Philips Hue Twin Pack White and Colour Ambiance Smart Bulb LED [B22 Bayonet Cap] with Bluetooth. Works with Alexa and Google Assistant [Energy Class A]
Brilliant bulbs. Have them in every room. Work great with alexa. Fully adjustable brightness via app and voice command (alexa). I did once buy an off brand bulb and after 2 hours of unsuccessful setting up and the terrible urge to launch it out the window I sent it back… Only to get another apparently decent brand but unfortunately every time some idiot in my house flicked the light switch instead of using their voice, the bulb had a total fit and refused to work for around 5 minutes… So I forked out a bit more cash and bought one of the Hue bulbs.. Haven’t looked back since… I now have them in every room. They are brilliant. Work every time without issue.. So if you also have an idiot within your home that can’t get their head around not touching a switch, then these are for you, because they work straight after the idiot has left the switch alone.. No having to wait for it to reconnect… If you lose Internet connection within your home then obviously go get your idiot switch toucher back out their cupboard and let them flick away.. Also.. Side note… Only works with voice command of everyone in the house knows the name you’ve given to the bulb… Like our ‘living room light’… Which hubby still says ‘sitting room light’ and seems to think the bulbs or alexa is broken… When in fact he’s just an idiot… Who also flicks switches…

I have hue bulbs all over my house. They are a god send to me as I am disabled with severe mobility problems. I control the lights either from my tablet or Alexa. It means I can turn lights on and off more safely. I find it particularly good when I’m going to bed. I can keep the lights on downstairs and turn the bedroom light on before I get up there. I can get safely to the stair lift and into bed then ask Alexa to turn off the downstairs lights. You can adjust the brightness to your liking or use it as a little night light if you are up and down during the night (good for kids bedrooms too. I like the coloured ones the best though as I love changing the room scenes o suit my mood etc. These keep me safer at home and I wouldn’t be without them. They are expensive but I usually purchase these on prime day/Black Friday events when the deals are on which makes them more affordable. If I’m ever worried about intruders/noises in the night I can ask Alexa to turn all the lights on and the whole house is lit up like a Christmas tree, including the garden lights front and back.
We have these in two bedrooms and the white ones in the hallway and landing and lounge. Just another lazy way of turning on/off the lights but it keeps Alexa busy
Not the cheapest on the market but they’re reliable and if your a gadget person you’ll love the interaction and capabilities if linked to a Hue Sync hub 200 – 300
Are they really necessary not really but having a child with learning difficulties they are a great addition to a smart home.
Our son goes to bed with his set to night mode once settled we can turn his light off just by simply giving an audio command or by using the Hue App. We also set ours so that when it’s dark on a evening they auto come on when we park up outside our home.
Just grea
There are plenty of ‘smart lamp’ options around some of which work with the Philips Hue system and some that are more generic and I have a few. However, for ease of use, integration and reliability, no-one comes close to Philips Hue.
First off, this is a very well made bit of kit. It feels quality and it is quality – which, it should be given that it’s not the cheapest item out there.
Secondly, it just works. Out of the box, screw in and then add it to your Hue gateway hub. Takes seconds and is utterly reliable.
Now, the one thing that I didn’t notice at first is that you can use this without a hub and simply connect via Bluetooth from your phone. For me that’s not an issue as I already have the hub (well three to be honest) and use the full range of options. However, if you just want a couple of lamps to be operable from your phone then this works well.
The light quality is excellent and of course can be adjusted to suit easily either in real time or set up for a particular routine.
As for looks? Well, this is perhaps the downside of the Philips lamps. Mostly they don’t have the kind of ‘designer’ look that is suitable for bare bulb implementation. Nope, these lamps need to be in a shade for sure.
Overall, there is no better smart lighting system on the market.

