If you judge your knives on how often and easily you cut yourself when using them then look no further! I feel lucky to still have all my digits after using these for a few months – very, very sharp. The wooden block they stand in feels solid and looks good on the worktop. Nice price + 30 year guarantee.
Fantastic and completely worth paying that little bit more to get the quality in the kitchen. They look beautiful and cut to perfection.
A couple of pointers for maintenance: get a good quality (fine grit) honing rod and learn to use it properly. This will keep the blades aligned and in tip-top shape. Secondly, don’t put them in the dishwasher or leave them sat at the bottom of the sink in a pool of grotty water after use. These are high-carbon blades – not stainless – they need to be treated with care and not abused.
Purchased these last year as a Christmas present, and they are still sharp! The knives are really enjoyable to hold and use, I find them easy to grip – especially the chef’s knife. When sharpened they retain their edge for a very long time. Well worth purchasing.

The knives are sharp, a joy to use and pleasing to the eye – I am delighted with them.
Really nice knives – well balanced and beautifully made. I’ve only had them for a couple of weeks so cannot comment on how well they will keep their edge but I can say that they are sharp and cut with ease.
The block is nicely finished and feel sturdy, as it should do being a single piece of wood. Overall, I’d be happy to recommend these knives, and at this price you’d have to look very hard to find something better.

All knives are very sharp, except for the Paring knife (the small one) which is not really sharp. I tried improving its edge usign an Edgeware 2-Step Knife Sharpener but to no avail.
I cannot contact the provider (A Cut Above Knives) directly trhough the Amazon “contact seller” option in order to check if I could have only the Paring knife replaced, or if I have to return the whole set to have a new one. I will be attentive to news.

Great set. Although a serrated small knife would have been more useful then 2Xsmall knifes. Looks sleek and blades stay sharp.

Ii wanted a good set of knifes that were unibody design (all one piece) for safety. These are very good value for money. Excellent quality. Good weight to them and nicely finished. The block looks nice and all the knifes fit into the slots with easy. Very sharp and a good range of sizes.

Fantastic, wife loves them shes supprised at what an impact the set has made in the kitchen. Mainly down to the confidence of bring in the block. They make a nice noise when withdrawn. Had them over a month now, hold edge well, sharp and sturdy. I have no doubt that they will last many years.
So pleased with these knives. They are super sharp. I did have to swap the first set though as the wooden block was damaged. But I got in touch with the supplier and they made it very easy to swap and were very helpful and quick to reply to emails.

Lovely set of knives. Says on the box that they are dishwasher proof but this is probably leading to rusting mentioned in other reviews. Play is safe and just wash and thoroughly dry them normally.
Very good knives, you can’t go wrong with these. I tried them on a carrot and I could slice them about as thin as skin!! They feel really good in the hand, really well balanced and they look great in the block on the worktop. Excellent value for the money and if looked after properly, In my opinion they should last a lifetime.

hi, brought this as a Christmas present so not used it myself yet are seen them been used, but they are a lovely looking knife set with a very heavy solid wooden block to house them very impress with the deliver time they came early and very well package very happy.

after reading reviews this looked like the knife set I wanted. It turned up two days ahead of schedule and I wasn’t disappointed. The ergonomically designed handles are very comfy and the knives themselves are very sharp. I have had professional knives In the past when training as a chef but for the money these are tremendous value.
My last set were ancient and wouldn’t cut butter. Delighted with new set but managed to cut myself three times during the first week of ownership, beware, they are sharp. Well that’s the point isn’t it! Because of earlier reviews I’m aware that some people had concerns about rust so I’m always checking for signs and I’m happy to say all clear on that front.

they looked good – but were poor : did not sharpen well, and did not stay sharp.

They look good and they are sharp. And I hope I can find a sharpener in the future to keep them sharp. But meanwhile they have pride of place in my kitchen. I look forward to using them and I have to remember to use them away from your fingers rather than towards them
As someone who cooks everyday and uses his knives 2-3 times I would like to say that these are the best knives you could possibly get for the price and would have paid the full 240 (RRP) for them with a smile on my face.

Bought these to replace an old blunt set which I could never sharpen. Using these was almost like the difference between night and day! Good quality, solid set and the knife block itself looks reasonably good. Have been using these for a couple of months and aside from the odd use of steel to maintain the edge these knives have stayed very sharp. All in all a great purchase and very reasonably priced too.

far easier and more accurate than my electric carving knife.I read the other comments about them rusting in dish washers I wouldn’t put them in a dish washer just clean and rinse by hand it takes just seconds.

This knife set is an absolute joy to use. I am completely useless in the kitchen and several of the prep jobs I hated involved slicing or dicing veg for dinner. We always used wedding present cutting knives before deciding it was time to buy a proper set. Now i can slice tomato’s paper tin with no mess. These Knives are very, very sharp, so beware!! The Block is wood, not like some of the other Knife Blocks from popular Chef T.V. shows, that are Plastic! This looks very stylish sitting on my kitchen work top. When I ordered two by mistake the Company got in touch with me straight away and let me know that I had ordered 2 instead of 1, and they promptly cancelled the other one, and I was refunded immediately, Not many Companies would do that!!!!!!!!
This set is probably nowhere near the quality of something like Global but having just had a browse for the top brands used by professionals you can see that for the price of this set, you couldn’t by even one knife. These are not razor sharp as such but a definitely a major improvement over what I have used and attempted to sharpen by various means without success. The first few goes seem to show they will be good enough for someone of my standard and definitely makes preparation far less boring. Well worth the money.
