This bait is easy to use and does the job.
Mice very attracted to the sachets. Sachets very effective, after consuming the poison, the mice bloat up quickly and become very lethargic, before returning to their nest. No mice returned!
Worked fast and effective. Bute was taken after couple days and no mice noise ever heard since.
Used Amazon bought humane mouse traps, then electronic deterrents. After weeks of activity, a week or so after using this the activity has stopped :0(
I had what I ordered delivered at exactly the day it was meant to be delivered

My house had been bothered by a mouse for about 6 six months, this finally helped solved the problem which only took less than a week!
Used it a few times over the years, not failed ye
Worked almost straight away, not seen any unwanted pests for a few days after using
Will definitely buy again! The rodents love it and eat it really quickly even eating the package to finish the items off. Essential buy for control of these little critters.
Used as vermin control and so far with good results.
Easy to use within a week all mice were gone
This is the only product which works against the rats .
I get rid of them with this poison. And I only use 2 bags
One rat ate all 6 bags over two days but it still alive running around my attic
Edit rat is now d3ad after eating all 6 bags. Took a couple of days but he’s finally gone
It is good to have when there are rats in the house. They dwindle when it is used.
Living in a blocks of flats there is alway a chance to have rodents. I saw one one night , used this for
A
Week and I haven’t heard anything or rumbling after the first week. However I still use it as a preventative measure.
jujst does what it says, kilss rats, other rat poisons Iv tried were not good
Rats love this poison, bait went straight away and so did the rat a few days later!
With winter arriving, two rats had been running havoc around my garden, including entering my compost bin.
The poison comes in 6x small packs. I laid each one strategically around my compost bin and other parts of my garden. I placed in the open on Monday around midday. Within 24 hours, 4 out 6 packs had gone. The following 2 were taken in the following 24 hours. By Saturday, there were no signs of the rats. The poison was very effective, and thank goodness they didn’t die in my garden, but in their nest elsewhere.
Was very easy to use hopefully got ridcof the rats under my shed.
Not seen any dead rodents. Hopefully dead in the hole. All pouches were taken.
We have continual issues with mice. This poison did kill them a few years ago, the bodies rotted and stank. There was nothing we could do about it.
A few years later, they were back – but this time totally ignored the poison !
Humane traps also only work once. They must tell their kids somehow.
Finding and blocking the holes is my current ploy. Spray filler foam with wire wool embedded to stop them chewing though. It’s working so far.
It work took four bags to kill what ever it was I put five bag down still there so all gone
If you are wondering what happens. They pick up the packets and run off with them presumably to a nest. I only ever saw the rats at night and placed the packets in a wire cage big enough for the rats to enter, but too small for any cats or hedgehogs to get at. I also took them away during the day. I never saw any other animal take any interest though, so possibly safe to leave out all the time.
Product done it’s job, with some bags left over, easy to handle
Does exactly what it says, got the job done very quickly!
Seems to have done the job as I haven’t seen a mice 2 weeks after we put this under our cabinets in the kitchen.
Handy little packets rather than loose pellets, snip a hole in bag and put in place, not seen any rats since using the full pack around the garden. Can’t rate the flavour as I’ve never tasted it and the rats didn’t tell me if it was nice. 😉
Saved high cost of an exterminator got rid the rats
It took a few days, but eventually the mice took the bait. Found a dead one on the front room carpet!! The only problem is locating the dead bodies.
i put the bait down near the hole i made a small cover to keep it dry the first couple of days nothing happened then when i checked it on the third day it had been eaten i used a small plastic shallow lid to put the bait in and it worked very well there has been so sign of activity at the hole since so i hope they are all dead if they come back i will do the same again great stuff
Renovations to a dirty house up from mine caused some rats to explore my garden. I put one tray down and we haven’t seen any vermin since. Highly recommend this product as it certainly worked for us
I bought this last year as I had heard some movement (never saw the rodents) between the stud wall in my room/kitchen. I bought this as I had tried the plug in deterrents, do not waste your money on them!! After 2 days of putting this down I checked the area again and it had all gone, so had the rodents. Not heard anything since. I would make sure that where you put them is away from pets, children as I does smell strong of chemicals.
Bought these as had a mouse in my kitchen who then moved to my toilet and disappeared behind toilet seat. Left them out for about a week but they weren’t touched. So not really sure how good this item is.
Bought other poison but never worked bought this poison put 1 bag unopened down rat took the bait put one bag down next night still there next morning will leave bag out see what happens would recommend this produc
Before purchasing this product I had used shop bought products which did not work. Retail came with very clear instructions, easy to use and worked within a few days.
