I bought this for my kids gaming computer and they love it. Easy to use and the clicks sounds are not as loud as other buyer reviews have stated. It could appear to be loud coming from a rubber dome or non- mechanical keyboard but I have a razer black widow, a cooler master quick fire tkl (brown switches) and a Logitech 710+ with cherry Mx browns and this keyboard is not that much louder – I would put it equal to the razer Blackwidow (green switches).
The RGB brightness is fine, definitely not blinding but bright enough in both dark and light settings for the RGB appeal.

I think that this keyboard for me is really greate, very sturdy and durable. it is my first mecahincal keyboard and i really like it. i like the way it sounds and feel. the RGB is awesome as well!
The fit and finish of the Redragon keyboard exceeded expectation. The keys have no “wobble” at all, and the illumination is well implemented.
I tend to prefer wired keyboards over wireless ones, so this fit my needs.
The keys do produce a bit of clatter but that is to be expected with the class of key switches used. If your current keyboard has short-throw, chicklet keys, you’ll need to get used to the extra “feedback” and the longer key travel.
The only slightly negative issue is that the keyboard illumination doesn’t dim/switch off when the computer sleeps. Given the overall quality of the unit, the not-sleeping thing is pretty trivial.
I was a bit reluctant but as it was recommended by pcbuilder I had to give it ago since I planned for my new PC unit to be heavy on the gaming side.
I have to say, it was worth it, it’s stylish, light’s up beautifully and feels sturdy and compact, which is good because I don’t have a lot of desk space.
The only thing about it is the key alignment being US format, not UK which I’m most used to, which puzzled me at first, and the lack of a number pad. But one can get used to it. I will say it is rather noisy in terms of key presses which may bother some but not me.
I loved the tkl design. The frame was a nice quality metal, way better then those tacky cheap design iv seen from keyboreds of the same price.

I’m 75 and an experienced typist. Keyboards are important to me, for their feel, ease to use, durability. I’ve been through several keyboards for my computer, wearing them out. I have been using this keyboard for about a week. I ordered it for size and price. Size, in that I have a quite small desk and needed a keyboard with a small footprint. Price, well it is both midrange and lowrange, depending on what you measure it against. The keyboard fits perfectly but the keys are standard size despite the small keyboard size. It is easy to type on. While it does not have the specific feel of an old typewriter/mechanical keyboard, it is far better than a standard keyboard and notebook. You feel each stroke, and it is comfortable, which is important to me, as I do a lot of typing. The keyboard plugged in and started with nothing further needed. The labelling of the keys is a large size and easy to read, plus I like the colours! So I give this keyboard a high rating. Only a Selectric would get higher!
This KB came highly recommended as a great starter for someone wanting to get into the world of mechanical keyboards. Seeing as I am in that bracket I can say that I agree! It gives you a lot of what makes MKBs appealing for a very good price. I’ll give the positives first but I do have some gripes. It’s very solidly built, like you could kill somebody with this thing. The light modes and customization are very nice for a sub 50 dollar KB and on that note the RGB (for the most part) is very bright and vivid! And probably the biggest appeal to me as someone starting off is that this is hot swappable which allows you to get a feel of what switches you really like without much hassle. Feels great to type on and with the legs out is very grippy to whatever surface you have it laying on.
Now for my gripes, and these are less quality and more my opinion. For being a wired kb a braided cable would be a much appreciated improvement. I know this is personal but I hate the bar with the logo on it so much, and I wish this just wasn’t a thing on the kb at all. It’s garish like the annoying decals a dealership puts on the car you’re paying for. The keycaps aren’t the worst but they block a lot of the RGB light which getting new keycaps will reveal to you. All the colors are nice on the RGB EXCEPT white, which is almost lavender with the stock keycaps. And probably the worst thing about this keyboard is that it does not have a working driver to customize it’s RGB in a program. It just hasn’t been fixed by Red Dragon at all.

Now as I type this, I am using my Redragon K552 RGB Gaming Keyboard which works beautifully and the RGB is phenomenal for a low-cost mechanical keyboard. One problem I do have though is the ringing after my keystrokes, the harder you hit your keys, the louder this sound is, it is a lot more noticeable if you type a lot. For gaming it is superb and I highly recommend, however for typing I do not. Since I listen to music or am talking to friends through headphones I don’t notice them as often but it annoys me to know that it exists. However, for a $40 mechanical keyboard, I can’t say I am disappointed. Just please be aware that this problem may well happen with your keyboard.

