part of the design? No idea but enough was enough.

I’ve always had good experience with Sharp microwaves but they are just so darn ugly, hence Panasonic was our next option.

This model looked pretty sleek. I liked that it has a cleaning option and am looking forward to trying it to see if it is a gimmick or not.

So the positives about this microwave:

Even cooking. I mean the Bosch is laughable by comparison. It cooks faster in a short amount of time.

Stylish. It’s grey on the inside, I really like this. I like the finish of it overall, but the only part that’s stainless steel is the door and the operations panel. Perhaps a good thing since stainless can be difficult to clean.

    The not so positives:
Yes it’s lightweight, so much so the thing slides when you press the button. Not a problem if you have a flat wall, but it’s a problem if you don’t, like ours; so a piece of rubber/silicon will stop it.

The inner roof isn’t flat. So whether that becomes a pain to clean remains to be seen, depends how good self clean feature is.

We’ve gotten used to its 3 step process that is: click the wattage buttons, turn the knob and hit start but some will prefer less steps to completion.

I had hoped for a flatbed but just couldn’t hit add to cart on the ugly Sharp microwave; shallow I know.

So I’m not sure I’m telling you anything new, but we like it and what’s more, it doesn’t beep more than 5 beeps at the end of cooking; that alone is worth it.

The Panasonic inverter microwave is easy to use and quieter when operating than your conventional cheaper microwave models. More importantly the extract ventilation is good and from what I can observe the cooking appears evenly done resulting in very little condensation, if any, that requires wiping from teh microwave interanl surfaces. Very satisfied with the product after 2 months of daily use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe wheel for setting the time is poor quality. Pity that the time cannot be set to 5sec intervals – only in chunks of 10sec. Although power is 1000w, it does not heat food and drinks as well as my previous microwave – I have to add an extra 10sec or more to ensure the right level of cooking and hotness. The stainless steel microwave looks good.

My last microwave was also a Panasonic which lasted about 15 years before giving up the ghost. This one is slightly smaller than that one but more powerful and also quieter, which is a bonus. Big enough to hold large dinner plate
    Nice stainless steel finish.

    Cooks really evenly.

    Cons:
You have to stand right in front of it to see the display (can’t read the display otherwise)
    Labels aren’t very prominent
Nice design, but odd how the material covering the magnatron looks like a sticky label rather then blending with the rest of the interior.
The LED internal light is good, but it doesn’t illuminate the whole of the intereor, just the front part (because the led is at the front rather than in the middle.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersWhen it comes to microwaves, Panasonic is the clear leader. This model in particular comes with a range of settings and modes which the majority of users will never need, but upon testing a range of them, it’s clear that the designers have put a great deal of thought and engineering prowess into each.
With a large number of competing products on the market, manufacturers have become desperate to add on differentiating gimmicks to stand out, often at the expense of core usability. Not so here! Popping something for a reheat, defrost or quick cook is simple and intuitive, and heating is even, thorough and fast.

The available cleaning mode is surprisingly effective at removing odours, and on the whole this is a very easy machine to clean.

The build quality is excellent, and I can see my microwave lasting me for many more years – which makes this great value for money.

Golden Review Award: 154 From Our UsersThis is a solid Microwave that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend; as far as its basic duties go (i.e. cooking stuff) it does a really nice job. The design philosophy (if such a word is appropriate to describe the principles of microwave construction) tends towards simplicity, which I appreciate. It does the things that you need well and is generally intuitive and simple to use.

However, there’s one basic feature where this has been taken too far: the timing increments. To elaborate, when you turn the wheel to set the cooking timing, it ‘intelligently’ moves from smaller increments (10 seconds) to bigger ones. My problem is that after you get to 10 minutes, suddenly it goes up in 5 minute increments. In other words, you can’t set a timer for 12 minutes because the designers have deemed this too granular. How stupid – surely it is not uncommon to want to split the difference at a comparatively low overall time.

Also, the main aforementioned timing knob is extremely cheap feeling which lets the overall feel down considerably since it’s the most commonly used control. Honestly Panasonic, did you really need to save that 50 pence that badly?

Overall, it’s a solid piece of kit at a good price which I don’t regret buying which is denied true microwave greatness by some seriously asinine design choices that should never have been signed off.