Two rats started visiting my garden in the daytime. I tried a rat trap which was a waste of time and money. Bought this bait and a bait box. Checked the box after a week. The bait was gone and so we’re the rats!
Worked within a few days, there was LOADS in our neighbours garden. I got a bait box and put these in, saw them go in a few times.
None in sight after 2 days!
My compost heap is sealed so no risk of hedgehogs getting in so this option was good for me. However rats had got in. Put this out in bowl, rats gone in week, just have to find them when i come to use the compost in autum…
I didn’t have a bait box so I carefully opened the little package and poured it down side of my patio where I saw a mouse and haven’t seen one since hopefully x
“There’s a mouse in my kitchen what am I gonna do” (UB40) – I had/have a mouse in my kitchen recently which I wanted to get rid of. I, first of all, tried humane traps, with Chocolate sauce as bait, but the Mouse was too smart to fall for that. Then I had to resort to putting down these poisonous seed sachets, but the mouse will still not seem to take the bait. So HOPEFULLY the little mouse has gone on to pasture new, they are sentient beings apparently, so I didn’t really want to kill it anyway
Unless you’re an expert in mice it’s hard to tell if a specific mouse dies as a consequence of eating this but boy do they love it. I’ve even seen mice fighting each other over the grains. I took it out of the sachet and distributed in a number of areas but the sachets are very user friendly if you just want to throw a few down to kill off bigger rats. If you’re worried that other animals might be attracted, I put an angled flower pot over the grains. Saw no evidence of other animals being attracted and the grains went so quick there was hardly a chance for anything else to eat them.
Does the job I’m sure we can get a cheaper if it’s not delivered to your door Instructions and packaging quite simple and safe It doesn’t say it at least I couldn’t find it but you’re not supposed to open the small packet contains the poison what’s that I’m sure some people may make up mistake
The most worrying thing is that Amazon asked me to review this product for East of Use, Value for Money and Flavour.
Flavour?
FLAVOUR??!?!?!?!?
I can’t comment on it personally, but it seems my mice liked it.
Comes in six little sachets of coloured grain which we put in the attic, in places where we could see droppings and where we’d heard scratching.
Not heard a single scrabble since.
I don’t like killing things, but it needed to be done and I’m glad it was quick for them. It’s nicer than using traps and having the poor things caught by a leg and starving to death in pain.
But as for the flavour, I couldn’t comment. Sorry.
Wow so easy to use & solved the problem quickly. I found a rat/mouse had been coming into my kitchen & helping itself to bowl fruit I kept on breakfast bar. After trying traps wic were a total waste of time. I then left the poison wiv a cple a pieces of fruit in the bowl. 1st night it ate some of the fruit & 2 pkt poison too. 2nd night, ate some fruit & 1 pkt poison. Then that was the end of the problem, great stuff
We used this alongside a slower acting bait block so I can’t be certain which of the 2 finished the job but I do know that 3 days after using this I came downstairs to a very bad smell in the kitchen and now 3 days later we have had no more activity.
We have had mice for about 3 weeks now, and they were successfully and happily eating another brand of bait block, we were essentially feeding them at this point, so we left an unopened sachet of this product alongside the daily bait block we had been leaving under the dishwasher and when we checked the next day they had got into the sachet and eaten most of it. So we left another, same story. We then left another and it is still sitting there untouched alongside their favourite bait block also untouched.
So at this point they are either full up from all the poison and having a big sleep, are onto us or they have died. The smell suggests the latter.
I can’t be certain which of the two did the deed and I don’t know how many we even had (extensive googling tells me probably at least half a dozen, despite only ever seeing one).
I’ll update my review when I have confirmation that we are free of Mickey and the gang, but at the very least they definitely eat this and I will buy more if needed.
A rat took residency under my compost bin. I didn’t have a bait box so I just left 3 sachets unopened around the entry point. After a few days the sachets were gone. I wasn’t sure it was working as I knew the rat was still active so I put down the last 3 sachets. A few more days passed & the 3 sachets were untouched. I was losing trust when after 2 more days the rat turned up motionless on the patio. It was huge. Being results driven, yes I am impressed with this product. I will buy again & I will recommend to friends. I still have 3 sachets left.
We have a battle with a family of rats just now and my lord they are smart. The infestation started in our shed since we had just moved in and had no bins thus had to put rubbish bags in there. Once we realised we had rats we started to place bin bags of rubbish high up on shelving in the shed and placed the sachets of poison on the ground. Turns out rats can climb even the most difficult of terrain and still managed to rip the bags apart high up. We learned our lesson and maintained a daily trip to the tip with our rubbish while keeping the poison were it lay.