I love the clickity-clack of a mechanical keyboard. Brings back so many memories, and it’s just so satisfying. So when I set out to find one, I didn’t expect to find much available in a price-range that I was willing to pay. Enter the RedDragon. This keyboard sounds fantastic. The key travel, and general typing feels fantastic, and I’ve won many a battle royal whilst using it (not as many as I would like, but a good number). I also use it for work now that I’m working from home, and as satisfying as the clicks are to me, no one on my conference calls can hear it. I’ve been told by friends that it’s an “entry” level mechanical keyboard, but it more than meets my expectations. One friend told me that to enter into the world of custom built can sometimes move up the cost scale to north of $2000. I could never imagine paying that much for a keyboard, so I’m happy that RedDragon is out there for people like me, who are enthusiats, but not willing to graduate financially to fanatics.
It perfectly fits into my new gaming setup, not to mention the RGB!! The lighting effects and colours are incredible. It is the mechanical keyboard I was always planning on buying. Reviews also told me the pros to this wonderful keyboard, which stand correct! Awesome keyboard and I’d recommend this to another gamer if I had the choice.
Purchased this keyboard during black friday as it was a good deal, was surprised at how good the RGB was on the keyboard and its many effects. Build quality is okay mostly plastic but with an aluminum backplate and please note if buying the blue switches are extremely loud so i would not recommend if you live with anyone who would be bothered by it. Otherwise good product for the price, recommend it.
Nice keyboard, US layout takes a bit of getting used to for me personally but can’t be helped. Switches are great but very VERY clicky and loud.
Great keyboard if you don’t work around anyone
My daughter tried my keyboard and is getting one just like mine. I ordered a different model for my husband. He needed programmable macros and this one does not have 10 key or programmable macros. He does use 10 key. This seems to be a good company based on my past experience with their other products. This keyboard appears to be better made than any keyboard I have owned. It takes up less space and I never use the 10 key on keyboards. I needed a smaller keyboard because I have a Midi and a pen tablet taking up real-estate on my desk. I am able to game longer without having to rest my hands.
I had no problem learning to setup the lights like I wanted. There are way more options than I expected. I’m really happy I got the RGB model. The included manual mentioned software and a site but I learned this model is plug and play and doesn’t need an app to use. There was different site for the products on Amazon and it listed as plug and play 100%. If you loose the manual, its on site with instructions on changing and setting up the keyboard with key commands. The different model I got my husband had a driver there and I was able to verify that before I ordered his model.
We have all been using the Perdition Mouse M901 for a while. We loved the mice and they have lasted. My daughters is the very first model and its its still great and she games all the time. Also its nice that my keyboard and mouse kinda match and look good together. My desk looks so much better with these on it.
The keyboard feels great overall, the key caps, switchs and the frame is great for the price and would recommed for fortnite and other fast games
Bought for my grandson, who was very pleased , replacing a larger keyboard .
My main problem is the ‘ping’ coming from the mounting plate though, very loud and obnoxious, but maybe others don’t have this issue. The overall looks are pretty standard, but the RD nameplate is also a bit unsightly.

You can imagine the surprise when i opened the Amazon package expecting a regular office keyboard and this otherworldly device was in its place. Even though it was an error in the purchasing process, I was up against a hard deadline to finish a project and so there was no time to return the keyboard – I decided to use it after asking myself “It can’t be that much different, can it?”….Oh….Oh yes it can.

Little did I know how wrong I was and it became evident the moment I plugged it in and gave it life. Not power, but life – Instantaneously the keyboard hummed to life, and similar to Gandalf the White casting light from his staff while charging down the hill to Helm’s Deep on the first light of the fifth day, the keyboard blinded me as it cast its red light from its perch on my standing desk. Quickly I regained my posture, but it was too late, my curiosity was piqued. I pulled out the owner’s manual and to find answers but it read more like a lost scroll from Morrowind. Deep in the manual I was able to find a single recognizable word – “”. Ah yes, finally I had a name- the Red dragon. Mistakenly I mumbled its name and, looking back, this must have been some incantation and like the Book of Amun-Ra I was possessed.

Since that day, my coworkers opinions of me soured. They blamed me for disturbing the peace in the mornings. Instead of songbirds to lift your mood in the morning all they heard was my overwhelming CLICKY CLICKY CLICK. But it was music to my hears. They began to avoid my work space even after i would greet them with “GoCLICKod MorniCLICKg CLACK guys CLICK CLICK”. I don’t know why. Your brain begins to filter it all out after the first ten thousand or so clicks. Though I admit, there are times when the clicking doesn’t stop. Like an addiction it is always there; waiting for your moment of weakness to once again enthrall you in its darkness.

– Def go with the one that includes the num pad though. Didn’t realize how much i used it until i didn’t have one.

In terms of Backlight Effects –
It is single backlight but has few animated effects built in and few game presets/preference built in which you can activate for those games.
Macanical Experience –
This is first time I have baught macanical keyboard and no idea how it feels for cherry switch but for me this one has nice clucky feedback and sound is nice clucky and sharp.
Overall I am very much happy with this keyboard, it is exactly the way seller has described.

The keyboard is not too loud, it is also extremely satisfying to press the keys, and this makes it a joy to game with.
There was no seal on the box, Keyboard was poorly packed and one of the keys came out of it’s socket and was rumbling inside the box when it arrived. So it was obviously a returned product. Decided to keep it since I did not notice any issues with the keyboard.
All the blue switches are consistent and make the same sound. which wasn’t the case with my previous keyboards.
The keyboard feels a lot sturdier and heavier than the previous ones.
Keycaps are well finished and don’t have any rough edges, AntEsports MK3400W had horrible quality keycaps.
No Numpad, Which is a plus for me because i have a small desk and i play games on higher than average DPIs.
Rubber feet on all 4 sides. CosmicByte one had only 2 while antesports had none so the keyboard kept slipping and moving on the desk.
Height can be increased with the 2 risers in the bottom like all keyboards, But they’re of very good quality and are spring loaded, which gives a satisfying and premium feel to the keyboard.
Keyboard has On-Board memory. Every light mode you set will stay after you shut down the pc and turn back on. none of my previous keyboards had this.
No companion app but you can illuminate individual keys on the keyboard via some key combinations. This is a huge feature in this price range.
Cable is not braided. both cosmicbyte and antesports had braided keyboards.
KeyCap puller, Manual and a Redragon logo sticker is included with the keyboard, which is nice!
All the keys are well lit under max brightness. Some keys like PageUp, PageDown don’t look good if you set the brightness all the way down.
Mine didn’t come with Hot swapable switches. but my friend has the same exact keyboard which was bought 3 years ago, it has hot swapable switches which means switches are easier to replace if one or 2 are faulty and you also have the freedom of replacing the switches to brown or red switches if needed.

