I own c10 Hue devices around the house. This fits in perfectly. The portability is of course the selling point. The battery isnt quite good enough to last a day/night with any kind of brightness however it looks great – As expected from Hue and the price tag.

Great light but the app plays up and a little disappointed I had to buy a second one as first one stopped working after a few years.

Love this lamp – so simple to set up and use via my phone / Alexa – we bought another for my father too! Really handy that it can be unplugged and utilised in power outages too, plus the candlelight glow & fireplace function adds a warming ambiance to any occasion 10/10

Great lights that are easy to install and work fabulously with Philips Hue bridge and Alexa.
Do like the way it is portable (works without being plugged in) and colour changing.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use this light with various other sensors to provide an indication of temperature, or motion. It sits in garden office and lets me know when someone’s coming towards it, and also if temperature outside goes low, or high.

I control it using my Phone.

When I bought a first one, I thought something is wrong with colours or it must be changing colours. But in reality, if you look at particular colours in your environment or your monitor, you start perceiving the same colour coming from this Philip device as different.

Anyway, have two, and the only complaints are that it could be brighter, and that the power cable plugs stupidly, it makes it always hard to make it stand properly when you put it on a new surface. It does stand, but you always need to fiddle with that cable

I put off buying this for ages as it seemed like an unnecessary expensive, but since I have got it I love it.

The light can be super bright or really dim – I was very impressed with the range – and the number of colours available is amazing. I really love the sunset mode too, which slowly dims the light for sleep. It’s also brilliant that you don’t need to have a whole ‘system’ to use this – just your phone and the light itself – no internet, no Alexa/ hub etc.

My main frustration with this is that the Bluetooth breaks fairly regularly and the light just won’t connect to my phone. It’s so annoying and no amount of restarting seems to fix itI just have to wait until it decides to work again. If this was fixed, this lamp would be perfect.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI originally purchased this to use as a bedside lamp, however, found that it wasn’t bright enough to adequately light up the room yet too bright to look at directly. This was the case no matter how much I adjusted the brightness. I ended up continuing to use my old bedside lamp and I moved the mood light to a cabinet where it shines through the glass shelves beautifully. In fact, I’d like another one for the other shelf.

I’d buy this for lighting up shelves, cabinets, cubby holes etc but wouldn’t recommend for using as an actual lamp. Wouldn’t pay full price for it though. I ordered it on prime day so I’ll wait for another event like that before buying another.

Love it but not for original purpose

We purchased a Refurbished Philips Hue Go 2.0 White & Colour Ambiance Smart Portable Light.

We have the light in our front room casting colour onto the wall behind the cabinet it stands on, we keep it at 75% brightness when it’s sitting there, because it’s just right to colour wash the corner of the room; as we have Alexa devices we control Hue from them, we don’t use the Philips app, as we have no need to.

On the Alexa app you can preset different colours, different brightness & set timers that are controlled by voice (as my video demonstrates), or if someone is asleep/watching TV you can control the light’s functions from the Alexa app – I believe that this is also the case with the Philips Hue app.

I’m over all impressed with this light, it’s a refurb, but you wouldn’t know it.

I have mixed feelings about this. The positive things are that it is integrated with Alexa and it is portable (as you can used it unplugged for a certain time, which useful) and that it is a really pretty item overall. However, I have a similar one, a full sphere, B&Q generic brand, that was half the price, works also very well and has very similar ligthing effects (not with Alexa integration or unplugged option though). In conclusion, it is a really lovely item, with decorating lighting effect, but I just find it expensive for what it is in comparison with the traditional (plugged and not integrated) versions.

You can either connect this to your phone via Bluetooth or the Philips Hue bridge. If you can be bothered with this you can just use the button on the bottom.

The light can get very bright which was a
very nice surprise and has made us reconsider buying a lamp for our living room. The range of colours it can display are vivid and vibrant so big plus marks for that too. There are lots of other modes too, our favourite so far is the candle like effect which gives a cosy, warm flickering light.

