I have one of these already but my son’s took it from my room and put it in theirs because they wanted it. Haha honestly this product is great I would recommend it to anyone.
Can't cope without this!
I have struggled previously with dark winter mornings getting up for work, but this clock is a life saver, I instantly wake up feeling good and not exhausted. This has really helped me, as I’ve struggled with feeling depressed, this is great for me and wish I would have bought one sooner.
So much easier to get up on dark mornings
Really like this clock. So much nicer to wake up gently with light growing gradually than being jerked awake in the dark. The alarm is quiet and gentle (I use one that sounds like a cuckoo, but there are a few choices). It’s made it a lot easier to get up on winter mornings. It will be pointless in the summer though.

4 years of use
I’ve used this for over 4 years now. It’s a bit expensive yes, and doesn’t have premium features but I now cannot live without it. When I forget to turn the alarm on I feel awfully groggy and notice a big difference in my attitude and mood. It could be brighter, yes, but I have it on my bedside table right next to my face, this helps and I now don’t have any complaints. 4 years on and I don’t care that it cost 80-90. It’s so worth the money for me.

An amazing alarm clock. Gone are the days of alarm anxiety. I now wake up gently instead of having a heart attack at a shrieking alarm or fearing missing a more subtle chime.

Brilliant for getting the kids up in winte
Got this for the kids to help them wake up in winter. Choose it as it was LED and plastic. It is easy to use and has good Features like multi-level dimming of the display so that it is not too bright at night. The light comes on gradually over about half an hour. One child wakes with the light alone, the other wakes when the bird song comes on.
The volume of the alarm sound can be altered from almost inaudible to loud enough to just be heard from another room. One press tip turn of the alarm sound and plus and minus buttons to dim or turn up the light.
You can adjust how brightly the light ends up – from very dim to really bright.
Does not get hot when the light is on as it is LED lighting.
The natural waking means the kids usually wake up by themselves and in a good mood.
Non-groggy gradual wake up
I’ve had this product for 4 weeks now. This is a great product, although looks and feels a little cheap. It’s very lightweight but this is because its made from plastic so I have to be careful not to knock it over. The plug cable is longer than average which is a bonus.
I like the two birdsong options for the alarm. The radio is a nice addition but sound isn’t great. The 10 light stages work perfectly for me and wake me up gradually. Setting the clock and alarm is relatively simple. The numbers are quite luminous at night.
Overall its a good product, I think its a bit cheap looking and feeling for the cost, but it works like it is meant to and I’m glad I got it as it does wake me up without feeling groggy.

I purchased this after my original Philips wake up light broke after 10 years. I wasn’t keen on the new round design and thought I might not be as happy with it as I was with the original light. I’ve had it for 2 days now and I’m very pleased with it and glad I purchased it. The light is bright enough to use as a bedside reading light when on full but can be turned all the way down, the brightness of the clock numbers can be adjusted, the radio is excellent and I like the choice of 2 birdsongs as the alarm. I found everything very easy to set up and use and just hope this one lasts as long as the original did!

I love this light alarm clock. I have been struggling to wake up with the dark mornings and do not like conventional alarm clocks. Too easy to turn off , and i am not keen on the sudden wake of an alarm sound. With this Phillips morning light alarm I wake properly and naturally, usually before the actual alarm sounds! Have been used the light for a few weeks now and it properly did its job. A few mins before your clock time, it will slowly increase the brightness until it reaches the highest brightness that you set.
During our winter daylight saving in Ireland, it really helped me to be awake without trouble.
-1 star, as there is no battery in the device and I have to get a socket extension in the room: offering a chargable battery will be 100% great.