Brilliant keyboard for a very affordable price, has a very nice mechanical feel and the RGB adds a very nice touch with lots of different modes, the one issue I do have is that there is no solid white mode (this is a very minor issue).

Despite putting this as 4-stars in my review (which means pretty good), this keyboard is actually not meant for me, as it is a very loud keyboard.
There are many types of keyboards. Generally we steer away from the non-mechanical keyboard… which uses a rubber dome that creates its resistance. Mechanical keyboards use physical, actual switches, and there are 3 main categories for mechanical keyboards: Tactile-clicky (which is this keyboard), Tactile-quiet, and Linear.
I’ve learned that this is what is called a Tactile-Clicky keyboard. Cherry MX calls this “Blue”… It is the loudest-of-the-loud variant. The keys click with every keystroke; Even when applying gentle pressure onto a key, you will find that it is intentionally made to produce the clicking sounds.
This is however unnecessarily loud. Additionally, when you’re typing on this keyboard, you can hear the ringing of metal; which if I’m correct, comes from the springs. I think that not only would typing on this be intrusive to others near you who will no doubt hear you, but the noise it produces is also going to be distracting in moments where you’ll be just trying to enjoy a game.
However, this keyboard has many pros: It seems to be of very high quality; it is compact and orderly. As far as I can tell, Redragon makes solid keyboards. But also, as Bob Barker would say, the price is right. There are two reasons why I bought this keyboard… the prices being one of them. The other is that, as I saw in the pictures, there is not much bottom light, and the LED is primarily focused on making the letters visible. That is the right use of LED, and I give this keyboard props for that since I am not one who cares for light to shine in extra places where not necessary. Because of that, this Redragon keyboard is recommendable.
In the end, it comes down to preferences and what you’re looking for in a keyboard. But for me, this Cherry MX Blue, Tactile-Clicky keyboard is way too loud for me.

the switches feel nice and have a very tactile click as per the usual for blue style switches. I don’t have much experience but I really like the feel of mechanical style keyboards I’ve spent my whole life typing on membrane keyboards and this is just better hands down.

While I use a Corsair K70, I bought this to upgrade my brother from an older membrane keyboard and here are my impressions.
– The keyboard has actual mechanical keys which is great at this pricepoint, they are supposed to be the equivalent of MX-Blues, but the pressure curve feels different.
– The mechanical keys are also somewhat inconsistent, with side-by-side keys making different noises and feels.
The keys are louder then MX-blues.
– The keycaps appear bigger, but as a result, feel closer together making it harder to type.
Overall, a good mechanical keyboard for this price, but if you have the money, actual MX-Blues are easier to type on and far more consistent, not to mention probably more durable in the long-term.

The blue keys feel excellent and give a nice click. Unfortunately, the keys also make a bottoming out noise (which is common on these types of keyboards). This is the noise of the key cap hitting the top of the keyboard (you can hear this same noise on some membrane keyboards). Of course, this is what rubber O-Rings are made for. Once installed, the keys no longer bottom out on the top of the keyboard, and all you hear is the nice soft click of the blue switches.
Something I would like to address is the RGB per-key issue. I can say definitely that this keyboard does have RGB per key (as you can see in the pictures). There are two ways to program the keys.
1. Get the software. Look through the reviews. Two people have posted the download link for the English version of the software. Apparently it’s on the Brazilian website.
Once you have the software, run it and then press “[FN] [Tild]” (the squiggle in the top left corner). When this is done, you will see the two red lights beside the logo on the keyboard start to flash. You are now in programming mode. In the pictures, you can see one that has “Customize” shown as an option. This option will not show up unless the keyboard is in programming mode.
At this point, you can select a colour, and then click on the key you want to change to that colour. You can see the software has profiles, but also it has “custom 1-6” as well as some pre-made templates (they are overly simple and I believe they were just included as examples). Now, the software seems a little buggy to me, because once you shut off programming mode (by hitting fn tild again) you will see your customization has been saved to the keyboard. However, if you go back into programming mode and open the software again, you may not see your customization in the software. I had to click on profile 2, and then profile 1 again to get my customization to show up in the software.
At this point, you’re on your own. This is about as much as I have figured out for programming via the software.
2. Just use the keyboard:
You can just press ([FN] [Tild]) to go into programming mode, and then [FN] [Right Arrow] to select a colour. You will see the colour of the tild key change, and that is the colour you will get if you press another key. You can set up the entire keyboard like this, and press FN Tild again when you’re done to save the customization.
Unfortunately, I am not sure how to load the profiles from the keyboard without using the software.
So, for now, I have made two profiles. One is for FPS games (WSAD and a few other keys) with the movement in red, jump and duck in yellow, map in teal, and a few other functions in blue.
The second profile I made is just an all purple backlight (Red, green and blue are so last year).
Note, you can also use pre-set modes for assorted colour effects by holding in FN and hitting INS, HOME, PGUP, DEL, END and PGDN. You can also shut the keys off if you prefer. I am sure there are other functions I have not found yet. I really wish they would make some English instructions.
Having use these exact switches for two years, and my buddy is also using a similar mechanical Rainbow keyboard with the same blue keys for one year, I can attest that the keys are excellent. I can see a couple of reviews where people complain that the keys start to stick after a while (one guy said once the warranty was up), but these keys are good for something like 2-million uses, so I think the people who have had problems are an exception. Note that the Rubber O-Rings may have an effect on this. I am using them, but my buddy is not.
Since I have spare switches here, I will have no problem replacing a switch if one goes bad.
In fact, as you can see in the pictures, I put a brown switch beside one of the blues so you see they are exactly the same. I have a box of blue switches, and an small assortment of red, brown, blue and black switches I can use if I need them. In fact, my entire other keyboard can be used for spare parts.
Sure, the software is sort of cruddy, and there are no instructions so you’re basically on your own to figure out how everything works, but seriously, where else are you going to get a real RGB per-key keyboard with real mechanical switches for under $60?
I took one star off for the basic software, no instructions and not being able to remove the switches without desoldering. Remember, if you want a vastly quieter experience, purchase some rubber O-Rings here on Amazon, and install them under each keycap.