My living room is a converted garage with heavy curtains, which is usually inhabited in the dead of night. In spite of knowing this, it took me half a decade to realise that it was actually kind of dark! It was only when my husband brought down a reading lamp so that he could actually see a book that I looked around for some solutions.

I ended up buying two of these cute Hue Go lamps (one at first, which I liked enough that I bought it a twin). They’re small and inconspicuous so it was a simple matter to place them on top of high book cases where they weren’t in the way and wow, they have made such a difference to the ambient light in my living room! They’re bright enough that they solved the problem of the gloom even angled up towards the ceiling. The cables are slim and white so they’re not really visible when they’re tucked away. The lights are designed to be unplugged and made portable for short periods of time but I haven’t actually needed to use this feature yet. They’ll be handy in a power cut, though.

I use Hue lights elsewhere in the house so I quickly paired my new Go lamps and set them up in Apple’s Homekit; the Home app let me link them so that they perfectly match colour and brightness whenever I want to mess around and they come on with my main living room light when I flick the switch; in other words I have all of the benefits of permanent lights without the hassle of installing permanent lights. My current favourite ambiance is to turn off the main light and just use the Hue Go lamps when I’m watching movies; I set them to an eerie violet so that I can see what I’m doing without getting distracted from the screen. Colour changing lights are great fun.

The light is great to be used as a sleep or wake up light, it can be very bright and using scenarios makes it very easy do change. I set it up as a wake up light to start turning on 20 min before my alarm and I feel great waking up.
Negative points, it’s very light and there’s grip, so sometimes it rolls just with the weight of the power cord. The settings are not “permanent” so you have to configure the time to turn off and turn on every day, which is a bit annoying (maybe it works better with other apps, but that the Philips Hue Bt).

For Google home you can simply turn the light on, open the Google home app and it will find the device.

You only need the Hue Bluetooth app if you want to use scenes (rotate colours in a preset pattern) as the Google home app can so the rest.

The light is very bright and build quality is great.

Highly recommend if you want to add a splash of colour to your room.

We already have several Hue products and wanted this for our living room to add to the Ambilight setup. It looks nice when on or off and fits in great with the setup. The added bonus is the battery, so we can also use it in the garden for added ambience, the ‘fire bowl’ setting is especially nice. Bit pricey like all the Hue light stuff, but it’s good quality and it just works so well you can’t help but think the extra spend is worth it in the long term

I have been interested in getting some hue lights for a long time, my partner said we needed a lamp for our living room and while getting a bridge and some other lights I decided to pick one of these up too.

The moment I turned on the hue go I was almost blinded by the “dim light” it defaults to not a complaint more as a positive as it gets BRIGHT.

The one complaint I have that doesn’t affect my 5 stars is there are some presents that are only accessible via the button on the back, I would or preferred to have Accsess to these presets in the app too as they are really nice.

Bought two of these lights for the living room. They are fairly easy to set up but you do need the Phillips Hue hub and set it up with that first before setting up with Alexa. There are loads of colours which I like so you can change the ambiance of the room. I will definitely be getting more and would certainly recommend.

I was in the market for a portable light that could be used on the garden table and remembered that Hue produced this light which would integrate with my Hue system.

This is a lovely little thing that is easy to use without the need for smartphone interaction or automation. It has a number of built in scenes, including a simulated candle which amplifies its simplicity. Light throw is good at night and battery runtime is adequate. It can wither lay flat like a bowl or be propped at an angle which adds another layer of versatility.

My current use case for it is as a bedside lamp automated to slowly increase its brightness when my alarm goes off. This means you get a lot of lamp for your money as it can do many things and fit in many places to add mood when mood is needed.

I recently noted the HomeKit enabled Eve Flare, which is a larger more expensive version of the Go. It has a bigger battery but is less portable and not available in the UK. It made me ask myself if I was happy with my purchase, and the answer was yes.

