Good price, shines a reasonable amount of light onto the patio, could be brighter but ok for ambient light. look very smart. Motion sensor easily adjusted and works well.
Great light! Looks good and works well. This is no 2 after only a year. The sealed until had a fault which meant the light came on and then went off after 10secs.
Shame it couldn’t be easily fixed and had to add to the garbage in the world.
The light is not that brigjt, bit was aware of this from the other review. Looks reasonable is easy to fit although the non replaceable lightbulb is annoying and wasteful for the future

We love the way it looks, although we were expecting it to be considerably bigger. In terms of how much light it gives, it is perfect.
This is the 6 th Philips myGarden light I have purchase. Easy to fit great light with a morden feel.
It’s is still going strong three years in. Always handy late at night when all you want to do is get through the front door, and your fumbling for the lock! It’s mainly plastic, that’s why I deducted a star. Still well made, and fitted correctly it should give you years of service.
Bought to replace a cheap one that went wrong and I’m so glad I came across this light. A nice warm glow not a blinding bulb in the face type light, Aluminum body, plastic back but a good seal between to keep the spiders out.
This is installed facing a road with my car parked in front of it and it still responds to traffic passing as unfortunately it does not have a sensitivity adjustment only time and lux. So I’ve put a small bit of black electrical tape over the top 4-5mm of the sensor and now it’s perfect. Will be buying more but uncensored this time for the garden.

Had 4 of these fitted recently by my electrician. They were easy to install, provide good even light and should last for years.
Lovely looking light that works well. The front casing around the PIR was distorted but I managed to flatten it by using a knife to lift out the dent. Looks great now. I bought 3 of these lights without the PIR and 2 with PIRs. The 3 watt LED gives more than adequate light on the steps leading up to my house.
Bought for the back of the house. Great item, fixed to metal plaque first to ensure no water would get in behind. Love it.

I have placed 3 of these lights on the walls of my garage. They come on when motion is sensed and they give off sufficient light to enter the workshop and garage or to detect any unwanted activity. Being in the country the soft light is sufficient.
Would recommend this garden light. Looks modern and sleek and provides excellent light when in the garden.
It’s very solid and it looks nice, but really I reckon it should be 15-20 mark as there’s almost nothing to it other than a bit of plastic.

Bought for the front porch.This looks modern and is very easy to install. The sensor is very accurate and can easily be adjusted. I will by more from this range for the garden, they are good quality and worth the money….plus no hassle with BULBS!

J’ai aim son aspect semi-traditionnel et semi-moderne. Il met une lumire douce et deos ne vous donne pas l’impression d’tre recherch! Idal pour clairer les zones autour de la maison sans tre aveuglant. Je ne suis pas un professionnel, mais c’tait facile adapter.
Trs bien et conforme la description, facile monter et rgler, ce n’est pas un projecteur mais claire bien pour ce mouvoir dans l’espace clair.

Lamps are perfect for our requirements (we now have 6) and looks good. Only negative comment is that the thread on the base could be a tad longer to aid lamp assembly otherwise 5 stars

Provides a moderate amount of light on back patio – neither glaring nor dim. Sensor works well and I have set light to go off again after about 1 minute – which it does reliably.
Came in record time! Love them. Not supplier issue but more manufacturer. Hole for incoming power lead is offset to right. Needs to be centred or have to entry points. I was replacing 2 existing lights, but solved this by drilling additional hole in back plate. Other than this minor issue, love them

Works well once installed, as pointed out in another review the adjustment instructions are reversed. Install is a bit messy, no screws or rawlplugs included and the back plate needs to be drilled as well, all of which is disappointing given the cost of a branded product.

Wonderful light. Just what we wanted. Easy to install. Light is just where it is required.
Very pleased with it. Only a couple of negative issues, did not have a lot of working space above the light to secure the top screw the for panel at the top so this was difficult to achieve. Access for the adjustment of the sensor was not clear, in the literature had to contact Philips Tech. Dept. All in all very pleased with it.