I contacted the seller regarding removing the switches. They say that you can remove them, but a lot of force is required. I emailed them back and asked how much force was required, if they had ever removed one, and if they could send me a picture of a keyboard with a switch removed. They only responded that they cannot tell me how much force is required, and that they would replace it if there were any issues.
I have been a computer engineering technologist working in electronics for 25-years. My old keyboard has removable switches and they are not hard to remove. After their initial response I again tried to remove a switch, but no way will they come off. I have the correct tool that came with my old keyboard, and I actually bent the tool trying to remove a switch (I’m glad I did not wreck the switch).
Unless someone can show me a keyboard with a removed switch, I have to say that these switches are not removable. I would be happy to change my opinion if anyone can offer any evidence these switches come off without requiring desoldering.
I’m still getting used to this board, so I may update this with an extra star in time. So far so good, the switches are wonderful if you want something loud, and I mean LOUD! These are Outemu switches, which are clones of Cherry MX Blues. These are definitely louder than Cherry’s, so just be aware. If you want a clicky, tactile switch, these are the ones. Key caps are nice, I think maybe a bit more curve to them could have done them justice, but I’m not complaining. No mush with these, you’ll want an accurate, straight type of depress to get the most out of this key board. May have to raise your key punches a bit more than typical boards where you can sort of roll over to the next key instead of striking with command that’s required for accurate strokes with this key board. Again, I’m still getting used to it and the tall key caps, so this may be on my part. The RBG choices are plentiful and beautiful, from solid colors to rainbow, and even changing direction, you can’t go wrong if you like colors. The key caps themselves light up, as well as a boarder around the keys. Lighting level is adjustable as well. So far, for the price, I’m beyond satisfied. I mentioned this in another review, but you can not go wrong with Redragon if you want to avoid paying double, sometimes triple the cost for a good key board. One tier adjustable height with legs, built in cord board side, but there’s screws so I assume you could detach the cable from the board if you so choose. F1 through F12 are your media controls if thats what you’re looking for. Overall, I recommend this board by far if you want something clicky, tactile, and loud. If you want a similar feel but quieter, take a look at Browns and other switches. Oh and it does not bend, quality is top notch for the price, and I’m not saying that as if you should expect a compromise in quality, this is a fine product and worth every dollar.

I have been looking for a compact “clicky” style keyboard for while, but didn’t want to pay the crazy prices most of the big name companies are asking for similar keyboards. I read lots of positive reviews for this keyboard but was unsure due to the price. How could they produce a great keyboard like that for so much less than everyone else? Well they did. I replaced a big name $160 keyboard for this one and don’t regret it what so ever.
Very clicky, if that is what you are looking for. The model I got has the blue switches which I enjoy.
Build quality is very good. Keyboard has good weight to it and the leds in it are bright and colorful.
This keyboard has no added software which is good or bad depending on what you are looking for. Personally, I don’t need another piece of software on my computer to run the lights on the keyboard. If I want to change the colors or pattern, you simply hold down a certain set of keys to scroll through all the options. And there are a ton of options available. It is pretty easy to use. It isn’t as fancy as the programs you can install like with other big name keyboard, but I am good with it. And the vast majority of people won’t bother to change the color/pattern after they find one they like. So why bother installing a program? And with no program on the computer, the keyboard will keep all your settings even if unplugged and used on another computer. Which is a great feature some other keyboards do not have.
Great keyboard and way worth it for the money. I will not be switching back to my other keyboard which is more than double the price I paid this one.

On initial inspection, I was impressed with the quality of the Redragon K552. The keycaps seem to be high quality and the switches housed beneath are close to that of an MX Cherry. I also found the LED quality to be quite good. Overall, the keyboard punched above its price point!
However, I ended up replacing the keyboard with a HyperX Alloy FPS Pro because I found the Redragon obnoxiously loud. In fact, I think it’s one of the loudest mechanical keyboards I’ve ever used. I don’t believe it’s caused by the switches, but rather the clunk of the keycap hitting the backplate. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great value TKL mechanical keyboard, I just couldn’t live with the noise.

Now on to WHY I like this keyboard:
– it’s cheap! Like 7 fancy drinks from Starbucks cheap.
– The switches are great! It’s a mechanical keyboard in a true sense: great tactile feedback and great press. very loud (great of you want to annoy a coworker at work, just saying), but not so loud that you’d think it’s louder than a standard mechanical keyboard.
– The switches feel sturdy. They don’t feel cheap at all.
– The back lighting is just the right intensity. Each press is satisfying – I love leaving it keyboard backlight on when my monitor is off, it’s that good!
– I do like how you can adjust the brightness of the light or you can just turn them off.
Things to consider:
– It may annoy your significant other
– The LEDs will not stay at your setting once you turn your computer on. You will need to adjust it every time. (Or maybe there is a setting I don’t know of…)
Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this keyboard to anyone looking to save a few dollars.