It’s an A+ energy light bulb and it works. Would be nice if one were able to get white light, 6k, instead of warm light which tends to be a little too yellow for my taste but I can’t seem to track any down of the smart light variety. Is it easy to link? Yes, especially if you tick the little option box to link with your account, or does that not matter? Anyway it worked out of the box and it then took me way longer to figure out how to set it to come on at a specific time with the Alexa app! Very confusing, well for me anyway. Once I’d watched a very helpful Youtube video by some chap on how to do it I was up and running. I do like the ability to dim the light and not have to have a dedicated light switch to do so and I am enjoying the novelty of saying ‘Alexa, good night’ and the lights turning off. Little things please little minds and all that. Just remember that to make them work you need to have either a forth generation Echo a hub thing or a smart plug, which of course is the cheapest option. 25/01/2021 – Had to return this as the bluetooth side of it decided not to work anymore! The bulb itself continued to work but only if you got up and turned it on/off. Amazon replaced it so lets hope this one works way longer.

For anyone like me who hates winter mornings, these are great, we have set them up to come on at 6am as a dim red, then each minute get brighter and whiter until my alarm goes off at 6:30, so I’m usually awake by then anyway, but feel like I’m enjoying a Summer Sunday morning lay in.
I love that I can tell Alexa to “Go to bed” from any of my “Alexa rooms” and my bedroom lights switch on with a warm orange glow for me to see to get undressed and all the other lights that are connected to Alexa turn off fifteen minutes later…. Then 15 minutes after the bedroom light dims and switches off, so I have about 30 minutes to get to my room, undress, get into bed and nod off and the light takes care of itself.
After buying a few of these bulbs and seeing how easy they were to use – and integrate with things like Echo, and Homekit on iOS, I jumped in and bought even more lights for the rest of my home.
I’ve had various bulbs for over 5 years now and still going strong, with very few issues.
We use these around the house so familiar and already gave the hub. They connected easily and with 2 pendants we are able to have different colours, brightness etc using the app.
These are fantastic bulbs. They make things so much easier, and no its not about being lazy not getting off the sofa or bed to turn light on/off. There is much more than that.
Using the hue app and adjusting settings my lights will all automatically turn off as i drive away from my property, and alternatively my hallway light will come on as I arrive close by to my property. They also slowly come on in the morning during dark mornings.
I can name them whatever I want, such as my bedroom being betty. They are nice and bright, and there’s even a night light setting for my daughters bedroom which is great.

Super simple to install, functional, aesthetically pleasing and convenient.I have just the light bulb since I don’t need the whole kit. I’ve been able to get myself in bed and use my phone to turn off the light or dim it down depending on what I’m doing. I can set a “sunset” like an alarm clock to gradually wake me up at a given time in the morning as well as gradually dim to eventually cut the light out to help me sleep before bedtime whilst i’m reading or what not. Definetly worth investing in.
You don’t need a Bridge and not had problems with Bluetooth as some other reviews suggest. Alexa with turn the lights on and off and dim them, it can change the colour but it’s fairly limited so you’ll need to use the Phillips App to select from the numerous options
Love these Philips Hue lightbulbs, so handy to turn on, especially when away from home, and the Hue Labs has some handy function to use which makes them more adaptable across the entire home. Strongly recommend these if you want an integrated lights system within your home.
Light is so important in my life and I was really fed up with the depressing colour and brightness from cheaper bulbs. This one has changed and couldn’t be more pleased
Brilliant bulbs! Do exactly what they are supposed to! Very easy to install and setup! Was lucky enough to get them on sale with the Amazon Echo dot at the end of last year which was a bargain! Only thing negative that I can say is that they are very expensive for what they are! but with over 25000 hours of life in them, its not all bad. Overall, I would definitely recommend
Second lot i have ordered. My dream od a smart lighting system is getting there. I can now however see that using bluetooth only is not the best having. Multiple bulbs per room and not being sable to group them. Might have to get a bridge reluctantly. They are very nice having different colours in the same room. Easy to set up although alexa doesn’t want to know which is annoying
I have a small bedroom but had no light to get to the bed without bumping into things but with my Philips hue I just ask Alexa to switch my light on, climb into bed and ask her to switch it off – no more bumping into cupboard handles or the wooden bed frame – would recommend as its very easy to set up I’m 73 and I did it!