Beautiful to wake up to
This is a beautiful object in itself — the design is simple and very easy on the eye. And the birdsong that goes with the sun-up light is just so nice. Loving this.
Great product but one issue with the delivery
Product is great BUT it was delivered in it’s Philips box with an amazon label on it – no outer protective packaging at all. I tested the contents and they seem to work fine but I want to give this as a gift. So a) there was no added protection for its transit and b) as I want to give it as a gift I have to leave the (quite large) amazon label on the box which really detracts from it. There’s absolutely no way I can get the label off. But I’m glad there wasn’t any damage to the contents of the box, or even the box as I have to wrap that up. I would have given 5 stars if it had been packaged properly.
Pretty Good
Really got more useful now the mornings are darker and I found the clock brightness button. The clock itself can be very bright, so finding the brightness has been excellent.
An excellent produc
I love this product. The light comes on about 15 minutes before the alarm getting brighter as the time of the alarm nears. Much nicer way to wake in the morning. The brightness of the light can be adjusted.

his may be one of the best purchases i’ve made. It complete changes the way you wake up in the morning. Instead of a sharp waking up from a iphone alarm this gradually wakes you up. The difference in how you feel for the rest of the day is remarkable.
I'd be miserable without i
I bought this years ago and have no idea how I got by without it. Still working as well as it did from day one. Only slight downside I would say is that you can only have increased brightness across 30 minutes, think I would prefer more gradual brightness across at least 45mins. It was on the pricey side at the time i bought it but I’ve used it almost every day for years
Pretty good
This replaced a much cheaper copy brand. Not a radio-controlled clock so needs resetting at the Spring and Fall equinoxes. It’s ‘smart’ enough that the dimmed button lights brighten as your fingers approach them so you can see what you’re pressing but the clock itself needs to be set by a human. Also it doesn’t gradually dim for bedtime. Other than that it’s pretty sound and sturdy.

Great for waking me up gently in the mornings. A bit fidigity to use with the settings. Hopefully they’ll come up with a smart one where you can change brightness, alarm time etc from your phone via app
Great Alarm Clock
A great little alarm clock, a number of different brightness settings, you can dim the display which is ideal. I was worried it wouldn’t wake me up, but I frequently find myself awake before the radio kicks in. All in all, a great purchase
It’s hard to decide which light alarm clock to choose, I was really happy with this one. The light comes on over a half hour period and it almost always wake me up before the birds start cheeping. You can reduce the brightness of the red light telling the time. In winter it has completely transformed my mornings and made it so much easier to face the day.
I really like this lamp – it definitely works and wakes me up much better than a sudden loud alarm! However, for the money, it feels a touch lacking. You can only have one alarm time – so no weekend settings. It is really easy to set and turn on each day but it feels a little bit manual – you have to make sure the alarm icon is on each night by pressing a button – which is easy enough to set in fairness. My other issue is that it is really lightweight – it’s not much of a grumble but with the touch sensitive buttons, the unit tends to move around the bedside table quite a bit. The light is lovely and bright on full setting. The bird noises are nice and work really well. As others have said, if the device is unplugged you immediately lose the time and alarm settings, so you have to set them again. It really should have some sort of memory for the price it is! There’s an FM radio too with an aerial if you’d rather wake to that. Overall, I’m defintely keeping it but I’m sure there are probably better value alternatives.
Perfect for dark winter mornings.
I often wake up feeling moody and tired in the winter despite getting 7-8 hours sleep. Used it for the first time this morning and woke up feeling happy and refreshed. It does what it says on the tin. I’m very happy with the fact that you can turn the clock display right down so it doesn’t disturb your sleep. It makes a very good reading light too. My only small gripe with it is that it doesnt take batteries as a back up incase of a power cut.

Time display too brigh
This alarm clock makes getting up early easy. the only thing I don’t like about it is how bright the time display is, which lights up my whole room and means that it’s now difficult to get to sleep in the first place…
Perfect for winter nights
This was great during the winter for dark mornings. Woke us up gently with the radio as a backup to make sure you are awake.
Not much use in summer as the sun is up at 5:30 so that wakes us before the alarm!
Will definitely use it again when winter and the dark mornings come back.