This, the Aukey and the Eagle-Tec are the best cheap mechanicals out there. This one’s super solid but there’s this ‘KA CHUNK” sound that resonates within the keyboard that’s outside the normal click of the outemo. It’s sounds like a trigger from the old Nintendo Blaster.
Also I like a plain and simple white backlight and it’s two whitish options are either yellowish for pinkish and for some reason very hard on my eyes. And that’s why I had to let it go.
Outside of those two things this keyboard it great!
Youtube Reviewers recommend this mechanical keyboard as a great cheap option and they were right. It is rock solid for the price. Apprehensively purchased this for my son to replace an old membrane worn out kb as a stocking stuffer and was shocked at the weight and quality of the build for $32 on sale. My other son has a Logitech G810 and it’s obviously great (better) but for the fractional price on this Redragon alternative you can’t go wrong if that’s your price range for a mech. The backlit red led makes it that much better.
Amazon shipped it in its own box as protection which surprised me at first but it arrived fine anyways. I don’t think they want to waste the packaging at this price and that is understandable.
Hands down totally recommend this if you’re considering it and don’t want to spend much. There are of course much nicer options but they get very expensive. You get more than you pay for with this. No worries.
Dealt with Redragon in the past over a mouse and keyboard set that arrived with the kb not working. They were easy/pleasant to deal with via email and sadly the items were sold out so they could only refund not replace. With anything of this nature you will get some bad reviews/duds. It is of course disappointing but you will not be left out to dry. They do care and are definitely delivering solid products at bargain basement prices.

Originally scrolling through the different mechanical keyboards, I didn’t judge my current setup to be worthy of a 120+$ mechanical keyboard, so I went for this one.
================= FIRST IMPRESSION =================
Very badly packaged, it did come in a back with some BUILT IN scratches.
It did come with a tool to remove the keys when cleaning, nice detail.
================= COOL FEATURES =================
– Comes with two light modes ( static and slow fade).
– Has a function ( FN ) key with a couple shortcuts. Some are odd : It’s 2018, who needs a Windows Media Player button?
– The arrow keys can be also used as W,A,S,D for racing games .
– You can also lock the Windows key directly from the keyboard if it isn’t your OS.
================= 3 MONTH USE REVIEW =================
Very solid keyboard for the price. As a programmer(and a monkey one) you could say that I use it to its maximum capacity and it has done its job very nicely.
Pros:
– Very portable for me . I bring it anywhere with my laptop and the Velcro tie that is included is very useful for this.
– The red color is pretty good at night. Keys are very visible at all times .
Cons:
– The rubber bottom. It doesn’t grip much. With regular use I quickly noticed that the bottom rubber wore off in about 2 months. Fixed it with a bigger mousepad.
– I never realized how loud these keyboard are. I looked it up and these have CHERRY MX BLUE equivalent.
They feel nice but it gets in anyone’s nerves when I use it cause it does sound like an old school typewriter
– Why did you use this font? Looks like Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Menu font, maybe I’m disconnected with the ePIc GaMer community.

It’s not quite the feeling of a high-end keyboard like the alienware pro, but it is a good alternative for the price. I spilled a glass of water on it and it still works, so that’s good. When it comes to the lettering on the keys, they should of picked a better font and made the letters brighter. Also, the unboxing experience was ruined because the box got wrecked as I took off the shipping label off. Don’t let the small things get you down though, overall this is a great keyboard for the price.
This is a real gem. The price is very fair, as most mechanical keyboard cost twice the price or must imported from China. Owning a 100%, a 60% and now a 80% mechanical keyboard, I must say, for the most versatile usage, a 80% is a must.
The only drawback for this product is its non customisable red backlighting. It’s… an aquired taste. (hence 4 stars) I would also advice to install some O Ring keycaps dampeners, but that’s true for any keyboard. I very much recommend this. Perfect for gaming, ideal for work and everything else.
I was recommended this keyboard by a friend I play CS with as he’s used it for some time. I’m very happy with the performance. The responses times from keystrokes are quick and it’s got a very satisfying metallic sound as you hit the keys.

Quality seems decient, lighting is a bit much, and is quite compact. just having a bit of trouble getting accustom to it.
Excellant mechanical – clicky keyboard. Very colourful for dim light operation. Improvement for gaming over the Microsoft Keyboard i was using. Only one problem the one I got was a US not UK layout, my fault for not checking, still does not cause me any problems.
For the Price, it’s not an amazing mechanical keyboard, but it does the job. I personally wouldn’t recommend it for gaming. However if you love the mechanical feel as much as I do, try having it at your desk at work. This thing is an alright typer.

Its the feels that counts. Love the tactile feels and mechanical clicking sounds. Ok for a budget gaming keyboard.
Well-built, I think it will pass the test of time. The keys are a good texture. Responsive. The feet that flip out on the bottom are actually amazingly well-made. Like an old IBM PS/2 mechanical, except lighter plastic. But they’re not the little dinky cheap ones found on the keyboards that come with retail PCs in the box.
Extra little features you might find nice: You can lock the WinKey. You can lock all the keys. And you can swap the WASD/arrow keys – but note that when you do you’re pressing FN+W, and during the swap with each press of just the W key both the W and the UP keys are sent. I can’t see that being a problem but interesting quirk.
The keys as far as their mechanics… The click is tinnier than, say, a brand-new Cherry Blue. A bit more pronounced. And you can hear the spring vibrate, like a faint bell, when the key returns. Like a older worn mechanical – the bell sound, not the feel. The feel of the actuation is good, I think, but it feels a little lower than the Cherry, and the tactile bump of the return is stronger so that may be the reason for the bell sound. They’re not really Blue clones. Not bad, just different. Maybe louder. IDK it’s hard to tell (I don’t have both to compare, just from memory – my usual Browns are tactile with no click, so that may be skewing my assessment?) I wouldn’t fault anyone for choosing Otemu switches. Utility-wise, I’m sold on their quality at least. And note the price, and I think it’s more than fair. Also – it’s a trade-off, but you’re not buying junk. I’m not sure how to put into words what you’re trading off but it’s not craftsmanship or quality.
So anyway, some dislikes/wishes:
I got the Red LED one. You can change brightness (and make it breathe-blink at different speeds), and you can turn it off. But, the lowest brightness setting is a bit bright. I feel like it should go lower by like 50% from the current lowest setting. The thickness of the letters, which light up, is what makes it harsh. Maybe it wouldn’t be as bad if the font was thinner. But I like the font, and I would appreciate a lower brightness setting. I actually expected the light bleed from underneath the keys would be worse – but that’s actually a reasonable amount.
I would really like more switch options – I’m a fan of Brown 😉
UPDATE: Yeah so turns out I really dislike clicky switches. I felt like a 70s reporter the night of deadline while writing this review. So i bought Otemu Browns and started swapping the switches. Much happier, no issues during replacement. The ones sold here on Amazon are $10 for 20 but it’s still less than the cost of most retail mechanicals at the end of the day, or equal price in some cases. This is a fine build board and I’m so far perfectly happy with Otemu switches. I think I’m going to put some LED-dim stickers on the inside-bottom of the keycaps to fix my gripe from above. A bit of an adventure, but that’s half the fun for most of us 🙂