If I had to add one feature request it would be for an active touch surface to make turning the light on and off easier as the switch to do so is on the bottom of the lamp. Other than this, it is a lovely little thing.

I really like the whole Hue range and these Go’s are one of the reasons why. The app is good, they never fail to work and there’s a very wide range of colour and brightness to apply. We have 3 of these and they’re used as night-lights mainly but work equally well in mood setting a room.

We have a large number of smart bulbs and sockets in the house, many of which are Phillips. We do have a Phillips hub, and we use Alexa. We spend many evenings outside in summer and wanted a coloured light to add to the other lights we have out there. We also plan to use it indoors. I was concerned about some reviews saying it needs charging after every use. We have had this 3 days now, and after only one charge it has been on every night. The light can be operated from Alexa, although the colour choice is limited. Using the Phillips app gives lots of colour choices. We have kept the brightness level quite low as that seems to work best outside. Operating the colours manually offers a few “scene” choices like candlelight, but these are not replicated on the app for some reason. You can create the look you want though, using the app. I think this looks lovely outside, and it will add some colour and atmosphere to an outdoor party. It was expensive, but we are pleased with it.

Great outdoor light, versatile can be used indoors

I love Hue lights… I have a reputation from friends as well as my wife that I might be addicted to them! Nah… I read all the reviews and yes they are completely overpriced but I think Philips have my loyalty and trust to a degree. I have tried a couple of the others, Ajax, Govee but it boils down to the app, Philips is super simple, and I’d highly recommend getting the Connecthue app, as within this you can set scenes and animations, works brilliants with the Hue Go lights. Set-up is a breeze and once done, no issues what so ever. They are not the brightest of lights, I leave mine plugged in to the mains 99% of the time so not sure on the battery life either.

Great but could be a lot more!

Exactly what I was after for my small seaside cabin. Some clever features, the Bluetooth connectivity works magnificently, preset themes & routines great & “flickering candle” impressive + unit can be used away from power but the option to maybe have a changing lightscape would have been nice & my much loved flickering candle can only be activated by physically pressing a button on the unit rather than through the phone with Bluetooth.

All in all a great little unit but not too cheap & you’d also want to make sure it was on a flat stable surface as the stability of a bit of an issue!

No indication of battery charge in the app so its all guess work.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have earlier generations of the Philips ‘living colours’ type of LED lights. They are not and never have been cheap, but the quality is undeniably good. They all deliver a good amount of colour control and brightness and I used them all around the house and love the glowing corners in my stately rooms.

When I saw this more portable one (i.e. built in battery) I was intrigued. I must say it’s pretty good and as expected gives stunning lighting. However I do think that Philips are missing a trick here. If they had made a small shaped ‘charging dock’ for the LED light it would have been so much easier to use. The power is delivered by inserting a small plug into the half-orb. That’s a tad fiddly. If there was a dock with electrical contacts (in a similar was that a cordless phone works) and you could just place the Philips half-orb (not actually sure of the best term to use for this gadget so you’ll have to make do with me calling it a ‘half-orb’ — works for me) dropping it onto a charging base so that the battery contacts met, it would be so much more convenient.

If Philips want to thank me for my brilliant idea then that’s fine and I would appreciate it. Even if they don’t and even if they don’t get around to designing a ‘charger-base’ version, I still love the half-orb light. It lights up my otherwise rather mundane and potentially dark existence at home during the current restricted lifestyle…

…a warm red glowing corner cheers me up no end.

It really works as advertised, I can’t argue with that. My only issue is that I’m not living in the UK, and it doesn’t provide the adaptor for EU plugs. I can’t understand why Philips HUE doesn’t supply them. I have bought other lights from them (not from the UK) and it also provided the UK and US plug adaptors, so I thought that it ships those as a standard, regardless from where you get them.