Great way to wakeup
I bought this alarm when it was on sale since I’d seen it recommend elsewhere. I have to say it’s been so useful. My boyfriend is usually impossible to wake up in the morning – I have to pull of the covers, push him a bit and everything. Since we got this alarm he’s either straight up with the alarm sounds (birds chirping) or woken beforehand by the light.
It’s also just a really useful light. I like putting it on when I’m cleaning the room because the light which mimics sunrise is very energizing.

I love this, it definitely wakes me up more gently and leaves me feeling more awake than a normal alarm. I still need a sound alarm (I use the radio) to get me to wake up properly, but when I’m up I’m up, not drowsy and grumpy like usual! Would be nice with a DAB radio but this one works for me.

Good alarm clock
Bought this as a gift to replace another well-known branded clock whose light was horribly bright, and had a beep that rivalled a smoke detector.
As I understand it, this can be configured for both light and sound, but all I know is when it goes off in the morning I don’t feel like I’ve been blinded by headlights anymore but can still see well enough to not put my socks on inside out, and the cuckoo sound (others are no doubt available) is gentle. The recipient still doesn’t get up on time but that’s not a fault of the clock!

This product is overall very good. Minor criticisms: the radio antenna wire is a bit naff, ruins the overall aesthetic. Also for the price you might expect there to be DAB radio, unfortunately there is only FM.
how did I cope without this!
honestly don’t know how I’ve managed to get through so many winters without this – love the fact it can be used as a lamp on the various light settings – the alarm noise could be improved but honestly that’s me being picky.
Works really well – I get up early to go to the gym before work and the gentle wake up has made so much difference certainly beats the alarm going of in a pitch black room!

It’s works. The light turns on and brighten the room and will wake you.if it doesn’t the alarm will go off few minutes later. Bit of a gimmick but thought it would be good for night shift. But went back to using my phone

I bought this alarm clock when it was on sale but it probably would have been too expensive for me otherwise. However, if you have the money and you’re looking for something that is reliable and works well, this might be the product for you. It’s cheaper than some of the other models but features everything I think is necessary. The FM/AM radio is definitely a nice feature which I use a lot!
Overall I recommend this product (even more so if it’s on sale!)

This is a really good bedside light for reading, I like the way you can adjust the brightness and its a good clear light quality. I like being woken by the sound of cuckoos HOWEVER, I didn’t take into account the fact that I sleep face down on my pillow so the lovely gradually increasing light has no effect……. Its a great product though, I would recommend to anybody who hates dark winter mornings and doesn’t sleep flat on their face like me.

I bought it two years ago and I’m still using it as an everyday alarm especially to wake up on dark winter mornings.
I bought it as I hate waking up to the sound of my iPhone, I even started disliking songs that I had set up as alarm sound. Light do not wake me up, because I move in my sleep and very often I sleep not facing the clock. As soon as I hear birds singing I wake up immediately but without shock that standard alarm clock had on me. It has radio, which I do not use and it can also be used as a bedside lamp. When my partner “s daughter is visiting us she likes to use it as a gentle lamp that helps her sleep, she does not like to sleep in complete darkness. I would recommend it to everyone.

Well built and stylish light alarm clock
The Philips wake-up light alarm is great to wake up in the morning. There are a lot of imitation ones out there, but this one is solid and absolutely beautiful on my bedside table.

I have purchased this wake up light a couple weeks ago since now I have to wake up much before the sun rises (new job!), and this is definitely a way more pleasant way to wake up. Good quality, but expensive for what it is. The alarm sounds are annoying, but maybe they should be. I wish I had bought it on black Friday as I might of given it 5 stars then.
Our alarm kept waking our baby up. We’d tried going without one, and just overslept, so we got this and it is such a lovely way to wake up. We set it so the light comes on first (it happens gradually) and then later the radio kicks in. It’s an attractive alarm clock, the display is very clear and it was simple to set up and easy to pause. My only wish was that the radio was DAB in this one for improved sound quality, but apart from that it is a great alarm clock!
Very effective at waking us up in the dark miserable winter months. Looks nicer than some of the other products available. The buttons are all touch based which can be difficult to find the right place to touch when you are semi awake!