Splendid keyboard. I bought the rgb version and it is easy to customize. The swithes are great.
Fantastic keyboard for the money, has a bit weight to it and feels very well built. It’s worth pointing out that it’s only available in English US layout but that’s no problem to me as it’s only used for gaming. Works with XIM Apex on XBOX ONE too.
Also this keyboard is mechanical, cherry blue switches. They’re loud but they’re very responsive. If you type a lot but don’t want to spend too much money on an expencive mechanical keyboard, this is arguably your best option. AVOID all these Mechanical-feel Keyboards they don’t use plastic switches, they use membrane switches.
This keyboard also comes with a key picker which allows you to replace keys should you need to.

Tried some dampening O-rings, didn’t help much, so I decided to open it up and experiment (need to remove the keycaps to access the screws holding the top plate down). Here’s what I found.
The noises come from:
– the click of the switch itself. It is what we like over the other switches, but the keycap amplifies this click quite a lot.
– the bottom-out noise when the keycap hits the switch’s box. The O-ring can dampen this sound a bit, but the boxy plastic base amplifies it multiple times. Coupling with an IKEA tabletop, it sounds like hitting a drum.
– the sound of the switch hitting the switch’s box on the way up. You can hear this sound when you hold a key down and lift your finger up quickly (like when typing fast). Again, this sound is also amplified by the keycap.
The good news is, if you take the circuit board out of its boxy plastic base, all the noises are reduced to around 25-35% (my rough estimation), the only noticeable sound is the faint click of the switch itself. If you like a really quiet keyboard, you can just make a custom base/footing (a block of foam for example). You just need to cover the exposed circuit board on the underside, the top metal plate is pretty solid and won’t bend. I’m pretty sure it’s even quieter than the typical Dell keyboards at my office.
However, my daughter prefers the keyboard with its base, so I tried to stuff the inside with foams, hoping to muffle it, and it seemed to work. But upon tightening the screws back in, it’s noisy again. So, the noise is transmitted through the screw poles to the plastic base, then the base amplifies it. Stuffing might have helped a bit, but not noticeable.
To decouple the keyboard from the screw poles, I cut pieces of foam to the same height as the screw poles and double-sided taped them to the base. The poles are of different heights, shorter near the space bar, and taller near the Function keys. When putting the keyboard back, the circuit board and top plate sit on the foams, I tightened the screws very lightly, basically the screws keep the top from jumping out rather than holding it down. This significantly reduces the noise. I also filled the base with thinner foam rods, to reduce the void space in case it does act like a speaker enclosure.
The keycaps were still problematic, with the switch’s click, the bottoming-out, and coming-back noise. Instead of using O-rings, I stuffed cotton ball in the keycaps, just little enough to muffle the sound, and acts as a thin layer of O-ring. The more cotton, the muffler the sound, but also shorten the travel distance. I didn’t want it to interfere with the great feeling of the switch so I didn’t use much. I was lazy and didn’t stuff the function keys as they’re rarely used, also to serve as a comparison. You’ll have to experiment a bit to find the right amount to your liking. The cotton does block the backlight a bit, but not much (and don’t look straight into the backlights after removing the keycaps, they’re blinding).
One last thing, whatever the small amount of noise left, transmitted to the tabletop and got amplified. So I rolled a thin foam bag into little feet and taped them to the keyboard, no noise from the tabletop at all.
Overall, I’d definitely call it a success. She was ready to compromise for a quieter keyboard, but now more than happy to keep it. I used to be able to hear her “smashing” the keyboard in her room from the living room, now I can barely hear the “light” click if I really pay attention. She wanted the RGB version, so I’ll buy one to trade with her, and probably will experiment with a custom base instead. See a need, fill a need!
Keyboard is great! For 40 bucks you cant go wrong with this keyboard, with its red ed back light and and media controls built into the keyboard and very satisfying switches. It says these are cherry green equivalent but they feel more like blues to me.This is the best budget keyboard out there.
Bought this keyboard to try out a tkl. I figured it was only $45 dollars so why not. After spending a week using it I can confidently say that this is probably the best keyboard you will get for the money you pay. It’s made of plastic but has a metal plate with plastic casing around it for a solid build. Little to no flex. The switches are great. I’ve had blue’s for a long time and I cant really feel a difference in the two. The sound is more like a green switch but the feel is like a blue. They key caps are double shot with a little texture on it. Definitely wasn’t expecting decent key caps at this price. The key presses feel solid and of good quality. The stabilizers for the keys are very high quality and are similar to what you would see on a corsair board. There is little to no wiggle at all on the shift key when pressed down. The back lighting is great for this price point. It has well over 10 different lighting modes including solid color back light. To get the solid color back lighting all you do is push FN+ins three times then FN+ right arrow to select the color. There is not a solid white color but there is a light blue. To get per key lighting you have to push FN+tilde key (the key just to the left of the the number 1 key) twice, then use FN+right arrow to select the color, then press the key you want that color on. This is not mentioned in the user manual so I figured I would put it in this review. There are floating keys on this board but they are enclosed by a plastic casing around the perimeter. However, the keys are left open in the middle making it super easy to clean. The only thing this keyboard truly lacks is a detachable cable (I almost took a star off for that. It’s the only thing I dislike about this board). Overall this keyboard is well worth the money and I would have easily paid $60 dollars for it. That is all, thanks.