A brilliant item. Works well with Amazon Echo Alexa devices. Easy to install. Having to install a bridge is annoying though and there are other bulbs out there that dont use one. So i think phillips should find a way to make these work without the use of the bridge.
There are cheaper alternatives out there and not sure how different brands interact that well so will continue to buy philips.
Easy to install and very quick response (i don’t use the bluetooth though)
We brought this for my daughters bedroom as she has trouble sleeping, after checking online we decided in this product, it is a Bluetooth controlled product so no messy bridge or linking to WiFi
When it arrived we downloaded the App, plugged in the Bulb and it detected the build, we named the bulb and immediately it worked, the brightness and colour range is brilliant, you can have any brightness, and the app has mood lighting, you also can individually control each bulb.
i know you can get cheaper, but this is worth the extra. highly recommended
As these bulbs were advertised with the bluetooth functionality, I had hoped that I would be able to use them without the hub. Unfortunately, the bluetooth does not work unless u are directly underneath the bulb! It became a unless feature. I ended up having to fork out for the hub.
In addition set up was painful.
Having said that with the hub, the bulbs are reliable. Fits well. I love the ability to dim. The colour selections are vast and beautiful. Works well with google and alexa

Work brilliantly maybe a bit expensive compared to compatible bulbs from others manufacturers. I have found them more reliable than I
Other smart bulbs I have tried
The bulb is excellent if you own a bridge. Not bad with over Bluetooth, but lacks many of convince features. With the Hue BT app I can control brightness and configure presets. I can also control the brightness for when I turn it on via the good old dumb switch. There no rooms, scenes or anything else. There is voice assistance integration, but I couldn’t configure it with Google Home. Kept saying device not found. All in all, great if you only have 1 or 2 rooms. The bulb is bright enough when you need it.

I bought it in bundle and I did not pay attention there is two different type of hue white.
AMBIANCE:
CONS
-cost 50% more
PRO
-you do not need to chose 2200K-2700K-3000K or 4000K bulb, you can set up later
-you can switch between nice soft or bright color as needed
-you can use as a night light because dimms down to 1% (with basically 0 energy usage)
-more efficient, only uses 8.5W instead of 9W for the 806lm
The light is warm, very good, like an old 75W bulb, but not as bright as a “modern” 72W (=100W) halogen, I also tried out an old 20W fluorescent, now I just call it “the boss” 🙂 (but that needs few minutes to warm up)
Connectivity is brilliant: does not need a bridge, just a modern echo dot (say:”Alexa, discover”) (but also works with a single phone thru bluetooth far from any internet connection). I deduct 1 star because only can dimmed between 20-100%.
I had some connection problem using bulb with different firmware, there is an update to install int “hue blutooth” app.

Bought this bulb to use with my Amazon Echo. Had previously used cheaper WiFi connected bulbs, but the light often tended to be quite sharp and uncomfortable; so I am glad these Phillips Hue bulbs no longer require you to buy the control bridge!
Connecting was seamless and couldn’t have been easier – simply installed the bulb, and Alexa straight away said that a new light was recognised – then just went on the Alexa app and named the lightbulb. That was it!
Light is nice and comfortable – I like the ability to dim the bulb, so can ask Alexa to “turn the light down to 50%” etc. Also able to add it to routines on the Alexa app; e.g. automatically turning the light off when you say “goodbye” etc.

The whole family loves them. Bought to pair with the echo dots around the house. As the Alexa app will work similar to the Philips hue bridge. So you can remotely turn lights on and off if away from your property or just want to come home and there lights on.
Spending your time looking through a load of different smart bulbs unsure of which one to get? Yeah, I wasted a load of time doing the same before deciding to just go for the Philips Hue and I’m glad I did.
These are the best in the business and took me – literally – about a minute to install.
No, you don’t need the hub but I’d recommend getting one anyway as you’ll then be able to sync with laptop (remember that the HDMI sync is needed if wanting to sync with console/sky box etc)
Bought a fair few more now, so good to get the hub as without you can only handle 10 bulbs.
Don’t go for the cheaper options, best just to bite the bullet and go for these.
Great product, does exactly as expected and what I paid for, can alter the standard settings to “energise” which I found to be sufficient and bright enough for a bedroom, easy to control through the various Hue apps, really easy to install, not lost the network if left off all day which I found with cheaper bulbs (I do have the Hue hub). Expensive in my opinion but, if you want a colour bulb that is reliable, works every time and connects to smart products, I cant fault these bulbs. I guess you get what you pay for.
Bought as part of a deal with an echo dot and added to my existing hue lights with a hub, which I am very pleased with. Easy to use and set up routines.
I have several smart bulbs and I have to say this one stands out. Out of the box it is mega simple to install (using Echo anyway). Soon as you put bulb in and switch on my Echo dot picked up a new device and installation was over in a minute or two.
Having these bulbs do not require a hub, they are dimmer bulbs so, in our case, we turned our main living room lights into dimable (words?!? Lol) without changing our light switches.
Works with the Philips app and/or Echo so Alexa can control your lights on voice command.
Phillips Hue command a high price, but for me you get what you pay for. I recommend this bulb but would recommend you keep an eye out for sale offers which seem to come up quite often. I managed to pick up half price offers so jump on them when they come up.
There is one con, if it is one, that’s having to train yourself not to switch the light switch off or the obvious outcome is you can’t control your bulbs using app or echo … this took a little mind training on our part and occasionally we forget. It’s not a big deal really, just means you are back to an old fashion manual switching on and off of your lights … the hardship!