3 Weeks later and we are pretty much rid of them. One by one the sachets of poison were ripped open and eaten and gradually all the usual signs of rats had vanished. They basically worked.
Tip: Read the instructions. Don’t open the sachets the rats will rip them open themselves. Being new to this kind of thing i was too eager and i ripped the first bag open spreading the poison in a small area afterwards realising that was a super dumb thing to do and i could have harmed myself.
As a first time requirement, although the description says this bait is easy to use in a bait station, it doesn’t say that you need one so it wasn’t until I received the bait and read the instructions that I knew I should have ordered one at the same time. I’ve yet to use it so don’t know how efficient it will be – am a little concerned that the star ratings include one for flavour. I will NOT be tasting so don’t know what the flavour’s like! As long as the rats in my garden like it I don’t care.
The rats were living under the paving slabs in my garden. They were doing no harm, they weren’t living in the sewer so they weren’t diseased. They were just living their life in a place they had found that was warm and dry. But society said no. Society said you’re surrounded by elderly in sheltered bungalows and these rats can’t live here. I tried humane traps, I tried peppermint spray, I tried onions. They stayed. So I was forced to do this. The guilt is overwhelming. I am ashamed that I had to resort to this. Those rats were doing no harm.
But this was very effective. I found six dead rats in the garden in the space of one day. I hope it was quick and painless. I hate myself.
I had a plague of mice in my kitchen, mouse crap everywhere. Tried traps of various designs, caught two, then thay all wised up. However, when the poison went down they couldn’t get enough of it and one by one they all disappeared. I video’d them with Blink cameras as they repeatedly took turn to feed on it. Have since blocked up all possible entry points to ensure no further intrusions and I’m Mouse free once again. The poison did the trick though.
This DID kill the mice quickly, gone within a week, they wouldn’t eat anything in the loft so I put this in traps around the garden. Mice lapped it up and we’re soon dead!!! Amazing how far they travel for such small creatures, a shame but couldn’t have them in the lof
Too early to report on effectiveness so only 4 stars but fairly straightforward to use. Placed two sachets in a bait box placed on the ground near the bird table where a rat was recently seen. Lesson learned is to avoid getting bird food scattered around. We live in a rural setting and the rat appears to be living in a boundary drystone dyke. Important to deal with this before there start breeding.
We actually quite liked our ratto’s and didn’t mind seeing them occasionally raid our bird feeders, but whe we looked out one night and saw seven of them we had to make the decision to do something about it.
The poison was cheap and easy to use. I simply stuck it in one of the deeper rat holes knowing they would find it soon enough, and sure enough they did.
Were a couple of weeks later and no rats.
The worst thing about this poison is that it’s…well…poison, and we had to watch one ratto stagger out of his hole and go through his death rattle before collapsing in the middle of the lawn.
Circle of life I guess
First two days, appeared to have no effect.
Day 1, all bait taken.
Day 2, all bait taken. Do they like it? Flavour might be nice (I didn’t try it!)
Day 3, most of the bait taken
Day 4, nearly all the bait gone.
Day 5, on a piece of cardboard 15″ square, sprinkled flour then put the bait on top. In the morning no footprints, no bait gone.
So it took 5 days but only used less than 2 sachets of the bait. This product certainly works but don’t let peta anywhere near it, it would do them no good at all.
Worked well, I’m armed and dangerous for the next mouse incursion!
I started hearing some gnawing behind the skirting board, which excited my cat. I initially thought the noise was from my neighbours renovating, but then I heard gnawing on the other side of the house, but couldn’t work out if it was behind the skirting board or underneath.
Turns out the grating at the front of my house leading to the foundations, was broken and I realised mice were beginning to camp out underneath my house.
I placed 1 bag at the entrance of the foundations and checked the next morning. It had been taken. I covered the hole up with a brick and put another bag outside. No more gnawing since. The other bag has been outside for a month now and hasn’t been taken by anything, so it’s killed them all good.
Not sure why I’m asked to rate the flavour :D, but I’m sure it tasted nice to the mice, as they took a whole bag.
This is a great product but you have to be prepared for the fact that the dead mouse could end up anywhere. Ours ended up in a reasonably accessible space but what took us there was the smell. It was a pungent yet dull smell. Imagine if the mouse had ended up in a non accessible space.
So although the product is excellent (it worked within 2 days), I think my preference is the traditional mouse trap. Even these don’t always work but we did catch one within a day of putting it out with bait (peanut butter) and it was easier to remove.
This is, however, still a fantastic product.