Packaging sucks. They put it in a bubble wrapped envelope and damaged the box. However, the keyboard seems intact still.
The switches definitely require a bit more force than both my QuickFire Rapid and K70, but it’s not like doing finger push-ups on your keyboard or anything like that. One reviewer stated that these have a 55g actuation force and from what I’ve found authentic Cherry MX Blues have a 50g actuation force; without doing any measurements of my own, this feels about right. They do feel a bit cheaper than my other two keyboards and there is an audible “spring” sound on occasion when the key returns that O-rings have done little to mitigate, however this is by no means a dealbreaker for me. I cannot overstate, however, that this is a LOUD keyboard and will probably not be acceptable in most shared quiet settings. I use mine in a fairly noisy office and get the occasional good-natured ribbing from coworkers who hear my keyboard, but no one has put in a legitimate complaint. Cherry MX Blues are notoriously noisy, but these Outemu switches easily out-clack the competition in terms of volume.
Some don’t seem to like the design, however I think it’s pretty minimalist with the small exception of the Redragon logo above the arrow keys (which doesn’t bother me much and seems like it *might* be removable somehow) and the cheesy gamer-esque font. The font can be forgiven since I’ve seen these very keycaps on other inexpensive keyboards, and I’m guessing economy of scale is what helps keep the price as low as it is. The backlighting is fine; basic but good and easily turned off, although it will not remember your settings and will default to on. If you don’t like backlighting, save yourself a few dollars and get the non-backlit version. There is no wrist-rest, but I’ve purchased a Grifiti Fat Wrist Pad (I was not paid, just hyperlinking for your convenience) that goes quite well with this keyboard. Some people also seem to want a detachable cable; I’ve always found these to be more annoying than worthwhile but I suppose it’s a matter of personal preference. Some have modified the keyboard to use a detachable cable, so it’s definitely possible. I’m sure this also came down to cost. The keyboard also has a very nice weight to it and quality legs with rubber stops if you want to raise it a bit.
I’m deducting a star because of questionable quality control. While I really like this keyboard, it does misfire on occasion (the “e” key, specifically). It’s not annoying enough to send it back, however I also purchased a Redragon Brown switch keyboard (“Devarajas”) and it has more defective keys, both in functionality and quantity. It’s unfortunate because the Devarajas seemed like it was going to be an equally good keyboard. I’m keeping the K552 and returning the Devarajas.

Other than the font, the design is fairly minimalist and doesn’t look too out-of-place in an office

Not specific to the keyboard, but Blue switches are wonderful for typing

In summary: I still prefer using my Corsair K70, but if I were limited to either a Redragon mechanical keyboard or something like a “gaming” keyboard with rubber domes, the Redragon would win out every time. The value is great, as long as the quality is consistent.
Other notes: I may try some different key caps out at some point. I’ll be sure to update if I do.
With most half mech keyboards costing around 30-35 usd I wasn’t expecting all that much from this mechanical board. But as someone who has used membranes all his life and after buying a laptop that made my wrist hurt after a few hours of gaming I figured I’d dip my toes into the water and buy a mechanical keyboard, but since I had no experience with mechanical keyboards aside from using them at my local Best Buy I wasn’t ready to sink 80+ dollars into a board that I might end up hating, so I decided to pick this up. I picked this board instead of some others (like tomoko and gamdias) because I got a Redragon mouse back when I bought my laptop so sticking with the brand and theme seemed wise. Plus I like to beat pretty hard on my keyboards so I figured 55g of force seemed about right for me. So before I do pros and cons keep in mind this is from the perspective of a gamer that plays games like fps shooters (tf2 mainly) to other game types like WoW.
PROS:
-The feel , you wouldn’t think a keyboard could feel very different from another but I’m glad I was wrong, the sharp click and medium force required to actuate the keys is near perfect for me, my fingers don’t get fatigued even after hours of gaming.
-Build quality, while you are normally touching plastic on the board there is certainly metal in this, as lifting up my membrane board and this reveals that even though this is a 10 key-less board and my membrane isn’t the Redragon weighs near twice as much, it’s a very solid feeling product.
-Lighting, The keyboard that I purchased was the non rgb red version, and wow I’m awed the light of the board goes from off to a very bright and obvious level. (It also includes a breathing mode something I haven’t used but I’m sure is fine)
MIXED:
-The noise, while I quite like the sound that this keyboard makes to the rest of my family it’s really annoying I can’t recommend this keyboard to someone like a college student with a dorm mate.
-Weight as I mentioned earlier, the keyboard is quite heavy especially for a 10 key-less board. While I quite like the hefty feeling and like that it doesn’t slide around on my desk anyone that is going to carry this around say from office to office every day it’s far too heavy.
-Key font, the key font here is definitely targeted towards gamers with large obvious lettering and unique letter design (zoom in on b if you want to see what I mean) this isn’t going to fit in on a typical office desk (not that it should the noise would drive your co-workers mad). While I like it a potential buyer should keep it in mind.
These ARE NOT cherry mx switches. While I personally can’t tell the difference between cherry mx blue switches and these greetech ones if you have been using cherry blue switches since their release back in 1980 whenever you might be able to tell the difference but again I can’t.
Ten key-less, the removal of this feature really doesn’t bother me (I’m not an accountant) I’m sure some people will dislike it but I really can’t mark it as a con since I enjoy the extra mouse room and have never really used the num pad on my keyboard. To anyone that absolutely MUST have a num pad for a cheaper price than flagship mech board from corsair, ducky, joker or whatever look at the Redragon k551 or the Gamdias Hermes lite (both of which can be found on amazon and had for less than 80 usd pretty comfortably)
CONS:
Missing features, while a lot of higher end keyboards (mainly corsairs and Logitechs) include features like a pass through USB on the keyboard, phone stands, and wrist rests this keyboard includes none. BUT as this price point no one should really expect it too.
That’s about it, to rap up if you can put up with the noise and don’t need to travel anywhere with the keyboard on a day-to-day basis I can’t think of any reason to spend more money than this. I love the keyboard and will update this review should anything happens.