Easy to set up and use. The colour change has novelty value but using blue or purple to watch the tv removes glare form the tv. The dimmer function is very good as you can have the light full on for reading or working and then lower it for mood lighting. Similarly changing to a warm orange or yellow shad changes the feel of the room
This product is perfect!!
I was surprised to be honest about it.
I initially saw these were screw in bulbs then looked at the cost of changing my old bayonet ones… when I stumbled across this one.
It’s perfect and it makes life so much better in the bedroom.
I am no longer left to get out of bed when the mrs refuses to switch the light off 🙁
This was bought to go with an Alexa but she has it connected to the s8 by Bluetooth
Set up was simple and using it is simple.
It also works like a normal light ie from the light switch in case the app user is out the house and you think you will be stuck in the dark
We are intending on replacing every bulb in the house with these as it’s simple setting them up and once you have a smart light you won’t regret it .
It has three main settings bright dimmer and nightlight but you can set your own preference.
This one is only white but I have noticed you can buy for a bit more coloured ones.
I’d say go for the coloured ones as you will have more fun with them rather than the white.
These are excellent !! Buy one immediately
Update now connected to echo dot gen 3 and was simple to set up.
These are the rolls Royce of smart bulbs. They work perfectly, so many options and the eco system is well thought out. Combined with enough amazon echos and other smart home devices these become so easy to use for so many things.
I was put off ordering by reviews saying buyers had received two bulbs about 5/6w. I asked a question about this but due to lack of answers in the first couple of days I went ahead and ordered anyway on the basis that I could send them back if not as described.
I received 2 bulbs each stamped 806 lumen, A60 9w, 80mA 2700k.
This is not the 10w claimed in the specification panel but these 9w bulbs are much brighter than the 11w bent tube eco bulbs they were replacing. The replaced bulbs were about 3/4 years old and I understand the older tube eco lights do deteriorate after time but I’ve always hated the miserable dull yellowish light they give off so replacing the bulbs was a priority when I bought the house a few weeks ago.
LUMENS
I have read articles saying we should be judging eco bulbs on the lumens and not the wattage. But even then it’s not that simple as you have to look at “useful lumens”. Lumens are a measure of all the light a bulb emits including to the sides and on to the ceiling. The shape of this bulb probably increases the useful lumens by directing the light down and less to the sides and above. They seem better than the older shape.
Regardless of technical complications these give an extremely good clear light to my rooms and I am more than happy with them.
If you are replacing older bent tube 11w bulbs you are going to be very pleased with them.

I have a Hue hub and have not tried controlling them direct from Alexa.
COLOUR TEMPERATURE
The 2700k is a measure on the kelvin scale of the warmth or coolness of the light emitted. You can find charts of various k ratings for light bulbs. Those older tube eco bulbs must have bern really low on the scale. I have always hated the miserable depressing yellow light they gave off. Perhaps they have improved over time but I still disliked the light of the ones in my new house which is only 3/4 years old.
I have previously tried bulbs with bright white cornrow LEDs but the harsh blue light they gave was just as awful in the opposite direction. These bulbs seem a good compromise.
I do prefer a clear white light in the kitchen and had LAP white spots in the kitchen of my last house. Replacing the kitchen lighting is my next task in my new house.
In the past I did try bright white spots in the guest bathroom and guests really hated them. Horses for courses!