This object in itself is a party piece, or a meditation piece, or a reading lamps it is incredibly versatile. I take it to friends and it sets a mood and ambiance. At home it is linked with my Hue Bridge and outside I use the Bluetooth to pilot it with my phone. It has some pre-set mode and colours including a candle mode which is my favourite mode at night when orientated towards my (fake) living wall, and it is enough to create a fantastic atmosphere of cosiness.
For what it is and the way it presents itself it is a bit overpriced -it is all plastic after all, and the hole to plug the lead is badly placed in my views. But it is a great purchase for a mobile lamps.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersShame you need a hue bridge for some functions, but colour and brightness choices are lovely.
If you’re linking to Alexa without a Bridge you can’t use the skill but you can still set up routines and schedules, you need the Hue App for Bluetooth, the other one is only if you have a Hue bridge.
Won’t link to Hive without Hue bridge, so can’t be triggered using Hive motion sensor.
Power wire would have been more convenient as a mini USB so I could charge using wires I already have plugged in for other devices, instead of having to find somewhere for a unique charger.
It would be nice to have a colour changing mode where its cycles through automatically.
I wanted to charge this and then use it where I could turn it on on at dusk, but the charge is used up by the Bluetooth before it gets a chance to turn on. Don’t expect the charge to last long.

The lumen on this is good, however the problem that I have with this is the battery – it does not hold charge for long. As such does not serve the portability aspect of things very well, as it is more reliable to have it plugged in consistently.

    Update
“Despite this I am unsure whether I should purchase an additional one and use both together on my TV stand”. In the end I decided to purchase a second lamp for my TV stand and must say that it looks really good as you can group and control the lights together as if they were one.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI bought this to add to my growing list of Hue lights and bulbs, I use them mainly linked with my ambilight TV and they follow the screen without any lag, they really do add to the already great Ambilight experience. When my TV is off I use them for any of the many preset scenes and even bought a Music app’ that looks great, it takes me back to my old disco days, lol.
This unit is bright and has the added feature of being portable which if we ever get another warm evening up here in the north east, haha, will be nice to have it lit up on our patio table. You don’t need the app’ for basic functions so that you can change the colour just by pressing the button on the unit but for full functionality and linking to multi light scenes you do need to use the free app’

I’ve been looking at this product for a few weeks now. I was hesitant to buy as I thought it a bit expensive.
Finally bit the bullet and am pretty pleased with it.
    Good Points
    * If like me, you live in a typical terraced house with a lack of power points, this is ideal. After 2 hours charge I paired it with the Hue Bluetooth app, which was very easy, and it was ready to go.
    * You can have the light as dim or bright as you wish. I was nicely surprised at its brightness, as I wasn’t expecting much.
As you can see from my photos, it’s still pretty light outside, but the lamp light is still quite bright.

    Bad points
    * A little disappointed that you can’t program a colour sequence. I was hoping to program a colour change every 15 minutes or so.
Maybe this is only possible if you have a Hue bridge?
    * I see that all the components of the Hue range are quite pricey and this is no exception.
I do really like it, but seventy pounds just seems a lot of money for what it is.

I'm pleased, but it is pricey!

The only thing I don’t like however is that there is virtually no hue labs for the bluetooth app. If I wanted to take them to a friends house or out in the garden I want them to colour loop like they do on wifi but that’s not a possibility. 5 stars for what they are though. – Create any mood with the preset modes or an infinite selection via the Hue app (the candlelight pre-programmed setting is pretty cool)
    – It’s portable and lightweight so you can take it to other rooms or outside (if it’s dry)

    * I would give 5 stars if the following issues were addressed…

    Cons:
    – It’s a little too lightweight and doesn’t feel premium considering the price
    – It isn’t waterproof which limits its use as being portable
    – The power cord could be positioned better as it isn’t as subtle as I would like plus with the lamp being so lightweight, the weight of the cord turns the whole lamp when trying to position it. Frustrating.
    – Nothing to do with the product itself but my item was delivered in a battered and torn box and the lamp itself had a little chip on the rim which I noticed immediately but not bad enough to return the item.