D***, this thing is heavy. D***, this thing is sexy. D***, this thing is magical.
This is my first mechanical keyboard and I already love it more than any other keyboard I have ever typed on. (And I have had it for a grand total of five minutes.) I did a lot of research on mechanical keyboards before making any purchases, and with research comes discovery of the prices. They’re daunting to say the least, especially when you’re still unsure if you’ll even like them. This keyboard is $40, now is that a lot of money? Eh, maybe, it’s all about perspective. Do you go to a particular, and popular designer coffee shop on a daily basis? If yes, then I am going to assume you pay at least 5 dollars every day for that coffee. If you cut out that coffee for 8 days, you could have this keyboard; and it’s something that you can have for several months or years, and not just reprocess.
Anyways, getting back on track.
-My initial experience of the keyboard was perfect. I plugged it into my computer (Windows 10) and it lit right up. I waited a few seconds before using any of the keys assuming it was going to install new software or do some kind of update but that didn’t happen. It was literally ready to go straight out of the very nice packaging. All of the “F” keys worked as well as their secondary “FN” functions. 100% impressed.
-The sound of this keyboard is very audible; if that’s what you’re after then look no further. It’s clicky, very, very, clicky.
Each press is more satisfying than the last and I love it. Not only is the sound phenomenal, the pressing of the keys is even better. You will notice immediately that they feel different from your laptop keyboard and that free “membrane” keyboard that came with your dell computer in 2005.
It blows them out of the water. It feels so much more accurate than any other type of keyboard I have used. I am a heavy inaccurate typer; I’m not a fat blind guy, I just smash the absolute hell out of my keys with little to no precision. Since these keys are harder to press down I am noticing right away that I am making fewer mistakes from my run away fingers. So yay, no more rapid fire pressing of the backspace, for which I’m sure it’s grateful. But long story short, it feels really good to type on this keyboard, and the keys have a very satisfying feedback.
-The LED’s are great; they shine brilliantly through the key caps. They can be turned on and off, so you aren’t forced to be assaulted by red 24/7. They can be dimmed which is wonderful because at night I’m sure these bad boys are like the sun. There is also a breathing mode where the keyboard will “inhale” and “exhale” which is pretty cool.
-The size of letters are larger than normal and they look very tactical against the black theme. (With or without the lights on) The keys can be removed, and the keyboard comes with a key puller.
-The switches are NOT Cherry MX, and at first it turned me off to this keyboard, but anything else with Cherry switches and LED’s was almost double the price. However, they are Cherry MX key cap compatible, so if you plan to switch out keys for different ones it will increase your buying options.
-The cable is long and fairly thick (phrasing) however it isn’t braided, so keep that in mind if that is one of your “must haves”.
-The windows key can be locked.
-There is no number pad; I don’t need one or want one.
-You will notice a slight mechanical sounding echo, similar to the those echoing mics from the 90s. It’s slight, but noticeable in a quiet environment. It doesn’t bother me, but at least one of you would probably prefer to listen to a blender full of nitroglycerin and screws.
-The keyboard is made out of plastic, but it still of very high quality. It doesn’t make any of those stress pop noises when you pick it up or move it.
Overall: This keyboard has far exceeded my expectations and I am exceptionally pleased. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is still on the fence about getting their first mechanical keyboard. I will be updating this review at some point in the future to go over its longevity, wear and tear, or any issues that I may encounter.
This is a great product the key presses are substantial and the anti ghosting works flawlessly with no problems at all.
Switches: The switch are MX Blue and they have a really nice feel with a fast response time after the key is pressed and there is no lag at all.
Anti ghosting: I have tested the anti ghosting capabilities and have had no problems, it works every time without fail.
Keys: The keys have a very nice matte effect which also adds to the feel of the keyboard whilst making it look great as well.
RGB lights: The lights have many different modes which make the keyboard look exceptional. There is a great effect when using the keyboard and makes it stand out so much from a keyboard that is only red or doesn’t have lights at all. It also adds to a setup if your setup is certain colour you can set the keyboard to that colour to make your set look great.
Build quality: The busily quality is great and it has enough weight to keep it firmly sat on a desk in your desired location. The cable is thick and substantial with a gold plated usb which has a large connector so the cable doesn’t break of from the usb.