Edit:- as a commenter on my original review has stated, I can confirm that a friend’s more recently purchased version indeed has the timing-increment issue resolved. Sad times for me as I’m stuck with the older model!

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersThe Panasonic NN-GD37HSBPQ combi microwave and grill is an excellent cooker in each of its modes. However, the controls need a careful study of the instructions, and there is a steep learning curve, especially if one has previously become accustomed to a different microwave.

Cooking works well, as claimed above in the blurb. I like the genuinely variable power levels, much better than the old types which merely gave full power in short busts. However, when grilling, one needs to be careful in choosing the optimum height of the food.

Steam Cleaning with the cup of lemon in water is effective at removing fresh splashes, but baked-on grease in the grill is another matter, and the painted insides are more difficult to clean than if they had been simple stainless.

The vents are on the back, and must be left clear to prevent overheating. To keep it away from the wall I put a couple of small bits of scrap wood cut to length as spacers to prevent the feet from sliding back when operating buttons or door.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Userseasy to use fantastic product. ideal size – takes normal sized plates and also tall containers. Tried most of the features ie high to low including defrost ,auto clean, auto defrost simple easy to use. Doesnt seem to burn reheating food like my previous microwaves must be the inverter technology ! note the cooling fan will run for a short period after use. Only downside is easy to leave fingerprints on the door which my previous micros did but because their fronts were glass they were easier to remove/clean.

I bought this to replace my Russel Hobs microwave that died after 2 years. Overall I’ve been very pleased with this purchase. There are a whole range of options that honestly I’ll never really use if I’m honest but they’re there just in case I need to defrost something using chaos theory! .

Having 1000 watts is brilliant! Everything cooks so fast! Coming from my previous 700 watt microwave I can tell you it makes massive difference and is well worth paying a little extra for if you can stretch to it.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersExcellent quality microwave that works perfectly. Having the high voltage inverter instead of a heavy transformer makes it much lighter to transport or move when cleaning.

Does what it says on the tin. Amazing microwave probably one of the best I have ever owned. I only have one issue. Brush steel is a nightmare to keep the finger prints off it drives me crazy. But it does the job rather well. It’s one hell of a powerful microwave at 1000W it does cook very well. Easy to set up and easy to use.

Gets used a lot – bought to replace a 5 year old Sharp which was heavier, smaller. noisier and not as powerful. The technology seems to have progressed over that timeframe and this one seems well worth the price. As others have said you do have to be careful with finger prints which it seems to attract and are then difficult to remove.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersA compact microwave that actually fits a plate inside (surprisingly few actually fit a dinner plate these days). It’s proper brushed metal on the front and sides unlike some models that are painted plastic. Easy to use and programme, very fast cooking at 1000W. I have two criticisms that prevent it being five star: there isn’t an obvious ‘fast cook’ button, most microwaves I’ve used you can press ‘start’ or some other button to get 30 seconds on full power; secondly the LED display is a bit hard to read from an angle, so with it on the worktop I find I have to bend down slightly to see the numbers on the display.

    What I expect of Panasonic.
A replacement for my original Panasonic that worked like a dream for over 30 years.
I’ve only been using this one a couple of weeks.
Hopefully this one will see me out.
The silver colour (stainless-look) plastic (?) casing gets a bit smeary with finger marks.
I suppose good quality brushed ss would have increased the selling price.
So it’s good value for the price.

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersVery good microwave, decent size, very quiet, looks pretty good, seems to heat up quite evenly. Slightly annoying that you always have to set the power first, don’t know why it couldn’t automatically be on full pwer.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis is my second purchase of this Panasonic model. I bought the first November 2016 with the 950 watt power and was very pleased with it. My only gripe was the stainless steel front which looks very nice is a pain showing finger prints marks etc but easily wiped clean with damp cloth. First one cooked efficiently and ran very quiet. However almost a year old it developed a mechanical noise when working. It was either the extraction fan bearing or turntable making an additional mechanical noise. Amazon accepted it back for a full refund. Thinking it was just bad luck I ordered this 1000 watt model as a replacement. Again it’s very nice and as quiet as the first. Here we go again. I would recommend but who knows the longetivity of these or any modern microwave? My old model lasted 20 years and was Korean made