Our bird table was being invaded by at least eight rats, on a daily basis (coming from next doors garden). I put a tray of the poison where they had been digging to get under the fence (covered by a solid bucket weighted down by bricks). After a couple of days they took the bait and then I started to see fewer and fewer rats. I kept replacing the bait until eventually, no more rats.
I wouldn’t have killed them if I hadn’t seen so many young rats coming right up to out patio doors. I couldn’t risk them coming inside the house, especially as it’s winter and they might want some warmth.
Not a magic bullet, but it does work….not messy like traps, works better in winter as that is the time they head indoors more looking for food, works but not as good in summer as I figure there’s plenty of other things they would rather eat more readily available in summer….once in while will find dead one on floor, poison got to them before they could get outside…. “their natural instinct is to go outside to die” as per the professional Exterminator told me, and this is what he said they use.
So I have had mice in my council flat wall for a couple of weeks called out the council pest control they said I had to wait three weeks to hear back from them by then they would’ve been in the property so had to look for something to control them saw this and there was a lot of good reviews bought it used it right away after a week or so I didn’t hear anything in the walls so they had finally gone after two weeks of noise in my bedroom wall I can finally sleep until today more returned so we’ll be buying more still got some left will use that then buy more hopefully this works agai
We have a large amount of decking, which is bordered by chippings. We always know when we have the occasional presence of rats, as they make holes in the chippings when emerging from under the decking. The council rodent catcher would attend, leave poison in the respective holes, and return a week later. He would keep returning until the bag of poison had not been touched, thereby revealing that they had died. It was only a couple of rats. We were not overrun with them and we never saw them. Sometimes he would make 2-3 visits before the holes ceased to appear. I often wondered as to the effectiveness of the poison that he was using.
Last week a hole appeared. I decided to do it myself. I read the Amazon reviews and tried Ratkil poison. It worked in just one day with one treatment. It is very effective. No more holes.
I will not be using the council again. I can only assume that the poison they use is quite weak. They are perhaps governed by ‘health & safety’ issues on not using strong poison.
However, if you are a householder, and have grand-children visiting, you want something like this dealt with as soon as possible.
I would highly recommend Ratkil. I have ordered more to keep in readiness for the Spring.
I didn’t notice it at the time and therefore wasn’t sure if I’d caught the bag of bird food on a sharp edge or something else as I put it away in the shed. A few days later I noticed a small leak, so taped it up only to discover another and another systematically appearing. I knew then I should have sieved the bag into a more robust container but too late, ‘cos like Arnie…..”I’ll be back” and they were ! So this poison grain was purchased and duly distributed to the four corners and elsewhere. Within a short matter of time and having used only two sachets to date, the bottom line is ‘mousey gone’ leaving a small mound of bait behind which is why I have only given this product 1 star on Flavour – presumably they didn’t like it !!!
I’ve been using this for a while now. Used to have a huge problem with rats when I first moved in. They were here before me. After trying other brands, this is the one that has worked.
It must taste good. I’ve known them to take 3 bags in a day. I hate to kill anything but they were having very loud noisy parties day and night with no fear. I know they are consuming as they do leave the empty bags for me.
I’m pleased to say that we only get the odd visitor now and again. Not so noisy, Peace at last.
The only downside is this. Death under the floorboards or in the wall cavities leaves a very unpleasant smell. I place a dish with vinegar under the kitchen sink to absorb the smell.
Yup you can leave it in the packet for the critter to rip apart, or open the packet and have the critter eat the loose grain. The key here is if you know you have an issue; the sealed packet will stay fresher longer so, if its a preventative measure, the sealed packet approach is maybe best
I had a rogue mouse in my attic. Placed this bait loose in an open dish outside its packet (no headaches), the following day the bait had gone – replaced it but it has not been touched since. Mouse has not been evident after eating the grain, don’t know where it died but certainly not within the house
RIP mouse
After a week of laying monster rat traps that only managed to catch a small mouse, the experts came back and baited the entire house.
The night the bait was laid down I heard a rat under the kitchen sink.
By this point I had cut off all of its food supplies in the kitchen by proofing the units and putting all my food into rat proof containers (it had taken days!).
It seems the combination of not having any food and having only access to one unit seemed to work! The rat obviously sniffed out the nice sachet of food that had a picture of him on it and decided to take a nibble. Yum yum.
In the end, I don’t know if it was this that poisoned it/them or all the bait that the experts put down, but that was the last I heard of any rats in my house. Fingers crossed.
I’ve left the sachet exactly where it was, in case any cousins would like some
Brutal but did the job. Night after night they took them away but it slowed and then we had a three week period of the the worst smell imaginable and then the flymageddon happened. Luckily all in our garage but even so it was grim. And then the fly babies emerged all deformed was proper freaky. Main point though is la rat familia is no more and no sign since.