Golden Review Award: 75 From Our UsersOnce you buy it you forget that you even spent that 70 because it’s so good. Of all my smart lights, this is the one that I constantly play around with and it is bright enough to add colour to any room! In the video it is the main light adding colou

First impressions were that it is quite small for the price and feels more ‘plastic’ than expected. I suspect it wouldn’t fair well if dropped as the plastic is the type that will crack easily (shame, as it’s designed to be portable!). It does look nice though, and as with other hue bulbs, it’s easy to set up and use. Quite bright when unplugged and the stand is stable. It’s a shame the charger cable is so visible, but I guess they had to compromise to maintain stability of the stand. I like that the colours can still be cycled without having to connect to the app. Quite a lot of money, but if you’ve bought into the hue system it’s a nice addition.

Fantastic products. Sturdy, good quality material. Has a weight to it that suggests it’s of quality. The range of colour settings is fantastic, and I LOVE the candle flicker setting. Unfortunately I can’t utilise its full potential since I don’t have the required Phillips Bridge to be able to link to it via Bluetooth, which is very disappointing. If it allowed me to connect directly from my phone via Bluetooth this review would be a no-brainer 5 star.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThe product is designed really well and is of a really good quality. For a small room the brightness is succificent but for anything larger any other colour than white will struggle to fill a room.

Its basics functionality with the app is fine but it had a lot of problems connecting via the Bluetooth, there’s no consistency as to when it will work. Which is the main issue with the smart home aspect of it.

Using it with a Google home mini, several times I’ll make the request to Google and Google will action it as though the light is connected but it doesn’t register on the device so you have to remove it and resync, which can require factory resetting the device to get it to register. Depending on how lucky you are it might happen once a month or several times a week.

If you have the patience to tinker with the smart home stuff and are willing to accept its flaws I’d say go for it but not at full price. I got it early on discount from the treasure truck for around 35 which is more reasonable.

I love the fact you can choose any colour, at any brightness – and that’s just the basics! Use it as a gently dimming light to aid sleep when you go to bed, or set it to wake you up gradually in the morning. I love linking it to my tv and watching movies with the wall behind the tv lit in corresponding colours to the program. Superb when watching nature documentaries but do not watch scary movies or you my need clean underwear.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought it to dip my toe in to hue lighting, loved it so much that I’m now replacing bulbs throughout the house and have bought other hue products. Be careful, it can become an addiction. This will be particularly useful in the summer when entertaining in the garden, that said, the off mains battery life could be better.

    My first hue product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought as a treasure truck deal and very happy with function, set up and colour variations. Intensity could be better. I have it on a four seater table but only illuminates a small section of this. Value for money paid, but like most Phillips lights, I wouldn’t pay full price. Have only used it with a mains power source so can’t comment on battery life

love this, it was a purchase i had been considering for quite a while and i am so glad i bought it. it floods my room with whatever colour light i want and is so simple to control using the app. if you already have other Philips Hue products, it works seamlessly with them also

We love Hue lighting we have them all round our house and so easy as we run all the lights through the Alexa’s we bought this to use in the garden aswell as the house as we can unplug from the mains and use as a portable – currently using it in the kitchen and the extra lighting is fab can’t wait for the summer when we can get out in the garden and use it there too

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersGreat product, purchased for two teenagers rooms.

They originally had hue iris lights, but the lower light settings were not very dim and highest setting not very bright. We already had version 1 of the hue go and knew it could go much dimmer and brighter, better suited as a bedside lamp.

Added bonus, the v2 light could be controlled by both a hue bridge and the new Phillips hue Bluetooth app.

So we could control lights overall with a bridge or pair with a light switch, but the kids could also manage colour and on/off state with bluetooth app.

