I love these knives. They’re fine in the dishwasher and although I’ve barely sharpened them have remained really sharp. I was worried they might go rusty after reading previous reviews but this hasn’t been a problem at all. I’ve had them for over 6 months now and have steadily taken less care of them, now they sit wet sometimes and are still fine.
They survive the dishwasher really well. They suggest wiping the blades when you’ve washed them but we don’t bother with that usually. Usually straight back in the block. My partner has sharpened them once since purchase and another instance of the same would not go amiss.
These are the best knives I have ever owned. They are super sharp and very comfortable to cut with.
I am really enjoying these knives and are good for the money. I’ve dropped a star as I was led to believe from recommendations that they would rival the more expensive brands. This isn’t the case but are certainly worth the price.
Well, I purchased these knives in 2013 so it’s fair to say they’ve been well tested. Used as main knives since then. Smallest knife has been replaced.
My biggest suggestion would be to but a good sharpener. The reason my first knife was replaced was I originally used a cheap and cheerful sharpener which whilst sharpening, doesn’t iron out any rough edges, it made them worse.
The blades hold an edge well if looked after, they’re comfortable and clean up easily in the dish washe
It’s nice to have something nice, these are nice.

The wooden block also has a quality feel.
I read others tiny negative views about not completely flush handle, yes, I see what the mean. But for me, it doesn’t take away.

I purchased these knives in 2015, fast forward to January 2020 and the handles had cracked and chipped. Remembering they had a really long guarantee on them, I contacted Amfena (the parent company of Richardson).
Well…
I was asked for pictures, which I sent with proof of purchase. Without question, I had a replacement set delivered free by DPD. The feedback I got is that there was a problem with some of the knives and they have changed supplier.
These are lovely and well balanced knives. Over the last few years I have developed a problem with the grip of my hands but I can still use these.
I found that the dishwasher did leave them with some marks after time, so will be handwashing this lot. I could remove marks with a scouring pad and washing up liquid on my old set (unsure if this is recommended).

Awesome, diverse set of knives. Will be able to do most if not all jobs in the kitchen with this set. Does not rust easily either just dont leave it in the dishwasher after washing. If you take care of them they will last you a very long time. Remember to sharpen them from time to time also.
I’ve been using these knives daily for the last 5+ Years, still in great condition, no rust, still fairly sharp and the block is still looking great. Excellent value for money and very long lasting.

I purchased these as a gift and they were very well received – sharp and easy to use/handle.
Downsides are the lack of scissors (may or may not matter to you…) and the fact they’re essentially two-piece (different material for the handle), meaning the handle may deteriorate over time (compared to a solid metal knife).
It’s only been a few months, though no sign of rusting or anything yet.
I am extremely please with this purchase and would add that they are great value for money compared to other much more expensive knive sets I researched and tried before buying this set. One word of warning to anyone who buys this set, they are sharp (as you would hope).. as my husband will attest after slicing his finger the first time he used the pairing knife!

Good set of knives says dish washer safe but I don’t think they are but it’s no problem to wipe after use, keeps the sharp edge for very long time

Ive had these a year now and they are still as sharp as when we first got them, and they look brand new still. I’ve had to sharpen the all purpose knife once as we use that more frequently than the others.
There are sharp knives, and then there’s these beauties! I have nicked my fingers a few times as I’ve never used such sharp blades before, but they are a dream to use. Nothing is an effort to cut, slice, dice etc now.

Amazing! We’ve gone through quite a few sets but these are still going strong after a couple of years. I’m rubbish at cooking but I’m happy using these, husband’s a former chef and is very happy… no more moaning about knifes never being sharp enough!
Love these knives. Had them 6 months now and they are still brilliant. Just bought some as a moving in present for my friend who had knife envy. Such a good price and unless you are a chef who needs something extra extra special, these will do you well. The selection is perfect and there’s a knife for everything but treat them with respect as they deliver a mean cut if you get complacent!

Haven’t had it for long yet but atm a really good set, nice and sharp. Love the wooden knife block and the aesthetic.
The only disappointment is that the black parts of the knife are a printed layer, and from my experience those tend to chip off with time due to washing/use. I thought those were rubberised surfaces. Other than that all good.

A great knife set, have had them for 12 months. I use the main knife every day, often several times a day, everything from tomatoes to carrots to meat. I sharpen the main knife about once a week. I would advise you get a good quality steel or sharpene

Very happy with this set….have used global before but they are so expensive in comparison….. This set is as good as …at a fraction of the price…they are great quality…nicely balanced sitting very comfortably in your hand…and so very sharp…. Nice wooden block holder too
I initially bought just the chefs knife as I wasn’t sure about going for the whole set. I was very impressed and after a month of use decided the whole set was worth having, even if does now mean I have two chef’s knives. I haven’t been disappointed. The knives are sharp and to date have kept their edge. They also feel nice to use.
As this was a gift it is not fair for me to review it. HOWEVER my Son was “Over the Moon” terrific, a superb set of modern knives, so so well pleased …and a joy to cut the sprouts,carrots,parsnips etc and carve the Turkey The “Made in Sheffield” brand was also perfect and reflected great craftmanship