We made real sure to keep away from the dog too and kept them in a place only the rats could access. Worth the money but a nasty business once the deed is done
I put this packages down all over the ground floor of the house, under cupboards, inside cupboards, under appliances, in the living room under sofas and sideboard etc. The mice never touched it, not even once. Having taken some advice from the experts, I moved them all to new locations…they STILL never touched it. The house has never been so clean as I’m absolutely paranoid about seeing mice running around all the time so the vacuum cleaner is on more than it’s off. They’ve not been at the food in the cupboards, it’s all stored in plastic tupperware containers so it’s not even as if they have another food source. I have no idea and I STILL have mice, no doubt breeding at some phenomenal and alarming rate!
On a side note, the Amazon rating system for this product has rating field for flavour. That was hilarious, are we supposed to rate the flavour after we tried the product??? Gee! mine was spaghetti Bolognese flavour but I’m I’m in hospital now cause I wasn’t supposed to taste mouse and rat poison. As for the mouse itself, I hope I don’t see it again to ask his opinion about the flavour.
Well I was abit sceptical about using this after trying everything else to get rid of the rats I used this as my last resort. I had a little family of rats in my back garden that had made a home after trying many friendly options nothing worked . You get 6 little bags in one . I placed two of the bags every night (I didn’t open the bag ) each morning they had gone so placed another two e.t.c after using 10 bags in-total the last two had been left so I’m presuming the rats have gone to rat heaven my children can now finally play .
Well it seems to have done the job, no new holes under the decking where rat was coming out of. I emptied sachet into a dog poo bag & mixed it with peanut butter & rat would take it pretty straight away but the last one hasn’t been touched so I assume rat is no longer! Please be mindful of using this around other animals or wildlife though
I am hoping the rats & mice dissapeared because of this so I will guess they died peacefully somewhere as I don’t see them anymore. As much as I hate to use poison, I can’t live with rats and mice. It seems this did the job, after 2 or 3 days I didn’t see any at all and they used to come out during the day as well without any problems even been a bit aggresive. Even though it says not to open the bags, I opened it as I was too scared that they will grab it and spread poison everywhere. I added a few here and there, under the shed, under decking, etc so other animals won’t be able to get to it. Value for money 5 out of 5 and it was really easy to use. Remember to use gloves and wash your hands after that.
We had a major infestation starting with tiny mice and then what looked like small rats in March who got into our kitchen extension through a bbq gas pipe egress hole our builders failed to seal in an external cavity wall.
We tried all sorts of other approaches over 4 weeks including humane traps, snap traps, glue traps and poisoned bait boxes but they were all basically useless, during which the mice and rats multiplied and ran riot. We caught one baby mouse in a humane trap with sesame seeds and another baby in a snap trap with peanut butter, meanwhile not just mice but rats invaded our and nested under the floorboards and multiplied until it was a rodent disco party every night.
This stuff killed them all in 3 days.
Just open 1 sachet every day and sprinkle in places where you know the rodents frequent like under kitchen cabinets, behind the fridge, under the sofa etc. They will eat it all, so replace every night. After 3 nights of staying up late watching TV on silent with subtitle, I did not hear or see any more of the bastards.
Job done.
I have not seen any dead bodies yet on night 4 so don’t know where they are but no smell so perhaps they went out side to die.
I didn’t wanna have to do this, but you’ve forced my hand, Mr. Mouse.
They’ve gobbled it all up. Now we wait.
Oh, the top review is wrong btw, this poison (Brodifacoum) is a powerful anticoagulant that also increases blood vessel permeability, causing progressively worsening internal bleeding — this is what kills the rodents after a few days, not dehydration.
Easy to administer in small packages that can be handled simple and with care. Green colour showed that this bait was certainly well liked and soon taken up! Had to buy a second lot but apparently the rats have smartly moved elsewhere although only 1 body and a very sick large rat observed. So clearly works well and speedily.
Thank you.
Used it twice and so far no more sightings or evidence of the rat(s). Previously used Rodex 25. That seemed to get eaten a lot more readily and took quite some time before the rat munchers stopped munching.. Not sure whether the Ratkil is more effective in doing its job or the rat(s) that we did have didn’t like it and have just moved on. Of the two baiting’s the first lot of Ratkil went from the dishes(presumably eaten by the rat(s)) but then when replaced on the second day has not been touched. I hope this means the Ratkil has done its job.
I have tried other well known baits with limited results, but this product has worked extremely well from the outset.
Very happy to recommend and will continue to keep a few spare packs, just in case the rats return.
Really impressed.