Replaced a carriage style light that was part of the house design. So much better it is unbelievable. A very good light.
Looks fine and fairly easy to install even with heavy duty external cable but not as bright as I had hoped for.
Relatively straightforward to fit and setup, some tips for that later. Looks fine, gives out a nice warm light, was concerned it might not be sufficiently bright, but in practice it is fine. The light at the top reflects off the inside of the ‘glass’ and gives a feeling of the old gas lights.
It’s mounted about 2m from driveway height, no more, the driveway is about 11m to the footpath and 12+ metres to the roadside kerb. It provides sufficient illumination, plenty when the street lights are off and we are in darkness. The drive slopes very slightly down to the street, the detector doesn’t pick up traffic driving past, picks up pedestrians on the pavement at the edge of the property, and when you stop to reverse into the drive it illuminates handily in time before you cross the kerb. Cannot fault the light or installation.
It’s left powered on at the switch and it didn’t take long to set the light threshold or timer. At minimum setting the timer is inconveniently short but just above mid point is fine for us.
Fitting, some have said it’s fiddly, didn’t find that, but some hints. The unit is fastened to the backplane by two stainless hexbolts which are held in place by the backplane being screwed up to the mounting surface. If you are fixing to a brick or stone wall choose your position so that these hex bolts are not aligned with the pointed joints but will be hard up against the brick.
Secondly, when you make holes in the backplate for the fixing screws make sure the hole is elongated, the backplate has a shaped moulded section to guide you in this, I used a Dremel type tool to do this. If you make the holes in the shape of slots, once you have drilled the wall, inserted fixing plugs and screwed the fixing screws almost tight, the slot shape of the holes you have made allow you that final few degrees of rotation so you can get the fixing plate exactly right so the lamp when fastened will be perfectly vertical.
Finally the only fiddly bit consists of the rubber sealing gasket between light and mounting plate. If you smear a little vaseline or other similar substance when you fit the gasket then it will hold in place while you’re fitting and tightening the dome bolts to hold the light unit in place.
So 5 star, thoroughly recommend it, there are a lot cheaper lights out there, and more expensive too, admittedly, but would buy again.

Good quality motion detector sets of the light anytime anyone comes within 5metres of my house. The light is warm in colour but really does a good job illuminating the surrounding area. No issues with rain and the electrician who installed the lights to the mains circuit said this job was straightforward

The box contains only the light and manual – there are no wall fixings supplied. Philip’s recommend using stainless steel ones, a pretty sensible recommendation if you want the fixing to last for the 15 year lifetime claimed for the life.
The unit is nicely made and solid. The use of aluminium hopefully means it will won’t rust or otherwise deteriorate.
The light is not super bright, but bright enough to see what you’re doing. Philips claim 430 lumens, which is equivalent to a 40W traditional bulb – that figure seems to match what the light does in practice. The LED is warm white, not obviously a different colour from a traditional bulb.
The PIR motion sensor (which I’ve found to be a failure point on past outdoor lanterns) appears to be enclosed in a further set of seals within the light, so will hopefully last. The sensor has adjustments for the light level (to tune exactly how dark it is before the motion sensor is activated) and for duration. The motion sensor is unfortunately not adjustable for sensitivity or angle, though I was very happy with both.
It was not initially obvious to me how you access the light level / duration controls – the small piece of plastic above the PIR lens rotates downwards (so that it covers the lenses) revealing the adjusters. To reveal the controls, just push the right or left side of the black cover up.
The current selling price of around 40 seems about right. It is at the higher end of the market, but given the built in LED and motion sensor, the build quality and the claimed 15 year lifetime, the price seems justifiable.
The warrantee is a little confusing; the whole unit had a 2 year warrantee, and the “LED module” a 5 year warranty. I am not 100% sure whether the LED module warranty includes the PIR or not.
I’ve had this installed for 2 months now and it’s been working great. It reliably lights up when people approach the door. I’ll come back and update my review if I experience any problems.
It does seem that the PIR is sometimes prone to false triggering on windy nights, ie. the light sometimes switches on when there’s no one outside. This is really a limitation of the PIR technology used where moving currents of air may cause false triggers – in alarm systems a sensor that also had microwave based sensing technology would be used avoid these false triggers, but that technology could not be incorporated in this lamp without increasing both the size and cost.

Wenn die Lampe hngt, dann sieht sie wirklich sehr gut aus. Die Einstellungen von Leuchtdauer und der Lichtempfindlichkeit sind wirklich einfach und funktionieren einwandfrei. Lediglich die Installation ist schwierig, da im Gehuse der Lampe wirklich wenig Platz fr Kabel ist. Es ist also leider nicht mglich sich etwas mehr Kabel als Reserve in der Lampe zu halten und selbst bei sehr wenig Kabel ist es immer noch schwierig die Klemme im Gehuse genau so zu platzieren, dass es passt.
Ich wrde die Lampe trotzdem jedem empfehlen! Habe hiervon drei Stck um das Haus rum verteilt und es ist, nach der Installation, alles super mit den Lampen! Und mit etwas Geduld und Geschick klappt auch die Installation!

Great light, exactly what I’d expect from Philips. The light is a warm white. It would be nice it the light could be more of a daylight white. Having the option would give it 5 stars.
Only two minor concerns. Firstly the LED bulb cannot be replaced! If and when the bulb blows you have to change the whole fitting. Only time will tell how long the bulb does last, though in reality LED bulbs should last years. The second slight concern, like many of this type of light, is that the cable must come in from the rear only. There is no facility for it to come in the edge for surface mounted cables. In my case the cable had to run along the wall. I had to chase out some brickwork behind the fitting I order to make the connection and keep the light flush with the wall. Not the end of the world but creates a little more work.
In operation these lights perform very well, illuminating the area nice and brightly. So impressed, I’ve just purchased another one for another area of the house.