I love this thing. I can still ignore it and snooze for too long, but it’s definitely much nicer to wake up with a progressive light than with any sudden sound or music. And the radio works well and sounds decent. I recommend it if you have to get up very early.
Has made mornings easy
I have been using this for months now and it has turned mornings from a chore into something that is easy. I can not recommend enough as an alarm clock and the radio function works great.
Sadly I know it will need replaced when the FM signal is turned off.

I was looking for a light rather than a noisy alarm as my neighbours were complaining! And this fits the bill perfectly as both the light and volume are easy to adjust.
3 years of intense use and working as the first day.
I deliberately did not buy the newer version simply because I wasn’t going to spend too much money on something I wasnt sure if it would actually work. But I was not disappointed by it, It does not look cheap or feel weird, it looks modern and quirky. It plugs in and has a aerial for the radio. It is very simple to use and clearly marked on the clock, the buttons are touch operated so require no pressure when pressing. At the top there is two volume options- lower and higher- FM for radio, left arrows for skipping back and right arrows for skipping forward. Centre to the clock is the 24hr digital clock with symbols lighting up such as a mini radio which shows when the radio is on, a mini sun which shows when the light is on and a mini bell which shows when you have an alarm set. Below this is your sun – which when you press you turn the light on and you can adjust with the – and + symbols beside it, and then the last is the bell to set the alarm. The volume buttons and the – and + adjust your settings for your sound and light whilst in use and also for your alarm so its always helpful to adjust to your preferred setting before going to bed if the radio is in use during the day and is also your alarm. The stand of the actual clock has proper buttons on either side, the left hand side is a single button which is for the digital clocks brightness so it does not disturb your sleep. on the right hand side is a clock button to manually set the time and a ‘1 2 radio’ slide setting which you just set yourself which is for your alarm. I personally have the radio as my alarm however the 1 and 2 ar ethe in built sounds to wake you up. I do believe that with this clock I wake up in a better mood, as im not being woke up by the harshness of a phone alarm its the light glow 10 mins before the alarm as the light slowly comes on and goes to full brightness and then the gradual increase of the radio that gently wakes me up. I recommend this to everyone and I absolutely love it. Maybe in the future i’ll get the upgraded version but for now I am perfectly happy with this version as it does everything I need it to do.
Excellent product and service. Wife loves it as you can adjust the display brightness to a low level which does not disturb her sleep at night and the glow and birdsong is a lovely way to wake up in the morning. After a long search we’ve found a good solution.

She said that her bedroom in the morning was as light as a summer’s day…then as she was getting ready to go to work she was shocked to discover a grey and wintery day waiting for her outside. Fabulous. Highly recommended.
I bought this because I was really struggling to get up in the dark mornings. I was slightly skeptical but decided to take the risk..so pleased I did! The light really does wake you up and I have definitely felt more awake in the mornings. 3 months on and I still get woken in the same way. I thought my body might ‘wise up’ and ignore the light but so far it hasn’t. I use the radio setting as the alarm sound, can’t comment on the effectiveness of the preset sounds as I haven’t used them. They are ‘natural’ sounds, no blaring robotic buzzing! The red light that tells the time is quite bright but you can dim it fairly low which doesn’t keep me awake at night. There is no battery so it has to be plugged in all the time to avoid losing the time and resetting.
I bought this for my girlfriend who is definitely not a morning person. The alarm wakes her up slowly over a period of about 30 minutes which is a much more relaxing start to the day when compared to the abrupt alarm call you get from the majority of alarm clocks. I have noticed an improvement in her mood in the morning and no longer have to hide from her pre-coffee. My girlfriend claims to have improved concentration during the day and more energy levels in the evening, though never enough to do the dishes after dinner.