Just grea
Amazing coloured lights… so easy to set up and use with the iPhone app. A little bit of fun in dark times

Great addition to smart home works as intended if you would like smart bulbs these work great .

The bulb itself continued to work but only if you got up and turned it on/off. Amazon replaced it so lets hope this one works way longer.
Did not take a Photo but trust me came in perfect order have a hue Hub connected in Second great product very happy
After buying a few of these bulbs and seeing how easy they were to use – and integrate with things like Echo, and Homekit on iOS, I jumped in and bought even more lights for the rest of my home.
I’ve had various bulbs for over 5 years now and still going strong, with very few issues.
wasn’t happy that i had to by a bridge to connect to echo dot but it works so can’t fault i
We use these around the house so familiar and already gave the hub.
I would definitely reccomend.

you could say that adding lights to alexa echo is plug and play or put in switch on and ask alexa!
Bright and works well with Philips Hue Hub. Easy to install.
Definetly worth investing in.
absolutely fab lights worth every penny and very easy to install no complications at all
You don’t need a Bridge and not had problems with Bluetooth as some other reviews suggest.
This one has changed and couldn’t be more pleased
great. do as they shud. think they r expensive, but i suppose they are a luxury
Easy to install and work perfectly with Alexa, so many colours to choose from to create a nice mood.
Perfect for setting the mood and having a change . Love the produc
Love the Philips stuff, best smart bulbs I’ve used, works well with an Echo Plus with no bridge and works even better with an Alex and a bridge.

Very happy with this price and good quality also very bright.
Easy to set up & use with the app and with Alexa, good choice of colours.
No probs at all easy to setup very good, happy with purchases.
A brilliant item. Works well with Amazon Echo Alexa devices. Easy to install. Having to install a bridge is annoying though and there are other bulbs out there that dont use one. So i think phillips should find a way to make these work without the use of the bridge.
Easy to install and pair with alexa, just does not have much to offer apart from turning on, dim and turning off. Perfect for laziness.
There are cheaper alternatives out there and not sure how different brands interact that well so will continue to buy philips.
Easy to install and very quick response (i don’t use the bluetooth though)
brought as a xmas present and they seem to be happy with i
We brought this for my daughters bedroom as she has trouble sleeping, after checking online we decided in this product, it is a Bluetooth controlled product so no messy bridge or linking to WiFi
Fantastic product.
Brightness is excellent, colour choice is extensive and takes 2 seconds to install and activate.
Bit messy at start to setup but once done so no issues.

It’s enough lighting for me as I suffers from migraines
The bulb is bright enough when you need it.

ot 10 watt as stated
not really as bright as I’d actually wa

Absolutely love them although wish they were a little cheaper as would buy more.
Would recommend.

Fantastic bulbs and full system philips! Please work on reducing the price now and it will be perfect!
Great light, really enjoy using the bluetooth feature through Alexa works like a charm
But with extreme confidence.

Excellent value for money. Works extremely well, so easy to set up, very simple and very pleased with purchase. Very quick delivery.
The range off colours is great. Really easy to connect to an eco device.
So many different colours to choose from!! Easy to install and control using a device or voice. Would definitely recommend.
Very easy to set up and use good light quality and excellent colour spectrum
Only had these for a few days but works great. Easy to set up and link with Alexa.
Simple to setup, amazing choice of colours, integration with Alexa works brilliantly
Got these at a cracking price as part of an Amazon’ Black Friday deal. Very good built quality, rich colours, and flawless functionality.
I am a massive fan of the Hue range. Not cheap but worth it.

Fantastic lights that work very well as described. They connect straight away to any Bluetooth phone.
Please note you don’t get any of the automation features unless you hook them up to a Hue Bridge.
Also they are simple bulbs. Even with a Hue Bridge you cannot change the “whiteness” of the bulb If that makes sense.
I’d suggest for anyone dipping their toe into smart bulbs to go for the hue bridge pack. The lights that come with it contain more features.
