Having been impressed with a couple of ROIDMI hoovers we bought for us and my mother, we needed a new cleaner for the office floors that are half carpet tiles and half lino tiles. The RS60 was a big ask on price but it is a great vacuum for carpets and the wet-wipe/vacuum attachment is brilliant on the lino – cleaning up dust and loose dirt and wiping the surface in one go. You’d still need the mop and bucket for really messy spills on lino, but for day to day cleaning hard floors and carpets, it works well and the battery lasts several times longer than our old Dyson. Oh and it’s much quieter too. Yeah, good, recommended.
I have found that the Soft Roller is really suitable for all floor types as described and it is so convenient not having to change rollers for different floor surfaces. Battery has lasted for in excess of 70 minutes and the variety of accessories is very convenient.
The information available via the App is also useful but ease of use has been the key for me as it is so lightweight and easy to navigate around each room no matter whether hard floor or carpet.
Well designed, well made. Perhaps why it’s a bit on the heavy side. Attachments attach and detach with ease. The dust container could have been a little more capacious but all in all a good efficient machine.
Just received and tested my new Roidmi RS60 (X30 pro) and from first impressions it appears a very good machine. After fully charging the battery straight from unboxing (as per instructions) I was able to complete a full clean of my 4 bedroom house which is a combination of both hard floor and carpeted accommodation – the single multipurpose roller proving adequate for both floor types. The vacuum took about two hours for a full charge and using a combination of low and medium speed settings gave approximated 40 minutes of cleaning time. I understand that keeping the speed to low you should be able to achieve over an hour however whilst the low setting is OK for the hard floor areas, the carpets required a bit of a boost. The full power suction appears very powerful and it’s nice to know the power is there should you need to engage it however the two lower settings were fine for me resulting in a full container of dust and debris at the end of the session. Here’s what I like about the Roidmi RS60:-
(1) The aesthetics are very pleasing to the eye – it certainly is a well designed cleaner especially the curved handle allowing it to be held from either above or behind the motor depending on comfort and the job in hand.
(2) Good battery life – I can do my whole house whereas my old Dyson would die about halfway through.
(3) It offers powerful suction at high setting however the lower settings should be fine for most use.
(4) The dust container is about the right size as the vacuum does not appear too bulky or “top heavy” as you often see with other manufacturers (I understand it’s a slight improvement on previous Roidmi models moving to a 0.55L capacity).
(5) The docking device is small and discrete allowing me to position the vacuum neatly in the utility area of the kitchen – I did not want a large piece of plastic stuck to the wall with all tools on display as half of them I guess I will never use in any case. It must be noted however that I was lucky in that there was a power socket within close proximity to where I wanted the vacuum to be positioned – you get 150cm of flex between the base of the adaptor and the magnetic charging plate so it’s probably something to be aware of when planning where to permanently store the vacuum in the house. Another thing to note about the magnetic docking plate/charging point is that it is designed only to keep the vacuum upright against the wall rather than fully supporting the weight of the vacuum off the wall. Instructions specify the exact height from the floor you should fix the plate to allow the charging pins to make contact – the vacuum therefore remains floor standing whilst magnetically propped up against the wall.
(6) You don’t actually require the magnetic charging plate to charge the vacuum – this is great in the fact that you can charge the battery directly from the charger via a socket at the back of the handle from any free power outlet – you just have to be careful as to how you prop the vacuum up – probably in a corner somewhere.
As you can see there are quite a few positives concerning the Roidmi however I have not given 5 stars for the review as there are a couple of areas where I think the manufacturer could have improved:
(1) You get a flexible hose (extension hose 02) with the pet tool that does not fit any of the other tools supplied in the box – this is a pity as it would have been really useful, especially for cleaning the car, to allow the crevice tool to attach to the hose. There is another hose specified in the instructions (extension hose 01) with what looks like a crevice attachment on the end however this is considered an “extra accessory” which you have to source separately – very disappointing considering this is the top of the range model.
(2) I’m not fully convinced with the single all purpose roller/brush for all surfaces. Whilst this is helpful in the fact you don’t need to change heads mid clean, I get the impression it does not do a thorough enough job on carpets compared with my upstairs “Bosch Athlet” (Dyson top model v11 offers different heads depending on floor surface).
(3) Price – Whilst I think this vacuum is a very good alternative to other top end models from Dyson, Tineco, Miele etc I don’t believe it justifies the high retail price set by Roidmi at 549. I picked mine up at a reduced price thanks to Amazon black Friday week and am happy with my outlay however the RRP would certainly have put me off.
All in all I am happy with my purchase and the price I paid for the vacuum and early indications suggest I will keep it as it’s performing well so far. There is also an app (android I think) for customers to bluetooth their mobile phones to the vacuum however why anyone would want to do this is anyone’s guess – its a vacuum after all said and done and if there is a blockage or the bin needs emptying I’m sure this can be worked out without the need for an app.
So this hoover I had so much hope for it considering it come with a flex hose.
It arrived in a small box and was really easy to build.
The design is fantastic really slim and sleek looking .
It has quite a weight to it tho compared to my current hoover.
On reading the instructions I felt like a bit was missing but after contacting company on fb it seems the instructions is for couple of hoovers .
The led screen is fantastic and quite cleve. There is a app but I dont need to be told when it needs emptying or how many calories I have burnt . I have no room on my phone either.
There is 3 auctions level and quite a difference between the first and third and also a great difference in sound. This hoover is loud.
The flex hose only connects to one tool item which is annoying as it would been so much beneficial if you could attatch at more.
There is 2 flood pads and I have not managed to try this option as have no tiles or lino currently. The anti tangle works really well on this hoover tho.
This hoover could offer so much more . It’s a good hoover but not the bes
This cordless vac is amazing !!
Before I started using I thought it might not withstand a family of 7 but I was wrong .
It’s really powerful and the design is strong .
The charge is really quick and it’s clearly indicated on its LCD screen .
We love this vac and it’s great for the kids to use and great for the car to keep it clean inside .
Top marks !!
It’s definitely the best product that I’ve used in my life. So easy to manage , it take almost no space and you can really see the results after the first hovering, the carpet looks like new, especially after my kids play around with glitter or crafty accessories. I can’t recommend it enough.
I wonder if life has got too complicated when your vacuum cleaner needs an app and firmware updates. Since I have owned this, the firmware has gone from v10 to v13 and I’m not entirely sure what that gained me. The app is a bit of a gimmick I think. I don’t really care how many calories I’ve used whilst cleaning and I’ll make my own judgements on when the filter needs to be changed.
We use this alongside a Dyson v7 and the major difference you notice is the weight. The Dyson is much lighter. That doesn’t’ make much difference when cleaning the carpets as most of the weight is resting on the floor, but when you’re using it hand held, you will notice the extra weight.
The vacuum is much more attractive than the Dyson and you can leave it visible rather than needing to hide it in a cupboard. The magnetic charger is excellent and makes it very easy to leave the unit propped against the wall to charge.
There are three cleaning levels, with the maximum being quite effective, but noisy. The dust container is remarkably small, so you’ll be emptying it regularly. Fortunately, it’s very easy to remove and empty.
Changing attachments is a bit tricky as everything clicks together very snugly. It feels robust, but I guess this is where some of the weight is coming from.
There is an attachment that you can fill with water and attach a microfibre cloth too for cleaning tiled floors. We found this worked remarkably well. Two of this clothes are included in the box.
Overall, I like this vacuum, but I question the price. I think a Dyson is a more effective and cheaper, but this looks much better.