This meant we didn’t need to give them the hue bridge app and access to the other hue lights around the house.

If you don’t have a hue bridge you can still use them standalone with Bluetooth app or the mode button directly on the light.

Battery powered too is a bonus…

If using with both a bridge and Bluetooth then configure the light with the bridge first, then setup up Bluetooth. We did Bluetooth first but it seemed to lose that configuration when we added light to bridge. Setting up Bluetooth after it remembered both setups.

Great solution for a kids bedroom or up light in a living area, great with Alexa too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Philips Hue Go or ‘Hugo’ (as we’ve come to call it), is a great addition to both lighting at home, as well as lighting when you’re out and about. It can serve as a standalone light, or it can improve the ambience of your home by serving as an up lighter when directed at a wall.

Our personal favourite is to have ‘Hugo’ propped behind something to illuminate a space at maximum brightness without seeing the direct glow of the device.

Overall the Hugo is a great piece of kit and well worth the money. If it were to be improved, it could tell you the percentage of battery remaining through the app, with a setting on the Amazon Alexa or Google Home to optionally warn you if the battery is low (<10%).

I would recommend this device to friends and family.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis new model of ‘Philips Hue Go 2.0 with bluetooth’ has 520 lumens, not 300 as it is currently stated in Amazon’s description. Old model (without bluetooth) has 300 lumens.
It also contains several pre-set programs. I have tested a few and for example ‘candle’ mode is not just a static light, it slightly changes the color and brightness to resemble a candle. Similarly for blue ‘meditation’ mode, the color of light is very slowly changing from blue to little bit more greenish and back.
Box also contains a table of estimated battery light per different modes, which probably depends on strength of brightness. Battery life for darker modes is up to 24h.
Color of light is even on device as displayed on the box, my phone’s camera just wasn’t able to capture it like that 🙂

520 lumens for new Hue Go 2.0 with bluetooth

This is the best! The kids enjoy changing the colour with the Bluetooth app, the energising shade really helps me wake up in the morning and its great to use instead of a candle when watching a film or something. If you don’t have the bridge and can only use basic features on Bluetooth, I think it’s a little too pricey.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really do like this light, it’s so much better than the previous ‘Iris’ light in my opinion. It’s much smaller but doesn’t half pack a punch when you have it have it at full brightness.

The fact that you charge it up and can put it where you like without any wires etc it a big plus.

I like the different ‘whites’ that are the initial modes after pressing on bottom bottom. From the warm yellow type white to the ultra bright cool white.

Then there are the different modes/patterns, some are very subtle (ie; scrolling through different ‘whites gradually.) whilst some are more ‘dramatic’ like the pink/purple ‘passion mode’ (I’m not sure what its actually called but goes through the reds and violets and purples.

The candle mode is good too (unlike on cheaper ‘Phillips Berry’ light, which is hardly noticeable.) and actually looks light a cosy flickering candle. Pretty relaxing.

I’ve knock a star off because, well, it’s pretty expensive (about 70 at time of writing) for what it is, it’s good but I think 50 would be more suitable. Also I’ve not given it five stars as the bottom ‘stand’ makes it a bit wobbly.

I would like another one so am waiting to see if the price drops at any point.

Oh one last thing, another plus it you don’t have to fork out for the Hue Bridge to use it.

    Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersSimple and easy to use, the new updated Hue Go 2.0 really adds the flexibility you want from a portable light, while also working perfectly at home. Its easy to set up in the Hue app then works flawlessly.

You can use it around the home or outside, with a 3hr battery life when not plugged in. When it’s connected to WiFi you can still use smart assistants to control it or routines even when not plugged in.

The colors are great on it, making it grab that bit of atmosphere and putting it into the room.

I would fully recommend this as a good step into the hue ecosystem, without having to buy a hub.

Does exactly what it says - portable, useful and easy to use
